why does hitting the "dismiss" button on posts in tags I follow not make them go away anymore?? every time I open tumblr I have to see the same few posts over and over again even though I dismiss them every time

Hi new followers, I'm a nonbinary trans person who had top surgery and supports the transmasc community, I like to make vore jokes and write vorefic, I'm obsessed with 4 specific characters from Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World (and ship them in every single configuration including the ~problematic~ ones like selfcest), I don't believe what you enjoy in fiction dictates your morals so accusing people of sex crimes because they like cartoon porn makes you an ignorant loser (yes this includes the really fucked up cartoon porn), I don't think minors should be allowed to use their age as a get out of consequences free card when they're being abusive shitheads, furries are cool and furry porn is fine yes including feral it doesn't make them sex criminals, I don't think it's acceptable to tell people to kill themselves and no "KYS" isn't just something you say, only shitheads do that. I also like to make omegaverse jokes because omegaverse is a fascinating set of concepts
What else usually is a deal-breaker...
This is a personal blog that has no theme, so I'm not insightful or funny or dedicated to a specific fandom or genre all the time I mostly just spew a bunch of random reblogs from a wide variety of things including spamming them.
I'm bad at tagging due to constant fatigue and not being good at remembering shit so if you need a lot of stuff tagged for filtering not the best place to be
Anyway there's a lot of things that people ultimately find Not For Them about me and how I run my blog so feel free to unfollow and/or block at any point, I don't keep track of who does because it's not my business
Just wanted to give the new followers a vague rundown of things they'd find out eventually so they can decide up front if they wanna stick around or not

Howdyyy Ivyyy! 🩶🪽
Hermes here to request that things to do with pregnancy/childbirth/etc be tagged appropriately (including reblogs)! As always, I adore your stuff, but lots of peeps can be easily startled by these things unknowingly! (You are not alone, as I have contacted a few other blogs anonymously to remind them, so don't feel bad!)
Since tags are a big part of curating a safe and comfortable environment for readers and writers alike, it's important to be mindful of potential triggers. Just as much as smut and gore can be startling, pregnancy and even family fics/comments/hcs can be as well
And since I both adore you and your stuff, I figured it'd be good for me to offer a reminder since you're pretty awesome and I know personally it can be easy to forget and I know you've never had any ill intent. Things like side accounts/spam blogs usually don't need tags since it's chaotic as is, but being a rather popular writer, I wanted to give the heads up!
Thank you, my lovely feather, for taking the time to read and learn! No need to respond, either, just a reminder from the messenger itself!
~Hermes 🛠🪽
Hi Hermes,
Thanks for your ask.
I can certainly sympathize with stumbling across content that one might find triggering. There are definitely things I find triggering that are popular tropes, especially in the TGM fandom, like age gap stories. Due to some very traumatic things in my past, these types of stories can be difficult for me.
I've found post-content filtering to be very helpful in this regard. It searches the entire post for instances of your filtered word or phrase, not just the tags. Tumblr has a great explanation of how to use it below.
While I always make sure to tag my own works accordingly so people can determine if my content is for them or not, at times I will reblog from other authors who chose not to do so. Additionally, because this is my blog, I will read and share things that encompass all parts of life, including being a mother and having a child. As someone who dealt with infertility for a long time, I find it therapeutic to incorporate this topic into my stories occasionally.
Since all of us need to curate a space on Tumblr that suits our needs I completely understand if you want to unfollow or even block me. I will never be offended.
Also, I cannot tell you how much it tickles me that you consider me to be a popular writer. That made my day.

That is such a good post about the fandom. Honestly, I think a lot of fandoms have the problem we do, which is a few people deciding that their personal head canons are fact and reality. Like 'my verse is canon' is usually meant as a joke, but a small yet very loud minority constantly proclaim that their own interpretations (some of which are...out there lol), their non-canon ships, their personal wishlist etc are reality because he or she SAID so, and it's hard for the rest of us not to be like "i mean, imagine and daydream whatever you want, but that's actually NOT what happened on the actual show." I'm not sure I'm explaining this well, but basically a few fans insist that 2+2 is five and then freak out when people politely point out otherwise. Maybe it's because I'm Tumblr Old like you are lol and fandom in our day was more analyzing character' personalitiess, trading ideas about favorite and least favorite storylines etc rather than fixating on stuff like "CHARACTER A IS GENDERFLUID AND IN A RELATIONSHIP WITH TEN OTHER PEOPLE AND IS A DEMIROMANTIC PANSEXUAL BECAUSE I SAID SO" when it's like but, no, they're not, so maybe just create an original character if that's what you want to write about lol.
Thanks! I guess a lot of us are feeling similar things right now.
Yep, I (think!) I understand what you're saying. We're on the same page. Folks can do whatever they want on this silly little site, of course - imagining different sexualities for the characters or pairing them with characters they were not romantically linked to in canon, inventing their own 'universes' that are based on the source material - these things don't hurt anybody. Let them be.
I think the rub comes in when the rest of us do not take their ideas seriously or do not agree with them - which of course, we're under no obligation to do. Sorry, but I don't think every interpretation is equally valid. I don't want to read about your OC/self-insert characters when I peruse the T70S and T90S tag, I want to read about the characters from the show I like. I do think everyone should be able to express their own thoughts and ideas on their own blog, but when one makes public posts on a public blog using fandom tags, others are going to respond. Those are literally the kinds of interactions this site was designed to foster.
The good news for me continues to be that the vast majority of folks I've interacted with in this fandom are good, creative people and even when we see things differently we can often have great conversations anyway. I hope newer fans aren't driven away by a couple of bad apples. I've only encountered a few blogs who are aggressive towards those with dissenting opinions or who are openly hostile to any good-faith discussion, and frankly, I've blocked them and I wish I had done it sooner. We do have the ability to curate our own fandom experience. I think folks hesitate to block because they don't want to be impolite, but I think it's far worse to continue seeing that person's content, become angered by it, and send nasty anons (I've seen a little bit of this happening and it makes me upset). If it's not for you, unfollow! If you keep seeing content you don't want to see, block! Now all that stuff is gone from my dash/tags and I only see the things I want to see - fan fiction, (canon) character analysis, excitement for the new season of That '90s Show. 🥰

