It’s so believable that Skrimm is the runt of the litter from some massive goblin clutch because he just has so much annoying little sibling energy.
Each time he came back from “fishing” with Barnabos and made a massive fucking deal about the fish HE caught ALL BY HIMSELF, even though it’s very obvious that Barnabos caught it and then dropped it so he could catch it (and Skrimm knows this)
The time Daisy send him a letter and he makes a massive fuss about it being HIS letter, doesn’t want anyone to touch it and I think even tries to eat it so Jornir doesn’t try to take it. Pure gold.
Later when the princess of wrath gives the gang a letter they must deliver he behaves similarly, making a big deal about wanting to have the letter and being allowed to carry it.
Queenie being an older sister from a big family makes it even better because they match each other’s freaks incredibly, whenever they are left alone to do a task they immediately devolve into chaos siblings. That time they show Jornir that horrific bone snowflake gives “children show they poor mother some weird shit they found in the park” and I couldn’t feel more for Jornir.
#Jornir is the mother of the group#and Barnabos is the father#no idea what’s going on with Taishen#he’s like their poor cousin that has to live with them for whatever reason#idk#legends of avantris#icebound#skrimm stabbaskotch#barnabos the dreadwake#queenie march#taishen fireblossom#jornir

absolutely fascinated with how Honey somehow manages to haunt both the narrative AND the players themselves over the course of Icebound
she had such little screentime - barely a full session - and yet she’s their first failure. Unequivocally, Honey’s death acts as the party’s first genuine failure. Not Roland (they couldn’t have saved him if they tried), not the Captain (the Princess of Wrath took that choice from them), but it was Honey that they tried so hard to save and couldn’t.
And then they find Daisy, and she looks so similar, and they do everything they can to save her, because like hell are they going to get both of them killed, and it works!
And it’s so INTERESTING because they never forget about Honey, even when they never talk about her. They named her and they barely ever talk about her. Even in the most recent episodes - when they’ve known Daisy for 10x as long as they ever knew her sister - they’ll still slip up and call Daisy by the wrong name. It’s so painfully obvious that they still blame themselves for her death even when they’re defending themselves to Myelin.
It’s why Barnabos tries so hard to discourage Daisy from travelling with them, and why Jornir constantly reminds her she might die if she leaves her father and the other humans, and why Queenie puts such an emphasis on Honey’s bow.
(It’s also very interesting that Mikey seems to slip up the most and gets the names confused. Man’s HAUNTED haunted)
We never even get to see Honey and Daisy have a conversation - not even in flashbacks - but Honey’s been there the entire time, just off-screen.

Legends of Avantris Characters I think should be given babies:
[This is in my non - professional opinion. I just think it's fun. This is also not a complete list as I still have to make my way through both CoS and BDW]
OuaW:
Morning Frost: He already expressed an interest in having a litter of kittens before going into the feywild. I just think this feels natural.
Gricko: He's already a dad, but I want hootise to be an older sister.
Gideon Coal: Yes. I think it'd be a fun time.
Kremy Lecroux: Maybe...I am not too sure on him.

Icebound:
Taishen Fireblossom: Yes. I think he'd be a great dad.
Barnabos Dreadwake: Yes. Give him a chance to be a father.
Queenie March: I am 50/50 on her, but I am leaning towards yes.

Skrim Stabbaskotch: No. I love you deeply, but no.
Edge of Midnight:
Lethica Nightborne: Yes.

Bounty hunter Barnabos!!! Better feared known as the Dreadwake
Info under cut
Info: he’s one of the most well known and feared bounty hunter in all of the outer rim (known as the dreadwake), he travelled alone for awhile but when he meet Skrimm he was bored and thought Skrimm was funny so forcefully became his co-pilot. His spears are made out of beskar and he prefers close corders combat, but he’s still pretty good at ranged combat. He’s still quite old and has been bounty hunting for most of his life, it brings in money and he likes travelling the galaxy. He’s also trying to help Skrimm with his debt while also scolding him constantly about why he would steal and ENTIRE SHIPMENT of kyber crystals and then lose it gambling.
Barnabos’s first bounty was his own father, his father was a wanted criminal and was running all over the galaxy trying to get away from his actions. It took Barnabos 4 months to find his father and was originally going to bring him back alive, but after he heard the sentence his father was gonna face; it didn’t sit well with him, he deserved to hurt like he hurt. So before Barnabos reached his home world, he killed his father but not before giving him a pice of his mind.
(I wonder who my favourite icebound character is other then Daisy)

