I am again thinking about what the financial situation is for the diasomnias. It's difficult to say anything for sure because I don't really know what the economy is like in briar valley and what kind of currency they use (if any at all...?)
They use their own magic to get by, but there's definitely still some things left they would need. They mention Briar Valley has exports in cloth nowadays, and I'm sure they'd have a few other exports too. I'm super curious how it effects the financial situation of the royal family and how they give payment?? The only example we have is of Malleus giving Deuce the gem as a thank you for fixing gao gao dragon kun, but that could have just been a one-off gift he decided to give, since we do see others in diasomnia buying things with money (presumably?)
With so much left up in the air, there's a lot of possibilities. My thoughts are that they do have a currency they use mostly for exchanging services and buying art. The actual royal family aren't any richer than the Asims, but that matters very little with the loyalty they've grown amongst fae folk plus their own capabilities with magic
I don't think Lilia was paid during the war or before it because he was already given room and board by the royal family, and again, currency exists but is not as necessary when magic helps to make up the difference. He definitely wasn't paid during the ~200 year gap that he left the royal family's service, but now that he's taking care of Malleus, I think the queen is personally giving him a decent salary for his work
While he wasn't being paid, Meleanor, Levan, or Baul could have given him any money he needed, but instances like that would have been few and far between, and when he was traveling, he'd probably pick up a few odd jobs to pay for whatever he needed in the country, but also could have just sold his own few possessions at the time instead
For Malleus, I'm not sure if he's given any kind of "allowance" or just given money on an as-needed basis while he's at NRC. Before NRC, though, he wouldn't have been given anything. Everything would be paid for by his grandmother or by the senate at his request. We see him shopping around town multiple times though, so he does have some kind of money or goods that he's exchanging for things
I'm the least certain about what's going on with Silver and Sebek. I don't think it's been confirmed whether they're officially considered guards by the queen, and I don't know enough about Maleficia for me say one way or the other about it. I do like to think they are! It's nice to think they're already employed while they're in school, but with how Malleus and Lilia both talk about them like they're still babies, it's pretty likely that if they are employed by her, it's only as a joke or as a way to appease Malleus
If they aren't considered knights by the queen yet, then it's safe to say that Malleus is paying them. And if he's paying them with rocks and crystals like he did with Deuce, they've probably already exchanged those for proper currency lol

Synonyms for "Lone Woman" or When Even Thesaurus.com Has Outmoded Ideas of What It Means to Be Happily Single
Here are the synonyms for "lone woman" according to Thesaurus.com:
Bachelor girl, goody-goody, prig, single woman, unmarried woman, fuddy duddy, maiden, prude, and my favorites - spinster and old maid.
This website, on a day where commercial forces celebrate romantic love by having everyone declare in various ways just HOW MUCH THEY LOVE SOMEONE, (if you need a holiday to declare your love, you are doing love wrong), I am now a most unlikable character in a 19th century/early 20th century novel , "Aw, she's no fun, that ole Ms. Gen, being all by herself like that. Why doesn't she have a guy or a partner around?"
As if suddenly my scowling, disapproving, and curmudgeonly old maid ways would go away when I have a "boyfriend." And I would become kind, fun and accepting because I am in a relationship? I'd throw away my bonnet and thick shawl, put away my prim prayer book and suddenly become a partaker of frivolity and generosity, like Scrooge after his 3 Christmas ghosts. "Oh look Ms. Gen got someone special, now she is buying everyone geese for dinner and throwing money out the window to random children. Good for her. About damn time."
Who says being single makes a woman into a "fuddy duddy?" I've met some married ladies who straight up changed who they fundamentally were for the sake of the marriage. Women who were fun, spirited and held their heads high. Now their speech is muted, heavy. They see me as someone who has something wrong with her, instead of someone who recognizes that she is not ready for a partnership with someone.
I love being alone right now. I still maintain a sense of humor. I do not disapprove of young lovers or old. Sometimes I will see a couple that strikes me as the real thing and I think, "It is good to see love like this. I am glad they have each other." I still watch some shows and movies that have a romantic story line, and as long as it is done well and doesn't take away from the overall story, I root for that couple. The same in good books. Romance isn't the goal, it is just a bonus in the story of our lives.
Single mothers do have it harder than those in a SUPPORTIVE relationship time wise, financially, etc. I've seen some marriages where if the other partner never came home, it would be an improvement. The kind of relationship where I've seen people just shrivel and the kids do not benefit in any way from them staying together. Do some of us want to be in a relationship? Of course. But today, of all days, can we just agree to look at genuinely happy couples, and genuinely happy single people, and leave each other the hell alone? That I am not tutting at the folks in love in bitter disapproval, and they aren't tutting me in my choice to be single?
Take the image of the lonely, miserable woman (especially middle aged) out of our collective heads and instead say, "Good for her, they, etc.." Women are no longer property, we do not need to be owned, possessed, taken care of.
"She never married..." or she "never married again.." and that is supposed to be so tragic.
Only to the woman or person who thinks so. The rest of us are fine, I can assure you.
If she is happy, so what? If she is perhaps miserable, it may have nothing to do with their relationship status. Stop assuming women who live alone are doomed.
And maybe Thesaurus.com will eventually have these synonyms changed.

So I called the police because the staff kept threatening me and other patients at this telehealth place with camps in heat waves
Then they wanted drug money in heat waves
So I had the police finally drop me off at an emergency room and they would finally do some heart tests and the police showed me they are God based in the apostolic sense and I could ask them to re orient my energy field and make known the possession
Anyway I suppose I had the telehealth experience so I could forgive Natalie and Theresa Tennessee Williams they were domestically abused no one likes people who push drugs or are pushy in anyway so
Natalie and Theresa have very undesirable personalities and men in their lives tried to really kill or hurt them
Rosie
Ya know when ya see the ghetto or slummish Paris condition that has produced people really really predatory and so I just don't have to be hurt by that
Anyway they kept trying to place me in the mental hospital I went to after the emergency room......in a telehealth location and I told someone they make those lady places really aggressive and I don't like going to lady places unless the ladies are cool and just pauperish
I believe that people have to like me to decide to stop killing my people and those lady places are not well liked or comforting characters
Henry Crow dog it's white just one of my people
Many white trails up a large black rock
Anyway all I had to do was voice that concern and the mental hospital let me out
I told the mental hospital staff to my face is all red an I alright I said yes color is normal for me if I paled like that youth seizure disorder I would be very ill also like around too many dogs in vampiric trailers
I am a free white person tried to do it masterly and my colors are beautiful too
They were putting out anti psychotics so I think it is the meds causing aggressive problems
The patients didn't provoke hostility in anyway they were bums in character but that's not anger provoking that's done to provoke protection
I noticed on a zyprexa generics that suddenly the little things people do would annoy me when I usually like colorful extroverted new people to meet
But when the psychiatrist tried to cause me a seizure with a rapid dosage increase and I stopped taking the pill that immediately they were new interesting people to observe
The mental hospital wasn't too bad but they only care about money
Its just as a woman to dull your feminine extra sensory capabilities and philosophies to try to force the schizo to buy men
People like me though tend to be bipolar enough to be even self aggrandized I am a golden goddess and I can play that game sure I'm amazing and you can't afford me
Ever sense I voluntarily put on the weight I know people make interesting meetings possible and people like me
They care about rubber and money only and I think it's funny when rioters finally show people how to burn tire stashes
I'm pretty to talk to
That was a huge financial loss...ahaha hahaha
No burning down houses is just sad for me....
I didn't get into telehealth because I told them charges were dropped against me because no coherent charge was placed only trespassing
Hopi prophecy the states is not Canada and Canada does not view human rights as we do they have to actually present a civil law suit alleging I did something
So I was told I am indigenous to the states and they are guilty of civil harassment
If it's them they are only interested in getting done the Catholic sense of education of basic now facts and don't want to deal with more erudite then necessary
So I found out at the mental hospital the amount of quiet days I require for shock to leave my body and actually be able to cry
I haven't cried in a very long time

Success: When Purpose Meets Achievement
Introduction "True success isn’t just about wealth or power; it’s about achieving what we are truly meant to do—fulfilling our purpose." This bold assertion challenges the conventional markers of success, urging us to delve deeper into the essence of what it really means to be successful. Personal Experience: A Journey to Purposeful Success How much money do you need to make or have in order to be considered or feel like you are successful? Do you know the biggest problem that we face when we measure our success only by the money and wealth that we possess? That money is infinite. Therefore, you can always have more. And if you only measure your success based on your possessions you will never be satisfied or fulfilled because you can always have more. Therefore you will never feel like you are successful. That is why many of us get into this endless journey and make the mistake of thinking that money will solve everything. How many of us have said, when I make this much money in a year I will be happy. Or how about this one? When I get that promotion I will be satisfied. Here is another popular one; When my business gets to this level I will slow down and spend more time with my family. All of these statements are just lies that we tell ourselves. And in many cases, we do this just to feed our egos. It is so sad that after we achieve those things and get to the status or levels that we want to get and make the money that we want to make, the things that we said we would do, in many cases, we don't do them. Why is that? Well, because it was an illusion. Either we still feel incomplete and or unhappy, or we just get used to the validation that our careers give us and we get addicted to feeling that we are winning. Or worst-case scenario, you never achieve the financial, business, and career goals that you set for yourself, therefore you never stop pursuing them. How many of you have heard the statement that money doesn't buy happiness? I disagree; money can buy you a lot of happiness. I and my family like to travel and we have been to a lot of places and have created everlasting memories that without money we wouldn't have been able to create. That being said, success cannot be achieved only with the money and possessions that you have. If I were to finish my story here and only talk about the places that I have taken my family on vacation I would give you the wrong impression. For the last several years, I would say almost 15 years or so; I have taken my family every year on 3 to 4 vacations a year. And we have been everywhere. If you read and hear this statement, probably you will think that I am very successful. You may even think that I am a great father and an awesome husband. The truth is that I am not. You see, for many years I have focused and concentrated only on making money. Don't care who I need to manipulate, what lies I need to say, what corners I need to cut, or how many hours I need to work. All I wanted was to make money. Therefore, I have neglected my wife and my children a lot. All these vacations that I have gone with my family are a form of compensation to them because I feel super guilty for the absentee moments that I have with them. And during those vacations, I am not really present. I am always on my phone texting, checking and sending emails, or on my laptop checking things online. Not to mention, my attitude and my temper. You see another problem is my behavior. Being in money-making mode at all times robs you and prohibits you from really enjoying that time off with your family. We could have been on a beautiful beach and I could not enjoy it because I felt that I was wasting my time there when I could have been making money. What is the point of making money if you can't spend it and enjoy it with your loved one? This made me realize that I was doing several things wrong. One of those things was; how I was making my money and what I was doing to pursue my financial goals. You see, money was the number one priority for me. And a piece of paper or a number on a screen should not and cannot have that level of importance in any of our lives. I am not saying that money is not important because it is. What I am saying is that it cannot be our number one priority. Here is how I am trying to prioritize things in my life now. God of course is number one. But it has not always been that way but I am trying to put God first every day in everything that I do. Me second. And this one perhaps is one of the most difficult for me. Putting me second means taking care of me. Especially taking care of my body. I am obese and I need to do something in that regard but I am dropping the ball constantly. But I am taking baby steps and hopefully soon I will be in better shape and healthier. Third is my wife. The love of my life who has been through hell with me. I need to be a better husband and a better partner for her. I have a long way to go here too but I am a work in progress. Next in line are my children. I need to be a better example for them. I have 6 kids, 1 girl, and 5 boys. And I know that I have shown my daughter the wrong image of what she needs to look for in her future husband. And to my sons, I have not modeled them how a godly man should lead their homes and their families. So I have a lot of fixing and re-doing to do. Hoping that I am not too late. And then fulfilling my purpose in this life. And lastly making money. A completely different order on how I was doing things before. And my first step and perhaps the most important that I am doing right now is trying to seek God every day so He can give me the desires of my heart so I can do His will and seek His kingdom first instead of just money. And trust me when I tell you, it is not easy. I quit my job/business that I had. Taking a massing pay cut so I can spend more time with my family. I went to work as an employee for someone after many many years of being my own boss. I am working 6 days a week roughly 14 hours a day to make about 33% of what I was making before. But I get to see, kiss, and hug my wife and kids every day and that is more than worth it. Now I have to depend more on God for the provision for me and my family and that has been a major adjustment too. Now I have to wait for the things that I want to do in business and in my life because I don't have neither the time nor the resources to do them. Forcing me to slow down and talk to God more about these things and seek His wisdom and guidance so I can take more firm and secure steps. He revealed to me a while back what He created me for. So now I have the time to work on that. And while I am fulfilling my purpose, He is taking care of all my needs and wants too. Something that I never thought was going to be possible. I thought that I needed to make as much money as possible so I could have the time to do what God really created me to do. But instead, what He is showing me is that if I do His will, He will take care of all my wants and needs. I don't have to worry about those things anymore. He got me! Of course, as I mentioned before; it doesn't mean that I am sitting doing anything. But what it means is that I am doing my part and moving forward while trying not to worry as much about the things that I need and want. I am not rushing into things. I am trusting God more and I am trying to be obedient to Him and His word. And I am having a great time. It is scary, and to be honest sometimes painful. But I won't trade it for anything because, for the first time, I am experiencing or perhaps noticing how it feels when someone is taking care of me and looking after me. And that someone is God. God has always been there for me and for you too. We just ignore Him and sometimes we are so fullish to think that we can do better than the creator of the universe. How ignorant right? But thanks to His Grace and Mercy here we are. And the One that started the work in us will finish it. Seek God and His kingdom, align His will with your desires, and you will fulfill your purpose in this life. Leading you to experience real wealth and real success. Data: The Impact of Purpose on Success Studies show a direct correlation between clear personal purpose and perceived success. According to research by the University of California, individuals who align their profession with their personal values and purposes are 42% more likely to report high life satisfaction (University of California, 2019). Additionally, a Gallup poll indicates that businesses driven by purpose-oriented leaders tend to have 30% higher levels of innovation and 40% higher levels of retention (Gallup, 2018). The Problem: Misaligned Success Metrics In today’s fast-paced world, many measure success through material gain or social status, often leading to a misalignment between what they pursue and what truly brings them fulfillment. This disconnect can result in dissatisfaction and a lack of true accomplishment despite apparent successes. The Solution: Realignment and Recognition To genuinely achieve success, consider these steps: - Identify Your Purpose: Reflect deeply on what brings you joy and satisfaction beyond material rewards. - Set Purpose-Aligned Goals: Develop goals that reflect your purpose and set measurable milestones to track your progress. - Celebrate Purposeful Achievements: Recognize and celebrate each achievement that aligns with your purpose, regardless of its scale. By realigning our actions with our true purposes, we not only enhance our own sense of success but also contribute more meaningfully to the world around us. Conclusion: Defining Success on Your Terms In conclusion, redefining success as the fulfillment of purpose rather than the accumulation of wealth or status allows us to achieve a more profound and satisfying form of success. By understanding and pursuing what genuinely matters to us, we pave the way for a life of true accomplishment and joy. Read the full article

