i've broken it down to its bare essentials
This is— simply put— fucking perfect.
My three most favorite babygirls in the most unlikely, unhinged, and frightfully accurate chart— perfection.
For anyone out there who just happened to love those three babygirls, Dream of the Endless, Kaladin Stomblessed and Anakin Skywalker— you'd get it.
Bisexual babygirl, magic powers edgelord.

Disabled Characters in the Showdown Currently
Notes:
1.) This list is subject to change, so if you see it off a reblog, please check the link to this post here. At some point this will probably stop updating, as we tend to forget to. Before we kick off the showdown there will be another post. Characters are under the cut, the list is currently unorganized, but might get organized later.
2.) If you see a character on here and you want to submit propaganda for them please feel free to, there is no submission limit or character per fandom limit. Here is the link to the submission form. Characters from the prior round of this showdown are fair game except Toph, Toothless and Hiccup. Additionally, most characters from @gay-disabled-characters-showdown are also fair game.
3.) The amount of submissions will not affect how likely a character is to get into the showdown. If you submitted a character and they are not here, we probably just haven’t gotten to verifying your character yet. If it’s been more than 3-4 days since you submitted the character you can shoot us an ask as to why they are not on the list, it might be an error on our part.
4.) When will submissions close? We have no fucking clue. At the earliest sometime October, as we are still working on setting up over @gay-disabled-characters-showdown which is still accepting submissions here. Additionally, as we need to write image descriptions it takes us a ridiculous amount of time to get set up.
5.) If you think a character doesn’t qualify you can send us an ask or leave a comment, and we can show you the explanation we have for the character as to how they count.
7.) If there is a character or media on here you think is problematic you can send us an ask and we will evaluate. That being said it’s not about being the best most perfect representation.

I think Kaladin Stormblessed has every right to bitchslap Anakin Skywalker.
Anakin did a lot of terrible stuff completely independently and of his own free will; among others, he murdered an entire family of sandpeople. Even if he was provoked, he attacked people who wouldn't have been involved and that's messed up (and the fact that they kidnapped and tortured Shmi is both contrived and really racist on Lucas' part--it's way too similar to propaganda that was used against Native Americans.) You could argue Palpatine was manipulating Anakin, but ultimately he's responsible for his own actions. He had maybe two nightmares about Padme dying and then turned evil with absolutely zero evidence Palpatine could actually help Padme. And then he slaughtered pretty much the only family he had left (the Jedi were a family!)
Meanwhile Kaladin was being actively tortured every night for weeks, had multiple people he had sworn to protect even though personally he disliked them murdered in front of him just to get to him, or to try to push him toward being a hypocrite, and then had one of his closest friends murdered. And he didn't go on a wilful killing spree, he killed one person who was actually a threat.
Kaladin deserves to tell Anakin that Anakin has the moral backbone of a limp piece of rhubarb.

