Hello !! First off thank u for visiting. If you clicked read more by accident rip sorry it’s a lot of text. ENJOY!!! <3

1. This was the photo reference I used. I really did mean it when i said he photographs well!! I really like how scrungly he looks at times lol. v paintable

3. Process breakdown below. I am not formally trained, so don’t take any of this as professional advice!! The way i paint has been compared to channeling some evil contract with a demon also. So um . Im saying that i dont remotely think that this is efficient or correct, its just whats comfortable for me <3

3a) the dreaded lining phase. I have 2 modes of operation when it comes to painting - either i go full-dick with fancy inking/sketching + cel shading (rare, unrefined, haven’t figured out a nice workflow yet) OR i do a very very basic chicken scratch set of lines like so:

It’s less about being realistic here and more about laying down some guide lines for the chaos ahead. If i thought i could get away with it, I would start every rendered painting i do with laying down colours — but unfortchh ive tried that before and it usually ends in really weird proportions. Even with the lines i still need to make adjustments. This is something no people except me would notice but look at the above sketch; the eyes are too big and slightly too far apart, the forehead is too small and thus the hair is also not quite big enough… I have a bad habit of drawing eyes too big on faces, they’re my favourite facial feature to draw.. i barely resisted giving him big cow eyelashes (I love big cow eyelashes… all of my OC’s and most of my more stylised fan art of characters get big cow eyelashes… god…. Big cow eyelashes SAVE ME……….)

Anyway. Structure of the face + hand somewhat established. <3

3b) Underpainting!! Okay stay with me here . Ever since i figured out i dont have to paint in 03925893853 different layers, I’ve joyfully painted on 1 layer as much as possible. I dont have the brain power all the time to be managing layers so I simply dont work with that many layers. For this painting, the skin in its entirety was painted on one layer, the hair on another layer, and the effects on the last layer. There was a placeholder background off-white/grey colour for a while there, and I duplicated the line layer — one for figuring out where to lay colours, and one hidden for later so i could check back to see how accurate to the sketch/proportions were to the actual painting. 6 layers, 2 of which i painted the bulk of the piece on, 1 more at the end.

3c) here’s where I started carving out features. I think about objects in terms of volumes and light rather than lines. i love painting and sculpting because of this!! Here you see where I’ve begun to define his features — his eyelids, his bags, his nostrils. Just refining what was there before. The suggestion of facial hair before i gave it up and left it for later (his face is so naked the WHOLE time)

3d) nose bridge highlight, suggesting his eyebrows, a cheek highlight. A touch more coral red and muted yellow pull away from the grey/blue underpainting. Strategically leaving some of it peeking through.

3e) i truly start messing with the fidelity of his features here. Red lipstick <3 and some violet/blue for shadows on the right side of his face.

3f) the part where it starts looking like q.hughes to me (though, my friend said i got his vibe pretty early on which is such a compliment.. waaaaa…..) I love this part of every painting i do. I know it’s definitely not the Correct order since other parts of the entire painting are simply Not Rendered or Done, but whos gonna stop me?? :3

I love love loveeee painting faces. Adding the little shinies to his eyes + lips + upper lip + nose … you don’t know how much of a difference it makes until you do it. Also i snatched his eyebrows

3g) i really pushed the red/coral/ochre/orange here. Note the yellow highlights on his cheekbones, the forehead, and the thin thin line of pink right between where his bottom lip ends and his chin shadow starts <- very important . To ME!!!!!!! Also highlighting his waterline and adding his lashes was so so fun <3

3h) FACIAL HAIR!!! And I started rendering his hand. Some micro adjustments made to his face for proportion check.

3i) i start painting his hair in earnest and realise his forehead is too small so i make the adjustment. I really love how it falls into his eyes in this photo. <3

3j) i make some final adjustments to his eyes — a bit smaller, closer together. And i refine the outline of his jaw, push the stylisation of it just a little.

3k) Finishing details; his flyaway hairs, his moles, a bit of texture on his face, shadows cast by his hair, his little forehead cut <3

3l) i adjusted his hand here, added more texture to his skin, refined his hair a tiny bit more, and made the decision not to fuck around painting his jersey because i wanted the focus to be his face <3

3m) Canucks blue and green. Captain at 23. His form bleeds into the background. He is the franchise.

theee most fun ive had painting anything. and i finally feel... warmed up? if that makes sense. art for me is like. if i dont do it in a while it feels like nothing goes right when i come back to it. i hate that feeling, and the most difficult hurdle to clear is letting myself feel that until i get back into my Zone. after all this time i feel like im BACK !!!!!!!

