hi its me, i LOOVEEE the way you've characterised everyone in DK and it makes me wonder how many HCs you have for them all????? because theyre so unique down to the littlest of details, like Formaggio liking Smashmouth and Ghiaccio preffering Warhammer over DnD! i want to hear ur headcannons. share them with the class
hello again !!!! i will share !
I've got... a LOT. so i'll put them under cut!
La Squadra Headcanons!
Tumblr media
Risotto HCs:
Started the hitman team at age 21 in 1994.
- Lived with his Aunt and Uncle growing up because his Catholic parents thought he was a 'bad omen'.
- Started a band with his cousin when they were around ten or eleven, stopped playing instruments after his cousin died.
- Was technically 'kidnapped' by Passione after killing the man who hit his cousin, emotionally manipulated under the guise that the organisation had 'saved' him from being sent to prison. This is one of the reasons he turned traitor.
- Likes writing poetry and short stories; particularly graphic, gory horror stories. When he was younger, he had wanted to be an author. Nowwadays he can't really see a future for himself.
- Keeps one of those diaries where when you input the code a song plays and it opens.
The song he chose is Enter Sandman, by Metallica. It's his favourite because it reminds him of himself, but if anyone asks him his favourite song he'll say something obscure like Creeping Death because he doesn't want to be seen as some basic poser.
- Forced Prosciutto to listen to The Grateful Dead.
- He's normally quite cordial with his workspace; the Hideout and his office are clean and proper, but his bedroom is extremely messy. It's his own space, so he lets it get tatty because he doesn't want to associate it with the stress of work.
- Has a really bad posture because he always has to hunch over to do paperwork.
- He's always quiet, not because he's mysterious and cool but because he was very isolated as a teenager and has ZERO social skills - he's always scared he'll mess up and say something weird, so he's very reserved.
In turn, he's created a sort of 'Boogeyman of Passione' name for himself. He's learnt to embrace his timid nature.
- The bells on his coxcomb are a test of stealth for himself. When you put a bell on a cat, it learns to hunt without ringing it; he's done the same.
On the contrary, though, it's not uncommon to hear jangling inside the hideout as he goes about his business because he doesn't feel the need to conceal himself within the presence of his teammates.
- Had anaemia growing up, was shot with the arrow and obtained Metallica; it cured his anaemia, but then he developed haemochromatosis - which is a result of too much iron building up in the blood over a prolonged period of time.
Since Metallica is his stand, his case of haemochromatosis isn't too severe and the symptoms aren't bad. It doesn't affect his work too much, but he can often become very fatigued and experiences a lot of joint pain.
- He is an artifical stand user (hit by the arrow.)
Prosciutto HCs:
Joined the hitman team at age 19 in 1994.
- Pesci and Prosciutto are half-brothers; they share the same mother but have different fathers. Pesci looks more like their mum while Prosciutto looks more like his father - this caused a rift in their family because Pesci ended up being the favourite child.
- Was raised Catholic; claims to be atheist, but in truth upholds agnostic ideologies that he will sometimes accidentally project onto his teammates.
- Doesn't like smoking, but it's a habit he's gotten stuck into. He doesn't know how to quit.
- Joined La Squadra two years before Pesci, during this time Pesci thought he had died.
- Often uses their late mother as a way of manipulating Pesci: e.g. "What would she think of you behaving like this?" , "She'd be disappointed in you."
He doesn't realise how bad this behaviour is, he thinks he is doing the right thing in trying to mentor Pesci.
- Unlike Risotto, Prosciutto didn't know what he wanted to be while growing up. He was very focused on his classes in school, often earning lots of rewards and prizes but he only did it to try and earn his mothers affections. He never actually liked school.
That being said, his intellect is natural. He has always been very smart without trying.
- He has a gap in his front teeth and he HATES it because everyone tells him it looks cute and he doesn't want to look cute he wants to look scary and cool.
- Doesn't understand why Pesci is so morally upstanding. Why is it so hard for him to kill? Look, Prosciutto just killed twenty people! In one go!
Because of the Grateful Dead, it is very easy for Prosciutto to kill and not face the moral consequences of his actions. His kills are indirect and 'merciful', as he puts it - whereas Pesci has to get physical. He needs to come into direct contact to kill, so he has to deal with the moral turmoil that comes with murder.
- I also like to think he's got really prominent eyebags and forehead wrinkles because of how often he is subjected to the effects of his own stand.
Like, he seems to be able to control how his own body ages and shifts between old and young whenever a situation negates it, nd I don't think it's very good for his skin to be doing that all the time.
Maybe he has an extensive moisturising routine to combat the effects of his stand?
- Cleans messes on instinct; even if it isn't his own, he cleans up after everyone. He knows this is bad because it just gives everyone else a reason to be slobby, but he can't help it - nobody else ever cleans to the degree he likes anyways, so he might as well do it.
- He is an artifical stand user (hit by the arrow.)
Formaggio HCs:
Joined the hitman team at age 23 in 1995.
- Gwess and Formaggio are also half-siblings! Different mothers, and about twenty-years difference between the two of them so Formaggio probably didn't know she existed until a LOT later in life.
ALSO. when i first watched Stone Ocean i kept mishearing Gwess' name as Gwyn, so I headcanon her to be Welsh, which means by default I also headcanon Formaggio to be Welsh !!! But that's a HC i tend to leave out of my fics cuz it's really outlandish.
- If he'd lived until 2012, I like to think he would have tried to break Gwess out of prison. Probably would have failed.
- Got his cat as a gift from his mother when he was a teenager, it's the only thing he has left from his mother and so he tries his hardest to take care of her - even if he is struggling to take care of himself.
Despite this, he still shoves his cat into bottles and jars and things. It's a really cool party trick! Everyone always thinks he's so cool, like some kind of magician!
- Unlike Risotto and Prosciutto, who were both raised Catholic, Formaggio's parents were both atheist. His mother attended Church, but it was mostly an excuse to get away from his father and he never bothered to go with her.
- Has joint pain and muscle soreness from how often he has to shrink himself and then re-grow himself.
- Like's to collect mini-things; like those little baking kits. He thinks they are so cute!
- He is a natural redhead, like in the manga, but dyes his hair grey, like in the anime, so that he doesn't get bullied.
- He is a natural stand user (born with ability.)
Pesci HCs:
Joined the hitman team at age 19 in 1996.
- Pesci would rather be doing ANYTHING else. He never wanted to be a hitman. He doesn't like killing - not because he's all soft and sensitive like people make him out to be, but because he has morals and??? killing people? is wrong?
So why is he a hitman?
Well, I think Pesci has had the WORST life humanely possible. At twelve, his dad died in a boating accident. At sixteen, his brother 'went missing', presumed dead. At seventeen, his mother died. He was so lonely, and isolated, that when he realised his brother was in fact alive, he was willing to do anything to try and give himself purpose.
- Despite joining the team years beforehand, Pesci only had his first kill in 2001. This was because Prosciutto still coddles him as his little brother and he can get away with doing less on hits.
