WHOA??? BABY’S FIRST ART CHALLENGEEE!!!

Coming from ActuallyRae’s ActuallyInfected challenge, I saw the prompt list and IMMEDIATELY thought of the pharmacity AU I’ve been nuts over for the past month. Today’s prompt was Ink Bleed and includes @daily-airimomoi-vitamins ‘s pharmacist!

Majority of my entries WILL BE BELOW CUTOFF FOR GORE/GENERAL HORROR WARNING!!! VIEW AT YOUR OWN RISK

I’ve ironically never actually played with markers- so this was definitely a new experience! I wanted something that would fit on both sides- so I chose majority red flowers for the blood spots that would later show on Airi on the other side!

I also. very quickly realized my mistake of using printer paper. I was afraid the ink wouldn’t bleed through otherwise since most if not ALL of my sketchbooks ARE BUILT TO PREVENT THAT!!! and I still need these fancy ahh markers for school lmaooo

Nevertheless, I’m happy with how this one turned out! Especially the purple/red on either side, feels like it reallyyyy adds to the gore. Maybe that’s just me though!

My username is inspired by an old hyperfixation on Minecraft YouTubers and, obviously, tardigrades. A blue tardigrade with only 6 legs is my personal mascot, representing some of my personality traits. (I have a knitted tardigrade plush and a crocheted tardigrade plush)

I'll post whenever I feel like it, usually something about Hypmic or my creations. I'm a Nintendo gaming nerd who likes to imagine crossovers with my biggest interests. (Writes crossover ideas but never posts them 'cause I wanna put my ideas into drawings or crafts first) But I think it's also good to know that I love bugs! Entomology for the win, haha!

I'm a hobby artist (traditional only). 🎨 I mostly use multimedia paper (Canson imagine mix media) with alcohol markers (Ohuhu, Copic), fineliners, brush pens and manga pens like G-Pen and Maru-Pen. I also like to craft things (Papercraft, etc)

Hello Everyone!

I'm Back With Another REDRAW!

While look for some inspiration on what to draw I was looking through my old sketch book and one of the drawings was a winnie the pooh with friends

The first drawing on the top was back in 2019 it was around the time I was first using alcohol markers I did really know anything about blending shading so I was kinda just coloring I still think it's cute and really shows how much I've gotten better since than 😁

The second draw in the middle I did back in 2021 and what a improvement! my favourite part of the drawing was was eeyore he looks so cute and considering this was my second time drawing him as you can see I did get used to using markers a little bit although winnie the pooh does a bit too much shading on his face he still looks really cute over time my markers did fade little bit overtime so I hope you don't mind that... 😅

Now onto today's redraw as you can see I've improved a lot since than for this draw I use colored pencils and ohuhu alcohol based markers I think this REDRAW is super adorable I've gotten so much better at my sizes since than as you can also see I used the same pose for this drawing as I did the original back in 2021 the only thing I have to complain about this drawing is the spacing I wish I would've drew it a little more to the right that way you can see eeyore and tigger's tail other than that it's for sure one of my favourite redraws

What are your rules for art requests?

Well, young padawan! I have a post for that too! She’s an oldie but a goodie!

What stationary/devices do you use for art?

For traditional art; I would have children with my Micron 0.5 if I could, she is beautiful, she is wonderful, she has never let me down and never will. I use Bic mechanical pencils, the ones you buy in like a pack of 20 and I use Ohuhu alcohol markers that I’ve had for over 3 years now.

For digital art; I have a mint-colored Wacom Intuos that I have both verbally degraded and kissed before. I use Gimp as my software at the moment but I’m eyeballing procreate with some serious heart eyes.

What fandoms are you familiar with?