The next morning, Hunter slowly woke up, his mind replaying the events of the previous day. He stared at the ceiling, feeling the weight of what had happened. The stabbing, the tears, Orange—everything came rushing back in a chaotic blur. His heart raced as he sat up, his eyes scanning the room. He was all alone in the room no sign of Nullus or Retro. Panic started to creep in, his mind racing with worst-case scenarios.

'Had they left?' Panic began to bubble up inside him. 'No, they wouldn’t leave... right?'

Just as his breathing started to quicken and tears start to form in his eyes, a mouth-watering smell wafted through the room. The scent of freshly cooked food immediately pulled his attention. Before he could react, the door creaked open, revealing Nullus standing there with a tray in hand. The breakfast tray was neatly set with scrambled eggs, toast, and what looked like bacon.

Nullus gave him a flat look, noticing his wide-eyed expression. "Morning, sunshine," he said dryly, stepping into the room with ease. "You look like you’ve seen a ghost." There was a subtle, knowing smirk on his face as he placed the tray on Hunter's lap.

Hunter blinked, the tension in his chest loosening. "Y-You’re still here?"

Nullus looked at him. "No, I’m actually a figment of your imagination. Enjoy your imaginary breakfast." He pointed to the tray before sitting down on the edge of the bed. "Relax. We’re not going anywhere. You panicked for nothing."

Hunter let out a shaky breath, his face flushing slightly in embarrassment. "Sorry... I just thought—"

"Yeah, I know what you thought," Nullus cut him off, though not unkindly. "Eat. I’m not giving you a heart attack first thing in the morning."

Hunter gave a small smile as he picked up a fork. "Thanks, Nullus. For... everything."

"Yeah, yeah. Just don’t stab me again," Nullus replied bluntly. "That wasn’t exactly my favorite part of yesterday."

Hunter winced, nodding sheepishly as he took a bite of the food. Despite everything, it was hard not to feel a little more at ease with Nullus around, He took a deep breath, setting down the fork as his chest tightened with guilt. He glanced at Nullus, his stomach twisting. 'Now or never,' he thought, the weight of his confession pressing down on him. He didn’t want to lose them—didn’t want them to leave like everyone else had. But they had to know the truth.

"Nullus... there's something I need to tell you." Hunter’s voice was low, his gaze fixed on the tray, unable to meet Nullus' eyes. "About yesterday. About..."

Nullus raised an eyebrow, watching him closely, the usual sarcasm in his demeanor fading as he noticed the shift in Hunter’s tone. "Sighs you dont have to tell me if it makes you uncomfortable hunter," he said, his voice more serious now.

Hunter was relief but the thought of Nullus and retro would leave—would walk out of the room and never look back. His heart pounded, and his breath came in shallow bursts. "Please don’t leave."

Nullus facial expression softening. He leaned back slightly, and then, almost too calmly, he said, "don't worry, me and retro arent going anywhere yet." He looked Hunter in the eyes.

Hunter's eyes widened in disbelief. 'They arent gonna leave.'

Nullus sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Hunter i've been alive for centuries and ive met a handful of people who were a mess" He paused, watching Hunter closely. "So i know how to handle people like you since i am the guardian of emotions in my multiverse."

Hunter blinked in surprise, staring at Nullus. "...What"

"It means I could feel slash see things—deep, intense emotions- oh you are surprised that im the guardian of emotion in my world not questioning my position" Nullus said.

Hunter stared at nullus and asks "umm just out of curiousity but which emotions do you draw more power?"

"Oh, I draw power from both positive and negative emotions," Nullus explained with a casual shrug, "but I prefer negative emotions." He smirked slightly, eyes narrowing as he continued, "So yeah, you could say I’m Pluto’s counterpart."

Hunter's heart skipped a beat. "P-p-PLUTO!?" he exclaimed, his voice rising in disbelief. The words hit him like a wave—Nullus, the one who cooked, cleaned, did laundry, and cared for him, was the counterpart of the infamous demonic guardian of negative emotions. A feared serial killer, revered and loathed across multiple universes, who had even stolen his friend Byte.

Hunter shook his head, struggling to process the implications. "But-But! you’re nothing like him! You're nothing like pluto!" He felt his voice tremble, a mix of anxiety and confusion swirling inside him.

Nullus crossed his arms, leaning back slightly. "Look Hunter, Just because I’m Pluto’s counterpart doesn’t mean me and him have the same history and mindset. Just like how every universe and multiverses has its own variations, its own interpretations of characters, even if they share similarities they are not the exact same."

Hunter searched Nullus's face for any sign of deception, but all he found was sincerity. "So you’re saying that you’re not a monster like he is?"

