Does Browneyes feel bad about not seeing Mouseshell in the prophecy since it was because of that that she was outcasted?
Oh 10000%
There’s a lot about Mouseshell and her family that I didn’t have enough room to mention in her profile, and one of those is her uncle (beyond giving the prophecy anyway)
He did try to talk to his mother when he thought that Amberstar was being too hard, but he didn’t have much of a backbone so it was more nervously telling her “maybe you should give her a second chance?” When Mouseshell messed up a patrol instead of coming up with convincing reasoning.
(as I said before, Amberstar wasn’t hard because she didn’t care about her granddaughter—she did! but she’s the leader with lots of responsibility and if allowing her granddaughter who has previously foiled several hunts not lead a patrol would mean more prey for the Clan, then that’s what she does)
but anyway back to Browneyes—
Even though he tried to help, he’s also the Clan’s sole medicine cat and was very busy.
At one point he tried to get her interested in herbs because he could tell that she felt out of place and thought that being a medicine cat would make her feel special, but it didn’t work (Mouseshell, at this time, wanted to be special because she earned it, not because of this shortcut)
Other than that, I think Browneyes would mostly keep away from her, just because he feels guilty and believes that he would only make things worse for her.
As you could imagine, he would come to deeeeply regret that when he found out what she had been doing
—-
Also he definitely went through a lot of angst when she was sick and he had to take care of her, and again when he had to heal his other nieces’ wounds when they came back from a “rogue” attack that had killed Mouse

I've never gotten so attached to a clan in clan gen as I have with Hyacinthclan, specifically to the leader Amerstar and his family. Amberstar was already 11 moons when I started this clan and worked his way to being deputy and eventually became the leader (after his firstmate Reedclaw killed the former leader who was also her mother). Even thought Amberstar was bloodthirsty the can never warred with the other clans and if anyone did died suspiciously it was never directly his fault.
While he was alive Amberstar had two mates, Reedclaw and Wikipedia, and had a total of 16 kits and 3 grandkits. Amberstar managed to outlive all of them. Except for Riverfox.
I was absolutely devastated when Amberstar finally died during moon 167 (and was genuinely surprised he wasn't killed before old age too him) and it only made me more sad to think of how Riverfox was dealing with his death and the relization of being the last of her family line.
(but good news! I've kept playing with this clan and in moon 191 and Riverfox just had a kit! So the bloodline lives on!!)
#clangen#warrior cats oc#warrior cats#oof I just realized I basically wrote a whole obituary lol#Well Amberstar was one of my favorite in that clan so oh well

BLAZING SKY AU TIMELINE
1850's - early 1900's - The Clans are formed, and the warrior code is created and expanded.
Summer, 1914 - Flystar's Reign starts.
Spring, 1919 - The destruction of SkyClan's forest begins.
Early Fall, 1919 - The Law of the Wild is added to the warrior code.
Late Fall, 1919 - Flystar dies, and Cloudstar succeeds him.
Early Winter, 1919 - SkyClan attempts to retake a patch of the forest that now belongs to ThunderClan. War breaks out, and the starving SkyClan cats, despite their persistence, are no match for well-fed, healthy ThunderClan warriors. In the future, this event is known as Cloudstar's Last Stand.
Mid Winter, 1919 - SkyClan has now lost most of their territory, and Cloudstar opts for the diplomatic route and asks the other leaders for help during the Gathering. However, none of them are willing to help. SkyClan leaves the forest. Only Birdflight, Cloudstar's mate, and their kittens Spottedkit and Gorsekit remain behind, taken in by ShadowClan. SkyClan swears to never look to the stars again.
Late Winter, early 1920 - Larkstripe (WC), Molepelt (ShC) and the other seers protest SkyClan's exile. Larkstripe, fully supported by Molepelt, goes on strike.
Early Spring, 1920 - Swiftstar's (WC) successor, Dalestar, separates Larkstripe from her kitten, Ripplekit, in an attempt to break the strike and discredit her for having a kitten, frowned upon but not yet forbidden by the law. This is the codification of the Seer's Vow. Birdflight nurses and raises Ripplekit in ShadowClan.
Mid Spring, 1920 - SkyClan reaches the gorge.
Fall, 1927 - Dawnstar passes, and her new deputy Ripplemoon becomes Ripplestar. On his first Gathering as leader, he stated that something had to be done about SkyClan. Either the Clans would give up their territory willingly or Ripplestar would make room. Start of Ripplestar's Riot.
Late Summer, 1928 - Gorseclaw betrays Ripplestar, and the Battle of the Full Moon takes place. Clanmates fight each other, littermates shed each other's blood, Gorseclaw kills Spottedpelt, and ultimately, StarClan themselves made the fifth oak, the symbol of SkyClan, fall on Ripplestar. The fall of the tree killed him, and put and end to his rebellion. Three laws are added to the warrior code, to ensure a riot like his never happens again. Gorseclaw joins ThunderClan.
