So the general idea was kinda inspired by Kimi, who does have an authorized biography -- which I've always found kind of odd, considering he's so famously private. Regardless, the author was a Finnish writer with no meaningful connection to motorsport, meaning they served as a complete outsider perspective with no preconceived notions about the sport, Kimi's reputation, etc..

It got me thinking about a future in which Lando -- not yet having won a WDC but getting very close -- does the same thing; but what if Oscar's the outsider following him around, learning about him through interviews and late nights at his flat in Monaco and the eyes of paddock interviews he's able to skirt around?

How would Lando, someone with such a contentious relationship with media (too emotional, too insecure, too volatile, not championship worthy), handle having media in his inner circle? Would he even let him into his inner circle to begin with?

And how would Oscar's perspective change throughout the narrative, how would his written word about racing driving Lando Norris -- professional, observant, polished -- eventually stray from his growing thoughts about Lando -- endeared, curious, a bit smitten?

Basically, I want to follow Lando through an entire season.

I want their relationship to ebb and flow -- moments where Lando hesitantly lets Oscar see more of him, only to shut him out the next moment.

I want them to toe this weird line between professionalism and personal care, something blurred through hundreds of hours together and intimate details capture on a dictaphone -- tucked closed to Oscar's heart in his jacket pocket.

Daring to hope that maybe we can see something like this play out. It would be fresh and interesting for this arc to feature a lot of self-reflection and communication-- in fact, I feel like that was missing from the last one. A lack of Sunbeam or Nightheart actually introspecting about their issues, neither identifying nor truly working through them, just progressing as characters when the plot needed them to.

I'm loving the story of Moonie that's being "woven" by systems coming into the inbox. Most pwDID seem to agree that conflict between Headpaw/Starpaw and Moonpaw isn't the problematic part, it's the "villainization" of the voice. The "vibe" is the desire to see Headpaw/Starpaw being treated as a person within the narrative, not just as a malicious "entity."

Even without this being about representation (tho that is still important), isn't that just... refreshing?

Aren't we tired of Evil Spirit influencing the cats to do bad stuff, while Good Spirit influences them to do good stuff? Do we really need another Ashfur so soon? Wouldn't it be nice if there was some narrative, textual nuance to the situation for once?

Crazy that one of Jimmy's first thoughts about rations after the crash is keeping Curly alive so he stays fresh in case things get dire. No one else brings it up, they barely mention Curly outside of the crash or his medicine actually.

He's a non factor to them now which is also a little heartbreaking considering how much he did care (even if his judgements were off) about them. It really shows the subtle ways that the game and the world they are in attach value to what you can do and can't do. He's no longer Captain or even Curly, just an after thought, a bad after taste. Yet, Jimmy still sees him as something worse.

It's the fact that to Jimmy, Curly was always someone meant to service and prolong his life. Even in pain and agony, all the thought he can give Curly is his use to him to the extent he is willing to consume him physically to get all he can out of him and of him.

Please imagine Umemiya Hajime who's good at camping. He's well prepared and can start a fire in seconds if necessary. (Not to mention him chopping wood?) But also imagine the knots he can tie when putting the tent up. His fingers deftly looping and pulling around the stakes before he tightens them. He'll teach you what different ones are good for, but every time he has you try to do it, you come up blank, unable to tie the simplest thing. It takes the third time of him showing you before he realizes the dreamy look in your eyes isn't one of concentration to learn. But really, who could blame you when he explains it so patiently in that sweet low rumble that he uses when he's alone with you in close proximity. When occasionally he'll grab your hands in his to physically show you how the knots tie, and you can feel the callouses on his palms grazing your skin.
