HOLIDAY ADVENT CALENDAR !

NOTE: if you require more information for activities such as Kwanzaa and Hanukkah, we strongly advise & encourage taking time to put in the research through simple google searches, as there are plenty of educational websites available. we ask that you refrain from heavily involving the plot of the group when participating in these activities, for the sake of respect. our other activities, however, are open to anything !! it is most likely our next plot drop will not be until mid-late january, so we as admins can have the holiday season to relax. there should be plenty to keep everyone busy & engaged, in the meanwhile. if you have suggestions, we are open to them in our discord server channel corresponding to such. these are meant to inspire you for starter ideas, or plots with others !!

"we have an amazing turn out here on the first day of PRIDE MONTH this june, josseline. everyone arrived bright and early to set up their booths for the annual PRIDE MONTH ART CRAWL. i'll be doing a walk-through here while we chat, & i'm already seeing so many amazing canvases & watercolors, hand-made bracelets, colorful stuffed animals, buttons, berets. you name it, they've got it ! for the next week, you can come down here & celebrate, & we'll be closing out anchorage's festival with our beloved pride parade on SUNDAY, JUNE 9TH at high noon !

at the moment, it looks like we'll have six different floats that were put together by several pillars in our community : big bad wolf demolition company, blood for beauty cosmetics, the boom boom room live grooves, rabbit creek sled racing, the elephant's trunk car wash & buttermilk sky pie diner !!

now, if you're looking to participate in other ways, i'm hearing we need a few extra sets of hands up here to help sell off some of these goodies. if you get hungry while you're socializing & enjoying yourselves, PEPPY'S PIZZERIA is offering personal pizzas for only three bucks a pop for everyone who shows their pride & TOP POT DONUTS is handing out free donuts all week, only from the hours of twelve to four PM.

"an interesting story for you today, folks, you're gonna wanna tune in & turn up your radios for this one ... strange, flying objects have been spotted in the skies over anchorage these past few nights, but these aren't UFOs, josseline, they're winged creatures !

i haven't gotten close enough to look at some of them myself, but they've been reported out by rabbit creek & gothland sepulture if you want to try your luck at seeing one. i wouldn't get too close to these things. some of our witnesses are saying they've got sharp teeth & look an awful lot like a bat & a monkey. must be our local bloodsucking troublemakers, the local biker gang, right ?? get this ...

as we spoke about earlier this week, if you remember, veronica bridgers was found alive. now that they're in recovery, they've spoken to local law enforcement & claim that this creature isn't human, & watched as it carried off adisorn tayen into pinnella pass ... so far, we think this may well be a delusion brought on by dehydration.

it's certainly stirred up the appetite of residents, though. we've got some campers out by the creek tonight, just up the fork from crow creek, where tourist willow amelia cho-iverson was found last summer. all we can ask is that everyone stays safe out there !! that's all for now, josseline, let's hear what the weather has in store for us this evening."

at haunting hour that evening, campers eliana moschetti & emmeline hall were preparing to go to sleep in their tent when they heard a horrible noise outside. as they peered out into the night, they saw a strange & inhuman creature dragging a yak from prancer's ranch into the woods ... ever since veronica bridgers was recovered from missing status, a few residents of anchorage ( mingxia ruan, nadine castellanos & rika hoshino ) have been having horrific nightmares about being trapped within four concrete walls with this fanged creature on the opposite side of the room. its glowing red eyes pierce into their soul as it crawls across the floor, the smell of burning flesh pummels their nostrils. they look down to discover they have been impaled by carrot hands before they wake up. WAS IT REAL ?

"it may be a cloudy day here in anchorage this MAY 1ST, but residents are here to brighten up the foul weather. that's right, josseline, we are seeing them line up by the dozens to get their tickets at SWEET CHEEKS CABARET for a fashion show hosted by old navy.

if you've heard the recent buzz, old navy has graciously teamed up with the tayen family & a large portion of the proceeds will be going to support adisorn tayen's family after they went missing on FEBRUARY 28TH. for every ticket purchased, there is an all-you-can-eat buffet hosted by the local food trucks & a gift card to be raffled off at the end of the night !

local residents have joined together to help organize the event. friends ( jaye sosa ) will be collecting donations from those who want to put more toward helping the missing person's family, & the single carrot theatre & coyote hair salon have provided their makeup artist department & cosmetologists. outfits are being showcased by up-&-coming designers of the sorceress dress !!

i tell you, josseline, it's the closest we've seen the community since that unfortunate new year's eve party."

