Ranting about my GCSES for the billionth time on my blog

I finished my GCSES, I'm so happy they are done but I'm absolutely terrified for results day. i find it difficult to judge whether I did good or bad in an exam as my brain loves to be a little delulu and trick me , so i really don't know how to feel.

I'm sure i'll def get a 9 for art becoz I got marked 190/192 for the entire thing which I am so fucking happy about, but I'm scared for the other subjects.

I previously set a goal that I had to get seven 9s out of 10 GCSES, but now I'm really beginning to doubt myself

I got 9s for five subjects in my mocks and I'm scared that I might even do worse than my mocks as I am currently feeling less confident about my real exams than my mocks, which I'm quite sad about

Generally, I tend to get 9s in sciences but I barely scrape the grade boundary every time. I am scared for physics- (especially) as I think I messed up on paper 1. (I do IGCSE edexel) I will also have to pray that the bio mark scheme will not nonsensical bs this year

But what I'm truly terrified about is maths (edexcel IGCSE) and geography (AQA). I fucked up maths paper 1 and I only got 1 end question completely right, I think I got half marks for two others. Not only that, I rushed through the early questions, which is bad as I make careless mistakes very easily. Paper 2 was better, but only slightly. I got an 8 in my mocks which was bad as I desperately, desperately need a 9 to solidify my decisions as I will be doing maths for A level, and getting an 8 would shatter my dreams

Geography paper 1 was easy, but it was a mess at the same time. I write slow so I only had 5 minutes left to complete the whole of glaciation. I think I only got like four marks out of the whole section. Paper 2 was the best paper imo, I hope I got most right. Paper 3 was eh, I also didn't really finish, ( I needed to write 3 more sentences in the last question and I didn't fully finish a 6 marker). I will just have to pray to the geography gods that this won't bring my marks down. The thing is, the exams weren't even hard, I was just so fucking slow- (I'm really pissed)

English was also eh for both lang and lit for me. I have never been good at english since it's kind of my second language, (it's my first language now, but it wasn't four years ago, I'm chinese). I was only aiming for a 7, which is reasonable to my standards, but I'm scared that I won't. I do merchant of venice and sign of four, which are both such irrelevant books, and we got quite shit questions. I found this kinda unfair as the popular ones like Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, Christmas carol, mr jekyll and mr hyde were really easy according to most people. Our questions, unfortunately were really eh. This would raise grade boundaries :(. I have always been bad at poetry, I nearly shed a tear when I saw my last duchess in the exam as I barely revised for it. My teacher never properly taught us this poem as well (it was the least annotated one in my anthology) so I barely had any context. I also played it safe and compared it with Ozymandias. My slow-writing ass also ran out of time to do the dumb 8 marker in the end, which wouldn't help at all. Unseen was also meh, I only got to write 1 page and a bit more. The only essays that truly went well is An Inspector Calls, and maybe Merchant of Venice

Lang wasn't any better, everything I wrote was just so average and general. None of my question 5s were also outstandingly good, which is unfortunate. As a whole, I was lacking in AO2 for all four papers which will also pull my mark down.

French was a mess. I did quite reasonable in all papers, except... the listening paper. I did so so terrible in the listening paper, and I am scared that I failed it- which will make me fail the entire french gcse. I do not want to see a U on my results.

DT has always been my strong subject, but unfortunately, paper 3 went so bad (I do CIE). I am going to pray that paper 1 and my coursework ( which I am quite sure I did well in) will carry as I did absolute dogshit in paper 3. I need to get a 9 in DT, it is a must.

1. Are you named after anyone?

I was named after an actor! Quite a famous one. I won't name him, of course, but i love his work. Renaming myself was a bit of an accident. Someone had to take up the mantle of Prince, as a very short and flamboyant singer, it fits despite the lack of intention.

2. When was the last time you cried?

Excellent question! I was listening to a song about two weeks ago, it came out of nowhere. Spent about half the track crying with not an inkling as to why. I suppose i was overdue, no?

