of fever dreams and jamais vu
And, of course, like all fever dreams, he had to wake himself up from it. (But this one? This one was real.)

a/n: there were a lot of songs that i listened to while writing this (animals) and i do have a playlist of them but i would recommend color tv to listen while reading the flashback part bcs i did write this part with that song on repeat lol. enjoy!
All the world and his wife was scrutinizing Ken Sato the moment he stepped out of the airport and took his first deep breath in his homeland after twenty years. Of course, he welcomed and basked in the attention even if it suffocated himâquite literally, he must add, what with how the reporters and photographers were almost wrestling each other to get a scoop on him. What came after that only gave him a headache after a headache. He had to settle in his new residence, a mansion he bought just 15 minutes away from where his father lived, one that felt way too big for just one person and his supercomputer assistant. He finalized his contract with the Yomiuri Giants, followed by a meeting with all the staff members and a less-than-formal outing with his new teammates to some club in Shibuya he didnât bother to remember the name of, where he was just constantly reminded that he was alone. The day after that, he had to deal with a hangover, a press conference, and an interview that ticked him offâAmi Wakita, was it?âbefore ending the night with a bar fight that left his shoulder aching.
Ken was sure he wouldnât even have considered moving back to Japan nor would he have let his father somehow slip back into his life if it wasnât for his mother.
With his injury, your father needs you, kiddo.
And so, Ken Sato began his baseball career in Japan with the Yomiuri Giants. He brought the team to their first victory of the season despite a lot of things: how the media was still on his ass about why he would leave his career with the Los Angeles Dodgers behind, how Coach Shimura seemed to have a chip on his shoulder when it came to him, how the pain in his own shoulder would stab and dull with every movement he made. The way his shoulder ached left him wondering if he should have treated it more seriously rather than seeing it as an inconvenience, perhaps put his pride aside to admit that yes, that drunken brawl was fucking stupid, and my shoulder fucking hurts. That was why he didnât think much of it when Coach Shimura was talking about bringing in some new guyâsomething about a new performance analyst or whateverâas a matter of fact, he couldnât care less.
So, imagine his surprise when he showed up to practice and saw a face he hadnât seen since graduating college in the States. A face that made his breath hitch because one, she was just that beautiful, and two, he had no idea why she would be here. A face that was so familiar he almost threw up from shock, anger, guilt, longing. A face that contorted into contempt at the mere sight of him.
Ken Sato was sure of one thing at that moment.
He was completely, utterly, thoroughly fucked.
Ken Sato wasnât always the famed world-class baseball star he turned out to be, and she wasnât always the blunt and tight-lipped new analyst for the Yomiuri Giants she turned out to be.
He was a doe-eyed, lanky Japanese kid who had above average grades in his classes and showed promising results as a slugger for the baseball team. He spent most of his freshman year being stereotyped and made fun of for how he looked and talked, and it only changed because he had his growth spurt in sophomore year. Not only did he become a cleanup hitter by the end of the year, girls were suddenly giving him bedroom eyes in the hallway and guys tried to make up for their borderline bullying by letting him into their cliques. His friendships with them were shallow, really, because they would still poke fun at this old accent even after he had nearly perfected his American accent. Ken took it in stride only because he knew everyone would never make fun of him in baseball, not when he had practically put his school on the map by winning tens of titles and playing in the Senior League. And so, by the end of high school, Ken had baseball to thank for almost everything in his teenagehood.
She, on the other hand, came to high school smart and pretty. Where Ken stood out like a sore thumb, she stood out like a broken finger. Someone being academically gifted and socially relevant was practically unheard of at that time. She was among the top 10 students in freshman year, earned her spot as the leadoff hitter for the softball team in sophomore year, won a national debate championship in junior year, and passed 4 AP classes with flying colors in senior year. She, too, had put the school on the map, perhaps even more contributively than Ken did, so the teachers only kept their grievances for when she skipped class to smoke. Even so, everyone seemed to like her regardless of their cliques; she was always greeted in the hallways, was almost always invited to every party, and had gone out with all the popular students. She could have had it all, and whatever her secrets were, Ken and the other students in their school only knew her as the high school sweetheart, the kind you would see printed next to the definition of high school sweetheart itself.
Ken had seen her in passing during freshman year, but he never really talked to her until they shared three classes together in sophomore year. He remembered that she had approached him first during PE, suddenly speaking to him in fluent Japanese that he nearly had a whiplash. She told him that yes, I know youâre also Japanese and sorry I didnât talk to you sooner, then babbled something about how she felt guilty that she had just been watching while others made fun of him. He didnât think much of it at first, still surprised that one of the popular girlsâif not the popular girlâin his year was actually talking to him. But then, he found himself understanding every word she said whenever she talked in Japanese and replying to whatever she was saying in English; he found himself exchanging notes and numbers with her in math class; he found himself going to the baseball field with her during lunch breaks and seeing who could hit the farthest. He was somehow roped into bringing her home after he offhandedly mentioned her to his mother, and then, they somehow became best friends. He would cover for her whenever she skipped class to smoke, much to his dismay, and she would introduce him to other social circles outside his baseball team, where he found his first girlfriendâwho, admittedly, broke up with him because the way he spoke about his âbest friendâ was laced with more adoration than the first kiss he had with her. He would wait until their practice sessions were over and drive her home, where they would spend at least three hours talking on her porch before he went home, and she would show up to his games with an obnoxious handmade banner that read âKEN SATO THE G.O.A.T,â cheering the loudest whenever he hit a home run. He would pick her up from anywhere almost every time she asked, even if he had to get himself out of bed at two in the morning, and she would hang out at his place every other weekend, bringing fruit baskets and takeouts for his mother. It was somewhat domestic, how she settled in his apartment (and his life) whenever she came over. Ken almost always had to ground himself because his brain would feed him thoughts of a future with her, and his heart would beat so hard it threatened to break out of his ribcage.
But they were just best friends, he thought and said to his friends whenever they asked him about her. Best friends who happened to suck off, eat out, and eat each otherâs faces pretty regularly. He found it funny at first, really; one time, their classmates told her that she just wasnât human, what with how she juggled school and being popular. She only laughed it off, but he thought of how right they were when she came over while he was home alone at the end of sophomore year. There was no way the girl kneeling between his legs was fucking human. Not with that tongue of hers. Not with the way she looked up and batted her eyelashes at him. Not with how she literally gulped down his load in one go and played Tekken on his console as if she hadnât just given him the best head of his life. She quite literally sucked the soul out of him that day, and he never had another head like that ever since. Even as they started hooking upâstrictly platonic, she said, and he just went along with whatever she wanted as long as it was with herâthat was still the stuff of his wet dreams, and it remained that way even long after they never saw each other again.