Addicted to fake bags online? Us Too. 6 Reasons We Just Can't Stop
The duplicate bag fad is almost nothing new. I remember when I was a youthful teenager wanting to glimpse her greatest, I assumed possessing a replica bag was the last word style assertion. I bought my really first designer duplicate bag from a local retail outlet. It had been a vintage Gucci tote that I assumed was so stylish and sophisticated. I try to remember clutching tightly on the handles and strutting down the street. I felt such as the belle of your ball!
I've due to the fact understood the notion of owning a duplicate bag is somewhat controversial. After all, the initial designer normally places their blood, sweat and tears into every layout, and knocks-off businesses merely go ahead and take credit history as their own personal. Regardless that I bought my replica bag a few years back, I however reflect fondly on each of the great moments I'd with that bag.
Concurrently, I understand how critical it is actually to shield the hard work and determination of designers, so for that explanation I do not buy reproduction luggage anymore. Continue to, It is really hard to disregard the cost tag of the first style and design, and repeatedly its just further than our financial achieve.
For this reason, I do think reproduction bags have their place in the fashion field. It's true that there are downsides to owning a replica such as very poor quality and material, but if worn respectfully they can be extras that help us develop distinctive and amazing looks. Also, I believe It truly is doable to locate a middle floor - a single could nonetheless respect the original patterns without having getting knock-offs.
Despite the fact that I do not Individually have duplicate baggage anymore, I am aware Many individuals who do, and to use an idiom, ‘all of it depends on the person’. For many, the only difference between an reliable and duplicate bag is the value tag. They do not care about recognition or excellent, They simply want to avoid wasting a couple of dollars whatever way they might.
I am able to thoroughly empathize with this particular perspective. In spite of everything, I've been there myself, desirous to truly feel beautiful and classy in my duplicate Gucci bag. But I also fully grasp the vital part of a designer and the necessity of guarding their rights as well as their hard work.
I recall the first time I observed a fake bag. I used to be shopping in my neighborhood mall and stumbled throughout this gorgeous designer handbag. I was so mesmerised by its splendor that I promptly assumed it absolutely was legitimate. Small did I are aware that it absolutely was actually a counterfeit! I'm able to nevertheless remember the depth from the disappointment After i identified the reality.
Initially, I assumed to myself, how can someone get away with developing copies of authentic designer bags? Then I realised the demand from customers for designer goods has developed exponentially, and counterfeiters are Making the most of this. Faux baggage are in all places now, fake bags online and It can be really unfortunate to think about.
I'm confident many of us have purchased a bogus designer bag without having realising it. All things considered, the counterfeiters have their Skilled touch. It is not easy to inform the distinction between a true in addition to a pretend bag. Even professional consumers can be fooled.
Nonetheless, There are several notify-tale indicators like the worth tag, and the quality of the leather-based utilized, which can help determine a faux. If you are scared of getting duped, do your analysis and Ensure that the bag you might be buying is the real deal.
I sense guilty figuring out that there is an business that usually takes advantage of people today. But the reality is, quite a bit of shoppers have their own individual causes for getting fake luggage. Some people cannot pay for originals, while some are searching for a good deal.
Enough individuals have been scammed and duped by getting phony baggage. It is best to stay clear of counterfeits completely. Real, They could search seemingly genuine and sense high-class, but that's only intending to very last for so extended. Lower-excellent elements and lousy craftsmanship necessarily mean your phony bag will not likely stand the take a look at of your time.
What is actually even worse is, purchasing a faux bag doesn't only reward the seller but supports a much larger, felony underworld. In addition to that, promoting phony goods can conclude you up in jail if you receive caught, so It truly is constantly ideal to stay away from fakes.
So, if you are ever considering purchasing a designer bag, I might urge you to order only from authorised dealers. This way, you are able to be certain it's genuine and Safe and sound. Furthermore, with all The cash you help you save from shopping for fakes, you will have adequate to purchase an excellent primary. So It really is generally most effective to be careful in making purchases.
I suppose I’m stuck in the middle, acquiring noticed both sides in the coin. I might not have a designer tote any longer, but I can recognize the value, craft and high quality that went into it. And After i do see someone carrying a stunning original piece, I'm able to’t support but admire the hassle and creativeness driving it.
So, On the subject of replica luggage, what seriously defines them? Could it be the craftsmanship, the originality, or maybe the bit of head that goes as well as it? Or can it be just about the cost tag?
In the end, I think replica luggage must be considered style statements that ought to be revered and appreciated, much like the primary pieces. All things considered, they help us get monetary savings without the need of compromising our model in any way, and for that they need to be deemed a valuable addition to any individual’s assortment of baggage.
Taking a deeper look at the subject of replica luggage, there’s a lot more to them than simply knock-offs of originals. Some knock-off makes became incredibly Artistic, Doing work hard to develop handbags with amazing craftsmanship and cocktails of supplies that wouldn't normally be discovered on a conventional designer piece. They attract inspiration from the original and come up with patterns that are remarkably fashionable - showcasing their own personal unique magnificence as opposed to just copying a design and style from in other places.
A lot more, the fashion sector is observing a advancement of replicated models gaining traction, as Increasingly more buyers glimpse to incorporate a singular touch for their wardrobe without having breaking the financial institution. Yes, the knock-off market place carries its share of lower quality bags, but even duplicate baggage appear in numerous grades now.
It is really legitimate that designer originals will always remain originals, but the marketplace for knock-offs has grown considerably over time, featuring The buyer bit of head even though nevertheless being able to express their own design at a fraction of the associated fee. Individually, I think there’s a specific attract the knock-off market which can’t be denied. Anyone would like to shave several hundred of the price of buying a designer bag, so it’s Secure to state that replica luggage are going to be around for pretty a while.
Moreover, There are tons of different thoughts about the make any difference. Many people may argue that buying knock-offs supports the unethical tactics of discount retailers, while others may possibly propose that it encourages creativity and really helps to deliver up the regular of trend pieces. Some could be completely indifferent towards the matter, but regardless, it’s one thing well worth talking about and mulling in excess of.
At the end of the day, Every person has their very own opinion on replica baggage, And that i’m no exception. As much as I’d choose to avoid the knock-off current market, I’ll confess that there are occasions Once i discover myself waving for the taxi by using a replica bag by my facet. Without a doubt it’s a private selection that every of us really need to make for ourselves, And that i’m sure it’s a topic that may proceed to generally be the resource of diverse debates.

Need A Financial Upgrade? 5 Practical Strategies that Will Change Your Life
So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches? (Luke 16:11 NIV)
If someone walked into the room you’re sitting in right now and handed you a check for your personal use for 1 million dollars, would you know what to do with it?
Let’s call it the million-dollar question. Maybe that’s a lot of money to you, or maybe you live in a major city where it would buy you a one bedroom apartment that’s really just a converted studio. Either way, I think this question reveals a lot about our desires.
You have a relationship with money. It may be dysfunctional, ambivalent, or healthy and biblical. The fact remains, we all need it, and we all need to make our peace with that fact. You may not think of anything to do with money as a spiritual discipline, but here’s where you’d be wrong. Jesus talks about money more than faith and prayer combined in the gospels. This gives me the sneaking suspicion that God really cares about what we do with it and how we steward it.
My personal relationship with money has been dysfunctional up until just a few years ago, and we’re still working out the kinks. We still argue now and again, but for the most part we have made our peace. I endeavor to one day say what Paul the apostle states in Philippians 4:11-13 (ESV):
Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
For the most part, that “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” is used as a catch-all for being able to do impossible things for Jesus. What Paul is actually aiming at here is letting the Philippian church know that he’s thankful for the financial gift that they sent, but if they don’t provide, God will and the job will get done because Jesus is the one who is really in control, and Paul is content with that.
There are two ends of the spectrum when it comes to money that I will use as extremes to make a point. Try your best to avoid placing yourself outside these categories of idolatry even though I am using hyperbole to force my argument. We all live in this space somewhere and need to land where God wants us to when it comes to money— living as good stewards of a temporal tool that is used to expand the eternal Kingdom.

Here are the categories we all fall into at some point more or less, and both can leave us stranded on the rocks, shipwrecked and grasping for something that simply floats.
1. The unsatisfied and rich worshiper of mammon
2. The unsatisfied and poor worshiper of mammon
When I speak here about dissatisfaction, I’m not talking about a holy and righteous fervor that drives us closer to the King and out of our placid and boring routine Christianity. That is a good dissatisfaction and it should be steeped in like a good pot of cowboy coffee in the wild. Let it be as thick and as potent as possible, and drink it to the dregs.
The dissatisfaction I’m speaking about is the kind that is thankful for very little, frustrated at their current financial position in life, envious of others’ success and happiness, and constantly accumulating “stuff” to fill some kind of gaping hole in their heart.
Both types are frustrated, and both types serve the same god of money whether they are aware of it or not.
Take a moment and truly look at your life when it comes to money and your relationship with it. Is there any part of you that is envious of others’ gain? Any portion of you that hates the rich simply for the fact that they have more than you? Is there part of you that can’t let go of your possessions, whether it be wealth or even control of relationships? Is there any part of you that needs to accumulate the things of this earth without a thought toward eternal reward?
Simply put, whether it is a lot or a little, is money keeping you from full communion with Jesus? This is not a judgment on the rich or the poor. It is a judgment of the heart. Where are your true riches? You may never be rich and, God bless you, you may never be broke, but where is your heart?
There is a simple answer to break free from this cycle and from this false god. If you serve God with your life and habits, everything in you will tell you that this is not the way. That what I am about to say is Old Testament or religious or pharisaical. That, in short, you are entitled to your feelings and your patterns of behavior. But if you really want to be free, this is where you will start. Tithe.
There is a lot of talk in this generation about whether or not this is a New Testament concept. It is clearly a biblical principle that fits the entire narrative of scripture, and those who deny it are usually stingy and not trying with all their might to find a way to be New Testament generous (sell everything and lay it at the apostles’ feet). But here, let’s just view it simply as a spiritual discipline.
When you learn to give your money, specifically, to your local church, you take yourself out of the position of victim and beggar and into the position of provider and giver. You are acknowledging the fact that it is God who provides and cares for your needs.
The issue with money is a simple one, but for many a difficult wrestle. Not everyone will be rich, but everyone can be rich toward God. Wealth in the Kingdom is not necessarily seen as “How much do you have?” but more “What did you do with what you were given?”
Neither poverty nor great accumulation of wealth are inherently holy. What matters is how you honor God with your wealth in the end. Truly, in the end. You will not be judged based on what someone else had or be compared to another. You will be judged based on what you did with what you were given. This is the focal point of stewardship in the Bible. Everything that you have has been given to you. Gifts, talents, ability, upbringing, all of it. So now, what will you do with that in order to stay on the path?
The choice is yours.
The Path to Monetary Discipline
As almost everyone knows, money needs a plan before it arrives in your bank account so that you are managing your money and it’s not managing you.
Whether you have a lot or a little, here is what I suggest. Sit down with your spouse, if you have one, and write these down.
1. Pray and Begin Tithing
Money can be a sticky issue for many people. It’s best to invite God and His word into your financial planning. What He says goes. Everyone has different gifts, values, and goals; these first need to align with what God wants you to do with your money.
You should immediately begin giving to your local church; this is the first step in biblical generosity. If you don’t want to tithe, that’s fine; go with the New Testament standard—sell everything, and lay it at the feet of your spiritual leaders with no strings attached.
2. Write Down Your Values
What are your actual values when it comes to money? Investment for the future? Memorable experiences? Over the top generosity? Frugality? Luxury?
Write a few down and then find common ground if you’re “negotiating” with a spouse.
3. Set Financial Goals
This may seem obvious, but most people don’t have them. The way my wife and I do this is that we choose an amount at the beginning of each year that we would like to give away. The fact that you are tithing to your local church should go without saying. How much over and above that do you want to give? Generosity is the main thrust of our financial goal setting. We find our needs are well taken care of since this mindset shift.
4. Write Down a Budget
This is another obvious one, but very rarely seen practice. Use whatever system you need to. If your income fluctuates, use a percentage system in order of biblical values. Our basic order is: give, invest, take care of needs, vacation saving, holiday saving, wants or extra toward goals. This is simple, and life throws curve balls, but at least you can be ready for them when they come.
5. Be Grateful
Cultivate a sense of gratitude for every single solitary thing that happens to you. This is often learned in difficulty, but it doesn’t have to be. Start a list of things you are grateful for. You can start with intangibles, but when it comes to actual provision from God, celebrate it like crazy. You may seem crazy to your friends, but if you’re going to be rich, be joyful, and if you end up broke, be joyful.