Nullus raised an eyebrow, an amused smirk playing at the corners of his mouth. “Monster? That’s quite the label, don’t you think?” He leaned in closer, his tone shifting to something more serious. “But to answer your question: no, I’m not like Pluto. I'm currently just the guy who who cooks, cleans, and deals with your melodrama now lets just sit here in silences while you eat your breakfast."

Hunter couldn't help but chuckle at Nullus's response, the tension in the room easing slightly. He pick up the fork and took a bite of his breakfast that nullus made for him "hey, thanks again nullus."

Nullus looks at him and a smile forms in his face and they continue to sit there in silence, until hunter remembers retro "wait where's retro" hunter asked as he looks around the room.

"Oh he's right here" nullus said as he lifts his front hair and open's his right eye lid revealing a seem to be sleeping retro the parasite inside of the empty eye socket "he fell asleep while we were watching you last night."

Hunter feels disgust "i forgot retro sometimes stay in your eye sockets" he said as he feels he is gonna vomit as he continues to stare at the eye socket retro is in, "Kinda cute but still very disgusting." And returns to eat his breakfast.

A few days later

“Hunter you’re taking forever in there,” Nullus called out, knocking on the wall. “If I didn’t know better, I’d think you were hiding from me.”

Hunter’s muffled voice came from the other side of the curtain. “I’m not hiding! I’m just... not sure about this one.”

Nullus rolled his eyes, pushing himself off the wall. “Oh for the love of—just come out. It’s not a life-or-death decision. It’s a new outfit.”

There was a pause, then the soft sound of fabric shifting. Slowly, the curtain pulled back, revealing Hunter in a new outfit. He looked down at himself, fidgeting with the sleeves.

Nullus raised an eyebrow, looking him up and down. “You’re overthinking it. It looks fine.”

Hunter glanced at him, frowning. “Fine? Just... fine?”

Nullus shrugged, a slight smirk forming on his face. “What, did you want me to shower you with compliments?"

Hunter huffed, running a hand through his hair. “I’m just not used to wearing stuff like this.”

“Well, you’ll have to get used to it,” Nullus said bluntly. “Unless you plan to live in does rough and ragged clothes for the rest of your life.” He tilted his head slightly, “Now stop sulking and do whatever you young people do in this world.”

Hunter let out a soft laugh, the tension easing just a little. “Fine, fine. I’ll get it.”

Nullus smiled slightly. “Good. I was getting tired of standing around while you had your little fashion crisis.”

Hunter looks at nullus with his eyebrow raised. "You're not gonna pay your gold coins again right?"

Nullus scoffed, crossing his arms and tilting his head slightly. "How was i supposed to know this world's Omegatale doesnt pay with gold coins"

Hunter gave him a look. “Fair enough, but I’m still shocked that you guys thought gold coins were a normal form of payment.”

At that moment, Retro who is possessing a new vessel emerged from the neighboring dressing room. “Hey remember when we paid using gold coins for groceries,” Retro chimed in, grinning. “The look on the cashier’s face... priceless.” He chuckled, recalling the first time they’d went shopping, leaving both the cashier and Hunter jawed-dropped.

Hunter shook his head, unable to suppress his smile. “Yeah, that was something. Still can’t believe you tried to tip them with treasure.”

A few hours later, Hunter, Nullus, and Retro stepped out of the bustling marketplace, bags filled with groceries and Hunter’s new clothes hanging off their arms. As they made their way down the street, Hunter suddenly noticed a growing crowd up ahead. Curiosity piqued, he nudged Nullus. “What’s going on over there?”

Nullus squinted toward the commotion, his expression a mixture of annoyance and intrigue. “Beats me. But it looks like a lot of people are gathering.”

As they got closer, they caught snippets of conversation from the people in the crowd.

"Wait delusion is here?!" Hunter said and smiles and moves foward while nullus and retro follows him.

"Delusion who's that" nullus asked which made hunter stop in his tracks.

"Wait you dont know?" Hunter asked as he is confused. "I already told you who he is when you were in My house the first time remember?"

"Oh" nullus said as he hand scratches the back of his neck looking away from hunter and looks at retro.

"Um hunter well you see" retro said as he looks around and moves forward to whisper in his ear's. "Depending on how nullus is when he dies and how he is killed, he either acts intoxicated, violent, or in this case loses some of his memory"

"..." hunter stays silent as he listened to what retro said and looks at nullus with a sad look on his face.

The three remained silent until Nullus broke the tension. "So, who is Delusion again?" he asked, trying to change the subject.

Hunter glanced up and pointed at a large banner. "He’s the founder and leader of Justice Reign. He’s also the guardian of positive emotions— oh! and a friend of mine," Hunter said with a smile, grabbing Nullus's wrist. "Come on, let's get a closer look!" He pulled him closer towards the stage.