âDo you think weâll be friends forever?â
The question caught Ken off-guard not only because it broke the comfortable silence between them, but also the feelings it evoked. Where is she going with this? he thought. A frown was etched on his face as he turned to look at her. Under the soft glow of the star projector in her room, she laid on her back, eyes tracing the constellations that danced across the ceiling. Her breathing was far more steady than his, chest rising and falling slowly behind the thin fabric of his shirt. Her hair fanned out around her on the pillow, framing her face as if it was her halo. At that time, her expression was probably the most serene and somber he had ever seen. Sheâs beautiful, he said to himself, and he thought it wouldnât be so bad to keep a picture of this moment in his head for his selfish reminiscing should they ever stop being friends. (He hardly thought she meant that they could be more than friends, and he didnât want to entertain the thought of not having her in his life.)
âYeah?â He answered and mentally cursed himself for sounding so unsure. After clearing his throat, he corrected himself: âI mean, yeah, why not?â
There was no way she hadnât seen the way he was staring at her from the corner of her eye. Even if she did, she didnât turn her head to face him and only hummed in response to his answer. A look of contemplation appeared on her face as she kept quiet for nearly another minute. Ken swore it felt like an eternity.
âWhat ifââ She sighed. âWhat if we fuck up and hurt each other? What then?â
Ken somehow knew that she already knew that there was no way she could ever fuck him up. (She already did, anyway, literally and figuratively.) Not with how he looked at her, not with how he reached out to hold her hand, not with how he promptly turned his head to face the ceiling once she was turning to look at him. Perhaps, what she was looking for was the reassurance that he wouldnât fuck her up. He squeezed her hand when the thought crossed his mind.
âIâll still be your friend anyways,â he said, softly, his voice barely above a whisper.
A chuckle left her lips then. She didnât let go of his hand as she moved to hover over him, replacing the twinkling manmade constellations in his sight. (He thought she was brighter than any star in the sky, anyway.) He raised his brow when he saw the mischievous glint in her eyes as she leaned down, her lips nearly closing in on his.
The grin she had on her face was enough to tell him she was up to no good. âAre you a masochist?â
âYouâseriously?â
He mightâve groaned from annoyance, but the way her body shook with laughter on top of him was enough to make that godawful warmth bloom in his chest. He pulled her in for a kiss, though he wasnât sure if it was to shut her up or if he just wanted to, and he thought that if anyone were to see them like this, no one would ever believe him if he told them that they were just best friends. Hell, everyone had enough of his answer whenever they asked him about it at school, and he was even picked on again at some pointâbut not for how he looked or talked. No, he was picked on for being her âbest friendâ because no matter how many people had tried to make her theirs, she kept coming back to him. But then they would find Ken making out with one of the cheerleaders under the bleachers and her sucking off some guy from the football team at some seniorâs house party. It was confusing for everyone, but even more so for Ken, because every time she asked him to pick her up from God-knows-where, he would see red when she saw her huffing out a smoke, disheveled because of someone who was not him.
And, of course, like all fever dreams, he had to wake himself up from it.
ââSato.â
Two things snapped Ken out of his trance then. First, it was the voice that called out to him, then it was the pain in his shoulder. Ken found himself standing on the batter box in Tokyo Dome, a bat in his hand, and his breath was ragged. The seats were empty, the sky was turning dark, and then he remembered that he was at practice. He was at practice, not on the porch at her old house in Los Angeles holding her close as she cried over that one guy who supposedly broke her heart. He was at practice, not at the frat party where he met her again for the first time after months of no contact and saw her giggling on the lap of some jock. He was at practice, not in front of the diner they used to go to almost every other day where he said awful things he didnât mean and maybe, just maybe, that was the reason why she had left for Japan the next day. (She had waited for him to come to the airport, to at least apologize, but he never came. He had turned off his phone during practice.)
Ken sighed and lowered his bat, hissing when he rolled his left shoulder. He steadied his breathing and regained his composure before his eyes flickered to the field. His teammates were waiting for him to hit another ball so they could continue their fielding practice. Then, he turned to the one in front of himâYoshida, right?âwhose voice pulled him out of his train of thought. Yoshida raised his brow when he locked eyes with Ken.
âAre you distracted or something?â
It was his turn to frown. âWhat?â
âAre you distracted by the new girl or something? You kept looking back at the dugout earlier.â
Ken almost dropped his bat when he heard that, his neck turning so quickly that he was surprised he didnât give himself a whiplash. âWhat?â
Yoshida nodded in the direction of the dugout, and Ken turned to look. His grip around the bat tightened as his eyes darted towards the dugout. Her back was facing the field, leaning against the metal fence that divided the field and the dugout. Her arms held a clipboard to her chest, and he could only see her side profile from where he was standing as she spoke with Coach Shimura. The two of them looked familiar alreadyâhe really didnât know how she did it, given that he was still at odds with the coach, but it was so her, he thought, the way she could get along with all the people he couldnâtâas Coach Shimura was talking more expressively with her than he had ever seen him. She was nodding to whatever Coach Shimura was talking about with a smile on her face, one that didnât reach her eyes, and he berated himself because why and how the fuck could you tell from this distance? Kenâs lips parted as Coach Shimuraâs expression changed and nodded in his direction, and his breath hitched as he saw her turning slightly towards him.
Kenâs heart dropped as the smile on her face faltered, replaced by an unimpressed look and an air of disdain that made him shiver. The world seemed to stop right then and there; even when she looked at him as if he was the reason behind her sufferingâwhich was probably true, to an extentâhe couldnât help but think of how beautiful she was. Even with the hint of blood between her slightly cracked lips and the dark circles under her eyes that she didnât bother to hide with some concealer. Even with how she looked even paler than she was when they were still in Los Angeles and how her cheekbones seemed to protrude and her cheeks seemed more hollow. She was beautiful, yet she contrasted her old self, which bothered him so much that dread started to pool in his stomach. Ken knew her and would even say he knew too much of her. But, right at that moment, it was as if he was looking straight into a strangerâs eyes and not the pair he had fallen in love with, as if he was looking at the stuff of his nightmares and not the girl of his dreams, as if he had never known her at all.
(What if it was true?)
Ken pinched his arm, hard, and winced when the pain seared through his body and kickstarted another throbbing ache in his shoulder. None of the stuff of his fever dreams, the dread and peculiarity of it, should have been real. This was real. So, if this was real, then God must not only be fucking joking, but He mustâve been thoroughly fucking evil to be putting him through this.
âOh, fuck.â

Can a âđđđâ gal and a âđđżđ©žâ gal really be besties? Sure seems like it so far.
Based on a scene from Ward 3.3
Recently finished Ward Arc 3! Thoughts below:
Been a while since my first post on Ward, a couple of thoughts:
Arc 2
I like the slower pace so far (weâll see how long that lasts i suppose). Nice to get little moments like Victoria going to interviews and visiting the kids at the hospital.