Summer, 1932 - SkyClan disbands. Only a small number of cats remained in the gorge. A network was created to maintain the former Clan connected. This is called Spiderstar's Plan.
Spring, 1935 - Late Fall, 1940 - Redstar's and Cloudstar's descendants and their allies face each other in the ThunderClan Civil War for their Clan's leadership. The result is the death of many warriors, and Flarestar's, granddaughter of Redstar, victory.
Spring, 1942 - The cats of the gorge start receiving outside influence from towncats and travelers. The seer role is split in two.
Late Summer, 1942 - Formation of the Skybloods within ThunderClan.
Winter, 1950 - Amberheart, descendant of Cloudstar, is chosen as Flarestar's third deputy. Her descendants (Oakstar, Pinestar and Tigerstar) would rule ThunderClan for many seasons to come.
Summer, 1953 - Amberstar becomes the first Skyblood leader of ThunderClan.
Spring, 1963 - Froststar of ThunderClan takes Sunningrocks. Applestar of RiverClan fights her on it.
Winter, 1975 - Mapleshade's Vengeance takes place. Furious at Mapleshade's kittens exile, Darkstar of RiverClan suggests a new law: Queen's Rights, or the Kitten Protection Law.
"Mapleshade may have brought them to the river, but it was your foolishness, your short-sightedness and your cruelty that put them in that situation in the first place, Oakstar. No kitten should die for the crime of being born."
Early Spring, 1976 - Oakstar launches Crusades and attacks the towncats. Houndstar from ShadowClan joins in.
Winter, 1980 - BloodClan is formed in response to the Crusades. Towncats start fighting back against the Forest Clans.
Early Spring, 1981 - Houndstar falls back, and agrees to codify Darkstar's proposed law. Three kittens dead is, after all, a great loss.
Fall, 1982 - Heatherstar from WindClan ends tunneling and starts the WindClan-ShadowClan War.
Summer, 1984 - Pinestar's Choice begins.
Summer, 1986 - The Great Hunger in ThunderClan takes place.
Fall, 1989 - Yellowfang's Secret and Tallstar's Revenge begin.
Winter, 1991 - Pinestar becomes leader and ends the Crusades.
Spring, 1994 - Bluestar's Prophecy and Crookedstar's Promise begin.
Winter, 1996 - BloodClan's leader is killed, and Pinestar leaves both to find the peace of being a housecat and to aid BloodClan during their political crisis. Sunstar becomes leader of ThunderClan.
Spring, 1997 - Tallstar becomes leader of WindClan.
Summer, 2001 - Bluestar becomes ThunderClan's leader, and Crookedstar RiverClan's.
Fall, 2001 - Raggedstar dies, and Brokenstar becomes leader of ShadowClan.
Early Spring, 2003 - Into the Gorge begins.
And that's the timeline before the AU kicks in. Rusty/Firestar starting his journey on 2003 sounds about right.
CHANGES
Birdflight and her kittens take shelter in ShadowClan, not ThunderClan, after Molepelt, ShadowClan's seer, offers them a place in the Clan. Dawnstar is the least adamant that SkyClan leaves the forest, and considering Redstar's attitude and the previous battles (which in this AU is total war) with SkyClan, it seems unlikely for him to take Birdflight and her kittens in. Plus, ThunderClan can't be the "good guys" Clan like in canon, and MisunderstoodClan deserves good things from time to time.
The Law of the Wild (the "warriors reject the soft life of kittypets" rule) wasn't created because of Pinestar's defection, but because Flystar was tired of his warriors leaving the Clan to live comfortably while the rest of them starved.
The Seer's Vow is made maliciously. Dalestar (prev. Darkstar, CotC) argues that Larkstripe (prev. Larkwing) is breaking her vow by having a kitten. However, back then, while taboo, it wasn't forbidden by the law. This was made to discredit and hurt her, and to control the seers.
Ripplestar (CotC) isn't fighting for power, but to free territory for SkyClan to come back to. He's also Birdflight's adopted son.
The three laws that were added were the Leader's Rights (to not be questioned), the First Tasks (visiting the Moonstone as an apprentice at least once, and sitting vigil after obtaining a warrior name), which were tradition but not codified yet, and the Full Moon Truce (no fighting at Gatherings)
Time was added between Cloudstar's Journey (and Ripplestar's Riot) and Mapleshade's Vengeance. This was done simply to add more drama related to SkyClan's exile and the descendants that stayed in the forest.