It's kind of manipulative - like, weaponizing faux incompetence, but he doesn't care.
- He wanted to be a fisherman when he grew up, like his father had been; he rarely has time to go fishing since joining the hitman team.
- If he could leave the team, he probably would.
- That being said, I think if he had lived past the events of VA he would have had the potential to become one of the most powerful hitmen on the team - and that is why Prosciutto never gave up on him, despite his supposed 'cowardice'
- His hair matts really easy so he tries to keep it short; he'll spend hours before bed trying to brush knots out of it.
- He is a night-owl, and likes staying up until quite late into the night listening to music or doing some of his other hobbies, like painting or drawing - he is extremely creative!
But because of this, when he does go to sleep, he often ends up sleeping until the late hours of the day. He is always criticised for this by Prosciutto.
- He is an artifical stand user (hit with arrow.)
Melone HCs:
Joined the hitman team at age 18 in 1994.
- Pookie... where do I even start.......
- I think he has mild heterochromia; one of his eyes is a blue-ish green and the other is blue. He used to be bullied for it, which is why he covers it.
Since joining the hitman team and meeting Risotto - who, yk, has funky eyes - he has learnt to like his eyes a bit more.
- Melone wanted to be a doctor or a scientist when he grew up. He loves biology and chemistry, particularly in regards to the creation of human life: reflected in his stand, Babyface.
I like to think that he had toyed with 'creating life' even before he got his stand; as a teenager he would do old fashioned experiments with homunuculuses and other alchemy.
- Since Junior is not connected to his body, he often does not get injured during missions. He is the least muscular and most lithe out of everyone on the Hitman team, however, maintains a semi-athletic built as he maintains a very firm exercise routine - being a Hitman takes a lot of muscle, so he can't get away with not exercising in the same way his teamates do, even if he experiences less threat than them.
- He also has a lot less scars than the rest of them for this very reason.
- His teammates are hot-headed, quick-thinkers; he is not. He is slow, cold and calculated. Since he is almost never in the heat of a battle, he is allowed to sit back and think. He has the time to calculate his next move.
This is his downfall, however; when Giorno's snake finds him in the trainstation he isn't given a chance to think through his next decision. The attack is quick and painful. ☹️.
- Unlike the rest of the team, he didn't know his parents that well. They sold him to Passione when he was very young, so any memory he does have of them has been soured.
- They were likely atheists, though.
- He can be quite manipulative at times, and he knows exactly what he's doing. In fact, he has a chart on Babyface which shows him the traits and weak-points of all his teammates; he knows near everything about them, and can poke and prod in a way that gets him exactly what he wants.
- His outfit squeaks whenever he walks. He's really bad at stealth missions.
- He also has REALLY bad posture (which I think is semi-canon tbh cuz, during that one scene where they are searching Donatella's house he walks into the room and HE LOOKS LIKE A SHRIMP.)
- I also have a transfem hc for Melone, but the last time I shared that with someone they started tweaking and told me it was weird so I mostly keep that to myself now  😭
- If he had lived, I think he would have had a MySpace and Tumblr, I think he'd of liked how you can customise your own blog and how it's your own little space to yap about whatever!
- Has a HORRIBLE sleep schedule. Not because he has insomnia or anything, but just because he always gets distracted on his laptop right before bed and ends up staying up until 4-5am.
Like Pesci, he is more of a night-owl anyways. The two often end up bumping into each other in the middle of the night.
- He is an artifical stand user (hit by arrow.)
Ghiaccio HCs:
Joined the hitman team at age 20 in 1994.
- His brash personality is a result of his bad upbringing. His parents were very abusive, and so he is used to having to bite back at those around him; he is constantly in 'defence mode' and snaps at the people around him often unintentionally.
He feels bad about it, but doesn't know how to stop. It's especially hard to recover from this habit when his teammates are always plucking at his nerves.
- With that in mind; his parents are rich.
Like, how else could he have that convertible??? La Squadra was getting paid PENNIES and then he rolls up to HQ in his shiny new eighty-one-million lira (i did the math for this) car????
- His parents seemed to think buying him nice stuff would win his affections. He got the car for his 18th birthday, and still uses it despite having since cut off his parents.
- He went to a private school growing up and is objectively the most educated on the entire team.
- Because of the way he was raised, he detests authorative figures. He didn't like Risotto when he first joined the team, but has since learnt to respect his stoic leader.
- Reads play-scripts for fun. (im projecting)
- REALLY likes tabletop RPGS, but would rather die than tell ANYONE about his little hobby.
He finds it to be a good distraction, especially after getting mad and blowing up at someone; painting the figures, or reading the rules, or playing the game can be a good way for him to focus on something else and relax.
His favourite is Warhammer, though. He doesn't like D&D, he thinks its for mainstream wannabe nerds. Not him. He's cool. (he's not.)
- He pretends to hate Fallout, but secretly loves it. I've talked abt it on my blog before, but I think when the first game came out in 1997 he was SO mad that RPG games were getting popular - Formaggio got into it and he felt like his interests were getting invaded, so he refused to play the game for like a year until the second Fallout came out in 1998, and he realised it was actually a really good game.
He is probably rolling around in his grave watching how Bethesda is slowly destroying the franchise.
- His family was Catholic, but he is an atheist.
- If he had lived, I like to think he would have DEFINITELY had a Reddit and 4Chan acct, but he wouldn't use it often because it would piss him off how stupid everyone is on there.
- He desperately needs a hug but doesn't know it and refuses to ask anyone for it. He is SO touch starved.
- Unlike Melone, he has a really good sleep schedule but suffers with insomnia. He takes melatonin gummies to go to sleep.
- He has a very good schedule in general; he exercises regularly, eats healthily, showers every day - with special shampoo to retain his curls, and likes to go for at least half an hour walks outside. A routine keeps him stable, he would fall into bad habits if he didn't have complete dictation over his own life.
- Because of this, he can grow extremely irritated when there are disruptions to his routine. Which happens often, since being a Hitman can be quite unpredictable.
- His stand is natural (born with ability.)
Illuso HCs:
Joined the hitman team at age 19 in 1995.
- Knows everything about everyone and WILL use it as blackmail.
- He is EXTREMELY nosy and will stick himself into EVERYONES business. Nobody is safe.
- Can be quite rude at times, but he never actually means it. It's just his way of showing affection. He has quite a sarcastic sense of humour that other people on the team *COUGH* GHIACCO *COUGH* don't get.
- Had to become very independent from a young age. He didn't have a father, only his mother which meant that when she developed a deadly sickness in his teens he was forced to support for the family by himself.
- BUT because of the fact that he was raised by his mother, he respects women! Yay! It's why he's into more 'feminine' stuff, he's never really seen an issue with being girly, and sometimes the others bully him for it but he doesn't care.
- He was probably raised Catholic, but doesn't really care for religion.
- He is a sleepwalker AND a sleep-stand-user (a term I made up), and will routinely freak everyone out by showing up in their mirrors in the middle of the night.
