Lawrence would react with curiosity at first, only if Charlotte is interested in them in more of a son-way and not just as nephews. He knows she wouldn’t hurt them too badly without his permission, and only if they did something to deserve it in the first place, so he’d let them see her more often.

It would be funny to imagine them taking turns with them both, kind of acting like a divorced couple ngl. Lawrence would be intrigued to see Charlotte’s “parenting” methods, and honestly, half the time wouldn’t stop her from most of her crueler punishments since he knows she knows what she’s doing.

I personally could see Charlotte liking Ellington more, just because he seems to be more of a “challenge” in her eyes (if I’m reading your ocs correctly lol, I know they both seem like a pretty big challenge XD).

She would definitely be the devil on Lawrence’s shoulder—basically like the devil having a devil on his shoulder lol. Lawrence already comes up with awful punishments, Charlotte would suggest even worse ones.

And though Charlotte is more wealthy, Lawrence still has more resources to get to them before her unless they decide to work together, which I could also see them doing!

Others were still stuck grieving the years lost, the opportunities missed. Alzack and Bisca's wedding, Macao being new guild leader, Romeo growing up...

Jude Heartfilia's death.

He wasn't a great father. Wasn't even good, really - always brushing aside Lucy's identity and wants to put himself first, even using her for money once.

"I mean, really, he even tried arranging me to marry some guy I met one time! It's rediculous... right? So... why am I still sad?" She asks Natsu when they're back at the guild, sitting at one of the few old tables. Natsu and Happy stay close to her for some time, not knowing how to help besides being there.

What could they say, anyways? Neither could truly understand her pain, but it seemed she couldn't either with the complicated mix of emotions. Sad that he's gone, while also not denying how terrible he was...

Natsu sighs and lays his head on the table, resting since Lucy had gone home for the night. He thinks over the events, trying to think of who he could get advice from, but--

"No, no... I just..." Natsu frowns, looking down at the glass in Mira's hands. Fire crackles in his ears. "I don't like that."

From a few seats over, Cana howls in laughter, staring at the two. "No wonder!" She snickers, slamming her empty cup on the counter. "You're always at her side! Geez, get together already!"

"Together?" He asks with a tilt of his head, staring blank at Cana.

"Ah," she goes silent, her laughter quieting down. "What, I thought you like her? Romantically, I mean."

A/N: HI IM BACK FROM THE DEAD! These were supposed to be a lot shorter but I got too excited. If you by any chance wanna see some for your fav character lmk! I know it says request are closed in my bio but since it’s just hcs it’s a lot less (and I really enjoyed writing these so ajdhdhdk)

🔥Diluc:

This man cannot swim. Tell me otherwise, I dare you.

Kaeya tried to jokingly push him off a lil diving cliff area when they were kids.

He almost drowned. Kaeya was in a lot of trouble.

So, good luck getting this man to actually get in the water. The most he’ll do is sit on the shore where it’s very shallow.

He usually prefers to just stay under an umbrella on the sand and keep an eye on you.

Calls you every two hours in advance and helps you reapply sunscreen.

He’s very pale so I feel like he burns pretty easily, meaning he needs to reapply super frequently otherwise he will become a tomato. He brings like three bottles of the good shit. Tch, rich boy.

If you ask him to build a sandcastle, he will pretend to be annoyed but do it anyways. Ends up finding it kind of enjoyable.

He has the maids prepare a nice picnic basket for the two of you!! It’s got all your favorite foods plus grape juice cuz y’know.

If any creepy peeps approach you, don’t worry. He brought his vision and his claymore.

Of course, he won’t have to resort to such violent lengths. Everyone in Mondstadt knows who Diluc is and they probably know you’re his s/o, so they’re usually smart enough to mind their own business.

If they don’t, don’t worry. Diluc’s glare is more than enough to scare them away.

All in all I definitely recommend a beach day with him! I’ll give it a solid 8/10 (-2 for not wearing floaties and getting in the water with you or letting you teach him how to swim.

🖌Albedo:

You guys definitely 100% take Klee out with you on a beach day.

