Victorian Kitchens
A few key elements of a Victorian kitchen are the icebox and china cabinets. A Victorian icebox was typically made from oak with zinc door lining and tin shelving. Metal was a good conductor of heat, but oak kept the interior cool. Hoosier cabinets, which were popular in the early 1900s, consist of lower cabinets with a bar for preparing food. The same cabinets were also often used as pie safes and Welsh dressers. However, china cabinets did not make a very common appearance in Victorian kitchens.
Why Victorian-style kitchen design is making a comeback in 2023!
Gleaming beyond modernity, kitchens of the Victorian age make a stylish comeback. From intricate detail accents to awe-inspiring designs, its elegance brings a certain richness that no other kitchen design can rival.
By fusing classic charm with contemporary style, Victorian-style kitchens add pizzazz to any home. Whether it’s timeless lighting fixtures or elegant furniture pieces, they offer an air of grandeur unmatched by today’s popular trends.
They are designed with function in mind and feature thoughtful elements such as exposed brick walls and granite countertops – adding extra shine to every corner of your room.
The cabinets give a sense of warmth, complete with an old-world touch thanks to distinctive detailing like ornamental carvings on woodwork and unique knobs for drawers and cupboards. Adding customized colours amps up the appeal even further!
Not only does it look impeccable, but these leitmotifs also work with functionality – making them not just attractive but practical as well.
From islands for extra food prep space to deep-basin sinks integrated for maximum convenience, smart design solutions create constant flexibility in use. No feature is ever wasted – from open shelves to charming breakfast nooks – all serve a purpose while being within easy reach.
Victorian-style kitchens check off both form and function without missing a beat – marrying classic beauty with cutting-edge innovation! The ingenuity behind this particular style makes a statement all its own – blending modern-day intricacies with historic nuances to create ‘the’ fashionable culinary experience of the 21st century!
Plus, no need for renovation headaches: Existing utility lines can be rerouted quickly and painlessly during installation which means your time going back and forth is practically nonexistent!
This inspired transformation speaks boldly without being overdone – conveying a rare blend of sophistication that set today’s homes apart from their pastel counterparts of the past. If you are looking for something fresh yet timeless, then opulent Victoriana is definitely what you want in your life! So go ahead, try something new and join the Kitchen revolution today!
Learn how to transform kitchens from modern to Victorian style in no time.
As we all know, a few key elements of a Victorian kitchen are the icebox and china cabinets.
The traditional Victorian icebox was made from oak, with zinc door lining and tin shelving. The use of metal was a good conductor of heat, but oak kept the interior cool.
Likewise, Hoosier cabinets were a popular trend in early 1900s kitchens. They consist of lower cabinets which featured a handy bar area for preparing food, which could also be used as pie safes or Welsh dressers.
However, it is worth noting that china cabinets were not usually seen in Victorian kitchens so if you want to add one, it would be an additional feature with some added expense and effort.
When choosing colours for your walls in a Victorian theme kitchen be sure to go for muted tones such as pink and yellow. These colours will give off an inviting welcome without being too invasive like darker wall colours might tend to do! Adding patterned wallpaper on one wall will create depth and contrast which helps give this era style its charm and uniqueness.
Picking furniture should carry continued influence from the same muted tones with classic designs: Farmhouse dining table, chairs with soft fading fabrics or detailed dark leather armchairs are ideal options here. If going for wooden pieces then make sure they have ornate detailing to set off the look of the kitchen nicely. Don’t forget about choosing the right accessories – copper items like pans and pots can really finish off the setting helping give it an authentic feel! Finally, if practicality is what you need then try installing double-sink units and larger ovens than usual to ensure maximum efficiency when cooking up dinner parties for friends or family gatherings – these may not be selected specifically for their Victoriana design elements but they will help open up space within your meal preparation area creating ease whilst utilizing this new décor scheme!
Hoosier cabinets
During the early twentieth century, a company named Sellers made these Hoosier cabinets, which were also known for their many accessories. These features included ant-proof canisters, an automatic lowering flour bin, and a dust-proof base top. Though Hoosier cabinets were popular throughout the twentieth century, they were not widely produced during the Great Depression. Today, many Victorians are renovating their homes with Hoosier cabinets in order to preserve and enhance their Victorian kitchens.
China cabinets
There are many different styles of china cabinets. There are traditional Chinese-style cabinets, as well as modern versions. Victorian cabinets are the most common type of cabinet, but you can also find them in Edwardian and Georgian styles. In general, these cabinets are more minimalistic than contemporary versions, and they can be found in white or solid wood. If you want a more modern look for your Victorian kitchen, you should opt for a more contemporary style.
Stone slab
Choosing a stone slab for your new kitchen counter can be an excellent investment. Many stone yards have a one-stop shop for everything you need, from cutting sinkholes to shaping edges. There are also some retailers that sell only stone slabs and refer you to a fabricator for cutting and fitting the countertop. A stone slab is distinctive and requires minimal maintenance. If you have a scratch or stain, a stone restorer can repair it or even remove it with a poultice.
Wood duckboards
The floor covering in Victorian kitchens was generally stone slabs or unglazed tiles. Wooden duckboards were used around the table, where food was prepared and cooked. The floors in Victorian kitchens were not basement levels, which made them particularly noisy, but the duckboards served a practical purpose and provided a space for storage. The floors did not get stained or tarnished, and they could be easily cleaned.
Iceboxes
The use of iceboxes is not new, but the technology isn’t. Victorian kitchens were built with zinc or tin-lined compartments that circulated cool air downward to keep food cold. Raw meats and milk were kept in lower compartments while fresh fruits and vegetables were placed on the top shelf. Victorian iceboxes were not designed to allow children to touch the food in the icebox.
Unglazed tiles
Unglazed tiles are a popular choice for kitchens. Victorian kitchens were often designed with unglazed tiles in functional areas. These tiles were generally pale in colour, to reflect light and show dirt in rooms that needed to be hygienic. They are also inexpensive compared to glazed tiles. Many Victorian kitchens were also decorated with decorative embossed tiles over the floor. The tiles were often made of red clay and alternating red and blue-black.
Wooden dado
The wooden dado of Victorian kitchens is often topped with a picture rail, which gives the wall a dedicated display area above the ceiling. In bigger properties, plaster frieze was also commonplace. The invention of fibrous plaster and sheets of hessian gave plasterwork a whole new dimension. It was commonly used to hang pictures. The ideal finished height for all three components of the dado is 1.1 metres.
Wooden wainscot
There are many ways to make your Victorian kitchen look authentic, from the wood panelling to the wainscot. One of these ways is to find antique items from the Victorian era. These items are often found in trade markets and flea markets, and they are inexpensive and can be added to the room. You may also consider adding wainscoting to the bottom half of your wall. This panelling typically features grooves and is white or brown.
Wooden duckboards
Wooden duckboards were commonplace in Victorian kitchens and accentuated the style of the room. These pieces were often found above the kitchen table, but they are now largely replaced by a central island. A key thing to remember when choosing a Victorian kitchen island is that it must look like a table, so use fake legs. In addition, Victorian kitchen cabinets should not look built in. However, this is not to say that they should be painted in a colour other than white. Victorian kitchens often featured three or four different finishes, so mix and match colours and styles to create the illusion of freestanding cabinetry.