- He is so self-centred, yet blindingly insecure, that he thinks anyone who so-as-much spares him a glance is interested in him. With that in mind, he is oblivious to people who actually show interest in him.
- Illuso didn't know what he wanted to be when he grew up. He was forced into a role of authority so quickly, that he was never actually given a chance to think for himself.
- If he did get given a chance to pick his own career, he would likely stay on the Hitman team. He doesn't have the school-grades to get any job that is actually worthwhile, and he doesn't see a reason to leave his team.
- Refuses to let any of his teammates use two-in-one shampoo. If he sees it, he's throwing it. He once caught Formaggio using three-in-one and almost had a heart attack.
- Like Melone, if he had lived he probably would have owned a MySpace account.
- He is a natural stand user (born with stand)
Sorbet & Gelato HCs:
Joined the hitman team at ages 21 in 1995.
- I don't have a lot for these two, BUT, i could never forget them.
- I like to think they met in secondary-school, (high-school, for the Americans) but they didn't get together for a WHILE.
- This is because they were in totally different social circles. Gelato was quite popular and chatty, he knew a lot of people and was invited to parties like every weekend - yk, classic airheaded blond - whereas Sorbet was a social outcast and didn't have a lot of friends.
- But they are both extremely virile and violent.
- I think Gelato used to get a kick out of hurting other things. It started with animals, but eventually turned to that of people - he likes having control over things, knowing he is more powerful than those around him. He was a rampant bully, and took to hurting those he saw as 'less-than' him.
- Sorbet on the other hand, while he didn't actively go around hurting people for control, was into very grotesque things. He liked those weird, sexual slasher films of the 80's and took extreme interest in blood and gore and the likes.
- BECAUSE OF THIS, when they did eventually find each other, they clicked immediately! I'm not gonna share how I HC them having met, because it's spoilers for DK  🤭 but it's dramatic, it's bloody, and it's romantic!
- A lot of people interpret them both as being money hungry, but I don't think that's the case! In the series, when asked where they are, Ghiaccio suggests they might be "Playing hooky" (i hate that phrase sm), BUT THEN Risotto says "Gelato, maybe, but Sorbet always comes for his cut of the pay."
- Which makes me believe that out of the two of them, Sorbet is the greedy one. I think that Gelato doesn't care about money, and if he had been in charge the two wouldn't have tried to go against the Boss - but he loves Sorbet, and he wanted him to be happy. So when the discussion was first brought up, he had his reservations but trusted that they could pull this off.
THATS ALL. its all i can think of rn... i probably have more somewhere but ong I can't remember :(

Thank u so much!!🥹💖 sorry for crazy wait and for the fact I only write two mercs at a time atm🥺💖
Medic and Sniper With an Anaemic!Reader
Medic💖
Ahhh! His poor baby dove! :( You were anaemic? Is that even a real thing?
Medic had countless sleepless nights, experimenting and working on a ‘cure’ for you. You scolded him for it, as his eyes were always hanging out of his during battle. You couldn’t stay mad at him though. He was so sweet being so concerned for you.
Medic kept tissues and needles and other medical thingies on his person at all times just for you. Your nose bled randomly, so he was always there to help out. He also was a bit dramatic, flailing like a mother dove over you. He desperately tried to keep the blood in you, going to great lengths such as carrying around a bucket of it.
“That’s not how it works, Medic!”
Medic ignored you, rushing over with a bucket of god knew who’s blood.
Sniper💖
Sniper watched over you like a hawk. You were so precious to him. It hurt his heart to see you faint or your nose bleed from your anaemia. You were always tucked into his side whether you liked it or not.
Sniper was clingy. You were one of the only people he actually liked. He grew worried every time you got up from next to him or went to do something. He grabbed your wrist delicately, his brow furrowed as he interrogated you on where you were going. He was mostly likely gonna go with you. He couldn’t risk you getting dizzy or having a nosebleed without him.
When you did get sleepy randomly, Sniper was always there to sweep you off your feet and into his warm, lanky arms. He carried you over to his camper van while you slept on his chest, laying you down on his bed. The Aussie curled up around you protectively, smiling softly as he held you close.

greensick
adjective /ˈɡriːnsɪk/ /ˈɡrinˌsɪk/
in pathology: refers to chlorosis (an iron-deficiency anemia formerly common in adolescent girls that may impart a greenish tint to the skin)
earliest known evidence is from 1605, in a translation by Joshua Sylvester, poet and translator
notes from: Lovesickness and Gender in Early Modern English Literature by Lesel Dawson
One of the aspects of women's lovesickness which has caused the most confusion is its relation to three other female maladies: hysteria, green sickness, and uterine fury. Although many critics assume that lovesickness is a version of one or several of these illnesses, lovesickness, hysteria, green sickness, and uterine fury are understood as separate maladies in the early modern period, with their own unique set of symptoms, stereotypical sufferers, and cultural associations. There is, however, an exception. When a woman's lovesickness develops into full-scale madness (as in the case of Ophelia), her illness is frequently seen to be related to her virginity and menstrual cycle and is thus represented as being similar to uterine disorders.
Green sickness, also known as the white fever, the disease of virgins, and from the 17th century onwards chlorosis, was thought to be an exclusively female malady, which was caused by suppressed menses and seed (also called sperm, or sperma).
Tumblr media
Women afflicted with green sickness are held to exhibit a variety of symptoms: they are pale or badly coloured, have puffy faces and bodies, and suffer from headaches, nausea, impaired respiration, heart palpitations, and a racing pulse. They also have strange appetites, either craving odd and unusual food (a symptom known as pica) or having no appetite whatsoever. The absence of menstruation, however, remained the illness’s defining symptom. Women who were labelled as ‘green sick’ but who subsequently menstruated were rediagnosed as having an ‘obstruction of the spleen’.
Although a variety of remedies could be suggested (including phlebotomy, physical activity, a change of diet and various medicines), sexual intercourse was thought to be the most effective cure as it would open up the veins of the womb, releasing the trapped menses and seed. Young women who were believed to be green sick were thus advised to get married as soon as possible. As Helen King writes in her study of green sickness, ‘the cure for the disease of virgins was to cease to be a virgin’.
Tumblr media
Contemporary theorists have sometimes tried to discover the ‘real’ malady behind green sickness. Clearly it has some affinity to what we now call premenstrual tension, and in later periods it is increasingly associated with anaemia and eating disorders. However, given the fact that the chief symptom of green sickness is the absence of menstruation, the condition that it most clearly resembles is pregnancy. In fact, it seems likely that, in certain circumstances, women disguised unwanted pregnancies as green sickness, an illness which simultaneously provided a justification for a speedy marriage. Once married, the hidden pregnancy could then be ‘discovered’, retrospectively confirming the doctor’s original diagnosis of green sickness; within this context, pregnancy would appear as the cure of the woman’s puffiness, nausea, exhaustion, and disorderly appetites, rather than their cause. Alternatively, women who were pregnant, but who claimed to be green sick, could ask doctors for the means with which to provoke menstruation, seeking remedies which would in effect cause an abortion.