Zion really gave one last middle finger to humanity and said âYou know what? Automated random horrific death triggers.â Jokes aside, the broken trigger scene was haunting, might draw something based on it in the future.
The therapy group superhero team premise is interesting. Nice to have a band of characters who have mental or emotional weaknesses but have each otherâs backs! Now letâs see who theyâre up agaisnt- oh, Tattletale? Oh no.
Not too many thoughts on the arcâs interlude, a lot of nice worldbuilding which is always welcome.
Arc 3
Capture the Flag was a fun premise for a friendly fight, and it delivered pretty well in showing off everyoneâs powers, strengths and weaknesses. Also nice to see Victoria filling a more mentor/coach role and getting to flex the experience sheâs gained with her power in a more positive light. Have some drawing ideas once I figure out how exactly I want to depict stuff like her aura.
Liking the new team so far, though still need to wrap my head around some of the finer details of the powers. Definitely gives me Jojo vibes in how the powers are more complex in the sequel/s.
I realized quickly that Kenzieâs powerset is a lot like my character from my friendâs Worm campaign (which I might write more about later on). Also a surveillance/drone Tinker, though with more focus on multiple drones and material efficiency than Kenzieâs big boxes of large scale holograms and photo-distortion.
Seems the group all have their own little secrets and/or problems they need to work through. Please Vic donât let any of them near Tattletale they would practically be a freebie for her to take down.
Ok, no Birdcage as I learned from last post. But is there, like, a dead Earth with a one way portal to toss Carol into? Is Sleeper still occupying Earth Zayin? Maybe we should send Carol there on a free vacation I hear itâs a lovely time in⊠whatever the effect of his power is.
Evil Robot Grocery⊠ok how do you even fight that. I guess itâs an S-class Threat for a reason but like what option is there other than quarantining and bombarding the entire area theyâve spread to? Do EMPs work? Put Ghost Bakuda to good use and make that Arc 6 Bomb to knock them all out?
Silly rodent themed hero. Close enough, welcome back Mouse Protector Ratcatcher. Also gonna toss her on the list of âcharacters I should draw some time.â
Amy Dallon finally speaks, and looks like sheâs making friends! Friends that are all (at least former) supervillains! That are encouraging her down a darker path! I can only see good things happening here. A little surprised we get her this early from an Interlude rather than from a main chapter, though I suppose it does make sense to flesh her out more now rather than waiting until Victoria directly sees her again in whatever state sheâs in by that point (probably a bad one).
Thatâs all the Ward thoughts I could think of at the moment. Will be reading more, next update hopefully wonât take 2 months again (but probably will)

Single dad Gale x Baseball coach Bucky AU Part 3 (Finale!)
Read Part 1 here.
Read part 2 here
Amie is convinced her dad is starting to get suspicious.
She saw the way he stared at Coach Egan when he picked her up from school. He barely blinked. He was definitely getting suspicious.
The Coach Egan tells the team their first game is in four weeks, and a very big clock in Amie's head starts to tick.
Because she's excited about the game and she wants her dad there. But when he finds out she lied, she's positive it's going to be one of the rare times he absolutely loses it.
Then, her next day in school Coach Egan wants to see her after practice. And he doesn't tip toe around the subject.
"Why does your dad think I'm your track coach, Amie?"
A habit she'd inherited from her dad, Amie flushes read like she's just been caught in the cookie jar. She tries to stammer and bluster her way out of it, but there's no mirth on coach's face and she stops talking completely.
"Does he even know you're on the team?"
She shakes her head.
"He should. He'd be proud of you."
She doesn't mean to scoff but it comes out anyway. Her dad will be too busy being furious to be proud of anything.
And that's when Coach Egan upends her whole twelve-year-old world.
"You tell about the team, and have him sign a new slip, which he'll hand in to me himself by next practice. Or I'm sorry Amie, but you can't be on the team. And I'll have tell your dad about this myself."
She doesn't like this stern side of the coach and runs out of his office upset and embarrassed.
At home, she storms right up to her room, ignoring her dad calling after her.
After a good scream into her pillow, she writes I Hate Coach Egan several times over in her journal. But then she feels terrible and rips the page out and stuffs it in the trash.
She resolves that she's not going to next practice, or any practice ever again, so there's nothing to tell her dad. It breaks her heart a little (a lot), but she'd rather that than face the music.
It takes her dad a few days to clock on. But he does notice her despondency. When he asks about track which usually always has her so chipper, she tells him she was cut from the team.
Gale is incensed and threatens to march down to the school and give them a piece of his mind. But Amie begs him not to and he reluctantly agrees.
Until he finds a crumpled up bit of paper that says I Hate Coach Egan on it over and over again.
He takes a day off work - a day he knows Amie never used to have practice and schedules a meeting with Egan for 11am when she's still in class.
He storms into that office and Egan goes from pleased to alarmed in half a second.
"What the hell did you say to my girl?!"
Egan looks a little miffed himself at that and starts to get out of his chair, but Gale slams the bit of paper down on his desk.
Egan looks at it and frowns, and dares to look hurt, even. "Jeez, Cleven. A little harsh."
And that unleashes all of Gale's fury. He lets all his frustrations out and berates Egan for getting kids' hopes up and claiming to build their confidence, only to tear them all down. Only caring about winning and not about the kids. He calls Egan callous and cruel and grits his teeth and clenches his fists to stop himself from reaching across the table and strangling this man.
When he says Amie refuses to so much as even talk about track anymore, Egan finally cuts him off.
"That's what she told you? Track? Do I look like a track coach to you? Buck, I only run if there's a base at the other end or there's a dog on my ass."
Gale does not understand a single word he's saying. "What?"
"Bad weekend in Germany." The Egan calls in the Assistant Coach and tells him to fetch Amelie Cleven, pronto. "I think you're better hearing this from her," he says.
He invites Gale to sit but he doesn't. He just stares at Egan, half scowling, half bewildered until finally a very sorry looking Amie is ushered into the office.
She refuses to look at her dad or Coach Egan, but the latter is well versed in sullen pre-teens by now. He asks Amie if there's anything she wants to tell her dad. Gale wants to tell him to back off, but he sees how guilty Amie looks and he doesn't know which way is up.
"What is going on, Amie?"
And it all comes spilling out. Amie loving baseball and knowing he wouldn't approve of her trying out, never mind joining the team. About forging his signature on the permission slip for try outs (John shows him the form) and lying to him for weeks.
Gale hasn't ever felt such a mix of sadness, disappointment, anger and guilt. But it's all aimed at himself. He feels like a failure, that his daughter didn't feel like she could come to him. And that she was probably right - he wouldn't have reacted well.
"You shouldn't have lied to me, Amie," is all he can say.
Amie's eyes fill with tears and Gale thinks his might, too, and Egan gently breaks in.
