Hi!! It's Liaa and if you don't know me i'm a kpop mbd creator i'm not sooo old or recent, but I do have some notable tips that I can give you if you need a push to improve (or start creating) your moodboards based on my criteria and experience ♡ bonus at the end!

Before you r e a d this : This guide is not a rule! You don't have to apply all the tips, feel free to apply them depending on your own style and taste.

In choosing the image on which the mb is based I want to separate them into 3 levels

Easy: An image that has common and striking colors that you can find popular aesthetics - easy to combine, harmony in colors etc!

Not so difficult: an image that has one or more not so popular colors,a background or image a little more complete, with aesthetics not so seen or visual

Difficult: The image has a color filter (dying) It has extra decoration or accessories, it has a specific bright (or duller) color (it means in any case that any image to combine will have to be edited to get the exact color)

Not everything is as difficult as I describe it! Getting started tips to make it much easierrr

# 𝐓𝐈𝐏 𝟐 : ¿How to decorate it?

1. Collages on PICSART cute and easy��� Make sure that the images complement each other from one side to the other so that there is balance and very importantly give it a center image!

2. Dividers You can make them yourself (On PICSART again) or find them here on tumblr!

I also have my own dividers if you want to check them out ദ്ദി ˉ͈̀꒳ˉ͈́ )✧

3. Gifs I always move the images a little to make it more striking! (you can do it in capcut and create the gif here on tumblr♡) another tutorial of example gif here

4. Texts! separate the angles you can always put a poem or some lyric music! (To add color to the text I have a tutorial here) You can always add "bios", symbols or kaoemojis since they are closely linked to the aesthetics in the texts

5.Pngs: It's very cutee and also gives an extra resource ((I don't use it as much as before but it can work well on quite a few mbds) I would recommend putting it in the middle

# 𝐓𝐈𝐏 𝟑 : ¿How to combine images? (My way to do it!)

Taking into account the general color palette, look at the image and check if the most prominent colors are warm or cold (including the background will be very useful) this way it will be easier for you to combine the tones without really having to find the exact color of the image! It will make it look much better.

# 𝐓𝐈𝐏 𝟒 : Center and sides

Keep in mind the center of your moodboard! As it is still a square (think like it's a painting) you can have more balance if you put certain colors or certain photos on one side or the other and put the main photo (or a collage) in the middle! So that it harmonizes and draws more attention.

# 𝐓𝐈𝐏 𝟓 : Tonal degrees

Always keep in mind what tonal degree the color of the photo has. Depending on that, you can look for images with the same tonality! As I already mentioned, if it is more opaque or stronger or brighter, it makes it much easier to identify a better combination.

# 𝐓𝐈𝐏 𝟔 : Combination

At first glance, you might be able to identify the most prominent colors in a photo, but taking into account color theory, the color of that photo only exists when it is contrasted by another, that is, based on the combination of colors with each other.

So when choosing photos to match, look for the two colors together in the photo to give a more similar impression even if the colors are not exact (In any case, you can also edit the color of images that have the same tone as your photo by changing the image and the difference would not be noticeable)

# 𝐓𝐈𝐏 𝟕 : More ways to apply aesthetics . . .

Related objects: depending on the image, there are also usually certain objects that can be related to the aesthetics of the photo. You can always add details with reference to the aesthetics that, without necessarily matching the photo, can look good.

Angles and sizes: Looking at the reference photo we can find photos that have the same dimensions as this one will make it look pretty good and make sense to put together

Requirements for adding a photo: to make it easier to combine you can write down things to keep in mind so that they combine, for example:

1.Color and Color palette

2.Size, shapes and angles

3.Common objects

4.Balancing abundance (for example if a photo has a lot of details, you have to find similar ones and at the same time find photos that have less details to give it a better impression.)

# 𝐓𝐈𝐏 𝟖 : Your own Style and have fun!

Don't rush into having your own style, eventually your mbds will be guided by your tastes and then you will have your own stamp unconsciously so don't rush!

Have fun and take your time making mbds, that's the secret formula to making a good moodboard♡

𝓑𝓸𝓷𝓾𝓼 𝐁𝐎𝐍𝐔𝐒𝓑𝓸𝓷𝓾𝓼

Match Technique 💋🎀: My painful technique for making everything match so well comes from my perfectionism and I'll tell you what I do,sometimes the photos match each other perfectly (which is perfectly fine lol if you want you can leave it like that) but to make sure.. what I do is separate each of the images and compare them to each other to see the contrast and thus realize if they really match.

