I’ve had some new followers since the last time I had a rush of OC asks, so in case you were a little confused, here’s the deal:
You can ask an OC (or canon character, I guess) a question and “they’ll” answer, but
Canon characters will answer within the universe of In Keeping with Kaiba
They only know information up to the last chapter on AO3 (lunaescence and gotvg.net readers may be behind)
They cannot give spoilers, even if they know them at the time of the latest chapter. (Again, I don’t think anyone knows anything but me, haha)
They aren’t restricted to talking about events of the story. Ask them anything, even ask memes!
I have a lot of fun answering these, so a big thanks to anyone who has (or will) participate! They help me flesh out the characters and work on their individual voices. ☆

Based on the manga by Satoshi Mizukami, The Lucifer and Biscuit Hammer is being directed by Nobuaki Nakanishi (Mangirl!), alongside Yuichiro Momose (So I'm a Spider, So What?) and Mizukami himself on series composition. The studio tasked with animating the long-awaited adaptation, which is scheduled to begin airing in Summer 2022, is yet to be revealed.
Seven Seas Entertainment, who publishes the manga's official English version, describes the series as:
Everything about college student Amamiya Yuuhi is average: grades, looks and his blasé outlook on life. So what happens when he awakens one day to a talking lizard, who informs him that there is a gigantic hammer in outer space, poised to split the Earth into pieces, and requests his allegiance in the fight against the forces of evil? Pretend it never happened! Unfortunately for Yuuhi, a little bit of coercion in the form of a super-powered princess prevents him from returning to his mediocre life-as-usual.
In the adventure of his lifetime, Yuuhi will join forces with the unpredictable princess and seek out a motley crew of companions to fight back against an evil mage and his horrifyingly powerful homunculus before the Biscuit Hammer destroys the planet!

About ADONIS Character Design
Not sure if anyone else noticed this, I thought it was pretty cool. It may just be my own speculation on Adonis’ character designs.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mikuni Rei #1: His number is 1 and on his front shirt logo, in my opinion, looks like the earth at first glance. Symbolizing that we only have “one world”. The clip on his cloak looks like a morning star. What I think of first when morning star is mentioned is “Satan/Lucifer”. (Although I’m not religious so my speculation is probably incorrect). But morning star is mentioned in the bible for both “Satan” and “Jesus”. He plays the role as a savior or destroyer of the ideal world he believes in.
**Adding! Another user mentioned that to them, instead of the earth, his shirt symbol looks like a moon instead. Which definitely makes more sense! “The moon has 2 faces/sides, just as Mikuni does. An Adonis member and the son of the prime minister.”
Credulity: a tendency to be too ready to believe that something is real or true, especially on minimal or uncertain evidence.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sanjou Keisuke #2: At first he was the only one where I couldn’t find a logo for “2″. But I noticed the two symbol on his shirt and it looks like a magatama. Which of course is similar to what we know, “Yin and Yang”. Good and evil. Sanjou was an ex cop who swore to law and protect. Then eventually joined Adonis to destroy. He’s shown to waver between the two sides. His shirt also has a lion dog image (or Japanese Komainu) which are creatures symbolized as guardians.
Corruption: dishonest or fraudulent conduct by those in power, typically involving bribery.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Uno Suzune #3: Her number is 3 and she’s wearing embellishments that symbolize a 3 leaf clover. Faith, hope and love. After her tragic past events, she desires those the most.
Craving: a powerful desire for something
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Uno Shion #4: As Suzune’s twin brother, he also has a clover as his symbol but it’s a 4 leaf clover instead. Which adds “luck” to faith, hope and love. It’s seen on his hat, jacket and necklace. Coincidentally, the number “4″ is “shi” in Japanese, which also means death. Suzune also refers to him as “SHI-chan” for a nickname. There is an idiom, “to be (or to live) in a clover” which means to live a carefree life of ease, comfort and prosperity. Something that the Uno siblings have always dreamed of.
Dependence: the state of relying on or being controlled by someone or something else.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Souda Manabu #5: Souda has a 5 pointed star as a badge on his jacket. Also a star clip on his ponytail. The badge also says in English, “Oppose force with force.” Stars are represented as protective symbols and divine force. Souda is constantly referring to himself as “God” and is revealed to be protective/caring of his comrades in game. His keyword is loneliness, obviously for the fact that he has no one. Shunned by society, with only the “friends” in the digital world he seeks out to fill that void.