Hi unofficial compilation of Getting Away From A Place tips
this is tailored to a specific situation so please do your own research for stuff more specific to you
running away tips subreddit
Short Term Preparation:
These are the things you can prepare now if you have to get out fast and unexpectedly
Do not tell anyone about your plan other than those directly involved in helping you.
Make a plan for your cash. You don't want to access an account your family can access or freeze. Slowly withdraw money and hide it if it's at risk of being taken. Withdrawing it all the day you leave will raise a red flag and have you on camera (atm or bank), if you even have time. As a legal adult, you may be able to get away with this because you aren't doing anything against the law. Just make sure to do it before your family finds out about you leaving. When you leave, if you don’t want to be traced- don’t use cards.
For hiding paper cash- you know your house and its occupants best. Determine what objects you have that won't be thrown away or tampered with by someone, and if they have a hollow space, store it. I used to use opaque pill bottles, hidden pockets or bindings in notebooks, the linings of old dvd or game cases, water bottles, gum cases, (all of these put in clothing or backpack pockets), opening the lining of coats and backpacks and hiding it inside of that, inside of hygeine products like the hollow part of a deodorant stick. Inside old electronics. in the stuffing of a plushie. Underneath the insoles of shoes you dont wear often.
Even if your money isn't at risk of being taken, store some of it separately anyway for emergencies.
I heard the bare minimum for running away with no destination or job is $1k. Judge for yourself your needs.
Get a backpack. Waterproof/resistant is better, but any is good. Don't pack it yet, so you don't arouse suspicion. But test out packing it to see if everything fits, and unpack it. Modify some hidden compartments so that when you travel, you will have places to hide your IDs and Cash- it's necessary so no one steals it. You want to travel light, regardless of your situation, because packing and carrying a ton of stuff takes time and you don't always have time on the day you leave.
Get a secondary bag. I learned the hard way that a backpack doesn't fit everything you'll need. Especially with amenities, food, clothing, personal possessions.... A duffel bag, one of those canvas grocery bags. A tote. Something to hold by hand.
Packing lists for running away are surprisingly similar to emergency evacuation pack lists.
Clothes to pack: 1 short sleeve shirt. 1 long sleeve shirt. 1 pair of pants. 7 sock pairs. 7 underwear pairs. 1 jacket. Some winter gear if you can, because nights will always be cold especially if you are stuck outside.
Hygeine to pack: deodorant. toothpaste. toothbrush. floss. baking soda if you’ll be on the road for a long time. Special products you may need- cream for a skin condition, sunscreen. I recommend a small essential oil bottle as a bug repellent, and some have antibacterial properties to help you/your clothes not smell musty af, and they're safe on the skin.
Must-haves to pack: you should have your social security card and another form of ID, like a state ID or drivers license. Pass port if you have one, and birth certificate or a copy if you can. Your cash. A map of your state/region.
Valuables to pack: bring a few things to keep you entertained that are small. A small book, or a notebook and pen. Try not for anything too heavy or bulky. Any survival gear you may own (sewing kits, first aid, multitools, matches, lighters).
If you will be staying outside, get a sleeping bag. Thermal blanket for cold temps.
Food to pack: bring healthy nonperishable food. Junk food won't do much for you on the move. Go for granola/protein bars, dried fruit, meat bars, jars of nut butters, canned food. A water bottle. Bring all medication you need.
Stuff to wear on you: go for baggy and multi-pocketed stuff. Don't wear your favorite clothing if you don't want to be identified, and make sure they blend well into the environment. Grey is the most unnoticeable color, then black, then neutrals. If identification isn't a problem, only wear and pack your favorite things. Wear comfortable and travel safe shirt and pants. Wear a hoodie or tie it around your waist so it doesnt take up bag space. A hat. Keep some cash in a hidden pocket if you can. Wear comfortable sneakers you can move around in for a long time and is good for the weather of where you live. Keep your self defense on you - knives, pepper spray, etc. (and learn the laws for those in your area)
Note: Storing some of these supplies around or in hiding places won't be too weird. Keeping the 'valuables' in the backpack won't be too strange to anyone either. Keeping everything nearby so you can quickly dump everything in the bags and go is a good idea. But Do Not Pack the clothes until the day you leave. clothes are a warning signal for leaving. And you cannot let them find out about your plans, especially if you are in a dangerous place.
Last note: know these are flexible to you. You can add or change stuff, as long as you have the most important things.
Long Term:
These are the things you can prepare for better
Save as much money as possible. You can secretly sell things.
Research more about what you may experience, be that attaining financial independence or how to train hop and live on the streets temporarily. Look at other people's tips for running away, or their experiences. Research moving out tips. Research specific to your area or where you will be headed. Libraries, shelters, charities, support organizations, 24-hour restaurants and locations. Research ticket prices, gas prices, etc. Apartment search. Be sure to remove those from your history. Cleaning it entirely may be suspicious if someone monitors that.
Build a budget and a food plan for how you will use your savings on the road.
As an adult, if you manage to get hired secretly for a job in your target location, you can apply for housing there, too. You will get set move-in dates and can give dates you can start working that work with your runaway schedule.
If you're running away as a minor, you can't stay with friends. However, as an adult you can. If someone is trying to find you, you'll have to be careful still.
If you need to leave fake trails because someone might search for you, there are some excellent resources by people trying to hide from domestic violence. The main tips are leaving fake trails in cities far away from wherever you will be- job applications you have no intention of following through on, apartment applications, phone calls, internet searches, purchases, etc. These can go more in-depth.
If you will be tracked, figure out how to get a burner phone. These are pretty cheap, and so are their service plans. You may want to consider this anyway to pay for your own service if your phone is taken off the existing one. Write down phone numbers you want to keep.
Make sure you have the proper amounts of medications you will need.
Be careful with this one, but figure out if you have any smaller hard-to-replace valuables that you want to bring to your new life but can't pack for your method of travel or might get stolen. Only do this if you have a place you are going to, and are going to get a job and housing there. Make a plan with a trusted friend to hold on to a few things you cannot carry in your bags and arrange for them to be mailed or picked up later. Only do this with one or two things that are easy to carry, because you will need to get it to them somehow, right? dont do this if you don't have the methods or the time before your runaway day. A good example is that I don't want to replace my laptop but I can't tow it through town and across state lines on a train. my friend can take care of it until I am settled.
Tie off any loose ends that you need to. This can be waiting for a responsibility to be gone, waiting for a last paycheck, or attending something you wanted to go to one last time.
Delete old accounts, and eventually deleting your emails and social media associated with your identity.
Note: The best thing you can do with time is make your supplies as efficient as possible, and plan. plan plan plan.
Schedule your leave date. or a range of leaving dates. But know sometimes it can be unpredictable. Make it a day when no one is home- especially if it's a dangerous situation.
On Runaway Day:
Hopefully you have a small window of time where you are alone.
Make sure you’re wearing all your runaway clothes you have prepared.
Pack your backpack and duffel bag quickly.
Leave a note, even if you don't want to. This is important, because you don't want a search for you because someone thought you were kidnapped or murdered. This way, officials can pretty much ignore it since it was voluntary.
Don’t look nervous or afraid while you are out, since that’ll draw unwanted attention.
If you made a plan for someone to pick you up, or to meet someone, make sure they are punctual. Don't meet right in front of your house if possible. Go a few streets away or somewhere less noticeable. Again, make sure whatever you bring is easy to carry so you move fast and no one tries to steal it.
If unfortunately you have to leave very quickly and haphazardly, leave anything not immediately important to survival behind.
Buy your burner phone with cash. Add your written numbers to the contacts. Create your new email and social media from there. If you're hiding, don't take pictures of yourself. Don't use your real name or information. Keep private accounts, and don't interact with anyone who will give you away.
If you have other travel plans, make your way there. Head to your safe places, your shelter, wherever you have planned. You are in your new life.
Once You Are Out:
Take care of your immediate needs. Find resources for food, water, and shelter.
Start accessing any support resources, regardless of what your situation is. In a town I lived in, there was an LGBTQ+ resource center that had entertainment/food/clothing/education clubs/showering/laundry/other amenities and programs for both lgbtq+ and homeless youth. I also took part in a gift drive for a specific minority that I qualified as, which gave me a lot of food.
Start working towards your future goals. Start job searching, and from there being able to secure housing. Start making friends. build a support structure. i hope it goes well
Rebuild your supplies and closet when you have the location security to do so.

Bestfriend (College!Childe x College!Reader) PART 1
note: hello! i'm going to be making an entire college au series for the genshin characters ehe. this is a pretty lengthy one so i had to cut it into two parts. i hope you enjoy!
word count: 4.4k
"Why can't I get this shit to work?!"
You checked the clock.
3:28 AM.
Great. You had a half-seven morning class with professor Cyrus, and yet, here you were. Baking cookies at 3:28 AM. Although, baking wasn't really the appropriate term for it. Maybe... burning was a better fit.
You weren't a culinary arts major; Far from it, actually. You were in a college course that needed immense analytical and critical thinking skills: Accounting. You loved your course. You were always amazed by how numbers can always add up properly if you analyzed all the transactions properly beforehand. It also gave you more patience to thoroughly understand each problem presented to you so that you'd end up with the right answer in the end.
Which is why you were so dumbfounded when your cookies looked like pieces of charcoal the moment you took them out of the oven.
You followed the recipe, didn't you? Why don't your baked goodies look like those gorgeous gooey chocolate chip cookies on the website?
That was the... fourth batch of cookies you made that night. Frustrated, you carelessly threw the still-hot baking sheet in the sink. You didn't even mind that there were crumbs and burnt cookie residue in your damp sink. Like, there were burnt cookies on your counter, on your dining table, and even on your stovetop. Why be bothered about the sink, right? You could clean it up in the morning, anyway.
"Why am I even doing this?" You sighed, eyeing how there was a bit of black smoke coming out of your oven. You opened a window and fanned it out to prevent the smoke detector from going off. You didn't need more nuances adding to your already dwindling patience.
Taking in the sight of the flour, sugar, and egg-coated workstation you had, you realized that baking just wasn't your forte. If only your boyfriend was interested in receiving his complete financial statements for the year, then maybe you'd have an easier time in thinking of a present for his birthday.
You looked at the calendar.
July 20th.
It was the day of Childe's birthday.
He informed you yesterday that his friends had invited him to go to a party the night of the 20th to celebrate his birthday, and you politely declined his offer for you to be his plus one. Of course, he was disappointed. You could notice by how his cerulean eyes drooped to the floor and how his thin, pink lips pushed themselves into a pout.
"But... You have to be there, _____." He whined, taking your hands in his.
"I know, Childe. But you know that I have to review my presentation for professor An's class. It's going to make or break my term grade." You were disappointed. You wanted to spend the entire day with Childe, maybe cuddled up in bed, eating hot pizza and watching Netflix. However, you knew how much he loved partying and hanging out with his friends- Kaeya, was it? and the other boys in their fraternity. You disapproved of his frat-boy party-going lifestyle, but you didn't want to impose, so you just kept it to yourself.
"But it's my birthday," He reasoned, voice laced with sadness.
"I know, darling. I know. We can still spend the entire afternoon together before you head out to party with your friends... If you want. You're free for the entire day, right?" Your voice faltered a bit, unsure of whether he'd accept your proposal or not.
"Mhm! I'd be more than happy to spend the whole afternoon tomorrow with you, babe. We can hit the amusement park, or maybe watch a movie, or maybe have a picnic, or..."
As Childe continued to ramble on about all the possible plans you could do tomorrow, you couldn't help but smile at him. How his demeanor changed, and how he could never seem to hold a grudge against you even if he was upset. He spoiled you so much and you wanted to let him know that you appreciate him as much as he loves you.
And... Here you were.
You didn't expect baking to be so hard. You thought that following a simple recipe would lead to a great outcome the first time around.
Look how that turned out for you. Your tokens of appreciation for Childe were there. In the sink, on the counter, on the dining table, and on the stovetop. All burnt and inedible.
"Fuck this baking thing, I'll just get Zhongli to help me before lunch." You muttered, taking off your apron and retreating to your couch. You didn't want to sleep in your bed because your clothes were still messy, but you were too tired to clean up (too pissed to even care, to be honest).
And so, you flopped on the couch and set an alarm for 6:00 AM before you drifted off to sleep, dreaming of burnt baking pans and noisy smoke detectors.
-
The annoying sound of your alarm rang in your ears like a never-ending mockery of how your life is going. Why do morning classes exist? Why do alarms exist?
You groggily rubbed your eyes and rolled off the couch, landing on the carpet with a soft "thud". You blindly felt around the coffee table to look for your phone. Upon feeling the silicone texture of your case, you pulled it towards your chest and squinted your eyes as the bright display of the lock screen glared against your eyeballs.
You opened your phone by using the passcode (0720, go ahead and guess what that means) and tapped on the green message icon to open your texts. You then quickly typed out a message for a certain history major.
[ Hey, Zhongli, mind if you help me out before lunch later so I could bake some cookies for Childe? ]
Sent 6:04 AM.
You looked up at the ceiling and waited for a while, already planning out your itinerary for the day. The ding! of your phone was heard, waking you more than you already were.
[ I don't see why not. I have a vacant period right before lunch. I'm off at 9:00 and I'm vacant until noon. Are you free then? ]
Received 6:06 AM.
You couldn't help but grin. Zhongli was so kind. He was Childe's friend since high school, and although you found him somehow... creepy because of the knowledge he possesses (Seriously, was his brain implanted with a computer chip or something?), you still considered him a good friend.
[ Thank you so much! Yeah, I only have one class today anyway. I'll meet you in front of the main building by 9:00. ]
Sent 6:08 AM.
You got up from the carpet and stretched for a bit, wincing when the small burn on your arm stung. You had a few cuts and burns on your hands, fingers, and arms because of how clumsy you were in the kitchen, but it was fine. Who doesn't fuck up from time-to-time
You headed to the kitchen to clean up. You dumped all the burnt biscuits into a large garbage bag, wiped the counters, and put the dirty dishes in the dishwasher. Most of the mess was already gone and disposed of, and you whispered to yourself that you could probably deep-clean later that evening after reviewing your presentation.
The ding! of your phone brought your attention back, and you smiled at Zhongli's response.
[ I'll see you then, _____. I appreciate you doing all this for Childe. ]
Received 6:15 AM.
You quickly made your way to your bedroom and grabbed different pieces to throw together a decent outfit. You assumed that Childe wouldn't let you go by the time that your little date would begin, so it's best to be prepared.
You hopped in the shower and did your morning routine, making sure to use your favorite body wash, which happened to be Childe's favorite scent. You dried your hair afterwards and threw on the outfit you prepared earlier. You checked your phone.
6:45 AM.
There weren't any new messages from Childe, so you assumed that he was still asleep. After all, it's his day-off from uni. The lucky bastard got to get one whole day without lectures, and the freest day you had still required you to attend one morning lecture.
"I have to rush to McDonald's if I want to make it in time," You whispered, grabbing your bag and slipping your shoes on before rushing out the door.
You wanted to buy Childe a nice breakfast before heading to your own class. So, you sprinted to the McDonald's just a corner away from your dorm and stood in line. You ordered his favorite breakfast meal: A big breakfast deluxe set with hot chocolate, five-piece nuggets, and a side of apple pie. You also ordered a McGriddle for yourself that you could sneakily bite out of in class.
Childe's apartment was right beside the McDonald's you went to, so it wasn't any trouble reaching where he was. You checked your phone again.
7:10 AM.
Crap. Twenty minutes until your lecture with professor Cyrus. Childe still seemed to be asleep, so you decided to leave his breakfast with the receptionist, Verr Goldet. She already knew who you were because of how often Childe invites you to his apartment.
"I'm really sorry to leave this with you, Verr. But I have to get to class in twenty minutes and I think that Childe is still asleep." You said sheepishly, placing the paper bag on her counter and fiddling with the strap of your bag.
"Oh, _____, you act as if I'm a stranger!" She laughed, taking the paper bag and placing it behind her. "Don't worry, I'll keep it warm for him. Would you like to leave a note?"
"Ah, yes please!" You took a piece of paper and a pen from your bag and scribbled a short message for the ginger.
Happy birthday, Childe! Have a hearty breakfast, I got your favorites. I'll see you later for lunch, okay? I love you! ♡
You tried to make your handwriting as neat as possible, and even added a messy doodle of the man himself. Although, it did look more like a potato than the man you were trying to draw.
"How cute you are." Verr sighed, "It must be nice to feel the wonders of youth."
"Thank you so much, Verr! I really have to get going if I want to get to uni in time."
"You're welcome, _____!"
You bid your farewells and headed out of the apartment's lobby, walking towards the shuttle stop nearest to you. You had at least fifteen minutes before professor Cyrus' class. The shuttle was about ten minutes away from uni, and it would take you a little over five minutes to get to his lecture hall. While waiting for the shuttle, you quickly tapped out a message for your boyfriend.
[ I left something with Verr for you downstairs. You better get it as soon as you wake up ♡ ]
Sent 7:15 AM.
The shuttle arrived as soon as you hit send. You showed your ID to the driver and scrambled for a seat, shoving earbuds in your ears to drown out the rest of the world with a bit of music. Fortunately, the shuttle ride was quicker than usual since there were lesser stops for that day. You gave a light bow to the driver before you rushed out of the shuttle doors and bolted to get to your lecture hall.
It was on the third floor of the left wing of the main building. You were desperately trying to catch your breath as you felt a burn rising in your lungs. You wanted to puke because of how hungry and tired you felt so early in the morning, but you brushed it off.
You sprinted down the hallway to professor Cyrus' lecture hall, seeing that nearly all the seats were occupied. There were still a few vacant seats at the back, but you were glad to see your friend, Xingqiu, waving you over from the middle row.
"Thanks for saving me a seat," You thanked your blue-haired friend, fixing your hair and disheveled clothes. You sat down just in time as professor Cyrus walked into the lecture hall and began setting up his laptop to present.
"No worries. I knew you'd be late. It's Childe's birthday today, no? You've been talking about it all week. I already expected that you'd do something for him this morning." He said, not even batting an eyelash as he carefully opened his laptop in front of him.
"That predictable, huh?" You chuckled, placing your own laptop on the table and taking out the McGriddle you shoved in your bag earlier. Professor Cyrus seemed to be tweaking a few things on his presentation, so you decided to use the spare minutes to eat the sandwich you purchased.
You scarfed it down in a few bites, leaving Xingqiu confused and a bit scared. He thought you were going to choke.
"Didn't you have breakfast before you left your dorm?" He asked, marveling at how you managed to eat the McGriddle in- four, maybe five? bites.
"I mean, I bought this," You said, motioning to the crumpled up wrapper in your hand. "It was getting late since I dropped by Childe's apartment to leave him his breakfast."
"How charming of you, _____." Xingqiu chuckled, slipping on his glasses.
"I wonder if he's awake now," You mumbled, loud enough for Xingqiu to hear, but he didn't react to it.
You opened your phone and saw seven messages from your dorky boyfriend.
[ _____ you're gonna make me cry ]
Sent 7:28 AM.
[ Where are you now? Are you already at uni? ]
Sent 7:29 AM.
[ God, I love you so much, _____! You even got me nuggets!! ]
Sent 7:30 AM.
[ I love you sooo much!! You're so cute it's unreal!! Btw, is this supposed to be me?? Do I really look like that??!! ]
Sent 7:31 AM.

