NY by Night's first season is legit my favorite. Of course I love season 2, but season 1's last episode is just a rollercoaster of amazing moments. From Fuego side-eyeing Rey when Isaac asked them to be polite in his sire's presence to their whole talk with Vaclav to their discussion about Reyes's shady deal with the Camarilla. Like, it's everything. Man, I miss that coterie SO MUCH.

edinburgh by night update

recap first since it's been over a month since last session:

the ventrue seneschal staged a coup and ousted the toreador prince by framing her for sabbat collusion. he's now prince and backed by a ventrue justicar and her archon, the new seneschal. also a ventrue

the coterie staged a big fight so that we can help from both inside the cam and within the anarchs. mitra (ravnos) and sami (brujah) are playing the role of dutiful cammie loyalist while del (toreador thinblood) and delores (lasombra) help the anarchs

there's a hidden sub-sub-basement in the club mitra owns, and he and sami constructed a sewer entrance so the coterie (and del and tara) can still meet discretely

end of recap!! new session started with the coterie meeting up in the basement of the club to figure out a game plan

first we need an object that belonged to delores' sire so del can hook her up with the 'communicate with kindred sire' ritual. del killed her own sire (twice) so now her line is dead and she can mix her blood with another kindred's to perform the ritual for them

call up our boy beckett to ask him because delores' sire was kind of a big deal and he might know something. he sure does!! they were friends and coterie mates once, and he has a bookmark she loaned him

ritual time! delores learned that her bloodline is able to control a massive abyss monster called the leviathan, and she can use this to help aelsidhe reunite with del. eventually. it's in madrid rn and her sire's trapped at the bottom of the ocean

sami and mitra deal with soooooo much bullshit politic circlejerk stuff at elysium. they see tara!!! she looks so relieved to see them and also so fucking sad. st says it's clear that she misses del but she has to put on her ironclad Tremere Primogen mask so no one else sees. she and the boys pretend not to know each other (no one knows that she and del are together)

sami and mitra are Pretend Boyfriends* (*not very pretend at all) and harkins tries to rub lyons' (mitra's other partner) nose in this. lyons and mitra are already pretending not to be together, and lyons already knows about/is cool with mitra being poly. fuck you harkins

every time someone asks about the coterie breakup sami and mitra are like "yeah well you know delphine, that violent asshole bitch, and delores was always too.....................religious. yeah, we got sick of the catholic shit." this works every time

ventrue justicar rolls up with the staked prince of glasgow (brujah) whose sire was the prince of edinburgh 2 princes before harkins. the brujah primogen of edinburgh, who was besties and possibly lovers with said deceased prince, has a fit and insists on sitting in on the interrogation so the ventrue don't pull some shady shit

mitra and sami are in the room, the justicar leaves, the room fills with shadow and when the lights come back the brujah primogen and prince of glasgow are piles of ash. we're 90% sure this is the new lasombra sheriff's doing. same dude who claims to be delores sire but isn't, and who definitely wants to control the leviathan himself but can't because he isn't of delores' bloodline

Hey you! Do you like LA by Night and NY by Night? Want to branch out into watching more VtM actual plays? There's a few I really enjoy that I'd like to share. They are all 5th edition

Blood on the Grand Strand/Are We Dead Yet? from Huddyvonschland Coterie clans: Ravnos, Tzimisce, Salubri, Tremere, and some more regulars who swap in and out. And then also oops all Thinbloods! The tourist town of Myrtle Beach enjoys a vibrant nightlife. An eclectic Anarch coterie must contend with the Camarilla (and later Sabbat) making moves in their city while the Second Inquisition begins their operation. There's funky cults, a suspicious drug operation, weird Thinblood stuff, and a lot of juicy worldbuilding which sometimes brings in other elements of the World of Darkness. The players are an absolute delight, Huddy's storytelling is fucking delicious, and the table has a ton of chemistry. The atmosphere is moody and it's a very chill time. I consider this my comfort chronicle

