I don’t know if you’ve seen The Holiday, but on the off chance: Chrissy is Iris/Kate Winslet, Nancy is the jerky Jasper guy who cheated on her with Jonathan but they stayed friends in a weird sort of will they won’t they way anyway, and Robin is Miles/Jack Black. (Whereas Eddie is Amanda/Cameron Diaz and Steve is Graham/Jude Law, only in Hawkins instead of England. But I’m not on one of the bits about them atm, so enjoy a dash of pre-Buckingham. I’m going to have to bake a “not all bisexuals” into it but Robin and Vickie aren’t going to work out and then she and Chrissy will have something very much in common.)

This fic is still in the early stages, where Eddie is on his first OKCupid date and unaware that the OC who just treated him to Italian food is a feeder, or what that means. The Steddie part comes later, once he’s done some more exploring in this kink and put on a bit more weight than this current guy is into—they part amicably though, it’s sort of a fwb dynamic anyway so there’s no hard feelings.

See, noncon becoming con/dubcon is great because you get the mindbreaking aspect of someone experiencing so much pleasure that they start to enjoy it despite not wanting it.

But then con becoming noncon/dubcon is great because you get the slow ramping up of things, pushing boundaries until it goes too far, but they still don't stop because they need to do it.

My headcanon about Sam

Basically, I prefer a lore-friendly style. So, I don't stray too far away from the original. I just add something I like in between the non-described parts, like details of his character, or his tastes in his private life.

Seems to be an animal lover As for the reaction to Atheles, he appears to love animals. Although I can't understand why I recieved some complaints after choosing Atheles instead of microbe. It seems that the reason he refuses Cora's request for pets is not because he dislikes animals, but because their lifestyle doesn't lend itself to having pets with responsibilities. I wish someone could make a mod that enables petting animals for both the spacefarer and NPCs. It would also be great if there were a mod that brings dogs and cats to Starfield. If it comes true, I will keep foxbats in my husbandry, dogs in the Lodge and watch Sam so happily pets them. (kawaii)

Seems to like keeping things neat and clean Since he tries to change the subject from Lilian to bathroom hygiene, it seems he prefers keeping things clean. His room at the Lodge isn't that messy, and the same likely goes for his room at Jacob's house. There's still a lot of the naughty boy in him, but he seems decent about it.

Seems more attentive than he looks The 3C (or 4A?) levelled curly hair that Cora has requires detangling almost every day; otherwise, her hair gets matted. So, I think Sam would comb her hair as a daily routine until she can do it on her own. Cora might still ask him to do it sometimes. As someone with very straight hair, I haven't experienced this myself, but I can imagine how much work it takes. Apart from that, just imagine Sam combing Cora's hair — it's such a heartwarming sight, isn't it?

Seems doesn't care himself much While there are dumbbells in his room, it seems like he doesn't have enough time to exercise. His body looks less toned when he wears a swimsuit. He takes good care of his beard, but otherwise, he seems to pay less attention to himself than to Cora. Though a maintenance of his beard doesn't seem to demand a significant amount of time and effort. It looks he lets his beard grow as it is and just trims it with clippers, maybe using a 3mm attachment, about twice a week or so.

Scent I remember Cora mentioning that her dad's ship was kind of smelly. However, he doesn't seem like someone who has a strong body odor. I think he wears a very classic masculine perfume, perhaps something like Aramis, with a leathery, musky, and smoky scent. In that case, my spacefarer might not prefer the scent either and could consider offering something more preferable for both of them as a gift.

My thoughts on his night life are in the next section. (It's safe for work.)

My spacefarer had no chance to know that he was bi. Sam can be flirted with regardless of the spacefarer's gender, and his voice actor mentioned that he played Sam as bisexual. So, I already knew that he was bi before I played that part of the game. But my spacefarers wouldn't know that just from his dialogue. Sam has an ex-wife and a daughter, and his confession mainly revolves around his ex. Barret is similar in this respect; he only talks about his late husband. Although Barret awkwardly tried to hit on the spacefarer on the ending of his personal quest. Since bisexuality of romantically involved NPCs is a common thing in many games, the development team may have felt that it was not necessary to mention it in the game. However, I think it would be more immersive if Sam or Barret were given the opportunities to subtly imply their bisexuality to the spacefarer, if their feelings were somewhat mutual (in game-wise, if the affinity level were enough). Nevertheless, I can assume that Sam has had various naughty experiences, including indulging in aurora, during his days of partying hard with his smuggler master. This means that the possibilities of Sam's sexual preferences are infinite.