"Mr Cleven. I know it's not my business. But Amie is good. Really good. And the team love her. you said yourself that she enjoys it and it's helped her build confidence. is it really so bad if she plays?"
Gale's slumped on the chair in front of Egan's desk and Amie sidles up to him and plays with the hem of his sleeve like she's not sure she's allowed.
"I'm sorry I lied. But I really want to play, daddy."
An oh, she hasn't called him daddy in years. She knows, it, he knows it, and judging by the smirk Egan is trying to hide, he goddamn knows it to. But she's pulling out the big guns.
Gale can't help himself. Never can when it comes to his daughter. He folds her into his arms and holds her tight. He murmurs his own apologies into Amie's ear and where she can't see, he waves for Egan to get him a fresh slip and a pen.
Gale gently pushes Amie back and holds up the other piece of paper that brought him here. "I think you have something to say to Coach Egan, don't you?"
Flush and wide-eyed, Amie rushes out, "I don't hate you! Was...just mad when you said I couldn't play 'less my dad said so."
Egan accepts her apology gracefully and tells her he expects her at the next practice, and she can stay late to help him clean up to make up for everything - and Gale agrees.
Equal amounts relieved and humbled, Gale ushers Amie back to class, and mumbles a very hasty goodbye to Egan. Without looking him in the eye, he beats a hasty retreat
He's outside and halfway back to his car when he hears, "Mr Cleven!" behind him.
Egan jogs after him and stops a foot away, hands on his hips.
"I can't keep calling you Mr Cleven. What's your name?"
"Gale."
Without missing a beat, Egan says, "Nice to meet you, Buck. Name's John."
And then Gale is trying to stumble out an apology. "Look. I'm sorry I -"
"Can I take you out?"
Gale feels thoroughly derailed. "I..is that - is that allowed?"
John says "Yes!" very quickly and is almost shy as he rubs the back of his neck. "Uh, I mean, I can check. Again."
Despite himself, Gale chuckles. He feels a thrill of excitement and nerves. He's not dated anyone since Marge. But John is beautiful and charming and apparently very forgiving.
So he bites his lip and cocks his head and says, "Sure. Let's paint the town red."

A Cheerleader's birth
Amy was a pregnant teen, moreover she was a flyer in the cheerleading team of her school. She knew she fucked up when the pregnancy test came back positive and decided to hide it from everyone else. She acted like she gained some weight and purposely ate snacks in class to make everyone believe she was just gaining weight. Amy used to be a very lean fit girl who worked out regularly. When she initially know about her pregnancy, she remembered some of the fitness influencers having such small bellies because of their toned stomach and thought that would be the case for her too. She quickly found out she was wrong when the ultrasound turned out to be twins and started showing at just 9 weeks.
Initially, she could convinced she gained weight but her coach was not happy abouy it. How can a cheerleader most importantly a flyer could gain weight! Amy got several warnings since the coach was afraid her teammates won't be able to throw her into the air if she contined gaining weight. By the end of 15 weeks, her belly was noticeably bloating and she had no choice but to wear a shaper to suppress her growing stomach. Getting into that tiny shape wear is the worst and most uncomfortable thing but this is the only way to flatten her belly. She knew it was not good for her or the babies but she did not want to quit the team or the school since both are very important for her. She continued going to school and practising this way. Her doctor banned her form cheerleading because of the high risk of injury and accidents but as stubborn as she was, she just continued her way.
By the time she reached 20 weeks, she be wearing two shapers, first a large size to fit her belly then an extra small to squeeze in as much as possible. She was being careful during her practices too! Everytime her teammates accidntally caught or lift her up from her waist, she was scared to death for her babies since waist mean they be squeezing her belly and lifting up or catching without even realizing. And the coach wanted her to lose weight and kept waring.
When her babies reached 29 weeks, she couldn't help but use a waist trainer and three shapers, to bind her big twitching belly. She wore the extra large shaper pants, a large sized shaper bodysuit and lastly, a medium sized cami shaper. She bought the infamous 25 boned waist trainer which was claimed to sucessfully gave a flat belly and an hourglass body by inflnencers and many users. Even this many steps can't hide her belly completely. There was a very visible bump whatever clothes she tried to cover with. Without any of the restraints, her stomach was so huge and ahe couldn't see her toes or walk properly. All of these were really painful and umcomfortable for her although she endured it for the sake of her dreams and future.
One morning, the coach made a horrfying announcement. They would be having a competion with other schools in their state. It was a day before her due date! Shit! Shit! Shit! she thought to herself. And the coach just decided to increase their training time and to try out new moves. New moves! That was a nightmare because new moves would mean more falls.
The team trained overtime mastering old tricks and learning new moves. She did fell several times but most of the time they catch her and falls on side or back were luckily did not harm the babies. She got intense contractions after each fall as if her painfully hardening twin filled belly was about to break free from all the bindings. She wanted to remove those horrible things so badly and let her belly be as huge as it is and carass it to soothe the contractions. But in reality, she wasn't even dare to hold her belly or her aching back too afraid someone would notice.
Only 15 days before the competition. The coach was very unsatisfied with her body weight and shape. No matter how much she tried, she couldn't hide a pregnant mama's weight and figure. All the bindings were at their limit and yet anyone can spot the bump even from afar. So, he commands her to do some exercises for her weight. He had been asking for so long to lose weight and she even gained more. He was pretty furious. Everyday, she was to skip rope for 30minutes and run 5laps. These were quite intense even for a normal person let alone a heavily pregnant woman in her third trimester. The binders were kind of helpful in supporting her belly otherwise it would be bouncing up and down with each jump she made. She was so damn exhausted after rope skipping and running and her stomach was contracting so much that she could barely walk or breathe. She gritted her teeth enduring it not to let a single moan out. Being so exhausted, she lost her footing when they threw her into the air. She was supposed to make a twist mid air and land on her friend's shoulder. Instead, she couldn't make a complete turn and fall onto the friend's head belly first. It was like she headbutted her right in her mid section. The pain ripped through her and she wasn't able to get up by herself. She felt every sceond her belly was head shaped indented and her babies being squished into her organs. Other teammates help her up and sent her back home to rest.
She saw her doctor that evening. The babies are fine thankfully. The doctor was highly against her cheerleading from the very start. She told her most twin pregnancies end up delivering around 38 weeks and very rarely reach full term and to try not to move around so much let alone cheerleading. She stripped naked and looked herself in the mirror, holding her already dropped belly branded with a horrible looking bruise right in the middle.