Of the three uterine disorders, green sickness is the malady most relevant to lovesickness. Like lovesickness, green sickness is associated with a young woman’s emerging sexual appetites, emphasizing a woman’s readiness for marriage and providing a rationale for her contrary, unsettled emotions. The discourse surrounding green sickness also provides an alternative, negative way in which to imagine a woman’s virginity, countering Petrarchan and Neoplatonic traditions which grant virginity an elevated ethical and spiritual meaning. As such, green sickness reinforces the MISOGYNISTIC VIEW that women are fundamentally incomplete without men, suggesting that a woman’s virginity, rather than being the sign and source of her rational self-mastery, is an unnatural state prone to illness.
Tumblr media
Green sickness furnished writers with a negative way in which to view virginity, allowing predominately male writers to denigrate overly chaste maidens as sickly or ‘stale’.
In Fletcher and Massinger’s The Elder Brother (1637), Lewis’s derogatory reference to green sickness as a debilitating illness associated with inexperienced young women is the standard way in which the illness is viewed in the early modern period. There are, however, some exceptions. Edward Herbert of Cherbury and Thomas Carew write poems that prettify the malady, depicting it as an erotic innocence that guarantees the woman’s sexual purity. Their poems portray green sickness as a state of sexual ripeness, which enhances the woman’s ethical status as well as her physical allure.
If green sickness reveals the peak of a woman’s sexual development, it also warns how quickly this ripeness will transform into rottenness if the sick virgin will not submit herself to her lover’s cure.
Tumblr media
“If you have not died in the womb, or fallen prey to infant mortality, or to a young girl's greensickness, or to the dangers of childbirth, or if persistent pregnancies and perennial breeding have not worn you to a shadow, and you have not dwindled into a premature grave, then if war, sickness, accident or disease all keep their distance, your chances may be strong for a long life.” ― Elspeth Marr, Aunt Epp's Guide for Life: Miscellaneous Musings of a Victorian Lady
Elspeth Marr (1871-1947)—also known as Aunt Epp—was the great-great-Aunt of author Christopher Rush, who only knew her for two brief years before her death. She lived in the Kingom of Fife, Scotland, where she wrote copious letters and diaries to an unnamed "young girl" in her life. Those documents, which remained undiscovered for years, form the basis of Aunt Epp's Guide for Life.

Infection au stages!!!
Backstory is here
After careful observation, we’ve managed to gather information on what we believe to be the six stages of the illness.
•Days 1 - 6: Stage 1 - Contraction
This stage starts from the moment the virus begins to infect the host.
In this stage it’s possible for the host to recover by themselves, but only if they haven’t taken any medication.
Stage 1 patients have permission to access the whole school.
-Infection is obvious if the patient is bitten or came into contact with ink, which soaks through the skin, or contact with the infected, where it will manifest in the form of a black stain. This has been dubbed category A.
-If the patient caught it from sharing fluids, the first symptom, hives, will show up an hour into catching it. Unlike regular hives, greyscale hives appear in greyscale blotches, hence the name. These hives quickly go away by themselves. This is known as category B.
Other symptoms include:
-Loss of appetite
-mild discomfort of infected areas (A)
-showing symptoms similar to anaemia such as shortness of breath, dizziness when moving quickly and mild fatigue.
-Using magic while infected is incredibly unwise as it only progresses illness.
-Taking painkillers may alleviate symptoms temporarily but are not recommended as they extend the period of the first stage and deny chances of recovery.
-Should the patient recover, it’s unlikely they’ll catch it again. Lasting effects are being studied on the surviving handful.
-Category A infections are treatable via amputation if possible.
•Stage 2 - Spreading.
After roughly a week, the patient becomes contagious. Time periods of stages from here are irregular and vary wildly. They can no longer recover by themselves, but could recover with a cure, or amputations for category A.
Patients are conscious and retain their personality, though may act out of character at times, occasionally behaving violently. Stage 2 patients must reside in either Octavinelle or Diasomnia for quarantining, but are permitted visitors.
Those altering their bodies using potions such as merpeople, or fae hiding their features will be forced into their usual forms.
-Bodily fluids contain ink. Any tears, vomit or coughs will be riddled with infectious ink.
-infected areas will become irritated, black blotches spread and surrounding skin is greyscaled.(A)
-Fingertips start going black and hair will begin to go grey
-recurring stomachaches (B)
-skin will start to go ashy
-extreme fatigue and weakness
-any food or drink consumed will end up getting thrown up.
-their memories begin blurring. They forget things quickly and will get things wrong that they never usually would.
Stage 3: Takehold
At this point, there’s nothing more we can do so far because we have no cure. The patient will only get worse from here. The patient is still conscious, but will sometimes act out of character, generally behaving on their negative traits. They still have humanity, though, so friends will be allowed final visits to say safe, proper goodbyes while they matter.
-entire limbs are stained black.
-skin is significantly paler or ashier.
-prone to biting and other hostile behaviour at times.
-beastmen and merpeople will show animalistic tendencies.
-memory becomes significantly worse, often forgetting things they just did or things they’d never usually forget, even their names.
-starvation due to inability to eat.
-near inability to leave bed.
-eyes lose colour, vision deteriorates.
-internal ink buildup, manifesting as drool, vomit or cysts on the skin.
-infected wounds will start opening, both from category A and other injuries infected with ink.
-bad stomach and gastrointestinal pain (B)
Stage 4: mutation
Originally confused as recovery after stage 3, due to regaining appetite and being able to move properly again. On the contrary, at this point, the body of the patient is half dead, the disease being what keeps them alive for the most part. From the beginning of this stage, patients become dangerous, generally hostile and should only be taken care of by the professionals. They are kept locked away at all times. The patient is fully conscious and has humanity left, but almost nothing remains of their original personality, as the illness is puppeteering their body a lot of the time. This stage would theoretically still be curable to an extent.
-will frequently try to attack others
-skin and eyes are left completely monotone, any new hair is grey.
-patients’ bodies will regain ordinary functions but continue to get thinner.
-near constant leaking of ink
-old, even uninfected wounds open up.
-beastmen and merpeople’s animalistic traits become especially pronounced, both physically and in behaviour.
-the body will show ‘mundane’ disfigurements such as hunching and scoliosis.
-muscle deterioration occurs.
-flesh starts to rot.
-The patient becomes especially sensitive to pain. Painkillers can be used at this point to reduce inevitable suffering.
-the patient starts losing the ability to speak properly
-magic no longer works on the patient
Stage 5: disfigurement
At this stage, the body has died completely. It is past any hopes of curability. The patient is not who they once were. They are still semi conscious but completely locked out of their body, which is controlled by the illness. Patients are generally and ideally terminated at this.
-flesh is mostly rotten.
-patient is unable to speak more than a few words.
-the body goes completely numb.
-the patient no longer listens to commands.
-the patient is now completely blind.
-levels of hostility vary from person to person but generally act violently towards the uninfected.
-patient becomes unnaturally thin.
-entire body parts, generally limbs, may deteriorate.