Sent 7:31 AM.
[ I'll see you later at noon. I'll pick you up at your dorm, okay? ]
Sent 7:32 AM.
[ You must be in class now. Good luck!! I'm already eating. Thank you so much, darling! I love you!! ♡ ]
Sent 7:34 AM.
You couldn't help but smile at how his aura radiated even through the screen of your phone. You clicked on the notification from Instagram and it opened to a video on Childe's story. It was a boomerang of him making a winky face and then showing his meal neatly placed on his table.
There was a caption beside a heart sticker which read:
What a great way to start my birthday. Thanks to my lovely @_____. I love you so much! ♡
A familiar warmth spread throughout your chest and you couldn't help but smile at how sweet he was. It was amazing, really. Childe's words and actions always had such an effect on you, and it didn't even matter how you were the one who did a romantic gesture for him because you were here all blushy and gushy over his sickeningly sweet messages of affection.
You put your phone away as soon as professor Cyrus soon started his lecture on the different trading policies limited by oversea regulations- or something like that.
The lesson itself was interesting, but you couldn't help to nod off and daydream about your wonderfully dorky boyfriend and his beautiful eyes, his cute button nose, his slim cheeks, his pink lips.
Childe sneezed.
-
As soon as the last bell rang, you quickly gathered your things and shoved them in your bag. You nodded a swift goodbye to Xingqiu before running off to the entrance of the main building.
Zhongli messaged you that his lecture ended earlier than expected, and that he was waiting for you by the entrance already.
You saw the brunette sitting on one of the benches, a thick history book in hand and reading glasses firmly sitting on top of his nose. You noticed a few girls just a couple of feet away from him. They were eyeing him up, probably drinking in the sight of this beautifully constructed creature.
You chuckled. It was common for you to be more aware of people fawning over Childe and Zhongli. They were a couple of incredibly hot males, you knew that. You got used to the sight of other people gawking and eye-fucking your boyfriend and his bestfriend that it was just hilarious and amusing at this point.
"Zhong!" You called, earning the attention of both Zhongli and the group of girls.
"Ah, _____. Glad you're finally here." He closed his book and tucked it away in his satchel (This man owned a satchel) before he stood up to greet you.
"Were you waiting long? Sorry." You said sheepishly.
"No, not at all. I was enthralled by this one chapter on the Ming Dynasty and their more underrated feats. History never fails to amuse me." Zhongli replied, a glint sparkling in his amber eyes.
"Hey, um," You inched yourself closer to him, "Mind if we go on ahead? Some of your fangirls are scaring the hell out of me." From the corner of your eye, you could see how they were drilling holes at your head from staring too hard. You could've sworn one girl was even holding her phone up, as if taking a photo.
"What?" The taller man whipped around to look at the girls and they scurried off upon seeing the intimidating glare in his eyes.
"You and Childe really attract attention everywhere you go, don't you?" You chuckled, walking towards the shuttle station.
"Childe, certainly. He, along with his... fraternity brothers do attract quite the crowd whenever they are together. As for myself, I doubt it. I'm more of the silent-type compared to him, anyway."
"Are you kidding me?" You bit your tongue to hold back the thought.
"I see."
"Those girls look familiar, though." He mentioned.
"Oh? Maybe history majors as well?"
"_____, if they were history majors, I would've at least recognized their faces more clearly. I feel like I've seen them somewhere."
"Ah, my bad. You and your eerily accurate memory." You teased, climbing onto the shuttle and sitting on one of the empty seats.
"It is not eerie, thank you very much." He retorted with a snarky tone, joining you on the seat.
"Of course it isn't. You remember what I said to Childe when we were watching that one movie Rex Lapis: Revenge of the Fallen?"
"Indeed I do. You said, "Rex Lapis would be hot if he was a human, don't you think?" and Childe replied, "Yeah, but I could probably beat him up. I'd be way hotter than him." It was comedy, really. Rex Lapis, although a fictional figure, has far more capabilities than Childe could even dream of."
"Do you... not see the eerie part of that?"
"What? That Childe thinks he can beat up an actual Archon?"
"No... Zhongli, we watched that movie three years ago."
"Your point is?"
"...I can't even remember what I had for lunch yesterday."
"Childe bought you some sushi."
"See what I mean?!"
"That means you have a poor memory, _____." Zhongli laughed at your face curling into a frown. "Anyway, while you were entertaining me with your banter, I recalled why those girls are so familiar."
"Do tell."
"They're part of Childe's posse."
You could've sworn your heart leapt to your throat. You knew that your boyfriend was pretty much sculpted by the Archons themselves, but, really? a fucking posse?
Zhongli noticed how the lump in your throat bobbed, and he decided that it was better to calmly explain how and why he knew about it.
"See, it was during the first year of university. Childe started hanging around Kaeya and his other fraternity brothers. There was this one occasion where Childe was nearly black-out drunk in a bar. If I didn't see on Kaeya's Instagram story, I wouldn't have known," You noticed how Zhongli's face visibly darkened, "These girls were hanging off him like koalas to a strong tree branch. It was unsightly."
"I... see."
"Although he was about to pass out, he pushed them away. Charming, really. He was already crazy about you even during the first year of uni. Even though you weren't together yet, he didn't want to "cheat" on you by entertaining other females." A soft smile made its way to your face upon hearing Zhongli's confession about how your boyfriend felt about you.
"I'm determined to make these cookies a success," You said determinedly.
"Glad to hear it. It seems we're already at your dormitory. You still have enough ingredients for the cookies, right? I assume you failed quite a few times yesterday."
"How did you even know?"
Zhongli once again laughed as you stepped off the shuttle, "Lucky guess."
Unbeknownst to the two of you, three figures were following you the moment you left the campus.
-
"_____ is so sweet! They got my favorite breakfast this morning." Childe mindlessly gushed over his significant other.
Diluc wasn't really one to listen to other people ramble on and on about feelings and love and romance, but it was his friend's birthday. He'd let it slide.
"Bro, that's just gross," Kaeya spat, taking a chug of his beer.
"Oh, shut up, Kaeya. Just because you don't plan on committing to anyone doesn't mean the people around you are obligated to do so as well." Diluc rebutted, without even looking up from his journal.
"You're in college. It's the time when you're supposed to have a shit ton of flings, no commitment. And yet you're here being loyal to _____?" Kaeya glared at Diluc, but the redhead only flipped him off.
"I don't see the problem with that." Childe spoke up, toying with the bracelet on his wrist. It was a gift from you during your first anniversary. You said you made it yourself, and although Childe could purchase all the expensive jewelry and accessories he wanted, this particular bracelet meant more to him than anything.
"The problem is _____'s going to hold you back!" Childe knew that Kaeya was half-drunk and it was still before noon, so he didn't really take his words seriously. "They aren't going to the party later, right?"
"No, unfortunately. They have to review a presentation for professor An's class."
"Hah! Review my ass. If I knew any better, that little toy of yours is just messing around with some other dude."
"Watch yourself." Childe stood up from his seat. He knew that Kaeya disapproved of their relationship because it wasn't really a "frat-boy" thing, but he didn't care about that. He cared about you more than a stupid reputation, and definitely more than a stupid lifestyle of partying, getting high, and getting drunk.
"Back up, softie. _____'s pussyness rubbing of on 'ya?" Kaeya's words were slurred, but Childe knew that there was malicious intent behind them.
"Look, I don't care about what you say about me. Call me a softie? Call me a pussy? I don't really give a shit. But the moment you start shitting on my _____? Don't even consider that I'd just stand around and let them be slandered, you piece of fuck." Childe was a few centimeters taller than Kaeya, and he always used that to his advantage when he wanted Kaeya to understand his point.
"Whatever you fucking say. It's your birthday, I'm not gonna fight with you on your birthday." Kaeya lightly pushed Childe away from him before downing the rest of the beer can in his hand.
"Don't mind him," Diluc spoke, staring into Childe's eyes. "He never thinks straight, whether drunk or sober."
"Yeah, I kinda got the message." The ginger chuckled, watching as Kaeya nearly tripped over his own feet while walking towards the case of beer supposedly for the party tonight.
"I'm glad that you and _____ are still getting along. It's refreshing to see normal people once in a while."
"Well, when you put it that way." Childe could only laugh.
"Where's the tall brunette at? Isn't he always with you?"
"Ah, you mean Zhongli? I don't know, actually. He has a lecture this morning and I wanted to meet him for a light meal before lunch, but he isn't answering my texts."
"I see."
As if on cue, Childe's phone emitted a soft ding!
He typed in his password and the screen faded into a photo of you. You were wearing one of his hoodies (it was way too big on you) and he could've fainted because of how absolutely adorable you looked.
He received a few Instagram DMs from Ellin. Ellin was a member of their posse. Childe would rather refer to them as "fraternity friends", but she insisted otherwise.
[ You're seriously praising _____ for being a good partner? Poor you, dear. ]
Received 9:41 AM.
He frowned.
[ What are you talking about? Mind your business. ]
Sent 9:42 AM.
[ Oh? It's not my business, sure. But you might wanna see this. ]
Received 9:44 AM.
[ 3 Images Attached ]
Received 9:44 AM.
Childe's eyes widened. Ellin sent three photos.
The first one was a photo of you and Zhongli standing awfully close to each other in front of the university's main building.
The second one was of you and Zhongli sitting beside each other in the shuttle.
The last one was... you and Zhongli entering your dormitory building.
"What the..."
He checked his messages to see if either you or Zhongli texted him about the ordeal. However, he was only greeted by messages wishing him a happy birthday from some of his family and friends back in their hometown. No messages from Zhongli, and no new ones from you.
"What the hell?"
He quickly typed out a message for his bestfriend. He didn't jump to conclusions; He trusted both of you, but what was this feeling in his gut? It felt icky, gross, and disgusting.
[ Where are you rn? Answer me. ]
Sent 9:46 AM.
His foot tapped against the floor at a rapid pace. Diluc wanted to question him, but the worried look on the ginger's face made him bite his tongue.
Childe wasn't the type of person to jump to conclusions, nor was he the type of person to get upset immediately over trivial things. But upon receiving an irksome reply from the amber-eyed bestfriend he knew and love, his blood began to boil.
[ None of your business. ]
Received 10:05 AM.