When it comes to art requests all I need is a picture and a name of the character you want me to draw, but! I think it’s important to list which fandoms I’m quite familiar with/in! :D So here goes; Good Omens, MHA, Ghibli Studios, FNAF, Animal Crossing, Portal, Hogwarts Legacy (and roughly HP universe based on movies, no books), Marvel (*cough* especially anything Spider-Man), Gravity Falls, Poppy Playtime, and ALOT more. I just mentioned stuff I know is popping off right now. Of course, I'm not a monster; crossovers are allowed and encouraged :D

i know uve been asked dis a laaawt but... what sketchbook n watercolor/markers(?) do u use... i love ur lil colors on sketchbokk but i cant find any that work...!

For coloring i do in sketchbook i mostly use water based markers! Ohuhu has some brush tip ones i got for 20 dollops and this is mainly what i use, sometimes I use alcohol markers but its rare because i find it hard to creatively cover up the bleed through on the next page, and ive recently been using tooliart acrylic paint pens as well ^_^

“You’ve lived a long enough life to know things and know how the world works, but sometimes those things change over time, so you have to adapt. Some things can stay the same and it’s fine, but some things the world does changes as the years go by. And no matter how used to those things you are, you have to change. I’ve changed a lot in my time alive, and that’s not really a bad thing, both for the better and the worst, I’ve never been static in how I’ve been as a person. I’ve never wanted to be a static person, and now that I’m finally going to have an end, have a time where I can finally die. I look back at all the things I’ve done, at all the times I’ve changed, and I’m fine with where I’ve ended and where I began. From the love to the deaths. I’m better for them all.”

“You know.” Christopher’s voice was light, a chuckle in his voice as well as he sets out everyone’s dinner for the evening. “There was a time a few centuries ago, I’m trying to remember if it was the time I was pretending to be royalty, or when I was, but either way I’m pretty sure these would have gone the same way. I was trying to have a caaaaaaaalm discussion with this other person who was apart of the court as well, some rich prick who never had to work a day in his life. We were talking about affordability of something in the medical field, the non-magic medical field I might add, which was just much worse at the time. But I was bringing up all these points, in a calm manner, because I’m civil if anything.” His twin snorts, he glares at her.

“Sometimes at least. But I get through all of this, he just goes on and on about something that hardly matters, just trying to get off the topic or something, I butt in saying something back on topic. Man gets angry because Oh he’s never been interrupted in his life.” Christopher grins. “He punches me in the face.” He laughs.

“I’ve watched this city grow from nothing but a small fishing village, Helimire came to light in a time where I feel like it was needed, and if it had happened any later or any earlier, I don’t think it would be the same city it is today. Not the same scale, and not the same importance. And I’m so happy I came into its area when I did, because I honestly could not tell a single soul where I’d be right now, if I hadn’t found this little fishing village that turned into my most prized possession.”

Christopher sits himself down on the large blanket, large enough for five grown men. He feels warm all over and leans back against one of them, who grins cheekily at the others and wraps Christopher up in his arms.

“So.” Ilias is the one to speak first, the same grin on his face he always has as he looks at Christopher in Vitalis’ arms. “How did you make up this place as a... home for all of us?” He nods around to the little overgrown area, soft with moss and covered with pretty flowers that Vitalis planted when they first got here so long before the next person showed up.

“I never really knew what I’d want when I finally died, I didn’t know if I wanted to go back to where I grew up, in a place that was like a palace that resembles Helimire’s council building, or a place of my own. Finally towards the end, I finally decided I wanted a place of my own, but I also wanted it to be a place where all my loved ones would be comfortable. So I let things shift ever so slightly as time went on, before I died, to let you all influence what it is. And. I really love how it is, how it turned out. There’s something for everyone here and I think this was the best option for everyone. And we can still visit where I was first raised, and that’s... that’s all that matters to me, now.”

Do you have certain materials you prefer? Like a certain type of paper, pens, etc.?