Happy Spooky Season, pumpkaboos!
Here’s what’s happening this month / going forward on simmancy-dot-tumblr-dot-com.
𝙷𝚎𝚕𝚕𝚘 𝚗𝚎𝚠 𝚏𝚘𝚕𝚕𝚘𝚠𝚎𝚛𝚜! 👋
Hi there if you’re new! My name is Kit, I am 32 now, this is my simblr, I am active on and off. If any of that bothers you, unfollow, it's okay! If you're here because I posted a mod list or a random piece of CC you like, then I have good news - I do those things occasionally! When I am actively posting, I usually dabble in gameplay. I don't do much storytelling anymore because... well, I don't have the time!
𝚂𝚒𝚖𝚋𝚕𝚛𝚎𝚎𝚗 𝚂𝚌𝚑𝚎𝚍𝚞𝚕𝚎 🍬
I have SOME stuff I've been poking at in my ~spare time~. I love Simblreen, it's the best time of the year imo and it's just... a tradition. It's a tradition. So I'm going to try 🤞
I have been writing out a mod list centered around occults/spooky gameplay at least. So that's seasonally appropriate????? If you have a mod list request hit my inbox because I still fucking LOVE WCIFs and that's a sort of WCIF.
𝙾𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚋𝚎 𝙲𝚘𝚗𝚝𝚎𝚗𝚝 🎃
This year (and likely going forward), I'm going to try to use my blog to showcase the community. There's SO many cool things in the ts4 tag!! So I've been scouring it at the dead of night to refill my queue 👻 That's what you can mainly expect this month. No CAS challenges, no CC challenges, just some creepies and kookies from others around simblr.
𝚁𝚎𝚐𝚞𝚕𝚊𝚛 𝙲𝚘𝚗𝚝𝚎𝚗𝚝 🌕
Hi regular followers!! I’m so sorry if you've been here a long time, because I don't have much updates on my ~classic~ gameplays and saves and they just...... won't be. For a while.
Not So Perry... I have a bit of Gen 4 but I haven't played in a whiiiiile so. I might revisit that/redo/we'll see.
Star x Crossed is indefinitely on hold - I will probably revise how that was posting because the full episodes just aren't possible right now. I might do it more as like... an edit type thing, where the edits tell the stories or whatever. It SUCKS because I had really big hopes and dreams for that save and instead I... had a child.
The Nobel ABCs will return because I have 10 generations done in game. I just need to queue.
Maggie's Wonderful Life WILL eventually be done LMAO. I'm hoping to get back into that save soonish. I LOVE farming gameplay! So I want to play/finish it. I had about half of the introductions shot before I got distracted with other things and then... well. yeah.
New saves? When I manage to play, I play a lot of newer saves LMAO. Mostly because when I have time right now I need... something easy.
𝙻𝚒𝚏𝚎 𝚄𝚙𝚍𝚊𝚝𝚎 🔮
I decided I like doing this once a year Simmancy Newsletter during my favorite time of the year. Halloween remains the BEST season, and there's also no guarantee I won't drop off the face of the planet again.
Obv the main thing is that, as previously stated, I had a baby. A whole ass baby. She's now 3 months old, and she is so much in the best way. We're currently teething and if you're like "Kit that seems a bit early," you're absolutely right but this is the lot I've drawn in life. She likes to be sat up, and stood up, and to talk to the Baby in the Mirror. She also is obsessed with trees and the cat. I know new moms are annoying and I'm absolutely that annoying new mom, I literally cannot shut up about her and therefore make my sims blog also about her.
I go back to work next month and I'm absolutely dreading it. Can I just be a sim and have someone press motherlode for me? Please?
Otherwise, there's very little in Kit World. The past 6 simblr years remain wonderful, and I've met some of my best friends on here. I go between BG3 and Sims when I have game time (which isn't a lot because Baby Simmancy is increasingly awake and mobile). I WISH I had more time to hang around here but maybe in a year or so.
Anyway, that’s my update of the year. Happy spooky season everybody! I hope it’s a good one!
Stay safe & spooky out there!