3. Do you have kids?

I do! A little mischief muffin of a young man. Very snuggly, shockingly bright, biggest smile I've ever seen. I adore him. I'd set the world on fire for him.

4. What sports do you play/have you played?

Cross country! I was Scouted for my refusal to play team sports when i could run laps and get three miles in (this did not prevent the necessity of dodging when dodgeball was the sport - whoopth). I played short stop for a while. Basketball at home, scorekeeping for my first job when i didn't make the team. I was a gymnast for years! Damn good at it, too. One of these days, I'll reteach myself to backflip. Eventually. At some point. Does extreme inline skating count? I was big on that.

5. Do you use sarcasm?

No, I've never been sarcastic in my life. (That was sarcasm.)

6. What’s the first thing you notice about people?

You can tell a lot about a person by their shoes. I stand by that. General aesthetic, their vibe. The emotion they're hiding in their eyes.

7. What’s your eye colour?

Somewhere between green and yellow depending on the light.

8. Scary movies or happy endings?

There's a little of both in any story.

9. Any talents?

Talent can only bring one so far. It's the skills we hone from them. I have quite a number tucked in my back pocket. We haven't the time for the list. Well, we DO, it's more I'll Sound Like An Asshole if i give that laundry list. I may sound like one anyway. Folks tend to view a confident person as arrogant.

10. Where were you born?

Good old Providence. I never leave this city for long, it has my heart. Not to mention that one time i had to drink from a fountain downtown, there's a fountain down city with a superstition to it. Should one drink from it, they never truly leave. I'll die in this city, I'll die happily.

11. What are your hobbies?

Writing - poetry, journaling, journalism. Singing. Running when I'm able. Catching any concert I can. Art of many kinds. Perhaps I'll indulge that today. Reading. Philosophy. Designing. Stand up comedy and spoken word, I'm overdue a return to stage. Gaming. Body surfing and swimming. Rockhounding! Deciphering grave markers. Traveling, with any excuse, often with no notice to anyone until maybe a day prior. There are others, surely, that escape my mind at present. I do Many Things.

12. Do you have any pets?

My beloved bearded dragon, Babs. I'd set the world on fire for him, too.

13. How tall are you?

5 feet of fucking fury and an extra inch of insufferable pretention.

14. Favourite subject in school?

Neuroscience and literature - existentialist and gothic horror to be precise. I was a neuroscience TA, in fact!

15. Dream job?

A dream is what you want to do but still haven't pursued. I've done my dream jobs, I'm still doing most of them. I've always maintained I'd never have a normal job. So far, I've made good on that. If any of you catch me at an office job, kill the imposter on sight.

So I'm kind of late to the live action section of this all and now there is quite the to-watch backlog (just recently hit over three digits), and I am already finding myself stuck in the Paradox of Choice an increasing amount of times. Unfortunately, I haven't even watched enough for a "stick to the known" pattern, so currently is just the "freeze" one each time. Should one go for the ones of the best of best lists? But then everything middling would look worse afterwards? Do the opposite, but maybe interest will wear out before the proper good stuff is reached? Go for what tropes you like? Have I even established any favorite tropes? Get the bad hair training done already? Just roll a dice or something?

Then it occurred to me: Maybe in case of doubt, just go historically! That probably would be a little bit like getting the same experience as people who were right there at the time things got out. But obviously, going by date also means treading the minefield of the early stuff. And even with going backwards newer releases also still have stink bombs.

RATING SYSTEM

Now, my rating system isn’t necessarily how much I personally liked it, although it is sometimes. It’s how much I feel like it satisfied the demands of BL, story structure, and filming. For example Love Sick is one of my favorite BLs, but it is a hot mess, so it only got an 7/10. I do demand an HEA though, so if characters are killed or separated at the end, it detrimentally impacts the rating.

