       It’d been three days since his slip up cost him and his brother their freedom. Liam didn’t mention it; not that he needed to. It was written into the clench of his jaw and the tension mounting on his shoulders. This was Killian’s fault. There was nothing heroic or martyrish about the way this blame settled on the younger brother’s shoulders -- it was plain truth, ugly as it was. Not that it appeared to register for him given his demeanor.

       Unfortunately, it’d also been three days now that he’d been nursing a brilliant headache all courtesy of the thug hunters and their baseball bat. One crack to the back of the head and it’d been lights out. At least -- at the moment -- the view wasn’t horrible.

       “Next bloke that wanders by I’m frisking for a painkiller.”
