ls it just me, but despite the fantastic fantastic acting from Emma D'arcy and Harry Collet, I couldn't cry? And if there were any tears welling my body wouldn't let them out because I felt like I was being to forced by the writing to care about them? And usually I cry super easily, I'm a sensitive baby. But like I'm just utterly bored of everyone on TB!!!

People compare them to the Starks but I don't see it? The Starks were incredibly interesting! Rhaenyras sons seem to be just culled from a Disney Family Movie.

I initially started leaning TG only because I couldn't find any ounce of sympathy or understanding for Alicent's situation that much, I didn't really even care for her. Now I just can't stand how obviously biased the show runners are with how they fucked up blood and cheese. It also ruined the opportunity to make TB actually interesting! Why are they so afraid to make the greens sympathetic?? I'm sooo utterly bored of TB!!!!!!!!!

Rhaenyra is a plain Mary Sue, I hate when people compare her to Daenerys. None of her children are interesting and I just absolutely despise Daemon and have NO idea why women simp for him.

Every time Alicent and especially her children come up on screen I'm just extremely intrigued. I cannot say the same for any character on TB. The only saving grace for TB is my love for Emma D'arcy but that's about it.

I love Emma and Rhaenyra's character could have been so interesting if it was not framed as the character you should be rooting for "just because". Her narrative as a rightful ruler of Westeros is skewed and uninteresting because everything was handed to Rhaenyra on a silver platter.

I ADORE the greens because they are fighting tooth and nail with themselves, their imperfections, their outside influences, society's norms, pressures from centuries of indoctrination, and others' manipulation. Rhaenyra is fighting against what exactly? She would be more interesting to me if she was more flawed like you said, more eager to go out there and claim her rights, and less keen on being miss-goody-two-shoes for the viewers. Daemon is interesting because precisely he is so evil and horrible.

I also did not cry at all at this episode which is a shame because B&C is one of the worst, if not THE WORST event that GRRM has ever written and we got a minute of some reimagination of it. I wasn't at all pleased with how the writers and producers treated it and I was so disappointed at how they portrayed Helaena and did not give way to her grief and suffering. Let's see if they do so in episode 2.

TB are definitely not the Starks, and I'm glad the show does a poor job with TB's revered and immaculate portrayal because it would upset me if they tried to replace or replicate the Starks.

I'm also extremely intrigued by Alicent, Aegon, Aemond, Helaena, Otto, Larys, and Criston, and they are the main reason I will be watching S2 this summer.

This is my two cents on the live action snow white movie as a theater kid, cosplayer, Disney princess lover, and snow white doppelganger.

1-Snow white. Now before you come after me for talking about the actress this is NOT because she isn't white, she is a beautiful actress and imo her not being white doesn't matter, racism is not tolerated on my blog. The only thing I have "against" her is the snippet of her singing that we've gotten. Her voice is beautiful, but not right for snow white. In the snippet of her singing "whistle while you work" It feels too heavy for the character. In my opinion someone with a more operatic voice would've fit the role more. There are other Disney princess roles that would suit her voice better, but snow white needs someone with a softer voice.

2 (part A)- The dress. The dress sucks, you can't change my mind. It's so ugly. The yellow color they made her skirt looks so tacky and bright, same with the blue. The material they made her skirt out of looks so costumy and it's way too puffy. the bodice isn't super bad, but, the waistline is weird and the lace up thing that's going on in the front feels out of place. Her sleeves are cool I guess? There are many examples of Disney butchering the dress in live action adaptations (ex. Beauty and the beast), but they also have some good examples where they do the dress justice (ex. Cinderella), it's always kinda a hit or miss with Disney. I've done theater for years, and I've been in two productions of beauty and the beast the musical (one with a local theater and one with my hs theater), both times with belles dress they have knocked it out of the park, I'm not being biased they have made some horrid costumes believe me, but, both times I saw belles yellow dress for the first time it was so amazing and beautiful. Cosplayers are another good example of making Disney princess dresses look good. one of my cosplay mutuals made an Ariel dress, yes it was teal (but that's a discussion for another post), but it felt so real. It didn't look costumy at all, and the material looked so nice and everything looked like it's belonged. If theater departments and cosplayers with a limited budget can make Disney dresses better than DISNEY then that shows how much effort they really put into their movies. Also what's with the necklace? I know it's probably gonna be incorporated into the story like "her mom gave it to her before she died" or something because Disney loves to do that but it just looks like they started recording and she forgot to take her necklace off.(If you want to hear more I recommend lovebunnycos's videos, you can find them on tiktok and Instagram)