Vegas by Night from Mayday Roleplay Coterie clans: Ravnos, 2 Malkavians, 2 Gangrel, Warrior Salubri, Lasombra This show is nuts. It has everything. Vividly gritty ST narration, occult mysteries, a coterie of forcibly Camarilla kindred in way over their head, wacky Vegas hijinks, lifelike and captivating characters, a meat house, Lake Mead being terrifying, so much buck wild combat. A gospel singer Ravnos who sounds like Elvis and the world's horniest Malkavians. Every plan goes haywire. They always pick the solution that will create the most consequences for them. It's super high energy but man it's fun. Caleb has spread such a wide web of plots that all somehow interconnect. It's really impressive seeing it all gradually unveil and all make sense together in the greater scheme of things. His brain is seriously huge

Legacy of Bulls from Adventure Tavern Coterie clans: [Spoiler], Hecata, Brujah, Toreador A Birmingham coterie inherits the grudge of their forebears and has to race against the clock to solve a mystery and prevent any damage. I'm in love with CT lmao he's my favorite representation of that clan I've ever seen. The chronicle has elements of the occult/magic, investigation, and an atmosphere that is often moody and tense with the occasional chaos. I love the drama in this one

ATL by Night from the Facility Productions Coterie clans: Brujah, Tremere, Ventrue, Gangrel. And some more regulars who swap in and out. In later seasons there is a new coterie: Lasombra, Thinblood, Hecata, Tremere, Gangrel, Ravnos After taking heavy losses during the Final Nights, kindred society in Atlanta must rebuild. Many were hastily embraced during those confusing times and the coterie is tasked with bringing those lost childer into the fold. There is a focus on character development and kindred Politics with heavy Second Inquisition involvement. All in all I find it to be very cozy and intimate, it's really relaxing to watch

The Rook and the Rascal: Montreal by Night from ThreeKingsLoot (audio only) Coterie clans: Tremere, Toreador, Nosferatu It's been a while since I listened to this one so I forget a lot but I remember there were werewolves, Pentex, and a lot of over the top violence. And something about a cult leader, I think? But it's also very cozy and has themes of community and friendship. They utilize True Faith in a novel way and the characters and narration are very charming. They don't follow the game mechanics exactly but it makes things way more high stakes and dangerous and interesting. I had a good time listening to this

Fangfest 2024 - Day One - The Fool Khloe Osborne, Ventrue Thinblood, bane of the Fullbloods. She has no idea the greater workings of Atlanta, and no one who knows seems to be keen on telling her. Her and the rest of Stakebait coterie are going to probably make all of their makers rue the day they were ever made. You don't tell them what's going on? Well, guess matters will just need to be taken into their own hands. Khloe is my fool! She has no idea what's happening, she really is just doing what she's being guided to do. The coterie is starting to really catch heat from the consequences of their actions, and the Fullblood higher ups are always mad and blaming them but also neglect to tell them exactly WHAT they're messing up. Fine by them, who needs the Fullbloods anyway???? *sweats nervously* The hands gently holding her arm are her coterie (Christian, Kyle, Ralph) and those covering her eyes are her sire and Anarch (Lena), as well as the Dusk Angel and leader of the Thinblood resistance (Sydney). She's holding a fire bomb that hunters had left in a Thinblood haven, which she used in their scuffle against the Sheriff. It cemented the Thinbloods as a LEGITIMATE problem now for the local Camarilla rather than just nuisances. It's Fangfest day one! So stoked that I've been able to assign tarot to our OCs!! Can't wait to keep going!

what common/uncommon fear do they have?

I guess you could call it anthropophobia, but really it's only for other vampires. Vampthropophobia. She gets serious anxiety being around licks she doesn't trust, and even those she does are on thin ice. Because the fact is, any of them could eat her, at any time, with no warning, and it might not even be their choice. Because of this, she hates being touched, cornered, crowded, or towered over, which can make Anarch gatherings a real gauntlet.

do they have any pet peeves?