Searching: ¿How did we get to the final result? There will always be many times in sex where you simply won't like the result, I always recommend having at least two stages when looking for a good result.

This requires quite a bit of experimentation.

Stage 1 "Draft" : Where you look for the basis of what you want

Stage 2 "Improvements" : You look for the parts that don't fit and why.

Stage 3 "Details": The finishing touches!

the soft hum of the engine and the chatter of your child in the backseat should've been comforting. you should've been able to relax and let the memories of the past weekend settle into something pleasant. but instead, all you could focus on was the secret bubbling inside you. a secret that was both thrilling and terrifying.

you’d been divorced from rafe for a year now. your kid's birthday party had been the excuse to bring you both back together, but the real reason for the trip was the way your kid begged. "please, just one weekend, mom, dad, both of you." and you had agreed, knowing that the family dynamic your child craved was slipping further away every day. rafe had agreed, too, though you both had kept your distance—until that night.

it had been a mistake. a drunken mistake. you had stayed in the same room because of space limitations, and the old chemistry that used to light up every corner of the house ignited that night, despite everything. you were both too broken, too hurt by the years of marriage that fell apart, but still... you found yourselves in bed together, tangled in passion.

now you were facing the consequences of that moment, and you couldn’t help but feel like you were about to crash into a wall of reality. you’d missed your period, and the test didn’t lie. the baby was his.

you pull up to the familiar house, the same one where you had shared so many memories, and where your child now split their time. your kid jumps out of the car and runs into the house, leaving you standing there, nerves tightening your chest. you take a deep breath and close your eyes, steeling yourself. you could do this.

the door opens, and there he is. rafe. his tall frame, messy hair, and that look in his eyes—the same look that once made your heart race. now, it just made your stomach churn with anxiety. he stares at you for a second, eyebrows knitting in confusion.

“hey,” you say softly, fighting the tremble in your voice.

“hey, you okay?” he asks, voice rough but laced with concern. “you look like you’re about to pass out.”

you wince, your heartbeat picking up speed. “i, uh, need to talk to you about something.”

rafe’s gaze sharpens, his posture shifting into something more guarded. “what’s wrong? is it about the kid?”

“no, no, it’s about... me,” you mutter, then stop yourself. "well, actually, about us."

the silence between you stretches, thick and uncomfortable. he raises an eyebrow. “us? what the hell are you talking about?”

you glance at your hands, nervous to look him in the eye. “rafe, the thing is... i’m pregnant.”

the words fall into the space between you like a bomb, and his expression morphs instantly from confusion to shock. his lips part as he takes a step back. “what?” his voice is barely a whisper, but you hear the panic in it.

you nod, watching him closely. “yeah. i’m pregnant, rafe. and it’s... it’s yours.”

the air seems to freeze around you. rafe stares at you like he’s trying to process the words, like they can’t possibly be true. his jaw tightens, and you can see the conflict churning in his eyes. “you’re fucking kidding me, right?” he snaps, running a hand through his hair.

“no, i’m not,” you reply, your voice growing firmer, though your insides feel like they're about to implode. "i just found out. the timing—hell, it’s a fucking nightmare, but it’s true.”

rafe glares at you, his usual defensiveness rising like a shield. “how the hell did we end up here?” he mutters under his breath, pacing in a circle.

you feel your own frustration bubbling up. “don’t act like this isn’t your fault too, rafe,” you shoot back, your voice louder now. “you think i wanted this? i didn’t ask for this. i didn’t ask to be here with you again, but our kid wanted us both. and now... now i’m stuck in this mess, and you’re here acting like it’s a goddamn surprise.”

he clenches his fists, jaw tightening. "i know, alright? i know i fucked up with you. but this—this is too much." he stops, running a hand over his face. “you could’ve just... kept it from me. this doesn’t have to be real.”

you scoff, feeling the sting of his words. "i’m not that kind of person, rafe. i’m not just going to pretend it didn’t happen. you need to hear this. whether you like it or not, this is our reality now.”

he’s silent for a moment, then steps closer to you. his voice drops to something softer, more strained. “what do you want me to do, huh? you think i can just act like everything’s fine?”

“no,” you say, your eyes meeting his. “but i can’t do this alone. i need you, rafe. i need you to be here. for me. for our kid.”

he exhales sharply, and for the first time, you see something in his eyes that isn’t anger or confusion—it's fear. “i don’t deserve that. you deserve someone who’s stable, who can give you everything you need. i can’t be that guy.”