2 (part B)- the hair and makeup. I have been told countless times that I look like snow white (not really right now because my hair is purple and in a pixie cut) especially when my hair is in a bob, Im very pale,I have a round face, and I always dye my hair black, so I unintentionally look like her (on the dl she's one of my least fav princesses so I'm not trying to brag💔). I'm not trying to be biased or anything when I say this but her hair sucks. It does not look flattering on this beautiful actress. Its cut weird and it looks very unnatural. I see what they were trying to do with it at the ends but it was not executed well. I like that they gave her brown hair because black just wouldn'tve looked good imo, but other than that it just looks bad. Now her makeup, it's not bad at all but I do think it needs tweaked. First I would give her more blush on the apples of her cheeks, on her chin, and on her nose. It would really add to the cartoon look and definitely make her look younger (I'm not saying she doesn't look young it's just snow white is literally a child). I think using contour to make her face rounder and adding more red to the lips would add a lot more to the look. Other than that I don't really have any complaints about the makeup. Also where did her bow go? I loved the bow :(

3.- The dwarfs. What are you doing Disney? They got rid of them but then brought them back but made them cgi because they wanted to be PC but in turn became less PC. Just hire little people?? Little people exist, they don't bite. Just hire seven people with dwarfism and leave your weird cgi for animals. Literally what was Disney thinking making them cgi? Again just Disney not caring or putting any effort in their live action movies.

4- yapping. Disney needs to stop with live action movies. I know there are people who love live action adaptations, and I've enjoyed a few of them. With Cinderella it was fun! Jungle book was cool, and then lion king everyone was tired. If they need more ideas they need to hire younger writers. There are tons of new stories out there that will never reach people because Disney's too busy cranking out live action cash grabs and sequels to movies that don't need to be tampered with. It's gotten so bad that the Internet will believe anyone if they say another movie is being made into live action (ex. "Live action" tangled, where Avantika Vandanapu was harassed for being fan casted as repunzle.). I think if Disney really wants to make more money they should put more effort into their movies and listen to what the audience want. Disney hasn't been original in decades, every movie is a remake of something, but you could take an already made story and make it interesting in other ways.

No matter what I say it's not gonna change anything. I'm a teenage girl ranting on Tumblr and Disney is a giant multi million dollar company run by white rich men who only care about money. It's just nice thinking some people will hear what I have to say and agree with it, even tho it won't change the bigger picture.

I can change a familys life though. Disney doesn't care about people dying or what's happening on the other side of the world, but we as individuals can. ⬇️

this time in my baldur's gate 3 playthrough, i finish wyll's personal quest and have a lot of thoughts about him! which mainly boil down to: larian did him very dirty, and i'm sad about it because i wanted to be able to love his story more. i try to be concious of the way that fandom as a whole is very biased against black characters, and as a lover of fairytales and disney movies i think the fact that wyll is just genuinely good and kind the whole time and is basically like if a disney prince became a warlock is cool! i think that's an awesome concept and larian could've done so much more with him, because i don't believe that characters need to be edgy and morally gray to be interesting and complex! but i feel like the writers themselves were biased against wyll because his story is so lacking in polish and so underwhelming adkjsfghf. i'll just have to choose to seek out fanworks that expand on the potential he had. anyway. rest of my thoughts are below the cut as usual.

the iron throne mission was very nervewracking lol but in a fun way!! it took me multiple tries to get my strategy figured out, and i ended up bringing several elemental summons to help do the fighting and misty step/dimension door scrolls to help everyone get around. thank god omeluum had a spell that could teleport gale out of there, because i was worried he wasn't going to make it and i'd have to try again when i was so close to finally saving all the prisoners. and i did save them all, though again it was a close call with some of them! i just wish i would've been also able to read the notes and such that i saw around.

got jumpscared by the waveservants coming to attack us for siding with redhammer, and then uhhh, redhammer died during the battle and now i feel bad :( i mean, i tried to keep him alive but he did not exactly make it easier by running directly toward the enemies and trying to fight them!

oh well. i'll have to try harder to keep him safe on another playthrough. i think it's a huge shame that you only get that sexy robe if you side with the waveservants though... i need to mod it into my game later. for science.