Today was the day! Fortunately they were able to perform accident free almost to the end. But not the best and didn't win of course! No pregnant woman would be able to perform quick jerky flying and jumping moves with full energy. So, she wasn't any exception. During the ending post, the throwers were mean to carry her bridal style ( but not so much bridal style since she had to be lifted as tense as possible almost as if she was lying supine on the wooden plank), throw her up into the air, and to catch her back in the same position after she made a mid-air turn. But all the unfortunate things happened. The catcher failing to catch her back, her failing to make a complete turn, one thing lead to another she fell helplessly in the prone position, her belly slammed violently with the ground crashed between her own body and the hard ground. However, her teammates immediately thought of covering this mishap as an intentional move for the closing pose. The fall squished all the air in her lungs and she could not even scream. A gush of warm liquid came out of her but no one seemed to notice that. All she did was trying to lift herself of the ground but too painful and weak to do that. Her team immiediately lied down altogether in the same position as her and posed for pictures. The audience was im awe. They thought they witnessed a fall and yet this was actually part of the perfomance. The journalists came running to take picture while more water was coming out and she was still stuck in that position no pregnant woman was ever supposed to be in. Her face was contorted in pain, her belly contracting like crazy and she felt like she was about to pass out. Only after the press finishing up taking pictures, she was helped get back up. One teammate even said Oh you peed yourself? Huh?. As she stood up, she felt the babies entering her birth canal. It took a while to announce all the winning teams and gave them rewards. By the time eveything was over, a head was crowning between her legs. Then all the participants are called upon the stage to take a picture together. She waddles to climb up stairs to the stage with a head widening her pelvis. Some competitors were asked to stand and some to crouch down. She was unfortunately ask to lower herself abit so the others in the back could be in the picture. She squatted down wincing n pain as her contractions were getting longer and closer with almost no time in between. She fought the urge to push trying to hold the baby in. She had to squat for the whole shoot and by the time the shoot was over, her shapewear pants were already forming a huge bulge. She panicked and suddenly sat down on the floor so that the head would be forced back in. She got up slowly trying so hard so the babies would not slip out again. Then she called a taxi and head over to the hospital.

i dunno if this is something you talkabout but which acting class would you recommend for a newbie?
An acting question? đ„° I adore.
Ok, so time to be bluntly honest, to answer your question effectively I need to know what your goals are for this year. So I can recommend people that match that path.
For example, if you plan on booking your first co-star, that may be overreaching if you have no training experience or credits.
So I am going to assume that, since you wrote newbie, you have zero training. I am going to help hack into finding your target professionals that are in alignment with your goals.
You need to start by knowing yourself, what makes you unique and what the first impression is when you walk into a room. You can begin by doing this on your own to the best of your ability and then allowing others to share their perceptions with you. This could be acting coaches, brand coaches and even regular people who can give you a nonbiased opinion. (I can make a separate post about how to find your type and brand, if you need me too as I will only cover it lightly here)
Once you establish that, have a look at online streamers, movies etc and find characters that match your essence and core look. So let's say you are the girl next door type and you open up netflix and find all these shows where an actress of your same type (same look and similar essence) is featured. Now you know which projects you could potentially get called in for and what the genres are.
I recommend you pull up the iMDb pages of those shows and see who is attached to them, more precisely, the actress of your type, who is she repped by, who cast her, what is her resume, find information on her training online, if available. Now you have an idea about the professionals who cast or rep your type. Let's hone in on the right coach for you.
Based on the genres and types of roles you are ideal for consider what skills you need. Let's say your girl next door type of roles usually come with a comedic vein because that is a strong quality you have. This means improv and comedy classes would help you hone your natural talent. As for acting, research on who the people who match your type have trained with and you can also make your search more particular by finding coaches that have prepared actors for your target shows. For example, if you are the kind of girl next door that is tv series material, you could consider training with Amy Lyndon. She coaches people for television in a very effective way.
Once you've honed in on which coach matches your trajectory (by researching what their training focuses on, what their students booked, how effective their methods are for you, etc), go audit their class to confirm that they are indeed ideal for you. Most coaches allow you to audit for free and may even offer a complimentary session.
Next you train, train, train and while you are at it, I would recommend focusing on landing as many credit based roles as you can - there are acting schools and universities that make short movies and movies you could apply to star in, there are plays of lower levels, you could autoproduce short clips of your performing with the help of your friends. Anything that helps you get credits and showcase your talent. Word of caution: If you are self producing, ensure you get coached by your acting coach on the scene and get feedback on it prior to posting it online!
Note that what you train for will switch as your career evolves but your acting training needs to be constant even when you start booking co star roles, for example. Each tier you reach will require a new you. Self tape classes are a must nowadays so I highly recommend doing an acting class and a self tape one as well. Most auditions have switched to digital and a self tape is a completely different dynamic than an in person audition, you have to learn how to film production quality self tapes. Depending on your desired path you may end up taking commercial classes, improv, scene study, etc.
Again, not knowing any details about you, I cannot hone in on specific matches at the moment but, what I can do, is recommend great coaches you could consider. In no particular order:
Amy Lyndon (absolutely great if you want to book more television)
Ivana Chubbuck (the actor whisperer lol)
Kimberly Jentzen
Scott Sedita (for comedy especially)
Lesly Kahn (another great one for comedy)
Howard Fine
James Ciccone (this guy has a lot of receipts as a steady working actor)
Christine Horn (she mixes in spirituality and that makes her an even more effective coach)
I could go on but my point is that you want to look for the people that can propell your career to your desired level. Jim Carry studied with Ivana Chubbuck and learned to channel his traumas into comedy, she was at a certain of his life the right choice for him to develop his talent. No one road fits everyone, which is why you have to get very specific about what you desire to reach and who the people who can get you there are and, to do this, you have to simultaneously be very realistic about who you are and what you can do (range).
Sorry for this very long post but I got excited. Hopefully, it was written clearly, if not feel free to dm me or send in another ask.

What to stream this week: 'Young Sheldon,' Amy Schumer, 'Oppenheimer' and lots and lots of JLo
Christopher Nolan's âOppenheimerâ arriving on Peacock and a documentary and album from Jennifer Lopez are some of the new television, movies, music and games headed to a device near you.
Also among the streaming offerings worth your time as selected by The Associated Pressâ entertainment journalists: âYoung Sheldonâ returning for its seventh and final season, Dr. Henry Louis Gates Jr. exploring the power of gospel in a two-part PBS documentary and Ubisoftâs Skull and Bones pirate-themed video game.