Loneliness: sadness because one has no friends or company.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sugawara Rika #6: She has 6 pointed snowflake embellishments on her hair and coat. Snowflakes are symbols of rebirth and purity. Her keyword is fear from trauma of men and her stalker.
Fear: an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sera Akito #7: His number is represented by the dice logo on his sweater. If you add all the numbers together: 1, 3, 5= 9. For 9 Executors. But only the 3 and 4  of the circles are more bold opposed to the 2 faded baby blue ones. So add that and you get 7. The number 7 is associated with luck and a dice symbolizes “Fate”. A roll can determine for you to achieve your destiny or it could make you descend further away from the goal. It will show whether you go to the “white route” or “black route”. Sera is shown to constantly hesitate between his path of good and evil and “You” decide his “Fate”.
Sin: an immoral act considered to be a transgression against divine law.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kobayashi Hanako #8: Hana’s number 8 is shown on the 8 edged ribbon of her sweater. As well as the compass symbols on the sweater and stockings. A compass is means for “guidance”. Hana is a troubled girl who relies on Isshiki and his music to “point her in the right direction”. It’s said many times that his music helps people through troubled times and that they could relate to it. Rather than Zero, she regards Isshiki as her true hope and “Savior” which caused her to become obsessed with him.
Partiality: unfair bias in favor of one thing or person compared with another; favoritism.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ogata Tomoki #9: Ogata’s number is 9 and is shown on his coat in the form of a fox. A “kitsune” in Asian culture is known to have 9 tails. He also says to Hoshino that he’s aware he has small eyes (which are often closed in the game). Kitsune have small, narrowed eyes and a cunning smile. His hair is also almost light blonde/silver in colour. They are known to be wise/intelligent but vengeful. A classic tale of the kitsune is when it disguises itself to have a lover/family. Until it’s true nature is revealed and is forced to leave the spouse and children, mirroring Ogata’s background.
Greed: intense and selfish desire for something, especially wealth, power, or food.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Saeki Yuzuru #0: Saeki doesn’t seem to have anything on him to indicate his number because of course he IS “Zero”. Null, nothing. It may also be why his outfit is very simple too. However, his personal symbol seems to be the anemone flower. It’s shown on his chain, gun and cloak. None of the other Adonis members wears this. I even checked Kurose Shu’s cloak and he doesn’t have the design. The chain at his shirt collar is also a morning star (refer to Mikuni). Even Hoshino referred to Saeki as “like the Devil”. Anemone flowers are typically considered as bad luck and ill tidings. But of course the most famous connection it has is to Adonis, the Greek figure. (The organization name isn’t a coincidence!)
The origin of the flower was when Aphrodite wept over the body of her mortal lover, Adonis. The gods killed him over jealousy of their affair. While Aphrodite was crying, Adonis shed blood on the anemones that came from her tears and stained them red. In Christianity, red anemones symbolized the blood that Christ shed on the Crucifixion. Going back to the star at his collar; Lucifer is the Latin name for the morning star. Which is actually not even a star but, the planet Venus. Venus, the Roman goddess is equivalent to Aphrodite.
The flowers can also have positive meaning. Hoshino is constantly surrounded by purple or white anemones when with the main boys. Because those colours symbolizes “sincerity” and “protection from evil”. Red is Saeki’s colour, which means: death or forsaken love. The origin story about love and loss forever marked the anemone flower and made it a symbol of sadness in love. If Saeki had a keyword, I’d say it would be
Forsaken: abandoned or deserted.
Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk of delusions. Saeki/Hoshino is Adonis/Aphrodite don’t change my mind lmao

Collar X Malice ~UNLIMITED~ ADONIS Route Translations (Part 1)
Translator’s note : MC’s name shall remain as my normal (ラン) Spoiler FREE : Translations under cut !
Ran Hoshino: Pardon the intrusion.
I opened the cathedral's doors and stepped inside.
I bowed on one knee before the person inside turned to acknowledge my presence.
Ran Hoshino: You called for me, Zero?
Zero: Ahh. Thanks for your hard work.
The one who had been waiting for me in the cathedral was of course, none other than Adonis' head, Zero.