-most of the internal body other than bones are turned to ink.
-skin becomes very thin and easy to puncture. Bones will often break through skin.
Stage 6: final stage
The final stage of infection.
The patient is not curable. The patient is no longer human. Even if they were once your friend, they won’t remember it. Kill them if you have the chance. Otherwise, run.
-their internal workings are entirely replaced with ink.
-any deteriorated or generally cut off limbs grow back, often in the wrong place.
-puddles of ink form wherever they step.
-patients with unique magics are especially especially dangerous.
-Cannot speak. Some exceptions may repeat words or simple phrases.
-hostility level varies but they are now focused on spreading the infection.

@Canon Colour Game: I am associated with red, because of being a ginger and being the local pyromaniac ('one of the local pyromaniacs' sounds a bit too sad)
@Canon Disability Game: That is a good question - our healthcare was less than stellar and fairly outdated (compared to here and now). I was certainly half-blind and half-deaf (the first matches me right now but the other is worse and I am fully deaf), chronic joint pain (have it now due to kEDS), insomnia (could have been narcolepsy similar to now but nobody tested me back then), PTSD, anaemia, some form of permanent depression (now: bipolar) that wasn't unipolar but nobody was researching the topic locally. I suspect I had ADHD (sameish to present) but that is a suspicion, the same as me trying to cure it with booze. Overall, I was healthier! We lacked any disability support, adaptations or education so no such category existed beyond 'being infirm' or 'feeble-minded' - both were treated by never leaving home or being sent to a 'lovely' institution.

🦋 The 'Butterfly Effect' AU 🦋
Part 1: In The Beginning, There Were Two Best Friends
What happens when 'Setting Right What Once Went Wrong' goes wrong. A summery of an (as-yet) unwritten BNHA AU fanfiction that approaches fic length by itself.
🦋🦋🦋🦋
It all started with a disease spread by rats, a virus that twisted and mutated the DNA of those it infected - and their unborn children.
Not only did this mutation grant them strange powers beyond all rules of science and logic, it had a similar effect on their minds. Sufferers showed increased levels of violence, decreased cognition, black-and-white thinking, and obsessive behaviour bordering on psychosis. Millions died. Society was pushed to the brink of collapse.
It all started with an anonymous scientist who approached the Japanese government with the news that he'd developed a cure for the Paranormal Virus. A cure ready to be mass-produced as soon as they gave him the right resources. Soon, it was being shipped to every school, hospital, prison, and police station in the country.
The National Diet passed a law making it compulsory for every infected to be Cured. Then a law expanding it to every Japanese citizen.
Of course, not everyone took the news well. Many Paranormals and parents of infected children fled to so-called safe cities to live in hiding.
Some fought back as lone vigilantes, organised groups, and even small armies. All Might and his gang. The League of Villains. The Gentle Criminal and La Brava. The most infamous of these terrorists were the twin brothers All For One and One For All, who between them commanded thousands of loyal and well-trained followers.
One by one, the vigilantes were overcome by the JSDF and the newly-formed Human Preservation Society. One For All was killed by an undercover HPS agent. All For One vanished, presumed dead.
Months later, a new kind of Cure came out. Stronger. Faster. Deadlier. This type not only caused severe mental side-effects but outright killed any Paranormals above a certain level of mutation, their bodies breaking apart at the seams as their cells died en masse.
But, despite their best efforts, more Paranormals kept being born - and supplies of the Cure couldn't meet this growing demand.
So they switched tactics.
Most Paranormals would be given a weaker but easier to make 'Viral Suppressant' drug, aka Erasure, that kept the physical and mental effects at bay. Only those who refused to comply and used their powers to cause trouble would receive the Cure. The Incurables - those so physically mutated that their bodies could not withstand the Cure - were humanely dealt with before birth.
To this end, a force of specially-trained and well-armed Peace Agents was formed. Armed with Erasure Bullets, a carbon fibre nightstick, the best body armour science could make, and nerves of steel, it was their job to confront and subdue any Paranormal found using their abilities in public. They were aided in their duties by Parabots, machines designed to mimic the strange abilities of their quarry.
It was into this world that Toshinori Yagi was born, his strange hair and eyes already marking him as a Carrier of the infection. Born with a pale birthmark on his side, spreading across his ribcage, and a susceptibility to stomach issues, especially ulcers.
Orphaned at a young age, he was lucky enough to be sent to a group home in the capital city. Though solely for Carriers, it was a warm and friendly place run by a woman known to her charges as 'Aunt Eri'.
Aunt Eri had a son of Toshinori's age, named Hisashi Chisaki, whose albino complexion matched his sickly constitution. With a weak heart, anaemia, chronic migraines, and an immune system made of wet tissue paper, the boy spent much of his time in bed - both at his home and in hospital - and often missed weeks of school. He would draw strange, violent pictures and sometimes talked to himself. Most of the children at the group home found him intensely creepy.
The first day Toshinori arrived, though, he took one look at the odd, pale boy and saw nothing but someone who needed a friend.
And he was going to be that friend.
He played with Hisashi every day, even on those days he was too weak to do anything more than roll a ball across the floor. He complimented his drawings and stories - including the ones with the man in the black suit and the golden devil who hunted him down. When Hisashi couldn't lift his head from the pillow, Toshinori would sit by his bed and read out loud to him. Always encouraging him to smile, to stand up, to do his best to grow stronger.
And Hisashi did. Toshinori's presence seemed to have the same effect that sunlight does on a wilted plant. He thrived.
Though the two boys were very different both in mind and body, they soon became inseparable. Their personalities balanced each other out, their skills complimenting the other's weaknesses. Hisashi was the only one who called Toshinori a boy and didn't use his old name. Toshinori likewise never made fun of how Hisashi suffered from night terrors, or how he still liked to play with wooden blocks as a teen.
Aunt Eri would sadly remark it was a shame Carriers couldn't marry or have children, as they would make an adorable couple.
While Toshinori threw himself into training to become a Peace Agent, Hisashi studied with the aim of becoming a genetic researcher at HPS HQ. He guarded his best friend jealously, watching for anyone who might take advantage of his kind, selfless nature. Look after yourself, he'd say. Stop saying yes to everything. Don't shoulder everyone else's burdens. For God's sake, go to bed.
People are selfish, fickle things, he'd say. Give them the Moon and they'll ask for the Sun. It's okay to disappoint them. If you don't, well... The moment you really, truly fail them, they'll eat you alive. When you're an Agent, this symbol, this hero, you're not a person to them. Remember that. You're a tool. And broken tools get replaced.
What a nasty future you just foretold. Toshinori would reply. Can't you look into your crystal ball and see something a bit nicer?
It's not a prediction. Hisashi paused. It feels... more like a memory.
Then, on the day of Toshinori Yagi's fifteenth birthday, he was called to Aunt Eri's office. There waited a pair of strange men. One wore a long white coat, facemask, and gloves indoors in the middle of June. The other was scarred and muscular, wearing the uniform of a Peace Agent. He looked Toshinori up and down before nodding.