10/10 - highly recommended: faithful to tropes, happy ending, good chemistry, few flaws, high rewatch potential

9/10 - absolutely recommended: probably a few pacing issues or one flaw

8/10 - recommended: some concerns around tropes (like dub con) or story structure but still satisfies as BL

7/10 - recommended with reservations: i.e. isn’t quite BL, convoluted, not strictly HEA, too short/long, or serious chemistry issues

6/10 - worth watching but seriously flawed: probably around the ending or in narrative structure/cohesion or censorship

5/10 - watch it if you have nothing better to do: but don’t expect much, it’s a total hot mess

4/10 - fatally flawed; censored beyond recognition: but still basically BL, however... do we want to support this kind of behavior?

3/10 - I don’t know what I’m watching: and neither does it

2/10 - it’s depressing: they killed the gay, save yourself

1/10 - It’s awful, don’t waste your time: I watched it so you don’t have to

DNF - sometimes because it’s that bad, sometimes I just lost interest or access, sometimes for deeply personal reasons it wigged me out

Is it weird to be trans but not identify as a trans person?

I'm MtF and started taking hormones many years ago. I had bottom surgery 5 years ago. I feel like it's something that happened in the past and the only time I remember I'm trans is when someone reminds me.

The problem is: it really bothers me when someone reminds me that I'm trans.

It feels like they see me in a way that I don't see myself, which is confusing. Factually, I'm trans and I tell every doctor I meet that, but the label is not something I feel comfortable relating to. Talking about the act of my transition doesn't bother me at all; but, identifying as a trans person feels wrong and it hurts.

I have a fair number of trans friends who are positive about their identity and talk about it all the time. I accept and love myself just as much as they do, but I would feel deeply uncomfortable to be the subject of the kinds of jokes they tell.

I have had plenty of negative interactions where people remind me I'm trans and therefore think "you can't do x" or "y will be harder," but seemingly positive interactions also feel bad. I had to tell my friends I would feel bad if I was gifted a Blahaj, because I don't want to be seen as trans.

Aside from people who knew me before I transitioned, I have been very careful to only tell other trans people or people that I'm dating. A few people have spread the word, against my wishes, and it's hurt me each time.

I exclusively use she/her pronouns and have not doubted my identity as a woman for many many years. Since bottom surgery I barely remember to take my hormones and it doesn't bother me. I really feels like transitioning was a thing that I completed and now I'm done.

Is it wrong for me to feel this way? Am I unintentionally hurting people by doing this? Is this internalized transphobia / am I becoming a TERF? I'm proud of who I am and I'm proud of who my friends are but I don't want to be called trans.

So your deal is you're a woman & you don't like people bringing up your past. So far that's common.

There's a part in "whipping girl" by julia serano that explains how medical transportation started as DIY, but then got gatekept by the medical establishment in order to suppress/cook the books on our prevalence numbers. I've heard that back in the day the cis/trans distinction would be dropped after transitioning, but this was also in an environment where gatekeepers forced us to have do stealth.

I'm going to share my experience as a no-op to help show what's happening. I figured out I was a girl when I was 2 because I learned about anti-biological essentialism for why feminism is good & racism is bad. So when adults would try to label me as trans & lump me with crossdressers at age 6, I was upset because I was like I was never a boy in the first place. To use more accurate vocabulary I would learn when I was 9, I was an incongruent girl, but I was still a girl. I only felt comfortable using the label trans in 2014 when I started seeing genderqueer people use the label & I saw that we had momentum going, at least in my area.

So to be clear, people saying you have to medically transition to be a different gender are usually trying to deny that trans kids exist. (Which is bogus since cis girls & cis boys are still considered girls & boys before puberty.)

So I think your anxiety is surrounding that womanhood is not reliant on medical transition. If I understand that's why you're worried about it meaning you're gatekeeping others when you got the medical transition. The point is, your body your choice, whether you want to get the medical procedures should be up to you.