Frequently Asked Questions
What layout is most functional for a kitchen?
An island is the best kitchen layout. It can be equipped with a stove, refrigerator, microwave, sink and dishwasher. An island-shaped layout is best for kitchen design.
What should you do first when remodeling your kitchen?
There is no single solution to this question, as everyone has different priorities. Consider the space’s layout, what appliances you need, how many cabinets you need, and your storage needs.
After you have decided on the essentials, you can start looking at various kitchen designs to see which options are available. If you’re working with a limited budget, it’s often best to start with the big-ticket items like appliances and cabinets, then fill in with minor details like paint colours and light fixtures.
You can make your kitchen remodel exactly what you want by taking things one at a time.
How do you figure your budget for a kitchen remodeling project?
To help you budget, here are some guidelines:
The first step is to estimate the cost of materials you will need for your remodel. These include countertops, tiles, countertops, cabinetry and paint.
Look into the average cost to labor in your community. Add this figure to your overall budget.
Add the total dollar value of all the materials and labor needed to complete your project. Divide that number with the square footage of your kitchen. This gives you the estimated cost of each square foot.
Add the savings you anticipate from doing some DIY work or purchasing materials at discounted prices.
To cover any unforeseen costs, consider adding a contingency rate of 10 to 20%.
Keep in mind that these are only estimates. Talk to a professional contractor for a more precise estimate on your kitchen remodeling budget.
This will allow you to develop a budget that fits your kitchen renovation. The cost of your kitchen remodel will vary depending on how much you spend, what materials are used, and other factors.
Can a stove and refrigerator be side by side?
If there is enough room for both appliances, they can be placed side-by-side. This isn’t a good practice for kitchen design. This can lead to wasted space and cramped kitchens. Having the stove and refrigerator placed in different kitchen areas is much better. This will allow for more efficient workflow and make the kitchen feel larger.
What countertops go best with white kitchen cabinets?
If you have a white kitchen, you can make your countertop stand out. Quartz countertops are now the norm in kitchen design. Here are some top suggestions for colors that will work well in white kitchens with quartz countertops:
Concrete grey in different shades
Bold Granite-like Designs
Veiny marble-like designs
Bright, striking colours such as ocean blue or sunflower yellow are great options.
Which pots and pans should be placed in the kitchen’s cupboards?
Pots or pans are best stored above the stove in a cabinet. This allows them to be easily accessed when they are needed and helps keep your kitchen clean and clutter-free. A pot rack can also be a great investment to keep your pots and saucepans organized and easily accessible.
What are the steps for remodeling a kitchen?
Plan your kitchen remodel. Decide what you would like to do and how much.
Find a contractor. Compare bids from different contractors to find the one you feel most comfortable.
Demolition. This is the fun part. Rip out the old cabinets, countertops, and appliances.
Installation. Installation.
Finishing touches. You can complete your kitchen remodel by adding finishing touches like new hardware or paint.
Statistics
Your most significant cost investment for a kitchen remodel will usually be cabinets, typically comprising 25 percent of your budget. (hgtv.com)
According to Burgin, some hinges have this feature built-in, but it’s an add-on cost for other models of about $5 retail, adding up to $350 to $500 for an entire kitchen, depending on size. (hgtv.com)
This is rather grim, but according to Business Insider, 12 percent of couples consider getting a divorce while renovating their home! (familyhandyman.com)
It’s a fantastic thing about most home improvement projects: no matter the job. It often seems like the last 20% is the most difficult. (familyhandyman.com)
Experts also recommend setting aside 20 percent of your budget for surprises, including unpleasant demolition discoveries. One is water damage, the electricity that is not up to code, or other budget-spiking gotchas. (hgtv.com)

How To
How to design a beautiful kitchen you’ll love to cook in for years
Kitchen designs should incorporate aesthetics, functionality, and practicality. So that your kitchen is a place you feel at ease, can cook delicious food and entertain friends and family, and where you can unwind after a long day, you should plan carefully.
Here are some tips that will help you plan your dream home.
Determine the layout that best suits your needs. The three most popular kitchen layouts are L-shaped, U-shaped, and galley. L-shaped Kitchens are perfect for entertaining, and can easily hold multiple cooks. U-shaped kitchens are great for families who spend lots of time in the kitchen. There is plenty of storage space and counter space. Galley kitchens can be used in small spaces and are easy to navigate.
Take the time to research all options in cabinetry, and then choose high quality products. There are many choices available, depending on what your budget is. High-end cabinets can pay huge dividends. They will last for a longer time, look better, provide greater protection against temperature and humidity changes, as well as being more durable.
Pick a color scheme to make you happy. No matter what color you like, you can find a color combination that will bring life and color into your kitchen. You can use bright colors or soft pastels. You should make sure it matches your rest of the room.
You should find a balance between beauty and function. The kitchen does not have to be perfect. Sometimes you need more to pay attention to functionality than looks. However, you don’t need to forget about decorative elements. You can create a unique focal point by using a combination of glass, metal, brass, ceramics, stone, wood, and other materials.
Create a comfortable environment. Remember that comfort is the most important thing when designing your kitchen. This space will be used a lot, so it should feel welcoming and comfortable. Add seating areas, lighting fixtures, or other features that will make you feel relaxed after a long work day.
Storage is important. Storage space is essential in a kitchen. It should have enough storage for all your cooking and utensils. When remodeling your kitchen, you should consider adding more cabinet space.
Include a pantry. A pantry is a great way to store and organize food items. A separate pantry will allow you to store more supplies and prevent clutter from building up in your kitchen.
You might consider a new type of flooring. Your kitchen’s overall appearance and feel will be affected by the flooring you choose. There are many options available. To save on transition pieces, you can use the same flooring across the entire house if it is small.
Expansion plan. A lack of space to grow is one of the biggest errors people make when remodeling kitchens. Consider adding another walk-in or sliding closet to expand your countertop space.
You should ensure that there is enough light. It’s the best way to appreciate your kitchen. If you intend to use your kitchen as a gathering place for the family, make sure you let plenty of natural light through your windows.
Energy-efficient appliances are recommended. Remodeling your kitchen should be about energy efficiency. This means you need to replace older appliances with more energy-efficient models.
Be realistic about your budget. Make sure you do an in-depth analysis of your finances before shopping for appliances, cabinets, and other kitchen items. It will help you narrow down the options and save money in the end.
Create a space to entertain. Whether you enjoy hosting dinner parties or entertaining friends over drinks, a designated area for dining will allow your guests to socialize and gather.
An island can be added to your kitchen. A island is a great addition to your kitchen. It provides additional prep and eating space, as well as serving as a place to store beverages, snacks and other small items.

