✨ pokémon AU! 🔴✨ clora is mainly fairy & psychic (bc shes sweet but also smart) whereas seb trends towards fire/dark (even tho i only ended up giving him 1 dark pokemon...shhh) i originally gave him a houndour, bc dark + guard dog was such a perfect combo for him, but arcanine ALSO suits him and is way cuter so i had to go with that 🥹 and i had to fit in a raven and a snake pokemon somewhere bc...cmon🥰 BAHAHA
TYSM to the anon who inspired this!! it was so much fun
#also both of them have matching swellows that they dont use in their team...its my pokemon AU equivalent of their matching swallow patronus#& i didnt end up drawing this but when theyre older they also discover Unown in some ancient ruin/catacomb#and so it just kinda ends up following them/they keep it after they discover it#also anon... u said u had notes on ur phone for why sylveon is perfect for clora PLS SEND THOSE...or reply to this...im curious#god im so jealous of clora in that last pic of her being coddled by arcanine and charizard tho (and i guess by seb too😒)#oh to be snuggled by a bunch of pokemon...that should be MEEE!!!! im a cat person irl but god i love arcanine SO MUCH#i always have one in my team when i play and i always name him cheeto🧡#also i only gave seb a gengar bc i like him matching with clora and her having a clefairy BAHAHA..had to get my love of opposites in#gengar does suit him tho i mean just look at that face and that damn smile#same with togepi and corviknight...love the idea of the bird protecting the egg hehe. and ice type alolan vulpix with fire type arcanine#i also almost gave seb a ceruledge or amouredge bc they look like knights bahaha#i also originally gave clora an alcremie instead of lunatone bc i love alcremie...but the shiny lunatone is too perfect for her#a pale crescent moon with blue eyes like HELLO and its psychic..i had to...ravenclaw as hell#hogwarts legacy#sebastian sallow#sebastian sallow x mc#sebastian sallow x oc#hogwarts legacy sebastian#clora clemons#choccyart

howdy prof. teak! i recently got an arctozolt (she's 5mo, adopted her from an archeologist who had helped her learn her manners before turning her over to me. her name is Tozu). was wondering if i'm meant to help her with her runny nose like one might with cubchoo? and what is the runny nose a result of? she's never exactly seemed to be running a fever, but i can't be sure and i haven't seen very many people owning arctozolts. tozu's very energetic and doesn't seem to be very bothered by her runny nose, and none of the pokemon at the pokeparks have gotten sick from her, so i'm a little confused. in short: should i worry about her runny nose, and what does it come from?
Arctozolt and the others from its set are very controversial as a majority of them have very, very poor quality of life. Luckily for you, artctozolt is the best one to own, as its only major concern is in movement.
Arctozolt's runny nose is likely similar to cubchoo's, in that both are related to their Ice typing- but unlike cubchoo, you will want to try and keep arctozolt's airway clear. It isn't at any risk of adverse health effects if you don't, but it does carry pathogens that can get you sick- just like any bodily fluid from any pokemon would.
It's currently unknown why it developed this way. I do not specialize in ancient pokemon, but revived ones do automatically fall under my jurisdiction- it's a complicated crossroads for me here, haha.
#//okay obviously the fossils are mixed up but using the pokedex as referece#because theyre recent i would not say that a professor that doesnt specialize in ancient pokemon would realize theyre fixed up wrong#everybody treats it like its obvious but these guys are NEW in universe.#logically i think only some researchers would say theyre not right and none of them would be in teak's specific field#THEREFOR. AS FAR AS HE'S CONCERNED.#they actually did just look like that#theres a misconception that scientists would know everything like this ^ but i would never ever expect a general biologist to know#shit about fossil IDs like this? teak dissects politoads and writes down shit he sees gengar do. he doesnt know. he didnt take classes#on it.#so if i get any mean asks ill lose my mind#LMAO sorry about the long tags i just know people forget that a professor that lives in this world cant just rip open the game data like us#teak doesnt even know if arceus exists for sure#arctozolt

hi charlie! we all know the old playground rumor 'my uncle's cousin's boss's nephew's grandpa found a mew under a truck and now he has a mythical pokemon that just lives in his house'. of course, we all know that they're never true because the odds of just finding a mew sleeping under a truck are so astronomical as to be ridiculous! but, have you ever encountered a time when one of those super wacky, clearly impossible rumors turned out to be *actually* true after all? if so, what's the story?
oh, absolutely. usually these kinds of stories involve ghost types. at naranja-uva academy in mesagoza there used to be rumors about how, if you stayed in the library until a certain time of night, a terrible demon king might spring out of the shelves to steal your life force...turns out it was a gengar belonging to one of the librarians. it would manipulate shadows on the bookshelves to frighten students, then make them faint using hypnosis. it was having a grand old time!
a really fun instance of this actually comes from ancient paldean legends which speculated that giving a gimmighoul a tremendous hoard of coins would cause it to transform into an incredibly powerful pokemon that would serve you forever...and then, a couple hundred years ago, a coin collector documented the first known evolution of gimmighoul to gholdengo! the legend arose from gimmighoul's association with coins; it just turns out that the legend ended up making a good prediction. some surviving drawings show that they didnt quite nail gholdengo's appearance, but it goes to show that some rumors have a little truth to them!