Rules of Play
Tumblr media
Please at least give it a read! Liking this post also means it’s more likely I will follow back, as I know you have RAU’d.
Updated 08/19/2024
ABOUT:
Kar/Karmun/Karthonic either-or. If you'd rather separate mun/muse you can use my middle name, Asher to refer to me.
They/Them is cool.
From New York, so the timezone is EST.
Birthday’s January 1990, so 30+
Spoonie with AuDHD
Artist, and educator, so I can get busy. I commute, so I'm on the train for a few hours a day as well and can be sporadic activity wise.
On mobile most of the time.
I left the Tumblr RPC 4 years ago so forgive me as I catch up with the new etiquette, etc.
Personal blog @karthonic.
Sci-Fi Muse: @stellevatum
ARK AU: @sidisaspecto & @hln-4
GENERAL:
Above all else: Be Excellent to each other and party on, dudes!
First and foremost: my activity is sporadic. I refuse to let myself be like I was when I left the RPC in 2019. I may queue a lot of shit. I may go into a black hole for a few weeks or months. I may forget threads or lose them. It doesn't mean I don't care-- I am here to have fun and not get stressed over things.
If you ever want to reach out-- all my blogs and personal are listed above, and my discord is on request to mutuals, even though I'm just as much a cryptid on there as well.
Lurking for a bit before reaching out is fine, but I would like genuinely interested folks. Optional but I have an Interest Tracker for organization purposes.
Communication is key. My muse might be intimidating, but I'm not-- just very busy and on mobile more often than not. Don’t know something, or want me to elaborate: ask! I forgot a reply or not feeling a thing anymore, lemme know. I'm good. I like get to know the people I write with, it makes me plot things better.
This incarnation Kar is for Contemporary Supernatural/Fantasy/Mythology like verses. You can find the Og/Sci-Fi flavored Kar at @stellevatum.
While she's BPRD based,  don’t sweat it if you don’t know the other stuff. If your fandom/verse has a way in, I can finagle her into all sorts of place (she's literally an cosmic horror at heart).
That ‘selective’ part comes into play. I have every right to not follow someone, decline a roleplay, just as you do. Just be polite and respectful.
Crossover/AU/Multiverse/Self Insert friendly. Not your thing, then feel free to not follow.
There will be casual mentions of recreational drug use, more often than not mentions of alcohol than drugs, but will be tagged upon request. Other possible triggers are her fatalistic humor.
This is not a content resource blog. If you’re here for the pretty pictures, aesthetics, or memes, this is not the blog for you.
Godmoding is discouraged but I’m not going to stop it. I will likely try to out ridiculous you Bugs Bunny style. Even though she can’t die, you’re free to try and kill her, but let me know first (either way she’s gonna be pissed FYI).
Most art is mine but will be credited. If I reblog any art reposted without the original creator’s permission, let me know. I’ll remove it.
FOLLOWING/UNFOLLOWING:
Please don’t follow/interact if you’re under 18. If I follow anyone underage, it’s because I wasn’t able to access any about/ooc information, please don’t take it personally if I unfollow!
If I don’t follow you and you follow me, please just hit me up before doing something. Just because I don’t follow means I’m not interested, I just don’t think our characters mesh with the information given. If we chat about it, who knows!
If I follow you or like a post but not follow, it's likely because I want to check out your rules but can't find a mobile friendly/need time to look through things, especially if it's a carrd. If you follow back, I'll message/send passwords as I don't want to overstep.
I don’t usually greet/interact with personal blogs, so side blogs off personals give me a heads up. Otherwise, I might miss you.
I may unfollow or softblock-- but that doesn't mean I am not against second chances. It usually mean either we haven't really done anything and I'm keeping my dash tidy or you never followed back so I'm taking the hint and stepping off, or you were inactive for 6+ month and I assume you abandoned the blog.
If you'd prefer I don't accidentally re-follow, you are free to hardblock. It's a bummer, but we need to what makes each of us comfortable to write. I will only hardblock if it is in your rules or if it was something serious that warrants it.
IN CHARACTER:
Compatible Fandoms (ie I am Familiar with): BPRD/Hellboy, Hades, Devil May Cry, Wolfenstein, Gravity Falls, WTNV, Obey Me!, Sandman, Good Omens, Hellsing, Persona, Durarara!!, Castlevania, Blood of Zeus, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Basically anything with demons/angels/gods and the like. I will interact with Hazbin Hotel/Helluva Boss muses, even though personally I don't vibe with Viv.
Kar is an ancient cosmic horror who was supposed to destroy all reality. Raised by mortals, so she thought she was. But she's also got other forms, which folks may see.
As for appearance, unless you’re really looking you might notice the fangs. And for the most part, assume she’s wearing her signature sunglasses covering her eyes since those rarely are taken off in public.
While not usually brought up, but Kar has attempted to end her life and self-harmed. Nowadays it’s usually just masked with fatalistic humor, recreational drug use, and lots of drinking.
There will be mentions of Nazis particularly of the occult sort, so if that makes you uncomfortable please feel free to step away.
ASKS:
Askbox will only be open for IC interactions, save for when the meme specifies Mun. IMs are for OOC communication. Anon feature is for sideblogs, multimuses to interact ICly with me. Any Anon messages good or bad directed to the Mun (outside of memes) will be ignored. The Anon feature is privilege, I will revoke it for my well-being if need be.
No Magic Anons, please!
There’s no need to wait to send me a meme if you’ve followed me for 5 minutes or 5 months, send the thing.
Reblog Karma is going to be enforced on this blog. That is, if you reblog an ask meme off me, please send me one. Otherwise, reblog the meme from @karref
THREADS:
Jump on any open post, there’s no need to ask permission, they’re there for that reason!
I will be keeping my posts simple! I don't have the time/energy to make formatted posts, and I like to keep things as accessible as possible. I do try to keep track of the heavily plotted stuff, but the casual things might drop off. Feel free to remind me if it's been a bit!
Communicate! If you’re having trouble writing a reply, talk to me! If you don’t like or not feeling a thread, say so and drop the thread. That also doesn’t mean things are done for good. Come to me if you want to skip/do something else.
If you’d rather we move things to discord, just ask! I’ll set up a server just for us!
SHIPPING:
Shipping is welcomed and willing to discuss the possibility, but I leave the rest to chemistry and just how we as writers write. Kar is into male muses, and will be polite about turning other people down, unless one doesn’t take the hint.
I will only write ships with muns older than 21, but 25+ is preferred.
That being said, I will no longer tolerate stringing me along, or vague replies. Please be clear and direct. If you are interested; say so. If you are not or no longer wanting to go in that direction, tell me. Any vague or non-committal replies will be treated as disinterest and dropped.
This blog is multiship, meaning each relationship is treated as its own separate place in the multiverse unless discussed and agreed upon.
Kar can be polifidelitous. She’s okay with having multiple partners and those partners having partners if your character is cool with it. But she can be selectively monogamous in your little bubble too.
NSFW may be on here, or I might do it over discord. I'm playing it by vibes. As I don't really have any established romantic stuff since rebooting, I can't say with any certainty. Will update when I do know.
TAGGING/ HARD LIMITS:
Blood, Gore, Body Horror, Drugs, etc, will be tagged with (name); for instance drugs; . Special Tags on request.
Posts will be tagged upon request, just let me know!
If you read and understand this, I would appreciate if you'd leave a like the post, that way I know you have without forcing a password.
But if you'd like to message me, here's a DM icebreaker: What's your favorite extinct animal? (If you're lucky I may have cool fact about it.)
HOPE TO WRITE WITH YOU SOON! :D

