Summary: 

      With Covid-19 driving everyone to go into a global pandemic it begins a new era of media. Lance McClain is a 25-year-old live streamer with famous high school friends, Pidge and Hunk. It encourages his friend Hunk to invite him to an Among Us discord where he plays alongside Pidge’s Esports team. It brings about a new era for the gaming community as his videos begin to grow in numbers in little over two weeks.

      Keith is a faceless YouTuber with too much to lose. He’s famously known amongst the gaming community for his silent gameplays of the popular game: VOLTRON. Garrison owned and awarded game of the year. Between keeping his identity hidden and trying to continue his career, he faces challenges he never thought would happen to him. Trying to deal with the media putting him under fire for something he didn’t do and dealing with a stalker, he turns to the one person he didn’t think he would find comfort in, Lance.

       Now with a full-blown investigation underway, Lance’s own issues revolving around his family, both Keith and Lance come to an agreement. Being roommates in exchange for pretending they're in a fake relationship. At least until things die down. You know, like imposters. But in real life.

a/n; Finally posting my very first VLD fic!!! I’ve already posted the first five chapters on ao3 a day or two ago. It’s taken me time to post it here on tumblr cuz I’ve been busy ughhhhh it’s been a little stressful lately lol. Anyways! I’ll be bulk uploading this fic. If any of you know me or have read any of my previous content you guys would know I would write the entire fic before actually posting it. I mainly like that method of writing cuz I don’t want to stress myself out to force an update when I want to do the story justice and to it’s readers by giving them quality content. So! First 5 chapters are uploaded and then in a later date another 5 chapters will be uploaded and this cycle will continue until the end of the fic. Anyways! Enjoy! Beware of the tags cuz at some points of this fic it gets intense.

I have an AU of Among Us, but the AU doesn’t have a name yet, so I call it AUAU. Anyways, here’s the AUAU Crew!!!

Cyderi, Deziya and Rezique are the imposters, however, Cyderi and Deziya refuse to hurt the others on the ship, so Rezique gets angry, yada yada, this and that. I would explain more, but I’m too tired to. B)

Majority of the designs are fanmade, and not from the actual game. One of the only designs that are ingame is the balloon on the head, but as far as I’m aware, that’s it.

In this AU, it takes place in the Airship. 15 Crew mates work together to perform tasks and help each other while one oddball is the imposter and has to try to get the other crew mates. Only this time, instead of killing them, he has hypnotic powers, which helps him lure them into a private area and lock them in so they can't escape and run to alert the others! Plus, a twist! The imposter has a crush on one of the crew mates! Can you guess which one? I'll be working on the story some time soon! Other than that, I hope you get the idea of this AU.

I’m going to upload these 5 chapters and then publish all the edited previous chapters so you guys don’t have to wait so long. I primarily wanted to upload all edited 15 chapters together cuz the new chapters will cause a little confusion since I’ve added more dialogue/interactions etc. I mainly did this to fill in the plot holes when it comes to the previous 10 chapters. I’m sorry if the new chaps cause some confusion but plz bare with me 🥺 you ARE welcomed to reread chapters 1-10 once I upload the new edited versions of them but you don’t have to and I will understand if you guys want to stop reading after all of these editions/time. IMPOSTERS TWITTER POLL!

Hihi! I’ve been really quiet on here but trust me, I still look at stuff on this platform lmaooo. Anyways, I come with a poll! On my Twitter! On there you’d find my inner dilemma whether to upload the new IMPOSTERS chapters now or wait until all previous 10 chapters are edited so yall can read all 15 chapters together. I primarily wanted/have been editing all previous 10 chapters because I’m unsatisfied with how I wrote everything and there is a lot of plot holes I’d like to fill. I didn’t think IMPOSTERS would get enough attention for me to actually apply my writing skills and I’ve been struggling writing wise so I used IMPOSTERS as practice whether it was bad or good and uploaded it without beta-ing or much line editing. Editing is my enemy and I don’t enjoy it as much as I wish that I did but I’m trying to find enjoyment in it, especially when so many ppl like IMPOSTERS enough to stick around and wait for updates. I wanna do yall justice and give you guys a good read and actually go back and edit all chapters to match my current standards. I know as a writer I may never be satisfied with the end result but I at least want to not hate what I already uploaded. That and I used IMPOSTERS to practice my Spanish writing since writing and reading in Spanish is something I struggle with as a Spanish-Speaker; and I thought it’d be more ✨authentic✨ if I added actual Spanish dialogue but in the end I think it adds to the difficulty in readability and connection to Lance’s character and his traumas and development throughout the story.  

Alright! That’s it for my long rant and if you’re a reader of IMPOSTERS (thank you for sticking around this long, I know it’s been a long time since I’ve uploaded and I feel like shit for not uploading fast enough) go leave a little vote on my Twitter whether you’d like to see the new chapters now or later! 

(and by now I mean, in like a couple of days lmaoo I’ve been loaded with work, school, separate writing projects that I’m trying to balance everything out. But trust, I have all five chapters written out (mind you, they’re long as shit, like 40 pages long) I just need to edit them a little more and go through it once more before the official upload happens.)