Part of the reason we work together as a community & have solidarity is to help those of us who are silent & silenced. So I guess if you're still struggling with this, then seek anonymous ways to help trans people. If people want to buy you trans merch & gender markers, then maybe tell them to put that money to a charity, an activist group, a legal project, a gofundme, or a mutual aid request to help the trans community. Helping the trans community helps validates people gender markers & gender identities whether they are cis or trans or whatever.

You shouldn't have to shoulder the brunt. We have a prevalence rate of about 1 in 250-300. The institutions lied to us when they said we were 1 in 30,000.

Do you have any suggestions or tips on drawing Sal? I have the perfect blue, but I'm a little fuzzy on his skin... It's like a pale olive tone? I don't have that, but like...

I want to do a four tone picture like you do, sometimes. I like how you use pink, blue, black, and white in yours. Would you be offended if I tried to do something similar?

1. DIY haircut (a long lock tends to cover his bad eye- not sure if that's intentional or if he's too punkrock to care that his bangs are uneven af. The rest of his hair is super layered and serving some A+ mullet supremacy)

2. Remember, his prosthetic goes OVER his face, it's not his actual face! I like to draw his head and basic facial feature placement, then draw the prosthetic over it. The prosthetic also isn't flat, so add a little depth to the sides. Also note that the pink side (and his false eye and the majority of his injury) is on his right side. It's nitpicky, but it kind of bugs me when people flip it ^^;

3. Adorable round ears (2 piercings on the lobes- I like to make the lower one a stretched piercing, but 2 regular piercings is more faithful to canon)

I think people have been conditioned to shy away from borrowing ANY elements from other peoples art out of fear of 'copying', but I think that's too extreme a mindset. You SHOULD draw inspiration from other artists! Combining all your favorite elements from different sources and putting your own spin on them is how you develop your own style. Do you think I started drawing the way I do based on nothing? Of course not! Everything is based on/ inspired by something else! My style is obviously HEAVILY inspired by anime and manga, particularly the works of Junji ito. If I had to put a label on it, it would be 'Ito meets moe anime (with a healthy dose of Jamie Hewlett for flavor)'. If you want to try out my line or coloring styles etc, then I encourage you to do so (and would really love it if you tagged me so I can see!). As long as you're not outright tracing or copying something and claiming it as your own, and you make sure to credit people accordingly, then I say go nuts! (There are of course exceptions- always respect an artists wishes when it comes to their work and how they want/ dont want it to be used!)

1 Where am I most ticklish? Shoot honestly I don't know I've never gotten to figure that out but based off of where the phantom tickles go when teased or just when tickle is spoken in go with side and hips but hips more.

Hmmmmmmmmm well I don't think I'm feather sensitive so not feathers but I think just basic thinks like nails but I think markers and pens would work as well. Felt tip pens specifically I mean think about it! The ink is already cold witch just adds to the sensitivity and on top of that once it's dried the cleaning bit is just ahhhh! Like not sure what to use a soft rag or a clean sponge? I don't know but it's flustering thinking about it MOVING ON

I started doing 30 days a little bit ago but I missed some days and then didn't finish because some stuff happened and also, I'm not a 24/7 regressor and I even go chunks of time without regressing and I only use my blog when I am regressed. Soooo I'm just going to answer a bunch of these in a kinda long post!

1. Yes, I sleep with many stuffies actually! I have so many and I put them around me often. I recently got a Mickey and I love his texture!

2. I don't have a cg. I have a lot of chronic health problems so I live at home with my bio mom (who knows I openly enjoy childlike things, but not specifically that I regress). Because I rarely go out, and rarely interact with others even online, I haven't ever had a caregiver. A few years ago a considered asking my (now ex)bf how he felt about it but when I sort of tested the waters about his thoughts on regressors it... didn't go well so I never brought it up again. Also my bio mom does help me with some things, but she does that because of my health issues and not because I'm smol.

3. Aquarium! I like the museum and the zoo a lot too, and also just going to the mall, or target! But the aquarium is my favorite and I miss it!!