Starlight [Dabi x Single Mom!Reader]
summary: when you and your children are saved by a man covered in burns, you offer to repaire his staples and clean him up, an offer that gets you much more than you’d bargained for word count: 2.6k warnings: a tiny bit of violence pairing: dabi x fem!reader
waking up at five am every morning to prepare yourself for the day certainly was not how you saw your life turning out four years ago. but, the moment where you opened the door to your twin son’s room washed away all over your regrets and filled the space with nothing but love. you thanked whatever was above you each day that they had ended up looking like you, rather than their father. you didn’t know what you would have done if you had to look at his face for the rest of your life
kindly stroking hibiki’s cheek, you watched as your son squirm awake, blinking away the sleep in his eyes. you smiled softly and whispered your morning greeting to him, watching as he beamed at the sight of his mother. hibiki kicked his small legs at you, a signal for your attention. with a huff, you lifted your son from his bed and sat him on your hip, slightly ticking his sides to see him giggle
when you felt a small tug on your pant-leg, you glanced downward to see hitomu giving you a pout, clearly jealous of the attention his brother was getting. you set your hand on his head, ruffling his soft y/h/c locks before setting down hibiki to present them their outfits for the day. the two had rambled on and on last night about how excited they were to attend their first day of preschool
though you would never tell them, you were just as happy to get a day to yourself while your sons were taken care of. you had so many errands to run, bills to pay and groceries to buy. living as a single mother in the city was tough, both financially and mentally, but it was worth it. you didn’t want to rely on the boy’s father for anything
while you were caught up in your thoughts, hitomu took your hand in his much smaller one, showing you a bright smile, though it was missing a few teeth. he proudly held up his all might lunchbox and you came to the realization he was trying to imitate his idol. hibiki took your other hand, beginning to mutter about how the three of you should get going before they miss breakfast
after locking up the apartment, you kept a steady grip on their hands, not wanting them to get lost in all the hustle and bustle of the city. the boys seemed to glare at everyone who past you, taking their roles as the ‘men of the house’ very seriously. you, on the other hand, were focused on reviewing the route to their preschool, praying that you didn’t get lost along the way
suddenly, you felt a sharp tug on your elbow, causing you to gasp, preparing to let out a scream before a rough hand clamped over your mouth. hitomi and hibiki gripped tightly to you, calling out to you as the three of you were dragged into a nearby alleyway. you were harshly thrown onto the concrete, wincing when you felt your knees scrape against it, surely drawing blood
hibiki clung to your left side, burying his face in your stomach with a sob, “mommy! are you h-hurt?”
you reached upward and set your hands on his cheeks, “hitomi, take your brother and get out of here right now! please!”
darting your eyes around, you caught sight of hitomi but your stomach dropped down to the pits of hell when you saw what he was doing. hitomi had his hands balled up into fists, holding his all might lunchbox in front of him
“l-leave my m-momma alone!”
“hibiki, stop!”, you screamed, terrified of what could happen next
the man laughed, a cruel, wicked sound, before snatching the prized possession out of your son’s hands and throwing it against the brick wall, smirking when he heard it split open. you pulled yourself off the ground, doing the best you could to ignore the throbbing pain in your skull. swiftly, you wrapped your arms around hitomi’s torso, pulling him behind you
with a tightening of your fist, you laid a punch on the attacker’s face, wanting to scream from how bad it hurt. he wiped the blood off of his nose and gripped you by the collar, slamming his forehead onto yours, causing your vision to become nearly entirely black. you could hear your sons crying but couldn’t speak a word
then, a bright flash of blue brought back your vision, feeling yourself slip from the man’s hold and back to the ground. you didn’t even look back at the attacker, despite his screams of pain and agony. hitomi and hibiki were holding one another, tears running down their horrified faces. quickly, you held the back of their heads and tucked their faces into your chest, hoping to hide whatever gruesome thing was happening behind you
when everything went quiet, you shyly lifted your head, flinching when bright blue eyes stared right back at you. the man in front of you was lanky and tall, scars littering his chest and face, along with staples holding his normal skin together. he looked like he was in so much pain and it made your heart ache
“you good?”, he asked, voice gruff and rougher than any sandpaper
“n-no, but,”, you looked up at him with wide eyes, “thank you. thank you so much.”
he didn’t move or acknowledge your thanks, only walked behind you to pick up the lunchbox that now had a huge crack in it, right over the face of your son’s hero. hitomi pulled away from you reluctantly when he felt a tap on his head. his eyes watered at the sight of his lunchbox but he took it back anyways, clutching it to himself
you slowly stood up, but even that was too much for your head. your knees buckled as soon as you were on your feet and you would have fallen back down again had it not been for the hand that steadied your lower back. everything was turning hazy again and you were sure you head a concussion. the last thing you saw was the concerned eyes of your sons and their mouths opening, surely calling out your name
---
you slowly fluttered your eyes open, feeling yourself relax into the softness of a familiar bed. then, you remembered the events before you fell asleep. lifting yourself forward suddenly, you felt the pain in your head come back but you pushed it away, determined to know how you got home and where your children were
the first place you checked was the living room, heart beating even faster when you didn’t see them, only the mess that had been left from their toy playing session the other day. where were your sons? how did you get home? and where-
a relieved sigh left your lips when you opened the door your sons’ room, only to see them snoring softly in their racecar beds. you had never been happier than that moment. when a cough came from the doorway, you jumped, holding out your hands in defense while the figure chuckled
“geez, chill out jumpy. it’s all good.”
the man from before stared at you with humor in his eyes. a part of you said to hit him until he left your home, to chase him out but, another part was begging you to make him stay. you just had to know who had saved you from something so terrible
taking one last look at your sleeping sons, you joined him in the hallway, keeping the door open out of paranoia. he kept his eyes on you, making you more nervous by the second
“um, thank you for back there. if you hadn’t come-”
“you already thanked me. hit your head that hard, jumpy?”, he teased and you felt your fists clench
“well, im sorry if im a bit uneasy after being attacked in an alleyway!”, you threw up your hands and stormed into your room, hearing him cackle behind you but follow you nonetheless
taking a seat on the edge of your bed, you felt tears begin to pool in your eyes. hurriedly wiping them away with your hand, you could feel the bed dip beside you, but neither of you said anything. you held your face in your hands, softly crying your heart out
dabi winced at the sound, the noise of a mother sobbing bringing back memories he would much rather have forgotten. when he had seen you and your kids get pulled into the alleyway, he had contemplated doing nothing to help, just continuing back to the bar. but, the face that had comforted him throughout the nightmare that was childhood would not leave his mind until he saved you
you peeked out from between your fingers to see a tissue being dangled in front of your face. eyes widening, you reached out to accept it, dabbing at your eyes with the soft tissue
“im a failure of a mother.”, you whispered and dabi quickly placed his hand on your shoulder, turning you to face him
“from what i saw, you punched the dude in the face and managed to protect your kids even after gettin’ the life headbutted outta ya. you’re not a bad mom.”
when he began to stand up, you latched onto the sleeve of his long jacket, head hanging down, “why are you doing this? i don’t even know you.”
and at that moment, all he saw was his mother
“you remind me of someone i know.”
raising your head, you tossed the tissue into your garbage can and looked up at him with a pout. he nearly laughed at how much you looked like a little kid but your splotchy eyes made his heartache
“let me repay you.”, dabi raised his eyebrows with a teasing smirk and you blushed, “not like that! i meant that i could fix your staples, they look like they hurt.”
after thinking for a minute, he nodded, “lead the way, jumpy.”
---
dabi was sat on the edge of your bathtub, watching your every move. when you bent down to take the supplies out of the cabinet, his eyes trailed a bit lower but he shook his head with a smirk. you would so not be into that, he thought
“it’s probably gonna hurt but don’t worry, i took a few nursing courses in college so i don’t think i’ll kill you.”, you joked and it made him feel a bit better that you had calmed down
“that’s good to know, jumpy.”
you stood up and set a hand on your hip, looking down at the man with a look typically reserved for your children, “would you stop calling me that?”
kneeling down in front of the tub, you began to wet a cotton ball with some peroxide while dabi shook his head, “no can do. i don’t know what your name is.”
“well, i don't know yours either.”
“and you’re not gonna- jesus!”, dabi jumped at the sudden sting on his cheek and you quickly apologized, rambling about how it was supposed to hurt less if it was a surprise
the two of you entered a comfortable silence, you gently removing and replacing his staples after disinfecting his raw skin. dabi began to look around your bedroom, at least what he could see from the doorway. no photos of anyone but your kids and someone he assumed was your mom. the right side of the bed looked like it hadn’t been used
“your husband probably won’t be happy to find me here, ya know?”, he was pressing slightly, watching to see any reaction you made but your face stayed neutral as you tossed another cotton ball into the trash
“i don’t have a husband, just me and my sons.”, your eyes held sadness, a different one from earlier, this one was dull and seemed very old
“oh. did he-”
“yes.”, your hold on his skin turned harsher and dabi caught your wrist, meeting your eyes before pushing your hand back
“sorry.”, you muttered, going back to your work while dabi watched you intently
the father of your kids must have been someone pretty stupid to leave the three of you. your sons seemed to love you a ton, considering how their walk home consisted of one of them glaring at him while holding your hand and the other quietly telling him where to go
he remembered looking down at your face while you slept in his arms. you were one of the most beautiful women he had ever laid his eyes on, so it was only natural to think you had someone waiting for you at home. but, the only boys who had your heart where the four-year-olds who wouldn’t leave your side until they fell asleep
he had been so deep in thought that he hadn’t even noticed you had finished up. you were right. dabi felt much better. he could finally move his arms and face without feeling like he was about to rip his skin off. maybe he would come back here again if it ever got too bad
“thanks, jumpy.”, dabi said, watching as you glanced down at the tile floor
“y/n. i’m y/n.”, he hadn’t expected you to tell him your name, figuring your paranoia would still have the better of you
dabi fixed his coat and let you walk him to the front door, taking a glance at you from the side. you were gorgeous but, there was nothing he could do about it. he was one of the most wanted villains in japan. it was a miracle you hadn’t noticed who he was yet
the two of you stood in the entryway, you avoiding his gaze and him refusing to look anywhere else. he would probably never see you again with how his life was going but there was a pull in him, a part of himself he had locked away a long time ago, that wanted him to stay here, to fall in love with you
you felt a rough hand place itself on your cheek and you gasped, locking eyes with the man who had saved your life. dabi leaned in and couldn’t help but notice that you did too, but, all you received was a peck on the forehead
“you don’t have to leave, you know?”, you said and he could see the worry in your eyes, but it wasn’t fear for yourself
“sorry beautiful, but i have some prior engagements to take care of. but, you ain’t gotta worry, nothing like that’s gonna happen to you again.”, furrowing your eyebrows as the man opened your door, you reached out to grab him, but he was faster than you
“see you tomorrow morning, y/n.”
the end.

The healthy masculinity of Seongyeom in Run On
“Masculinity” itself is a difficult concept, but in this post I intend on using the word less in association to a person’s gender, and more as a characteristic that both women and men can embody. For example, I think Mijoo has masculine characteristics such as assertiveness, and Seongyeom has more feminine characteristics such as doing nurturing acts of service towards those he cares about. I believe a well rounded person has both masculine and feminine qualities, and one set of qualities should not be prized over the other (as masculine qualities are routinely over-valued in our society). (This is a complicated topic, so any discussion on gender/gender expression is appreciated and I am willing to learn!)
The typical toxic masculinity
Seongyeom’s healthy masculinity stands out starkly in a Kdrama sea of toxic masculinity. I have made a list breaking down toxic masculinity tropes in Kdramas, but essentially Kdrama Male Leads (ML) draw their masculinity from dominance over others. This is usually in the form of being in a dominating position over the female lead (FL), such as being her boss, being above her in a high school social hierarchy, or she is under some contract to serve him. He also usually dominates society at large, being the son of an heir, a CEO, etc., some position where he benefits from the capitalist exploitation of others. The scenes that showcase the ML’s masculinity are when he asserts dominance over the FL through wrist grabs, backing her into a corner, etc., or when he flaunts his wealth (the typical scene in an upscale store, “we’ll buy everything from here to there”), and provides these Grand Romantic Gestures via his wealth (helicopter rides, renting out a whole restaurant just to talk to her, etc.). He knows what he wants, he goes after it, and he gets it, the “it” often being the objectified FL. As viewers we are supposed to swoon over the fantasy of being dominated by this rich, hot man.
Seongyeom’s healthy masculinity
Now enter Seongyeom. Seongyeom does not really seek to dominate anyone--instead his masculinity stems from his defense of those weaker, and his commitment to his values. He is strong because of his goodness, rather than the typical male lead being soft/good in spite of his masculinity.
The core plot point is his relationship to Woosik: although him beating up Woosik’s bullies is a display of more typical masculinity, his overall protection of Woosik was not in that act of violence, but in his persistence to be held accountable for that act of violence. In the toxic sports world where violence was not held accountable, Seongyeom’s protest was not to commit the act of violence, but to openly admit it and force others to hold the act of violence accountable. He repeatedly states that non-defensive violence is not ok no matter what, breaking with the traditional toxic masculinity that a guy fighting for the girl or some other “valiant” reason is therefore okay.
Seongyeom has a rare integrity, and his unshakeable commitment to this integrity is what impresses his masculinity upon the viewer. The hallmark moment of his protection of Woosik is again, not in beating up his bullies, but in boycotting the race, and coming forward about the violence and demanding to be held accountable. This action was peaceful, but incredibly courageous. He is protective (a typically masculine trait) of Woosik, but not through violence or abuse of power, but by having the courage and integrity to do the right thing.
When he protects/supports Mijoo, it is also not in a possessive way. I think a prime example is when Mijoo gets sick: it’s a classic Kdrama trope, girl gets sick from overworking, guy arrives to save her. Any other Kdrama would have him arrive just as she’s fainting and catch her. Using his wealth, he would get the VIP room of a hospital for her. But Run On is different. Mijoo is able to get to the hospital herself--she doesn’t need saving. However, he arrives to stay by her side supportively, and when the old ladies are annoying her, instead of using a combative method, he is his normal, gentle self, and charms them into being more quiet.
The drama’s handling of Seongyeom’s privilege
A cornerstone of toxic ML masculinity is his position of immense wealth and power. Interestingly, Seongyeom also comes from a background of wealth and power. However, rather than fetishizing it, as kdramas tend to do, Seongyeom is clearly separate from his family’s background. This is established from the fact that rather than simply being a CEO inheriting his family’s company, he has made a name for himself as a runner, having his own profession, with his own unique skills. The drama generally refrains from ostentatious displays of his wealth, and his actions for Mijoo are acts of service and time (bring her a glass to drink her soju out of, taking the driver job for her, moving close to her so she has to walk less, and overall being a kind, supportive little bean to her), rather than servicing his immense wealth to her .
More importantly, it is how the drama handles the emotional impacts of Seongyeom’s privilege. Usually wealthy, but lonely backgrounds are used as an opportunity to excuse the male lead’s disrespectful behavior, to explain away his shitty personality, and also as an opportunity for the cheerful and kind female lead to “heal” the male lead. I cannot stress how much this trope disgusts me, as this “broken man just needs the right, patient woman to fix him” narrative is the kind of mentality that keeps women in domestic violence relationships. It is so harmful, and also serves to put down other women (I need to prove I’m different from other women, I understand him, I can change him, I will succeed where other women who were too shallow to understand his scars have failed, etc.). Seongyeom is far from a jerk male lead, but he still has emotional difficulties from his upbringing, primarily that he is inexpressive. Jerk male leads are also inexpressive about their emotions, and usually heap verbal abuse upon the female lead, but it is just brushed off as a “quirk” that the girl must put up with because she knows, ultimately, through his Grand Romantic Gestures, that he loves her. In Run On, his inexpressiveness is instead treated as a real problem that he must work through. He journals his feelings to work through them, and undergoes difficult discussions with Mijoo about his tendency to put up walls. It is shown as part of his growth, rather than something Mijoo must just accept.
Mijoo is key to Seongyeom’s healthy masculinity, because so much of toxic masculinity is based off of the female lead’s passive, objectified state. The toxic trope of Power Imbalance cannot work because Mijoo is a financially independent, career-driven adult. The One-sided Pursuit trope also cannot work because Mijoo is always willing to put in her share of the effort in the formation of their relationship. She meets him halfway, and maintains open communication of their problems so that there is no space for weird toxic male jealousy/noble idiocy tropes, etc.
As I’m writing this I realize maybe why I like Seongyeom so much is not just because of his healthy masculinity, i.e. healthy ways of being protective, strong, etc., but also because of how in touch he is with femininity, and vice versa with Mijoo both being a blend of masculine and feminine qualities. I really love this drama so much, and I can’t wait for the episodes to come <3

