So what is your favorite and least favorite pokemon for each region?
Oh that can be a tough one.
Kanto
Least favorite: I would say Mr Mime, though Jynx is also kinda tied to it, but I've seen more of Mr Mime than Jynx, and Jynx I can happily forget exists. Until I wind up seeing it again. Mr Mime not so much.
Favorite: ...I think I'd have to go with... Charizard and it's line. Overly popular I know, but man it's one of my fav starters. Though Gyrados, Nidoran (male) line, Vulpix line, and Growlithe line were all super close.
Jhoto
Least favorite: I'd have to say Ursaring. Bears I don't usually vibe with, but I really liked Teddiursa but Ursaring design wise I never clicked with. There is improvement with Ursaluna, but they just can't top Teddiursa for me. That's my fav of the whole line.
Favorite: I'd have to do Tyranitar and it's line easily. Inspired by Godzilla, that's a mon after my own heart. And the few times I got to use it, I always thought it was so awesome and powerful. Honorable mentions for All Jhoto starters, Ampharos's line, Quagsire's line, Espeon and Umbroen, Teddiursa, Houndoom's line, Kingdra, Suicune, Raikou, and Lugia.
Hoenn
Least favorite: I'm counting them as the same, but easily Volbeat and Illumise. They're one of those designs for me that when you see them for the first time as a kid and you hate immediately. And it hasn't gotten better at all. I cannot stand these two.
Favorite: I would have to say Seviper. I have always liked snakes and that's like one of the coolest snakes in Pokemon. Honorable mentions: all Hoenn starters, Zigzagoon, Poochyena line, Wurmple line, Sableye, Zangoose, Milotic, Rayquaza.
Sinnoh
Least favorite: Lickilily. Lickitung I did like, but the evo is a disappointment for me. It's just not what I wanted for Lickitung.
Favorite: Garchomp's line easily. I like dragons, and I like sharks, and I got a draconic land shark, it's perfect. And awesome to have on the team. Honorable mentions: Torterra, Staraptor, Luxury's line, Roserade's line, and Giratina.
Unova
Least favorite: This is the hardest as Unova is one of the few regions that has the most I like, I'm neutral, and I dislike. It is expected that a lot of designs will be a mixed bag, but man, there are a lot of pokemon I'm not crazy about in Unova. It actually makes BW a hard game for me to replay as most of what I dislike actually makes up the first half of the game and everything I like is later. And I don't know if I can pin down one pokemon as a least favorite. I don't like Pignite, the Patrat line, Timburr line, Throh and Sawk, Darmanitan, Crustle, Sigilyph, Gothita line, Vanillite line, Foongus line, Jellicent, Ferroseed line, Klink line, Cryogonal, and Stunfisk. They're all about the same for me, so I can't say there's one specifically I dislike the most.
Favorite: I'd have to vote Serperior. It's easily one of my fav grass starters, and this game came out not long after I learned of my French heritage through my biological father, so it was kinda neat to have it in my line. Honorable mentions: Gigalithe, Excadrill, Sewaddle line, Venipede line, Sandile's line, Galvantula, Haxorus, Mienshao, and Deino's line.
Kalos
Least favorite: Barbaracle. It just didn't click with me at all so it was a big nope. Also not crazy about Aromatisse and Slurpuff, Diggersby, and Quilladin.
Favorite: I'd have to say Tyrantrum. Loved dinosaurs as a kid, and it's the first fossil mon I actually really like. Honrable mentions: Frogadier, Braixen, Espurr, Honedge and Doublade, Spritzee, Sylveon, and Yveltal.
Alola
Least favorite: Gumshoos, it reminds me of Trump too much. I also don't really like the Ultra Beasts.
Favorite: Mimikyu. Best Pikachu clone, though I wish it had a friendship evo. Honorable mentions: Rowlet line, Popplio line, Rockruff line, Mudsdale, and Salazzle.
Galar
Least favorite: Inteleon. I really dislike it, and it mostly comes down to the odd proportions they gave it, also if I had gotten SwSh, I would've initially picked Sobble as that's the one I was most partial to, but can't do that anymore... I also don't like Stonejourner and Galar's fossil mons.