When Malkavians, Caitiff or Duskborn (aka 3/4 of her coterie) are stigmatised by the other Anarchs. She doesn't care whether someone has a good reason for it. Equality or nothing -- or what else are we fighting for, exactly??

what are 3 items you can find in their bedroom?

A grimy adaptor board, sockets filled to bursting with plugs for her phone charger, pedestal fan, laptop/tablet, router, and TV / a depression nest made out of loose clothes, towels, and stained sheets piled atop a second-hand floor mattress and peppered with trash / a very sturdy bucket full of cleaning supplies hey that's cheating those are all groups of items!!

what do they notice first in a person?

How tall someone is, whether they look strong enough to overpower her (someone tell Lex [SHE KNOWS] that anyone can learn Potence), and what their eyes do when they see her. After that, it's class signifiers, then anywhere they could be concealing weapons.

on a scale of 1 to 10, how high is their pain tolerance?

She doesn't enjoy pain exactly, but she can't stomach any pleasurable physical sensations without a 1 or 2. Sometimes she'll go looking for the grounding and catharsis of a 4 or 5, though preferably not inflicted by others. When facing enemies it can get to a 6 before she'll even complain, but an 8 would have her on the ground for the rest of the night, and a sustained 7 or higher would make her crack within a couple minutes.

when under pressure, do they go into fight, flight, freeze, or fawn mode?

Typically she will freeze, relying on Cloak of Shadows to keep her safe until the danger passes. If there's no waiting, she'll flee, and try to make an exit for others if necessary. If there's no fleeing, she makes an (unsuccessful) attempt to support combatants. If she's on her own and can neither run or hide, she knows fawn can buy her time.

how would a stranger likely describe them?

Unkempt, dumpy, and shifty-looking. Nerd-adjacent NEET loser. Probably on something.

do they have any hobbies?

Digital painting, ink and pencil sketches (which you can find here), beach bumming, video essays, guerilla stickering, online leftist infighting, and junk food.

Hello! 👋 I hope this doesn’t sound odd, but I saw the really pretty sketch that Synth drew of Sol and Belle, and now I’m curious to know more about them! Are you playing Belle in a current chronicle and do you have a post about her backstory?

Belle is the attack dog of the Baron of Camden, New Jersey. In order to understand her, we gotta start with her sire, Christina Verne.

Christina is a Sabbat Salubri, specifically a Nkulu Zao, who has gone mad due to repeated diablerie. She was designed as a critique of the Quiverful philosophy. She bought into the whole "We have to kill the antedilluvians" but noticed a problem: there are next to no Salubri, so how are they to defeat an antedilluvian? Her solution: mass Embraces in every city she visits, creating warriors for Caine through serial killing.

Belle was one such victim (See the Embrace Zine for more details) and was quickly caught by the Camden Anarchs, one of the three main Anarch factions in the Philly area, and was brought to Baron Wolfgang for a decision. Wolfgang, having made a name for himself in 20th Century Germany fighting Nazis and smuggling people out of the Reich's reach saw a crying jewish woman from a rare, hunted bloodline thrown before him and felt that rare emotion so few vampires feel: compassion. He wiped the memory of those who had seen her, told her to cover her eye, and adopted her as his own Childe, and a Brujah.

She is of course totally loyal to her new dad (she did not like her old homophobic dad so she fulling thinks of Wolfgang as her new father) and works as his enforcer and guard. All this was going great until a summit at the (old, now dead) Prince's fighting ring, where she fought a Camarilla Tzimizce who pulled her hat off during a grapple. There, in the middle of the ring, for all to see: a soul-stealer in Philadelphia!

A few people went after her, but after she ripped the head off a Tremere who tried (her preferred method of killing) threats have been few and far between. After helping out the Bite Club coterie to install Prince Andrasta on the throne, she's somewhat settled down with her new polycule, and is currently in toronto trying to psych herself up to propose to her future wife, Solaire (the canonical LA Fledgling in my wod)

Belle is Philadelphian born and raised, from a mixed faith family in Hartranft. After her mother died and her homophobic father threw her out for being a lesbian, she (being 17) was adopted by her then part-time coworker, Sarah. She has successfully ship of theseused her parents. She speaks English and Yiddish and is working on French!