Happy New Year, everybody! I know that Literally no one cares or will read this, but I have to rate and talk about what I’ve read this year and this is my page, so deal with it.
2020 may have been a dumpster fire of a year, but I did read so me pretty good books. I didn’t get to read as many books as I wanted (like always), but that’s life. If you couldn’t tell, I do have a preference for romance novels, and these selections are very... 🌈 and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Here we go:
- Lies we Tell Ourselves by Robin Talley (4/10)
- I think I could write a dissertation about why I have a problem with this book, but I think I can just stop with “a white lady writing an interracial queer romance in the 1960s where the lead white character is literally a racist” should about cover it. Absolutely disappointed.
- Red, White, and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston (10/10)
- Oh my god does Casey McQuiston know how to write a book. Classic enemies to lovers, my favorite trope. This is my comfort novel that I use as a form of escapism, and probably the reason I didn’t read many new books, as I reread it about five times. It’s my comfort novel, and I come back to it every time I need to feel happy. I’ve made three of my friends read this book, and I recommend it to everyone
- These Witches Don’t Burn by Isabel Sterling (8/10)
- It’s sapphic, it has witches, and it’s adorable; what more could you possibly want? The ending left me wanting more. I was finally able to buy the sequel and I can’t wait to get into it.
- Boy Meets Boy by David Levithan (7/10)
- I think this book is sort of a classic when it comes to gay YA. This was a pretty good book, but it took me awhile to get into it.
- Her Royal Highness by Rachel Hawkins (9/10)
- What did I say about enemies to lovers? HRH was regarded as sapphic Red, White, and Royal Blue, which I think is all you need to know to be interested. This book and short, sweet, and to the point. It’s an easy read (I read it twice, both times in one day). I think there could’ve been some more character building, but it’s so adorable I literally do not care. When I say I want more cute gay romcoms, they should use HRH as the blueprint.
- It’s Not Like It’s a Secret by Misa Sugiura (7/10)
- A cute, interracial sapphic love story where no white people are involved (the main character is Japanese American and her love interest is Mexican American). This coming of age story deals with acceptance, cultural differences, racism, and coming out. I think some of the points it was trying to delve into were too much on the nose at some times, but I really enjoyed this book.
- The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue and The Lady’s Guide to Petticoats and Piracy by Mackenzi Lee (9/10)
- A fun romp set some time in the 1700s with a chaotic bi as the main lead? Count me in! I read this whole series this year, including the novella (the gentleman’s guide to getting lucky), and I loved every second of it. It’s an adventure series with some romance sprinkled in (a hella slow burn, but definitely worth it). The whole series has gay, bi, lesbian, and ace aro representation, and I was in love the entire time.
- You Should See Me in a Crown by Leah Johnson (8/10)
- The black sapphic book I needed. Liz Lighty decides she wants to leave her hometown and go to college, but after losing the financial aid she was counting on, she remembers the scholarship that prom queen gets every year, and decides to run. Sprinkle in a cute love story, and I’m hooked.
- The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller (10/10)
- I... cannot put into words how this book made me feel. When I finished TSOA, I cried all night trying to recover. Beautifully written, and I still can’t get over Achilles and Patroclus. One of my favorite books this year.
- Sorry Not Sorry by Naya Rivera
- After Naya’s tragic passing in July, I struggled to find her autobiography anywhere. However, I was finally able to get my hands on it, and am so glad that I did. Naya Rivera was just as genuinely funny and carefree as her previous costars have said, and I wish the world could’ve gotten more of her.
Not pictured:
- Of Fire and Stars by Audrey Coulthurst (9/10)
- Sapphic love story about a princess who has been betrothed to a prince from a nearby country her whole life who instead falls in love with his sister. The main character, Denna, also possesses magical powers, which is forbidden in their land. One of my favorite things about this book is that it’s set in medieval times, but no one cares about queer relationships. The only problem with Denna falling in love with the princess is that she’s betrothed to her brother and nothing else. I recently bought the sequel to this book as well, and I’m excited to read it
- The After Series (books 1-2) by Anna Todd (-400/10)
- I was curious about this series because of how terrible the movies are, and needed to read them myself. I apologize to myself every day that I every even wasted my time on these two books. If I ever see Anna Todd, it’s on sight immediately. Not only is the writing terrible, but the romanticization of abusive relationships is absolutely unacceptable. I think I could take less issue with these books if the author wrote them as a “what to look for in men you should never date” rule book, but it isn’t. I could actually write an essay on why these books are more harmful than entertaining and how I genuinely think this series should have never been published. Also, Harry Styles did not deserve this.
I also discovered WEBTOON this year, and here are some of my favorites that I have read:
- Always Human by creator walkingnorth, a finished WLW story which was absolutely beautiful to look at and delightful to read.
- Lore Olympus by creator Rachel Smythe. I don’t think you can find too many people who haven’t heard of this story, but it’s a retelling of the Hades and Persephone mythology, and I adore it.
- Novae by creators KaixJu. A historical, queer and paranormal romance about a necromancer who falls for an astronomer.
- My Lady Artemisia by creator rimarza. This WEBTOON is a little bit newer with fewer episodes, about a knight tasked with guarding the princess, which starts to prove difficult once she starts to gain feelings for the princess, and an impending threat might cause her to past to come to the surface.
Of course, I’ve also spent a lot of my time on A03. I know I’ve read more, but here are the ones I bookmarked and have come back to this year:
- kiss me (if you mean it) by nerdybutpunk
- Carry On fanfic, short but sweet, absolute fluff
- Camp Llwynywermod by bleedingballroomfloor
- Red, White, and Royal Blue AUwhere Henry and Alex are camp counselors. It’s so good and I find myself waiting every wed and sat for the updates.
I read more this year than I have in a long time, and I enjoyed it most of the time. My goal for 2021 is to read at least two books a month and to expand my horizons to something that isn’t YA and isn’t romance. Also to find Anna Todd and tell her off. Hopefully we can accomplish some of that.

Postscript. Part 2 of 3.
Loki x Sylvie "Our divorce never went through" Modern AU. Angst, Rated T.
Masterlist of my fics here.
---
He meets her again next week, same place, same time. This time, he doesn't buy coffee, just donuts.
She sits down with a fond smile. "You've grown your hair out", she comments, remembering the short brown mop that is now long and black.
His smile is tight, and he doesn't speak. He digs into his briefcase and wordlessly pulls out the papers and a pen.
It hurts how he wouldn't even talk to her, but she knows it's what she deserves.
She picks up the pen, ready to sign and get it over with. The familiar proximity to him, combined with the unfamiliar coldness, makes her feel things she can't quite describe. She feels like she might break in his presence, and she needs to get out fast.
"Don't you want to at least read that first?" He asks, amused.
She shakes her head, and continues signing.
"How do you know I'm not making you sign your possessions away to me?"
"Enough!" She finally snaps. She closes her eyes, willing the tears back. "I was twenty-one, I was scared, and I was foolish. I made a huge mistake. Do you have to keep reminding me of that constantly?"
A solitary tear slips off her left eye, and Loki melts. He is defenseless against her tears, his carefully acquired armour insteantly falling away. He has never been able to see her cry and sit idly by. "I'm sorry." He says at once. He lets out a small, nervous laugh. "I guess I'm still a little bitter. I don't know why. It was so long ago."
She takes in deep breaths, trying to calm herself.
"Do you want something to drink?" He asks hurriedly.
She shakes her head. "That's not a good idea."
He pauses. It's a decision he has to make within the next ten seconds, and he does. He picks up the papers, and puts them back inside his briefcase. Sylvie stares at him, perplexed, as he orders two coffees for them.
He smiles softly. For the first time, she notices the wrinkles that are starting to form around his eyes. Time, it has been kind at least to his physical appearance. "How have you been?"
"I'm okay." She says quietly. "I've been... busy, I guess."
"Travelled the world?" He asks. That was one thing she wanted to do, one reason she wanted out. He told her he'd go with her. "You go, I go", he said. But she didn't believe him.
"Yes." She says sadly. "The world gets old quickly though."
"Really?" He asks, a little surprised.
She nods. "Everywhere I went, I just-" she hesitates. She really doesn't want to confess, it hurts her pride. But this might be the last time she's seeing him, and if she doesn't say it now, she will never get another chance. "I travelled from city to city, country to country, and the only place I wanted to be was back at our old apartment in The South Bank."
He's stunned by her unexpected confession. "I moved." He informs her. "I couldn't stand to be there after you left."
She nods again, forcing a smile on her face. "Did you ever go back?"
"I couldn't." He tells her honestly. "I dropped out of college, as you know, moved in with my brother, and started a business. I've been working on it since."
"What kind of business?" She asks curiosly.
He ignores his lawyer's voice in his head warning him not to disclose anything about his financial situation. "A bar."
She laughs. "You always did love your alcohol."
He chuckles, a hundred memories flashing back.
---
The very first night he saw her was at a bar. She was with her friends, and he was with his, and he asked for her number. He kept texting her right from the moment, until his friends teased him mercilessly and he had to pause for a while. They talked till 4 am that night, till his cell phone died.
Their first kiss was also at a bar. They were out with their friends, drunk out of their minds, and though they had both agreed to take it slow, she cornered him near the basins and pleaded. "I can't." And he understood. He felt it too, the need to crash his lips against hers.
"You're mine." He had told her one everning, while she rested her feet on his lap and leaned back against her chair. She had nodded, flushed. Right there in the open rooftop bar, she knew, she would never be the same again.
"I need you." And off to his dorm it was.
---
"What about you?" He asks.
"I am a stunt coordinator now." She says proudly.
It's his turn to laugh now. "You always did love your daggers."
There's a silence that's comfortable, and Loki takes a moment to steal a glance at her. She's still just as beautiful as he remembers, and it hurts.
"How are your parents?" He asks.
"Fine." She says with a smile. "How are yours?"
"Same." He doesn't elaborate. He always had a strained relationship with his father, and that hasn't changed.
Sylvie steadies herself before she asks the next question. "And is there a future Mrs Loki in the picture?"
He shakes his head. "No."
"Really?" She asks, surprised. "I'd imagine there would be a line of men and women."
"Yes. There have been a few." He confesses, and she feels her heart sink, until he speaks again. "But nothing real."
She nods, knowing exactly what he means. "It's been the same for me." She tells him honestly.
The waitress calls his name, and he gets up to grab their coffees. Sylvie watches him leave, his silhouette the sole object of her focus as everything else fades away, and suddenly she realises exactly what has been missing from her life.
Loki hands her the coffee. Sylvie takes a sip, burning her tongue a little.
They used to do this every single morning in the campus. Meet for coffee, talk about everything and anything in the world. It was their thing. She hasn't been able to have a cup without thinking of him ever since.
"Thor's married now." He says, rekindling the conversation.
"Sif?"
He shakes his head. "Jane. He met her a few years ago."
Sylvie stares into the brown of her coffee, stirring it and watching it swirl, like the thoughts in her head. She never thought Thor would marry someone other than Sif, but she guesses people are replaceable.
She is irreplaceable.
One day soon, Loki would marry someone that isn't her. The thought hurts more than it should ten years later.
It hurts to look at him and feel the same surge of feelings that are supposed to have gone away. After all, it was her decision to end things, and she has no right to feel this way now.
She wonders if he-
"Do you remember Mobius?" He asks abruptly, before she has a chance to truly indulge in the thoughts in her head.
How can she forget? He was a senior, and one of Loki's best friend.
"You'll never guess what he does for a living." Loki says, grinning.
They used to play the guessing game, and she'd always lose, but she wants to try nevertheless. "FBI Agent?"
"No." He says, his grin widening.
"Boy band manager?" She tries again. Finally, her eyebrows rise in curiosity, signalling her defeat.
He looks excited as he says the words. "Jetsky salesman."
"No way!" She laughs. "Those things still exist?"
"According to him, they do." He joins her laughter. "According to him, they sell."
"I don't believe him." She says bluntly.
"Neither do I." He agrees.
She glances at him, then at the campus grounds outside the window. There are more trees now, and more students, and more shops with "Free WiFi" signs. "This place has changed quite a lot."
"Ten years." He whispers. "Everything changes. You've changed."
She knows she has. But she's curious to see the changes in the eyes of someone who once knew her best. "Me? How?"
He shrugs. "You're... less wild now."
She snorts. "I assure you, I'm not."
"Less headstrong then." He corrects. "Less impulsive."
She doesn't respond, doesn't tell him he's right. Instead, she says, "You've changed too. Less... mischievous."
She's right. When she left, she took that part of him with her. For the next few months, he was severely depressed, barely coping. Mischief was the last thing on his mind.
He takes the final sip from his cup, and hers is empty too. He picks them up and throws them in the nearby bin, and the dreaded moment arrives again. He pulls the papers out once more, and she steadies herself.
"Do you ever wonder..." She stares into the distance, unable to look him in the eyes. "What would have happened if we had met a few years later? When we were older and wiser?"
"All the time", he admits. He has pictured a hundred different scenarios in his head over the years, where they stumble upon each other, and their romance awakens one more time. He also pictures scenarios in which they meet differently, and at nights, while he locks up his bar, sometimes he can picture her walking in for one last drink.
"I'm sorry." She tells him sincerely. "I shouldn't have given up on us so quickly."
"We wouldn't have made it if we kept going." He counters. "It would be toxic. We would have resented each other more."
"Do you resent me any less, though?" Her voice is timid, young.
"I don't resent you, Sylvie." He clarifies. "I just... I just don't think I can relive that hurt again. It was the worst phase of my life."
She nods, and picks up the pen, ready to sign. He places a hand over hers, stopping her, and she knows he feels the familiar jolt of electricity too, but neither of them dare to comment on it. "I'm sorry too." He tells her sincerely. "We got married too young. I shouldn't have proposed so soon."
She gives him a tiny smile, and continues signing away. He looks at the menu on the wall, so that he isn't staring at her. He reads the name of each item but comprehends nothing at all, his mind focused on one thing and only one thing.
It takes less than ten minutes for her to sign all the papers and for him to put it away in his briefcase. They both get up, knowing it's time to go their separate ways again.
"Take care of yourself", she says, teary-eyed.
And he can't help it. He can't resist the temptation to hold her in his arms one last time. He hugs her, tentatively at first, then tighter when she reciprocates. It lasts longer than what is appropriate for two people who are now strangers. When they part, tears are falling down her cheeks and clouding up his eyes.
"Take care of yourself, too." He tells her, his voice hoarse with emotions he's struggling to hold back. He holds out the door for her this time, and walks her to her car, and for the second time in his life, watches her drive away from him forever.
(To be continued. Don't kill me.)