GETTING TO KNOW YOU.
respond to the following prompts out of character. then, tag others that you'd like to get to know a little bit better!
Tumblr media
ROLEPLAYER NAME: Adriel
ROLEPLAYER PRONOUNS: He/Them
MUSE NAME: I have too many to list off, everyone's on my Carrd c':
PREFERRED COMMUNICATION: Tumblr works just fine for me ♡ I tend to feel overwhelmed when I have a bajillion Discord notifications so I honestly fall off from it after a while before I gather the spoons enough to go back and respond to people proper. On tumblr, at least it feels like I'm sitting down at the office and getting ready to work on stuff, and therefore, the ton of messages just feels natural to have waiting for me here pfft~
EXPERIENCE: I've been writing on tumblr since 2014! Prior to that, I was roleplaying on Facebook since... 2011 ?? And prior to that, it was MSN, text message, and notebook roleplays between my friends and I throughout high school!
PREFERRED ROLEPLAY TYPE: I enjoy the slice of life sorta roleplays. The things we don't usually get to see in a character's life because we're too busy following the main plot. Of course, I also do ADORE me a good mystery/deep plot to follow! Honestly, just give me a balance of interactions for our characters, and I'll be heaven ♡
PET PEEVES & DEALBREAKERS:
When people don't read my muse's info and push on to assume things via their own interpretations or strictly canon interpretations. I had someone praise how much they adored my Hero of Time characterization and wanted to write with me so badly-- really hyped me up, y'know? So I happily obliged because I also really liked their take on their character after I read up on their stuff, and I was incredibly flattered by how much they liked my muse! They immediately showed me how they read not a single thing about my muse through the first response c': I soft blocked real quick and moved on. Another one had even assumed my muse was a child because my blog's title was "Child of Farore", despite his bio clearly reading 20 years of age LOL
People who constantly post OOC about how "no one likes them" or "no one wants to write with them". Look... I get it... it can feel isolating sometimes... but perhaps the reason people are avoiding you is because you keep bringing the mood down? Listen, I'm not specifically talking about the feeling of feeling down and alone every now and then. I'm talking about the specific types of people who weaponize this feeling. Because they're the types that, even when you shower them with activity and interactions, they still will post these things the moment you start lagging behind on replies. Or! If you show interest in another blog and have a lull in activity with them. They'll immediately post about how people are abandoning them. It's so... no thank you. It's okay to post here and there about a lack of activity, but don't blame other people or demonizing them for it. Interactions go both ways, and honestly, if it's such a trend that people tend to avoid you? Maybe the problem... is you? Speaking of insane activity standards, that brings me to my last one:
People who hold your activity hostage as a measure of your worth as a roleplayer. Even if they don't actively say it, these are the people who immediately unfollow you the moment you're inactive for like... a week? A month at most, and they'll constantly message you with "I replied btw" or "Hey how have you been? Did you see my reply?" and my favorite "-insert link to their reply here- In case you didn't see it" and then nothing else. Not a "Hope you're doing okay!" or "Hope you're having a nice day!". It's a huge turn off and absolutely decimates my will to respond. We're here to have fun, not to feel like it's a 9-5 job. I just wanna be silly with my characters and shove them at others to see what'll happen, not feel anxious and scared over whether or not someone is happy with my response speed and activity.
PLOTS OR MEMES: I adore coming up with a general plot to work around! Memes are still fun and handy to have when you don't know what sort of plot would work, or when you don't have an idea at the moment. But still... ask any of my writing partners, the moment the question of plots come up, I am sometimes spitting out entire chronicles complete with plot twists, climax points, and bumps along the road. It's just super fun c':
LONG REPLIES OR SHORT REPLIES: This is very much dependent on my motivation and energy... sometimes I can hit you with 10+ paragraphs... and sometimes I can barely type 2 sentences :'D I would prefer to do long replies, but sometimes... sometimes... I just wanna throw a few words out and call it a job well done LOL
BEST TIME TO WRITE: The only time I really have to write, is late at night after work, and by then? My brain is so tired and I am so drained that I struggle to do much of anything that requires thinking. I think I used to be super active sometime around midday? Back in the day, at least. Now, I'm still searching for that peak hour when my brain wants to pour out words. Mornings seem appealing... I miss early mornings c':
ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSES: There are aspects of me in every single one of my muses, but we're not exactly a 1:1 to each other, y'know? There are things some muses do that make me want to punch a wall LOL and others that I would only dream to be capable of doing so easily. So... yes and no...? c':
Tagged by: @tenebriism (once upon a time ago-- THANK YOU) Tagging: Anyone who would like to do it, just say I tagged ya~

Tumblr media
— ALL IS VIOLENT, ALL IS BRIGHT
TIMESKIP ASH KETCHUM ; a quasi - oc. mutuals only. 21+. est. july 2013 — re-est. sept 2023 — fka ferociter. low activity / slow replies. lore / worldbuild heavy. crossover friendly / verses available ; no prior pkmn knowledge required ( this is my canon now ) reflecting all the stark contrasts between the coexisting horror and splendour of the pokémon world — broken realities, cosmic horror, a jagged deconstruction of protagonist syndrome, the absurdity of rebellion against immortality, and the indomitable power of connection.
— written and drawn ad infinitum by shan. ( 31 / any pronouns / GMT )
CARRD. COMMON KNOWLEDGE. VERSES. SPOTIFY. MUN.
BASICS
▸ hiiii. i'm shan. nice to meet you :) and if you're an old follower coming back? (kurtis conner vc) ✨ what's up, how's it going? it's very good to see you again, i hope you're doing well! ✨ ▸ nobody under the age of 21, please. i'm in my 30s, i have no business with teenagers. here's £5, go see a skibidi. ▸ no weirdos in general. or bigots or whatever. but i feel like that goes without saying these days. and please don't steal my stuff! all art on this blog is by me for the purpose of this general project and this blog only. ▸ otherwise, i like to believe i'm a pretty candid and easy-going person (well, besides the auDHD. i'm just a silly little guy); i'm not too easily bothered by things and i don't have any personal triggers, but i will always let you know if any kind of issue pops up :) ▸ general warnings apply for dark and mature content; there will probably be themes of (or at least allusions to) death, immortality, alcoholism/addiction, unreality, natural disasters, blood and violence, etc. i will tag things to the best of my ability, but if you need something specific tagged, just let me know. ▸ there will be occasional and tame nsfw here, usually on sundays. ash is nearly 40 and he looks and acts it; he's more like an oc simply sharing ash's name atp. anything zesty will be appropriately tagged and tucked under a readmore. ▸ i post ooc often but also tend to delete it afterward, so it's usually only ever temporary clutter on the dash. it's my blog anyway. i get to do the yapping. and i try not to take any of this stuff too seriously. i truly am out here just Saying Things.
INTERACTING
▸ this is a mutuals only blog; meaning i will only write and interact with mutual followers. i do tend to follow first if i find a blog i like, but if you don't want to follow back, i will usually unfollow after a couple of days to keep my dash trim! i also tend to be slow and selective with follow backs, in part because i am wary of overloading myself with too many potential ideas and friends at once; it's hard to split focus between too many people with all this golden retriever energy. ▸ i am SLOW. i work 42hrs a week, have my own place to maintain, unmedicated adhd, anemia, and a dear dad with alzheimer's i help take care of. i love rp, but it's not my be-all and end-all (despite the fact i still keep winding up here!) ▸ i am out of practice. it's been a very long time since i've been able to write prose consistently and i am a little rusty with things. your patience will sow interesting rewards, i hope. ▸ i'm usually juggling many convo threads and lose messages easily—double messaging is okay if you think i've missed something! ▸ i like others' ooc posts a lot; like a friendly nod so folks know i've seen them. if this isn't cool with you, let me know! ▸ i am very flexible when it comes to establishing crossovers and au verses! ash currently has verses for star trek, the boys, supernatural, RGG, fandomless, and other verses you can read more about here. ▸ i love shipping, but it's not the total focus of the blog; the chemistry and vibe has to be right, and ash is not always the easiest muse in the world to ship with, i will warn you in advance. still ... pspspspsps dare you to try your luck! (muses aged 25+ only!)