Since he prefers cleaness (or, so I believe)... To engage in intimate relations between men requires careful preparation and aftercare to prevent any issues. You can't have it the moment you want it. As mentioned earlier, he appears attentive but less focused on self-care. Both the preparation and aftercare aspects would likely feel tiresome to him, and he wouldn't be inclined to use an unprepared space. Consequently, although he may enjoy both giving and receiving, I suspect he wouldn't engage in such activities very frequently. If there were advanced devices capable of swiftly cleaning, sanitizing, and preparing the spot and be safe to use, he would enjoy it more often, but the world of Starfield seems unlikely. Because, for instance, it has only very antiquated toilets without even electric bidet seats. Despite being a highly energetic individual, I believe Sam would find greater satisfaction in intimate connections with men through a sense of peace of mind or spiritual bonding rather than direct sexual experiences. I will explain this in the next section.

He may try to find his ideal father in his male partner With Sam taking every opportunity to speak ill of his father, Jacob's existence is of great importance to him, whether he likes it or not. Deep down, he can't hate Jacob completely and wants to make peace with him. But at the same time he knows that Jacob would never change the way he is, and neither would he, and he still suffers from flashbacks to the bitter memories of his youth. So, I believe he would be drawn to someone who listens to him, accepts him as he is, spoiles or guides him sometimes and provides comfort, which might include non-platonic forms of intimacy. Physical intimacy doesn't always have to involve penetration for him; what's most important is the emotional connection and support which Jacob never could show him.

His taste in women is unclear for me As he seems mildly possessive, and as energetic as he can easily be for 4 rounds, he is the type of person who wants to stay with his love all the time, regardless of gender. I can understand that he can't be patient with Lilian's lack of motherhood and that he wants the spacefarer to treat him and Cora well as a full package. However, I don't think he expects his beloved to be a typical mother type. If he were, he wouldn't be a partner for the woman who lives such an intense, distinguished lifestyle. Besides, he didn't have much time to know motherhood well enough to ask for it from a woman he loves, so he wouldn't expect it the way he expects fatherhood from a man. And, as far as I can tell from Lilian's looks, he likes a good-looking one. One more thing, and this is just my personal opinion, he may be obsessed with women's breasts. Not for their size, but for their touch and warmth.

About Lilian He repeatedly said that his relationship with her was an event, that it just happened. I can imagine a beauty appearing out of nowhere to rescue me when I'm in a mess, saying, 'I've seen something in you; why don't you come with me?' I'd follow her no matter what. As for Lilian, I can also picture her stumbling upon a soaked, wet puppy on a stormy night. She couldn't help but pick him up, take him home, and care for him. However, it later turned out that he was a Weimaraner, raised in poverty of love, not an obedient Labrador Retriever. Naturally, it's challenging for her to provide him with more than enough affection to be tamed. After all, she is also a fierce hound, raised and living in a very different environment. It's not surprising that they didn't get along well together.

I haven't thought much about the details of what he would be like in bed, so I'll write it down another time. I have seen some amazing articles that he plays dom. I almost agree with them, but he doesn't strike me as the theatrical type. If he tries to pretend to be a pompous master, he might burst out laughing in the middle, and the spacefarer would join in the laughter amusingly. (kawaii) I'm not sure how he manages to leave bruises during the night, and I can only assume that he plays in a kind of natural and sweet way.

Was thinking I might as well sometimes share some of the Japanese manga I read that are translated, so here’s a random small selection of them. I don’t have much commentary for each of them, but that’s because I want u all who haven’t already to check them out! :3c

First one is Tomodachi no Hanashi by Kazune Kawahara and Aiji Yamakawa. This one I was actually recced uhhhh too long ago but thank you whoever sent it I always appreciate when shoujo unintentionally(?) capture the deeply closeted teen girl experience.

There’s no need for me to do an intro for Yuki Urushibara’s Mushishi. Truly one of the few series where I feel the anime is an equal experience to the source manga (I even recommend the live action movie!). I’m so happy I got to experience it again.

Ohana Holoholo by Shino Torino I’m also so happy I finally read, excellent unconventional found family dynamic and one of the few true bisexual manga I’ve experienced. Lovely interior art too!!

