Around Selçuk (2) (3) (4) (5) by hey tiffany!
Via Flickr:
(1) Library of Celsus. (2) Ephesus. (3) Remains of he Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. It is a little difficult to imagine the massive size of the structure where there is only one column remaining. Our "No Frills" tour guide Octavius explained that the columns were dismantled and moved to build the Basilica Cistern in Istanbul. (4) Church of St. John the Baptist. (5) Şirince View.

Temple of Bacchus at Baalbek, Lebanon
The Temple of Bacchus is part of the Baalbek archaeological site, in the Beqaa Valley region of Lebanon. The temple complex is considered an outstanding archaeological and artistic site of Roman Architecture and was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984. This monument to Bacchus is one of the best preserved and grandest Roman temple ruins; its age is unknown, but its fine ornamentation can be dated to the second century CE.

The Basilica Cistern, or Cisterna Basilica, is the largest of several hundred ancient cisterns that lie beneath the city of Constantinople (Istanbul), Turkey. The cistern, located 150 metres (490 ft) southwest of the Hagia Sophia on the historical peninsula of Sarayburnu, was built in the 6th century during the reign of Byzantine Emperor Justinian I. Today it is kept with little water, for public access inside the space.
