im sorry but what the fuck is wrong with this person
people aren’t using it as a “gotcha” against swifties (unbelievable victim complexes) theyre calling attention to the fact that taylor swift never publicly acknowledged ana’s death or reached out to the family or pay funeral fees (the family had to CROWDFUND TO PAY FOR THE FUNERAL EXPENSES). im sure if ana was alive she’d be fucking pissed actually and not gaf about taylor at all.

what happened with taylor swift? i heard about the fan dying but not much else
Ana Benevides, a 23-year-old black woman died during Taylor Swift's concert in Rio, and her family doesn't even have the money to transport her body back to their city. Apparently, Taylor spoke superficially about this, not even mentioning the victim's name. Furthermore, a thousand more people became ill during the show because of the heat. It was around 60°C (140° F) there. The show's production team even placed metal sheets on the floor that made it even hotter, blocked the air vents so that no one could see the show from outside, and didn't let people come in with bottles of water, you had to buy it inside, but was being sold at an exorbitant price.
The problem is that Taylor is a billionaire, she could very well have avoided all of this. And now that it's happened, she's doing absolutely nothing to help. Brazilian fans who had to raise money on their own to help Ana's family.
Obviously, the climate issue is not her fault, but the entire country has been on alert for weeks because of the heat. Crowding people together in these conditions is completely wrong. Both her team and the company they hired should have taken more responsibility.
They even canceled the second show, but it was at the last minute after fans spent hours queuing under the hot sun. And in the last show she did here yesterday, she didn't comment on the girl who died, nor did she mention anything.

Ana Benevides' mother, Adriana, shares that Taylor Swift contacted the family last week.
''There was an invitation to watch Sunday's show in São Paulo and Taylor's team signaled the singer's intention to help her family. For all the attention, thank you for the respect, affection and solidarity expressed."

THANK YOU! And honestly fuck every single american swiftie that thinks they have any right to have an opinion on this.
Again: thanks!! Some of you (most of you, for what i can see) are just terribly xenophobic and racist.
#taylor swift#the eras tour#the eras tour brazil#tw: death#i'll NEVER forgive her silence#idc. i didn't even want her to pay for shit (although she could)#but she/her team should have tried to contact the family#she should have told ana's mom that she also loved her daughter and that she hopes this lovely girl can rest in peace#it was the fucking bare minimum#if she ever did it -- it was def after sunday and just because ana's mom told the news taylor never reached out to her#all of this has been so disappointing#m.

The more I see from yesterday’s show, the more it really shows how concerned Taylor was the whole time, directing her team to give out water and at times throwing bottles out herself. All the while someone had already fallen victim to the dangerous conditions, and seeing the footage, it’s honestly a miracle only one person died.
I hope health and safety are being taken seriously and conditions are improved for future shows so everyone can have a safe and special experience.
Stay safe, Brazilian fans, and rest easy sweet Ana 🕊️

Taylor Swift fans had to pitch in to help pay Ana Benevides' family back for the loan they had to take out to transport her body back home to be buried. The fans did it. Not T4F (certainly the ones with a moral obligation to do it) and not the billionaire popstar herself, who, while not obligated, could have shown a little kindness.

Dear @taylorswift,
I just want to tell you how much you are loved and how thankful we are for everything you do above and beyond for your fans. I know how heartbroken you are feeling right now and we are standing with you and grieving with you. I wish I could hug you and tell you it’s all going to be okay.
Our love and support goes out to the fans in Rio, we see you and we feel your pain. This was not Taylor’s fault. Please know she will do everything in her power to make you happy and put on the best show for you when it’s possible. What happened is a tragedy and we are crying with all of you.
Please sho your support to Taylor, she is feeling all of your emotions at once and it must be the most overwhelming pain imaginable.
We love you Taylor and we are here.
❤️🫶🏻❤️