Name: Sophie Hatter. Nickname: Ms. Hatter, Soph/Phie, Grandma/Baba, etc. Gender: Cis female (she/her). Romantic orientation: As a basis, Sophie starts as questioning and veers to say bisexual. She stresses too much on other things to focus on personal variables like sexuality. However, with enough development, Sophie learns that she is pansexual, panromantic. Preferred pet names: No preference for a pet name for herself. Though, she has standard names to refer to her partner as (dear, love, and sweetheart). The last one takes a LONG time for her to say, but it could happen.  Relationship status: Depends on verse and canon timeline. In most verses, she is single and not romantically interested in anyone. Canonically, she is married and already has one child. Favorite canon / fandom ship: Simply put, the mad hatter and the avoidant wizard: Sophie and Howl!  Favorite crossover ship: Ahhh, I wouldn’t find it fair to choose a favorite crossover ship after all this time writing for this Hatter for a long while. Given how frequently crossover ships (and OC/Canon) happens across my blogs, I would say that ships that give me opportunities to both laugh and cry are ones I hold very dear to my heart. With each new dynamic comes something that is both precious and unique to that pairing, they all hold a special place in my heart and memory!  Opinion on true love: What a wondrous thing to believe in.  Sophie would encourage those who are of us confident and optimistic sights to find what their heart seeks. She isn’t one to reveal her true opinions and thoughts about romance -- she’s quite believing herself to be the exception to the rules for most things. True love is for others, not her -- not in her fate, not for her future.  If someone else could experience it and let themselves be found and loved for, who is she to decline such a happy dream? However, Sophie isn’t one who will be up with kind arms over the matter; she will provide opinions and caution for those who may repeatedly use ‘true love’ with each new relationship; something as magical as true love cannot be chased after. It’s like a flower for her, it grows and grows before you notice it amongst a garden. Opinion on love at first sight: Now, this is one she isn’t all for. Blame it for her overprotective and cautious nature, Sophie already has experienced hearing about ‘love at first sight’ from her youngest sister, Martha. She is more than certain to stress different degrees of ‘love,’ referring to love-at-first-sight to be infatuation that can be fleeting and troublesome. She wouldn’t immediately stress that idea but she would beat around the bush as she’s one to be sensitive to someone’s feelings....before they go overboard, in which case, she will be blunt about the matter.

How ‘romantic’ are they?: By all means is Sophie Hatter a spirit invested by the possibilities of romance -- with a capital R. Being romantic is a hurdle for Sophie, given her limited experience in proper relationships when her own issues regarding anxiety, self-esteem, and budding paranoia and trust issues remained largely swept under a rug. She could be very Romantic in being lost in her own daydreams and imagining herself in the many different lives she could’ve been in. However, the intimacy of connecting to someone and being romantic with them will be challenging at first. It will be stiff and awkward, trying to fill out what she believes she’s lacking to give her partner. It is there but it will take time to show.  Ideal physical traits: Sophie certainly has biases when it comes to appearances (long (and dark) hair, sometimes tall, maybe a mysterious air to them (?)), but that doesn’t quite become her ‘ideal’ person. For Sophie to fall for someone, she doesn’t really have a checklist of what she wants in someone. Even if she had to think of someone, most of her ideal traits are things that come from the relationship -- something that both parties should offer to another like trust.  Ideal personality traits: Oh! Well, this can be quite a mix of things! Sophie has been on the record to fall for people who take on leadership like roles and ensure to hold their responsibilities close to their heart. However, it’s usually those that can be easy to talk to, respect family and are family-oriented, and have themselves aimed at something. However, one thing that she REALLY likes but doesn’t often notice it is someone who can banter back with her, quick on their feet. 

Sophie’s standards are abysmally low just for about anything. Just please be a good person, that’s all she asks of you. 

Even then, Sophie wouldn’t even really consider herself in the same league as someone who likes her....she’s even more concerned why you do like her.

unattractive physical traits: The only real thing here is if they don’t keep up bathing. Really, that it is.  unattractive personality traits: Selfishness, a cold demeanor that is intent on hurting others. Sophie has a weird track-record with getting along with people who she shouldn’t get along with, in theory. I think a general idea is that if they view the world through a limited lens, seeing things as black-and-white, they aren’t going to get well along.  ideal date: Given her lack of experience and the situation she was raised in, Sophie is more than happy to go on any time of date that isn’t too loud or too much, at the start. Her best interests are her partner’s interests -- something that they both could enjoy together would benefit her greatly. Staying home to do those things means she also wouldn’t be too on edge and would be more open to expressing herself, as she wouldn’t be that expressive in public. 

Natural, open areas like the beach or flower fields are her go-tos if she had to suggest something. She likes lush, green areas that give her time to explore and walk around, even getting a little messy with climbing around and get intimately aware of the location. Even areas with not a lot of people do her well, and with enough time, she’ll finally open up to go to busier places.  do they have a type?: Hard to pin! There isn’t a type that she has, more so, she has a pattern for those she tends to be shipped with.  preferred non-sexual intimacy: The smallest and the quietest things matter to her. She is one to very much give what she usually wants and she may not realize it. Hand-holding, leaning against the other, long-drawn-out hugs where she listens to her partner’s heartbeat..-- There are many things to be done where she wants to give a lot to her partner and doesn’t want to make a show out of it. 

