I’ve actually put some thought into what dog breeds/animals each character would be bc ofc i have!

Curses are either dog-adjacent or just. Not dogs.

ANYWAYS—

Yuji is either a husky or a wolfdog (probably a mix of both).

Nobara is a vizsla or a redbone coonhound.

Megumi is a mutt of some kind. I made him look like his demon dogs, so- he’s not anything very specific.

Gojo is a samoyed.

Nanami is a borzoi.

Geto is a german shepherd.

Shoko is a chocolate labrador retriever.

Todo is a rottweiler.

Maki and mai are bull terriers.

Inumaki is an akita inu.

Panda is. A panda.

Yuta is a border collie.

Mechamaru is one of them little robot dogs/j (he’s a doberman)

Momo is a cocker spaniel.

Miwa is an Italian greyhound.

Utahime is a saluki.

Sukuna is some fucked up wolf creature.

Mahito is a hyena.

Kenjaku is a brain eating ameba /hj

Hanami is either a white tiger or a snow leopard

Jogo is a mandrill monkey

Dagon is a giant squid ofc

Choso is a wolfdog like Yuji

Ino is this dog specifically

Mew (Makoto/Jupiter), Ayaka (Minako/Venus), Keiko (Rei/Mars) and Rika (Ami/Mercury) posted the occasion on their Twitter, Instagram and ameba blog accounts. (Rika posted within the last 30minutes, and with past records, Miyuu will likely post something soon as well.)

Keiko and Rika's caption was the 5 hearts emoji 💚❤️💙💗🧡🌙 in their signature colour. (But Instagram won't let two of the emoji show up on my browser lmao)

Mew's post also had the heart emoji and wrote: "わちゃわちゃないと🌙" - which "わちゃわちゃ" (wacha wacha)is a Japanese expression that typically describes the act of being excited and chatting noisily, usually by girls. SO, Mew here writing "わちゃわちゃないと🌙" is to say "I need to wacha wacha", ie "I need to bask in my excitement with the ladie and chat through our gathering"

Ayaka is UNSURPRISINGLY the quickest with writing up something that makes our hearts soar! She basically wrote the same thing on Ameba blog and Intagram. The translations are:

THE LAST TWO LINE. AYAKA IS QUOTING THE LYRICS FROM THEIR PGSM SONG FRIEND. I'M GONNA SCREAM. The fact that she also tags #幸せ #絆 #戦友 #仲間 to her posts with the Senshi team makes my heart explode.

"幸せ" (shiawase) is the ultimate Asian expression of happiness, a cross between "happy", "lucky/fortune" and "blessing".

"絆" (kizuna) means "bond", typically indicating a deep bond. We hear this a lot in anime.

"戦友" (senyuu) means "comrades in arms", ie a trusted teammate

"仲間" (nakama) means "comrade" or "teammate". We hear this a lot in PGSM. lol

Introducing Proteans

What is a Protean?

Simply put, a protean is a highly advanced single celled organism that can freely and quickly alter their form, due to their biology consisting of cytoplasm and loose organelles encased in a slick, rubbery membrane. Proteans can be as large enough to fill a 20 foot cube or shrink to a 2.5 foot cube, but most often seen in forms that fit in a 5-6 foot cube. 

Protean appearance widely vary, but often choose to resemble some form of animal, anthropomorphic or otherwise.

Each protean has a set of 4 identifying features called morphic resonances that differentiate individuals and play a role in reproduction, as each resonance is equivalent to 25% of their dna; Morphic resonances can manifest in several ways, from purely cosmetic to beneficial or even detrimental. These include, but not limited to:

Colors/Color Combinations

Patterns, such as speckles or rune like symbols

Additional Organelles, such as chloroplasts or bioluminescent coelenterazites

Altered Organelles, such as thicker cell membranes or less efficient mitochondrias

Due to morphic resonance, proteans cannot perfectly imitate other creatures, which is one of the main reasons that they’ve been accepted by other sapient creatures.

Biology

Proteans have similar biology to eukaryotic cells and ameba, with various organelles substituting for the appropriate organ, such as the nucleus being the brain and the mitochondria being the lungs. Proteans have unique organelles, such as photoreceptors that grant them sight, (although they tend to be near-sighted due to their primitive design), and a cytoplasmic capsule, which stores and releases cytoplasm as needed when shifting their form. Proteans also have a voalisk, which is a flexible tube-like structure that air can pass through to make sounds. Proteans hear when soundwaves travel through their cytoplasm into their nucleus, in a process similar to an ear canal; However, proteans have sensitive hearing and hate loud noises.

The cytoplasm of a protean is non-newtonian, with a viscosity slightly thicker than water at room temperature and have a pH of ~6.2.

Proteans can temporarily harden parts of their membrane for self defense or for utility, though the hardened parts can’t change shape until it's unhardened.

Proteans can reproduce with each other by forming a cylindrical tendril called conjugative pilus to inject genetic material into one another, after which a new protean begins to develop and bud off over the course of 3 months. New proteans have a combination of the two parents’ morphic resonances. Couples with more than one shared resonance typically don’t procreate, as this is seen as inbreeding.

