We technically don’t know the sex of the baby but we’re rooting for a baby girl so I’m speaking it into existence. I’m just happy to have my beautiful growing family. Hearing a knock on the door, I got up and waddled over into the living room with my glass of apple juice. Opening it up, my jaw dropped as the glass slipped out of my hand and shattered on the floor. “Hey, baby girl. I’m home.” He smirked eyeing me with the devious smile that I once perceived to be genuine.

As February comes to a close, we can’t forget of all the people who effortlessly SLAYED! It’s always been a dream of mine to go to NYFW. One day it will happen, but as for now I live vicariously through my fave fashion bloggers. My absolute favorite every year is Ms. Anaya Roderick. For those of you who don’t know her she’s ambitious cool chick from Queens, NY. ( I love how New York girls dress) Her style is so sophisticated, yet hood. Girly, yet chic. She’s one of my fashion inspos and just an inspiration for me, in general cause the girl is hustler, okay and she’s like a sweetheart who don’t take no shit. Lol. We all gotta be like that. Goodbye New York

My summer in New York City has come to an end. This summer was all about adventure and growth. My love for fashion continues to grow every day and being in a city that never stops is so inspiring. On the first day of my Fashion in the Media class, my teacher said that being here is all about your reaction time. Whether it be something that happened walking to the subway or in your personal life, it is all about your reaction time. 

This summer has been all about growth for me because I started to speed up my reaction time. You don’t have time to stop and dwell on things. Instead, you got to keep it moving and make things work. 

My favorite part about being in NYC, is the adventure. There is so much to do. The worst part is being broke. I have gone to Coney Island, the food festival in Brooklyn, and shopping almost everywhere. I have tried a bunch of cool foods, attended the CFDA Awards, was a paid audience member (where I got to see Fantasia), and went to a pop-up shop for Anaya Roderick (NayaVista). The bright side is that you learn to make things work. My favorite events that I attended were FREE!!! 

New York City, it has been great and I will be back!

Driving to my old hangout, I got geeked up once again at me being home. Living in New York cool and all, but the A gone always have my heart. Getting out, I put in the code and walked inside. Breaking it down to me about how they felt about their ladies, I couldn’t help but feel bad myself. I remember when I did the shit I did to my ex, Ivy. Man, she was so hurt, she completely disappeared. No one could find her. And then all of a sudden, she’s back and she’s become this A List model. I was proud of her, but I know she wouldn’t wanna hear it from me, considering I’m married to her sister now. I still feel low down about cheating with her younger sister, but I don’t regret the life I have with my beautiful little boy and girl and my amazing wife.

My 5-Day NYC Diary

  Let me take y’all on a 5 day trip in my shoes through NYC. Hope y’all enjoy!

Day 1, 2 & 3

Denim Trend Report

Denim is a trend that is FOREVER!

 It can be rocked with many styles and colors. In the first three days of my diary, I wanted to dedicate it to the many different ways that denim has been used. I feel that denim is such a universal fabric. I took many shots and I saw many uses of denim, but I had no problem finding denim pieces that really stood out. Everyone owns a pair of jeans and many have denim jackets but the ones that I picked to share were unique. I saw a denim jumpsuit, overalls, dress, long-line jacket, and a long vest. There were 3 different types/ styles of jeans. The denim vest paired with the high-waisted shorts and the denim jacket paired with the denim Coach shoes were dope! 

Street style is my favorite, but in NYC it is even better! 

Day 4

Anaya Roderick Pop-up Shop

Anaya Roderick is a stylist/ entrepreneur from Queens, NY. She started off with an online boutique called Nayavista and uses her Instagram @theanayal8ter as a platform for herself. She has been doing this for a couple of years and today was her first Pop-up Shop. She wanted to start in her city and plans on doing much more in other cities. She has been growing as a stylist and using the clothes that she sells. She is someone that I personally am inspired by. She is super motivated and all about #GirlPower. Support young entrepreneurs and respect their grind!

Day 5

Pride Parade

The LGBT Pride Parade in NYC was on Sunday at noon but lasted all day. This was an all-day block party that took over. This event was huge and especially because same-sex marriage is now legal. This was my first time attending this event and it was a lot of fun. The people of NYC just come out and support and show love! 

The fashion was definitely the highlight for me. Fashion is all about expression and that is exactly what people wanted to do. Some wore little clothing and some wore very flamboyant outfits. In an article by Fashionista (which I attached the link at the bottom) they said, “With topless ladies, tiny pasties, sky high glitter platforms, intricate feather headdresses, and more banana hammocks than you could count, it was street style at its absolute most fabulous; self-expression at its most fearless.” I couldn’t have said it better! If you get a chance to go, GO! It was so much fun.