DAMN DOES ULDER REALLY HAVE TO BE SO MEAN TO WYLL... i mean, okay, i guess i can understand that he didn't have any idea what really happened between wyll and mizora, but i wish he could've had a bit more faith in his son instead of calling him a monster. ugh i just feel so bad for wyll, but i really am glad they finally got a chance to patch things up.

next, i went to the steel watch foundry and had gale take the lead in sneaking our way through the gates with magic... except we got caught by the steel watcher and wyll--who for some reason became the controlled character there even though i definitely had gale selected to cast fog cloud and knock?--lied to it and convinced it that it let us in. after that i got extremely annoyed by the combat lol. the fight on the main floor was really easy, but the one in the basement? i hope you didn't need to save all the gondians, because i tried so many times and ended up just giving up... in the end, only two of them (aside from zanner toobin) had the brain cells to stay up above instead of suicidally misty stepping into the face of every enemy, so those were the only two who survived. why does the AI keep being like this lmao??

there are a lot of hints about what the iron throne even is and how to get there scattered around the foundry, so i'm guessing the story does expect you to come here first! it's fun to explore this area and try to find all the lore tidbits they've scattered around. the steel watchers being controlled by tadpole-infected brains was a total surprise to me and so was being able to actually try and control them yourself. i tried to save the innocent people the watchers were attacking, but my poor low WIS tav just couldn't do it :( i also found... bernard's head?? for some reason, it says "extract", but when i click on that it doesn't do anything. that's really interesting, though--i wish we were able to learn more about lenore.

wulbren is literally such a jackass and does not deserve barcus. i want to yeet him into the ocean. i'm so proud of barcus for standing up for himself, taking over as lead of the ironhands, and telling wulbren to fuck off!!

OH YEAH I FINALLY REMEMBERED to look up a video of the glitched convo about gale's last name. being able to tell him you like gale dekarios better than gale of waterdeep, and the way he responds to that, is soooo rapunzel and eugene coded i'm 🥺🥺🥺 i want to see people make tangled AUs with gale and their tavs now.

i think elenion is reeeeeally skeptical of this whole "staking the future of baldur's gate on a legendary tale" thing and does not believe ansur actually exists, but i suppose he'll seen crazier shit by now so he'll just go with it!

the trials were fun to figure out, and i liked that wyll and gale both had comments on some of them!! wyll offers his help with the trial of justice and comments that he has little experience with lanceboard, and gale gets all excited when you walk up to the lanceboard trial ajksdghdfkjgss he's so cute. he also literally just tells you exactly what to do on that one. thank you gale i love you 💜💜

I GENUINELY WAS NOT WHAT HAPPENED WITH ANSUR THOUGH WHAT!!! i was expecting wyll to get to befriend a dragon and have him as a helper in the final battle but i've gotta admit that was an interesting twist and a fun battle. i'm unsurprised that the emperor is balduran, though, mostly because i've already seen people talk about it, but also they kind of... pretty much say it in the song of balduran?? or at least they heavily hint at it, by including the line "transformed, he fell their thrall". what i am surprised at is ansur x balduran toxic yaoi lmao whaaaat 😭 there's a letter on ansur's body that says "even if i'm not beside you, i will always have been your balduran"... can't believe i'm sad about them now.

augh, the choice of whether or not to encourage wyll to become the grand duke made me feel so torn tbh because like... first of all, i already knew about the blade of avernus ending, and that it's (from what i've heard at least) positioned as his good ending while becoming the duke is positioned as his bad ending akin to everyone else's ascensions, and i know karlach will die if wyll doesn't go to avernus with her. but my character doesn't know any of that! and i genuinely think joining his father to help rebuild the city rather than running around as a vigilante in the hells sounds like a good ending for wyll, as a way for him to do a lot of overall good for others and resolve his issues with his dad by working alongside him? i also think it's what elenion would tell him to do, if only the dialogue options for it weren't all like "think of the power you'll yield!" because they would not fucking say that unless they meant "the power you'll be able to yield to help the people of baldur's gate". man. idk. at least this time, unlike when it came to what to do with his pact, there's an option to trust wyll to make his own choice. so... i chose that. he chose on his own to become the blade of avernus. guess that's that, then.

