Danny and Tim have this unspoken bond, both of them constantly walking the line between life and death—Tim with his brushes with danger as Red Robin, and Danny being, well, half-dead. You’d think that shared experience would bring them closer, but instead, it’s just one more thing that separates them.

Tim feels like he can never fully reach Danny. There’s always a distance, an invisible wall between them, and it eats at him. Danny can phase through walls, but somehow, the emotional ones are harder to break down. Tim’s used to distance, though—he’s felt it his whole life—with Bruce, with the Bat family, and now, with Danny.

Danny tries to reassure Tim, tells him that he’s always there, but Tim can see the cracks. He knows what it’s like to hold everything together, to be the one everyone depends on, and Danny’s doing the same thing. Tim sees the strain in Danny’s smile, the way his eyes glaze over when he thinks no one’s watching. But what kills Tim the most is that Danny won’t let him in—not fully. Not in the way Tim wants.

Some nights, it feels like they’re both ghosts. Tim, drifting through the Batcave like a shadow, barely noticed, and Danny, flickering between his human and ghost forms, unsure where he belongs. They’re both alive, but neither of them really feels it. The constant brushes with death, the danger—it’s left them numb in different ways.

Tim wonders if Danny’s afraid of hurting him, afraid of getting too close. Danny’s power—his half-dead nature—it’s a part of him, and Tim knows he doesn’t want to accidentally phase through Tim’s life, leave him behind, like he’s done with so many others. But Tim’s already used to being left behind, and maybe that’s the worst part. He’s so used to it that he’s convinced himself it’s just how things are meant to be.

They don’t talk about it, about the distance or the loneliness, but it’s always there, lingering like a third presence in the room. Danny, half-dead. Tim, feeling like he’s not fully living. Both of them too scared to confront it, to say out loud what they’re both thinking—that maybe they’ll never really fit anywhere. Not with the Bat family, not with the ghosts, not even with each other.

Stan totally doesn't happy cry a lil bit when tiny Ford tells him how much he loves him (because he knows big Ford was never the best at formulating his appreciation in words, so this is just extra nice💖)

i do think the doctor at the flak house was great. he read rosie inside out. he tried a straight forward approach at first, pointing out that he went through something unbelievably traumatic, only to be met with a brick wall. he lets it go, and waits until rosie comes to him - which comes when they meet during that night, when neither of them can sleep, and we get to see rosie finally make himself even a little bit vulnerable. he comes into the conversation, guns blazing, assured that he needs to get the hell out of the flak house before he looses that rhythm... only for the doctor to reframe it so that its not just about what rosie needs, but also what rosie's crew needs too. and it's this conversation that propells rosie to reach out to his crew and take care of them, listening to thier stories and accept that he must stay.

thinking about pmd2 hero being weird about the meals at the guild at first. they're so used to having to eat small and rationing food because food was limited with it only being able to appear in dungeons in the future and those were always dangerous to traverse, especially as a human. it became second nature to them so it affects them even after losing their memories. it's just the natural way of things.

partner and chimecho take note that hero is skinnier and smaller than pokemon of their species usually are (which is especially apparent with munchlax) and that they seem to leave a big portion of their dinner behind. they try to encourage them to eat more, with partner reassuring them that it's okay and chimecho trying out different meals in case it's a diet restriction. seeing that it's okay, hero slowly starts to eat more and more off their plate until they able to finish it off. they become a healthy weight and have more energy, and partner chimecho are both relieved and also incredibly proud of them.

To Hands That Hold And Sometimes Let Go

The sky darkens as the smoke rises from the section of Gotham City that still burns from the latest rogue attack. Emergency sirens blare in the distance and people frantically make their way home in case the destruction starts heading in their direction.

Tim only takes a second to breathe in the sudden chaos across the city before he’s bounding down to Bruce’s study and pacing anxiously in the elevator on the way down. Tim startles when he realizes that Danny is already there just getting into his suit before yanking on his own Red Robin uniform.

“Stay here for this one, i heard on the comms that this is a planned attack by several rogues in an alliance. It’s too dangerous for you to be out and trying to help right now.” Tim throws over his shoulder as he strides over to one of the batbikes.

“And leave people out there to die? Are you insane?! You need all the help you can get.” Danny practically shouts at him.

“We don’t need you out there, you’ll only get in the way with your level of training.” Tim whips around to growl at him. There’s not enough time to argue right now with Gotham in flames and who-knows-who on the loose.

Nobody gets the chance to say another word before the bike starts, and in the next second he’s already barreling through the cave’s hidden entrance into the night to fight with the rest of the bats.

Alfred sighs as he watches him go, and Danny startles and turns around to look at him. The young masters all seem to have the same issues with communication as Bruce, and it always seems to cause problems for them. There doesn’t seem to be a day that goes by without one or another of them getting in a tiff.

Danny sniffles and drops into one of the chairs. He slides a hand down his face and it’s a minute before he says anything, but Alfred waited until he was ready to say what needed to be said.

“Why did they want to keep me if they aren’t going to let me help them. Obviously i’m not exactly useful for anything else, and there’s no reason to keep me here other than Vlad asking him to.” Danny mumbled dejectedly from his spot.

“Master Danny, you don’t need to be worried about whether you will get to stay in the manor if you’re not useful. It’s not required that you go out on their night jobs with them, and we would be perfectly happy even if you stayed in the manor most of the time.” Alfred soothed.

“But that’s not what i want. I want to be so useful they have to acknowledge me, can’t leave me behind. I wasn’t helping with their inventions so my parents left me behind to work on them, and i wasn’t helpful and dragged Jazz with me. If i’m not good then i’m bad, and then even he doesn’t want me and i end up alone again.” He sobs quietly.

“Master Danny…”

“Please just let me help. I need to.” Danny asks quietly.

Alfred sighs and sets down the medi-pack he was restocking. If he lets him go he could get hurt. Making him stay could hurt him more. The boy is rough around the edges and clearly doesn’t trust adults, barely trusting people his own age. In fact, the only one he seemed to open up to was Master Richard.

“Will you promise to at least attempt to stay safe? And if things get too out of hand, come back here immediately?” Alfred asks.

“Of course!” Danny says “As long as I can help!”

Alfred simply nods and watches Danny pull on his Ghost Bat uniform and hop on a batbike of his own, only pausing to wave at Alfred as he zips out of the cave.

Perhaps it’s time to do some digging.

He sighs as he settles down in front of the bat computer to wait for news about his grandchildren.

And I'm also genuinely keen to see whether the chemistry that Hemswitcher had with Joey and Anya at the table read is going to come across onscreen. That would be a nice change of pace, to have a Geralt who has chemistry with his co-stars.

Like it was extremely obvious that the Kings didn't want to drag anyone into their fight but the situation gave them no choice as they needed the pilots necessary to pull off their huge plan. The episode showed off each of them and how they handled it even down to how they would express not wanting to have anyone to join them.

But man, Rita's has so much to unpack despite always having short moments with Morf yet it still makes me cry like a fcking baby 😭😭😭