Tumblr media
DAVID A. LAND

It’s where you and your family will spend lots of time, and where your guests will likely end up congregating. It should be a space that feels inviting and relaxing and also delivers the style and personality you want your home to reflect. Do you want a light and airy kitchen? A happy and whimsical space? Or a cozy, rustic kitchen? No matter the look, your starting point should be in establishing the color palette. An all-white kitchen will always be a classic, timeless look, but don’t be afraid to bring in some color, even in a small kitchen. One of the ways to make the biggest impact is to paint your kitchen cabinets. Off-White
When you have a lot of natural wood in your kitchen, pure white walls can feel too stark, especially if you’re going for a rustic kitchen look. Instead, choose a warm white that has just a touch of gray in it for a color that complements wood tones and works well with other warm neutral colors.

There is nothing more timeless, yet completely fresh, than an airy all-white kitchen. Washed Turquoise & Buttery Yellow
To give her kitchen cabinets a slightly weathered look, Jolie Sikes of the Junk Gypsies first coated the cabinets with blue interior oil stain, then used a rag to apply and partially rub off a layer of wood stain. “Embrace color,” says Jolie. “Just because kitchens are utilitarian rooms doesn’t mean they should be quiet, sterile, or boring.” The buttery walls, combined with the natural wood stain on the windows, trim, and beams, create a warm backdrop for the room’s bold cabinetry and accents such as Jolie’s barstool mix—a pair of swiveling red tractor seats plus a vintage vinyl-covered number.

Bright Green
In her South Carolina home, homeowner Lauren Northup looked down for her color play. Taking her color cue from the grass green floors at Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello, she choose to paint the kitchen floors a striking green. “Blues and greens mean rest, home, and happiness to me,” says Lauren. “This color on my kitchen floor is a good balance with the bright white walls and cheerful checked curtains.”

Sky Blue
In their cozy converted schoolhouse project, designers Jason Oliver Nixon and John Loecke of Madcap Cottage looked outside for the kitchen’s color inspiration. They removed the small room’s drop ceiling and installed tongue-and-groove rafters, now swathed in a dreamy shade of sky blue—a design trick seen on Southern porches. “The color draws the eye up,” says Jason, “which makes the room feel like it stretches to the sky.”

maple, harvest, fireside, amber, bonfire, cinnamon, ghost, cocoa (im sending u like half of the questions lmao IM SORRY)
tysm i’m so excited to answer these omg! sorry this is going to be very long bc i love oversharing !!
maple - is there a hobby / skill that you’ve always wanted to try but never did?
i always wanted to dance, especially ballet!!  it’s just so beautiful and takes so much strength and control of your body i would love to be that expressive without having to say anything!!
harvest - what fictional character do you most identify with? Why?
this is an insanely difficult question to answer!!  I think i’m gonna have to go with Zuko from atla, because i feel like the person i’ve grown up to be is very different from what my parents expected me to be and trained me to be, and i love my siblings so much but the competition got...intense sometimes, and i totally based my worth on how good of a job i was doing being the oldest/best sibling in the eyes of family!!  i feel like i have to work so hard to achieve things that come to others naturally and i isolate myself when i’m struggling bc i am always convinced i can/have to solve my problems alone!!  OOF yeah anyway i love zuko because i am also a sad theatre kid with barely concealed rage at the way the universe doesn’t listen to me specifically
fireside - if you had your dream wardrobe, what would it look like?
okay i have two very specific ends of a spectrum:  mostly black very expensive looking athletic clothes/athleisure with an occasional pop of a bright color or a holographic accent, OR white dad on a tropical vacation looks--you know, tacky button ups, socks with sandals, bucket hats, too much tie-dye.  and everything would have functional pockets !!
amber - share an unpopular opinion that you may have.
I don’t understand all the hype about Ratatouille (2007), like, it was an okay movie but like, there are so many other, better movies to make fan musicals of!
bonfire - describe your dream house.
it is my dream to live in a restored pre-1900 farmhouse!  it’ll be set back from the road on like 10 acres, with a big front porch facing west so i can watch the sunset from the porch.  the kitchen will have a good work triangle (meaning it has a gas stove and a large sink) and an island specifically so i can put stools on one side so i never have to eat at a dining room table again.  dark stained trim, hardwood floors, big windows, radiators, a laundry room.  no white walls, i want color (light blues and yellows and greens would look good i think)! i want a little loft or attic that feels like a secret room, and it better have vaulted ceilings!  i love the uniqueness of built-in cabinets so would definitely want one of those probably in the living room? anyway i’d have a screen porch out back with a view out past the creek and it would be a beautiful place to watch the sunrise!
but idk if i will ever be able to afford being a homeowner so :(
cinnamon - if you had to live in a time period different than the present, which would you choose and where?
is it bad that i want to say i solely want to see Epcot in its prime (the 1980s)?  actually i think Renaissance France would have been really cool because of the theatre, ballet, and opera that came out of the Neoclassical movement, and perspectivist staging is absolutely fascinating to me i wanna see it in action!
ghost - is there someone that you miss having in your life?
i miss my college xc teammates so much!  me and vq were especially close and then she graduated and we lost touch and i dont know how to rekindle that friendship now that we have so much distance between us
cocoa - if you could have any type of hair, what colour and cut would you have?
i’ve always wanted to try lavender hair just because i think it’s pretty, and having like, really long lavender hair with an undercut would be very cool, but i know i’d look very good with a fade into short curly/wavy dark hair (and lowkey this has me thinking about cutting my hair oop)
anyway here is more than you ever wanted to know about me!!  i loved answering these so much thank you!!!!