“stop,” you interrupt him, your voice trembling. “stop trying to push me away. you’re all i’ve ever needed. yeah, things fell apart between us, but we’re both human. i’m not asking for some fucking fairy tale, rafe. i’m asking for you to step up, for our kid, for what we used to have.”

his lips press together, and the tension in the air thickens. then, finally, he speaks. “you’re right. i’m not perfect, but i’ll be here. i’ll try, alright? i’ll try for you. for the baby. i—”

he cuts himself off and takes a deep breath. his voice cracks a little when he adds, “i’m scared as hell, but i’ll try.”

tears well up in your eyes, but you hold them back. “i’m scared too,” you whisper. “but i think we can make it work.”

he steps closer, lifting a hand to gently cup your face, his thumb brushing over your cheek. his voice is low, almost a whisper. “we’ll figure this out. together.”

and for the first time in what felt like forever, you believed him.

the baby in your arms cooed happily, tiny fingers curling around your thumb as you adjusted the strap of your sundress with your free hand. rafe leaned against the doorframe, arms crossed, a smirk tugging at his lips. the way the sunlight spilled through the windows behind you gave you this sort of halo effect. it wasn’t fair, really—how effortlessly perfect you looked, cradling someone else’s kid like you were born to do it.

“you’re getting a little too comfortable there, don’t you think?” his voice carried that teasing edge, but there was something deeper underneath, something softer.

you glanced up, shooting him a grin. “why, are you jealous of a baby, cameron?”

he straightened up, pretending to think it over, one hand brushing through his sun-bleached hair. “depends. are they stealing all your attention from me?”

you rolled your eyes, but he caught the faint blush dusting your cheeks. he always noticed that kind of thing.

“you could come hold him, you know,” you said, tilting your head toward him. “he’s not that scary.”

rafe scoffed, shoving his hands into his pockets. “yeah, sure. just let me swoop in and ruin whatever magic you’ve got going on there.”

“it’s not magic. you just have to be gentle,” you said, as if the word gentle and rafe belonged in the same sentence.

his smirk faltered for a second, something vulnerable flickering across his face. you’d seen it before—the way he tried to play off his insecurities, especially when it came to things he wasn’t used to.

“gentle, huh?” he murmured, stepping closer. his voice dropped slightly, taking on that low, gravelly tone he knew drove you crazy. “think you could teach me how to do that?”

you gave him a look, but your smile betrayed you. “don’t tell me you’re scared of a little baby, rafe.”

“not scared,” he shot back, crouching beside you now, so close you could smell the faint hint of cologne mixed with sunscreen. “just don’t want to screw it up.”

“you won’t.” your voice was softer now, and it made something tighten in his chest. you always had this way of looking at him, like you saw the parts he tried to hide from everyone else.

“here,” you said, shifting slightly so he could take the baby. “just support his head, and you’ll be fine.”

rafe hesitated, his hands hovering awkwardly, but when the baby settled against his chest with a soft gurgle, something shifted in him.

“see? not so bad,” you said, resting your chin in your hand as you watched him.

he looked down at the baby, then back at you, his blue eyes glinting with something mischievous. “you know, you’re really fuckin’ good at this.”

“at what?”

“making me want things I didn’t think I wanted.”

it was cheesy, sure, but the way he said it, low and serious, made your heart stutter.

“maybe that’s not such a bad thing,” you whispered, leaning in just enough for your knee to brush against his.

rafe glanced down at the baby again, then back at you, his lips twitching into a smirk. “guess we’ll just have to see about that.”

later, after the baby had been handed off to its mom and the yard cleared of most of the guests, you caught rafe lounging on the patio, a beer dangling from his fingertips.

you stepped out, the screen door creaking behind you as you crossed the space to him. “what are you doing out here all broody?”

he looked up, his smirk lazy but sharp. “just thinking about how damn good you looked with that kid earlier.”

you paused mid-step, your brows raising. “oh, really?”

“yeah,” he said, leaning back and tilting his head as if sizing you up. “made me wonder how you’d look holding my kid.”

“jesus, rafe.” you tried to keep the heat off your face, but the way he said it, so low and gravelly, had your stomach doing flips.

“what?” he asked innocently, though the way his lips curved betrayed him. “just being honest.”

you shook your head, walking closer until you were standing over him. “you’re ridiculous, you know that?”

“maybe,” he admitted, setting the beer down and grabbing your wrist to tug you into his lap. “but you like me anyway.”
