FOR TWENTY MINUTES#madoka magica#anyways even without the immediate context of the preceding six episodes it packs suchhhhh an emotional punch#I have GOT to rewatch the show in full because I’ve never paid that close attention to the pacing#and I’m SO curious about how episode ten works within the context of the rapidly escalating tension + darkening tone#bc in some ways it like. is a break from the story#you get a moment to breathe before the one-two punch of episodes eleven and twelve#but on the other hand it works as a microcosm of the show—albeit with dramatic irony during the cheerful bits—and like.#that’s just a really interesting combination to me I have GOT to figure out exactly what it’s doing