"So, he's Jack's counterpart, huh? That's... surprising, don’t you think, Retro?" Nullus remarked, looking over at Retro.

"Yeah, how can that chaotic little troublemaker in your world be such an influential figure here?" Retro said, gesturing toward the various items and banners bearing the Justice Reign logo.

"What’s Delusion— or Jack— like in your world?" Hunter asked as they reached the front of the stage.

Without hesitation, Nullus replied, "A chaotic sociopath with major issues, wanted in multiple universes."

Hunter blinked, stunned, and turned to Retro for confirmation. Retro just nodded.

"Seriously?" Hunter asked, his voice filled with disbelief.

"Shh!" A civilian nearby shushed them, pointing at the stage as someone began to emerge.

Nullus watched as a man with radiant golden hair, eyes, and wings stepped onto the stage, shimmering and radianting like the sun itself. For a moment, everything around Nullus seemed to fade and his insides felt like its on fire, and time had stopped. He stared, entranced, until he felt a hand on his shoulder.

"Hey, you alright?" Retro asked, noticing the shift in Nullus’s demeanor.

"Yeah, I’m fine," Nullus said, motioning for Retro to come closer.

Retro leaned down, and Nullus whispered, "Something’s off about this Delusion."

"Yeah, no kidding. Dude’s covered in riches and practically controls everything. Major god complex vibes," Retro whispered back.

"Obviously. Just one look and you can tell he thinks he’s above everyone," Nullus replied with a quiet chuckle. "...But there’s something else. Something I can’t put my finger on."

Retro furrowed his brow. "... So, what’s the plan? You want to get involved?"

"...No," Nullus said after a pause. "This isn’t our world. We shouldn’t meddle in its affairs."

"What are you two whispering about?" Hunter suddenly chimed in, curious.

"Just talking about how different Delusion looks from Jack, that's all," Nullus replied.

"Really? What does Jack look like, if you don’t mind me asking?" Hunter inquired, intrigued.

"Well, he’s more into cool colors, gray skin. His fashion sense is modern, something a teenager or a young adult would probably wear. Oh, and he has these two leaves on top of his head," Nullus explained.

"Really?" Hunter glanced back at the stage just as Delusion was leaving. "Looks like the speech is over." Without hesitation, he grabbed Nullus's wrist again. "Let’s go meet him!"

Nullus raised an eyebrow as Hunter dragged him forward, with Retro trailing behind. "He’s literally the leader of an organization that controls almost everything. What makes you think he’ll agree to meet you?"

Hunter smiled. "Well Because i did say earlier he’s actually a friend of mine."

Retro raised an eyebrow. "You have actual friends other than us?"

"Yeah, why is that surprising?" Hunter asked, looking back at Retro a bit offended.

"Nothign but It seems odd that you've been friends with someone so powerful, yet he doesn’t seem to notice anything off about you," Retro replied skeptically.

"Well, he's a very busy man, so maybe that's why he—" Hunter abruptly stopped mid-sentence. He stared at his hand, wide-eyed, as he realized something was wrong. Nullus's wrist had twisted at an odd angle in his grasp.

"Uh... did I just...?" Hunter stammered, his face draining of color.

Nullus looked down at his wrist, which was clearly broken, and sighed. "Yep. You broke it."

Hunter immediately let go, panicking. "Oh my god! I didn’t mean to—are you okay?!"

Nullus shook his head with an amused but exasperated expression. "I’m fine." With a quick, practiced motion, he relocated his wrist with a soft crack, barely wincing. "There. Good as new."

Retro winced. "Yikes, dude. Does that not hurt?"

"Of course it hurts," Nullus said, flexing his fingers to test the range of motion. "But nothing I can’t handle." He shot them both a pointed look. "But seriously—stop grabbing me. Out of the three of us, My body is the fragile one here, remember?"

"sorry," Hunter muttered, still looking guilty.

Retro gave a half-smile, clearly trying not to laugh. "We’ll try not to shatter you next time, 'Mr. Frail.'"

Nullus raised an eyebrow. "Appreciate it. Though, if you do decide to break more bones, try picking ones I don’t need to use."

As they approached the back of the stage, Hunter’s excitement morphed into hesitation. He glanced back at Nullus and Retro, a skeptical look crossing his face. “hey whats with the long faces-” he began, but he cut himself off when he spotted Delusion, bathed in a halo of radiant light.

“Delusion!” Hunter called out, a wide grin spreading across his face as he rushed forward to greet him.

Delusion turned. “hunter?" He said as he sees hunter approaching him “my my you look different. How are things?”

“its been a bit rocky but ok, oh! I want to introduce you to some new friends of mine.” Hunter gestured back towards Nullus and Retro, who were standing a few paces behind.

