As the door swung open, Amari jumped back on the balcony, having already been on edge from the creepy darkness of the woods. It was made worse at the sight of a figure before feeling their blood ran cold. Blood. This man was COVERED in it. The sight of it was enough to make them feel ill as they grabbed at the sleeves of their jacket.

"I-I'm sorry, m-maybe I should... I should go elsewhere..."

There was something just screaming for them to leave. A dark essence that seemed to pour off this man just like He had. They stepped back, feeling a cold sweat drip from the side of their cheek.

"I.. I didn't mean to bother you... i-if you were in the middle of something ..."

Amari watched Mark take over for them, watching two dearest people standing side by side. They smile softly before holding a hand to their chest.

"Do you really want this?" Amari asked, softly. "I want to be sure you aren't doing this because you think---"

Their voice begins to trail off before they reach out and take Mark's hand. They needed to stop questioning themselves at every turn; they needed to believe that once Mark was out of sight, he'd be here once they returned and it would not be the last time again.

"I'll come back... after this is all over. I promise."

Amari steps closer, wrapping their arms around Mark's neck, and hugging him tightly.

"We can all have our happy ever after..."

Mark smiled, but a solemn undertone stayed in his eyes. He had thought this over for awhile, and he knew what he had to say. He knew that this was where he had to make a decision. While he wanted to be at their side to be sure they were safe, his place wasn't there. It was on the ground where he would be best suited to help.

"Yeah, but...this is my stop."

He laughed to take the bittersweet edge out of his voice.

"You...Shulk, and the others are gonna have to take him down on your own."

The name felt strange to say aloud, but at this point, he deserved the respect. Pulling through after everything was pretty badass.

"And while you do that, I'll keep everyone here safe. Someone has to stay who has the know-how I do."

Carefully, Mark lifted their hand up to his face and kissed it gently.

"Go get 'em, Amari. I'll be here when you get back. Me and the old Hunk of Junk."