Zero: Why so humble? Haven't I always told you that that's not necessary?
His words echoed around me with a tone that indicated his slight displeasure. Perhaps he didn't like my attitude.
Ran Hoshino: Not doing so would set a bad example for others.
Ran Hoshino: You are a symbol to us, one of hope. Death befalls those who desecrate it.
Zero: Sigh... You're really alike after all. Or, should I say that you've come to resemble him?
Ran Hoshino: ...? Who are you talking about?
Zero: Rei, I mean. Lately, your words resemble his.
Ran Hoshino: ...I resemble Mikuni-sama...? Such words are unbefitting of me.
Rei Mikuni is the founder of Adonis and he's closer to you than anyone else.
I can't find any features that I might share with an existence that’s higher than mine.
Considering Rei's origins, his position within Adonis, and his thinking, it would be impossible for someone like me to be similar to him in any way or manner.
Zero: ...Well, whatever. Putting that aside, there's something I'd like to ask of you.
Ran Hoshino: Of course, your wish is my command.
I feel like we're finally onto the main topic of why he called me here. As I rightened my kneeling posture, his voice echoed around me.
Zero: I want you to do the "selection" in my place.
Ran Hoshino: ...You're asking of me to do that?
Zero: The rebirth of Adonis...it will start very soon.
Ran Hoshino: Yes, preparations have been proceeding smoothly. No mistakes will be made this time.
—— —— ≿————- ❈ ————-≾ —— ——
--The plan to restart X-Day,
an event that was thwarted 2 years ago. A coup d'etat by Adonis... A plan for terrorism.
Back then, an X-Day incident would happen once per month; Terrorist acts which plunged the nation into fear.
However, the police managed to stop their plans, thus preventing X-Day from happening. Adonis had their lowest ranking members serve as decoys while the core members went into hiding.
—— —— ≿————- ❈ ————-≾ —— ——
Ran Hoshino: (For two years, we've tread carefully behind the scenes.)
This was to ensure that we won't be noticed by the public even if something went wrong, to avoid attracting even the slightest bit of suspicion to ourselves.
The day of rebirth draws near. Each day that draws to a close is a step closer to our goal.
Zero: Of course, we can't afford to be as reckless as we were 2 years ago. Just being feared is enough for now. ...Judas.
Zero: ...Everything will be in vain if there is a Judas.
Ran Hoshino: ......!?
I swallowed the lump in my throat. Judas; the term we used to represent traitors.
Not knowing why he brought up the subject, I decided to prod him for more information.
Ran Hoshino: ...Is this one of your premonitions?
Zero: No...It's my conclusion after observing this situation for 2 years. No one has acted even a foot out of place. Everyone has fared and progressed far more than I expected.
Zero: Still, they might be waiting for the right time to strike. That's precisely why we have to keep our guards up.
Ran Hoshino: ...You must be implying that this is a mission regarding the Executors of the X-Day incidents 2 years ago, me included.
"Executors": This title was given to a specific group of people within the organization.
They were ordinary citizens who laid down the path leading to X-Day. A group of 8, consisting of both men and women alike, they exacted Adonis' will and judgement.
They formally joined Adonis as official members when the organization went into hiding, just like me.
...That's also the reason why Akito Sera is here.
Zero: I'm keeping an eye out for anything suspicious. I reckon they won't slip-up so easily.
Zero:  ...But still, seeing as we're only one month away from the restart of X-Day, I believe that any potential Judas will soon make their move.
Zero: If they're truly plotting to thwart our plans, there's a higher chance that they'll become bolder. It's very likely that the Judas will make a mistake.
Zero: For us, we just have to find the right time to uncover the Judas' identities and dispose of them.
Ran Hoshino: ......
I understand the reasoning behind his conclusion. We have to act at once if there are people who want to interfere with us.
Even if they're carrying out their actions with extreme caution, they'll definitely make a mistake or two in the long-run. We'll use that opportunity to crush them once and for all.
...However, the question still remains.
Ran Hoshino: I suspect that it's just as you say. But wouldn't that place me in the same situation as everyone else? Why did you assign me to this mission?
Shouldn't I be the most suspicious target, considering that I wasn't always an Executor?
Despite all of that...Zero only laughed off my concerns.