â If you were holding out for âOppenheimerâ on streaming, nowâs your chance to catch up before the Oscars (March 10), where itâs up for 13 awards including best picture, best director for Christopher Nolan and best actor for Cillian Murphy. The film arrives on Peacock on Friday, Feb. 16. Nolan and Emma Thomas, his producer and wife, are passionate advocates of the big screen experience, but they also know that most people will watch their films in the home â sometimes even as their first time. Itâs how both discovered some of their favorites as well, theyâve said. In an interview with The Associated Press, Thomas added, âThe nice thing about Chrisâ films is because they are so very rich and reward multiple viewings, I think that theyâre perfectly pitched for home viewings.â
â Jennifer Lopez has a new movie coming to Prime Video on Feb. 16. She co-wrote âThis is MeâŠNow: A Love Story,â a movie musical about finding love which she called âthe most personal thing Iâve ever done.â It is a star-studded endeavor, with appearances from her husband, Ben Affleck, Keke Palmer, Sofia Vergara, Post Malone and more, and ties in with her first studio album in a decade (see below). Also coming to Prime Video is Emma Seligmanâs âgay high school fight clubâ comedy âBottoms,â starring Rachel Sennott and Ayo Edebiri as a few misfits who start a fight club to flirt with the hot cheerleaders (Kaia Gerber and Havana Rose Liu). In his review, AP Film Writer Jake Coyle wrote that, âThe rites and rituals of the raunchy high-school comedy can be as prescribed as a class syllabus. But what makes Emma Seligmanâs âBottomsâ such an anarchic thrill is how much it couldnât care less.â
â And finally, Taika Waititiâs âNext Goal Winsâ arrives on Hulu on Thursday. Itâs based on the real story of the American Samoa menâs soccer team quest to qualify for the FIFA World Cup after an historic loss (31-nill) against Australia. Michael Fassbender plays the coach who tries to help. In his AP review, Mark Kennedy wrote that ââNext Goal Winsâ is most winning in the way it handles the teamâs star player, Jaiyah Saelua, who became the first nonbinary player to compete in a menâs FIFA qualifier. Played with real tenderness and joy by nonbinary actor Kaimana, the way the team and coach relate to Saelua is genuine and touching."
â AP Film Writer Lindsey Bahr
â Get ready for a second dose of J.Lo. On Friday, Feb. 16, she drops the Amazon original film âThis is Me⊠Now: A Love Storyâ (see above) as well as her âThis Is Me⊠Nowâ album. The 13-track setâs song titles include âTo Be Yours,â âMad in Love,â âGreatest Love Story Never Toldâ and âDear Ben Pt. II,â a seeming sequel to a track on her 2002 album âThis Is Me ⊠Then.â The video for one new pop single, âCanât Get Enough,â has as much JLo strutting as all of Paris Fashion Week. Lopezâs last album, âA.K.A.,â came out in 2014 and reached No. 8 on the Billboard 200.
â Blackberry Smoke â a Georgia-based band that has been together for 24 years and seven studio albums â makes a strong return with âBe Right Here,â blending blues, Southern rock and Americana. The album contains the arena country âHammer and the Nail,â the rocking âLittle Bit Crazyâ and the driving, bluesy âDig a Hole.â The band goes more acoustic with the wistful âAzalea,â about a loved one making a wrong decision, with the lyrics âComing back donât mean you're leaving here was wrong/Sorry ainât the same as moving on.â
â AP Entertainment Writer Mark Kennedy
â In a new docuseries for PBS, Dr. Henry Louis Gates Jr. examines how sermon and song have long been a source of strength and wisdom in America, particularly among Black Americans. âGospel,â a four-part series told over two nights has interviews with Dionne Warwick, U.S. Senator Raphael Warnock and more. âGospelâ airs Monday Tuesday on PBS.
â Ben Mendelsohn and Juliette Binoche play Christian Dior and Coco Chanel in a new historical drama âThe New Lookâ for Apple TV+. The 10-episode series is set against the backdrop of Paris reemerging from Nazi occupation in WWII. Diorâs designs helped to lift an oppressed France and its culture with a stylish, modern glow up. As Dior rose to prominence, a rivalry developed between other established designers, including Chanel. âThe New Lookâ also stars Maisie Williams, John Malkovich, Emily Mortimer and Glenn Close. The first three episodes of âThe New Lookâ drop Wednesday on the streamer.
â Before Sheldon Cooper met Leonard, Penny or Amy he was a child prodigy growing up in east Texas. Iain Armitage plays the coming-of-age version of the character in the CBS comedy âYoung Sheldon.â Emmy winner Jim Parsons who played Sheldon on âBig Bangâ for 12 seasons, narrates. âYoung Sheldonâ returns for its seventh and final season on Thursday.
â Amy Schumerâs Hulu dramedy âLife & Bethâ charmed viewers when it debuted in 2022 and the series returns for a second season on Friday, Feb. 16. Schumer writes, directs and stars as Beth opposite Michael Cera, who plays John, a farmer. The two fell in love in season one despite their differences and personal baggage. Now, the couple is planning to marry. Schumer has said the story is semi-autobiographical, inspired by her real-life marriage to chef Chris Fischer. All 10 episodes of season two will be available on the premiere date.
â Alicia Rancilio
â Batten down the hatches: Ubisoftâs Skull and Bones is finally ready to launch after more than a decade of development and delays. You are the captain of a pirate vessel in the Indian Ocean in the 18th century. You have a decent ship to start with, but if you want to make it really deadly you need to start collecting booty. That means pillaging merchant ships, battling rival scalawags, dodging the authorities and even surviving the occasional sea monster on your way to becoming the Pirate Kingpin. You can team up with friends or fight against them in epic naval warfare â something Ubisoft has shown a flair for in some of its Assassinâs Creed games. Set sail Friday, Feb. 16, on PlayStation 5, Xbox X/S or PC.
â Focus Entertainmentâs Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden travels to the New World in the 17th century. The protagonists are a couple of paranormal investigators, Red and Antea, who are trying to clear the tormented wraiths out of a haunted settlement. They can help the lost souls ascend or banish them to eternal misery, and those choices have consequences down the line. It all gets more complicated when Antea gets killed â but fortunately she can use her supernatural powers to help Red finish the job. Banishers comes from the French studio Donât Nod, best known for story-heavy cult favorites like Vampyr and Life Is Strange. You can take possession Tuesday on PlayStation 5, Xbox X/S or PC.

An Origin Story pt. 7
Gabby Jay led the group of new and prospective fighters into the WVBA Boxing Academy Gym, the last stop on their tour. The gym was a sprawling, state-of-the-art facility, buzzing with activity. Fighters and trainees were everywhere, some practicing their craft in hopes of getting signed one day, others preparing for their next bouts.
"Mes amis, this is where the magic happens," Gabby Jay announced, his voice tinged with a thick French accent. "Here, you'll find everything you need to become the next WVBA champion."
Mika and Skye, who had become fast friends during the orientation, looked around in awe. "This place is incredible," Mika whispered to Skye.
"I know, right? It's like a boxer's dream come true," Skye replied, her eyes wide with excitement.
Gabby Jay led them through the different sections of the gym, showcasing the strength training area, the cardio machines, the boxing bags, and the eight rings designated for classes and sparring. "I look forward to seeing you all at 6 am in the cafeteria for breakfast. Make yourselves at home, and welcome to the WVBA," Gabby concluded, dismissing the group.