Tumblr media
Hi there, my name is Nicki and I have the privilege of raising four beautiful children with my amazing husband, Asif. We are a family on a journey, in the process of getting from where we are to where we want to be. Our story is rich, filled with both high triumphs and deep dark pits. I have known that we will write about this adventure “someday,” when we have arrived at the place of our dreams, when we have achieved our goals, when we are finally “there.”
BUT, as time goes on, I am realizing that the powerful part of our story is the struggle, the loss, the hopelessness that we have experienced and still are trudging through at times. I once heard that when we tell our own story, no matter how raw or painful it may be, we then get to decide the ending, because we have taken ownership of it. Not telling our story makes us the victim of someone else’s narrative and keeps us stuck. With that in mind, I am choosing to write now, knowing that as a result, I will get to choose the ending. So here goes. . .
First, I want to welcome you into our beautiful home, which I am so grateful for. I really want you to feel like a guest in my home, so please imagine you’re here as I describe it:
My Dream Home
We live on 8 acres of land in a beautiful modern farmhouse with an open floor plan, 5 bedrooms, and 3 bathrooms. The sunlight streams in through our huge windows and we are far enough away from our neighbors that I don’t even have to close the curtains at night. My mostly white kitchen is spacious, with plenty of counter and cupboard space (gorgeous marble counters, to be specific), two ovens that I frequently bake in, and a large fridge filled with healthy food. Together as a family, we care for a flourishing garden, adorable miniature goats, chickens, barn cats and 4 dogs. I love every season in our home. The summers are spent mostly outdoors - in the pool swimming, on the deck grilling and eating, and in the backyard exploring. The fall is full of yard work and playing in leaf piles, followed with campfires in the evenings. The winter is cozy as we cuddle up in our living room by the fireplace and enjoy looking at the beautiful white world outside. And spring is spent planting our garden and cleaning up the yard in anticipation of the summer. We thoroughly enjoy taking care of our home and it is a bright, peaceful and joyful place.
Tumblr media
What I just described here is very, very real in my mind. In my imagination, I experience every nook and cranny of this home: I feel the warm grass under my feet when I’m outside in the summer; I smell the baking of Christmas cookies in my convection oven in December; I hear the joyful sounds of my kids running around, playing freely; I taste the large meal I’ve prepared for our family and the extended family that has come for dinner; and I see the bright, open living space, filled with the furniture and colors that I love: a bit of mid-century modern, mixed with a dash of farmhouse style, sprinkled with turquoise, green and yellow accents. This is My Spacious Place. This is my home.
Tumblr media
Where We Really Live
However, if I were to tell you about where I actually live right now, it is indeed quite far from this vision, this dream. . . no, this PROMISE of a home I just described.
Right now, our family of 6 with our 2 large, high-energy dogs, lives in a tiny, second-story, 1 bedroom apartment with no yard. And in fact, the 1 bedroom doesn’t even have a door on it. Nope, we’ve hung a curtain in the doorway of the room where our 4 children sleep every night. We have no real beds in this apartment, the kids roll out sleeping bag-type pads every night (except for the 2-year-old who is still in a crib) and Asif and I pull out part of our handy Ikea couch to transform it into a “bed.” This room is our “living room” by day and “bedroom” by night.
Tumblr media
Our tiny kitchen has less than 3 feet of real counter space (about 1.5 feet on either side of the sink) that we supplement with more Ikea furniture: 2 mismatched wooden islands against the wall. We eat meals at our small, 15-year-old kitchen table (also from Ikea!) and share one bathroom and a shower. We don’t even have a bath tub for our young kids.
We have a room that used to be some sort of “porch” or maybe a 3-season room at the front of the apartment. It has no heat, but we need every bit of space we can get so we use an electric heater to heat this room in the winter and we endure the heat in the summer. We call it the playroom - it’s where the toys are and it’s also where I homeschool our 3 school-aged children. Thankfully, we have a large attic space where we can store stuff and I actually keep a majority of toys up there, rotating them occasionally to keep it interesting for everyone.
The kids clothes are kept in yet another piece of Ikea furniture, a cube-shaped bookshelf unit. Their clothes are in the boxes that fit into the cubes and that shelf is in the “living room.” Asif’s and my clothes are in a “closet,” that is actually just a section of the bathroom that we installed a couple of bars in for hanging clothes from.
Tumblr media
Walking On Eggshells
Additionally, we live above 2 businesses - one is our own business, Asif’s photography studio, and the other is an architect’s office who has been there for over a decade. He had a very bad relationship with the previous apartment tenant who was a woman with her older daughter and several small “yippie” dogs. She was too loud for him. She, the single woman with a daughter who was in school 5 days a week, who was probably often working herself, was too loud.
And now we live here - we, who have 4 kids under the age of 10 who are pretty much home ALL day. We, who have a 2-year-old who jumps instead of walks to get around. We, a family who is naturally loud when we’re happy and mad, of which both emotions are expressed dozens of times daily between the 6 of us. We, who don’t have several yippie dogs but rather 2 big dogs who love to wrestle in the living room, right above the architect’s office and bark at passing dogs. And to someone working downstairs, apparently even a normal footstep quakes in such a way that whomever is listening can’t help but tense up and anything beyond that makes one think the ceiling is going to collapse.
This man has clients come to his place of business and here we are, where our every-day life is causing him to appear unprofessional. He has banged on the ceiling and yelled multiple times to get our attention, Asif and he have had several tense discussions, and ultimately we know that we need to do whatever it takes to keep everyone quiet. But that’s not easy. So we block off half of our already small apartment every weekday during the architect’s work hours to keep anyone from even walking over the main part of his office. It’s helped keep the peace so far, but we are certainly “walking on eggshells” every. single. weekday.
Tumblr media
What a contrast from the dream home I described at first. Quite the opposite pictures. But do you know what’s crazy?? In the midst of this one-bedroom apartment living situation, I actually find the same peace, joy and brightness that I envision in the promised home that is to come. And believe it or not, I have come to see this as my spacious place.
And what exactly that means, is another post.