What the Oxford English Dictionary Doesn't Tell You About replica bags designer
The reproduction bag fad is very little new. I try to remember After i was a younger teenager eager to search her finest, I assumed possessing a replica bag was the last word fashion assertion. I bought my really initial designer duplicate bag from a local retailer. It was a traditional Gucci tote that I thought was so chic and sophisticated. I remember clutching tightly into the handles and strutting down the street. I felt like the belle on the ball!
I've considering the fact that realized the notion of owning a reproduction bag is a bit controversial. All things considered, the initial designer usually puts their blood, sweat and tears into each individual layout, and knocks-off companies just take the credit as their unique. While I bought my replica bag many years back, I nevertheless replicate fondly on every one of the amazing moments I had with that bag.
Simultaneously, I know how important it truly is to protect the effort and dedication of designers, so for that purpose I do not buy duplicate baggage any more. Even now, It is really tricky to disregard the price tag of the primary style and design, and many times its just further than our financial achieve.
Due to this, I feel replica bags have their position in The style sector. It's real that there are negatives to possessing a replica like inadequate high quality and material, however, if worn respectfully they are often add-ons that assist us build special and fantastic appears to be like. In addition, I believe It is really probable to locate a middle floor - a single could however take pleasure in the initial models devoid of acquiring knock-offs.
Although I do not personally individual replica luggage any more, I am aware Many of us who do, and to use an idiom, ‘all of it depends upon the person’. For a few, the only real difference between an reliable and replica bag is the cost tag. They don't care about recognition or quality, They simply want to save a couple of bucks what ever way they are able to.
I can absolutely empathize with this particular standpoint. All things considered, I have been there myself, planning to truly feel gorgeous and trendy in my replica Gucci bag. But I also comprehend the crucial part of the designer and the value of shielding their rights as well as their effort.
I keep in mind The very first time I noticed a pretend bag. I was shopping in my neighborhood mall and stumbled throughout this beautiful designer handbag. I was so mesmerised by its natural beauty which i promptly assumed it was genuine. Tiny did I understand that it was truly a counterfeit! I can still remember the intensity of your disappointment when I found the truth.
To start with, I believed to myself, how can anyone get away with making copies of genuine designer bags? Then I realised which the demand from customers for designer products has developed exponentially, and counterfeiters are Benefiting from this. Phony luggage are just about everywhere now, and it's definitely sad to think about.
I am certain Many people have bought a bogus designer bag without realising it. After all, the counterfeiters have their Qualified touch. It's challenging to tell the difference between a true as well as a pretend bag. Even knowledgeable consumers is usually fooled.
Nonetheless, There are several notify-tale indications like the value tag, and the standard of the leather-based applied, that can help determine a bogus. In case you are afraid of staying duped, do your exploration and Make certain that the bag you might be buying is the true offer.
I feel guilty being aware of that there is an marketplace that normally takes benefit of individuals. But the reality is, lots of consumers have their own good reasons for getting phony luggage. Some folks won't be able to pay for originals, while others are searhing for an excellent offer.
Adequate folks have been ripped off and duped by buying phony baggage. It's best to avoid counterfeits completely. Legitimate, They could glimpse seemingly genuine and experience high-class, but which is only about to final for so long. Reduced-top quality resources and lousy craftsmanship suggest your phony bag will never stand the examination of time.
What is actually worse is, purchasing a faux bag does not only advantage the seller but supports a much larger, legal underworld. Apart from that, providing phony products can end you up in jail if you get caught, so It is really always finest to remain clear of fakes.
So, when you are at any time pondering purchasing a designer bag, I'd urge you to order only from authorised dealers. That way, you could ensure It is really authentic and Safe and sound. In addition, with all the money you help save from buying fakes, you'll have adequate to order an excellent initial. So It really is always ideal being cautious in creating purchases.
I suppose I’m fake bags online trapped in the middle, acquiring found each side of the coin. I may not carry a designer tote anymore, but I'm able to recognize the value, craft and high-quality that went into it. And when I do see an individual carrying a gorgeous original piece, I'm able to’t enable but admire the effort and creativeness at the rear of it.
So, On the subject of replica baggage, what really defines them? Is it the craftsmanship, the originality, or the bit of intellect that goes as well as it? Or could it be only about the cost tag?
In the end, I feel replica luggage needs to be regarded as vogue statements that needs to be highly regarded and appreciated, much like the initial items. After all, they assist us spend less devoid of compromising our type in any way, and for that they need to be considered a valuable addition to any one’s assortment of baggage.
Getting a deeper think about the matter of duplicate baggage, there’s way more to them than just knock-offs of originals. Some knock-off brand names have become very creative, working difficult to create handbags with extraordinary craftsmanship and cocktails of components that would not Ordinarily be found on a conventional designer piece. They attract inspiration from the original and think of styles that are extremely trendy - showcasing their own exclusive magnificence instead of just copying a style from in other places.
Increasingly more, the fashion industry is observing a growth of replicated patterns attaining traction, as An increasing number of shoppers glimpse to include a novel contact to their wardrobe without breaking the bank. Of course, the knock-off market carries its share of small high quality luggage, but even duplicate bags arrive in various grades now.
It is true that designer originals will constantly keep on being originals, but the marketplace for knock-offs has grown appreciably over time, providing The patron bit of head though however having the ability to Specific their own individual model at a portion of the fee. Personally, I do think there’s a certain attract the knock-off sector that could’t be denied. Everybody would like to shave a couple of hundred of the fee of purchasing a designer bag, so it’s safe to express that reproduction bags are going to be all over for really some time.
As well as, There are many of various thoughts around the make a difference. Lots of people may argue that buying knock-offs supports the unethical tactics of lower price shops, while others may well propose that it encourages creative imagination and helps to carry up the standard of manner parts. Some could possibly be totally indifferent to the make a difference, but No matter, it’s a thing really worth speaking about and mulling more than.
At the end of the day, Every person has their own personal viewpoint on duplicate luggage, and I’m no exception. About I’d want to stay clear of the knock-off marketplace, I’ll acknowledge that there are occasions when I come across myself waving for just a taxi with a replica bag by my side. Without a doubt it’s a private selection that every of us need to make for ourselves, And that i’m positive it’s a topic that may keep on to get the supply of numerous debates.

But Of course if you're not busy.. I'll wait patiently.. I just.. love read your analysis 💙 like i can feel your love and dedication for Gavin.. a lot of Gavin stan is very smart and loyal.. just like Gavin itself

There are so many great posts from various accounts and one can feel the love, passion and loyalty towards Gavin in all of them! 💫
An analysis on Spring Festival date is so overdue, so it is me who should apologize for not having written this before. I will more than gladly include your request scene, I hope you enjoy it ^_^
MC Testing Waters: Spring Festival Date
At the beginning of the game, MC is a young woman with lots of love in her heart, however without much experience in love. Fortunately this starts to change when she meets LIs as adults.
Spring Festival Date takes place after Firework Date and before the Romantic Date, although the timeline is quite messy, which I will come to by the end of this analysis.
If you look closely, you can see MC checking Gavin's romantic feelings towards her by using this "boyfriend game" and also uses the opportunity to get beyond his hardened exterior and touch his vulnerable side 💗
Spoilers start below this line
This date comes to, because MC lies to her aunt about having a boyfriend to avoid arranged blind dates and even promises to visit her on New Years with her boyfriend. Speculatively it seemed like a solid play, until...the time literally came.
Thinktanking about a way out of this with Kiki and Willow, they weight different options as to tell them she broke up with him, leave the city or call in sick but then the best wingman on earth Minor saves the way and suggests that she just takes a "fake boyfriend" with her, surely enough with Gavin in his mind.
MC goes through her contacts list to search for a suitable candidate, but her heart Whispers her the answer by skipping a beat as her fingertips scroll down to one name.
... Gavin
As such... MC has chosen her player for the game and Gavin's Heart Trial with MC's family commences...
---Press Start---
Creativity Test
Unluckily Gavin actually shows up for this highly important date late, with his phone off! From the storyline he arrives a couple of minutes late to MC’s aunt's place, thus starting the game one point behind. He was late because he was buying presents for the whole family! With the spot on gifts which are well received by the family because they're expensive, imported goods, limited products, cute and thoughtful he makes up for the lost points.
But it's just the first stage and he has 3 more stages to clear, the pressure is slowly rising.
This gray suit has a lovely story behind it, which you can find by the end of the story.
Decision Test
Gavin has passed the creativity test with flying colors, but in the second stage more challenging questions are on the menu. The eldest aunt wants to know Gavin's age, occupation, salary(?!) and possessions(?!). The last two questions are fairly over the line and is a no-no in my country. Asking people about their financial status as well as bragging about it is perceived as rude and insolent, that's why the way Gavin answers these questions skillfully without bragging about his wealth adds just another brick on my Gavin-temple.
Age: 24
Occupation: Police Officer
Salary: Covers the bills
Possessions: A flat in the city and a motorcycle.
In my Prank date analysis, I've mentioned about Gavin's ability to deal with impertinence and also here, he stays friendly, but only answers the questions necessary to get through with the situation. MCs family is checking whether he's wealthy enough to take care of MC (which is sad that in the 21st century that in some countries women need to be financially secured by men). So Gavin just gives them just the right enough of information to pass the test and pass he does.
There is another aspect to his way of answering though. You see, Gavin is an unmaterialistic man. He doesn't care about money or any other meta. He doesn't touch upon the fact that he's coming from a wealthy family, or that he inherits his grandparents house or that he can afford designer dresses, overseas travels or gems without giving a second thought. That shows just how humble Gavin is and I love him for it. What defines him is not his wealth, nor does he allow anyone define him on his financial status. It's his character, the values he stand for, the vision he embodies, the way he treats MC.. Ehm.. And.. His champion body and drop dead gorgeous looks (comes as an extra;))
But the game is far from over, because the family council is now going to challenge him on...
Affinity Test
This is where things get rosy as the family would like to know how they've met and whether they've been together since high school.
Look, Gavin is actually not playing a game, but living the moment. He is well aware of the fact that once he and MC become an official pair, he will be standing on the same spot a year later. He is serious...
So when they ask about their affection, he gives them his genuine answer and confesses his crush on her during high school and says that they've been going out since fall. This dazzles MC, as if she hasn't been dazzled enough lol.
The three glasses of drink he gulps surely has a role in this sincerity and taking three glasses of a drink as a punishment also becomes a tradition for MC and Gavin in the future.
And so, he proudly passes the Affinity Test with flying colors, effortlessly. Only one more stage and he's done it!
Execution Test
Every hero has his moment, when the fight takes a gloomier turn against his favor and the odds don't look good as before when he gets a strong blow, that is when the family hits him with the question "Don't you get alone well with your family?".
This is Gavin's weak spot, his cryptonite, his bleeding wound and MC's family just pressed on it. What makes this scene so heartbreaking is not just the topic itself and we know why it is a sensitive topic for Gavin but also that Gavin actually tries to signal them that this is not his favorite topic. He tells them he doesn't go home for holidays (friendly warning number 1), the aunties pushes by telling him to take some meal with him to which he replies "Thanks, but that's okay. I've been away for a long time" (friendly warning number 2) the family pushes further and as a one last resort he tells them that during college he rarely went there and spent holidays working afterwards (friendly warning number 3). Sadly the auntie than ignorantly ask whether his family doesn't worry about him and now because he's given three fair warning shots which, he downright gives them a brief and resolute answer:
- No.
That's usually the latest where people with common sense stop digging in further. Unfortunately then the auntie asks whether he doesn't get along well with his family to which Gavin no longer responds. This is the perfect way of dealing with such people and Gavin has a very intuitive talent for dealing different people from different mindsets. Give them three friendly and fair warnings, still pushing? Then give them a last chance by one final brief and to the point answer, they choose to ignore the signal? Stop interacting, you can only waste time beyond this point.
The only problem with this situation here, is that these people are not just somebody, Gavin wants to win these people over, so he cannot just ignore them. But also he cannot do it without a timeout, so he goes to grab some wine. (God it makes me so sorry everytime he has to face his family drama or is misjudged. I just wanna hug him bring him hot cocoa, give him a backrub and bring spicy food for him. Luckily he has MC ^_^)
But let's not talk only about about Gavin, because MC is struggling too. And we should recognize her stick up for him with the most cherishing words:
-Auntie, you got it wrong. He is a decent and pure man and has come to my aid many time and in quite dangerous circumstances.
When she comes back however cannot find Gavin, once she does, a heartwarming moment blooms between them.
This scene is very crucial in Gavin and MC's relationship because this is the first time MC sees Gavin tired and flustered. She feels sad for him but also happy for herself, for she feels as though she gets closer to him, thus seeing the real Gavin. By the way she show him her genuine care, Gavins heart melts and kisses the back of her hand as a gesture and so the first intimate moment involving them having a kiss ensues. Furthermore, they show each other their mutual care, which brings them one step closer and this gives Gavin the only courage he needs to tackle the situation.
When our hero gets the courage and the stamina he need from his girl, nothing can stop him now. Having gatherer his strength, Gavin returns to the dinner table:
“I am so happy to be here with you all today. In fact, I haven't felt this atmosphere of family in a long time. I have a very strict father and a brother I seldom see...I don’t even know when I turned into such a loner. Eating alone, sleeping alone, doing everything alone...until I met her. It was a beautiful autumn day. The gingko leaves were floating in the wind. I was also going through a pretty dark time. But she saved me before I hit bottom...It’s she who told me I could live a stronger life. And it’s also she who told me I could live a more tender life. I never felt lonely before, until I met her. I started to get used to star-gazing with her, having dinner with her, spending the New Year’s with her. In the future, I'll give it my all to stay with her, to take good care of her and love her. I wanna make up many times over for all the times I wasn't there”
MC’s heart stopped, aunties eyes teary, the elder Aunt want his actions to back up these words and thus Gavin has a pass from MC's family. Now that he's won the game, it's time to collect his prize.
After they leave MC's aunt's house, our lovebirds walk together in the night full of fireworks and Gavin tells Mc that Minor has mentored him on being the perfect son-in-law, hence he was late. He also asks her what she would do if he didn't show up, to which she says that her intuition says that he won't fail her and he murmurs quietly:
- I've waited a long time for today.
Of course he doesn't repeats himself when MC asks him about what he just said. But that's what kept him going all night long.
He has waited for six whole years to meet her again, to stand by here, take good care of her and love her. Tonight, he could do them all by being her "boyfriend", giving his word to her family and having their blessings. He could see that she also cares a lot for him, worries about him and wants to be there for him. He landed his lips for the first time on her delicate skin and could give her warmth.
He could finally confess his feelings for her and say the genuine things he will only say to her.
So yes, he has waited for a long time for this moment to come and when it came, he made sure to grab it tightly.
----—----—---
Timeline issues:
- The order of the dates in the game doesn't always reflect the real course of events. The grey suit that Gavin wears is actually bought after Romantic Date, which takes place after this date.
-Even though MC plans this whole game to avert blind dates, but she still gets set up later on a blind date by another aunt lol.
Thank you once again for your patience nonny and I hope that the analysis proves to be worthy of your wait 💗