It can change if her partner gets her excitable and she could end up taking a slow dance to a fast-paced one, or holding her partner’s face, laughing loudly and kissing them. She just has a lot of love to give and she isn’t used to expressing it and giving it out because she doesn’t think PEOPLE WANT IT AND I HAVE A LOT OF THINGS.

SOMEONE PLEASE MAKE SOPHIE STUPID IN LOVE.  commitment level: Loyalty and commitment are practically an establishing factor for the seamstress. It is both her biggest strength but her biggest vulnerability as she is one that will go out of her way just to make people happy, especially those who consider close. It does come with some issues as she would be rash and making her own decisions that can affect her and her partner because she wants them to be happy -- no matter what.

Even with situations that aren’t negotiable or to her liking, she still plays her part. Maybe her disdain will be notable and her behaviors around her partner (if the relationship is arranged) privately, but she will do her best to play her part. 

opinion of public affection: Couples are free to do whatever they want, but even she has a limit on how intimate people are in public. She, herself, is terribly shy and too worked up about people’s perceptions of her when they see her in public. She will be distant about how much affection she shows in public and would recoil, depending on the relationship, at being touched suddenly and she would then awkwardly scoot herself away.  past relationships?:  Verse dependent. Sophie has never been in any official, long committal relationships. Do they get the urge to jump from high places?

Yes! Maybe it has something to do with air behind her preferred element or something, because she’s been climbing and jumping out of trees without a care since she was a kid. This habit has only been enabled with the addition of gliders and griffons. You’ll often see her jump in free-fall until the last possible second because she loves the feel of the air whooshing by. I’m sure she gives higher-ups in the Pact a heart attack every time she does it.

How would they respond to being asked to watch over a child for an afternoon?

It depends on who was asking and why. She’s not opposed to children, she just doesn’t have much experience with them. If it was important, or for a friend, she would definitely say yes. It kind of depends on the child, but I’m picturing her being sort of a “cool bisexual aunt” figure - shows up, keeps you occupied with griffon rides and starts teaching you swordplay or how to use a basic healing cantrip or some basic Canthan symbols or whatever else the child showed an interest in or affinity for. 

She’d also probably tell stories that destroyed the child’s vision of their heroes - I’m picturing Logan showing up to pick up this important noble’s child, and finding Daine and the kid having a tea party and laughing over stories of Logan losing his temper and storming out of dungeons because of Rytlock. (Daine, wiping a tear out of her eye and laughing: “I almost left to go get popcorn when Destiny’s Edge first met back up, it was just so much like a cliche scene from a holo-movie.”)

Would they ever spend an afternoon in a library? What section would they spend the most time in?

Absolutely! The section she spent time in would be dictated by whatever needed researched at the moment. So...usually dragons. But if there was no impending threat to the world she’d probably be researching stuff on history or the Canthan language. She firmly believes Cantha is still intact, and would love to go see the home of her ancestors someday.

Could their personality or interests be considered “flighty?” Do they change their mind/interests often?

No. Daine is a massive worrier, and tends to overthink and overplan if given enough time to do so. Thankfully(?) the Commander is never given enough time and information to make good choices, so she often has to go “oh fuck, oh fuck, we’ll go with option...” *rolls dice* “...two.” If she changes her mind about that stuff it’s after the fact, when the consequences have already happened/they actually have information about it.

Do they daydream? Of what?

She daydreams all the goddamn time to the point where it can be a problem. She can get very hyperfocused on her own thoughts and zone out, making her easy to sneak up on in those scenarios. Usually it’s anxieties and ‘what-if’ situations, but uh. It also often involves smooching and more indulgent activities.

How do they deal with experiencing physical pain?

She’s learned to shrug most of it off quickly by now, usually by using earth attunements to reduce damage and water attunement to heal it. But sometimes an Elder Dragon bitchslaps a cave ceiling onto you, and even she’s not powerful enough to shrug that off. She’s going to be numb to things for a little while thanks to adrenaline and sorrow, but once that recedes a bit she’ll let a medic lead her away. Cue a collapse and the need to bite down on something while the medic works on her crushed leg. She’ll put on a brave face during recovery though (and she’s definitely not going to be getting the rest the doctor tells her to get).

mmmmmmmmmmm yea i havent came out to p much any of my irl friends or my parents (as much as i know they’d support me) so i get misgendered all the time when im at school n at home so :/ i just kinda grin and bear it