"A Summoning" video fanart, and brainrot about aspects of my Habit's design.
Long analysis under the cut:
(hey please remember this is just my silly little ramblings about my AU and not some personal attack on anyone else's interpretation of Habit.)
The entire idea behind the God AU started when I watched the "A Summoning" video. The subsequent idea was that if there was old- and maybe even ancient- documentation of Habit's existence, perhaps he had been worshiped by some ancient civilization.
The outfit Evan wears with the Gengar hat and "traditional" robes led me to a fun guessing game as to what the illustration Vinny and Evan see in the book looked like.
His headdress comes from two aspects of his cannon design: Evan's own illustration of Habit's lupine-arachnid "True form" and the iconic Deathproof hat. I wanted his eyes always in shadow, to stay true to his cannon design. And I wanted to draw on more wolf imagery.
As for his physical appearance, I chose something very close to Evan because (in the au at least) Habit chose him for that very reason.
Because my AU did ultimately become about Habit being a big softie who needs to learn how to express his emotions (listen he is babygirl just hear me o- gets shot) I gave him cute freckles and bright eyes, only truly visible when he removes his headdress or hat. He still doesn't like anyone touching his hair or head, as it makes him feel exposed or vulnerable. (the autismmmmm)
That concludes my brainrot, thank you.

Can't possibly be me Zenosposting again - what is this a day ending in Y?
Anyway, I've been thinking about the murder boy again. This has mostly spawned from my replaying of the Stormblood patches and seeing Amnesiac Yotsuyu, which sparked a bit of a Nature vs Nuture debate between me and my friends.
Basically, my question for this post is "How much of Zenos' whole deal is Nature (aka He was just born like that) and how much of it is Nuture (aka the enviornment he grew up). Some of you might content to say Nature and leave it at that, which is a completely valid outlook to have. But for me there's just one... teeny... tiny... little detail that has sent me on a wild consipriacy theory of a ride that's resulted in this post. Emet-FUCKING-Selch.
Listen to me, listen okay? I cannot, CANNOT ignore the fact that this absoulete motherfucker (affectionate) is Zenos's cannonical Great Grandfather. Who was very much alive and kicking during his childhood. Emet-Selch or Solus zos Galvus whatever moniker you wanna give the man, is an Ascian. One of THE Ascians. Not only that, he's 'The Architect" the guy who's job it is to design and engineer the calamities meant to rejoin the Shards of the World back together again. What does he do to achieve this? He builds empires, he starts wars, manipulates people and situations to result in untold elemental chaos. Iirc correctly he's responsible for causing all eight calamities that have occured so far in FFXIV. (Eight got undone but I'm still counting it).
Now for this post I'm going to be focusing mainly on the Seventh, Eighth, and Fourth Umbral Calamities. (Which are the ones coincidentally we're told the most about in game). This Calamities all involved Empires. The Allagan and the Garlean, both of which Emet-Selch was responsible for creating. From the Allagans we have the creation of Dalamud, Cyrus Tower, and the Ultima Weapon. As well as an extensive history of biological research. Cloning, Gene Splicing, Mutation and so on. (A sundered mortal's attempts at creation magjicks perhaps?) The Garleans too, have a notible history of biological research, they draw a lot of their modern technology from Allagan design. No coincidence there given Emet-Selch's involvement. But we've seen them use genetic mutation, cyber augmentation, and cloning (Emet-Selch's shadow the hedgehog ass clone bodies because he refuses to look like anyone other than his unsundered self). The also so a lot of research into the Echo. Hydalyn's mark for her champions, and soul maipulation. (Ala Mihgo Dungeon and In From the Cold Duty both points of note for examples of the Soul being manipulated here - physically torn out of the body).
"Now Gengar " - I hear you ask - "What does this have to do with Nature vs Nuture or Zenos?" Well, I tell you, everything really. Hear me out. Emet-Selch designed the Garlean Empire to be the perfect chaos causing conquest force. They have no ability to use either, making them initially vulnerable as a people to the rest of the races. Building up a tasty, tasty resentment and need to feel superior. He sent them marching to 'reclaim their home' and then to 'unify the three contents under their superior peaceful, organised leadership'. The 'Savage Races' summon evil primals and weild evil distructive magjiks. He gave them a perfect cause and reason to hate everyone else. He gave them magitech to level the field and make them supieror at combat. Garlemald as a nation is the perfect war machine. Allagan 2.0 if you would. And Zenos is the perfect 'Champion' to lead that nation into battle. To spark that next Calamity. Look at the guy. Garleans might be on the taller side (depending on the character. Cid is a shorty), but Varis and Zenos are HUGE. Emet-Selch isn't nearly as tall as either of them despite being a blood relation. Which makes me think there was some of that Allagan/Garlean/Ancient playing with genetics and form at work. Make them bigger, more durable, stronger, more intelligent.
It's like Captian America. You want the perfect solider. And a perfect solider for Emet-Selch would also need to be cold, ruthless, manipulative.
There was a post I saw a while again about Mecha Pilots. And OP pondered on the idea of physcially having your brain and body contiditoned to love battle. To love destruction and killing and fighting.
Do you see where I am going with this?
You want someone bloodthirsty enough to cause a Calamity for you, you need them to feel nothing for their fellow man. (Insects all of them. Disappointing. Found Wanting.) You need them to find such overwhelming joy in battle that no other earthely pleasure can compare to it. (Brilliant. Blinding. Trandsenant Moment.)
No attatchments. No emotions, Just violence. I offer to you dear readers, that Emet-Selch carefully modified Zenos' litterally brain chemistry. Making him predisposed to a lack of empathy and his brain releasing those pesky joyous chemicals during battle. Inflicitng and feeling pain. I offer the theory that Zenos has literally been built for combat. If you cut him open, his bones and muscles and organs would be so alienly perfect. Denser, perfectly optimised. Exceedingly perfect. His brain remapped for pattern recognistion and quick skill building, Easy to train in the art of slaughter and tactics. Unable to forge the emotional connections that would only serve to hinder him. (To isolate him from family).
What evidence to I have? Outside of Emet-Selch's known history of building Empires? Easy. I already know he's done this kind of thing before.
Vauthry. The baby Emet-Selch mutated into half a Lightwarden. Able to command the Sin Eaters and ensured would be raised into a tyranically, childish, king. To keep the First from Uniting. To ensure the Eighth Umbral Calamity would continue along it's march to completion.
Why wouldn't Emet-Selch have done as much to Zenos too?