"what an unbelievable morning to start off our MONDAY ON FEBRUARY THE 5TH, as a car pileup was caused by a herd of moose on fifth & elm street. when a few of the moose were spooked by wildlife rangers, they rampaged through anchorage & we're currently receiving reports that minor injuries were sustained from vehicular damages as they moose jostled cars & were pinned in until the herd moved along ( valerie graves-seong, leonardo amoretto, & saylor strangelove ) !

residents, we're advising you to be on the lookout for stray polar bears & caribou potentially making their way through neighborhoods. wildlife control is handling the situation to the best of their ability & suspects the disturbance was caused by blockading off part of PINNELLA PASS as part of an investigation into the breaking developments in the cho-iverson case.

you're advised to stay indoors if you can & if you do encounter aggressive wildlife, don't make any sudden movements ! disoriented wildlife may intrude on local businesses & patios.

EVENT 02:  TREE DECORATING AUCTION & CHARITY BANQUET.

this marks our second general event within the group that is not a plot drop, but could hold bearing on the future of the group & its overall plot based on muse interactions & anything that unfurls of the event itself. our image is credited to boem travel photography.

all writers within the group are welcome to message us here at the main should they ever have an idea for a character event they would like to organize ( with single or multiple muses within the group or in pairing with another writer, etc ) with our coordination & collection of details.

INFORMATION FOR TAG LURKERS / PROSPECTIVE MEMBERS :

we'd love to have muses for the event to be applied for like the town committee like the mayor, a school superintendent, head librarian, & more. feel free to inquire if you have an idea that you'd like to apply for.

GATHER 'ROUND FOR SOME YULETIDE CAROL — a fake fireplace is burning bright & emitting heat throughout the Boom Boom Room Live Grooves, who have agreed to host this year's charity banquet. the proceeds this year will be donated to the local homeless shelters to help supply food & blankets to the needy this winter season, as well as missed luxuries such as makeup products & skincare. those who have gathered have their own spritz of holiday cheer from a merchandise booth which will also see all profits donated — reindeer antlers, santa hats, and bright red rudolph noses. while waiting for the auction to begin, guests are offered non-alcoholic beverages, holiday punch & a free open bar. delectable finger foods are being served on a buffet, including pigs in a blanket, freshly-tossed caesar salad, baked yams, honey butter croissants, pumpkin tarts, snickerdoodle cookies, & more. the DJ has been replaced for this evening alone by local jazz band, Twenty Smooching Iced Pigeons, & swing + jump blues band, Banana Metal. they're grooving out to holiday tunes like Run Rudolph Run & Jingle Bell Rock & remixes of George Michael favorites, among others, while some guests hit the dance floor !! the best dancers will win free desserts from Buttermilk Sky Pie Diner. the elves — a team of nine dogs playing dress-up — help to bring each tree to auction !! this is an ascending-bit auction where participants place their bids by voicing their monetary amount. the auction will begin at 7PM. the following are up for sale : TREE NO. 1 — it's a purrfect season for a black cat christmas. no, literally. the humane society has dreamed up the gothic community's first love: a fake tree that is, from head to toe, made of Papier-mâché black cats. the eyes are strings of white bulbs, so be sure not to put it somewhere that it might blind your neighbors !! the tree topper is an orange tabby surrounded by rainbow christmas lights with a ribbon that reads ADOPT DON'T SHOP. TREE NO. 2 — a tree that is rather pathetically decorated, in the cutesy kind of way that makes you want to take it home IMMEDIATELY. a charlie brown christmas crafted by the local eye center. at its center is a huge pair of googly eyes glued down to the cedar, as well as parts from a dismantled mr. potato head hung all around in decorative cheer. mrs. potato head is the star that sits atop the tree. TREE NO. 3 — an imported tree from one of the freight harbor companies in anchorage is an absolutely dashing piece up for auction. each branch is lovingly hung with sylvanian family ( calico critters ) complete with each to their own costumes, customarily encompassing the holiday spirit. it is a tree sprayed to a pastel pink color, and a heart for the topper. TREE NO. 4 — the new trend, an upside down christmas tree ! it otherwise has all the makings that anyone could ask of a tree, the classic red ornaments dangling from every branch, the usual fixings of lights, bells and bobs. the only difference is the extra support she needs to stay afloat ! decorated & gifted by the Big Bad Wolf Demolition Company, wishing you a merry christmas & to turn that frown upside down !