the best tv show you watched last year: honestly probably Shadow and Bone or House of Dragons (it's probably been longer than a year but I mean writers strikes and stuff, I don't remember seeing a good show) or Gilded age! Nothing happens in Gilded Age and I love every minute of it.
do you have a fancasting you just can't let go of?: I don't think I picture actors or types in my head when I watch or read things.

Her
Anyway, I figured I might as well just.. talk. Get it out.
She and I started talking like... end of October? After the 10/7 attack on Israel, after so many dead and held as hostages, when so many Jews were trying to find others for comfort. For reassurances. To hold ourselves after Hamas' brutality. She had posted a video saying she was proudly pro-Israel despite being primarily a cosplay account. I message her and say, "hey, I followed you for the cosplay, but I'm following you now because you're a good person" and she instantly follows me back. And almost instantly, we start flirting. Pet names, teasing, stuff like that.
And we talked. Daily. I got her book (self-published, and it's not bad) and she wrote a really nice note in there for me. And I sent her a Hanukkah present, I commissioned an artist to do basically fan art of her book character (she got me a present too, her second book) and she shares my gift to her IG showing it off and even tags me in it. Things were good though she's done bits of radio silence, usually a few days, when things get too busy before.
And then Valentine's Day rolls around. I know I like her. I've liked her since at least December. So I sent flowers and asked her to be both my Valentine and my girlfriend.
She said yes to being the valentine but that we "lived too far away" to be dating. I said it wasn't the answer I was hoping for but I accepted her decision. We didn't talk for a month.
I post a selfie on Instagram in March. She immediately likes it. So we start talking again. Okay, even if she doesn't want to date me, maybe we can be friends?
So I ask, "hey, would you feel comfortable being friends?"
Radio silence. She doesn't read the messages.
3 days go by. Nothing. So I figure she made her choice. I remove her as a follower and unfollow her (27 March). She still hadn't read the messages I had sent.
Not until last Saturday (6 April) does she read the messages. And even then she doesn't answer. I don't block her, I figure she can always answer and we can proceed from there.
I notice yesterday she blocked me. And she had to have done it very recently because I remember being able to see her page earlier that same day.
So... here we are.

Hi, I impulse-followed you yesterday (which I define as "following someone without having first gone through at least three pages of their blog") because I randomly came across Deaths-Head Deals on my dash, then binged the whole story because it is something I really like, and I didn't want to risk missing out on any update (without having to check a different site). So I absolutely don't plan on unfollowing you, but might I ask what kind of stuff I can expect from your blog?
The best way to find out is to check my blog's archive to see what's usually here: https://niuniente.tumblr.com/archive
What you can expect mostly are cats, art, my art, monsters, good vibes, spiritual posts, additional DHD information, and my own life experiences. Occasionally history, funny things, things from my culture/country, horror, paranormal and Billy Idol. Fandom things come from many, many fandoms.
Basically, you've entered my home and there isn't a just one single thing or max 4 things in my home :D
Everything is always tagged, though.
If you wish to only be notified of a new update, the fan ran DHD Discord Server always gets a notification when I update the comic. Link to the server is in my blog's pinned post. I update typically once a month.
You can also keep an eye on the comic tag in my blog, which is #death_heads_deal - albeit having said that, the tag #DHD is full of additional information and conversations with readers. You do and will get extra stuff out of DHD by following my blog. Very crucial information goes to @dhdfaq which currently operates kind of like DHD Wiki.
Warmly welcome to on board with DHD! I hope you'll enjoy your stay!

Good lord, how to say "I'm a misogynist" without saying "I'm a misogynist". I wonder how this person goes through day to day life having to look at women on the street.
Anyway, I've flagged stuff in the past because of the sheer amount of untagged smut 'headcanons' and fics thrown at me for following fandom tags. Following the tag "Jujutsu Kaisen" for instance doesn't make fanart or shitposts appear on your dash, no, instead you get stuff like "how Gojo would react if you slapped his ass" or "Gojo sucking reader's toes for anon" or some shit. And my problem isn't with the fact that that stuff exists, I get why people seek it out and make it and honestly good for them. My problem is the fact that it's usually really poorly tagged for people who want to filter it out. They usually have a ton of character and fandom tags, but no 'nsfw' for instance. Sometimes they're tagged 'headcanon' but if it's 'jujutsu kaisen headcanon' in this example, it doesn't always get filtered out because the tumblr filtering system sucks.
Anyway. If you make nsfw content for fun, and you don't tag it nsfw, I think it's okay for someone to flag it. I'd give you a bit more leniency if that content is a source of income for you, but if it's just for fun I'd say get over it, and maybe tag your shit. Not everyone wants to nsfw stuff.
Edit: also just to be clear, I unfollowed the tags that this happened with most often, obviously.
if you as a normal tumblr user go around flagging posts for mature labels you are A Fucking Cop