Favorite: Corviknight. That is one wicked bird, and I'm glad there's another Flying/Steel. Honorable mentions: Toxtricity, Centiscorch, Grimmsnarl, Obstagoon, Wyrdeer, and Basculegion.
Paldea
Least favorite: Palafin. I really do not like that "hero" form. I also dislike Spidops, Bellibolt, Rellor, and Munkidori.
Favorite: Tintaton. She's an absolute gift. Honorable mentions: Koraidon, Fuecoco and Skeledirge, Floragato, Lokix, Charcadet line, Farigiraf, Great Tusks, Slither Wing, Iron Thorns, Roaring Moon, Hydrapple, and Tera form Terapagos.

My opinion about pokémon games 2- Johto (Silver, Gold and Crystal)
Hi! As I said in the last post, in these reviews I will write about what I think is good and bad about different Pokémon videogames. I will talk (at least by the moment) about the principal games and I will go generation through generation. So as last time I talked about Red and Blue here is the link if you missed it now I will write about Silver, Gold and Crystal. Now it’s been some time since I don’t play it so be free to correct me if I make any mistakes.
Tumblr media
In general I think this game was more complete than the first one, it had more options, like the phone and the bright idea of Pokémon breeding, which I think is one of the most entertaining things in Pokémon. It also included the first battle tower in Chrystal. It’s kind of a magic game, as they gave it a softer (but not worse) touch that wasn’t in Kanto. In fact Crystal was the first Pokémon game I played and that’s why it makes me feel kind of nostalgic. Another thing that I find very important is the fact that they added the option of being a girl with my favorite protagonist, that girl with blue hair I call Crystal. That was one big step to make the feminine public more comfortable, cause that was basically telling them the game was also for them and that girls can also be heroes. If I am not wrong it was (if not the first) one of the first videogames that added the possibility to play as a woman, and I think this is a big step in such a sexist industry as the videogame’s is. About the world: now that was a real fantasy world! I liked the realistic touch in Kanto but I rather the dreamy Tradicional-Japan inspired Johto. I think it gave another look to the videogames, maybe more appealing to the young public, but also not forgetting the adult one; I love the changing from day to night they added to this second game; I think it’s the best idea they had in Pokémon. All the scenario changed from day to night: you were in the same place but everything was darker and some Pokémon changed. I loved walking through tall grass and finding all the hoot-hoots and spinaraks, I kind of rather playing this game by night; but then the day came again and it all got calm and dreamy again. Talking about the cities, they were all very different; I like every one of them too: the idea of the Sprout Tower in the violet city, together with all Ecruteack city gave it the mysterios and tradicional japanase touch, while Goldenrod and Olivine cities gave it the cute touch. Mahogany Town and Blackthorn city added what most of the audience look for in Pokémon and other videogames, the epic touch, and the lake of rage was also helping in that. But cool cities and towns wasn’t everything that Pokémon offered us; there were also very entertaining places where we could do other activities, like the Ruins of Alph were we tried to complete the Unown dex while solving mysteries and the National Park and it’s contests, I had a lot of fun trying to catch the strongest or weirdest bug! And if that wasn’t enough, we could also travel to Kanto! I honestly have nothing to object about this region, the only fact that can be discussed is the decision of the boring zubat caves again and having to go across the victory road again, UFF!!