—— —— ≿————- ❈ ————-≾ —— ——
Zero: That's because I trust you. Ran Hoshino: ......
I could only meet his gaze as he tilted my chin upwards with a finger.
...Like always, I was unable to get a read on his emotions.
Ran Hoshino: ...It is my honor. Please leave it to me.
Zero: The expression you're making really doesn't match up with what you're saying. Aren't you happy?
Ran Hoshino: Even though I feel honored from the bottom of my heart?
Zero: ...Well, let's leave it at that.
Zero: You have a month to accomplish this mission. Present to me your findings 3 days before the plan is put into action.
Ran Hoshino: Roger that.
I nodded reflexively in reply as the gears in my brain started to turn.
Ran Hoshino: (This is my chance to prove myself...!)
The circumstances were too good to be true. This however, was no mere coincidence. It was an inevitable outcome.
Considering him, this man had probably given everyone in the upper ranks the exact same order.
Ran Hoshino: Keisuke Sanjou, Suzune Uno, Shion Uno, Manabu Souda, Rika Sugawara, Akito Sera, Hanako Kobayashi and Tomoki Ogata. Am I correct to assume that they are our current suspects?
I listed off their names as I tried to recall their faces. I'm not usually in contact with any of them but we were all affiliated with each other at least once.
Considering that we aren't all that close, I'll probably need a couple of excuses to get closer to them...
Zero: ...No. There's one other person.
Ran Hoshino: And who might that be?
His words snapped me out of my train of thought as I found myself searching for any signs of emotion in his eyes.
--There was absolutely no humor to be found.
Zero: Rei Mikuni. Please look into him as well.
Ran Hoshino: But...
Why would he ask me to do that? I really don't understand this man's intentions at all.
Rei Mikuni cherished him. Much more than anyone else who was a member of Adonis.
In fact, all of his actions, mind and heart were solely devoted to the organization alone ever since it was founded. His position was equal to Zero's.
Ran Hoshino: (Is it possible that that he's betrayed us?)
Zero: That's an order. No questions will be tolerated.
Ran Hoshino: ...Roger.
He had avoided the question and left me hanging with a vague answer.
Turning the case down and hesitating were not an option. I could only nod in reply. Orders were orders after all.
Ran Hoshino: Understood. It will be as you wish, Zero.
I could feel the tension in the air disperse once I formally accepted the mission. I heard a chuckle.
Zero: It's truly a pity about your hair though...
Ran Hoshino: ......?
Zero: Despite how long it was, you cut it short. Aren't you going to grow out your hair again?
Ran Hoshino: I'm also a combatant so it's easier to move without all that extra weight bagging me down...
Zero: Your current hairstyle's not all too bad but I think that having long hair suits you better... ...I liked it better that way.
Ran Hoshino: ......
—— —— ≿————- ❈ ————-≾ —— ——
I looked back in silence, unsure of how I should react. Zero withdrew the finger he had under my chin.
Ran Hoshino: I will proceed with the investigation at once. ...If that's all you need from me, I will take my leave.
Zero: I look forward to seeing the results of your investigation.
I stood up with my head still bowed. As I turned on my heel to leave, I found myself surveying the room out of habit. This cathedral is Adonis' sanctuary. A forbidden area.
That's to say that wherever Adonis goes, this cathedral follows. If Adonis changes hideouts, this place would be rebuilt in exactly the same way as it is now.
—— —— ≿————- ❈ ————-≾ —— ——
--The tragedy that befell "that day" didn't happen here. But, it’s still crystal clear. The air, thick with the metallic smell of blood and those eyes of despair.
—— —— ≿————- ❈ ————-≾ —— ——
Zero: ...Something the matter?
Ran Hoshino: ...No, It's nothing. Please excuse me.
I firmly turned away and left the cathedral this time.
—— —— ≿————- ❈ ————-≾ —— ——
Ran Hoshino: (I can't let this opportunity slip past me...)
Even if he's just manipulating me within the palm of his hand.
During my 2 years here, I tried looking into the executors mentioned earlier.
Previously, they were ordinary civilians whom you could find just about anywhere.
They weren't originally members of Adonis who had been used as pawns either. They were used because they had a common interest at heart. That was the most likely the case.