You guys bring snacks, beach toys like buckets and shovels for optimal sandcastle building, a picnic blanket, etc.

Jean definitely packs a lot more stuff for you guys to take with you than you actually need.

It’s only cuz she’s worried for Klee and is nervous about not being able to go with you guys though! It’s very sweet really.

Klee tries to bomb the fish and cause havoc at the beach 😭

I think Albedo is a good swimmer and gets in with you and Klee so that he can help her (which is very cute omfg)

He’s set total workaholic, as we know, so it took a lot of convincing to get him to put down his experiments and accompany you to the beach (however, he’s particularly weak to yours and klee’s puppy dog eyes so he caved eventually)

Though, looking at you and Klee happily building sandcastles and decorating them with pretty seashells of all shapes and colors, he can’t really find it in himself to complain.

He, of course, takes this opportunity to take out his sketchbook and draw the waves, seagulls, you… Of course he won’t let you see the sketch book no sir. He’s a bit embarrassed to be honest, but an artist such as himself recognizes beauty when he sees it so he simply had to draw you. (God I love him so much)

If a creepy person approaches you,- well don’t worry. The sight of a small arsonist child blowing up fish is enough to scare them away 🥰

At the end of the day, all three of you are all ticketed out. Albedo has to carry Klee back to Mondstadt because the poor baby fell asleep the moment you started drying her hair with the beach towel. You’re, of course, carrying back Dodoco and your bags. (You also manage to sneak a peak at Albedo’s sketchbook and find some very pretty drawings of you and Klee with your sandcastle)

At the end of the day, you guys tuck Klee in and read her a bedtime story (she woke up and insisted). Afterwards Albedo takes you back home and thanks you for coming with you and Klee (which you ofc say wasn’t a problem because how could you not???)

All in all? I’ll give it a solid 10/10. You’ve got tasty food, fun times, your boyfriend and his cute kid adoptive sister (yes I am very biased idc)

🦋Xiao:

I think it would take a lot of convincing to get Xiao to go out on a beach date with you.

He’ll probably see it as a distraction getting in the way of his slaying of monsters and demons.

However, he also worships the grounds you walk on (hehe, simp XD), so I don’t think it’ll take that much convincing on your part (especially because it’s is self appointed duty to keep you safe so if you insist on going with or without him, he supposes he’ll have to go)

Is definitely a bit tense at first. He doesn’t know how to let loose and chill so while you’re sun tanning on a beach chair he’s like 🧍‍♂️ahdgshjsjd

Eventually calms down a bit though! You get him to relax and eat some almond tofu you brought along with you. It definitely gets him to perk up.

I don’t think he would mind getting into the water but I do think he’d rather walk along the shore and collect pretty seashells and sea glass.

He later gives the ones he deems pretties to you (he hands them over to you with a blush on his face and pretends it’s not a big deal and he definitely gets all pouty and grouchy when you coo at how adorable he is)

As for creeps, Xiao is both intimidating and well known in Liyue. No one is brave enough (or, let’s be honest, dumb enough) to approach you with any bad intentions.

Sure, Xiao has sworn never to harm a human/citizen of Liyue but that doesn’t mean he can’t scare the absolute shit out of them.

I think Xiao would definitely enjoy a beach day 🥺🥺. He’d find it very relaxing to go out with you and just hear the sound of waves and feel the sand under his feet.

He’d definitely hint at wanting to do it again later. Of course, he won’t tell you. No, that’s a foolish mortal activity and he has much better things to do.

Wait no, don't turn around, yes he will go with you next month.

All in all, I give Xiao a 9/10. It’s a very relaxing day (which he deserves 😤). And you get to see a whole new side of him.

💎Ningguang:

OK SO ORIGINALLY I WASN'T GONNA WRITE ONE FOR HER (at least not in this post) BUT THEN I THOUGHT OF LADY NINGGUANG TAKING YOU TO A WHOLE ASS PRIVATE BEACH

She knows you don’t care about how exclusive the beach you go to is (in fact, the fact that you don’t care about where you are or what you do is one of the things that make her fall more and more madly in love with you) but you deserve the best so she’s gonna go all out.