Fleshing out Mayhem's relationship with the rest of the characters in icebound. This is still in progress
Let's start with Barnabos.
Short answer: Father and daughter bond.
Long answer: They get along super well, not because of their thirst for bloodshed and violence. Mayhem will prank this guy a lot, and Barnabos will just go. "Keep throwin' them, missy! Let's see if your little sparkles are strong for this old man!"
This is because of Mayhem's childish nature, always clinging to Barnabos' arm (although he doesn't give a shit, maybe). This is also because Mayhem can finally have someone who can match her energy!
Barnabos sees Mayhem as someone who's too strong, too energetic, and too chaotic for their size and age (girl is in her early to mid twenties). Not only that, he likes that she listens a lot about his stories in his old days. He worries about her safety, but he knows he shouldn't doubt her, though there are times when she does get herself in danger for the thrill of it. She kinda got scolded for that.
But anyway, they both deeply care for each other. Mayhem has someone she can rely on, someone who can really listen to her and can handle her problems (not in a fixing way, in a "I see that you're going through that, don't worry, that won't change how I view you" way), someone who can protect her (properly in my own view).
I can definitely see Barnabos be the father figure to Mayhem throughout this journey
Spoilers in episode 27 of icebound

Icon,Saint&Reading: Sun. Nov., 22, 2020
Commemorated on November 9_Julian calendar
The Nun Matrona ( 492)
The Nun Matrona was born in the city of Pergium Pamphylia (Asia Minor) in the V Century. They gave her in marriage to a well-off man named Dometian. When her daughter Theodotia was born, they resettled in Constantinople. The twenty-five year old Matrona loved to walk to the temple of God. She spent entire days there, ardently praying to the Lord and weeping for her sins. At the church the saint made the acquaintance of two pious women-elders, Eugenia and Susanna, who from the time of their youth asceticised there in work and prayer. Matrona began to imitate the God-pleasing life of an ascetic, humbling her flesh by abstinence and fasting, for which she had to endure criticism by her husband. Her soul yearned for a full renunciation of the world. After long hesitation Saint Matrona decided to leave her family and besought the Lord to reveal, whether her intent was pleasing to Him. The Lord heard the prayer of His servant. Once during a light sleep she had a dream that she had fled her husband, who was in pursuit of her. The saint concealed herself in a throng of monks approaching her, and her husband did not notice her. Matrona accepted this dream as a Divine directive to enter a men's monastery, where her husband would not guess to look for her. She gave over her daughter for raising to the woman-elder Susanna, and having cut her own hair and disguised herself in men's attire, she went to the monastery of the Monk Bassion (Comm. 10 October). There the Nun Matrona passed herself off as the eunuch Babylos and was accepted into the number of the brethren. Apprehensive lest the monks learn that she was a woman, the saint passed her time in constant quietude and much work. The brethren marveled at the great virtue of Babylos. One time the saint with the other monks was working in the monastery vineyard. The newly-made monk Barnabos noted that her ear-lobe was pierced and asked about it. "It is necessary, brother, to till the soil and not watch other people, which is not proper for a monk", – answered the saint. After a certain while it was revealed in a dream to the Monk Bassion, the hegumen of the monastery, that the eunuch Babylos – was a woman. It was likewise revealed to Blessed Akakios, hegumen of the nearby Abrahamite monastery. The Monk Bassion summoned Saint Matrona and strictly demanded an answer, for what purpose she had infiltrated the monastery, whether to corrupt the monks or shame the monastery. With tears the saint told the hegumen about all her past life, about her pursuing husband, hostile to her efforts and prayers, and about the dream-vision, directing her to go to the men's monastery. Becoming convinced that her intent was pure and chaste, the Monk Bassion sent off Saint Matrona to a women's monastery in the city of Emesa. In this monastery the saint dwelt for many years, inspiring the sisters by her high monastic achievement. When the hegumeness died, by the unanimous wish of the nuns the Nun Matrona became head of the convent. The fame about her virtuous activities, and about a miraculous gift of healing, which she acquired from the Lord, spread far beyond the walls of the monastery. Dometian also heard about the deeds of the nun. When Saint Matrona learned that her husband was come to the monastery and wanted to see her, she secretly went off to Jerusalem, and then to Mount Sinai, and from there to Beirut, where she settled in an abandoned pagan temple. The local inhabitants learned of her reclusion, and began to come to her. The holy ascetic turned many from their pagan impiety and converted them to Christ. Women and girls began to settle by the dwelling of the nun and soon there emerged a new monastery. Having fulfilled the will of God, revealed to her in a dream, the saint left Beirut and journeyed to Constantinople where she learned, that her husband had died. With the blessing of her spiritual father, the Monk Bassion, the ascetic founded in Constantinople a women's monastery, to which transferred also sisters from the Beirut convent founded by her. The Constantinople monastery of the Nun Matrona was known for its strict monastic rule and the virtuous life of its sisters. In extreme old age Saint Matrona was deigned a vision of the coelestial paradise and the place prepared for her there after 75 years of monastic work. At the age of one hundred, the Nun Matrona, having blessed the sisters, quietly expired to the Lord (about the year 492).
ICON: Quickly-Hearing
The Icon of the Mother of God, named "Quickly-Hearing" – an ancient wonderworking image, is located on Holy Mount Athos at the Dokhiareia monastery. The monastery tradition suggests that its time of writing belongs to the X Century, during the time of the monastery head Saint Neophytes (Comm. this same day). In the year 1664 the kitchener Nilos, coming at night to the kitchen with a burning torch, heard a voice from the image of the Mother of God raised up over the door, summoning him in future not to walk here and not to soot the icon. The monk thought that this was a prank of some one of the brethren; he disregarded the warning and continued to walk into the kitchen with the sooty torch. Suddenly he fell blind. With fervent repentance the Monk Nilos prayed before the icon of the Mother of God, begging forgiveness. And again he heard the wondrous voice, proclaiming forgiveness and return of sight and a command to announce to all the brethren: "From this time this My icon shalt be name Quickly-Hearing, since quickly to all hastening to it shalt appear mercy and fulfillment of entreaty". The MostHoly Mother of God did then fulfill and now fulfills Her promise – quick help and consolation manifest for all who with faith hasten unto Her.
In Russia copies of the wonderworking Athonite image "Quickly-Hearing" were always availed to with great love and veneration. Many of them were glorified by miracles. In particular, instances were noted of healing from the sickness of plague and demonic-possession. In the year 1938 the Athos Dokhiareia monastery presented to the Russian Spiritual Mission at Jerusalem a copy of the wonderworking Icon of the Mother of God "Quickly-Hearing".