We had a chaotic session and all the local cold wars are heating up. Multiple factions are attempting to encroach on the Cam's territory due to the sheriff getting yeeted away by the Malkavian boogeyman. The ministry has a methuselah that has infiltrated our coterie, the Sabbat immediately started attacking Camarilla strongholds after Elysium was announced to be moving urgently and the Anarchs are likely going to finally establish multiple barons now. But hey, Amare figured out she might be a bit gay though so things will be okay.

wahhh tyyy for asking about her!! my babygirl my sweet cheese my silly rabbit....im working on a carrd for her rn but dont have everything organized in one place yet; it's all (messily) spread across my #del #delsidhe #dellan and #edinburgh by night tags atm. but the most important things about her concept/story are:

she's a thinblood sired by a toreador antitribu (sire: sabina callister, working under bishop/baali/methuselah petaniqua)

she was sabina's thrall first, ghouled at 16 > sabina forced her to watch while she drained del's sister > del took her own life in retaliation > sabina embraced her to maintain control

del's mortal name was hau tsuga and her bio parents' surname is fujinami. after her embrace she took her late sister (delphine tsuga)'s first name to honor her, and her bio parents' surname to protect any vampiric retaliation from falling on her adoptive parents. she goes by delphine fujinami for most of the chronicle but still considers hau tsuga her "real" name

she's a maeghar! her fae mien is aelsidhe, the dragonwind, keeper of joy. del was embraced before she and aelsidhe chrysalized, and ael should have been destroyed by the embrace. good news: she wasnt! bad news: instead she was imprisoned in the nightmare hell dimension for 7+ years

petaniqua serves the demon foebok, wyrm of fear. theres a prophecy about aelsidhe and foebok; either he'll devour her and purge joy from the world, or she'll defeat him to banish fear

del's bio parents were ghouled and paid off shortly after her birth, tasked with raising petaniqua's sacrificial lamb. when del escaped them petaniqua sent sabina to be her handler instead

del staked and diablerized sabina almost immediately after her embrace. this backfired spectacularly and is generally considered a bad move

there are no other thinbloods in this chronicle so she's never met another like her. generally operates under the assumption that thinbloods will be bloodhunted on sight

her toreador anti beast is LOUD and craves violence in perpetuity. this does help sell her cover story of "im a brujah mind your fuckin' business"

her fang gang coterie consists of bestie mitra harker (ravnos courier), benedetta fiorelli (lasombra nun) and sami dunnett (brujah hacker). she loves her coterie with her whole entire heart and ass

having seen her mortal sister eaten, and her first meal as a kindred having been her sire, del is a blood leech with a mortal prey exclusion. she's also unbondable (merit) and unable to bind others (thinblood)

everyone in the coterie has fed from her at least twice. emergency vitae juice box

she cant use thinblood alchemy with the mortal prey exclusion so she's built like a toreador with celerity and auspex (and later learned blood sorcery)

her main feeding source for the first 2/3 of the chronicle was another kindred who she overpowered and kept hostage in a storage locker. he mistook her for a mortal, courtesy of her perma blush of life, and tried to feed from her. she was faster and has no moral qualms about this

she's got the baby teeth flaw so she has to first make an incision with a blade in order to feed. mostly she uses the lesbian flag print pocket knife mitra gifted her

learned the hard way that sire sabina was protected by a sabbat anti-diablerie ritual and still kicking around both in del's head and in the nightmare dimension as aelsidhe's warden. in exchange for the coterie helping clear her name amidst active bloodhunt, del's then-situationship (lady tara clellan, tremere), helped exorcise sabina for good

mitra has a capuchin famulus named neeps who she treats/spoils like her niece

haaaaaaaated toreador for the longest time. swayed primarily by her friendship with fellow toreador meaghar genevieve orseau, toreador primogen of paris. honorable mention to anarch grafitti artist june and disgraced prince l'dara too

tara was into del from the beginning and del wanted nothing to do with her at first. after soooo so much patience on tara's part + sooooo much cagey aloofness on del's + tara getting blood boiled and nearly dying in del's arms, they finally got together. immediately uhauled and adopted an oriental shorthair named hex