Ran Hoshino: (They stand out from the others though. For better or for worse. That means that I would look suspicious even if I tried contacting them through normal means.)
We're all in charge of different things so we haven't talked to each other much at all.
Ran Hoshino: (But...forced contact can be made if an order has been made.)
Gathering them together could prove to be rather convenient if there really are traitors within them.
Ran Hoshino: (It's easier to deceive people with more pawns on hand.)
One month till the restart of X-Day.
For the sake of the "Rebirth" I desire.
Ran Hoshino: (I'll do everything I can...to fulfill my one and only goal!)
—— —— ≿————- ❈ ————-≾ —— ——
--And from that day onwards, I carried out my investigation on the "Executors" along with my usual duties. I can't take things lightly anymore if I want to finish these investigations on time.

Bad End Round Up: Collar x Malice [Updated Version]
Tumblr media
Bad End Roundups is where I give reactions to the bad ends and normal ends of an otome, usually because I tend to leave all the bad or normal ends until I’ve completed all of the good ends I can. This isn’t the case with every game, as some I’ll get a bad end the first time through, especially with blind playthroughs. In general, however, this is my rule of thumb when I play otomes.
And, as you can probably figure, these are going to be riddled with spoilers, for the entire game. This portion also has several trigger warnings applied, so check the tags below if any of these warnings apply to you.
Out of all of the bad ends I’ve played so far, this game takes the more serious path. There aren’t any gag endings, where the ending is so ridiculous that you can’t take it seriously. There aren’t really any normal endings either, just the Tragic Love Ends, where it varies on how much this ending hurts your soul.
Original Version located here.
Now, into the Bad End Roundup, starting with… the common route!
Final spoiler warning here, folks!
——————
Tumblr media
Common Route
‘Report it’ Ending
Ichika goes against the strict warnings from the collar and tells Mochida about what happened to her, show him the collar and everything.
This results in the collar injecting the poison into her system, and, thus, kills her. Whoops.
‘Rather Do It Myself’ Ending This end is when Ichika doesn’t choose a specific route and is basically trying to solve the X Day crimes alone without input from the others. But there is too much for her to analyze on her own, overwhelming her, and X Day comes as a result, and she’s too late to stop it.
————–
Mineo Enomoto Bad Ends
Tumblr media
Enomoto has six Bad Ends, one of them being his Tragic Love End.
Bad End 1 This one involves taking a more dangerous shortcut home. This forced Ichika to run into Manabu, the gamer dude, where he shoots her. Whoops.
Bad End 2 This one involves Ichika getting information from Satake, Enomoto’s old superior and mentor. Unfortunately, she are too cautious in her approach and he doesn’t give the information. This leads indirectly to Ichika’s death, because she wasn’t proactive enough.
Bad End 3 Like Bad End 2, this one involves getting information from Satake. Ichika is still too cautious, but she does apologize for hiding the complete truth from him. This results in Enomoto getting taken and killed this time.
Bad End 4 This is where Ichika misses the shot to disable Hanako, the girl in the bunny jacket. This results in Hanako shooting Kazuki, her little brother.
Ichika doesn’t take this very well, as she then proceed to shoot her multiple times in a blind rage.
Bad End 5 This involves going to the wrong place to find Enomoto and Ogata, resulting in Enomoto shooting Ogata, on streaming video, right on the big screen in Shinjuku Station, with no context as to why Enomoto opened fire on him.
Bad End 6, His Tragic Love End Enomoto tries to make his peace with Ogata in a live press conference. Ogata however, does not share the same sentiment and tries to stab him with a concealed knife. Ichika is quicker to react and shoots him, straight in the heart.
However, because it was a compromise of her ideals, shooting a person first instead trying to understand him and his point of view, Ichika resigns from the police force and goes home. Before she can completely leave, however, Enomoto finds her on the train and tries to convince her to stay, but the damage is already done and she leaves him behind.
———
Takeru Sasazuka Bad Ends
Tumblr media
Sasazuka has six Bad Ends, one of them being his Tragic Love End
Bad End 1 Ichika goes into the park to find Suzune, one of the twins, there. Suzune goes off on her for showing basic human concern and proceeds to choke her. Suzune’s brother, Shion, comes along to his sister choking poor Ichika. He stops her, briefly, until it’s revealed that Ichika’s a cop. He then proceeds to shoot her dead. Whoops.
