It's simply baffling to me, recognizing how deliriously happy I am with the casting as it is, how I love these depictions of these characters with every fiber of my being, and yet, if you reversed them, it would absolutely and completely still fucking work. Especially Michael. But oh my god fluffy David! They need to do a charity special or something, with their roles reversed. NEED TO. And Michael better have his beard when they do.

This is beautiful, by the way. Love the new placement of the snake tattoo. My brain immediately started doing characterization things like, it's a little more obvious there, would he be more self conscious? thinking abt punkflower + "don't watch the mouth, watch the hands" and going bananas okay Look:

it's crazy that we don't invoke it more bc aside from it being this iconic, overarching theme, it is so so insanely applicable???? for one, it's the perfect encapsulation of their relationship so far, such as it is: miles spending so much of atsv watching hobie's mouth, figuratively - for the damning proof of his relationship with gwen, for the disregard he expected, for all the references and slang and talk in general going over his head - when hobie actually showed him his hand almost as soon as they met. when he kept on doing it; when he was shaking miles' shoulders in mumbattan, when hobie was doing magic tricks for him and filching parts from hq to make his own watch, when he showed him he could break free. when miles wasn't even there to watch hobie throw off his ties to the society and walk out rather than join the hunt for him

and idk maybe other ppl disagree, but as far as i'm concerned: of course miles didn't see it. bc he's been taught to distrust the hands, from the get-go. from itsv to atsv - from kingpin's fists beating peter parker to death right in front of him to the prowler's gauntlets to miguel's claws tearing holes in his suit and the go-home machine's forcefield alike to the prowler's gauntlets--

(the prowler's gauntlets that another hobie brown wears in another universe. that connect them even when they represent the opposite of connection, for miles)

with all that in mind, is it any wonder he wouldn't see what hobie was showing him, at first? with all that in mind, isn't it amazing that hobie says "palms" and miles trusts him enough to listen? to try?

remember how when saiki was crushing on satou and wanted to talk to him, instead of yk.. actually talking to him, he found out all of his interests and displayed his own interest in those things in front of him to try to get him to notice him??

yeah, now imagine him doing that when he has a crush on anyone else..

hes such a silly and awkward teenage boy i love it, like buddy you CAN just talk to your crush, you dont have to try to get him to "notice you.." but hes too silly and awkward so thats like the most he would ever do and would still probably think that that counts as flirting

im just... wondering about how saikis terrible silly flirting tactics would translate if his crush was on one of his FRIENDS.. like someone he could actually be around and would see and talk to him.. would he just like be trying to impress them ?? moving toward them more ?? adopting more of their mannerisms and interests maybe ??

imagine that like EVERYONE in the group would notice it, but it wouldn't be like "omg saiki is flirting" it would be more like "omg why is saiki being extra awkward and talking more" because hes so painfully unclear about his intentions but hes usually so quiet and unassuming that this would be such a stark contrast to his usual behavior...