The "a queen can choose not to name her kittens' father" rule that was forgotten after the first arc in canon is made into a consistent law. Done in response to Mapleshade's kittens being exiled because of their parentage, and hotly debated even decades after its creation. Watch out for those that argue against it.
Heatherstar starts a war with ShadowClan to conquer a part of their territory she was interested in, and ended tunneling (a harmless/defensive tradition) so her Clan could focus more on fighting on the offensive.
BloodClan is formed earlier, in response to the Clans' raids. They're also a neutral entity, not pure evil.
SkyClan hasn't been forgotten by the Forest Four, but their exile is treated as justified and deserved.

Amberstar - Leader
Compassionate, den builder, good swimmer
Bio below:
Amberpatch had grown up quite lonely despite her seemingly perfect family life. Sure, they all got along and she was close with her brother, Sapback, but it was clear that her parents did not understand her. Her father, Yellowdapple, was a perfectionist who was often too busy tending to his clanmates to pay her much attention. And her other parent, Sproutheart, lacked the sensitivity that she often craved. Amberpatch knew that these were minor complaints, but her feelings of isolation remained.
Amberpatch did her best to take after her father's thoughtful reputation. She did genuinely care for her clanmates after all. She was happy to listen to their troubles and offer them a shoulder to lean on. But when she fell in love with one such troubled cat, the reality of romance only reduced her confidence. Elmpeak was a shecat around her age who had a great deal of insecurities. Amberpatch would continuously reassure her that she was loved and supported, but Elmpeak never came to reciprocate her feelings.
Dejected once again, Amberpatch's attention was soon taken by the birth of two new siblings. She took an interest in them right away, but they were usually content with each other even as young kits. They grew up without much need for her, becoming the proud warrior brothers Tumblejoy and Pelicandaze.
When tragedy struck their family, summoning first Sapback, then Yellowdapple, and finally Sproutheart to Staclan in a series of accidents, Amberpatch could barely keep herself together. She did her best to comfort her younger brothers, but their distant relationship made that effort difficult. She felt lucky that so many of her clanmates took pity on her and offered them their comfort in return for that which she had given for so many years.
One of these cats was a friend of her brothers, a slightly younger shecat named Blizzardheather. The two of them had talked before about their common experiences in failed romances, as well as their mutual love of swimming. Blizzardheather had a markedly firmer attitude toward these things, but still managed to help her work through her grief. Her usual fearsome demeanor softened into an empathetic ear and a warm shoulder to curl up against. Amberpatch was very grateful for her friendship.
After Amberpatch had gotten through the worst of her grief, Blizzardheather remained her constant companion. They were so close that Amberpatch began to wonder if there was more between them than platonic support. And when she asked her friend if that was the case, Blizzardheather stumbled over her words. At first she denied feeling anything more for Amberpatch, but this explanation devolved into a statement that, hypothetically, they would make better mates to each other than any other options they had. Amberpatch had to agree with that logic. Within the next few weeks of further discussion, they agreed to commit themselves to each other.
Amberpatch did her best to lead a quiet and contented life with Blizzardheather. They were not quite in love, but they made an effort to understand each other a little better every day. Their efforts were even paying off as genuine passion and affection began to bloom between them. It was becoming a very happy time in Amberpatch's life up until the clan's deputy retired.
With the retirement of the clan's deputy came the revelation that Amberpatch was one of the only two cats qualified to become leader. She was clanborn, and had successfully trained her own apprentice. But when Sleekstar came to speak with her, it became clear that he was not impressed with her candidacy. Embarrassingly, he announced that he would be postponing his decision until the clan's kits had been assigned their mentors. The implication was that he would choose his successor from the newly qualified mentors instead.
But in a twist of fate, Sleekstar lost his final life after being attacked by rogues a couple of weeks later. With no leader and no deputy, the clan had no way to know which cats Sleekstar had planned to give apprentices. The mentors were decided by vote, and none ended up being clanborn. This criteria was still considered to be important, so Amberpatch once again became a candidate for leader. And after one more vote, she was on her way to the moonpool to receive her lives from Starclan.
The bewilderment of this experience didn't end there, as she still had the sudden task of choosing a deputy. There was only one other candidate, and the clan had made their lack of support for him clear enough already. So, with no other options, she turned to the last litter of kits that were due for their apprenticeship ceremonies. Sleekstar's burden was now fully hers as she announced the same delay in her choice of deputy.
Amberpatch waited two moons to choose the new mentors, and in that time was panicked by the realization that she could not yet choose. She was completely unprepared for her own responsibilities, nevermind assigning some of them to another cat. She was lucky that the previous deputy was still alive to advise her. She ended up defaulting to the kits' parents for their choice of mentor, and when Shorespeck was named amongst them she choose her as deputy. Shorespeck was past retirement age, but still willing to take on another apprentice. Her wisdom and experience were more than welcome.