Bad End 2 Because Ichika stumbled upon Rika Sugawara’s dead body accidentally, she is killed for seeing too much.
Bad End 3 Ichika pushes Sasazuka out of the way of being shot by Manabu, and gets shot in the process. Sasazuka doesn’t take this well.
Bad End 4 Ichika tries to reason with Manabu, against her and Sasazuka’s better judgement. This results in Ichika getting ‘BOOM. HEADSHOT.’ Sasazuka screams worse in this ending.
Bad End 5 Sasazuka keeps his focus on finding his mother’s killer instead of the larger problem of the X Day crimes. He does take off Ichika’s collar in a very sweet scene (where he drugs her though, unfortunately) and disappears into the night.
Bad End 6, His Tragic Love End This ends with Sasazuka not fighting to keeping them together, so he and Ichika have to separate because of their jobs. He does give her a pretty necklace in parting though.
—————
Kageyuki Shiraishi Bad Ends
Tumblr media
Shiraishi has five Bad Ends, including his Tragic Love End
Bad End 1 Ichika is killed by Rika Sugawara, just for running into her. Whoops.
Bad End 2 Shiraishi confronts Zero on his own, resulting in him getting killed.
Bad End 3 Ichika fails in negotiating with the twins, which results in her getting shot.
Bad End 4, His Tragic Love End Ichika becomes a part of Adonis, becoming a killer numb to any emotion, or pretty much anything. Shiraishi is ‘given’ to her as a pet, with his vocal chords taken out, eternally crying in his failure to protect Ichika.
Bad End 5 Ichika succeeded in killing Zero, but he activates the poison in her collar, like in Shiraishi’s good ending. And Shiraishi administers the antidote, same as his good ending. The only difference between this and his ‘Good End’ is that he is straight up honest with, telling her they are lovers, and they stay in the underground forever, because she needs to recover, and… well, he is a wanted criminal.
I feel bad to say this a lot less fucked up than his actual ‘Good End’  :/

Kei Okazaki Bad Ends
Tumblr media
Okazaki has five Bad Ends, including his Tragic Love End
Bad End 1 Ichika follows Yasahiro Isshiki, and then is killed by Hanako. Again.
This is becoming a trend.
Bad End 2 Okazaki confronts Ichika when he sees the collar. However, since it sounded like she was conspiring with Rika Sugawara, Okazaki gives her the cold shoulder instead of learning the whole truth. Because of his threat to tell his superiors about the collar, Ichika dies via the poison in her collar.
Bad End 3 Ichika doesn’t accept the idea of her dying very well, which results in her being afraid of Okazaki, especially after he had pulled his gun on her before. Because of her cowardly unwillingness, Okazaki tried to distance himself, hating her cowardice. One final confrontation results in the line: “You weren’t the one I was meant to protect.”
He is then taken out by Adonis, a death without meaning, his worst fear.
Bad End 4 Where Ichika and Okazaki have to get out of explosive-riddled park, but Ichika chooses to pursue Sanjou, on her own, and almost gets killed, had it not been for Okazaki, who dies in her stead. At least he dies happy :/
Bad End 5, His Tragic Love End Where Ichika missed the shot and is actually killed this time. Okazaki is distraught and considers killing himself. He only just barely manages to stop himself from pulling the trigger on himself before Zero finds them and kills Okazaki himself.
—————
Aiji Yanagi Bad Ends
Tumblr media
Yanagi has seven Bad Ends, including his Common Route Bad End and his Tragic Love End
Bad End 1, His Common Route Bad End This is achieved by too many wrong answers and don’t pick a specific route, which leads to Adonis thinking Ichika truly hasn’t pursued the X Day crimes seriously, so Zero kills her via the poison in her collar.
Bad End 2 Ichika follows Kazuki on her own, without Yanagi, which means she meets Yasahiro Isshiki on her own. He finds out she’s a cop and pushed her out, where she meets Hanako.
You can guess where it goes from here.
Bad End 3 We miss the shot on the hostage situation, hitting the hostage by accident, inciting the perp, Yanagi isn’t fast enough to stop the perp and Ichika is shot. He is distraught by the turn of events, and same for the reader if you’ve finished his route before doing the Bad Ends, like me.