This is the point where I'm actually truly disappointed at Taylor.
Posting a small note on her stories without even mentioning Ana Clara's name is a choice, quite possibly one made not only by her. It hurts to see the distance that is being put between Taylor and Ana, but I can understand that this is a PR decision that goes beyond just her (even if, being honest, I think it's very wrong and cold and, at this point in Taylor's career, unnecessary).
Like everyone, I got emotional watching her singing Bigger Than The Whole Sky, seeing how emotional she was herself, seeing that the whole crowd was meaning every word while singing it with her.
But at the same time, we were first hearing the news that Ana's family isn't getting any support, not from the venue, not from the company and not from Taylor's team and this made the entire thing hollow. Because how can you spend you whole career preaching about the collaboration between your fans and still turn the blind eye when something like this happens?
Even if she still wanted to keep distance from that tragedy, something that I'd never think she should do, but that I could try to understand and see the reasons, she has all the means in the world to help. At this point, her word is worth a lot, even more when it comes to a fan in her concert. If she didn't want her name being associated further with this, an anonymous donation would be more than enough. Actually, it was the bare minimum we all not only hoped, but thought was already happening.
Distancing herself from this goes directly against everything Taylor went for her whole career and it's really really painful to see that the care she has for us has limits she could surpass with very little effort.
We are joining to help Ana's family, organizing a fundraiser to pay for everything they need, because once more, the fans have to do what people that SHOULD be doing things aren't moving. And we are still trying to get Taylor's team attention because if they can listen to the fans asking to turn off the pyrotechnics for Bad Blood, they can listen when we ask help to allow a family to have at least a bit of dignity when grieving a tragedy like this.
I hope Taylor can change my mind and we have some help from her team, better late than never, but until then,
Help Ana's family donating to this PayPal:
(this is the only official mean to donate, beware scammers)
And by the way, in no way I mean this as a way to blame Taylor Swift or her team when the true people to blame is T4F. I want this company to rot and declare bankruptcy before the year ends for all they are making us go though from beginning to end of this experience. I just feel like seeing their inaction, Taylor should be doing something.

I’m still furious at the Brazil mess so I’m sorry if this is incoherent but holy fuck!!!! Im not saying this to minimize Ana’s death, but another person was shot and killed before the concert, and over 1000 people were injured during it as well!! I don’t care whether it was strictly her, the venue, of her team making decisions none of that should’ve happened. They banned outside water, closed the air vents so people in the parking lot couldn’t hear for free, used pyrotechnics even though fans begged her not to make the already 100 degree heat worse. The fact that over A THOUSAND people fainted or were burned by the venues metal grates and she did nothing to stop it and nothing afterward!!! Brazil is one of the places being hit by global warming the hardest and she did all this shit during the hottest time of year, AND flew back and forth between Brazil and her home every night instead of staying in a hotel. She’s been one of if not the biggest individual contributors to pollution for the past 2 years!! Indirectly and directly she is to blame for all this and I think she knows it. It’s probably why she couldn’t muster more than a “I’m so sad don’t msg :(“ insta story post and purposely skipped all her other shows quiet moments. It’s clear she doesn’t care about her fans, especially fans of color. I hope everyone at that concert sues for negligence.
no worries its not incoherent at all!
her negligence was deliberate. idc what any swiftie says she is responsible to a certain extent of the venue and she definitely 100% has the power to make sure none of that shit happened. but she knew and didn’t care (and she definitely knew because they also told her of ana’s death). a moral human being would stop the show and make sure the conditions were liveable and SAFE to be in during a concert but she knew she already had everyone’s $ so she just went on anyways. and i don’t doubt the fact her negligence was aided by the fact that brazil isn’t a wealthy white western country so she wouldn’t face as much backlash. can you imagine if this happened in the U.S. with a girl that looked just like her? her tour would be cancelled. & you’re not minimizing ana’s death at all, you’re just giving proper context to the horrific situation and letting us know her death wasn’t spontaneous but a direct result of the neglectful and actively dangerous conditions. and then to top this all off with her flying to/from her LA home like what a way to say fuck you to her brazilian fans. im so sorry this happened and her racism is undeniable and fatal