She’s a busy lady so days like this where the two of you get to go somewhere and be together are few and far between.

She knows it’s hard to be in a relationship with someone who is busy 24/7, so she appreciates how you remain by her side despite all hardships. (Y’all are a whole ass power couple istg)

The two of you spend your day relaxing. Sun bathing, drinking piña coladas, maybe taking a dip in the ocean. It’s all very pleasant!

Ningguang doesn’t quite feel like the type of person who would sit in the sand and make sandcastle, however you’re more than welcome to make some yourself. She finds it endearing <3

If you insist on her helping, she’ll eventually comply. She loves you too much to say no. I feel like she’ll either be terrible at it or like a total architect.

Sand is technically like tiny rocks right? So maybe she can use her vision to help her? If that’s the case, she’s making a replica of the Jade chamber out of sand.

If any creepy person comes up to you don’t worry. Ningguang will buy the whole beach and then use her right of admission as owner to permanently ban them from the beach you’re at.

The only downside to a day at the beach with Ningguang might be that there’s a big chance she’ll be called to tend urgent matters, seeing as she is the Tianquan of the Liyue Qixing and all.

If that does happen, she’ll be sure to make it up to you somehow, whether it be rescheduling or taking care of the matter as soon as possible so that the two of you can get back to your day of relaxation and fun.

All in all?? Lady Ningguang will treat you like total royalty and the two of you will have an amazing time! I give her an 11/10 (she would literally buy a whole beach for you to be comfortable I mean c’mon)

🍃Venti:

BEACH DAYS WITH HIM ARE SO FUN!!

Swimming? Yeah, he’d love to! Sunbathing? Sure! He’ll ever conjure up a light breeze for the two of you. Sandcastle building? WELL OF COURSE WHY DO YOU THING HE BROUGHT ALL THESE BUCKETS AND SHOVELS?

No but seriously, he might be the best person out of everyone here to go to the beach with. He’s fun, free spirited, and he’s a traveling bard who’s been alive long enough to know where all the best beaches in Teyvat are. (He also knows a guy- er, well, dragon I suppose- who is willing to fly them to any place).

He’ll play some soft tunes while you doze under the sun.

HE PICKS PRETTY SHELLS AND GIFTS THEM TO YOU!!!

He will bring booze. I’m pretty sure this is a necessity. If you’re a little upset about it, he’ll probably “eheh~” his way out of it. That slick bastard.

If you really insist on him not drinking, he won’t consume much alcohol.

If some creepy person approaches you and tries to ruin you your day of beach time fun, all of their stuff will suddenly be blown away, causing them to scramble back to their spot and (almost embarrassingly) flail around trying to catch everything. What a shame…

At the end of the day, he’d be a little sad to leave. Definitely makes plans about tbe two of you going back soon.

i didnt rlly mind the THOUGHT of kira and odo: i was actually rlly welcome to the idea of them sort of ending up together, somehow, but then realising they rlly werent a right fit. it made sense- with bareil passing, and odo still trying to learn to navigate human relationships, and them being very close friends but somehow reading the wrong things into it, but its just.... idk they left it on the back burner way too long and that it really doesnt even make sense to do that now so this entire episode i was jsut like. :/ ok? bc its not offering much of anyhting any more to me, my love, im afraid and tht makes me go -_- bc now youvrjust ... kind of wacked them both together and i hope u arent insufferable with it, but when that happens and relationships are made between core chars with little intention then . well thats honestly the case. i mean i guess maybe theyre trying to go for like... them literally being endgame, he really has been there and she just needs to open her eyes- but god it jsut doesnt work for me..... i dotn think they make a good couple that would stay together liek tht. like i said i think they could have easily grown together much earlier on in some way and then parted ways amicably as besties but idk this just feels off to m now

furthermore with regards to shakaar and bareil... like honestly i dont mind kira having offscreen boyfriends- sorta like how sisko has kassidy , where shes more lowkey, but shes STILL a fully formed character its just shes sorta not the main focus like. im kinda fine with tht you know like.... again i feel like. hm.