Tumblr media
The villains: we had Team Rocket again there, which maybe wasn’t necessary but it wasn’t either a bad option. In one hand it was cool they went on showing that, even in a pretty world like the Pokémon one, there was cruelty; I’m referring to things like, for example, the slowpoke’s tails creepy plot. When you’re a child you’re like: “okay, this is bad”. But when you grow up you are like: “wait, WHAT?” They literally cut their tails to sell them in a high price, as it seems they are tasty. But doesn’t that reflect how bad we are too for eating animals? I’m not vegan but that is an interesting fact to think about, how we are reflected in team Rocket actions. Anyways it could likely be more compared to the shark hunting on japan (or was it in China?), as their fins are used for making soups and other food. I’m not sure how it works but I know they kill the whole animal just for eating the fin; if killing an animal you’re going to eat entirely can be cruel for some of us, how is it to kill an animal just for a fin? To me it makes 100% logic these things happen in Pokémon, and it is very clear that it would be team rocket who would sell the Slowpoke tails. The only question I have about it is… what happens to the Slowpokes? Do they kill them? Or do they make them live suffering? I can’t imagine team Rocket healing Slowpoke butts, honestly – and that makes me sad as you know it is the Pokémon I feel more represented by ;_;
But team Rocket was not that powerful since Giovanni left it, and Game Freak made a good job showing the contrast. For example, in Red and Blue, Team Rocket is everywhere: in the powerful places like Silph S.A., in the casino, Giovanni is a Gym leader, etc. while in Gold, Sylver and Crystal they even have difficulties invading the Radio Tower… because when they do you immediately go and kick them out. Not to mention there is no sign of them in Kanto neither. And after this game, team Rocket disappears. I doubt if Game Freak intentions were to make us aware that team Rocket ended there, if they wanted to show how a big mafia ended up being a group of thugs with dark intentions or if they just didn’t know what to do about the villains and didn’t think about a new team as they did lately… I think I personally would have rathered a new team because it is kind of repetitive and boring fighting them again; maybe a team linked to the spiritual touch of Johto? A lot of ideas come to my head, but well, as they made it fit the game, the idea of team Rocket again didn’t end that bad.
Tumblr media
About the Pokémon: All I have to say about them are good things; this is my favorite generation of Pokémon designs, they all look extravagant and at the same time they all have the old school touch Kanto also had. There’s a lot of Pokémon I love there: Smeargle, Jumpluff, Stantler, Ledyba, Hoot-Hoot, Misdreavus… Not to mention the legendaries were also stunning; I simply love Ho-oh and Suicune. They also included the shinys and the baby Pokémon in this game (you know, Cleffa, Pichu, Magby…) which also strengthen the cute touch I was talking about before. The pokemon they choosed of Kanto also fit the story and curiously had a big importance in it, like Bellsprout (in the sprout tower) or gastly and it’s evolutions (that were very important in the ghost gym and also helped strengthen the mysterious and dark touch I was talking about before) . I think it’s the only game I wouldn’t mind what starter to use and the eeveelution introduced are as good as the three originals or even better. As I said, nothing bad to write here.
Tumblr media
The Character designs: In the last review I was complaining of the lack of representation of social minorities and well, they introduced the first androgynous looking boy of Pokémon, Bugsy! Not to mention that Will looks kind of androgynous too. They still lacked representation for people of color and androgynous woman (and I could talk about more minorities!) but again that was Japan in the late nineties, so let’s go step by step.  Apart of that they are also good characters, but I would like to know more of them. It feels like the leaders in Kanto had a more important role than in Johto, as some of them are part of the story while we don’t get to know the Johto characters that much (maybe the only exception is Jasmine, as we help her with her ampharos). But there’s one character that amazes me and this is Whitney; she always makes me laugh as I think she’s got a strong character, she behaves like a little girl but she will destroy you with her miltank – she looks cute (and she knows it!) but will make you a drama if she doesn’t win. Honestly I can understand it if the other people find her annoying but for me she is so frinking funny. We may not get to know the new Johto characters that much but the good thing is we get to know the Kanto characters better, and I like the fact that the Johto and the Kanto league are the same and now Lance is the champion, and we also got the opportunity to fight together with him against team Rocket. We can also see how the people of Kanto is doing after the first games: I like the fact that Green is a Gym leader and you can also fight Red.  I could spend hours talking about how amazing and interesting it got but I think I said everything I had to.
Tumblr media
I can’t say I have many objections of this game. Now playing it is not as entertaining for me as playing the new games because they got more dynamic and entertaining but it is still one of my favorite games Thanks very much for reading and, if you liked it, please reblog it, like it or follow me, this blog is still new and I need your support to go on with it! J oh, and you can ask about my point of view of anything of the Pokémon world if you want, I’ll try to answer it! Sami Luu~

More fave Pokemon! (I’m home sick with a sore throat, and so have a lot of time on my hands today.) This time it’s ones introduced in Gen 2!