Craftsman Kitchens
Tumblr media
When designing a craftsman kitchen, you need to make sure you incorporate elements that can be easily found in a traditional Craftsman home. Subway tile, hardwood floors, window treatments, and custom cabinetry are all good examples of these elements. You might also want to include a bay window, a mail center, or garage storage cabinet. The features you need in a craftsman kitchen are many and varied. So, be sure to find one that fits your personality.
Wood cabinetry
Craftsman kitchen cabinets often have square, straight edges and feature a flat panel or raised panel. They are often accented with period hardware and decorative molding. The joinery used in craftsman kitchen cabinets can be a variety of styles, including butt and miter joints, dovetail joints, and mortise-and-tenon joints. If you’re remodeling an existing home, you may want to opt for a craftsman style kitchen instead of a contemporary one.
Wood cabinetry in craftsman kitchens typically features warm, rich colors, including olive green and muted blue. You may also choose to have the walls sponged to give the room a “handmade” appearance. In contrast, stainless steel appliances can create a classic contrast with the wood cabinetry. Gas stoves from the 1930s or 1940s can also be restored and feature enamel paint or rounded corners. Wood cabinetry and antique hardware are both common in craftsman kitchens.
The wood cabinetry in craftsman kitchens is typically made of a medium wood. The doors can be painted any color, including white. Shaker style door fronts have uncomplicated square panels. Another popular color for craftsman kitchen cabinets is yellow. You can even go for a more subtle distressed finish instead of white. You may also want to consider incorporating glass in the cabinet doors. Alternatively, you can opt for a more neutral tone, such as gray.
Craftsman kitchens tend to emphasize natural stone countertops. Solid wood cabinetry is often paired with marble or granite countertops for a more classic look. Marble countertops also look great with craftsman kitchens. While they don’t have the historical accuracy of wood, natural stone countertops are less expensive and require less maintenance. For countertops, choose a stone that complements both wood and stone. Some popular stone options for craftsman kitchens are soapstone and granite.
Metal accents
When choosing accent pieces for your Craftsman kitchen, remember to choose metals that complement each other and your room’s dominant color. The predominant metal should account for 60-75 percent of finishes in the room. Warm metals have warmer undertones than cool metals, while matte black is neutral and can work well with any other color. Use caution when mixing two very different metals, and make sure your accent pieces are all the same hue.
If you want to make a statement without going overboard, consider adding decorative antique china and metal plant holders. Adding these accents to your kitchen can bring a touch of style and drama to your room. However, keep in mind that these pieces are difficult to install yourself and most people will have to hire professionals to install them. Remember to include these accents in your budget. And, don’t forget to get a Persian rug to complete your look.
If you’re not keen on integrating metal accents into your kitchen design, consider using a traditional farmhouse sink instead. Farmhouse sinks work well with all styles, and a bright white one would instantly spruce up your Craftsman kitchen. While the original hardy wood cabinets may seem sloppy, they may be the work of meticulous craftsmanship. Refinishing built-ins can also bring the look of your craftsman kitchen to the next level.
When incorporating metal accents into your craftsman kitchen, consider how it fits in with the rest of your home’s color scheme. Using contrasting textures adds depth and visual interest. A whitewashed brick wall and traditional island with drawers make this kitchen stand out in a modern space. By using contrasting materials, you can create a craftsman kitchen that matches the rest of your home. And while you’re at it, try to be sure to select a backsplash that complements your theme.
Natural materials
To achieve the authentic look of a craftsman kitchen, natural materials should be used in its interiors. This includes the countertops and flooring. This style often features hardwood floors. Maple and oak are both appropriate woods for a craftsman kitchen. The wood used should be rich and lustrous, never dull. This type of wood is also a great choice for cabinets. Choosing a natural material for your countertops will make a huge difference in the overall look and feel of your kitchen.
Craftsman kitchens often feature a wooden countertop or backsplash, which is ideal for those who like earthy tones. Granite, soapstone, or slate are all examples of natural materials that work well with a craftsman style. When it comes to hardware, choose pieces that reflect the craftsman style while retaining a utilitarian look. Hammered and heavy-duty hardware is the most common type of hardware in craftsman kitchens. Choose chunky styles in warm tones. Avoid metallic hardware and finishes as these can look too modern.
In the kitchen, natural materials are the focus of the craftsman style. Using wood, stone, and tile will help make your craftsman kitchen unique and classic. The simple shapes and clean lines of this style make the space functional as well as beautiful. In addition, you can include built-in bench seating for meals with family and friends. And don’t forget to incorporate natural materials in the design of your countertops. Stainless steel countertops add a contemporary flair to your craftsman kitchen design.
For flooring, slate and artisan glass mosaic tiles are ideal options. Both materials emphasize the natural look of the kitchen and accents. Slate and soapstone countertops are also suitable materials for this style. Slate and granite countertops can be paired with a leaf design for added interest. However, the materials you choose for countertops will depend on your taste and preference. They should be chosen carefully to enhance the overall look of your craftsman kitchen.
Tiffany lamps
To complete your craftsman style kitchen, consider adding one or more Tiffany lamps. These colorful fixtures feature a glass shade made of geometric shapes cut into different colors. These pieces of art make beautiful accents to any kitchen, and they don’t compete with the natural beauty of solid wood cabinetry. However, they may be too overbearing in the space. To get the best lighting effect, consider using different light bulbs.
If you have high ceilings, consider installing pendant lighting. Pendant lighting provides an attractive focal point for breakfast nooks and provides ambient light. You can opt for a Tiffany lamp or a frameless light fixture. To add a touch of modernity, consider refinishing your current fixtures or hiring a trusted contractor. You can even opt for a classic chandelier instead of a traditional kitchen light bulb. If you’re trying to add a touch of character to your room, consider a Tiffany lamp or a bold geometric-styled pendant light.
A traditional Tiffany lamp in your kitchen will look wonderful with your wood cabinets. If your kitchen is made of a lot of wood, opt for a blue base for your lamp, as the warm color will contrast beautifully with your brown countertops. A patterned shade, like the blue in Tiffany lamps, is another good choice. It’s also a great way to add color to your space. The base of the lamp can be any color, and the pendants can be a traditional, or contemporary style.
Wood island
A craftsman kitchen features a wood island to create an inviting, welcoming space. This traditional space has a large center island and is often centered around a central fireplace. To create the perfect Craftsman kitchen, choose materials that are both classic and durable. Wood is the ideal material for a kitchen island because it won’t be prone to dents and scratches. In addition to its beauty, wood is also highly functional, with space for all of your cooking needs.
Craftsman-style kitchens draw inspiration from nature and rarely use synthetic materials. Natural stone is a popular choice for countertops, backsplashes, and flooring. Some types of natural stone include slate, soapstone, and travertine. Each one has its own unique character and adds a touch of class to the space. In addition to its natural beauty, stone works well with a craftsman-style kitchen because it complements the overall design scheme and color palette.
For a more modern look, choose an accent ceiling design with a recessed center area the same size as the island. White walls are accented with varying textures. Wooden beams and skylights add drama to the ceiling and the kitchen island. And if you’re a fan of rustic design, go for an island topped with dark stone. The kitchen island adds a classic touch to the space while adding a contemporary flair.
A Craftsman-style kitchen features a large wooden island that dominates the floor area. The island is topped with black countertops and is complemented by wooden cabinetry. The ceiling is white and has stained glass paneling. White walls and floors also match the wooden structures that surround the island. In the corner, a white marble countertop provides a complementary color scheme to the dark wood accents. A wooden L-shaped peninsula accentuates the island and reflects the kitchen’s shape.