Proteans fully mature at ~24 years of age. Their average lifespan is unknown, as there are no known records of proteans dying of old age. 

A protean's diet mainly consists of highly nutritious foods, but they can consume any organic matter. Proteans can easily swallow food whole, but bigger foods might require hardened membrane “teeth” to rip their meals into easier to digest chunks.

Due to their unique biology, proteans are very susceptible to strong chemicals, as their membranes are easily weakened by them, allowing the chemicals into their body or outright rupturing. Chemicals inside a protean's cytoplasm can disrupt its delicate pH balance and/or damage its organelles, both of which can easily lead to death.

Temperatures below freezing cause proteans to become lethargic and be unable to shape-shift, while temps above 100°F cause their cytoplasm to begin to boil and make their membranes painfully elastic.

Culture/Society

Proteans don’t have a solidly defined culture, mostly copying the one they live in.

Proteans typically wear minimal clothing, as it interferes with their shape-shifting, and they view whatever form they currently have to be analogous to clothes. Whatever accessories they do wear tends to be utilitarian in function.

Proteans are amphibious, with many choosing to live their entire lives underwater. Proteans weirdly become more animalistic when submerged in water for more than a few hours, the condition worsening the longer they’re in. It is currently unknown why this happens, but this can be reversed by simply spending an equivalent amount of time out of water; That being said, some proteans have difficulties fully recovering from their semi-feral state, often resulting in existential crisis. 

A protean’s reaction to being submerged in water is theorized to be connected to their origins as formerly aquatic beings; Ancient proteans were feral aquatic beings that evolved into amphibians, and would eventually come into contact with primitive sapient races; Likely started as predators, but were ‘domesticated’ by feeding on food scraps. It’s speculated that ancient sapients noticed that proteans perform better when fed with cooked/prepared nutritious food. Generations later (about 500 years), proteans developed sapience. 

Proteans are a free species, and you may use them as you see fit.

Kaoru is Buttercup= the popular sports girl that has a huge fan base as much as Miyako does and hates girly things like skirts.

Peach is a robotic dog that got hit by white z rays that aids the girls transformation.

There are white Z rays and black Z rays. HIM is weaken by the cold.

That’s a little bit about the anime.

I actually think Sari could be Peach (for some reason the English dub calls him Poochi) and the Autobots are the PPGZ.

They do have a giant robot (that’s actually a Time Machine or something that is a reference to Dynamo)!

Well, that's sickening. But it really tells us all we need to know about what sorts of people hate Levi, doesn't it? They're the lowest of the low. Anyone who would say those sorts of things, making fun of someone for being disabled, calling them such childish names as "ugly" or "wheelchairman" can only possess the intellect of a dense block of wood and the character of a spineless ameba. I mean, how much do you have to hate yourself and how insecure do you have to be to attack someone for being disabled? It's easy to make fun of someone for those things, isn't it? It's what a coward would do. Going after the easy target, making fun of someone for struggling in any way. So that's what these people are, cowards, and they hate Levi because he's the opposite of that. He's everything they wish they could be, but never will be. They don't have the strength of character to be anything but frightened little weaklings, consoling themselves behind their computer screens and telling themselves they're bad-asses for pointing and laughing at a war veteran who gave his whole life for a good cause.

And knowing they're into Eren and Mikasa just drives my point home, that they can't cope with the fact that Levi is more popular than both of them, and with Eren especially, they can't cope with the reality that he ended up being the villain of the piece. They want to blame everyone else for Eren's failures and atrocities, but sad to say, it was all on Eren, in the end. And I'm positive it's a reflection of their own plight in life. They want to blame everyone else for their own failures and worthless existence, rather than take any accountability for themselves.

So the best they can come up with to try and drag Levi down is to make fun of him for being in a wheelchair and having a scarred face? I mean, it would be funny if it weren't such a testament to the true ugliness and cruelty of these people's personalities. It says nothing about Levi, and everything about them. They're bad people, and Levi's character seems to offend them by confronting them with their own wretchedness and ugliness. They could never conceive of being like that. Being a genuinely selfless, heroic person. So rather than face the hard truth about themselves, they choose to attack him and anyone who connects with him. It's typical projection. They loath themselves deep down for being what they are, and go around pretending it's everyone else' fault.

Well, fuck 'em, I say. They can continue to drown in their own misery and delusions, telling themselves lies to comfort them at night. Levi will continue to be the most popular character from AoT, and really, the most popular character period in manga/anime. People like him because he's a true hero and a genuinely kind-hearted, good person. These haters can only ever dream.

my god y'all have no idea how excited i am. that's literally the only reason why i'm living lately. this anime will give me another reason to breathe.

jokes aside, i can't wait for it to air!! i'm planning to watch at least the first episode in streaming on ameba (even downloaded a vpn for that) since i don't have any uni courses <3 who knows, maybe i'll end up watching it every week (← probably will)

Cumulative Views from Ameba & NicoNico - Winter 2023 Anime

The above is a ranking list that was made by a Twitter user (tweet linked below). It’s ranked based on the overall number of views a series got on both Ameba Video and NicoNico. 