I remember being blown away by Gen 2 when it first came out, and this list wasn't particularly hard to put together!
1. Houndour/Houndoom. GOOD PUPPY. I was always kind of miffed that they tend to appear so late in the games they do appear in, but you get one pretty early in Pokemon XD, and you'd better believe I kept it on my team the whole game. 2. Skarmory. It's just a cool design and a great introduction to Steel! I think it has a wickedly cool cry, as well. 3/4. Espeon/Umbreon. I can't really pick between them, but these two are probably my two favourite Eeveelutions. Doesn't hurt that they're your starters in Pokemon Colosseum, either - and with max happiness, at that, showing that even when Wes was part of an evil team, he was a good person at heart. At least to his own Pokemon. Conceptually I like how Espeon is the most feline Eeveelution, and Umbreon being a sleek black rabbitcat that has glowing rings as markings is great. They're both good kitties. 5. Ho-oh. I love Ho-oh. Ho-oh reviving the Beasts is, bar none, my favourite Pokemon legend, and I love its theme song, and Sacred Fire is a cool move, even if it is slightly useless with the low PP. I always thought it got kind of shafted a little in favour of Lugia, and it bothers me a little that no ingame sprite or model has reflected the prismatic feathers the Pokedex hints at, but still, this is one of my fave Legendaries. 6. Mareep/Flaafy/Ampharos. Electric sheep!! I find them to be the Electric Pokemon for any Gen 2 game, and I kept my Ampharos all the way to the endgame in Colosseum.
Honourable mentions: *All the starters. I don't have any strong starter preference in this generation; they're all good, solid choices. I think I lean slightly toward Totodile line, but I've played with all three. Cyndaquil line is probably the best choice in Colosseum, though. Using Smokescreen while you lob Pokeballs at the Shadow Pokemon is a very good way to stall them and help prevent them from KOing themselves with the knockback from Shadow Rush.
*Suicune. What can I say? It absolutely steals the show in Crystal. I remember it being an MVP in Stadium 2, as well, with that great mix of Surf and Ice Beam. I think it has the best cry of the three Beasts, too.

BUNNI WATCHES RANDOM OUT OF ORDER SINNOH EPISODES THAT WERE LEFT ON THIS HARD DRIVE I GUESS
Today is diamond and pearl season one episode 28 "Drifloon On The Wind!"
Huh this one had a cold open showing the climactic moment from the end of the episode before it actually happened. Thats the first time i recall the anime doing that? I thougjt initially it was a flashback and i missed the first of a two parter.
Such a cool neat weird premise! A traditional pokemon centre out in the countryside! That adds so much worldbuilding to the setting! They never state it in the english dub but it seems to be a joke on a japanese onsen? (An inn built around hot springs) the archetecture just seems to be very similar, and from what i've seen in anime the "my mum and my mum's mum and my mum's mum's mum worked here" thing is a common trope. The nurse joy family is probably a joke to exaggerate it? Also i loved the scene where Brock is like "wait what the fuck this identical nurse joy is actually old enough to have a daughter ash's age and also OH NO A WEDDING RIIIIIING" And then he thankfully, blissfully GAVE UP and we had one nurse joy centric episode without him being a fuckboi. Seriously, the older you get the less funny you find brock, it sucks that the stuff that's meant to be over the top jokes is now barely more exaggerated than how some dudes act in real life. All you real life brocks, nobody finds you as charming as a fictional goofball! You're just rude! AND REAL BROCKS DONT HAVE A CROAGUNK TO STOP THEM
Anyway i LOVE the cute cottagey aesthetic pokemon center/hotel place! It seems the family mostly treats wild pokemon in the forest and they were actually so surprised to see customers that they thought they were burglars at first! And then daww ash and co help out doing chores to pay them back for the meal and bed even though the family is like 'no dude thats the duty of a pokemon centre'. I think that was a really mature moment for ash? He realized that this pokemon center gets less business than usual ones and figured he should give them a hand. And its so nice to see him being so super excited and wowed by the chores?? Like i mean its CHORES but for him its all so new cos its learning how to work in a pokemon center. Ash's best characrer trait is how his enthusiasm really has no limits, he'll go 100% be the best choremon master ever! Or maybe he was intentionalky being all THIS IS SO FUN because the joy daughters were fighting and he wanted to help cheer them up? In a lot of ways i prefer season 1's bratty egotistical sarcasm ash just cos he had more of a visible personality and you didnt have to sorta sleuth it out like this and always be left wondering whether they really meant to write nice-Ash this way or you're just imagining it. But when nice-Ash has monents like this he's way better and i just wish it hapoened more often and was 100% confirmed, yknow? Most of the time in sinnoh he feels less like nice-ash and more like nothing-ash or changes-every-day-into-whatever-the-plot-requires-him-to-be-ash. But in sun and moon season they have all those more slice of lifey and emltional plots and he's the more nicer ash that i always wanted, and i love it!
