Viewing all phineas and ferb characters as autistic is so nice because you rarely see a range of personality types with autistic characters in the same show
#i know its not canon but#seeing the show this way makes me happy#you have isabella whos learnt to mask#baljeet who represents rigid thinking and ‘comorbid’ conditions growing up autistic can foster like anxiety and ocd#candace who’s not the kind of autistic rep you ever get to see#doof who’s an example of an undiagnosed adult managing his symptoms and past traumas w being autistic day by day#and its not always easy or fun but he’s managing. hes got this far.#and then buford and maybe im projecting but i dont care#an nd child who is mean and nasty and bad at traditional education but also has deph and hidden talents they cant express in traditional way#s and who feels trapped in the role society has assigned them and so plays up to ut because fitting in as the bad guy is better than feeling#lost#and then phineas and ferb are the crowning jewel#just like their characters in general they’re less characters and more concepts to make probects and deliver the themes of the show#and they represent our creativity and how wonderful different ways of looking at the world are#everyone loves them and appreciates their talents#and candace only seems to try and bust them because its what shes ‘supposed’ to do#because even though what phineas and ferb are doing is amazing its not ‘normal’ and so somehow embarassing and bad to her?#and shes just. blatantly in the wrong for this