Bad End 4 Ichika confronts Saeki, the leader of Adonis and Zero's real identity, and raises her gun on him. He then knocks her out and kidnaps her to his hideout. When Ichika wakes up, she’s surrounded by the bodies of Yanagi, Okazaki, Enomoto, and Shiraishi, all killed by the automatic defense system. Saeki comes to her, offering his hand, asking if she wants to help him rid the world of malice and sorrow.
In her grief, Ichika takes his hand, only mentally vowing to get rid of the root of the problem, him, with her own hands.
Bad End 5 What I like to call the ‘Ichika Goes Yandere’ Ending.
X Day happens as planned, meaning everyone is living in fear of the terrorist organization, including Ichika.
She locks herself and Kazuki in the apartment, Yanagi comes by and is taken in himself, Ichika so scared and paranoid, she literally threatens him bodily harm if he tries to go back out, where it was clearly not safe. Yanagi is regretful that he couldn’t save her from her fear and paranoia. He stays with her to soothe her worries.
Bad End 6 Saeki dies from the open fire of the SWAT team, probably because we didn’t report it to Morioka and Minegishi about us wanting a word with him. When Saeki shot Yanagi, it sent off the warning to the team and they open fire.
With his dying breath, he sets off a bomb. Yanagi dies protecting Ichika, and she goes off to rid the world of sorrow, because of her loss of Yanagi and Saeki.
Bad End 7, His Tragic Love End Saeki is the faster shot and he gets Yanagi, multiple times, but doesn’t kill him. Ichika gets a good shot in and kills Saeku, right through the heart.
Because of the trauma of killing him (basically proving his point, that she can kill to protect someone, even if it was someone she had previously cared about), Ichika was sent home because of the shock, and hasn’t been seen since. Yanagi leaves us by looking for her as hard as he can.
———-
Tumblr media
The closest thing that could be considered a Normal Ending would be Sasazuka’s Tragic Love End, where they have separate because of their jobs with minimal drama, just a quiet parting of ways.
My first official Bad End was in Okazaki’s route, right around the time I got the title postholder image. It was my first time tempting fate in the game (not the last time either) and I was heart-broken as a result. Still didn’t teach me to not tempt fate though.
My favorite Bad End has to be Okazaki’s Tragic Love End, where Ichika actually dies in this end. It actually had me on my edge of my seat, especially once the cg popped up. Okazaki is mentally anguished, seriously considering taking his own life because Ichika needlessly lost hers. Only in the last few moments does he pull the gun from his head, giving you some bit of hope, that he could move on.
Unfortunately, Zero finds him, twists some words, and shoots Okazaki himself, snuffing out any shred of hope.
I love the high emotions in this one, how there is still just a bit of hope for a bittersweet ending, that Okazaki could be okay after Ichika’s death, that he could be okay and move on.
But no, that hope was snuffed out by Zero’s trigger and everything was lost.
Probably my most what the fuck moment was with Shiraishi’s last ending, which plays close to his Good End, but is thankfully shorter.
Like I mentioned in the insert, I find this ending less fucked up than his Good End, and that is a tad frightening.
Compared to his ‘Good’ Ending, he doesn’t lie to her, he straight up calls them lovers. She still has amnesia, but at least he doesn’t lie to her. Sure, they’re still in the underground, but at least he doesn’t try to distance himself from her by caring for her as her ‘doctor’, only to distance himself further when she’s well enough to rejoin society, dumping her on Yanagi, and turns himself in to the authorities.
I’m still broke from Shiraishi’s Good Ending, okay?

Bad End Roundup: Collar x Malice
Tumblr media
Bad End Roundups is where I give reactions to the bad ends and Normal Ends of an otome, usually because I tend to leave all the bad or normal ends until I've completed all of the Good Ends I can. This isn't the case with every game, as some I'll get a bad end the first time through, especially with blind playthroughs. In general, however, this is my rule of thumb when I play otomes.
And, as you can probably figure, these are going to be riddled with spoilers, for the entire game.
Just a fair warning.
Out of all of the bad ends I've played so far, this game takes the more serious path. There aren't any gag endings, where the ending is so ridiculous that you can't take it seriously. There aren't really any normal endings either, just the Tragic Love Ends, where it varies on how much this ending hurts your soul.