The masked man bid Toshinori to sit and introduced himself as Doctor Kai Chisaki, head of the HPS's Genetic Research. He said that 'she' had been chosen for a very special position as part of Project Augment, a study into the possible weaponisation of stable, gene-edited strains of the Paranormal virus. To this end, 'she' would be purposefully infected and become a Paranormal himself.
All they needed to do was one little injection of virus-rich blood.
And what if I say no?
Dr Chisaki smiled behind his mask and Toshinori shivered. I know you, Yagi. You won't.
He left the room shaking like a leaf, a sticky plaster covering the puncture wound in his left arm. He felt sick. Feverish. He supposed it was the virus making its way through his system.
Toshinori collapsed bonelessly onto the sofa next to Hisashi, who looked up from his book with a frown. What did he do to you? You look half dead. He took Toshinori's hand, feeling his pulse.
I- I don't know. Dr Chisaki said I'm leaving for special training on Monday. For five years! Toshinori rubbed his face. I think I'm supposed to be happy. It's what I wanted, right? They're making me a special Agent. They say I have a great future ahead of me. I might even have a position at the headquarters. I should be happy.
You don't have to go. I could always lock you away nice and safe in the basement, and tell Dr Chisaki you died in a tragic windsurfing accident. Hisashi smiled but it didn't reach his cold, red eyes.
That won't work. I don't windsurf.
Hisashi fell silent for a moment, putting a hand over Toshinori's heart. Just don't let them turn you cruel. Promise me that. Your kindness, your selflessness, your constant meddling, your childish idealism, your stupid, soft, bleeding heart... All those things I find so frustrating about you - really, they're what I love about you. They're what make you, you. You're the most infuriating person I've ever met and I wouldn't have it any other way. So promise you'll keep that gormless grin on your face, okay?
Alright. Toshinori squeezed his hand. If you'll promise me you'll keep taking your medicine, take care of your heart, and try treat everyone else as nicely as you treated me. Because I know you're a good person, Hisashi. And I want everyone else to know that, too.
...I'll try my best.
That Monday, after waving Toshinori off on his military helicopter, Hisashi Chisaki went home and flushed all of his pills down the toilet, filling the bottles with candy. He took a handful of his old pictures out of the drawer, gazing down at them intently. The man in the suit. The golden devil. The boy with his face. The man made of smoke. They all meant something - but what? What did the dreams mean?
All he knew was, he'd never find out if he kept taking those suppressant pills.
He'd always hated taking them, anyway.
They tasted like blood.

Dovah Racc'n
In awe, Rocket looked at himself in the huge mirror the Terran had provided. He... he looked so different! He was taller, now--no longer as small as he used to be, yet not quite the size of a human, either; he was somewhere in between. Rather than being shades of brown, now Rocket's fur nearly glowed burnished gold, his rings and mask bronze. His tail - whilst still a 'ringtail' thick with fur was a little longer and ran to a pointed tip.
What awed him the most, however, was the utterly enormous pair of furred wings growing from his back, wings, he realized, that he knew how to use! He... he could flarkin' fly if he wanted to! "What... what did you do to me?!" he breathed, turning about to face the two whom his mind told him were Mother and Father. ~We helped you, Rocket,~ Ieesha said softly as David nodded.
"Under the best anaesthetic we had," the not-quite-Humie continued, "I and the Weyrmind operated on you to remove as much of the High Evolutionary's cybernetic junk from inside you as possible--among it all, a number of traps and a kill switch on your heart. No more painful bolts, struts, screws and bars, everything to do with your skeleton is internal, now; all top-of-the-line bio-cybernetics or as fully organic as we could go. Additionally..."
~Additionally,~ Ieesha - Mama - continued, ~I adapted your immune system, and transfused my blood into you, curing you of anaemia as well as other diseases. I...~ and here, she lowered her head, shyly, ~I also fed you... I fed you my milk. The combination... it changed you...~
Rocket blinked, lower jaw trembling, as he remembered being warm, surrounded by something huge and comfortable, and a warm teat gently eased into his mouth, suckling and swallowing milk that had tasted so good, that had made him restful, then sleepy. Old Rocket would have said that he was fine as he was, he didn't need no Mama, that he could look after himself... but Old Rocket was little more than a set of awful, fading unpleasant memories, memories eased away even now by the telepathic bond he shared with David and Ieesha, his new, true, Mother and Father.
Physically the little raccoon had only been aboard the Dragon Weyr for one Terran month... and yet... mentally, he'd been here for over forty years. Forty wonderful, wonderful years filled with happiness, love, and joy--he'd been re-parented by these two amazing beings, and... and - Rocket inhaled a hitching breath - he felt fantastic, better than he had in years.
Deep inside him, a precious bebe raccoon called for Mama; and a child-anthro raccoon raised his arms, whimpered for upsies. Outside in the real world, Rocket touched minds with Papa, psionic energies brushing, polite. Then, turning to Mama Ieesha, as his tears fell, he whispered, "fus ro," and - as the gentle wave of Unrelenting Force rolled over them, and they withstood it - David grinned and Ieesha returned the gesture; she greeted, Rocket, her son as a true Dovah!
Then, she trilled gently at him, gestured to herself with a wing--and that was what did it; with a soft cry of "Ma-!" Rocket wept as he ran over and buried under her wing, the huge dragoness flopping on the ground and curling up around him as Da joined her; whimpering and sobbing, Rocket cuddled up between his new parents as David cuddled him, touched, stroked, and petted him all over and Ieesha nosed, nuzzled, licked away his tears. Rocket, the Dovah Raccoon Hybrid, the Son of Omari Kirata Ieesha and High Templar David... was home...
A short while later, Rocket gently pulled away from his new Ma and Pa. Ieesha's ears drooped a little, and David was stoic. "I..." Rocket started--but then he stalled, his purple eyes growing very misty. He sniffled; immediately, Ieesha was there, head forward, whimpering, nosing, nuzzling, licking his tears away; but that just caused more tears to fall as Rocket spoke with cracking, breaking voice. "O-Old Rocket - I - should hate you for what you done..." Now Ieesha sniffled, tears running from her eyes; David nodded, expression neutral. The poor raccoon's heart ached...
"... and yet, I don't?" he stated, wonderingly. "I... I remember you clear as day explainin' to me what you'd already done - the--the feedin' an' the washin' an' brushin', which felt really good by the way - but... also everything you was gonna do--the--the surgeries, how you were gonna go about fixin' everything the H... the High... that HE did to me. An' I remember agreeing, and then you did! An'... an' I remember it all - it was so weird - 'cos I was awake, talking, conscious through nearly all of it... and there was no pain, like you shut off nerves, or, or... no...! oh gods...!" Rocket's body shook as a sob bubbled from his throat; he looked to David and Ieesha as they nodded gently, confirming his worst fears: that human and dragoness, and even the Weyrmind had taken his pain unto themselves when anaesthetic couldn't be used, sparing him from it!