Kitchen Remodel Ideas: 5 Colors That Gives Your Kitchen a Lively Tone
Remember that the perfect color ideas form attraction throughout the area without making it appear claustrophobic when deciding what color to paint your small kitchen.
Tiny kitchens may be customized with warm tones, cool whites, beachy pastels, and bright hues. The color palette should not detract from the cooking and cleaning tasks at hand, and when possible, the colors should link the kitchen to adjacent areas, making small kitchens appear larger.
Before selecting tiny kitchen cabinet finishes, wall colors, fittings, and surfaces consider the vibe you want to create, the natural lighting in the kitchen, and how you may disperse color to create a cohesive impression.
Limit tiny kitchen colors to two or three tones to avoid making your small kitchen design look crowded or excessively busy.
You can try one of these amazing little kitchen remodeling ideas to re-energize your cooking area!
1. Leather Brown, Navy Blue, and Bright White
Even if you have a tiny kitchen, you don't have to avoid dark colors, but you should plan to utilize rich colors wisely. To avoid overpowering a small area, use deep tones sparingly, such as navy blue, and bring contrast with an abundance of brilliant white.
Dark blue is used over the island and select banks of cabinetry in this compact kitchen color design. The effect is bright and fresh when matched with white fixtures and a white subway tile backsplash.
Leather barstools echo the deep brown tone of the wood countertop on the island, providing warmth and character to the space.
2. Robin's Egg Blue, White, and Yellow
This vibrant color scheme expands tiny kitchens and brings up new design choices. White walls, ceilings, and backsplashes reflect light and make the border of a tiny kitchen recede, making the area look larger.
Choose a clean white paint color for the walls and cabinets, then add color with blue powder-coated barstools and displays of lively yellow dishware.
Try painting the closet door or a single cupboard in one of the vibrant colors for a noticeable accent.
3. Off-White, White, and Natural Wood Finishes
If wondering what color to paint your kitchen always takes you to your ideal white kitchen, go for it. Tiny kitchen paint colors don't have to be daring to express a lot of individuality.
Light color kitchen ideas, such as a white-on-white palette, provide the appearance of a larger area. To get a unified design, combine crisp white, buttery white, and gray-toned white finishes.
Choose warm wood cabinets and flooring to warm up white surfaces and make your small kitchen feel more welcoming.
4. Copper, Slate Blue, and Steely Gray
Combine metallic colors to create a tiny kitchen color plan with a contemporary feel. To create a more dynamic effect, vary the hue temperatures across the palette.
Stainless steel and Copper complement each other nicely because they contrast warm and chilly tones.
Build a copper farmhouse sink, hang copper pot racks, or hang copper-shaded pendant lights to add rosy metallic tones. Copper's warmth may be softened with grey worktops, stainless-steel equipment, and slate blue cabinets.
5. White, Black, and Any Color
The high-contrast combination of white and black creates an eye-catching tiny kitchen color scheme. Off-white or white walls broaden perimeters and highlight black-painted or stained cabinetry.
Consider checkerboard flooring or a chevron-patterned backsplash for a more daring effect. White and black kitchen pieces create a neutral backdrop for practically any color of dishware, fixtures, and decorations. Choose a bold color, such as red, that will stand out against the black in your kitchen remodeling.
Conclusion
When you think of kitchen remodeling, the ideal colors for your kitchen are entirely dependent on your own preferences. That being said, if you want a kitchen that will last, you'll need to consider what colors you can live with in the long run.
When deciding on a color for your kitchen, keep in mind the size of your area as well as the amount of natural light you have to work with.
Dark colors should be avoided in tiny kitchens since they have the potential to shrink the area. That is not to imply that darker colors will not work in your room.