Now, into the Bad End Roundup, starting with… the common route!
Final spoiler warning here, folks!
------------------
Common Route
Tumblr media
‘Report it’ Ending Ichika goes against the strict warnings from the collar and tell Mochida about what happened to her, show him the collar and everything.
This results in the collar injecting the poison into her system, and, thus, kills her. Whoops.
‘Rather Do It Myself’ Ending This end is when Ichika doesn't choose a specific route and are basically trying to solve the X Day crimes alone without input from the others. But there is too much for her to analyze on her own, overwhelming her, and X Day comes as a result, and she’s too late to stop it.
--------------
Mineo Enomoto Bad Ends
Tumblr media
Enomoto has six Bad Ends, one of them being his Tragic Love End.
Bad End 1 This one involves taking a more dangerous shortcut home. This forced Ichika to run into Manabu, the gamer dude, where he shoots her. Whoops.
Bad End 2 This one involves Ichika getting information from Satake, Enomoto’s old superior and mentor. Unfortunately, she are too cautious in her approach and he doesn't give the information. This leads indirectly to Ichika’s death, because she wasn't proactive enough.
This results in her shooting Kazuki, her little brother.
She doesn't take this very well, as she then proceed to shoot her multiple times in a blind rage.
Ichika is quicker to react and shoot him, straight in the heart.
----------
Takeru Sasazuka Bad Ends
Tumblr media
Sasazuka has six Bad Ends, one of them being his Tragic Love End
Bad End 1 Ichika goes into the park to find Suzune, one of the twins, there. Suzune goes off on her for showing basic human concern and proceeds to choke her. Suzune’s brother, Shion, comes along to his sister choking poor Ichika. He stops her, briefly, until it's revealed that Ichika’s a cop.
He does take off Ichika's collar in a very sweet scene (where he drugs her though, unfortunately) and disappears into the night.
Bad End 6, His Tragic Love End This ends with Sasazuka not fighting to keeping them together, so he and Ichika have to separate because of their jobs. He does give her a pretty necklace in parting though.
---------------
Kageyuki Shiraishi Bad Ends
Tumblr media
Shiraishi has five Bad Ends, including his Tragic Love End
Bad End 1 Ichika is killed by Rika Sugawara, just for running into her. Whoops.
Bad End 2 Shiraishi confronts Zero on his own, resulting in him getting killed.
Bad End 3 Ichika fails in negotiating with the twins, which results in her getting shot.
Bad End 4, His Tragic Love End Ichika becomes a part of Adonis, becoming a killer numb to any emotion, or pretty much anything. Shiraishi is 'given’ to her as a pet, with his vocal chords taken out, eternally crying in his failure to protect Ichika.

It may not be relevant to the story... But I mean how did Hanako meet her boyfriend?! And when reader went to shrines with Irie and Hanako?? I can only imagine how those went.
Hanako's coworkers needed a third for their goukon (mixer/group blind date.) She tagged along and met Ryuji there. Her coworkers were annoyed that she's the only one who came out of it with a date. Ryuji is a nice boy.
Shrine visiting went normally. They'd go at midnight. Irie is weak to the cold and Hanako gets sleepy so they never stayed long after praying. Irie always secretly hoped Reader would wear a kimono, but she never went to the trouble. The Reader prays for success at work, Hanako prays for good health, and Irie prays for love success 😆

Hanako~ Irie~ It's so nice to speak to you two like this! I do hope you two are enjoying these questions everyones giving you?
Anon~ I reallteq1
Heya, It’s Hanako! ❀  I am sooo happy that I got to answer some questions! I’m pretty busy so I don’t get to hang out often, and sometimes I feel a little left out because of it. But talking to everyone has really cheered me up. TYSM! I love you all. Feel free to come talk to me any time; you’re always welcome.     Love, Hanako ❀
As I was saying, Anon~ I really had a lot of fun answering everything, even though everyone was ruthlessly personal! We love answering these questions. And not just questions about us, feel free to talk to us about any questions you have. We’ll do our best to answer, although SOME of us aren’t too bright.   See you later! ~Manabu Irie
EDIT: It’s me, I’m not the bright one. Miura-sama is surprisingly obviously very worldly and knowledgeable. ~Manabu Irie