Delusion’s attention shifted to them. “hmm a pleasure to meet you both.” He extended his hand toward Nullus, who hesitated for a moment before accepting the handshake.

As their hands connected, a slight jolt passed through Nullus, and he felt a burning sensation that sent a flicker of annoyance through him. “Nice to meet you,” he managed, keeping his tone neutral.

“Likewise” Delusion replied.

Hunter watched, oblivious to Nullus's discomfort. “So, uh, we were just shopping and Looks like you have quite the operation going here.”

“Indeed” Delusion smiled, his eyes glinting with something. “The Justice Reign is about uplifting everyone! Making the world a better place.”

Nullus felt a strange unease at those words but kept it to himself. He then excused himself. “I need to find a restroom,” he said, nodding at Retro and Hunter before slipping away.

Inside the restroom, Nullus leaned against the sink, taking a moment to gather his thoughts. He peeled off his gloves, revealing the burns marring his palms. Instead of feeling and whimpering in pain, Annoyance flared within him.

A few minutes later, Retro walked in, his demeanor as relaxed as ever. “Hey, dude. So, I was watching Delusion and hunter chatting and uh he defs giving off some weird vibes.”

Nullus glanced at him through the mirror, the burn marks glinting in the fluorescent light. “Yeah? What did you notice?” he asked.

“Well, it’s not just the bling-bling and the wing show,” Retro continued, leaning against the doorframe casually. “There’s something off about how he interacts with people. Like, there’s this vibe—like he’s not really seeing them, you know? Almost like he’s scanning them for something.”

Nullus sighed, shaking his head. “That’s not surprising. I can tell that he’s not a true guardian. It’s more like he’s consumed the golden apples in this world instead of actually guarding them with Pluto.” He flexed his fingers checking to see if the skin is regenerating. “His aura burns anything corrupt around him, and it affects normal people too."

Retro raised an eyebrow. "Really? Are the burn really that bad?"

Nullus pulls out a scalpel out of his pocket and looks at retro. "Not these burns" he replied and lifts his shirt up and stabs his own abdominal revealing his hollow insides, retro is extremely disgusted but he hears sizzling and steam and looks closer to see some of nullus' insides are burning but regenerating.

"Ew thats nasty bro" retro said, "but that powerful?"

"If it werent for my power slowly coming back i would have been on fire the minute delusion stepped in" nullus responded

Retro raised an eyebrow. “ngl but that sounds like a love confession bro" with that nullus looks at retro with a disgusted look on his face, retro laughs but asks "so what?, you gonna play hero or something ”

Nullus readjust his clothes back. “No, like i said earlier this isn’t our world. We shouldn’t meddle in their affairs,” Nullus responded, adjusting his sunglasses.

“Right, but doesn’t it feel like we kind of have to?” Retro countered.

Nullus shook his head firmly. “No, it doesn’t. We came here on accident so we shouldnt intervene with its affairs. If Delusion is playing his games on this world, let him. It’s not worth our time.”

Retro shrugged, his lax attitude returning. “You do you, man. Probs gonna keep those burns hidden. Wouldn’t want to freak out good old hunter after all.”

“Thanks for the tip, Retro,” Nullus replied sarcastically, slipping his gloves back on. “Now let’s get back before they think we are making out."

"Haha, very funny," Retro replied, raising an eyebrow. "Before we go, are your powers fully back, or are they still charging?"

Nullus sighed, shaking his head. "Still charging, unfortunately," he said, his voice laced with frustration.

Retro glanced at him, letting out a sigh of his own. "You know, that Delusion guy might be our ticket out of here."

"That's a terrible idea," Nullus replied, crossing his arms. "And may I remind you what we actually know about Delusion?"

"Yes, yes, I know," Retro said, waving a hand dismissively. "He runs an organization that practically controls everything, probably has a god complex, is kind of a 'friend' to hunter and, oh yeah—he can burn your insides with a thought."

"Oh, So you do know it’s a terrible idea, then," Nullus said.

"Yeah, but it’s only a terrible idea if we don’t play our cards right, Nully," Retro countered, a smirk forming. "If we approach him smartly, maybe we can use his connections without getting ourselves toasted."

"Even if we did play it smart, we’d probably still end up getting tricked," Nullus retorted. "Need I remind you what happened last time I went along with one of your 'brilliant' plans?"

"Yeah, but that was because we didn’t—"

"You didn’t," Nullus interrupted, jabbing a finger in Retro's direction. "You didn’t think it through."

Retro rolled his eyes, chuckling. "Come on, Nully, where’s your sense of adventure?"