SECRET SANTA GIFT EXCHANGE — december 15th through december 30th.

the OOC submission form will close the end of today, december 14th. gift recipients will be distributed after being randomly chosen by our team generator on december 15th, & writers will have until december 30th to submit their gifts. if you absolutely cannot submit them on time, we will have a backup anonymous gift-giver, but we expect you to hold up your end & not leave your gift partners in the cold ! gifts will be distributed by us, the admin team, on december 31st.

a celebration of culture through the easiest way to the heart : homecooked meals. not only will hearty meals of shrimp & sausage gumbo, rice & peas, sweet potato gratin, garlic chicken, & rum glazed coconut bread pudding be served at the local soup kitchen & hopeful light art shack, there will be a potluck held in the boom boom room mid-day. guests are welcome to bring their own dishes to serve at the buffet in appreciation of the holiday.

14th ; a dreidel cake walk game will be hosted on the strip outside of maiden alley cinema. how the game works : if you land on nun at the end of the song, you'll be removed from the game, like musical chairs. landing on shin, you may continue for another turn. hei will automatically reward the participant(s) with a participatory prize of a batch of cookies from puggy's cakes. once it is down to two participants, they'll each have a chance for the gimmel square. the person to reach the square at the end of the game will be rewarded with a month's worth of free coffee & pastries from the creamery. this is also our OOC deadline for submitted the secret santa gift exchange forms. 15th ; a town-wide decorating contest, judged by the town committee, a selected council, & the tourist board. they will drive through the local neighborhoods & assess the participating homes, inclusive of all abodes whether home, trailer, or otherwise. feel free to have your muses as participants within the contest, as well as posting their decorated abodes under anchortask05 if you wish. it will be judged by NPCs, so please do not dictate whether your muse wins or loses. 16th ; discounted entry to the three barons renaissance faire for today only ! half off, with the mandatory requirement that to receive the discount, you must dress as a favored character or creature from Narnia. kids will be able to enter for free, regardless of costuming, to enjoy the wonders of their fantasy land. 17th ; DIY pop-up shoppe in rabbit creek for arts & crafts ; snowflake decorating, clay ornaments, gingerbread houses. open to volunteer muses for bakers and artists with experience in clay-making to serve as mentors. a kid-friendly workshop for all ages !! 18th ; opening night for Miracle on 34th Street that will be running throughout the season at the single carrot theatre. 19th ; a snowball fight for vouchers from local vendors & small business shoppes around town. if you intend to create a thread for this advent, we are putting a fun spin on it : you must use this random roll generator to determine if your muse is successful or fails to land a hit on their opponent. the default on the generator should be good enough. three strikes, you're out ! 20th ; alcoholic eggnog mixer bar crawl, beginning at the milk bar. 21st ; reindeer turtle racing to be hosted at the anchorage zoo. the bettors for the winning turtle will receive a 2024 year-round pass with the carnival of time. the money will be donated to toys for tots. 22nd ; have your muses participate in a partner ice skating competition !! if you choose to participate a muse in this & answer to our server call, we'll randomly pair your muse up with a partner ! the competition will be judged by the anchorage town committee, as before, so please do not dictate if your muse wins or loses. 23rd ; charity banquet event where pre-decorated trees have been submitted for auction & the profits will be donated to the local homeless shelter to purchase supplies for the needy in the winter season. more information on this & ability to partake in this advent will drop on december 20th. 24th ; northern lights watch, complete with bonfire & free hot chocolate & hot dogs ( inclusive of vegan & vegetarian options ) for all attendees. 25th ; a christmas parade will begin at rabbit creek & head through anchorage. santa clause will do a photoshoot at the end of the parade with any children, & if they give him their christmas list, they might come home to a present under their tree ! 26th ; kwanzaa potluck, as described above.