This is my non comprehensive and unfinished list of Drift Compatible pairs
Drift compatible
Leverage
Eliot and parker:
They just are, they both love hardison but he’s better at being tech support outside the drift. Plus, they really only trust him to be monitoring them. They both know how to take emotion out of the problem when necessary.
Person of Interest
John and Shaw:
Chaos twins, need I say more? Actually I’m gonna, people were a bit afraid trying to find a pairing for them because of their pasts (epecially john and Cara who were a brutal team that wrecked John when Cara died) and were afraid they might make things worse for each other, but they actually leveled each other out to a shocking degree because the machine (a doctor in this case) saw what most people don’t, that they deeply care about justice, they’re compassionate, and have a strong sense of right and wrong-it’s just that for them the end justifies the means to a degree others might not feel.
Doctor Who
Ten and Donna:
I think Donna could also be compatible with nine, and it takes her a minute with ten, but they do get there, they make each other better.
Stormlight Archive
Kal and Moash former:
ok this one is odd because I think they were pushed to pilot together and it worked for a bit, especially whenever kaladin’s mental health is declining, but they stopped him piloting because of that and when he got better he couldn’t drift with Moash anymore. Moash found someone who’s destructive like him and Kaladin ended up with Syl. Shallan and him are oddly compatible but there was a bit too much tension with Adolin and Kaladin could tell she was hiding something, which after Moash freaked him out.
Adolin and Maya
Adolin used to drift with Dalinar but Dalinar retired and he stayed a loner until Maya, he was compatible with Renarin but Renarin was too sick to actually pilot. Maya is so quiet people didn’t think it would work but Adolin is used to Renarin and isn’t as much of a dumb jock as people think. People don’t understand that Dalinar and Adolin worked well because they fight the same AND they’re both very smart.
Stranger things
Steve and Robin:
Robin didn’t trust him at first but their first drift test percentage was so shockingly high that afterword they spent like days together getting to know each other. Most likely people in the base to be throwing potential partners at each other
Psych
Shawn and Gus:
https://www.tumblr.com/hmslusitania/745431572726038528/shawn-and-gus-are-drift-compatible-but-under-no
Owl House
Amity and Hunter:
I think this one would take some work, but say they got paired together in their overachiever/my worth is tied to performance phase. They would fall out of synch for a bit, but would come back together later courtesy of Luz (who I don’t think is great at the drift -following the rabbit is an issue- but can spot good pairings/pilots a mile away, and helps people get to where they need to be mentally) (side note, I could see her as an adult actually being great at temporary pairings, once she’s self assured enough that’s she’s stable in herself she can adjust to be what a person needs for emergency situations)
Star Wars
Anakin and Obi-wan (pre darkside):
I don’t think I need to justify this one, but Obi-wan suffers extremely when the bond is broken in drift
Han and Chewbacca:
Similar to the Shawn/gus scenario on the surface, but they will actually refrain from major property damage (probably)
Jyn and Cassian:
This one also is a growing to be compatible situation, but they fit better than they expected, he thought she was too selfish, she thought he wouldn’t trust her or compromise, turns out they work wonderfully together
Baze and Chirrut:
It took them a few years but they’re like the most stable and dependable pairing, despite Chirruts tendency to charge towards danger
I’m definitely right about all of these but I will accept additions!

Once again, I had several thoughts. The first was Jin, because gray cat. The second was Kaladin seeing flowering in Shinovar for the first time. But stick with me, I think it's actually Vader/Anakin in the fics where he’s on Luke’s/the Rebles side, but still Vader. Does that make sense?

end of year fanfic asks!!
#4 and #23 ? 😊
4. Total number of words you wrote this year?
Posted on A03: 75,600
Not completed/not posted: 22, 869
TOTAL: 98,469
Holy FUCKING shit I didn't realize I wrote anywhere near that much??😱😱😱 I think I can make it to 100,000 by the end of the month...new goal!!
23. Fics you wanted to write but didn't?
Oh man, sooooo many! A few of the ones I have ideas for but haven't even started (other than making notes):
TDP/Rayllum FBI AU (the result of a 3am brain wave while on call, on my 5th cup of coffee and binging Criminal Minds). Rayla is the team hotshot, Crow Master is the tech/communications guy and when their sketch artist is out sick, Soren “knows a guy” and brings in Callum to help them out
Star Wars YJK/NJO Modern AU featuring biker Jaina, mechanic Anakin Solo, and environmental activist Jacen. They're all chillin in the American Southwest trying to keep a low proflile despite Leia currently serving as President
Stormlight Archive Fullmetal Alchemist AU where, if you mess with the timeline a little bit, Kaladin bonds Tien's soul to Helaran's Shardplate. Cue a quest to get their bodies back by finding Lost City of the Radiants
From these fanfic end of the year asks

Kaladin vs. Anakin Skywalker
okay. okay I am rewatching the star wars prequels.... and I’m just thinking...daaamn...Anakin’s story mirrors Kaladin’s in a lot of ways. Is this where Brandon Sanderson is going with all of this?!?!
They're both exceptional prodigies at what they do
They both follow ideals
They are both scared of losing the ones they love, to the point where it cripples their perspective on the bigger picture
They are both selfless in their actions but could use their power to further their own selfish/selfless goals (like with Anakin, he technically was selfless in turning to the dark side to save Padme. With Kaladin, I think the setup is there for him to turn to Odium if there was a potential to save/resurrect Tien or someone similarly close to him)
They both have a ‘darkness’ within them
They were both ordered to stand down by their superiors. I believe Kaladin still has the potential to turn...and become...ODIUM’S CHAMPION
Yes. I think there are bigger things in store for Kaladin.
I truly think it would be an interesting twist if Kaladin ended up becoming Odium’s champion, and Moash being the one to redeem his own actions while saving his old friend in the process.
I wonder if Brandon was inspired by Star wars at all? The similarities sure are uncanny.