i feel like as a general rule of thumb for me . if a character in question is motivated a lot or if a truly significant part of their life is defined by their dynamic with another, more minor character... then that other character does have to have some significant substance and agency. like if u want me to actively give a shit when ur char does i have to actually.... see a another char there, and not a cardboard cutout. its why i rlly rate them for fleshing out jake: lots of parent characters are just given flat, meaningless kids (or vice versa) just to endanger them or to pull on the heartstrings whenever which. really just kinda feels hollow. sisko being a father is a defining part of him- and so its really good tht they have jake fleshed out properly...

meanwhile then im just infuriated by the absolute disservice done to keiko and molly on the REGULAR when o'brien is supposed to be the family man. always presenting keiko in the way they do- its beyond unfair- and at this point in the show theyve literally forgotten abt her for seasons and shoved her elsewhere. and im like. -_- ok.

anyways my point is omg i went on a tangent. .. i think with kira, again- id be frankly FINE with bareil and shakaar being not that relevant at all, bc it really isnt sth that defines her however i WILL say tht... god on both accounts thye both just feel like lost potential. and maynwbe im sayin that bc im sorely missing the politics between ds9 and bajor? i mean- the show has grown so much over the past few seasons, so theyve jsut left it a little by the wayside which is fine but... wahrgh. i dont know i think the fact kira was dating two very politically powerful men- whilst i dont think it ever was to the detriment of her character that they werent fullyy explored, it reaaally does feel like a lost opportunity as does all of the relationships between ds9 and bajor. i guess the show just decided to go elsewhere with a lot of stuff and a lot of the stuff it is focussing on now is GOOD, like... hell i mean . even just episodewise. right now its like 2-3 mediocre eps (one of which might genuinely be. bad.) in a whole season which ... out of like 26? like so many of them are just so GOOD rn omg .... adgosndgpsdh

5 Risks That Gave 2019 a 180-Degree Turn

It is almost the end of the year, and here we are trying to look back at what basically happened in the year that is yet to end. I am guessing that it will either be a trip down to memory lane or a flashback of regrets. It is undeniable that we are all rooting for the former though.

2019 embodies a different personality for every person. I have scrolled through Instagram looking at people’s 2019 stories - travel, success, milestones, relationships, reconciliation, breakups, enlightenment, coffee, and more coffee. Some would say it is a year to be thankful for; some would say it is something they have to let go of. I am thinking each year boils down into two options: make or break. 

I have known people who got married this year, had their first child, graduated from college or graduate school, got back with their ex, traveled a lot this year, just got promoted at work. Others I have known of lost a family member, ended a long time relationship, got cheated on, lost an opportunity they have been waiting for so long, was rejected by a person they liked so much or friendzoned, had a friendship gap because of little things that got out of hand.

Each year that passes for us is a mathematical problem that just got solved or just left us even more puzzled than we were in this life. If I were to assess my 2019, I choose the latter. There are so many things this year that got me asking myself, “ What the heck was that?” or “What on Earth just happened?”

I am about to share to you 5 personal things that happened in my year and what I learned from them. These are not just 5 personal issues or drama or whatever you would call that, but they are “risks” I took this year that made me tell myself, “Damn, girl! Ano? Rebel ghorl?”

1. Pixie Cut

Christmas of 2018 was when I finally had a short haircut after 3 years of having a long hair, but 2018 was yet to be shaken. It was because I finally decided, middle of this year, to get a pixie after a year of push and pull conflict with myself. I was too excited to get my hair chopped real short that time and also nervous. Why was I nervous? SIZT! I was about to get the shortest length of haircut in my entire life (so far). Who knows I might sport myself a baldy some day? 

