Honestly, I do kinda get the love for Birdperson, I mean he's cool and stuff, but...there is one thing that nobody brings up about him as a fucked up thing that he did that really bugs me.

So, in multiple episodes, for example, Ricksy Business, and Get Schwifty. Birdperson tries to convince Morty to forgive Rick, maybe not that exactly, but he always tries to paint Morty as the bad guy for wanting to leave Rick. Like saying "Whatever helps you sleep at night" when Morty said he's sick of having adventures with Rick, and rightfully so. And saying "In Bird culture, this is considered a dick move" in Get Schwifty when Morty wanted to save all of his family, excluding Rick, when the planet was about to be destroyed. (That's harsh, but considering all of the shit Rick pulls it's understandable)

I mean, I do love both Rick and Morty, and their dynamic is the heart of the show. So I don't actually expect them to drop it long-term. But Birdperson always painting Rick as the victim and Morty being the one in the wrong is...questionable at best. And definitely isn't helping Morty's codependency any, inserting the thought in his head that he's bad if he leaves.

This is NOT a Birdperson hate post, every character in Rick and Morty has done their fair share of fucked up shit. It just kinda bugs me how they treat him like a saint who's done no wrong, when that's far from the truth. And that's not even bringing up the amount of times he tried to outright KILL RICK when he was just trying to help him overcome a traumatic event in Rickternal Friendshine of the Spotless Mort. (I also love Rick too, I promise-)