Mika's eyes caught sight of Niki Binary in one of the rings, shadowboxing under the watchful eye of her coach, Von Kaiser. "Come on, Skye, let's go say hi," Mika said, grabbing Skye's arm and leading her toward the ring.
Von Kaiser was intently focused on Niki, his thick German accent filling the air. "Gut, Niki, focus on your footwork. Remember, a strong foundation is key. Wenig Stahl, show me what you've got."
Niki moved gracefully around the ring, her feet gliding over the canvas as she threw a series of jabs and hooks into the air. Her concentration was palpable.
"Hey, Niki!" Mika called up to her.
Niki looked over and nodded, finishing her drill with a swift one-two combo. "Alright, let's take a quick break," Von Kaiser announced.
Niki jogged over to the ropes and sat down, her eyes meeting Mika's. "Hey, Mika! How's orientation going?"
"Great! Oh, this is Skye. We're roommates at the Campus Lodge," Mika introduced.
Niki extended her glove to fist-bump Skye. "Nice to meet you, Skye."
"Wow, you're Niki Binary, right? I saw your fight with Cutie a couple of days ago. You were amazing," Skye exclaimed.
"Thanks, it was a tough fight. So, how's orientation treating you both?" Niki asked.
Mika and Skye launched into a detailed account of their day, from the physicals to the tour of the campus. "The facilities are amazing, and the people seem really nice," Mika said.
"Yeah, and the gym is like something out of a movie. I can't wait to start training," Skye added.
Just then, Glass Joe approached, dressed in his workout gear. "Pardon, mesdemoiselles, but may I have a moment with Niki?"
"Of course, what's up, Joe?" Niki responded.
"My sparring partner couldn't make it today. Would you be able to help me out?" Glass Joe asked.
"I'd love to, but I'm training with Von Kaiser for the rest of the afternoon and sparring with Cutie later," Niki explained.
"We can spar with you!" Mika and Skye blurted out in unison, then looked at each other and laughed.
Niki chuckled. "Joe, meet Mika and Skye. They're here for orientation."
"Ah, bonjour, mesdemoiselles," Glass Joe greeted, his French accent lending charm to his words.
"Hi, Glass Joe! We're really excited to be here," Skye said.
"Yeah, we can't wait to start training," Mika added.
Glass Joe looked thoughtful. "Normally, we don't allow sparring with new boxers during orientation."
Both girls' faces fell, disappointment clouding their eyes.
"But," Glass Joe continued, "I'll go ask Hoy if we can make an exception."
Mika and Skye's faces lit up again. "That would be awesome," Mika said.
"Yeah, really awesome," Skye echoed.
Glass Joe nodded and headed off to find Hoy, leaving Mika, Skye, and Niki excitedly chatting about the possibilities that lay ahead. The WVBA was proving to be everything they'd hoped for, and they couldn't wait to dive in.

Ma Petite Fille - Stiles Stilinski

Romance Masterlist

Warnings : Coach Finstock!daughter reader, pÚre protecteur, fluff, dites-moi si j'ai loupé d'autres warnings !
Nombre de mots : 1.3K
Version Wattpad
Version anglaise sur Tumblr
Chanson qui m'a inspiré : First Man par Camila Cabello
Pourquoi t'as fait ça ?
- Quoi ? Non !
- Papa, voici mon petit ami. Stiles, révÚles-tu.

Wednesday ... it's Wednesday again.
The weeks just seem to be flying by! This week was of course punctuated by a major event. The US election took place on Tuesday, concluding what seems like an eternity of campaigning, and we feel that way all the way over here in Finland and we weren't even subjected to the barrage of US campaign ads and mailings and calls and yard signs that our friends and family in the US had to face on a daily basis. Experiencing this election from afar, from Europe, has been very odd. People here in Finland are interested in the outcome of the US election and they seem to be unilaterally opposed to Donald Trump. Alas, this man, who my husband and my children and I all find detestable, has once again claimed the presidency. I won't go into any more details about it in this post, because it's just too alarming and if I start detailing all of my reasons for concern, this blog post will just take a dramatic shift into a deep political and cultural analysis.
After some snow last weekend, the weather warmed again and most of the snow melted off. But on Monday and Tuesday there was still a lot of ice around and very slippery pavement. I've been convinced that I'm going to end up falling on my bottom at least a few times during our year here. I lived in Michigan for 12 years and I honestly don't remember ever wiping out on the ice there. I find that almost impossible, in retrospect, and I imagine that it probably did happen. Over the course of two days earlier this week, I seriously almost splatted on the sidewalk or in the parking lot on a number of occasions. I'm going to have to get those spiked to contraptions that go on my shoes.
Today, on Wednesday, it was in the mid-40s and was rather pleasant. I taught today and tomorrow I'm actually teaching again as I deliver a guest lecture on usability in a colleague's class. Also, this week, a podcast I did about the Yankton Dakota activist writer Gertrude Simmons Bonnin, otherwise known as Zitkala-Ć a, was released on the Breaking Down Patriarchy podcast. I recorded this episode this last summer. My cousin, a professor at the University of Utah, had a graduate student who was the host of this podcast. Somehow my cousin referred the host, Amy Alebest, to me, and she had an interest in learning more about Zitkala-Ć a, who I have written a lot about over the last 20 years. Anyway, I listened to the episode and I think it actually turned out quite well, and I guess that's saying something since I'm usually very critical of my own work and especially anything of me that's recorded!
Last week I wrote an email to the gymnastics school that Cece is a part of, asking whether I might be able to move her to a class that has a little bit more structure, more coaching/spotting, and is perhaps less of a recreational free-for-all, though I didn't put it in those terms. I heard back this week that she can do a trial class in a pre-competitive group at the beginning of December. If it works out, she'll move to that group. So she's excited to get ready for that. On Sunday, we went once again to the trampoline park in Kauppi and they also have some gymnastics equipment. So she and I worked a little bit on the USA Gymnastics Level 3 beam routine and we did some front handsprings, or rather I should say she did some front handsprings, and front flips on the trampolines. Rowan came too and did some rock climbing on the bouldering wall and on the big wall, with the auto-belay.
I don't have really anything else to report this week; the election results really took the wind out of my sails. But, perhaps some interesting and fun things will happen soon and I will tell you all about them in my weekend post. We know the weather is going to get colder again soon and once it's late November, things are going to get kind of hectic for us. I have a friend visiting from the US right before Thanksgiving, and then we have Fulbright Thanksgiving events in Helsinki, and then the next day we're flying up to Kuusamo to go skiing at the Ruka ski resort for the weekend, and then we come back, and the very next weekend, Cece has an ice-skating competition in JyvÀskylÀ. So, late November will have lots going on, so a relatively uninteresting week--relative to our activities, sights we've seen, or Finnish things we've learned-- like this one is just fine.