Do I consider it a risk? ENTIRELY. It was a huge risk because I was not fully confident that I will be able to pull it off after the magic of the salon blower expires. It turns out to be true. Reactions of the people I know were mixed. “Omg! You cut your hair? I love it!” “It suits you! How I wish I can do the same!” “What happened to your hair?!” “Why did you cut it?” “What are you doing with your life?” (Oo besh may ganun nagtanong, “Ano ginagawa mo sa buhay mo?”)

How did my family react to it? My brother - no comment. My mother - at first she was confused as to why I would cut my hair very short but she eventually accepted my decision. After months of having my pixie, she also got the same hairdo. Idol talaga ako ng nanay ko. ‘Di bale idol ko din naman siya. My father - he did not like it. He thought I looked like a “tomboy” in Filipino context. Jake Zyrus ganorn daw. Even my relatives from the province was not a fan of it especially the titas. I still love them, but I was on the verge of blaming the culture for what it has imposed on women with short hair and glorifying those with long ones. But I said to myself, WHATEVER. 

That is when it hit me. 

That is how it feels when you defy the norms without actually violating any rules. Cliché man pero EMPOWERED tayo mga mamshies. It was following my heart’s desire without compromising my faith and principles nor any relationship. It was a great leap for me - doing something new and beyond my comfort zone.

It reminded me of the day I put my life in the hands of the Lord. Many people would say it is very risky and scientifically unstable based on human calculations, but never in my entire life did I feel like I have done the right-est thing until I have surrendered everything to Him.

2. 2nd Pair of Lobe and Helix Piercing

The second thing I will talk about is indeed RISKY. I admit that I have compromised few of my principles and relationships here. Example would be the promise to keep the body pure for it is the temple of the Holy Spirit, which means that having tattoos or cuts/wounds do not make the Lord pleased. Also, because I am an educator who is to be a role model in the academic institution, I must not have gotten a piercing that could push my students to do the same which obviously is not allowed in school.

Second best question is do I regret getting those piercings? Kind of. I am not the type of person who breaks the rules because I detest any form of hassle if it can be avoided. Now, having these piercings is so hassle when I am at work because they have to be removed then put on again at night to make sure the holes do not close.

Hassle talaga, mga besh. Wala eh. Priorities. I love my work more than my nice earrings and piercings.

Kathryn Bernardo made me get the piercings. Haaayy. I still love her though.

Do I recommend piercing? Yes, one pair only for girls. For boys, nah.

But to those who are wondering where I got them (hehe), I’ve had my first pair of lobe since I was a child. I don’t exactly remember where I got them. My second lobe piercings are from Unisilver which used an ear gun. It was more painful compared to needle piercing. My helix piercing was done by Iggy Boy Palma, a professional tattoo and piercing artist, at Whiplash Tattoo in BF Aguirre. Popular question: Which is safer and less painful? Definitely, needle piercing. I give it a 2/10 level of pain.

3. Bleaching my Hair

It was only this December that I finally decided to give my grown pixie a new look. I had the back part trimmed and gave in to the highlights club. At first, I was troubled by how it looked like after having it bleached. IT WAS SUPER LIGHT AND BRIGHT #ManokNaDilaw (yellowish orange). I got nervous because it looked bad on me, and I do not want to be called out again for another violation. So, I had the stylist layer the color with another coating which is gray.

Many people have asked how it was done. Let me share with you how simple it was. First, the stylist tied my hair in half pony tail. The loose part (untied) was the one that got bleached and colored gray. Finally, if you put the pony down, the light dye will be covered but is partially seen which is actually the idea of the style.

Was I happy about it? SUPER. I think this hairstyle is actually cool-subtle kind of rebel. It is not loud obvious, but it shows and stands out. Thank you, Pinterest.

Do I recommend it being done in a salon? Yes! Less hassle, and the stylists know better. However, if you have been coloring your own hair for years now, I guess you could do a DIY not to mention that it will be cheaper.

4. Getting Darker

What is wrong with being dark? NOTHING. But is there something wrong? Yes, many in this country believe that those who are fairer look better. Am I angry? No, but I am sad. Ganda ko kaya, char.

