2 and 27 for Hapax & Fuller

2. Can they take care of a plant? What about a pet? What about a child?

Hapax could take care of a plant or pet for sure, and has quietly enjoyed doing so in the past when she was stationed at an out-of-the-way outpost with one other super cranky and antisocial corsair, who was the closest thing Hapax has had to a friend before Fuller (attempt #1 by Petra to get her out of the way enough that her inability to do social interaction correctly isn't hurting morale sjhdhd. I think something happens to that other corsair and she gets kicked back and forth between various units again for a while before Mara lends her to Ikora). Theres a methodicalness and reliability to the needs of a plant or animal, and a visible and predictable return on input that she finds herself incapable of getting from humans. If she was in the real world she's one of the rare people who could actually handle a husky as a pet in the city.

I don't think she's someone who Likes Kids, but you could trust her to babysit a middle schooler. Not longterm for sure, and I don't think she has a handle on what appropriate activities are for children (kids love to learn how to field strip and fire sniper rifles right?) but the kid wouldn't be in danger from her.

Fuller Could care for an animal or plant if she was Interested Enough or needed it for an experiment, but otherwise absolutely not. Not a houseplant girlie in any way shape or form. Every single habitat or nutrient need would be met perfectly and painstakingly recorded until she lost interest or didn't need it anymore, and then it would be briskly killed (animals) or left to dessicate (plants) until she needs the container for something else and dumps it out somewhere.

Fuller should not be allowed near a child without supervision. Hapax might teach a kid how to fire a gun but she'll also teach them gun safety. Fuller will not.

27. Forgiveness or vengeance (or…)?

I think really & truly neither of them have cared enough about other people before for this to be a decision they've had to make.

For minor stuff, Hapax doesn't take the cold shoulder she receives in social interactions as a slight - it's all she's ever known - and Fuller's biggest annoyances are that Ikora keeps blocking her papers from making it to the Last City, but that's Simply What Happens To Visionaries, they are Silenced By The Establishment, so honestly she takes that and Aunor's extremely clear homicidal feelings toward her as a compliment (not even homicidal tbh, as that would imply that Aunor would consider killing Fuller murder and not euthanasia lmfao).

I think both would tend toward vengeance though, on the balance. Whatever happened to Hapax's corsair friend (I have not decided yet lol), if that was violent Hapax certainly eliminated whoever or whatever was responsible with extreme prejudice. But she wouldn't like, go on a crusade against Every Hive Ever or something like that.

It's going to be very very very funny to make them figure out conflict resolution and what to do when your feelings are hurt for the Very First Time with each other bc neither of them have ever actually experienced caring enough about someone to actually Resolve Anything. Hapax ducks her head and follows orders and isolates, and Fuller blows everything up spectacularly. Unfortunately for both of them (and everyone else in the blast zone) they are chained together <3