Temporary semi-hiatus on all my blogs due to my life being a mess!
bg-3 exclusive rp blog for Torvic, originally from D.octor Who but recreated for this universe! Mutuals only, for rpers over 21yo, will only be written as a bg-3 character. loved by Ele (mid-30s, gmt+1)
Tumblr media
An important disclaimer: Torvic is an assh*le but I don't expect your muse to submit, and I'll do my best to give them a reason to stay, whether because Torvic can be held back by me or doesn't actually want to push them away, or due to external reasons. Your muse is allowed to hurt her or be mad (just don't kill her!). I'm also an anxious chicken who worries about offending people and fangirls about muses becoming friends or lovers or family. Plus, we can plot/expect relationship development as we go.
That said, Torvic is your typical 'villain muzzled by magic' and has a lot of toxic mentality to unlearn. If you'd rather interact with nicer muses, you can find my 'Lex' (Tav) at my multi @savingthrcw, awkward mess that she is, or my already good bard @lcdybonbon.
Links: about page, memes, starter calls, meme calls, plotting calls, open starters, shipping call
Rules:
this Torvic is for muses from bg3 or with a bg3 verse only (which is why I don't need to list type of characters that make me uncomfortable/triggered/uninterested: deities and vamps of this game are fine, the only thing is that I don't want to write Torvic being attracted against her will so as far as your muse having such powers goes, she's immune). Torvic has her 'alien' canon-ish verse in my multi. Tavs and ocs are very welcomed, but no durges yet because I want to play them first. Don't be offended if I don't follow you, it could be plenty reasons: not cutting your posts, something about your blog triggering me, etc.
Torvic is pan and can act sultry/flirty with nearly everyone, BUT I fade to black unless I tell you otherwise (I'm repulsed) & it doesn't necessarily mean she's into the other person. I love ships but never force or expect romance. That said, I won't ship with Halsin and Jaheira.
If we do write smut it will be tagged 'nsft' and under read more. Torvic will not be submissive (while violence is fine), so don't assume the former if we faded. Due to dysphoria I am unlikely to write f/f smut, and if I'm writing f/m I will keep it kinda vague. If s.ex is a topic of discussion between muses I'll tag it nsft-ish.
If Torvic's flirting bothers you (or anything else!), you can say it ic or ooc and she'll magically stop. Your comfort comes before this game (unless you tell me ooc that you want her to continue). Even though she's starting as a villain, I will write her as wanting consensual s.ex while all other kinds of violence are fun to her.
if you don't see me online for a while and there is no psa, I probably have no drafts and don't want to stress anyone out! (And I'm picky so there aren't usually many mutuals for me)
I will be super happy to have a thousand threads with each person! You can send a BUNCH of memes and continue all (or drop them!), reply to opens etc, no need to plot but I'll also be happy to chat about muses and fangirl over our threads: my health is a mess, but the enthusiasm is there! I'd suggest multiple short-lived threads/asks in which our muses are still in a 'getting to know each other/butting heads' phase before we get to the fun of 'today our relationship gets a bit deeper'!
I'll do my best to tag commonly triggering topics unless they are just mentioned in passing, but here you'll find the usual bg-3 stuff: abuse, cults, everything that happens to the other characters, slavery and in-game blasphemy. I ask you to PLEASE tag your n.sft stuff (and that means your wishlist or headcanon posts, if your rules say you tag it and then I open my dash and it's RIGHT THERE because it's not from a thread, I'll unfollow), d.addy k.ink, and images of real life horror/gore. I will not be roleplaying r.ape but it can be mentioned in backstories (her time as a forced Bhaalist was dark but I won't focus on the s.exual side of it, she'll just mention the 'general torture' her parents put her through, either bitter or justifying it/joking).
hello, I'm Ele, I have pt.sd and physical problems, and I'll stay in my comfort zone when writing, which means vanilla angst. NEVER DEATH of characters and possibly always happy endings. I will NOT judge you for what you write (though I might not follow you because it's not my cup of tea). You do your thing, and I'll do mine! I'm also Italian so my English might be meh at times!