Mark 16:1-8
1Now when the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, that they might come and anoint Him.2 Very early in the morning, on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb when the sun had risen.3 And they said among themselves, "Who will roll away the stone from the door of the tomb for us?" 4 But when they looked up, they saw that the stone had been rolled away-for it was very large. 5 And entering the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a long white robe sitting on the right side; and they were alarmed. 6 But he said to them, "Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him. 7 But go, tell His disciples-and Peter-that He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him, as He said to you.8 So they went out quickly and fled from the tomb, for they trembled and were amazed. And they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.
Ephesians 2:14-22
14 For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation,15 having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, 16 and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity.17 And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. 18 For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father. 19 Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, 20 having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, 21 in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, 22 in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.

LOA Star Wars!! Part daisy!!
Info under cut
I technically did her first but it wasn’t in the style of the other drawings so I did it now cuz I had a busy day today. Witch light characters will continue tomorrow with Twig.
Anywho onto info!
she’s a Jedi knight who was trained by Taishen, and she has a green lightsaber blade because she is very in-tune with the force. She still can’t speak and no one knows how she got the scar on her neck, she uses hand codes and hitting to communicate. Her home planet is Drakkar even though it’s known to be barely inhabitable, with the only settlement on the planet being an enclosed city. Daisy is also currently looking for her father, who is a known outlaw, to first meet him and get some answers for why she has a scar on her neck and how the hell she’s from Drakkar
Daisy is also travelling with Skrimm and Barnabos. she doesn’t know how to fly a star ship, also hanging out with a smuggler and bounty hunter is helping her find her dad. Barnabos knows of her mission and thinks it’s kinda like his first bounty while Skrimm knows nothing, he’s just happy to have an extra pair of hands and someone with a laser sword.