With the support of her mate, her deputy, and her clan, Amberstar spent several moons getting the hang of her new role. And with great luck, a new litter was born and a promising new candidate emerged in Dolphinpaw. He learned quickly, had a strong yet gentle presence, and impressed his mentor grately. So much so that Amberstar identified him as her best candidate for leader. Soon after his warrior ceremony, a young cat joined the clan as if by Starclan's will. Amberstar assigned them to Dolphinrush right away.
Within only a few moons of this fateful decision, Shorespeck felt that the clan was finally in safe enough paws that she could retire. And as soon as she did, Amberstar was relieved to finally name Dolphinrush as her new deputy. The young tom was surprised, but very honored. Amberstar was sure that he would have plenty of time to grow into the kind of leader Marineclan desperately needed.
Soon after this obstacle was conquered, tragedy struck Amberstar once again. Blizzardheather was found dead outside of camp, with clear signs of a struggle with another cat. Amberstar was devastated, furious, and terrified all at once. She needed Blizzardheather. She was still so far from repaying all of her love and support. She had no idea who to blame for her death.
Murder was an unfortunately common crime within Marineclan, and no one ever came forward to cooperate with Amberstar's attempt at an investigation. She may have been elected leader, but her clanmates chose her for her softness. They did not truly see her as an authority figure and they did not want to give her the ability to enforce the morals she had been chosen for. They were happy to comfort her and offer to help in small ways, but they'd never truly turn on each other. If she weren't horrified by the loss of her mate, she may have felt moved by their solidarity.
In processing this profound feeling of betrayal and hopelessness, Amberstar was approached by an older shecat. Zion was an elder and had been a friend of Blizzardheather's. They connected over their grief at first, but when Amberstar made herself vulnerable by explaining how reliant she had been on Blizzardheather's support, something changed. Zion offered to help fill that role herself.
Amberstar didn't know why she did it. She didn't know Zion very well, but she desperately needed someone to lean on. She let Zion into her personal life and they became mates very quickly. Zion even said she loved her. But right when Amberstar was beginning to feel like she might be ok without Blizzardheather, that she might be able to move on from such a traumatic experience, things shifted again.
Amberstar told Zion about her new feelings, and in response Zion grew colder. She got pushier, and challenged her ideas more frequently. It became clear that Zion saw her as being unfit for leadership. That she had seen Amberstar's vulnerability as weakness. Amberstar couldn't take yet another betrayal of her trust. She exploded at Zion, breaking off their mateship and demanding that she get out of her sight. Zion, to her credit, stormed off and made herself scarce for the next few days.
The two shecats remained estranged from one another for most of the next year. It was only a string of crises that forced Amberstar to rely on Zion once again for necessary camp upkeep and information on lost clanmates. And strangely, Zion's attitude toward her had completely transformed. Gone was the pushiness, the manipulation, and the mind games. Zion listened to her unquestioningly and carried out her instructions without hesitation.
This change confused Amberstar at first, and after several moons of successful cooperation she arranged a time for them to talk privately. Zion was embarrased to admit that she was sorry for the way that she'd behaved after Blizzardheather's death. They had both been dealing with a tremendous amount of shock and grief, and Zion had ended up taking it out on Amberstar. After Amberstar broke things off with her, Zion had had time to reflect on her actions. She had decided to put her trust in Amberstar and do her best to demonstrate her loyalty as a form of apology.
Amberstar accepted Zion's changed feelings, and the two of them slowly rekindled the relationship they'd initially intended to have. Care and support gradually replaced old pain and conflict, and they eventually decided to reunite as mates. Before long, they even had a single kit together named Fallenkit. And the next moon, Zion was killed by a rogue ambush, leaving Amberstar to raise Fallenkit alone.
Amberstar loved Fallenkit greatly and did everything she could to guarantee her daughter's success. When she became a warrior, Amberstar had the privelege of naming her Fallenrose. But the strain of leadership limited her capacity for motherhood, and she was dismayed by Fallenrose's shrinking personality as she got older. It pained her to see her kit struggle to find a place in the clan, and it pained her even more to receive news that she had been killed out in the territory.
Amberstar couldn't hold onto her memories of Fallenrose's death, and her mind began to deteriorate rapidly after yet another tragedy. She still had good days, but the medicine cats were alarmed by how often she was losing lives without any sign of illness or injury. She lost another life saving a kit from drowning. Another while saving a warrior from a snake bite. It was almost as if she was throwing them away. Eventually, her final life was lost in the peace and quiet of her den. Her reunion with her loved ones in Starclan must have been a heart-wrenching sight.