THE HAUNT OF THE YEAR is being held at a mansion in the Winterwood Estates which has been rented for the occasion and carefully decorated to resemble an old haunted house. Fake spiderwebs are strewn across the great staircase in the centre of the lobby and the air is filled with eerie mist from hidden fog machines. Only a few of the rooms have been available to guests. All other rooms are STRICTLY off limits. THE PARLOUR is the main event, hosting the costume party and other entertainment with a large skeleton prop as its centerpiece. Soon, guests will be able to volunteer themselves as entrants for the contest and the winner will be decided by anonymous audience vote. It seems like they plan on setting up a DJ after that, turning the place into a dancefloor. There’s a bar in the back of the room and it’s serving drinks all night; the usual options are all available but the highlight is certainly the collection of themed cocktails and mocktails, ranging from spooky twists on well-known cocktails. While the decorations in the parlour are somewhat goofy, with electric jack o��lanterns scattered all over and string lights shaped light little ghosts hanging from the awnings, the dining room is a lot more haunting. In its centre sit a row of great oak tables with electric candelabras stood at each quarter of the spread. Please note that the cobweb-covered multi-tier cake in the centre of the table is made of foam and silicone. It is NOT edible! Two local bakeries, Top Pot Doughnuts and Puggy’s Cakes, have been commissioned to provide themed sweets and baked goods for the event and there’s a lot to choose from; spider cupcakes, ghostly meringues and even jack o’lantern doughnuts with a pumpkin custard ( creme pat ) filling! Standard party/finger food is also on offer for any guests who start to feel peckish but need a break from the sugar. The living room is decorated too but it’s a subtler affair. This room has been marked as a quiet space for anybody who’s tired of partying. The weirdest space of them all might be the backyard. The vast open-air space is populated with huge, looming statues of ghouls and monsters, and there’s a cauldron filled with soup in the middle of it. This, and the spiced hot chocolate with whipped cream and black sprinkles being served up by the kitchen, are intended to help keep guests warm on a cold Alaskan night. There’s a bunch of plastic skeletons playing poker in the gazebo. Don’t disturb them.

INFORMATION FOR TAG LURKERS / PROSPECTIVE MEMBERS :

our goal is to involve new people in the group as much as possible. because of the nature of this plot drop, every two new writers can be added in. there are many open & wanted spaces, especially for roles.

THE INFORMATION OF THE PLOT DROP ARE AS FOLLOWS :

the first open starter will be our icebreaker. after that, please abide the starter rule !

we ask you refrain from controlling the NPCs themselves other than what is established. 

generally, we have written the plot drop & its injuries / transpirations with what we’ve come to know about the muse(s) who were randomly selected in mind & their previous threads. however, if we ever dictate an action that you deem ill-fitting of your muse, you can ignore it entirely or ask for an amendment you deem most fitting. we want this to be fun & what we write is only meant to be the starting point.

our selection was entirely random for minor injuries. we always use a random team generator to determine who will receive injuries ( unless requested ) or starter lottery & this was our practice for the search party participants. we have over seventy muses, and the first ten that were on the team generator were selected. 

major injuries & death were hand-selected on the basis of the butterfly effect this time, per our notes about the plot progressions, individual & group-centric, of muses. we keep track of these as much as we can & take note of anything significant that could be utilized.

there’s many possibilities for starters, as those not grouped together can be reacting to these events. you can continue posting unrelated exclusives, but we ask that open starters at this time pertain only to the plot drop.

PLEASE BE SURE to label your open starters as during the party or after 11:30PM so there will be no confusion.

OOC THIS EVENT WILL LAST : until november 11th, but you may continue unrelated threads & etc. after this date, please refrain from more starters pertaining to the plot drop — but of course the plot drop itself will hold affect on all muses exploring the aftermath & moving forward. a follow-up will be posted within a week or two once the plot drop has ended OOC.

