arthur being able to feel merlins magic whenever he uses it bc it makes him feel all warm and tingly and at first he's stumped about it and goes to morgana for advice bc hello?? merlin makes him feel weird?? and its only merlin. it only happens when he's around. it's gotta be his fault. and morgana is like "lol nerd you like him" and he's like "oh fuck" bc he has the emotional intelligence of a walnut and begins to notice the warm and fuzzy feeling grows stronger the closer merlin is and is like "welp. im screwed" and then a magic reveal later and arthur notices the feeling happens whenever merlin uses magic and he's like "oh. thank god." and finally realizes the feeling was merlin's magic, not that arthur has feelings for him. it becomes the new norm and then merlin is dressing him for the day and makes a stupid joke before ducking arthur's hand that was going to cuff his ear, he laughs and walked around behind arthur and the warm, fuzzy feeling returns and he's like "stop. no cheating." and merlin is confused and arthur's like "i can feel you using magic, idiot. remember?" and merlin is like "i'm not using magic tho" and arthur scoffs like "alright, sure, whatever you say."

THIS becomes the new norm of merlin and arthur bantering and then arthur accusing him of using magic and merlin insisting that he isn't. then finally the feeling happens when merlin is staring directly at arthur, comforting him in a moment of vulnerability, and arthur can see his eyes remain blue but he feels as he normally does when merlin uses magic. he still accuses merlin of using magic but merlin just rolls his eyes and once again insists that he isn't, arthur can literally see when he uses magic bc his eyes flash gold. did they flash gold just now? hm? did they arthur? arthur then rebuts "then why did i feel all warm and fuzzy?" and merlin blinks thrice before grinning like the cat who caught the canary. he won't tell arthur about his feelings for merlin, he'll let him flounder for a bit. it's always fun to watch him be an idiot and as much as he wants to kiss his stupid face bc finally (finally) his feelings are reciprocated, it's enough for now to know that arthur feels the same. arthur is infuriated that merlin won't tell him. merlin is highly amused at his stupid not yet boyfriend

i feel like in s13 they were really losing the plot. like what do you mean jack and mary are trapped in an alternate dimension where michael is hot but evil and to get them back the rest of tfw has to do a spell they don’t even think will work because they don’t know asmodeus kept gabriel hidden away for years like rapunzel so he’ll conveniently be around to help but first cas has to go to syria and get married to the djinn queen while sam and dean live out an actual mafia movie and all three of them get trapped in a cartoon because of an evil real estate manager and then to get the last ingredient for the spell they have to fight a tentacle porn monster from another alternate dimension, all while lucifer is shacking up with danneel ackles and successfully taking over heaven? oh and sam and dean were stuck in jurassic world for a bit and donatello went insane via chicken wings

morgana and arthur have a sleepover when they’re teenagers and morgana brings out this summoning spell and arthur is all “magic?!?!?! :o thats wrong we cant do that” and morgana just says “pussy.” and then arthur is helping her set everything up. they light the candles and chant in the old tongue and then BOOM a figure appears but it’s not the mighty god emrys the text talked of, it’s just a boy a couple of years younger than arthur, scared and confused, who answers to the name merlin rather than emrys. while they’re arguing, merlin goes stiff and is like “do you hear that?” and then trails out of morgana’s chambers in a trance and obviously morgana and arthur follow him and they end up way beneath the castle where theres a fucking dragon???? now emrys, the once and future king, and the witch are chillin w a dragon and talking about destiny. none of them are happy about this btw

i need y’all to understand the vision-

Merlin and Arthur are two sides of the same coin. Two halves of each others souls. Magic binds them, so they can feel each other. Merlin’s always known. He knows magic, it’s easy for him to recognize.

But Arthur doesn’t. He was born of magic- he has to be sensitive to it. And yet he was so isolated from it. How could he know? How could he recognize it?

Merlin feels magic between him and Arthur, but Arthur feels it differently.

He’s always hot. Sweaty in the sun, prone to overheating. He’s quick to discomfort, to waking in the night, to flushes on his cheeks.

Merlin’s always cold. Icy fingers and layered clothes and basking in the sun.

When Arthur meets Merlin- he finally isn’t hot. He feels Merlin as the ice in his chest, the chill chasing down his veins. Like the first gulp of cold water when you’ve been out in the sun all day. Arthur’s body, back at equilibrium.

He feels Merlin in that balance. It is magic, but Arthur doesn’t know that. He’s describing with what he does know. And when Merlin is gone- Arthur’s back to that overwhelming heat. Too hot, too hot, too hot-