#1 proponent of Fuck 'Em, Kill Your Sires. Or I Will

responsible for the deaths of three (3) of mitra's exes, including his sire

touchstones are her adoptive parents and a butch mechanic who helped her fix up an old motorcycle affectionately referred to as the dyke bike

her convictions are Mortals Arent Expendable, Indulge Curiosity, and Submit To No One

tara's been teaching her blood sorcery, and has also been her primary food source since they got together. del let the guy in the storage locker burn when a nearby building caught fire--easy cleanup for her

favorite weapon is Gun. she has a pistol, a sniper rifle, and a torrid love affair with the custom shotgun theo bell let her borrow that one time

she hangs out at this 24 hour pottery studio all the time and has befriended a gaggle of mortal grandmas she calls the golden girls. they will not stop giving her edibles

in order to reunite + chrysalize with aelsidhe, she had to undergo a ritual via mage (not tremere, proper Awakened mage) to temporarily make her a living mortal again. at the end of it, another painful death

but shes never feared death. her life didnt start until she died, so freedom and death have always been synonymous. many many times petaniqua and her cronies have threatened del's loved ones, and just as many times del has promised/threatened to kill herself again in retaliation. counterspells your ultimatum with another ultimatum

she also amputated her arm that one time petaniqua dominated her into carving her own True Name into it. girl who will always find a route to freedom and defiance at any cost

three (3) different malkavians, including petaniqua herself, have told her she's out of her mind insane

proposed to tara without a ring, on the steps of a recently-detonated elysium, moments before being yanked away by justicar lucinde for interrogation, with "hey if we survive the night we should get married, alright?" and it worked

del's adoptive parents/touchstones, the tsugas, are also changelings. they're aelsidhe's sworn knights and their previous incarnations died protecting her

the first kindred del met after arriving in edinburgh was neville, a self-proclaimed caitiff who's secretly a kiasyd. del works at the bookshop he owns and lives in the basement of the shop with tara. neville's a sort of surrogate grandpa figure to del and has almost been killed like 5 times this chronicle

del and aelsidhe finally reunited / chrysalized / vanquished foebok last session! she's now called delsidhe tsuga

Hey I need to warn you about a fascist blogger who is spreading some serious bullshit here in the vtm fandom on Tumblr. Normally I would say you could just block this loser, but his takes are some of the worst I've ever seen or imagined.

I know there is a lot of wiggle room in world of darkness due to the massive amount of lore produced over the years, but this r4cs0 guy is taking his fascist fantasies to the extreme. First of all, he hates everything other than mummies, because he says mummies are "less whiny" than all the other supernaturals and that every other type of supernatural believes that everything went wrong when we invented indoor plumbing. He explicitly hates all werewolf content, but only because he thinks the writers stole their ideas from Captain Planet and werewolves are therefore "woke!" And he really hates bisexuals, not just in the game, but just in general.

But the end goal of this guy seems to be recruiting people to play a game he plans to run, but he's going to force the players to enact his fascist bullshit. He wants the players to play as mummies, but impersonate a coterie of anarch Kindred. The mummies will secretly team up with the Society of St Leopold to create a program through the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Ottawa to grant a "special dispensation" to bisexual Catholics that agree to send DNA samples to the Vatican Bank in Rome. The SI will use these blood samples with a new technology they developed to determine who in Ottawa is being fed on by vampires, which the mummies will then use to overthrow the Camarilla and seize praxis for themselves.

But the kicker is that the real goal behind all of this is to capture sheriff Qui, who r4cs0 wants to punish for being bisexual. He plans to enact a ritual to banish him to the underworld by burying him upside down and allowing wolves to eat his lower legs, which apparently means you can't run away from wraiths anymore or something. This dude is literally only playing vtm so he can engage in homophobia, transphobia and dendrophobia!