why are so many of the oak family members all kinds of levels of bizarre
who or what is grand oak? an ancient techno wizard ancestor who immortalized himself by uploading his big brain inside a computer? what makes him the grandest of all? we may never know, this is a character that just exists that tpc will not elaborate on further.
agatha (greens grandma because i say so) has fully embraced the bog witch aesthetique to the point where daisy and greens visits to her house are the "why dont you like sleeping at grandmas house" meme cranked up to the highest level. the moving dolls and paintings of gigantamax gengar sending people and pokemon to Pokemon Hell looming over toddler aged green make him just slightly uncomfortable. and yet daisy seems unfazed, she thinks the house is quite cozy.
im not even sure if daisy is just some woman either. shes said to be able to tame ANY pokemon. could she easily tame a furious god with just one offering of tea and biscuits and a bit of mindfulness exercise?
anyway i think they should keep introducing more and more weird as hell oak family members itd be funny

Wait so your Togepi and Sean's Abra, that means when your fully evolved you cover his dark weakness and he covers your poison weakness so you guys just need a pokemon that covers your steel weakness and Sean's bug weakness - you're not looking for a panda bear you need a fire type pokemon
Wait that is the CUTEST way to go about this - the first guy was a Gengar guy- so thats why that didnt work The seconds favorite were Munchlax and Lucario- so that could have worked coverage wise- snorlax has some sexy ground moves and we both take out its only weakness- A pure fire type could be dangerous because neither of us have any good Ground/Water/Rock coverage (besides ancient power on the Togepi line but... even with serene grace that seems like a wild chance) ((wait.. I also get water pulse..))