Those are just two out of a few different streaming services, and this is insight into viewership numbers for these two services specifically - not any others and not taking into account any broadcast viewership numbers, BD/DVD sales, or international streaming viewership/popularity/etc. 

In recent years, streaming numbers are becoming more relevant for renewal, both domestically and abroad, and viewership and popularity overseas is becoming more relevant as well. BD/DVD sales are becoming less so, but are still extra indicators and more so highlight how big the hardcore fanbase of a series is. Merchandise can play a role in deciding on a series success and continuance.

There are a lot of varying factors that can decide whether a series will get some form of continuation or not (a second season, movies, OVA/ONA, etc.) and they usually overlap and intersect with each other. For example. the anime series Sugar Apple Fairytale already announced its second season, despite not seeming overwhelmingly popular, based off of this chart alone. It should be noted that it is an adaptation though and based on a preexisting series.

This list also isn’t the most definitive version, since some series still have one final episode to air (ex. Buddy Daddies),so there would be some difference with a ranking made completely at the end of a season, once all shows have finished airing. But likely not by any large amount. These numbers are largely going to stay about the same. 

But, anyway, it is always interesting to see information like this and how it compares to things like Weekly Anime Rankings within the international anime fanbase, since there usually are some major differences between the two. Example, Buddy Daddies being more popular with the international anime fanbase than back in Japan, but sometimes there is some overlap as well, such as Revenger, which didn’t gain much traction with Japanese or international fans.

20) What is your favorite thing about writing fanfic? What about writing in general?

I love that a basis is set out about character so I can take them and stick them in whatever and how ever many situations as I want and see what happens.

For writing in general I gotta say I love being able to bring a random thought or feeling to life through stories and share them with others who might feel the same

Oh absolutely I love to give hurting characters love which os probably why my second top is…

2) angst

Even if I go in planning only fluff angst in the form of panic attack or grief sneaks in. It allows for the comfort and care from loved ones. I cant commit to just angst though, there is enough sad things in the world lol.

3) songfic

This absolutely, i get most ideas while listening to a song or while thinking of a song. And their are so many good songs out there that can apply (read: Every song is thought out in fic form at some point or another in my brain lol)

4) not beta read

This less so lately. I know how horrible my grammer can be and how easy it is for me to overlook errors if i read and stare at the fic long enough. I am very thankful to have some wonderful writer friends to help me out here.

11. Partial to char pairing: yes I absolutely do. I lean towards Daminette with Jasonette a close second when I’m writing. Reading wise I’m equal opportunity.

As for why, well I think it stems from my love of seeing the bad boy/angry boy softening for sunshine/sweet girl. I love bringing a character with trauma or insecurities together with a partner who will see that and do their best to support and soothe them. All while making sure they feel seen and loved beyond imagine.

Her VA is Amaki Sally if anyone’s curious! She got really popular in english anime community (more specifically idol community) from her Ameba streams because she meme’d really hard and everyone Liked That

I’m such a big fan of how Bocchi did this character with like 3 lines.  She’s supposed to be from England, so they got a bilingual VA to voice her. The way she says loanwords with a more English inflection is such a neat thing to hear. Especially that “Watashi 𝐸𝓁𝒾𝓏𝒶”

O Belo e a Graciane tiveram um remake? Eu preciso comunicar a cada pessoa que eu beijar na boca que eu tenho dependência emocional? Será que vou conseguir aguentar o semestre que vem? O Natal é em 3 meses, a conta de luz tá atrasada, tenho tantos livros pra ler, quando vou conseguir um emprego? Será que meu corpo espiritual tá bem?

O ser humano, sendo um animal com um raciocínio singular entre todos os outros animais na natureza, ainda não está evoluído o suficiente para lidar com tantas questões. Fomos feitos para acordar quando tivesse claro, andar para conseguir alimento, explorar lugares novos, beijar na boca e tomar banho de mar. Mas nãaao, isso é papo de hippie! O certo é ser congado por jogo do tigrinho.

Sabe por que eu sou ansiosa? Porque não consigo lidar com o fato de que no oceano que é o universo eu sou uma ameba presa em um grão de areia. Somos ansiosos porque temos informações demais para processar, precisamos ser muitos em um só corpo, preencher expectativas imaginárias de tudo e todos - principalmente de nós mesmos.

Algo da ansiedade: Eu me questiono até quando serei admirada por alguém, porque em algum momento eu vou entender um sentimento da maneira errada - fora da expectativa da outra pessoa - e estragar tudo. Não é algo que eu deveria me preocupar, não é algo importante como a sincronicidade do meu período menstrual e as fases da lua, mas ainda está aqui - martelando na minha mente.

Ok, eu sou errada em muitas coisas - tipo esquecer de descongelar o frango para o jantar - mas será que devo desprender tanto neurônio para a ansiedade continuar existindo?