This year, I was blessed to have visited Boracay with my church friend. Despite it being crowded, it was a real paradise (Kala ko nga nasa abroad ako eh puro foreigners legit). The white sand was so fine just like flour. During the trip, I did bring with me sunscreen but not to make myself not get dark but to avoid sunburn. Yes. I was super ready to dive into the sea and just get all that rays on sunshine on my skin. When going on a beach trip, getting a tan is a must. I think tan looks pretty. To cut the long story short, I got darker intentionally lol.

Why is this a risk? I believe I have never been as dark as that in the past four years. After some time, our family went to our province in Quezon. Many of our relatives were like, “Ang itim mo!” “You got dark!” (Ano pa po? Keep it coming!) Well, it’s true, but what is saddening is the facial expressions that accompanied their remarks. Am I mad? Of course, not! It is a risk I do not regret at all. I do not mind getting dark as long as I get dark while on a beach trip and not here in Manila heat.

5. A New Work Responsibility

Now is some serious talk. (Kabado me sa part na ituu) What has changed this academic year for me? First, I got new additional tasks that are more challenging. Second, I am advising both students and teachers already. Third, I’m doing OTs again.

What exactly is this that I am talking about? It’s hard to explain, but let me put it this way. I used to be just an extra in a scene. Now, I am a some sort of a minor character who is tasked to help the protagonist achieve the goal and slay the enemies.

Am I happy about the opportunity? BIG YES. Is it mostly fun doing the job? No (nako nako talaga). There are more emotional heartbreaks, mental breakdowns, and sleepless nights. I have learned things in a not so easy way like how words could mean differently to the company and to the customer and how honest and transparent I must be to our clients. There were moments when I think I knew better, and it was so difficult to submit to authority. In those times, I was able to prove again that only God will remain consistent by my side. He is my constant help and supporter who encouraged me to choose what is right rather than what is convenient.

Did this opportunity put me in a better situation? Triple yes. I admit that the journey is an uphil climb. There is absolutely zero shortcuts (hirap kung hirap mga kapatid). However, God surrounded me with people who helped me mature, be graceful under pressure, control my emotions, laugh despite the hurt, and clearly see the beauty of being a teacher.

To end this post, I would like to just praise the God Almighty for His faithfulness in our lives. Getting through the 365 days is no joke. There were nights I thought of not going to work the next day because I had so many doubts and insecurities. Fortunately, I have only had one absence because I was sick. It was an ironman race to finish 2019. There were several curves and confusing directions which stressed me so much. Even though it was exhausting and tempting to give up, God pushed me to not stop moving until the end of the race (which of course I have not reached yet).

My 2019 is not as extravagant or controversially interesting as others’, but what I can say is that in those motivating experiences that happened in my year, I have earned a bigger faith in Him.

warning: word vomit ahead

food — my palate’s very.... chinese / north asian so most of my recs will be around those flavours (also bc i’m not very good with recommending indian / malay cuisines but i’ve listed blogs below you can search from....)

hawker centres are a huge deal. among the many places, i’d rec:

maxwell food centre 1, 2 my favourites there are the Hainanese Curry Rice — the crispy pork chop is addictive, Popo & Nana’s because it’s not a common hawker cuisine and they’re really homely / hearty meals, Fu Shun for roast meats — my personal golden trio is always roast duck, char siew and sio bak (crispy pork belly)

hong lim food centre has a couple of stalls that have been awarded the michelin bib gourmand. if i could only rec 2 things to try, it’d be the tai wah minced pork noodles (mee kia noodles are the way to go ) and this stall called cantonese delights — i go wild and get the laksa yong tau foo + fried chicken because laksa is not adventurous enough ahaha

other hawker favourites: oyster omelette (it’s hard to find one that has the right amount of crisp without being too starchy, so i swear by this hawker, they’re in a accessible location but not the most central), hokkien mee, carrot cake, kway chap — u can get some of these at newtown food centre which is a very touristy place for local food, just be careful with seafood orders as you wouldn’t want a surprise trap :x

tips: both locations are very near many offices so i say walk around chinatown in the morning and go for a early lunch ~11.30am. because all are very awesome places, they may sell out on certain things by afternoon...