All right so I've been thinking a bit more about this. You know what might actually work? Crabs. Hear me out. Tagging @staff because I legit think this is a good idea.
First let's consider what people don't like about algorithms in social media feeds. Algorithms take away our feeling of control, turning us into passive consumers of whatever the algorithm chooses for us to see. They're inscrutable, choosing posts based on some occult machine learning model that either can't be comprehended by humans or is kept a jealously guarded secret. They usually are optimized to maximize things that can be measured, like clicks or time spent staring at something, instead of things that matter like enjoyment or dialogue. And they're really not that great at the end of the day, they tend to settle on showing someone the same sort of thing over and over again, and that thing tends toward nazism more often than it really should.
There are benefits to algorithms too! A few of them are beneficial to both users and corporate overlords, and many are beneficial to corporate overlords but hostile to users. With all the nonsense that the overlords of other social media sites are getting themselves into these days, it really makes sense that tumblr users are worried that our own overlords are going to mess things up unrecoverably. Fortunately the benefits in @staff's original post look beneficial to users as well, but a competent evil marketing genius could easily try and sneak something horrible in there too.
So here is my proposed solution!
Don't mess with our feeds at all. Our followers' posts should still come up chronologically like they always have. But, what if there were some algorithm bots that we could follow *if we wanted to*? We'd interact with them the same way we interact with user-created bots: follow them if we want, unfollow them if they get annoying. They'd put posts in our feeds. The user experience doesn't change, there's just more stuff there.
The reason I'm suggesting multiple bots is that I think they should be a) cute, b) comprehensible, and c) stupid. And, d) they should be tumblr crabs. Imagine: There are twenty or so crab bots out there. They all have names, and their profile pictures are the same pixelated crab emoji except all in different colors with a different hat or thing in their claw. But each one has a different algorithm. Maybe there's a green one named Sally The Crab and she has a flower. Her page is titled "I'll bring you pictures of landscapes!" and if I follow her, then whenever it's time for her post to show up on my feed, I get a photo that someone else recently posted, that has been somehow determined to be a landscape photo. Maybe Ivan The Crab shows me literally the most recent post that anyone posted to the site. Maybe Rodrigues The Crab randomly chooses a reblog of a random post that's at least 1 year old and has at least 1,000 reblogs, or Maureen The Crab shows me a random user's 10th post. Or, I can go to any of their pages, and I can see an entire blog full of whatever their specialty is. Or, I can choose not to follow any of them and my user experience remains unchanged.
But here are some very important notes:
- These bots choose different things for different people. When it comes time for Ivan The Crab to post to my feed, he chooses a post based on his algorithm. When Ivan posts to your feed, his algorithm will almost certainly choose a different post. When I go to Ivan's page, it will almost certainly not show me the post he put on my feed, or on yours. In this way, they don't behave like real users - they have the complete tumblr database and API available to them. This way, it's not like winning the lottery when a crab finds your post, and it's much more likely that a given post will end up in front of *someone*.
- I would still like a slider or something to control how often a crab posts to my feed. If I have my slider set to 1/30 posts (or whatever), then on the 30th post I see, one of the crabs I follow will run its algorithm and show me something. I probably won't use tumblr for the purpose of seeing what the crabs have to show me, I just want to see them stop by every once in a while. If I have my slider set to more than 0 crab posts but I'm not following any crabs, I should probably get an error message.
- The algorithms should be simple and comprehensible! "Algorithm" is a scary word these days. In popular culture it really does have connotations of a huge inscrutable neural network/ machine learning model that's trying to influence culture to some nefarious end. Don't do that. Maybe one or two crabs can try and guess posts that I might like based on my likes and/or reblogs, but I honestly probably won't follow those. Instead, go for something that's non-threatening, fun or interesting or a bit bizarre, and easy for someone who's not a coder to understand. It's all about the accessibility and the feeling of control.
- Crab posts should probably be marked specially, like the "Sponsored" or "Blazed" posts are. Just for maximum transparency. Tumblr users are scared of algorithms, and they're not entirely wrong to be scared of them since algorithms tend to destroy community and tumblr is all about community. Please be transparent.
- If I reblog a crab post, I don't think the reblog chain should show that. If someone likes one of my posts enough to reblog it, I don't really want to know whether they found it organically or from a crab putting it in their feed.
- Maybe new users should automatically start out following some crabs - either all of them or a curated selection. Maybe the curated selection should even include a very annoying one, so people are motivated to figure out how to use the unfollow feature early?
Anyway that's what I think :) 🦀
Tumblr’s Core Product Strategy
Here at Tumblr, we’ve been working hard on reorganizing how we work in a bid to gain more users. A larger user base means a more sustainable company, and means we get to stick around and do this thing with you all a bit longer. What follows is the strategy we're using to accomplish the goal of user growth. The @labs group has published a bit already, but this is bigger. We’re publishing it publicly for the first time, in an effort to work more transparently with all of you in the Tumblr community. This strategy provides guidance amid limited resources, allowing our teams to focus on specific key areas to ensure Tumblr’s future.
The Diagnosis
In order for Tumblr to grow, we need to fix the core experience that makes Tumblr a useful place for users. The underlying problem is that Tumblr is not easy to use. Historically, we have expected users to curate their feeds and lean into curating their experience. But this expectation introduces friction to the user experience and only serves a small portion of our audience.
Tumblr’s competitive advantage lies in its unique content and vibrant communities. As the forerunner of internet culture, Tumblr encompasses a wide range of interests, such as entertainment, art, gaming, fandom, fashion, and music. People come to Tumblr to immerse themselves in this culture, making it essential for us to ensure a seamless connection between people and content.
To guarantee Tumblr’s continued success, we’ve got to prioritize fostering that seamless connection between people and content. This involves attracting and retaining new users and creators, nurturing their growth, and encouraging frequent engagement with the platform.
Our Guiding Principles
To enhance Tumblr’s usability, we must address these core guiding principles.
Expand the ways new users can discover and sign up for Tumblr.
Provide high-quality content with every app launch.
Facilitate easier user participation in conversations.
Retain and grow our creator base.
Create patterns that encourage users to keep returning to Tumblr.
Improve the platform’s performance, stability, and quality.
Below is a deep dive into each of these principles.
Principle 1: Expand the ways new users can discover and sign up for Tumblr.
Tumblr has a “top of the funnel” issue in converting non-users into engaged logged-in users. We also have not invested in industry standard SEO practices to ensure a robust top of the funnel. The referral traffic that we do get from external sources is dispersed across different pages with inconsistent user experiences, which results in a missed opportunity to convert these users into regular Tumblr users. For example, users from search engines often land on pages within the blog network and blog view—where there isn’t much of a reason to sign up.
We need to experiment with logged-out tumblr.com to ensure we are capturing the highest potential conversion rate for visitors into sign-ups and log-ins. We might want to explore showing the potential future user the full breadth of content that Tumblr has to offer on our logged-out pages. We want people to be able to easily understand the potential behind Tumblr without having to navigate multiple tabs and pages to figure it out. Our current logged-out explore page does very little to help users understand “what is Tumblr.” which is a missed opportunity to get people excited about joining the site.
Actions & Next Steps
Improving Tumblr’s search engine optimization (SEO) practices to be in line with industry standards.
Experiment with logged out tumblr.com to achieve the highest conversion rate for sign-ups and log-ins, explore ways for visitors to “get” Tumblr and entice them to sign up.
Principle 2: Provide high-quality content with every app launch.
We need to ensure the highest quality user experience by presenting fresh and relevant content tailored to the user’s diverse interests during each session. If the user has a bad content experience, the fault lies with the product.
The default position should always be that the user does not know how to navigate the application. Additionally, we need to ensure that when people search for content related to their interests, it is easily accessible without any confusing limitations or unexpected roadblocks in their journey.
Being a 15-year-old brand is tough because the brand carries the baggage of a person’s preconceived impressions of Tumblr. On average, a user only sees 25 posts per session, so the first 25 posts have to convey the value of Tumblr: it is a vibrant community with lots of untapped potential. We never want to leave the user believing that Tumblr is a place that is stale and not relevant.
Actions & Next Steps
Deliver great content each time the app is opened.
Make it easier for users to understand where the vibrant communities on Tumblr are.
Improve our algorithmic ranking capabilities across all feeds.
Principle 3: Facilitate easier user participation in conversations.
Part of Tumblr’s charm lies in its capacity to showcase the evolution of conversations and the clever remarks found within reblog chains and replies. Engaging in these discussions should be enjoyable and effortless.
Unfortunately, the current way that conversations work on Tumblr across replies and reblogs is confusing for new users. The limitations around engaging with individual reblogs, replies only applying to the original post, and the inability to easily follow threaded conversations make it difficult for users to join the conversation.
Actions & Next Steps
Address the confusion within replies and reblogs.
Improve the conversational posting features around replies and reblogs.
Allow engagements on individual replies and reblogs.
Make it easier for users to follow the various conversation paths within a reblog thread.
Remove clutter in the conversation by collapsing reblog threads.
Explore the feasibility of removing duplicate reblogs within a user’s Following feed.
Principle 4: Retain and grow our creator base.
Creators are essential to the Tumblr community. However, we haven’t always had a consistent and coordinated effort around retaining, nurturing, and growing our creator base.
Being a new creator on Tumblr can be intimidating, with a high likelihood of leaving or disappointment upon sharing creations without receiving engagement or feedback. We need to ensure that we have the expected creator tools and foster the rewarding feedback loops that keep creators around and enable them to thrive.
The lack of feedback stems from the outdated decision to only show content from followed blogs on the main dashboard feed (“Following”), perpetuating a cycle where popular blogs continue to gain more visibility at the expense of helping new creators. To address this, we need to prioritize supporting and nurturing the growth of new creators on the platform.
It is also imperative that creators, like everyone on Tumblr, feel safe and in control of their experience. Whether it be an ask from the community or engagement on a post, being successful on Tumblr should never feel like a punishing experience.
Actions & Next Steps
Get creators’ new content in front of people who are interested in it.
Improve the feedback loop for creators, incentivizing them to continue posting.
Build mechanisms to protect creators from being spammed by notifications when they go viral.
Expand ways to co-create content, such as by adding the capability to embed Tumblr links in posts.
Principle 5: Create patterns that encourage users to keep returning to Tumblr.
Push notifications and emails are essential tools to increase user engagement, improve user retention, and facilitate content discovery. Our strategy of reaching out to you, the user, should be well-coordinated across product, commercial, and marketing teams.
Our messaging strategy needs to be personalized and adapt to a user’s shifting interests. Our messages should keep users in the know on the latest activity in their community, as well as keeping Tumblr top of mind as the place to go for witty takes and remixes of the latest shows and real-life events.
Most importantly, our messages should be thoughtful and should never come across as spammy.
Actions & Next Steps
Conduct an audit of our messaging strategy.
Address the issue of notifications getting too noisy; throttle, collapse or mute notifications where necessary.
Identify opportunities for personalization within our email messages.
Test what the right daily push notification limit is.
Send emails when a user has push notifications switched off.
Principle 6: Performance, stability and quality.
The stability and performance of our mobile apps have declined. There is a large backlog of production issues, with more bugs created than resolved over the last 300 days. If this continues, roughly one new unresolved production issue will be created every two days. Apps and backend systems that work well and don't crash are the foundation of a great Tumblr experience. Improving performance, stability, and quality will help us achieve sustainable operations for Tumblr.
Improve performance and stability: deliver crash-free, responsive, and fast-loading apps on Android, iOS, and web.
Improve quality: deliver the highest quality Tumblr experience to our users.
Move faster: provide APIs and services to unblock core product initiatives and launch new features coming out of Labs.
Conclusion
Our mission has always been to empower the world’s creators. We are wholly committed to ensuring Tumblr evolves in a way that supports our current users while improving areas that attract new creators, artists, and users. You deserve a digital home that works for you. You deserve the best tools and features to connect with your communities on a platform that prioritizes the easy discoverability of high-quality content. This is an invigorating time for Tumblr, and we couldn’t be more excited about our current strategy.