Individualistic Home Designs With A Sassy Sense Of Style
A sassy sense of style runs through the two individualistic home designs that we tour here. Our first intriguing home tour takes place in a meticulous restoration of a large 5-bedroom townhouse, which features beautifully restored woodwork, custom details and around 8,000 square feet of light-filled interiors. Colourful artwork and an eclectic furniture collection shape living spaces that draw the eye and excite the mind. The second home design we visit is a loft, located in the historic Gilsey House building in the NoMad neighbourhood of Manhattan. Industrial features hark to its history, whilst bold art pieces, colourful accents and a bespoke staircase design make the loft into a marvellously modern and uplifting home.
Source: Compass
Led by award-winning architect, Jeffery Povero of Povero&Company, this 20ft wide single-family townhouse renovation includes five bedrooms, six bathrooms and immaculately rejuvenated living spaces. Colourful wall art brings the light-flooded lounge to life. Bright scatter cushions and throws colour the sofas, whilst a large area rug adds texture to the floor.
The glorious wooden staircase has been restored, bringing rich warmth to each floor of the townhouse. In the dining room, a multicoloured rug adds a bright contemporary touch by the classic woodwork. A modern dining room chandelier fills the fresh white ceiling space.
The townhouse boasts an interior of approximately 8,000 square feet. An enormous kitchen is blessed with an impressive central island that doubles as a casual dining/breakfast spot.
Industrial style kitchen bar stools line up beneath the clean white corian countertop. Five elegant pendant lights meander above the length of the island.
Grey and white framed kitchen cabinets build a custom look. Two side-by-side 6-burner Wolf ranges and a farmhouse sink place focal points in the arrangement. One small doorway leads into an oversized pantry, whilst French doors lead onto an intimate balcony with a grill and outdoor dining bar that overlooks 5th Avenue.
The entryway features more exquisite woodworking and original dark-wood wainscoting, beneath impressive 12ft high ceilings.
An eclectic furniture collection builds a sophisticated look.
A chestnut brown tufted leather sofa complements a rich wood coffered ceiling in the cosy library/den.
In the corner, a librarian ladder climbs the book stacks. An elegant chair and side table fashion a cosy reading nook.
In the back parlour lounge, wise monkey figurines top a vintage bar that was sourced from an old hotel.
The bar was restored and fitted with new appliances, electrics and plumbing.
The top floor of the five story townhouse contains three of the bedrooms, two bathrooms, a laundry room and a “hidden” office.
A production office is located on the garden level of the home. Streamlined desks, exposed brickwork and industrial style lighting gives this space its own distinctive character from the house.
The property also boasts its own ten seat home theatre.
String lights add a magical twinkle up on the fully furnished roof deck.
A dining area is partially shaded under a wood pergola, whilst the outdoor sofa and chairs bask in the sun.
A Jacuzzi bubbles in a rooftop hideaway.
The master bedroom suite is on the third floor. A small sofa aesthetically matches the upholstered bed. A large bedroom rug holds the arrangement together.
A second bedroom harbours a quirky zoo of ceramic animal heads across the TV wall.
The master bathroom features a double sink bathroom vanity with a luxe Nero Marquina marble countertop.
A custom walk-in closet offers a plethora of clothing and accessory storage options.
2036 Fifth Avenue is located just one block from 125th Street, a vibrant boulevard lined with restaurants and shops.
Architect: Worrell Yeung
We travel next to an apartment located in the historic Gilsey House building, in the NoMad neighbourhood of Manhattan.
During this remodel, all existing walls were removed to highlight the historic windows, original moulding, and steel structure. Now natural sunlight hits clean white walls and vibrant artwork at every turn.
A light grey kitchen provides gentle contrast against the white backdrop.
Henry Le Monnier’s Source Verdier, 1931, makes an eye-catching addition above the stove and a stunning marble backsplash.
A small shelf is integrated into the dramatic marble slab.
The exposed steel structure of the building creates a cool industrial vibe.
A built-in bookcase rises in front of the stairs, creating one connected wooden volume within the open layout.
Sections of the bookcase remain backless to let light and visuals flow through.
The custom staircase design melds smoothly with the bookshelves.
Decorative items break up the book collection.
Bright wall art fashions areas of interest as we move through the loft.
Reclaimed wood doors were salvaged and refurbished to create historical interludes within the minimalistic decor scheme.
Exposed pipes continue the industrial thread throughout the loft, sometimes colourfully highlighted in a playful pink finish.
A home workspace has been created with a bespoke black marble desktop and a lively gallery wall.
Another custom-built bookcase and staircase combo build a cool kid’s space.
This time, cheerful turquoise paintwork colours the shelves and treads. Ash wood floors brighten the space.
A wild black and white decor scheme brings the family bathroom to life. Bold yellow bathroom fixtures further accentuate the fabulous concept.
The floor plan demonstrates how the master bathroom runs off the long dressing area of the master suite. The child’s room has access to the family bathroom just opposite, by the stairs.

Cottage Cozy Kitchen
Designer Whitney McGregor looked to vintage kitchens composed of freestanding furniture for inspiration for the white painted cabinets in her small-space galley kitchen. CorkWood – The Perfect Kitchen Partner
Tumblr media
We demand more from our kitchen than any other room in the house. Kitchen finishes must be hard wearing, functional, easy to clean yet beautiful enough to entertain company. Even though the decorative look of a kitchen has changed, the performance demands have not! That’s why CorkWood, TORLYS latest innovation in cork flooring, delivers on all counts – the beauty of wood, the durability of laminate and the wonderful comfort of cork!
CorkWood has the grain character of wood in a wide colour range, making it a perfect match up for almost any cabinet. Here is a selection of beautiful kitchens with suggestions for high performance CorkWood flooring, paint combinations and decorative detail to make the most of your kitchen. If you are about to start a kitchen renovation, select the kitchen that suits your lifestyle and your design preference. Hopefully our suggestions will inspire and get your reno pointed in the right direction.
CorkWood Flooring : Traditional Elegance
Tall, dark and handsome may not be a common phrase used to describe a kitchen but in this case it works! The cabinet tones are rich, the granite is dramatic and the hammered copper farm sink is perfect. This design can extend from a traditional dining or living space yet still house the functional side of a kitchen.
Two CorkWood styles have been selected as possible flooring options. CorkWood Designer, Briarwood Walnut maintains the rich deep tones of the island cabinet and CorkWood Elite, Windemere Oak compliments the warm honey of the wall cabinets. Both flooring options work, it is just personal preference.
Rich neutral paint tones like AF-876 Alabaster and AF-130 Truffle from Benjamin Moore maintain the warmth of the room.
Oiled bronze hardware, gleaming copper kitchen ware paired with jewel tone pottery add an elegant vintage quality to the space.
CorkWood Flooring : Shades of Gray
Over the last number of years, gray has become one then most popular kitchen neutrals. Gray can add a vintage touch to a country kitchen but also works in a sleek modern space. Our featured kitchen pairs gray with shades of cream and uses texture as a key design element. Rough hewn beams, reclaimed brick backsplash and stone countertops come together to create warmth and charm.
The texture and grain patterns of CorkWood flooring make it a perfect choice for this kitchen. Options include CorkWood Designer Port Royal Walnut for a classic look, or to emphasize the vintage quality CorkWood Designer Fairwinds Oak is a great complement. Both are great choices.
For paint, layers of cream are better than one, try trim with 2145-7 Cotton Balls with walls of Benjamin Moore’s AF-20 Mascarpone and the result will add more depth and character to the kitchen. Finish off the décor with vintage crockery, glass jars and wooden kitchen tools, you can find them at most garage sales or antique markets.
CorkWood Flooring : Farmhouse White
To create the perfect farmhouse kitchen keep your design choices simple, clean and natural. White Shaker style cabinetry, a classic white subway tile backsplash and pewter hardware establish a farmhouse feel. To add country charm combine painted plank or embossed tin ceilings, an enamel sink and vintage inspired appliances. Rustic wood counter tops and flooring will soften the starkness of the white and add natural warmth
The soft comfort and rustic design options of CorkWood flooring make it an ideal choice. For a natural wood tone, CorkWood Designer Morningside Oak or for a grey vintage feel Corkwood Designer’s Eaglecrest Oak is perfect.
To soften all of the white in the room opt for a pastel wall tone, either a buttery yellow like Benjamin Moore’s 2155-60 Cream Yellow or a pale green like Benjamin Moore’s 520 Spring Bud.
A brightly coloured accent rug or pottery piece will add a dash of personality and your own unique charm.