Single dad Gale x Baseball coach Bucky AU Part 2
Read Part 1 here. (Retcon alert! Gale's daughter Amelia is starting Junior High now, instead of High School. She's aged 12.
Amelia gushes about her first day of junior high, oblivious to the fact that her dad has been an emotional wreck all day. Not just because she's growing up far too fast, but because Marge isn't here to see it.
But Amie has reunited with a few friends from her elementary school and made a whole host of new ones. Gale is thankful that she inherited her sociability from her mother.
It's from these new friends that she starts to develop an interest in sports. Her and Gale have never been inactive. They love bike races and climbing trees and seeing who can skip stones the furthest. But Gale has never entertained sports in his life, and he never let Amie sign up for any teams in her last school.
But he doesn't miss the way she starts going on and on about a Coach Egan, and how fun he is in Phys Ed. No one ever gets left out, and rumour has it the only time you'll hear him shout is when he gets the first sniff of bullying in his class.
The school offers baseball, football, soccer and track. Her friends are all talking about try outs and Gale tries not to freak out be he's failing.
He tells Amie, "Mind what I said about those kinds of sports. Bring you nothing but trouble."
But she's stubborn, like both her parents, and she badgers and badgers him until he eventually gives in to let her try out for track. She'll still be able to be on a team like she wants, but she'll run her own race. And most importantly, he can't remember his dad ever betting on a track meet.
Only, Amie is the daughter of Gale Cleven and Marjorie Spencer, who spent their whole lives defying others' expectations and going their own way. And Amie has her heart set on baseball.
Coach Egan saw her run one day and told her she should try out for the team. Which was a big compliment, seeing as he is Coach Egan because he's the coach of the baseball team.
But she needs parental consent. So, she gets her dad to sign the permission slip for the track team, and carefully copies his handwriting onto the slip for the baseball team.
And she makes the team! It's a mixed team - not boys versus girls or any of that nonsense. Her bets friend Bianca DeMarco also makes the cut.
She is so excited when she gets home that she runs and jumps straight into her dad's arms, who catches her and spins her around without asking why. He's just delighted for her to be there now she's getting older and needs him less.
She gets a little carried away and almost gives away her subterfuge like, five times, but she manages to get away with it. Just.
Until Gale says he can't wait to go to her first race and cheer her on. He makes her promise to tell him when it is as soon as she knows, no matter how embarrassing he might be.
In her twelve-year-old mind, it's fine. Because she can't tell him something that's not going to happen.
So she continues to thrive in the baseball team. Coach Egan is tough but fair. One time when she gets frustrated from missing the ball too much, he talks her down and doesn't let her get back to it until he gets a smile out of her.
She tells her dad as much as she can without giving herself away.
Gale doesn't know a thing about track, but he does know a case of hero worship when he sees it, and Amie has it bad for Coach Egan. He sounds like a fair man, teaching the kids about hard work and dedication, and seems to make sure Amie has fun. So he's inclined to think well of him.
He picks Amie up from school one day as a surprise. He wants to take her out for a treat. He's waiting at the school gates when a man, patrolling the grounds in a sports jacket, shorts, long socks and sneakers spots him and walks up.
And Gale has to remind himself that he's at a school, his daughter's school - because that man has thighs. They could crack his head open like a walnut.
His waist is thick and his chest is broad and his shoulders wide. Even his neck has a pleasing girth to it, Christ.
And for the first time in a long time Gale thinks it has been far too long since he's had sex.
The guy is polite, but clearly scoping out why Gale is loitering around the school when he asks, "Y'alright? You need anything?"
It's an odd voice. Part mid-west, part New York. But Gale's charmed by it nonetheless.
"Just waiting for my daughter," he says.
"Mind if I ask who that is?"
"Amelie Cleven."
The man's face brightens now he knows Gale isn't some kind of pervert. He immediately takes Gale's hand, which he hadn't offered, and shakes it vigorously. It's warm and rough and he squeezes with just the right amount of pressure. And Gale has to calm down the thundering in his own ears so he doesn't miss a word of the man's enthusiastic praise for his daughter.
"Amie's a great kid! A lot of speed and determination. Bit hard on herself though."
It clicks, suddenly, who he's talking to. "You're Coach Egan."
Egan looks very pleased that Gale knows who he is. "The one and only."
The school bell rings, startling them both. Students start to pour out the doors and Egan bites his lip like he's deciding whether to stay or go. Gale opens his mouth, willing his brain to come up with anything to make Egan stay a little longer, when a ball of blonde hair bowls into him, and Egan puts several feet of space between them.
Gale tells Amie they're going out for a movie and dinner date as a surprise and she's pulling him to the car for more enthusiastically than he expected, hollering a quick "Bye!" to Coach Egan.
Gale opens her door for her and she climbs in. Before he gets in his own side, he wants to thank Egan properly, because Amie's been having such a good time in track. But he doesn't get more than a few steps closer before Amie's blasting the horn.
He jumps nearly a foot in the air and Gale tells her off with a sharp bark of her name and a threat to take them straight back home if she doesn't mind her manners.
Gale gives Egan a sorry smile and says, "Sorry. Movie and dinner wait for no man, not even her favourite track coach."
He climbs in the truck. Egan looks at him a little queerly, but Gale pretends that it's disappointment. When Egan walks away, he lets an extra car or two pass before he pulls out onto the road, so he can better appreciate the view.

COMMITMENTS
There is a saying. How you do one thing is how you do everything. I never noticed that before until recently since I took one hundred percent ownership of everything I do. I always have had a good work ethic, dependable, reliable. However, I feel like I haven't been on point with the Chronicles.
Life does happen. Things go haywire. It's easy to leave things at the wayside. However, that's excuses. If you want to do something bad enough, you'll do it. I have recorded 69 straight episodes of Breathe N Bounce without failing. Why can't I do the same with GC?
So I take a look into myself and say I love writing. I'm totally comfortable with sharing my feelings and being transparent. Why do I struggle with this? The last episode of BNB was in regards to time. Finding time to do the things we love. Finding time to give ourselves self care. It appears I need to take my own advice.
So I am making a commitment to you, dear reader. I will provide new material for the Chronicles every Wednesday before noon CST. That is my deadline I am giving myself. Sometimes we do better when we know there is an expectation to have something done.
So that is what I am doing.
My hip feels better and I did my first class this week. Going to try another workout this evening before practice. See how I feel. I did one in Colorado Springs Lifetime, and it went really well. Thanks to Coach Amy over there. Very good GTX class. I just started guitar lessons and studying my vendata treaties and doing observations and reflections daily.
So this is a chance to observe myself. This is important to me so I need to make it so.
Thanks for reading.
Namaste