For the deep fic writer asks game, number 3
(deep fic writer asks here)
3. what fic are you emotionally attached to?
oooh. i would say it's up to me (no one else can say what i get to be), which is my soulmate au wherein anakin and padme break up. lots of aro feelings in that one
and for cosmere fics, since you're mostly a cosmere person - didn't realize 'till just in time. perhaps unsurprising, but i loved writing transfem kaladin so much and the comments i get on that fic are so lovely
(*mean girls voice* get in losers we're queering the text)

hmm. i dont write much nor do i really post that writing but something abt kaladin and adolin just scratches at my brain. like why are these guys friends. how did they become friends when both of them seem pretty much firmly like "yeah hes okay but id never tell him a single thing about my personal life if he didnt ask, and even then its iffy". and in the grand tradition of Me Being The Obi-Wan And Anakin Friendship Guy for the back half of 2020. how do you get characters like that to have one (1) emotional vulnerability moment, like, out loud

maybe it's bc i'm obsessed with found family tropes but i can't stop thinking about the potential for a kaladin & lift dynamic! he's got such big brother energy and it would be nice if he had someone to cheer him up other than syl... idk i just think they're neat :)))
YEA i was actually expecting they'd interact more this book just cause of like......the sheer amount of sibling potential they have. kinda big anakin and ahsoka vibes actually if uve seen tcw like yeah she's gonna roast the hell out of him but also she has twice his emotional intelligence and he could use someone to practice his bad puns on. and kal was such a good brother to tien when he was lifts age so maybe she needs someone to confide in about what she's going through growing up too......kaladin's love language is overwhelming support and allowing the other person to make fun of him.