"My sense of adventure vanished the last time you nearly got yourself killed and i had to clean up your mess." Nullus sighed. "Look, even if Delusion could help, he’s as likely to play us as we are to play him."

"But what if we actually did play him" retro suggested, raising an eyebrow with a mischievous glint.

Nullus’s expression shifted to one of utter disbelief. "...You thinking of possessing him?!" he whisper-yelled,

"Well," Retro began, shrugging with a grin, "think about it. Possessing Delusion would solve our problems, right? Access to his power, his resources, and we’d get a front-row seat to all his secrets incase we need to blackmail him and others."

Nullus ran a hand down his face. "Retro, that’s not just a bad idea. That’s borderline suicidal. We dont know that much about delusion and he is probably or obviously the last person you want to try that on in this world. Besides, you probably wouldn't last five minutes before he fried you from the inside out."

"Yeah, yeah," Retro replied with a chuckle. "Fine, I admit, maybe it’s a bit of a long shot."

"A long shot? It’s suicide." Nullus paused, pinching the bridge of his nose before glancing at Retro again. "Look, if we’re going to get out of here, we go for something more... practical."

"Like what?" Retro asked, intrigued.

"We steal lab equipment and make a portal that can lead home." Nullus replied

A grin stretched across retro's face. "Commiting robbery? Now that I can work with," he agreed. "And here I thought you’d lost your sense of adventure."

"Only because I’ve had to use it too often to save your skin," Nullus muttered.

It's actually funny but...I think I started drawing him like that and only like that because of mistake? It was just. I WAS SURE he always had long hair for some reason (it was few years ago and it's even funnier when I realize I've read a lot of comics and seen a lot of shows/animations with him). I don't know why my brain decided it was always like that but yep. He just looks like a guy who need long hair to complete the eye patch and white hair villain look. It was later that I realized there are actually not that much media where he has hair like that ksksks but it stayed with me because I think it's cool and pretty and sexy and he's my babygirl old man. i have had a few moments where i really liked (mackenyu) zoro. when he smiled, once, i was like WOW ??? HELLO??? "zoro’s characterization seems to be one of the major criticisms ive seen across the board so maybe they’ll lighten him up for season 2." 1, What was the original thought that led to the creation of this character?

My husband has a character he loves for rdo, Makwa. We started talking about him one day and somehow decided to start roleplaying. So I made Cassidy as a partner for him

2. How long was the process before the character reached its final version? (or a version that would be clearly recognizable as the character?)

He's still techinally a work in progress but he has most his backstory, character traits, and personality. I just dont have his cowboy design. He has his army fit and his face and hair and stuff like that is done. His now cleary recognizable version was first made on 8/27/24 and his doodle sheet was finished on 9/23/24. So bout a month later. Im also still working on getting his shire/cob mix drawn with his new pattern marking. I used a f2u base but the stature isnt the same so i need to now translate it onto his actual body.

3. What was the first thing you decided on, the character's name, appearance, personality or their role in the story?

So it went kinda backwards from how theyre listed. His role came first since Lamb and I decided to make him Makwa's boyfriend. Then came his personality which plays off Makwa a good bit. Then his design and finally his name.

4. And reverse, which one of the four things did you struggle with the most?

His design. His clothes have been very difficult. His army fit not so much since I can just look at historical uniforms but his cowboy fits been a whole lot harder. I still dont have his cowboy fit cause i cant figure out what kind of silhouette I want for him and the extra details. I want him to look unique and not boring. A lot of cowboy designs just feel really lacking on details. So idk

5. How did you choose their name and why? Was it simply based on vibes or is there any specific meaning behind the name? Are the reasons behind their name different in- and out of universe?

So his name means White Fire Fire. I thought that was hella funny so I chose to use both of those. Hes also a pyromaniac so yknow. I also wanted to make sure he had an Irish last name since his mothers 1st gen Irish immigrant (so shes irish herself) and his dads 2nd gen (so his parents were irish). I just looked around in name lists. I think I specifically looked for male names popular in the year he was born. So like 1850 sumn I think. I have it in my notes somewhere lol

6. What was the thought process behind their appearance? Did you go mostly for the aesthetic or are there other reasons they look the way they do?

Honestly it just kinda immediately was in my head. I was thinking of that one guy in Captain America: The First Avenger. The ginger guy in Steve and Buckys team with the stache. He was my first thought but I wanted Cassidy to look more unhinged which made me then think of Charles Manson and his eyes. Also with some color palette changes. Speaking of which his colors are mostly in the red to yellow range with blue because of fire :)

7. What is an aspect of their appearance that you like the most?

His stache. I dont draw a lot of facial hair and it just is him. It makes him so noticable. Its either that or his eyes. I like the shape and his crazed expression or yknow the opposite when he gets angry and the tops of his eyelids actually touch his iris.