Rocket remembered his transformation into his new Dovah Raccoon hybrid state - slow, warm, and gentle - and then, tears filled his eyes as he remembered the day when he'd become Dovah enough that Mama could - and had - joined him with the Dov'Sil, the collective consciousness of all Omari Kirata. Rocket had cried, and cried, and cried that day as he lay with his new Mama; that the entirety of the Kirathian Dragon race had seen his past, the deaths of his friends, and had mourned with him, had utterly shared his grief, had flat told him that it wasn't his fault.
The High Evolutionary was dead - he just didn't know it - because every Omari Kirata'Dov and their human companions, Mun'Fahdon, were furious, chomping at the bit to find this man and end him! Rocket Raccoon, now, was no longer alone--he would never be alone again. With a thought, he could call any Kirata'Dov - and their Mun'Fahdon, bonded human companion, if they had one - to his side at any time--and likewise, any member of the Dov'Sil could call him, and he would answer! Even... even the ancient, awe-inspiring and terrifying Mun'Dovah...
Feeling the soft burble of the Dov'Sil in his mind, Rocket sobbed, shook his head, laughed... and then, Dovah Rocket went into his mindscape. There, precious baby now played with a small dovah hatchling; a juvenile dovah watched over, guarded, played with child rocket and his friends; a colossal adult dovah furled wings about a confident, proud adult rocket... but Rocket Raccoon wasn't here for them...
Far, far away, in a darkened corner of his mind... Rocket found the last. Clad in his yellowed, filthy prison jumpsuit, the thin, battered, bruised, fading echo of old rocket took one look at the new Dovah Raccoon and - frothing at the mouth - bared filthy, cracked yellowed teeth and started to yell at Dovah Rocket, that he'd been violated in the worst way, that his new parents didn't love him at all, that he should take the Dragon Weyr as his ship, that he was even more of a freak and a monster no one would ever love him the winged freak monster hate hate hate HATE HATE-HATE-HATE-HATE-KILL-'EM-ALL-BLOW-THEM-ALL-UP-RIP-THEIR-FUCKIN'-FACES-OFF-WORTHLESS FUCKIN' STINKIN' BALD-BODY-HUMIE-FUCKIN'-PATHETIC-SOFT-LIZARD...!
Tears falling from his eyes to stain and mat his fur, the Dovah Racc'n picked up old rocket and - as the fading echo grew smaller and smaller - Dovah Rocket accepted, gently embraced, and then at last forgave his old self. He felt his new Mother and Father come to stand beside him, then, David and Ieesha joining him in his mindscape, the human's and dragon's tears joining with his as all watched the final echo of old rocket fade away, disappearing into little motes of light. Returning to the real world, Rocket stuttered brokenly, "... Don't hate you; can't hate you... ... don't' wanna hate anymore...! I... I love you both so, so much...!" Weeping softly, gently, the raccoon fell into the embrace of Ieesha and David; there he cried, and cried, and cried mourning old rocket, and David and Ieesha mourned with him.

Fad diets were dangerous in the 1920s, too:
"Indeed, the 1920s were probably the high point of food faddism in the United States. Dietary evangelists of one stripe or another touted the health benefits of fasting, mastication, vegetarianism, fruitarianism, raw foods, sour milk, drinking two quarts of milk daily, the grape cure, no breakfast, no protein, hot water, no water with meals, coffee with meals, liver as a miracle food, and on and on. Many of these programs were supposed to enhance not only internal well-being but external beauty as well. After centuries of judging the curvaceous form ideal, millions of American women suddenly decided that the slim, “sylphlike,” and boyish body type was now the goal. They embarked on all kinds of reducing regimens, including the canned pineapple and lamb chop diet, supposedly popular among movie stars: “For breakfast the order is one lamb chop and one slice of pineapple. For luncheon two lamb chops and one slice of pineapple. For dinner two lamb chops and two slices of pineapple.” That combination of meat and fruit was somehow supposed to melt the pounds away. In fact, so many women—and more than a few men—were experimenting with drastic diets, high colonics, patent medicines, therapeutic soaps, and other nostrums guaranteed to shed pounds that thousands were ending up in hospitals, victims of physical and mental collapse. Alarmed, in 1926 the American Medical Association convened an “Adult Weight Loss Conference” in New York with leading doctors as speakers. After the conference, they drafted a widely reprinted, sixteen-part series of articles exposing the dangers of reducing fads and recommending a gradual plan consisting of exercise and a balanced, low-calorie diet. Their efforts mainly fell on deaf ears. At the end of the decade arose the Hollywood Diet, featuring a menu of grapefruit and various proteins and guaranteed to help you lose eighteen pounds in as many days. Once again, hospitals saw a rise in “cases of acidosis, jaundice, anaemia and similar complaints arising from malnutrition from its adherents” and issued a new series of health warnings."

Understanding Kidney Diseases: Early Signs, Risks, and Effective Treatment Without Dialysis
Over 700 million people across the world suffer from kidney-related problems, and the number is increasing each year. The good news is that renal disease can be controlled and treated efficiently if treatment is begun in the early stages. However, many patients treat their kidney health lightly, and waiting for chronic kidney disease treatment can be a significant cause of bringing the condition to a more serious stage.
Today, we'll be educating our readers on the early indications and symptoms of kidney diseases. We will also talk about the health issues that are more prone to develop kidney problems. We will then move on to the treatment aspect and strategies for managing the problem. These strategies include an effective approach to kidney failure treatment without dialysis. Read the article further to learn more about the subject.
Tumblr media
Early signs and symptoms of kidney disease
Urinary Changes: Healthy kidneys filter blood to produce urine. If your kidneys aren't working well, you may have frequent urination or see some blood in your urine. The urine may also turn bubbly or foamy. This could be because you leak protein into urine due to damaged kidneys. If you're experiencing these issues, consult an herbalist to find the most effective cure for chronic kidney disease.
Inflammation: These toxins accumulate in your bloodstream, which can make you exhausted or depleted of energy. CKD can also trigger anaemia when you lack red blood cells. You may be tired or weak.
Itching: If you suffer from itchy and dry skin, it could be due to an imbalance in minerals and harmful compounds in your blood as a result of kidney disease. A high phosphorus level usually causes itching.
Oedema in the hands, legs, or feet: If your kidneys aren't eliminating excess sodium and fluid, you'll notice swelling (oedema) in your feet and elsewhere in your body.
Pain in the lower back: You might suffer from constant or growing pain in the lower back, which is below your ribcage. The kidneys are situated on both sides of your spine, in the midline of the lower back, and kidney diseases can create pain and discomfort in the area. An infection in the kidneys or blockage could also cause back pain. Homeopathy kidney problem medication may alleviate the pain.
Insomnia, nausea or vomiting: These are the signs that your kidneys aren't functioning properly, and toxins begin to accumulate in your body. This can make you feel sick or perhaps exhausted enough not to want food and cause a loss of appetite.
Puffy eyes:  When protein begins to leak into your urine due to damage to your kidneys, this will lead to an increase in the size of your eyes and is an early indicator that you have kidney problems.
Who is more likely to suffer from Kidney disorders?