THE IN-GAME DATE IS : october 31st, 2023, the party will begin at 8PM alaskan daylight time & the injuries / aftermath transpires after 11:30PM alaskan daylight time so make sure to date your opens & exclusively appropriately. in-game, costume contest voting will be held at 11PM.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION : three writers have had muses selected for death or major injury & were discussed between writers & admins. they were given the opportunity to play out the transpirations on the dash, & thus, we left it on a cliffhanger to be followed up later, but please be sure to tag them appropriately.

for fairness, any one muse who has been selected at random three times for a plot drop in a row will sit out the next random selection. there are no triple crown muses at this time.

the chill in the air quenched by the warmth of other human beings & delighted social interactions as costumes mingled, the catering provided by the local small businesses dispensing business cards to those satisfied with their service. they enjoy their first couple hours of inebriation & jovial niceties, eager for the contest to reveal the mirror, mirror on the wall of who is the BEST OF THEM ALL !! JUST AS THE FIRST PLACE WINNER IS ABOUT TO BE ANNOUNCED — guests mingling in the backyard were in for a surprise as the deck of cards from the hands of the skeletons playing in the gazebo FLEW at high speed as the back doors of the mansion were ripped apart at the hinges from its force — evren fawn & nikolai xiang were nearest to the table & in its wake, they sustained a myriad of papercuts across exposed parts of their body. the cauldron of boiling hot soup tips over with the force of the wind & the contents inside spill out onto addison graves-seong & murphy st. clair. red welts begin to bubble up on their skin in what would later be diagnosed as second degree burns ... THE LIGHTS GO OUT IN THE DINING HALL, unbeknownst to the guests elsewhere in the manor ... the abrupt shut-down of electricity causes a voltage overload in the candelabras and ELECTROCUTES lynx park. the shock causes them to fall forward into multi-tier cake, & it topples over. a shrieking ophelia finch is subsequently a victim as a sizable piece of the foam & silicone creation falls into her mouth as she begins to choke. the multi-tier cake splinters the center of the table & the zombie-themed pastries are sent flying, pummeling anka mae-nava'i & jaye sosa with enough ferocity to break anka's nose. THE FOYER, as it goes dim : hunter davis is holding the door for josette leighton to leave. as the door shuts, a WHIRRING of machinated tools sounds from the opposite side. OUT OF SIGHT, OUT OF MIND DEEPER IN THE MANSION, the quiet produced by the thick, reinforced walls, ara kwon follows at zeliha turan's heels after they left the parlour in search of a guest room to make a phone call. the hand of the mercenary reaches out for them, the pair ignorant of an fainted & clammy annaki pallas-dexicos next door of the guest room ... IN THE PARLOUR where voting for the contest was being held & most of the guests mingle, a masked figure resembling a ventriloquist's doll appears to be standing atop the grand skeleton in the center of the room after the doors burst open. a stroke of lightning illuminates a painting above the head of the doll, apparent of someone whose long hair has been coated in fresh blood with a knife struck through the middle. the figure lets out an almost mechanical cackling, before it demands, "GIVE ME THE FAIREST ONE & THE SEVEN OF SWORDS, OR MORE WILL DIE," wielding a sword from the sheath of a cane above its head atop the massive skeleton. the uproar of commotion would reach its crescendo with a loud BANG. LATER, law enforcement officials found tomo half-frozen, a few hundred yards away from the mansion down the walkway. he was taken to the hospital for treatment of hypothermia, but he was unable to describe for them what had transpired ... to be continued .

EVENT 01: AN ART EXHIBITON.

Local artist Atticus Villanelle has prepared an exhibition dubbed Sapere Aude split into two sects to be displayed at the Hanging Arts Gallery and its adjacent companion, Frankenstein's House of Wax next door. Certain sections of both establishments have been roped off for the event. The first section of the exhibition is a contemporary display of watercolor and photography pieces unfurling a story chronologically emulating the season of spring as it ruffles its feathers and reaches out from beneath the permafrost. The contemporary and thought-provoking watercolors of Mother Nature nurturing its vessels feature foxes sniffing from buttercups, chipmunks invocating aid to crack open nuts, and deer stamping through the snow for the sprigs of fresh plants. The photography depicts spring around various areas of the world: cherry trees bloom and their blossoms falling upon the Nikko Kaido Route, a cat bathing itself in the sunlight soaking through an open window in Mont-Saint Michel, a pair of snow cubs wrestling on the slopes of the Himalayas overlooking Nepal and more. The second section in the House of Wax include pottery pieces hand-crafted from fire clay and glazed and waxen figures meticulously carved in the likeness of the macabre facets of the artist's imagination and manifestations. Examples of the latter could be observed from here and here of the presumptive waxen figures! The litany that has been set up in the wax museum alludes to the loneliness of winter and the despairing of the winter of darkness that tends to envelop Anchorage's latter seasons, as well as the depravity of humankind. The event will include live violin players & servers will come around carrying platters of finger foods: charcuterie boards, petit fours, and choices between wine and non-alcoholic beverages.