Anyway lol im going wildly off topic. Also fun fact i spell "the" wrong so much that "tge" is the first result in my autocorrect now...
Another thing i like is that these Joys seem to be a ghost type specialist family? The kids have a big pile of drifloon cuties and when the gang first arrived they saw a bunch of happy gastlys enjoying their stay at the inn. I like to think maybe all the ghosts they have are "drifty" types like that? I feel that the writers ppicked gastly cos the pokedex entry saying they blow away on the wind like drifloon. Cos this is actually the valley windworks adaptation episode! That was such a nice surprise when it turned out momma joy's husband was the windmill electrician guy!! He looks SO cute in the anime too! He's really chubby and has such a nice round face with a button nose and big anime eyes and a cute turquoise jacket electrician uniforn thing. And he's funny and goofy with his kids and very caribg and cautious about letting them ride home alone in the bad weather, and also he's a GIANT BADASS with an ampharos that thunderpunches the shit out of team rocket and defeats them before ash can even get there lol! Actually they never show what momma joy's main pokemon is? I like to think maybe its a gengar cos thats the most chansey-ish ghost type. And also itd mean the chubby guy has a tall and thin pokemon and his tall and thin wife has a chubby pokemon. Theyre such a cute couple so itd be even cuter!
Oh and i forgot to mention that everyone travels around via drifloon??? Thats so surreal when you consider their pokedex entries saying them carrying children is a bad thing that means theyre kidnapoing them. Like, they domesticated a very dangerous pokemon and now it uses its dangerousness for the powers of good instead! Maybe its just the anime censoring a scary thing or maybe it was intentional to show how badass this momma joy is that she could tame so many spoopy ghosts that everyone thinks are pure evil? Seriously i LOVE how they show this family working to protect and heal the local wild pokemon and them all being super friendly to humans because of it. And it makes sense theyd be ghost tyoe trainers cos if youre befriending all the pokemon in a forest youre bound to find a few lost souls. Mountains and forests are like the deadliest areas for travellers so mountain forests especially so! Everyone's lucky they have this badass family team watching over the area like guardian spirits~
OH SPEAKING OF WHICH
I forgot to mention that the main conflict of the episode is that the joy sisters have a fight because the older sister is a bit overprotective and dismissive of her little sister, causing her to be reckless and get lost trying to "be grown up and help mommy". And in the end the big sister rescues her with the help of the guardian spirit of the hot springs and they reconcile their differences and have big cute hugs! Its all very well written and dramatic actually.i really felt for the older sister's determination to save her, and i felt it was a good case of a conflict where both of them were wrong and both made mistakes and it was just like they coulda avoided those mistakes if they talked it out better. And both of them had a point at the same time, yknow? So it didnt end with either of them losing the argument or anything, it was more like the lesson is just to appreciate your siblings while theyre there and also talk about your problems in clear language with younger kids instead of using excuses like "you just cant, cos im older and i said so".