California Fixer-upper
Hi, everyone! How are you today? Spring seems to be miles and miles away from where we live but this recently renovated California Fixer Upper is bringing some happy colors and sunshine to our day.
Here, the designer shares more insight on this beautiful project:
“With the help of McGriff Architects, IDF Studio transformed this single-story Bay Area home into the envy of the block. What was once a dark 1960’s fixer-upper has been completely rebooted as a two-story dream modern farmhouse. The interiors were thoroughly rearranged, introducing a light-filled kitchen, an inviting dining area, and a cozy family room with beautiful built-in storage. The vibe is decidedly boho and beachy, making this family of four feel like they’re on perpetual holiday.”

Inspiring Home Renovation
Hi, my dear friends. How are today? It’s getting really cold here and I had to take a little break while writing this post to make myself a mug of hot chocolate. I am being so bad about sweets lately! I am really into baking and all I will say is that I have to put myself back on track! Anyone feeling the same way? It’s so hard to avoid these type of temptations at this time of the year, right?
You can’t think about food without thinking of kitchens… unless you love to eat out, which is something I also love doing! But if you enjoy cooking and baking, having a beautiful kitchen certainly can make you feel more inspired and even help make things easier and more practical. If you’re looking for kitchen renovation ideas, this post should really inspire you. In fact, it might even inspire you to renovate not only your kitchen but also extend it to your mudroom and laundry room as well. Wouldn’t that be nice?
Please keep reading to know more details about this beautiful and welcoming home renovation done by Katelyn of KBG Design. She’s a wonderful and talented interior designer and I feel we will learn a thing or two with her today:
“Our clients wanted a bright and classic white kitchen/ laundry/ mud room with touches of warm grey and accents of marble, brass, and natural wood elements. They wanted to keep the color palette neutral so that colorful accessories could be swapped out during various holidays throughout the year. This project was an addition plus an interior remodel reconfiguration. We were brought in on the project after permits were already pulled, but did some tweaks to the plans during construction to accommodate details that the homeowner wanted. From there, we custom designed all the cabinetry, built-ins and tile layouts and we quite involved during construction to ensure proper design execution.” – Katelyn of KBG Design.
  Inspiring Home Renovation
Designer Tip: “If you want to do away with an eat-in kitchen table, make sure you have plenty of room for seating at your island – and be mindful as to where those are placed. Play close attention to keeping guests out of the kitchen’s main work-triangle i.e. the connection between the sink/fridge/cooktop. I often place the refrigerator right at the transition between the public and private space of the kitchen just like this kitchen. That way, guests can access the refrigerator without crossing through the cook’s work triangle.”
White Kitchen Paint Color
Soft Color Palette: “For the cabinet paint color, I selected Dunn Edward’s “Cool December”, which I feel is the perfect balance of a white that is not too creamy or yellow, but still has hints of warmth to it. It’s basically the perfect white.”
 Vent Hood: Zephyr 42”.
Pot Filler: Kingston Brass.
Backsplash
“For the backsplash, my clients wanted a traditional honed Carrara Marble so we went with the 3” x 6” size in an offset pattern by Bedrosians. This really shows off the variety of veining throughout the natural stone.”
Backsplash: Bedrosians 3×6 Carrara Marble Tile.
Counterstools
Counterstools are Rove Concepts (provided by the client) – similar here.
Beautiful Counterstools: here, here, here, here, here & here.
Eat-in
“Many of our clients are doing away with kitchen tables and opting for super large islands. That way family and guests can be close by or dine informally while still gathering together in the kitchen.”
Dimensions: Kitchen space is 26’-7” x 14’ deep or 365 square feet including the desk command center area.
All Appliances by GE Monogram.
Kitchen Island
“Because this island is so large (7’-8” x 10’), we were larger than any single available engineered quartz material. So, we opted to source a manufacturer that makes consecutive slabs. You’d never know it, but this island has a seam but it’s unnoticeable in real life and in pictures.
The island countertop is Vadara’s Calcatta Blanco, an engineered quartz, which again has ribbons of warm gray mixed with gold on a mostly off-white background.”
Kitchen Sink & Lighting
Kitchen Sink: Kohler Undermount single-bowl farmhouse kitchen sink.
Lighting: Wayfair (provided by the client) – similar here (great quality).
Kitchen Faucet
Kitchen Faucet: Kingston Brass Bridge-Style Kitchen Faucet.
White Oak Island
“The island was custom stained by the cabinet maker to match the warm-toned engineered hardwood flooring by Hallmark Floors, Alta Vista Collection in color Del Mar.”
Other Wide Plank Hardwood Flooring: here, here & here.
Homework Zone
Kitchen Trends: “Many clients are requesting built-in desks areas that I call a command center- if you will. A place for a laptop or desktop computer, file storage, charging stations, etc.”
Shelves: Restoration Hardware Floating Metal Shelf in “Brass” (68” size). Others: here (White Oak).
Chairs: here.
Layout
The mudroom and laundry room are located close by the kitchen. Ahead, you will find the formal dining room.
Beautiful Runners: here, here, here, here, here & here.
Cabinetry
“We went through great lengths to design every inch of the cabinetry to give it a truly custom look. My client has beautiful taste so she was already equipped with several concept images and selections to inspired our designs. Instead of a traditional one-piece crown, we created our our crown by inverting a base moulding plus a 1” x 1” which is traditional with a twist – and might be my favorite part of the kitchen.”
Cabinet Hardware: Rejuvenation Cabinet Pulls & Knobs Mission Collection, unlacquered brass.
Perimeter Countertop
“The perimeter is a velvet Cabrini Grey engineered quartz by Daltile. The grey perimeter broke up all the white cabinetry without weighing the color palette down.”
Family Living
The kitchen opens to a comfy and inviting family room.

The fireplace is flanked by custom cabinets and White Oak floating shelves.