A Brief Analysis of Clone Wars Characters Via Knights Radiant Orders
Ahsoka Tano:
It’s been stated that the Edgedancers are the most religious of the Knights Radiant orders. Faith, I believe, is a cornerstone of Ahsoka’s character; faith in the Jedi Order, losing that faith and gaining it in herself, not to mention her faith in Anakin.
A good chunk of her character arc is centered around the common man, learning the plights of the disenfranchised and living up to what the majority of people believe Jedi to stand for without the restrictions of political alignments. Edgedancer ideals fit Ahsoka’s overall arc.
Second Ideal: “I will remember those who have been forgotten.”
Third Ideal: “I will listen to those who have been ignored.”
Edgedancers have the ability to ignore friction which I feel would be well-suited to Ahsoka’s fighting style.
“...they were elegant things of beauty. They could ride the thinnest rope at speed, dance across rooftops, move through a battlefield like a ribbon on the wind.” – Edgedancer, page 4.
“When Simol was informed of the arrival of the Edgedancers, a concealed consternation and terror, as is common in such cases, fell upon him; although they were not the most demanding of orders, their graceful, limber movements hid a deadliness that was, by this time, quite renowned…” – Words of Radiance, page 20.
Captain Rex:
This might be a controversial choice considering what we know of clones, but Rex is a bondsmith. Sure Honor is a whole, veritable, god on Roshar but Rex is a bondsmith and you can pry that from my cold dead hands.
What do I have for evidence of this? Why, the Second Ideal of course.
“I unite instead of divide. I will bring men together.”
Rex watching his brothers being forced to break their oaths of honor and kill their spren all for Palpatine’s agenda. That hits different, bro.
Honestly, I don’t think I need to go any further but for the sake of it I will.
Having a clone, who many consider to be less than, climb the ranks and become a must in terms on long term warfare just feels good. Long story short, Rex is irreplaceable and he deserves an order which maximizes how irreplaceable he truly is.
Commander Cody:
Here we have our first windrunner proper.
Cody is a good man, a loyal man, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t suffer the same ideological differences and hypocrises that plague the Republic. The side he serves condemns slavery and yet he himself and his millions of brothers are a slaves. He is a tool for war yet trying to bring peace. He fights to end the war and yet the Republic refuses to open peace talks.
He’d be the closest to Kaladin, in terms of practically everything; Cody is a child of Honor.
Cody knows how the universe works so he settles on his own code of honor. He will protect those who cannot protect themselves, regardless of his personal feelings toward them. He knows he can’t save everyone, but what’s most important is that he try. Somebody needs to.
Padme Amidala:
Like Rex, Padme would be well-suited to the bondsmiths. She aims to unite instead of divide. But given her role in TCW, however, and her role as the one who steps up to call out people and be the one to spend her life trying to better society, Padme is an elsecaller.
She’s a diplomat at heart, individualistic and esoteric. Padme follows her own logic and goes out on the front line when she deems it necessary. At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter what Anakin or the Jedi or the Republic says, Padme abides by her own moral compass and what makes sense to her.
“...the Elsecallers were prodigiously benevolent, allowing others as auxiliary to their visits and interactions; though they never did relinquish their place as prime liaisons with the great ones of the spren…”
She is a senator who creates connections between peoples.
Queen Padme Amidala and Queen Jasnah Kholin, while having a lot of political differences and different approaches to warfare, would get along famously.
Padme contributes to the war effort by soulcasting food, medicine, and other necessary materials.
Anakin Skywalker:
Here’s where things get complicated.
If we’re going purely by plot, then Anakin is a skybreaker since that is one of the only orders that suit his personality which would still allow him to “fall to the dark side” while maintaining his oaths.
Also, I’m not going to slide past it. My URL is anakin-skybreaker for fuck’s sake. It would be a crime against nature for a man named Skywalker not to have gravitation manipulation like come on, he was born to fly.
It’s just too good, too fitting. I can also see Anakin saying some variant of Kaladin’s line in Words of Radiance, but during a version of the Rako Hardeen arc. “You sent him to the sky to die, assassin, but the sky and winds are mine. I claim them, as I now claim your life.” Though entirely separate, the two have roughly the same amount of melodramatic entrances.
On the other hand, if we’re going for what’s best for Anakin as a person then he’d be either a windrunner or a dustbringer (releaser). The Fourth windrunner ideal says more than I ever could. “I accept that there will be those I cannot save.” Anakin is fueled by ambition so there’s no way he wouldn’t make it to the fourth ideal and then be forced to come to terms with himself and his fears or risk stagnation (or worse breaking his oaths and killing his spren).
As a dustbringer, Anakin would be taught how to control and channel his destructive/violent impulses. Dustbringers get a bad reputation because of their capabilities for mass destruction and because of that shared prejudice, I feel that might help Anakin settle in even quicker than he would in the other orders. Like if he were a windrunner, Anakin would be forced to confront aspects of his personality and truly learn restrain and responsibility.
“Most Dustbringers were tinkers who liked to take things apart to see how they work.”
Dustbringer spren canonically love to break stuff. So, Anakin making friends with a spren that wants him to break stuff because it wants to know what’s inside? 10/10
Obi Wan Kenobi:
A lightweaver in personality and a windrunner in mentality.
It hardly needs saying that Obi Wan is an honorable man. It would come to the point where, even as a renowned lightweaver other people would make comments on it. How he’d be better suited to the windrunners, how “I could’ve sworn you bonded an honorspren” and stuff like that.
Lightweaver ideals are tailored towards the individual, but generally follow the pattern of admitting personal truths. Obi Wan has more than a few truths to admit to himself. He and Anakin would be having an argument, only for his liespren to chime in to call him out going, “mm, lies” and forcing the two to actually talk out their feelings.
He would be Grand Spymaster of the Republic. Obi Wan is already known as the Negotiator, so he’d arrive at the palace of a government he needs to win over for the Republic dressed to the nines, positively glowing, standing at imposing six foot five, where underneath the lightweaving he’s going on three hours of sleep, is wearing yesterday’s clothes, and hasn’t combed his hair in three days.
He’s a lightweaver, but for the life of me I cannot get the image of Windrunner Obi Wan vs. Skybreaker Anakin, battle of Mustafar style, out of my head because the concept of them both being able to control gravity while representing opposite ideologies slaps okay?
Plus, Obi Wan would look immaculate in Kholin blue.
Anakin being busy blowing stuff up, turning canons to dust while Ahsoka skates past him as if solid ground were made of ice cutting through squads of droids while Obi Wan wears the face of the enemy leader and convinces them to surrender? 20/10
Maul:
This one is a lightweaver too and for the same reasons as Obi Wan.
He’s a charismatic bastard and he’d used his abilities to their maximum destructive potential. Just like in Clone Wars, he’d topple governments and overtake civilizations from the inside out.
Lightweavers are not bound by honor so Maul can pretty much do what he wants so long as he’s able to admit truths about himself. Whether he’s successful in doing so remains to be seen.
An important sidenote, Maul has Nightblood.
Maul would have Nightblood and everybody would be in danger.