Oh also SUICUNE!
The super onsen spirit is suicune?? The little sister just casually mentions her biggest best friend in the forest is suicune and is surprised when ash says its a legendary! Wow thats actually a really cool idea? You wouldnt necessarily think of it cos you kinda think of hot springs for the hot part but theyre also a sort of super clean water like how suicune is meant to be able to purify polluted lakes. Maybe it came here to make its nest cos places that are already purified are comforting to someone who wanders the earth blasting stinky water with its powers every day. I like to think maybe this is the same suicune from Generations where they said the legendary beasts are roaming legendaries because humans treated them as demons when they first walked out of the ashes, and now theyre still scared of us even centuries later. Itd be sad if they literally kept running forever, so i like to think they all have a comforting spot to sleep in, somewhere. And for suicune its this little isolated lake in the sinnoh region which used to be super far away from human civilization. But then this family's ancestors built this hospital here and suicune was initially like "oh no my house is ruined" but then it saw that these humans were helping protect tge forest pokemon too. So its like "ah fellow coworkers" and theyre the only humans it trusts. And whenever theyre in trouble it sneakily helps them and dashes away before it can be seen, but one day it got unlucky and the kids saw it and now OH NO it is stuck havibg CUTE TINY FRIENDS! I bet the littlest joy just treats suicune like a big puppy, and this great noble beast of legend plays along because it loves her so much. But if anyone else sees it demeaning itself with a game of fetch, it would be Total Social Death In The Legendaries Club
Anyway there's some cute moments of Emotionally Wise Kind Ash The Best Of All Ashes where he finds the lost little-joy and he tries to cheer her up when she's scared by the storm and keep her dry from the rain. And he has absolute faith that his friends will come to save them both! The only thing i think coukd have maybe made it better is if the big sister joy didnt beleive in suicune? Cos it just ends with her going to ask suicune for help and then suicune helps. There's a lack of tension cos you know suicune could easily resolve all this and you already know suicune is real cos the lil sis says that big sis told her to keep it a secret cos its a Big Deal and Bad People Could Take Suicune Away and stuff. Like it might have worked better if the big sis thought that little sis was just making up rumours to be all boastful, or playing with an imaginary friend. Then her going to ask suicune for help would have symbolized something, yknow? And the audience might have been tense about whether it was real or not.
But even without that added suggestion it was still a great episode! Lots of cuteness, emotionalness, familyness and a few great jokes along the way! Also i just loved them giving unique character designs and a full backstory to these minor npcs from the game. Whenever i play it now i'm totally gonna headcanon this all as true! I mean all we know about the daughter character in the game is that she says "papa youre stinky but i still love you" and that feels very in character for the slightly mischievious little sis joy that we meet in this episode. Though you only see the one daughter and she acts like she hasnt caught a drifloon yet and dreams of seeing it if you can fix the windmill problems so it'll come back. So maybe the game version takes place a little before the anime? Like, that daughter is the engineer dad's daughter from a previous relationship and the older daughter is joy's daughter from a previous relationship. And i dunno maybe lil daughter's hair colour actually is the generic npc brown from the games but she begged her momma to dye it so she could match. Like she just loves her new momma and sister so much!! And now the struggling mountain poke-center is doing better because both parents work difderent jobs now and have enough money combined to be able to keep the family in a better quality of life. And maybe the team galactic incident at the valley windworks got it a bit of publicity as a tourist destination? and after the daughter caught that drifloon everyone who visited was like GOSH ITS SO CUTIE and the dad was like "yes our special windmill attracts these pokemon that are normally only found high up on the mountains, speaking of which my wife runs an inn up there and you can go on pokemon wildlife tours to see them in their natural habitat!" And just I LOVE THESE GUYS AND I WANT THEM TO HAVE ALL THE SUCCESS IN THEIR LIFE!! There is NOTHING better than "hey we're adapting this gane what should we do?" "Add MORE FAMBLY" Like oh my god whoever had that wonderful idea should be promoted!
Thus ends bunni's disjointed review of FAMBLY EPISODE