StS x Pokemon AU brainstorming stuff - Electric bogaloo
Continuing from here!
Today I mainly cooked some teams! @doodlingwren !
Mu
mostly a recap of what I said in the original post + some other stuff I've thought while working on these
1st battle
Swablu is used as messenger to carry mail between Mu and Alde
Re-match
Dragonair is Mu's ace;
Roaring Moon = Probably a creature that Mu's tribe had many tales surrounding its existence (or something that resembled it). Which led Mu into capturing this Paradox pokemon.
Aldebaran
1st battle
Cute and small pokemon mostly consisting his team? Yes. Probably took them in from his time working at the Day care center.
Re-match
Swamper may have originally been his starter pokemon, but his current ace is Rhydon;
Saga
Only Champion/final battle
Saga's team being specifically made to take down Aiolos, something he has been working on since his humiliating defeat? Check that, yes;
I wanted Saga's team to be mostly water surface level creatures, in order to really show the difference between his and Kanon's teams.
Deathmask
1st match
PC probably would come across many Murkrows spread across the city. Although, not relevant to the battle. It would be left implied that DM's Murkrow is the leader of this whole murder of bird pokemon;
Way too overleveled Crawdaunt for the battle.
Re-match
Fun fact: When I FIRST thought of this AU, I had originally thought of DM's ace to be Spiritomb rather than Murkrow. BUT ultimately, I'm sticking with the bird as I feel like there are some fun things that can be done with it;
DM's Drapion is meant to be a match with Dite's Skuntank;
Characters with whips = most likely treat their pokemon really bad. Hydreigon with Frustration.
Aiolia
1st match
As the 5th gym leader, I feel like Aiolia's team is meant to teach/show trainers how to come up with combos between their pokemons. If Volkner can have an Octillery in his team then Aiolia is allowed to have a big bird.
Re-match
Electabuzz is his ace! It's meant to match alongside with Aiolos' Magmortar.
Shaka
1st match
Re-match
I've cycled between Hatterene and Starmie as Shaka's aces in the past, settled for Alakazam in the end;
Guilty as charged Shaka to follow Saga's plans = Malamar;
I feel like some NPCs could have shiny pokemon on their teams. Shaka being amongst the most important NPCs with one on their team.
Dohko
1st match
Re-match
Old man Dohko gets ancient pokemon. Insert here the dinosaurs joke-
Milo
1st match
Re-match
Volcarona is his ace, it's meant to match with Camus' Frosmoth;
Shame that the only scropion pokemon we have, loses its bug type upon evolution. So, I guess he can get an arachnid as the closest best option-
E4 members
Aiolos
Hurr hurr Aiolos = popular = Charizard;
Magmortar is meant to be a match with Aiolia's Electabuzz;
I know it would tempting to toss in here Rapídash-- BUT given his position, I felt like that would be a little too underwhelming pokemon for him to have. Probably owns one during the story mode;
Shura
Shura is another notable NPC with a shiny pokemon in his team, and it's none other than his ace pokemon;
I know it was very tempting to slapping him with Aegislash. BUUUT lore reasons suggest that Aegislash is really meant for characters that fill the role of leadership. Which is something Shura lacks;
Edit 1: I meant to give him a Kingambit all along, BUT my brain forgot about it in the day. Got reminded of it by @ectogusher
Camus
Despite the Frosmoth match with Milo's Volcarona. Camus' ace would be Froslass;
Probably the first E4 member PC will hear about through rival Hyoga. I'm sure there would be a connection between them, I just haven't thought that far yet.
Aphrodite
Aphrodite's ace is Roserade;
Aphrodite's Skuntank is meant to be a match with DM's Drapion;
5 out of these pokemon are used in the pokemon contests Master rank competitions by Aphrodite.
Roserade = Beauty Glimmora = Clever Skuntank = Tough Gengar = Cute Nidoking = Cool
Bonus:
Here's
Kanon's team
Deep sea or open waters creatures = Kanon's team. With Kingdra as his ace pokemon;
I broke my own rules here, bc I'm not really a fan of giving NPCs Legendary/Mythical pokemon. BUT Urshifu appears to be quite different from the other legendary creatures. So, for story reasons, Kanon gets his hands in a powerful pokemon (likely confrontation against Hades in the story wink wonk).

My legends Arceus OC!
I've almost beaten legends Arceus (Volo fight gave me so many headaches but I've done that now) and I wanted to introduce my legends Arceus OC: Otto!
And his team:
Otto lore and personality time: Otto was alive during the same time period of legends Arceus and lived in an ancient kitkikami (which I hc is in Unova). But Arceus took him to Hisui to fix the space-time rift, because Mesprit recommended Otto. As of all the humans at the time Mesprit found Otto to be the purest of heart. Otto tends to be very kind and carefree as well as being extremely emotive and emotional (and that's why he has a Sylveon on his team, it's also his partner Pokémon). He is also the ancestor of Connor and Connie (and is rolling in his grave during the mochi desires au cause Otto watches over his descendants as a spirit). Just like I ship Connor with Nemona (in the regular universe not mochi desires) and Connie with Mela, I ship Otto with Irida as I think their dynamic would be cute but also funny. His Gengar, PuffBall, is still around to the present day due to being a ghost type and possessed an abandoned toy leading it to become Connor's Banette. So Gengar still watches over his trainer's family (though not as well as, in the mochi desires au) also Captain Cyllene is his mother figure. Let me know thy thoughts please.