I am not much of a baker whatsoever. In here you can find pierniczki, a Polish gingerbread cookie, and Paçzki, something like what you would call a jelly donut. I know way too little about country music and couldn't bring myself to sacrifice my ears for it... but in the meantime, I found this series to be relatively engaging and perhaps an investigator such as yourself enjoys solving fake mysteries in his free time to keep his mind sharp. Do let me know what you think of it — unfortunately, drama is my strong suit as an actor when it comes to good reads or perhaps live comedy, and I've got a knack for historical fiction and satire more than one might think, but I didn't think that would liken to your taste buds.

There is a white box carefully topped by a golden ribbon, upon opening it, one would find the adorable slippers inside on top of a bed of peony petals (perhaps a clue of the sender). Delivered with the note were bouquets of flowers; tulips, of different colors and presented in either paper or boxes; counting it would be around seven groups of flowers. On a corner rested an envelope that contained a handwritten letter and one could almost assure it was written with a fountain pen. The curls and typographic decorations noted of someone who had dedicated a good time to perfecting the art of writing. It said as follows:

I hope this holiday season comes with blessings and good times for you. May next year be blossoming with wonderful surprises and warm sunlight wherever the wind might take you.

SNOWMAN BUILDING CONTEST IN-CHARACTER VOTING !

our snowman building contest is now taking votes !! winners will be announced on December 23rd, unless everyone within the group casts their votes before then ! please follow the link down below but remember a few key rules :

THE SNOWBOYS :

#1 — He builds a classic looking snowman that has two blended snowballs on either side of its head (creating ears). There's two stones for eyes, a red lid for a nose and 3 small sticks on either side for whiskers. He also wrapped his beige plaid scarf around its neck.. His daughter made him build a snowcat for the contest!!

#2 — Upside down snowman. The smallest ball is on the bottom, then gets slightly larger with the middle and top one. Two branches are propped against the ground to make him look as if he is performing a headstand, and another two protruding from the top ball as his legs. His eyes are made of the usual coal, as his smile, with a carrot nose and scarf around his neck. 

#3 — a snowman built with meticulously created proportions, not entirely perfect but not entirely with blatant imperfections. there are round ears on the top of its head and a muzzle created out of corn syrup that appears like a shade of chocolate, chiseled circles of coal for the eyes, and crafted four paws so that the snow-bear is sitting on its haunches. the most defining feature is the bright red woolen sweater that was pulled on to the largest ball of snow forming the torso before the head was mounted on, and zipped up to create poohbear. a tiny honeybee is sitting on the top of his head.

#4 — this snowman would probably be disqualified if the contestant herself wasn't standing guard over said snowman and demanding a fair vote. it's not cute. in fact, it's the opposite. it makes the little children cry. it's a haphazard concoction of three sections identifiable to the classic form but heavily doused with crimson corn syrup, spouting predominantly from a gaping mouth where charcoal has been filed down to points resembling jagged teeth. a stick arm is holding aloft a pair of pants meant for a kid  ( where did she get them from? )  implying that this monstrosity eats children. still, there's a carrot nose and additional coal eyes. the only semblance to the festivities it holds is the santa hat sitting ajar the head. if someone is brave enough to actually ask the inspiration behind the contest entry, they would look at them as if it's obvious. "it's krampus."

on December 18th, we are going to ping the discord server with a plot drop call. you should react to it or answer / respond in the chat accordingly to our questions & discussions to gauge what kind of muse involvement will happen within the plot drop.

our plot drop will be revolving around New Year’s Eve / New Year’s ball drop & it is likely that OOC, it will begin around December 28th, in the hopes that all will go to plan. the plot drop will progress the overall plot of the group.