The like-don't-reblog culture of Tumblr is annoying af, as usual. Are people not reblogging because we're not mutuals? And are people even aware that you can't be mutuals with a sideblog? You can follow anyone from a sideblog, only from the mainblog, and I choose the blogs I follow carefully cos I want to curate my dash to be exactly what I want to see on it, and to keep out stuff I do not want to see on it. There's no point (for me) in following people whose every tag I would have to filter out anyway.
Feeling like the mutual game on this website has gotten out of hand, and it's spreading everywhere. I feel that even in Discord people sometimes stop interacting with people they are not mutuals with on other social medias. It's so bizarre to me. I only have Discord, Tumblr, and Instagram and I rarely follow people unless I really want to see the stuff on my dash or feed, so I don't really have any so-called mutuals anywhere. Also Tumblr was never about mutuals, and I think it has gone even worse now that Tumblr actually shows your mutuals in your notes. Before that, I already used the XKit add-on, but it was mainly just to make sure my Tumblr doesn't unfollow people without me knowing, because that has also been a glitch on this website before...
So yeah idk what's going on, but I feel that the other social medias are destroying the internet and the good old-school way of "interact with people you want to interact even if they are not your friends (yet)", which was present especially on message boards and places like LiveJournal communities.

Updated my rules! Important things to notice are:
I'm now mutuals only, meaning I will only RP with those I follow and that follows be back. This is just so I can limit myself a bit more and don't get overwhelmed with threads.
I altered my smut rule, because yes, I'm still not very interested, but Edward is pretty much interested and he usually convinces me. So this blog will contain nsfw stuff (tagged as such) now and then. lol
Included the information that I haven't watched Gotham and if you follow only interested in interacting with that specific Riddler, this is not the place for you. (Since I got inquires about that more than once, I figured it was good info to put on my rules)
Added an explanation that I usually wait for a week to see if someone will follow me back and I unfollow after that because I get anxious, but if I followed and unfollowed, and you're here now--- Know that I really want to write with you, I'm just tiny and anxious and thought you didn't want to. :')