Age: The risk of developing chronic kidney disorder (CKD) grows as you get older. Individuals who are over 55 may be affected by this condition. They could need treatment for kidney failure.
Diabetes: It's one of the main risk factors for CKD, and it is estimated that one in three adults diagnosed with the disease also suffers from the condition.
High Blood Pressure: High blood pressure has been identified as the second most common danger factor in CKD, affecting about 1 of 5 adults suffering from the disease.
Obesity: Obesity increases the chance of having diabetes and high blood pressure, which are the two major factors that contribute to CKD.
Family Histories: Having a family member who suffers from kidney disease increases your chances of getting the condition.
Smoking cigarettes: This habit increases blood pressure, which can lead to kidney disease. It can also worsen the problem when you already suffer from it.
Additional Risk Factors:  Other potential risk factors for CKD include kidney disease, an abnormal structure, and frequent usage of medicines that could harm the kidneys. These can lead to the need for high creatinine treatment.
The Homeopathic treatment for kidney Disease
Homeopathic remedies work in three ways: they manage the diseases that could damage kidneys, thereby preventing any further damage; they attempt to treat the root of the problem with their treatment for kidney failure; and they enhance the immune system of patients, which allows the body's organs to function normally and without issues. Homeopathy is renowned for having no adverse effects, while kidney transplants and dialysis can cause pain for patients and can strain the body.
While transplantation is a commonly utilised treatment, it might only sometimes be effective and is appropriate for some suffering from kidney failure. A lot of patients who have received the homeopathic chronic kidney disease treatment have improved their recovery. If given under the watchful supervision of a trained expert, they usually begin to feel better within just a few weeks. If they continue to receive treatment for many months, patients may be totally free of kidney ailments and go back to normal.
Bharat Homeopathy - Renowned Homeopathic Centre
From high creatinine treatment to other problems associated with the kidney, our physicians at Bharat Homeopathy have many years of experience providing reliable treatment to patients. Our methods are painless and non-invasive. We prescribe natural remedies, make necessary dietary changes, and make lifestyle adjustments to treat the problem.
We offer a kidney failure treatment without dialysis, which is the best option for older patients, as dialysis may be an excruciating procedure. Bharat Homeopathy is a great way to slow down the progress to chronic kidney disease (CKD) in a great extent. It is due to the absence of negative side effects. This is essential since harmful medications can cause severe damage to the kidneys. The comprehensive approach to treatment focuses on the entire healing process instead of giving temporary relief for an individual condition. Our medicines aim to target the root of the disease and, with their healing gentleness, help nurture the body towards health.

A new tablet being developed to cure intestinal worms has shown promising results in trials and could help eradicate the parasitic infection, which affects about 1.5 billion people globally, researchers say.The mango-flavoured pill is a combination of two existing anti-parasitic drugs that, used together, appear more effective in getting rid of worms. These worms are caught through contact with food or water that has been infected by soil contaminated with worm eggs and infections cause severe gastrointestinal symptoms, malnutrition and anaemia. Researchers say the pill could help overcome any future drug resistance problems and better manage the disease on a large scale. The parasites, also known as soil-transmitted helminths (STHs), include whipworm and hookworm and are endemic in many developing countries where hygiene levels are poor. Many of those affected are children and there is no preventative treatment other than better sanitation.According a study, called "ALIVE", published in the Lancet, this new pill could help countries most affected reach goals set by the World Health Organization to eliminate the diseases. It would be taken as a fixed-dose of of either one single pill or three tablets over consecutive days.Researchers from eight European and African institutions say it would be a simple way to cure large numbers of people in mass treatment programmes."It is easy to administer, as it is one single pill," says project leader Prof Jose Muñoz."Also, we hope that combining two drugs with different mechanisms of action will reduce the risk of the parasites becoming drug-resistant," Prof Muñoz says.Once a person is infected, the parasites root themselves in people's digestive tracts. While the drug albendazole is good at treating some species of STH, it appears to be becoming less effective in tackling some others.During a clinical trial involving 1,001 children aged between 5-18 in Ethiopia, Kenya and Mozambique, it was found to be more effective on more types of infection when combined with the drug ivermectin. However, researchers said the results were not conclusive on how well it treated threadworm.Prof. Hany Elsheikha, an expert in parasitology at the University of Nottingham said the pill could be a "significant improvement over other treatments" and could be used against multiple parasites."There are some challenges with existing medications...so this could be a major, major addition."However, he said that while the study was "promising", it had "some gaps"."We don't know if the results would be the same for adults, mature people, younger kids, people in other parts of the world."The results of the trial have been submitted to regulators in Europe and Africa, with decisions expected in early 2025.Participants are now being recruited to take part in a further trial on 20,000 people in Kenya and Ghana.Dr Stella Kepha, a researcher at Kenya Medical Research Institute who worked on the study said the pill had " great potential for improving the health of affected communities" but that there was still "work to do" to widely roll out the treatment.

Must Know Benefits and Uses of Malt Extract
Malt extract is quite a recent addition in the market, that perfectly substitutes sugar while keeping the sweetness intact. Though you can see from the records that people have been eating barley for the last 10,000 years, using it as malt extract in energy drinks has only started during the 1900s. Malt extract is a concentrated form of malted or pre-germinated barley which contains the sweetness of the grain along with other essential nutrients. Instead of the fructose that raises your blood sugar levels, it offers Maltose, a healthier form of sugar. Here in this blog, you will get to know the manifold benefits and uses of Malt extract.
Tumblr media
Benefits that you get from Malt Extracts
Barley grain contains iron, magnesium, and B vitamins along with a wide range of antioxidants that help to cure anaemia, bone fragility, fatigue, etc. That is why it is especially good for pregnant women. Besides, it contains maltose, which is a health-beneficial sugar that releases energy slowly. So it will keep you energetic for a longer time. That is why malt extract powder manufacturers often get contracts from leading sports drink manufacturers.
Malt Extract In Beer Brewing
Other than in the preparation of sports drinks Malt extract is popularly used in brewing beer and baking as well. Malt extract is an essential ingredient in the formation of wort in beer brewing. The liquid malt extract sugar is used in the fermentation process of beer-making where the yeasts transform the sugar into alcohol and CO2. Malt extract also regulates the colour and flavour of the beer.
Malt Extract In Baking
Another industry using malt extracts extravagantly is the baking industry. Malt extracts in addition to their sweetness provide the essential soft and spongy texture in the baked items. The natural maltose sugar instead of the refined traditional fructose sugar makes the baking items edible even for diabetic patients. The mild sugary and nutty flavour along with its rich golden colour provides additional delight in the baked items, may it be cakes or cookies. Malt extract also helps in securing the moisture of baked goods, which contributes to their softness and freshness for a long time.
Conclusion
In conclusion, malt extract has several health benefits which make it ideal for brewing, baking and health drink industries. Malt extract powder in India is also gaining popularity as more and more people are becoming health conscious. The energy, flavour, texture, and additional nutrients that you get from it make it a complete winner over traditional refined or artificial sugars.