it’s also not uncommon to use ur belongings to “reserve” a table, esp during lunch hr. people either grab seats by putting tissue packets on the entire table or leaving cards on the seats — it’s normal to do that at a hawker centre.

zi char is a huge part of sg’s food culture, it’s called 煮炒 which lol, literally means cook / fry. but it’s basically a place where you order sharing dishes, each zi char place usually has a couple of signature dishes as their claim to fame. these are some of the most famous ones here: kok sen, tian wai tian (swear by their prawns + egg tofu in this chilli crab sauce like gravy), uncle leong (chilli crab!!!!!! they’re a good alternative to jumbo seafood and a little more merciful on the wallet).

tips: zi char places are usually open at night, and they get crowded through the weekends. try reserving a table if you can or you might need to wait for long. the other trick is to turn up early or a lot later than usual dinner time.

cafes — there are so many in singapore now, but here are some of my favourites 

the glasshouse my go-to for iced white + oat milk, their toasts are also pretty good!,

curious palette food’s ok but it’s their cold brew - white magic - mind-blowing!!!!!! also has the potential to keep you up till 4am lol),

nylon coffee remains one of the best coffees i’ve had, they don’t serve food,

oriole coffee cold brew is awesome, also has this signature called death by cream love it!!!,

old hen coffee i used to buy their white cold brew by 1/2 dozens per visit lol,

bundt by the backyard bakers fckin awesome cookies and coffee, i walked there every other day when i worked around the area. seating is really limited, it’s really more of a grab and go walk somemore place...,

ps cafe they’re well known for truffle fries and their sticky date pudding, a bit mainstream regular cafe food with some asian twists but my all-time fave is their club sandwich — literally who cares if they’re mainstream if they serve that.

honorary food mention: two men bagel house bc fck, best mutated versions of a bagel burger cross i’ve had.

given our hawker culture, cafes are not cheap at all but these are some of the places are worth a visit and are quite accessible. if you’re looking to do more research on food, you can try ieatishootipost (more old sch recs) and burpple (as chosen by young people).

shopping — is secondary lol, but you could see if your trip coincides with public garden, check out the national gallery, walk around chinatown / little india / haji lane / marina bay sands, visit gardens by the bay (they have a hawker area nearby called satay by the bay — and ofc, u then need to try satay which is grilled meat skewers with peanut sauce), visit don don donki if you like browsing in hypermarts bc there are lots of things to look at, the cooked food section is good enough to mesmerise..... it’s a bit lame like why a japanese % store in sg but it’s really fun!!!! also u can pack sashimi back or desserts or cooked snacks back for supper  🤤

we’re a concrete jungle so more often than not, shopping’s usually in malls — if you’re interested in designer brands, you can check out DSM but that’s pretty much all there is there, and a couple of expensive places to eat (you can try PS Cafe there too).

My maternal grandmother has shared very little because she seems to think being private is like a badge of honor. She was in love once in college, but her parents ruined it and he let go and moved on. She never did. She ended up “settling” for my grandpa -- who was an awesome guy. She just wasn’t really in love, she did it because that’s who her parents wanted.

the character i least understand: nah i understand them all weirdly well. altho i find that ben is so chaotic (he’s the wildcard) that he makes some decisions that leave me (and most people) like ????. i don’t consider it bad writing either, it’s obvious that ben is severely unstable. oh and also i had a little trouble understanding jack’s motivations& decision making processes, etc, until i realised that fucker ain’t neurotypical

interactions i enjoyed the most: oh wow there’s like forty bagillion characters in this show, i could never pick… hurley with anyone, miles with anyone, dan + char (they were their best around each other), kate and claire, dan + des, charlie + des, jack + kate for the most part, sayid with anyone, ben and locke

my ship that never sailed: charles/hank and kurt/ororo. but again, i’ll see what they do with dark phoenix. but there’s apparently no happily ever after hahaha!!! (logan 2017 was a great movie but oh my gosh fuck logan 2017)