If you’re practicing, use the cheap crap! Use printer paper and ballpoint pens and RoseArt and Reeves! Always practice with the cheap stuff and save the good quality materials for when you know what you’re doing. For stuff I prefer for myself now... Paper. When working in sketchbooks I really like Canson Mix Media. It has some tooth to it and I really like that. I also work a lot with markers and it holds up to them really well. I have Strathmore Mixed Media books, too, but they’re really smooth and I’m not very fond of that. Seems like it would be better for blending, but I always feel like the pencil or ink is going to smear or feather. For comic book paper I really like Canson as well. Doesn’t bleed, doesn’t feather, I just wish it had some more layout markers. (Though I can just do that with a ruler.) Pencils! Been using Prismacolor Col-Erase for a long while now, usually in Light Blue and Carmine Red. Please note that Carmine Red doesn’t erase well and is kinda a pain in the butt. I used to draw in Non-Photo Blue, but it was too light when I was inking and I’d have a hard time seeing my sketch and scanners would still pick it up. If I’m doing warm-ups, thumbnails, or just sketches I’ll use anything. Normal pencils, ball-point pens. Anything. Pens. For inking I usually go for Sakura Micron. Comes in a bunch of sizes and I go through them like candy. They can handle a decent amount of work, have pretty durable nibs as long as you’re not stabbing the paper. I also like their brush pens for filling in. I used to use Copics as well for inking, but they were too expensive to upkeep and I  didn’t really like how they felt. (I had the metal ones that you could refill. Heavy pens.) I also used to use Stabilo and I kinda hated them. Did my first comic with them and it looks like shit. Feels like holding a pencil, though. I might try them again now that I know how to use pens better, but for now I’ll stick with Sakura. Oh! I also use Sakura Gelly Roll for white ink, but I’m not super fond of it. I just need it for fixing mistakes. I’ll look for a better white ink pen later. Markers! If you wanna get into markers, use Ohuhu. They’re cheap, they dry out in a year, and they come in a ton of colors. Good to practice with. Right now I use Copic Sketch and I like them a lot. I have some that have dried out too soon, so I might try to revive them again, but overall I like them. They blend nicely, they don’t usually feather or bleed too bad, they come in a verity of colors. I like them. I’ve also used Faber-Castell, they’re okay. I’m not really fond of them. They never seem to dry out which is nice. Don’t blend very well, but that may just be me. Sharpie I hate. Never got the hang of them. Hate the smell, hate the colors, I don’t like Sharpie. I know other people that can make them work, though, so that’s definitely me. Other art stuff! I use Mod Podge to glue things, usually paper to whatever I messed up on so I can re-draw it. Bad idea. don’t use Mod Podge to glue things. Coloring over it will also make it look weird. Get a quark-back metal ruler. Keeps the ruler from slipping around. I have a cheap glove-thing I got for free when I bought a tablet to cover my hand and keep me from smearing stuff. I used to have a SmudgeGuard brand one, but the elastic gave out on it and for some reason the woman who ran the store didn’t believe I had small hands so she sent me the wrong size with a letter that an adult can’t have hands that size. I may try to sew my own one day. But it does keep the pencil and whatnot from getting messy.  Computer stuff?? For taking photos and posting them to Insta, I use SnapSeed for fixing contrast and white-balance issues and LINE Camera for editing out stuff like eraser dust or little things like that. For digital art I use Photoshop CS6 and a really out-of-date version of GIMP. Like, so old. Super old. I don’t actually have a scanner and haven’t for a long time now, so I can’t really do any digital art. I’d like to get back into it, but I’m also VERY rusty. I never draw digitally and I should really try to get better at that. I want to try out Clip Studio Paint, but that’s a bit expensive for something I don’t know if I’ll like so maybe I’ll use their free trial. Drawing tablets I’ve used have been a Wacom Graphire3. From 2004. It was a good little tablet until it died. I have a little Wacom Intuos. It has a giant scratch on the surface, but it works fine. If I do any digital art, I usually do it with that. I also have a Huion Kamvas GT156HD. I hate it. It worked properly once and never again. The wires are a pain in the ass, setting it up is even MORE of a pain in the ass. It’s constantly running in the background for no reason, the pens can’t hold a charge, and it freaks out if you have drivers for other tablets installed. No matter how many times I uninstall and reinstall drivers it never works right. It’s a pain to change pen settings, I just hate it. Haven’t used it for two years or so, it was a huge waste of money.
