Zukka week 2024

Day 1: Ba Sing Se/Jasmine Dragon AND Fake Dating

A second Part of my "Bridgerton AU" Where Zuko and Sokka made a ruse to get what they want: Zuko a future Marriage and Sokka his freedom. Now, they made everything in public, trying to convince important people, like Uncle Iroh and Zuko's ex girlfriend (and her actual girlfriend), Mai and Ty Lee.

But it seems that all this pretention it's not just that anymore, isn't it?

hey did y'all know i write.

sokka casually writing haikus in his spare time as zukos swt ambassador. he's kind of embarrassed abt it so he keeps them in a secret drawer in his nightstand but eventually zuko finds them (for the sake of plot) and tells him that they're rlly good without realizing they're ABOUT HIM! so he convinces sokka to publish them and the gaang reads them as well. and bc they aren't blind (even toph) they see that they're abt zuko and totally tease sokka abt it lmao

sokka, who's entirely fed up with hopelessly pining over zuko and him not getting the hint, eventually writes one that's pretty explicitly abt the fire lord, and sticks it under zukos door one night. but since nothing can ever go right for sokka (aunt wu, why must you be right all the time!?, he laments to the gaang) he forgets to sign it!

zuko, who can't deal with the thought that it might actually be from sokka, convinces himself that one of his staff members is his secret admirer and sokka helped them write it! he goes through the list of potential secret admirers, and confronts each one. all of them - because they have eyes - realize that sokka was the one who wrote it, and silently laugh to themselves because they're working for a idiot (/aff) who can't accept that his crush might like him back.

eventually, zuko asks sokka who he helped write the haiku, and sokka just. Stares at him. picks up the haiku, signs it with his name, and crosses his arms and stares. zuko, whose mind is going a mile a minute, goes completely red in the cheeks and says "Oh." after like 10 seconds of internally freaking out, zuko grabs sokkas stupid face and kisses him.

the gaang and zukos staff let out a collective sigh of relief at never having to watch them pine ever again

Finding suns (when you were looking for the moon)

Sokka should've never let Zuko talk him into this. But with the ten year anniversary of the end of the war coming up, with their plans to fix the world failing, with the rise in Ozai sympathizers, they really didn't have a choice. Of course, they turn to time travel to fix things And of course, the ritual goes terribly wrong. Now, it's up to Sokka to make sure they win the war, again. Only this time, they'll win it better.

Zukka Time Travel Fix It / Rewrite

Older zuko facing a problem and immediately going like “come on, do it! I can take it” and sokka just appears out of nowhere to say “oh like that lighting?” And stare at him until he gives up for good

Thick Thighs | 5.5k, explicit | fire lord zuko, water tribe ambassador sokka, thigh fucking (intercrural sex), temperature play, water tribe courting rituals, bathing/washing/hair brushing, beefcake sokka, smut and fluff (it's so fluff heavy).

I wrote this back in 2020 but figured I should post this here since yknow the timing is right.

“Sokka – ”

“Shh, it’s okay.”

Sokka’s fingers drifted away and Zuko was about to protest, because he wanted attention, when he felt the first drip of cold water fall right above his navel, onto the scar there. He wanted to see so badly, to look, but Sokka had asked him to keep his eyes shut and Zuko was left to curl his fingers into the bedding instead. A moment passed, Sokka was probably trying to see if this was okay, before the edge of an ice cube ran over Zuko’s stomach, drawing a gasp out from him.

“Is this okay?” Sokka asked, lifting the ice away.

Zuko just screwed his eyes shut and nodded, tongue flicking out to lick his lips before he felt the warm press of Sokka’s mouth on the cold spot. Oh, this was more than okay. Far better than okay.

“Keep going.”

Sokka hummed happily and the ice touched Zuko’s navel, far less tentative as it moved up his chest this time, stopping and sitting for a moment at the hollow of his throat, melting there and dripping back around his neck like the cord of a necklace. Zuko shivered and he felt goosebumps follow the ice as it traveled over one of his clavicles before disappearing from his skin. The ice was quickly replaced with Sokka’s lips, tracing a reverse path over his clavicle to lick the water pooled against his throat.

Zuko couldn’t help the tiny noise that left him, the smallest of grunts, enough to catch Sokka’s attention though, and earn him a kiss to the lips as Sokka dragged the ice over each rib before being left to melt just below his sternum, seated once more on the scar. He shivered again and shut his eyes even tighter, quivering when he felt another piece of ice drift under his left pec and then up, circling around his nipple.

“Sokka.” He whispered, hand reaching out of the other man, gripping his knee until Sokka took the hand in his own. The ice felt so cold and so intense, rapidly cooling his overheated skin only to make the heat build hotter and more concentrated than before. It was almost too much, but it felt so good, and Zuko had a reputation for liking things that were sometimes too much in bed.

Zuko hates the fire nation. He does and he is tired of pretending he doesn't. Don't get him wrong he loves his people and the culture but after seeing the whole world he understands that he will never feel safe in his own nation. When everything feels like a jab towards him. With all eyes looking at him.

So when Izumi turns 35 and after ten years of being his right hand.

AND learning that his lovable best friend/ambassador/the love of his life is going to become Chief he realizes the Southern water tribe may need a fire nation Ambassador and who is better than the former fire lord. So Zuko resigns and follows his heart to wherever he pleases with his trusty companion Druk.

Besides someone needs to help the Chief of the Southern water tribe the same way he was helped by his water tribe ambassador. And who knows maybe after not having the weight of the world in his shoulders he may finally confess

Zukka week 2023

Day 2: turtleduck pond & second chance (FLWOGB)

"Hina claps with awe at the eruption of flames from Zuko’ skin. It is yellow, yes, orange too, but there is purple in the fire, and green, and red, blue, white, pink and more, all dazzling and brilliant as they burst from Zuko’s palms.

“Cool!” she yells, but Sokka hears her as if from a distance, finds his heart catching somewhere between his throat and mouth at the sight of Zuko’s shy smile, the rainbow reflected in his eyes. The light flickers over both their faces, vibrant and ethereal.

Sokka turns on his heels slowly, awestruck at the colourful warmth surrounding them. Zuko’s taken care to keep the flames a safe distance away, but Sokka can still feel the gentle heat of the fire flowing around him. It sinks into his skin, pushes all the way through to some unknown, untouched part of him that resides deep within his chest, making it unfurl until its blossoms peek out like the first buds of spring. And when he comes to a stop right back where he started—staring at Zuko’s cupped hands, his upturned mouth, his hair shimmering a thousand different shades, the way he looks up at Sokka just then with his unscarred eye squinting at its corner, bright and effusive and striking— the blossoms spread wide in his chest, trailing up and down and throughout him, catching at his seams. Coming alive.

And he thinks, oh.

And he thinks, oh shit. "

It is a lovely trope. Perhaps one of our zukka elders knows the first? Or perhaps it is a trope borrowed from other fandoms. A trope as old as monarchy.

Okay where the hell did Ambassador Sokka come from??? Literally every post-canon fic does it to the point I thought it was canon. Can someone explain?