8. What is the origin of their personality? And let's be honest - how much of it is projecting?

He does have some projection but lets be honest again all my characters will have projection. Whether I know or not i just dont know how to make characters without some degree of it. I only know myself completely like that so ofc in creating a whole new person im gonna use myself as reference. Any mini ramble over, he got my pyromania cranked up to 11. Like hes actually an arsonist, I am not. I just like watching fire and watching stuff burn. Idk where the rest of his personality really came from though. Just me brainstorming and givin him stuff.

9. How big is their role in the story? Do they make a frequent appearance or are they a character with little "screentime" but big influence? Or are they just a favourite background guy?

Seeing as its roleplay centered on him and makwas story id say pretty massive lol. I love him but I think lamb and I both kind of see it as Makwa being the main character while Cassidy is his supporting character

10. What is their main character arc in the story? Where do they start and how do they develop? Do they get a happy ending or is their story a tragic one?

Honestly? Hes not a good guy. He never gets redemption. He is intrinsically bad. He kills for the fun of it. He quite literally will kill you (general) if youre too boring and dont bring him entertainment or if your death would bring him entertainment. His main motivators are protecting Makwa and having fun. The most "development" he has is basically developing a set of morals which is just not doing stuff Makwa doesnt like. As for an ending he doesnt really have one yet. We dont know where thats going but we have a few general plot points that are in a timeline.

11. Is there any existing character from other media that your character resembles? Was the resemblance intentional or was it a coincidence?

Without his stache, he honestly looks like Julian Devorak to me. Idk if theres any others tho personality or looks wise.

12. Do you have a playlist for the character? What songs do you associate with them and why?

I do!! Lambs helping me build it but mostly its built off vibes. Anything slightly unsettling or creepy while upbeat. Theres also a ship playlist but its only got like 4 songs rn and that ones Lambs

13. Do you have a voice claim for the character? What do you imagine the character sounds like?

I dont yet. At first I was thinking like southern American accent with notes of Irish but I couldnt find any references to that. So now Im just thinking southern cowboy with some words said with the pronouncation of brit english. Seeing as his father has the southern accent since hes usa raised and his mother died when he was a young kid, he doesnt have a lot of the Irish accent influence anyway.

14. Do you have any quotes tied to the character, either from the story itself or from another source that fit them?

I have some from roleplay but not really. Heres a few from rp i like ig: "Got teeth like the god damn hounds. If your name aint Dog already, it should be." (after Makwa bit him on the hand during their first meeting) Makwa: "...you have to bite the hand that feeds you." Cassidy: "I didn't feed you shit, mutt." "No plan makes a dead man."

15. Have you ever made a moodboard for them?

Hub and I have a Pinterest board for the both of them. It's called Blazen Arrow which is their ship name.

16. Is there any memes or running jokes associated with the character, both in- and out of universe?

in universe, he gets the outlaw name "Fire Boy McCoy" and he absolutely hates it. I cant think any others right now.

Fire. Lots of fire.

He does have a family which consisted of him late father, late mother, and older sister (and the inlaws and nieces and nephews). Then yknow Makwa. And his horse and cat. Theres a few others but those are the important ones.

Idk. I just love all of him. Him being completely unhinged probably if i had to pick.

So, I never colored this character in, but this was my first time playing around with a character that wasn't a direct emulation of myself or a friend.

I themed this character after Iniko's music, and the lyrics to Jericho by that artist are on the side of the paper saying "I'm high, I'm from outer space, I got milky way for blood and evolution in my veins - I've been dreaming about flying for a long time, artificially intelligent new AI."

I am not very good at full front profiles, so I referenced canon characters from Craig of the Creek (notably Craig, Xavier, and Kenneth especially) for facial inspirations.

The hairstyle her hair is in, though it's snakes, is called a 'Chic braided bun with a center braid,' I believe? I was studying different hair types and hair styles, and that one is the one I tried to best emulate with her hair.

She's wearing an edgy sweater that's cut around the shoulders held by stitch work lines, her shoes are themed after any basic pair of bulky, fashionable shoe, and her pants are ripped and tattered with pins on them.

The line underneath and above her eye is her android port, where her memory files and more are stored.

Her entire style is themed after a Gorgon, but I like robots and androids and stuff so I mashed them altogether.

I really like this piece because as an artist, it's important to work with different types of people, even if your style is cartoony.

I showed this because all morning apparently there's a wide controversy that people are saying it's impossible to draw black characters, or characters of any other ethnic group/whatever it's called (because I honestly do not know) because "it's too difficult" and "it's not what they know."