4. I don't use a paci, for a few reasons but mostly I don't tend to regress that young. I do have chewelry though! I use that when I'm big also.

5. Blue! I also like red! And green! And sometimes purple!

6. Stuffies! I love blankies too and have a handful of baby blankets, mostly because I am Very sensitive to textures and hate certain ones, but I like a lot of baby ones. I have so many stuffies though. I've loved them all my life and I still buy new ones when I find ones I love.

7. Fall! But I do like spring for how sunny it is, even if I normally stay inside.

8. I like watching movies/YouTube/TV and sometimes playing games (switch, board games, in phone games). I used to really like to color but one of my health problems affects my hands and I usually can't color very much.

9. Coloring better than drawing! When big, I'm kind of an artist, and so it's still hard for that part of my brain to turn off when little. Coloring doesn't matter how it looks but I can be perfectionist about my drawings.

10. It changes! I love love love Little Mermaid! Also Aladdin! And Lion King! When Tangled came out I watched it every day for months. Same with Moana.

11. Donald! At least out of the main crew. I also love Mickey and Goofy. I've always loved Eeyore. And Sully. And Tigger!

18. I have many. It depends on the day to which one I snuggle or bring with me around the house. Most of them are baby blankets, one is a star wars blankie, and some are Cloak brand blankets (they're so big and usually silky-soft)

19. Lavender is one of my favorite smells! I also have a pain relief blend with lavender, peppermint, wintergreen, and more that I love! I also just got some candles and oils from Magic Candle Company and their Jungle Cruise scent (I think it's call Jungle Boat) is one of my new favorite smells!

22. I'm an Aries! But my moon is cancer and rising is aquarius which are both water signs! Which makes me a weird Aries sometimes!

23. Disney stores!!! It's like a little piece of magic! I live pretty far from either park (though Disneyland is my park) and it's nice to visit something like that without having to have a lot of money and travel. But sadly the one that's near me closed as part of a lot of closures Disney did. Now the closest one is at least an hour drive away and I don't like that mall as much. Also I do like build a bear but they don't always have things I actually want, especially cuz each store has different critters. I got Nala the last time I was in a Disney store.

24. Fave games... Hm well I'm deeply attached to Kingdom Hearts (even if I haven't finished the 3rd game). I really love the Dark Pictures Anthology games! They are spooky and werid but I am sometimes a spooky baby.

25. I really love fruit! Applesauce and fruit leathers are easiest for me to get myself, but sometimes my mom will help me with a clementine or cutting up an apple. Sometimes I have pudding, or dry cereal.

26. Juice! All different kinds!

27. Chocolate!!! I had ding-dongs for breakfast the other day when I was regressed early.

28. Lots of stuff and weirdly at the same time very few things. I have some pretty bad social anxiety, and also generalized anxiety. And yet there aren't as many specific things I fear. I really don't like creepy crawlies (spiders and most bugs) but I can deal with them, and when I'm outside I just leave them alone! I'm usually very paranoid about sounds and stuff but that fades when I'm regressed.

29. I'm really bad at finding something "unique" to talk about! I don't feel like I have any random of cool skills. I am also limited by my chronic health conditions and so I don't have exciting or relatable things to talk about very much... How about... I am super nerdy! I have a bunch of fixations that cycle around and they are all like, TV shows or movies or books or genres or games. Ummmm also I just bought my second official Mermaid tailskin. I have a mermaid tail my friends and I made a long time ago, but last year I finally got a monofin and actual professionally made tail! And I just got another tail to go over the same monofin. I don't have anywhere to regularly swim near me :( but I still really wanted a more bright/colorful tail than my first one!

30. This is gonna come off as odd maybe but being in a lot of pain can put me in little space. My chronic pain can fluctuate and sometimes when it's really bad or multiple of my issues are bad at once I involuntarily regress. It helps me stress out less and deal with my pain in a more simple way. And that it's okay if I need to cry. And it helps me get distracted by simple stuff and stop focusing on my pain level.
