Help, I’ve fallen for this song (and Amanda’s music in general) and I can’t get up.
It’s so beautiful and tender and loving and kinda Johnrik vibes tbh and I can’t stop listening to it.

This semifinal wasn’t nearly as terrible as I was expecting based on internet comments, but these Hall of Fame clips are playing and I’m already having trouble remembering the songs.  My ranking:
Mariette, “Shout It Out”
Faith Kakembo, “Crying Rivers”
 Amanda Aasa, “Late”
Anis don Demina, “Vem e som oss”
Mohombi, “Winners”
Drängarna, “Piga och dräng”
Albin Johnsén, “Livet börjar nu”

This is my favourite so far. But not sure that is saying much. I feel really critical this semi.
I think I’m gonna kinda like this in studio version, but I don-t think her voice is holding up llive today.

4. Amanda Aasa, “Late” - Song sounds nice to my ears. It looks like she is not accustomed to performing highly choreographed routines on large stages; she looks a thousand times more comfortable when she can move relatively freely.

Comments on the entire show--
I am surprisingly invested in this intro musical drama.
1. Frida Öhrn, “We Are One” – “Ha, predictable spoiler” - oh dear that lyric.  Song is a little shouty.  Was getting a bit of an Arja Saijonmaa vibe.
2. William Stridh, “Molnljus” – He seemed a little nervous at the start.  This reminds me a little bit of Amanda Aasa’s performance last week in that it sounds like a decent song and a stronger stage performance could really lift it.
3. Nanne Grönvall, “Carpool Karaoke” – I was already inclined to feel positively because “Håll om mig” was what introduced me to Melodifestivalen (and by extension Eurovision).  That might have been the single most fun performance in all 4 weeks.
4. Victor Crone, “Troubled Waters” – I like his speaking voice more than his singing voice.  He always sounds slightly flat to me.  (EDIT: or is it sharp?  Whatever it is, it’s not on the note.)
5. Ellen Benediktson & Simon Peyron, “Surface” – Could use a little more in the staging but it was well done.  l like the way their voices blend.
6. Jakob Karlberg, “Om du tror att jag saknar dig” – Hmm a Mondrian kind of thing going on. He sounds a lot better when singing higher in his range, the verses don’t really favor him.
7.  Hanna Ferm, “Brave” – I had totally forgotten she competed last year but do remember thinking she could have done better solo. Wow, the wind machine got started early.  The staging doesn’t quite support the song.  I get the feeling this would be better in the studio version.
My ranking:
Nanne Grönvall, “Carpool Karaoke”
Ellen Benediktson & Simon Peyron, “Surface”
William Stridh, “Molnljus”
Jakob Karlberg, “Om du tror att jag saknar dig”
Hanna Ferm, “Brave”
Victor Crone, “Troubled Waters”
Frida Öhrn, “We Are One”
Whoa, I really was not expecting Frida Öhrn to get through the first round.
And no Nanne???
The finalist’s reprise of “Brave” is way better than the first performance.
Frida Öhrn again, huh.
The finalist’s reprise of “Troubled Waters”...  no comment.
IMO Dotter and Anna Bergendahl are still the best of the current finalists.