i'm also just. really underwhelmed by wyll's personal quest in general though ugh 😭 listen i have had wyll in my party for the entire fucking game. his introduction was just so cool that i was instantly drawn to him and never let him leave my party and in my head i roleplayed him and elenion becoming best friends. i love him but his story is just really missing something... the conclusions to shadowheart and astarion's personal quests were so cathartic and made me really emotional but wyll's just Didn't. and i feel like they could've and should've done so much more with it, i mean, he's the son of the grand duke of baldur's gate!!! the game i am playing is called baldur's gate 3!!! i also think it's really weird that he's so torn up about ansur, but not about fucking balduran?? wyll, did you not notice that your hero is the evil mindflayer that lied to all of us and has been causing us trouble for the entire game?? hello?? it just felt like this entire final part of his quest was more about developing the emperor's character than about him. sigh.

i think the ansur stuff could've felt a bit more like it was about wyll if, like, he could ask to be the one to do the trials like how shadowheart can ask you to let her offer her blood at the gauntlet of shar and you get approval from letting her, because then the trials of ansur get to be about him proving his own worthiness as a hero and leader... and if maybe he was automatically selected for the conversation with ansur instead of letting your character do that, and if he had significantly more dialogue and reactivity to all of it.

Discordance, the mother of discourse.

It just occurred to me, after thinking more about @cruelfeline's post - that most of out fandom division is caused by this:

Some of us see the clones as people whereas other fans look at them and see "random token of colonialism/ patriarchy or whatever I hate" instead which leads to all of the discourse.

We can't even agree that we are not looking at the same thing.

The spacebat side of the fandom sees the clones and, implicitly, Hordak - as people, and we have written about them and the difficult journey to freedom and individuality. We see Entrapta and Hordak as perfect for each other, two misfits finding acceptance and love in one another...

The other part of the fandom is so against that notion that they have any dimension beyond that of the classic default villain that any mention of them as anything other than one dimensional mooks of the big bad makes them not listen to anything else you have to say about the topic or worse, attack you as a person for liking these "horrible - *looks at notes* racist, lesbophobic colonialisers". And they hate the fact that such a monster like Hordak wasn't flung from a cliff in generic Disney fashion. They feel that such a canker of a person didn't "deserve the girl and a happy ending"

i watched loki and i gotta say, out of all three mcu series (tf&tws and wandavision), loki is the one that really feels disney 😂in a non-complimentary way. i do like it! it's just not what i thought it was, you know? but anyway i didn't come here to point out flaws. gotta say i kind of love owen wilson as a tva agent and i can see why ppl ship lokius... but also... they really tried to make them buddies didn't they? joke's on you disney, we do what we do best, we ship. and especially when you don't want us to ship we ship😂 (i can see the tenderness of it, he keeps calling loki a "broken boy" and wants to help him ahhh, give me all the comfort fics give them to me.)

Agree about the show ultimately feeling super "Disney" in the end which is a bummer because the first two eps started with ridiculous potential, like the monotonous, slightly eerie vibes in the TVA were just unsettling enough to be fucking fantastic and had that whole retro aesthetic that I love love love then there's the power shift back and forth in the Lokius relationship, don't get me started 😔 Mobius holding all the cards when they first meet but folding asap (taking Loki to Pompeii where he could've easily been overpowered by magic and / or left there to die, giving the daggers back yeah that's right love's a dagger and the Mouse™ is never gonna take that away) because of how much he cares about and respects Loki, the *chef's kiss* of the buddy cop vibes.

Obviously I'm biased because Mobius owns me but imo it would be hard to argue against his absence in ep 3 feeling like hitting pause on what was already going so well and from that point on the series felt purely like a setup for building the multiverse instead of the atmosphere of the TVA and the base of the Lokius relationship because honestly I'd rather watch the two of them talk jetskis and not so subtly gaze at each other with heart eyes ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

He’s apologizing because his actions are having consequences. It wasn’t like these things happened minutes after the videos hit the air. It wasn’t like losing these fundings were the only way he knew what he did was wrong.

It’s not really MY place to determine what exactly absolves him of what he’s done. I’m not Jewish and I’m definitely not the decider of this. I don’t want him to die, I don’t personally advocate for anyone’s death, that’s extreme and speaks to what Markiplier was warning against in his video. Felix certainly hasn’t absolved anything, hiding his videos and doing his best to sweep the entire incident under the rug until it hit the news.

It’s not like it’s a goddamn secret that saying the death of an entire population of people isn’t fuckin racist. That’s common goddamn sense. It’s not funny. It never was funny. It never will be funny. The best thing he could have done was not make it look like he agreed with Nazis in the first place. It’s not like it was a genuine mistake at all. It was intentional, methodical and planned and speaks for Felix’s biases.