Part 1 || Part 2 || Part 3
His eyes had seen the words written in neat lettering time and time again, yet he still read it again, trying to calm himself down.
They were trying to take you away.
Your parents were basically not as financially stable as you thought, basically having the audacity to ask you for money.
He was trying not to snap.
He'd known that your mother was a whore, already trying to safe your situation by digging up information he'd rather delete from his mind, forever scarred with the blasphemic image of her showing herself off to strangers on the web like a cheap commercial before a video starts, desperation being an understatement to describe her actions. Or maybe she did it only for the thrill.
She was a vile and distusting woman after all.
It was quite confusing to think of her as the woman who'd been responsible for bringing you into this world. He had a hard time believing it as he thought about your gentle and sweet nature, pure and caring while this sorry excuse of a human being did everything to play with karma it seemed.
Well, maybe he'd change his name for a day and play that role for her.
After all, she was an impatient woman he'd noticed from her constant reminding to buy obscene photos and short videos of her truly underwhelming body for an amount of money he'd rather spend on a coffee and a small breakfast to share with you, if he was being honest.
Why someone would genuinely pay for content like that was beyond him.
"I dont.. understand-" The female voice quivered on the other side of the line, making the corners of his lips turn upwards a bit as he listened to it, gaining some sort of satisfaction in knowing he'd gotten under her skin.
"Oh but I think you do." He said, voice smooth like velvet as he watched her pace back and forth in front of her admittedly bad webcam of her opened laptop. Living off of her husbands money couldn't be so luxurious he thought, if she couldn't even afford a decent laptop for the things she did whenever no one was looking.
It was truly making his saliva taste bitter merely thinking about it.
"If you think deleting your account will safe you, you're even more stupid than I initially thought." He mumbled into his phone as he saw her eyes widen, hands stalling as her gaze locked with the tiny device on top of her screen. She probably paled, yet the quality was too bad to tell for sure. "Everything has already been saved and will remain in my possession for as long as I have need of it." He stated, and clicked his tongue as she seemed to think of something to get herself out of it. "And remember; calling the police or informing any other authority will only result in you having to admit to your crimes as well. And I believe that isn't truly what you want." She snapped, hitting her table as she watched the camera, unknowing how Jungkook didn't even pay attention anymore, knowing he'd finally caught her head inside his noose.
"How much do you want?" She gritted out, and he chuckled, before clearing his throat.
"Your mindset truly disgusts me." He said, before sighing. "I don't want your fucking money."
He sat down properly again as he looked at his screen again.
"But I want you to do something for me.."
"It's nice to know that she finally found someone who can look after her." Your father stated, smiling at Jungkook who sat next to you at the table, taking your hand in his as he mirrored the gesture, spotting the way your mother tensed up in the corner of his vision, making him chuckle a bit.
"No, really, I am happy I've found her." He said, rubbing the back of his neck a bit shyly, making you giggle at his antics. Initially, you'd been a little worried when your parents wanted to meet Jungkook, not even knowing how they got to know about your relationship- your mother, however, had cleared things up for you, explaining that he'd updated them on your condition when you were in hospital. Maybe she did care, after all. "Right, angel?" He said, and you nodded, smiling with a bit of redness on your cheeks.
Absolutely divine.
"Alright, let me clean this up, You guys can head to bed, its already late." Your father said as he stood up, everyone else following after, when you'd suddenly grabbed Jungkooks plate and empty glass, smiling. Out of the corner of his he could see your mother empty her glass greedily, making him smile even wider.
Greed was a sin to be punished, after all.
"I'll do that, don't worry." You smiled, and he cooed at the sight. You were so absolutely sweet, he was always astounded at it, even though he should be getting used to it by now. He'd never get used to you, however. He nodded, giving you a kiss to your cheek as your father called for your mother, who'd been about to leave the table.
"Can you show Jungkook here where the guest room is? Help him set the bed, will you." He spoke, warmth as fake as her eyelashes as she smiled tensely, nodding towards Jungkook as he followed, comfortable with leaving you and your father alone for the moment. He wasn't a threat at all.
Your mother however, was a different story.
If she'd thought he wouldn't pick up on her dark gazes and blunt lies she truly was brainless. But then again, considering what she did with her freetime, he wouldn't be surprised to find her entirely empty.
Opening the door of the guest room, your mother closed the door behind him, slowly walking towards his back which was turned towards her, hands running over his shoulderblades as he shuddered.
But not with pleasure.
"I bet a young boy like you has stamina, heh?" She said, trying to form a seducing tone with her voice, yet failed as his eyes continued to stare forward, cold as ever as he stood unmoving, even when she came even closer. "Why would you get yourself someone like her anyways? There's nothing about her.." She chatted away, before stopping. "Wha-" She breathed out as she felt something poke her hip.
She was dead inside already, so why was she still up and walking like a zombie?
"You truly are disgusting." He murmured, turning around to hold his hand against her throat, backing her up until she could feel the wooden door against her back, chin pushing itself upwards as she looked at him with wide eyes. "To imagine that your rotten womb gave birth to an angel like her.." He said, eyes still trained on hers as he pushed a bit more, feeling and hearing her struggle, before moving away from her, snapping the knife he'd in his other hand shut to put it back inside his pocket as he opened the drawers, searching for fresh sheets. "I advise you to not ever touch me again if you want to keep your skin intact. It's nauseating enough that I have to share the same roof with someone like you tonight." He said, as he finally found what he was looking for, not caring as she swallowed hard, leaving the room and him alone, but not before running into you.
"Oh, sorry, I.. Uh, Jungkookie?" You asked, peeking into the room as his entire demeanor made a full 180 in front of your mothers eyes, body language suddenly speaking a different dialect it seemed, as he smiled, walking up to you, and leading you inside the room, closing the door with a last warning look thrown at her.
"Please angel.." He hummed against your skin, as you shyly touched his skin, making him sigh in bliss. He'd showered after his encounter with your witch of a mother, yet he couldn't help but not feel clean enough- he needed your touch, your salvation, to finally feel good again, to exorcise the demonic memories of her gut wrenching hands on his back, or her obscene words towards him. He needed your purity to cleanse him again, to give him back his wings you'd granted him.
"They won't hear." He promised, but in reality he wanted them to, craving deep down inside his being to drench the walls in your heavenly sounds, to clean this room of her presence with the help of the pleasure he was giving you. He felt you give into him with ease, smile warm and happy as his fingers entered you, knowing that he could not nestle himself inside you without sacrificing safety. And getting you pregnant was far from his mind.
No, the only thing ever being inside you would be him, and no one else.
You breathed out in sweet euphoria as he worked you with his hand, before dipping down, taking the covers with him as his tongue got in contact with your pearl, mouth feasting on you like a starving man enjoying his first meal, humming in pleasure as your hand found its way into his hair, gently tugging, never hurting.
He highly doubted you could ever hurt a fly.
And you'd never have to, with Jungkook at your side ready to soak his hands in the blood of anyone you wanted to have killed in cold murder, all of it with a smile on his face. He was ready to flood the streets in his own guts just to make more room for your praise and affection inside of him, he'd do it all for you in a time shorter than his heart could ever beat.
Your sighs turned into mewls.
He pushed your legs apart gently, hands reminiscing in the feel of your skin underneath his palms as he put even more effort into his actions, making you squirm in pleasure as your back arched like a feline stretching itself after a well deserved rest as you came undone with his touch, mouth finally parting from you, crawling upwards to your face as he kissed you, uncaring of your own residue on his lips.
You loved him.
He suddenly let out a short moan as he felt your delicate hands touch his bulge, eyes questioning as you silently asked for his permission.
Who was he to deny you anything?
As you pulled him out of his underwear he sighed at the view, your entire body showing off how lost you were with the task you'd taken on, making him smile as he began to help you, placing your hands around him in a proper way and showing you how to please him.
You learned quick.
Slowly growing more confident, you started to grip him with a bit more confidence, brushing a strand of hair behind your ear as you suddenly dipped down, making his eyes as wide as the moon before he huffed out a breath, head falling back as he could only stare at the white ceiling when your tongue touched his tip. Your soft lips took him in, inviting him inside the warmth of your mouth as you gently sucked before releasing him again, using your saliva and his own precum as lubrication for easier motions.
He was in heaven.
Of course he'd though about it, yet it seemed almost embarrassing how he fell apart so quickly under your touch, cum suddenly spurting out as he came violently, not prepared to last under such circumstances. He caught his breath, smiling apologetically as he stood up on slightly unsteady legs, reaching for some tissues inside his backpack near the bed before crawling back to you, cleaning up your face and neck with the outmost care as you suddenly spoke. "So, was that.. good?" You asked, and he scoffed, kissing you deeply before he rested his forehead against yours.
"Angel, you just sent me to heaven." He said, making you giggle as he made you lie down, cleaning between your thighs as to not make too much of a mess of the sheets.
His cum stained tissues however, he'd leave as a present for the witch to find.
If she was to wake again, that is.
"I'm so sorry, she isn't feeling well-" Your father apologized, yet Jungkook simply waved him off with a sympathizing smile. You nodded next to him, agreeing with Jungkook that this was simply a bad day for her. Everyone got sick once in a while. "I hope you have a safe trip home, and thank you for the wine Jungkook, you really have taste." He said, pale skin showing to him that he'd seemingly been affected as well. "We'll stay in touch." He told Jungkook, hugging him in a friendly manner as a form of goodbye.
He was collateral damage.
He actually liked the man a bit, noticing how calm and collected he was, even though he had to share his life with a woman such as your mother. He admired him really, for spending his time with her every day, for simply coexisting with her, without feeling the need to end his own life.
But maybe this man had exactly those thoughts he wondered, as he though about the wine bottle inside his car, evidence he'd taken with him to discard of in safe distance.
And as you both waved one last time, driving off, Jungkook only had one sentence running around inside his head as he thought of the witch that was your mother.
"This time, please just stay dead."
“I don’t have much space-“ he said, sitting on the engine hood of his car, patting his thighs as an invitation for you. “But it’s gonna be okay. I like having you close anyways.” He mused, voice low and drawled as if exhausted. You sat on his lap, legs hanging off on one side, head leaning on his chest, craving his warmth like a newborn kitten. He snaked his arms around your form, bathing in your presence in pure feelings of bliss as you sighed. He looked down on you, hand running over the top of your head. “What is it angel?” He said, worry a present undertone in his voice. You played with the buttons of his coat as he watched the sun set in front of you both, twilight slowly setting in.
“They.. won’t take me away from you, right?” You asked timidly, unknowing why this option scared you so much. Those were your parents; you shouldn’t be scared of them, should you? Yet Jungkook had told you to be wary of them, and you knew he was to be trusted- when has he ever been wrong? He only wanted your best, just like he said; he only wanted you safe and protected, and it made you feel oh so special. The pure option that you could be forced to live without him now seemed utterly terrifying, like a phobia you didn’t know you had.
“No, no angel.” He said, smile ever so present as if he’d just been gifted the thing he’d always wanted. You seemed so upset with the mere possibility of being away from him, it showed him that you had finally accepted him fully; you finally were his and his alone. “I won’t let anyone take you away from me.” He growled possessively, eyes growing cold as you leaned even closer to him, making him take a deep breath in fondness. “I’d rather die.” He whispered, and your head shot up, delicate hands on his chest, and an absolutely divine and desperate look on your face.
“Then I’ll die with you! You can’t leave me behind-“ you said, wide eyes looking at him in pure horror of the simple mention of his death, and he chuckled, brushing a piece of hair behind your ear with gentle hands, as he answered you lowly.
“Don’t worry angel-“ he said, his hand resting on your cheek, eyes watching you like a piece of art. “I’ll take you with me wherever I go.” He said, leaning in for a kiss you eagerly accepted, uncaring of how his hands gripped your waist tightly.