Its not impossible to draw characters in any given style. If you find it impossible to draw characters different from yourself, you should really at least just *try*. There's resources out there like I mentioned above that are non-offensive pieces of media with a wide range of characters that can help you make non offensive characters if you felt like being offensive was your first and foremost thought.

Theres even examples of black media today that can really help you learn how to draw-well, black people. Art is a learning process. If you can't draw black people by tomorrow, nobody is gonna hold that against you; but it would be a good idea to get some encouragement to at least TRY to attempt drawing people you believe would be "too difficult," and to furthermore learn what makes stereotypical art stereotypical. Information is wide, and publically available in today's day and age in most areas or places; there is no shame in researching what you don't know. This is to also say, people are not in charge of educating you until it needs to be said or done. If you intentionally make offensive art regarding anyone of any background, you need to realize that is solely your own doing or your own ignorance.

What I'm seeing is more or less annoying white people saying "oh I dont wanna be offensive" when there's a wide public library of what is considered offensive characatures(?) in art via any search engine. While I'm not trying to discredit that fear, it's entirely possible to learn how to draw people different from yourself.

When I get the money to color this character in (I don't have many art supplies) I will post her again.

I hope that this can shed some light that yeah, people "think it's difficult" until they actually try. I think as long as you try that's all that matters, and as long as you know and are aware of what is offensive and what is not, what is counted as stereotypical, and what is not, you will be fine.

Now get out there and go draw some people you would never otherwise think it could be possible. Go on, git- go on and do your artsie fartsies. You got this, I believe in u♥️

I dont do much study drawings but we can dream and say reader does like, colour studies with the boys cuase they got great variety in colours, also maybe the reader kinda, talks about the boys in an art sense like, says their anatomy is easy or nice to draw, their eyes are a nice shape, weird specific compliments like that? I do that lmao, mainly abount hands becuase they’re so varied and can bee skinny, bony, chubby, or just undefined. I also just like to notice anatomy details and thinks its cool becuase peoples features are cool and unique : D

When you first ask him, he’s a bit confused. He doesn’t consider himself anything special, but he also sees no reason to deny you so he’ll go along with it in the end

He’s actually quite good at art himself. Having been around for centuries allows him time to practice any skill he wishes so occasionally he may turn the tables and ask to draw you instead

Likes it when you draw his hands the best. He enjoys it when you move his hands into the precise position because he finds your concentrated face quite adorable

He starts a little folder of all the drawings of him that you’ve done and given to him and keeps them somewhere he can access to look back over when you’re not with him

Is so smug when you ask if you can draw him because he’d be great practice. Takes all your compliments about his eye shape and lip curve with pride and even shoots a couple back at you

Instead of you telling him what positions to stand in, it’s him deciding he wants to do a certain pose and then you telling him to go back to it when he decides he wants to do a different one mid way through the sketch

Likes to wink and fire compliments off at you when you’re super focused on sketching his facial features; he finds it cute how easy it is to snap you out of focus and fluster you

You don’t really have a choice on whether to give Childe the drawings, he practically begs for them each time and even offers to pay for them. He likes to send them with his letters to his family and show off how talented you are

He initially says no to your requests to draw him but resigns himself to his fate when you just sit at the bar and sketch him whilst he’s working instead. At least it keeps you occupied

Will let you mess around with his hair and give him whatever hairstyles you want to draw him with because he enjoys the feeling of your hands combing through his hair. Would absolutely never admit it out loud though

He felt strangely happy when you were talking to Venti about why you like to draw him so much and complimented his face shape and the ‘natural curve of his back’ for being easy to draw

He never gushes about your art but will offer a small “it looks nice” if prompted and will never reject to take the drawings if you offer them to him

He says he only lets you draw him because he’s bored just standing around all day and has nothing better to do but he’s secretly super flattered

Any of your unique compliments about his easy anatomy or pretty hands etc would definitely catch him by surprise. He’s lucky that his mask hides his face otherwise his nonchalant reactions would definitely be less believable

He wouldn’t take his mask off to let you draw his eyes or anything, but maybe if you catch him when he’s off duty, he’ll let you do a quick sketch if you ask nicely enough

I used to draw a lot in middle school (2010-2012) but my depression worsened during high school and in college, I’d only draw as a distraction, never seeking to study or improve. Anatomy Anatomy is something I think it’s one the most crucials things to learn in order to make your drawing look good. Gesture Gesture drawing is a method of capturing figures in exaggerated poses, usually drawn quickly. Digital Media Digital art is how everyone’s been doing art these days. It doesn’t matter if you’re doing with your phone or your computer. I don’t do art on my phone, I know the most used app is mediabang for android and procreate for apple, and I think anyone who is able to do art with their finger is very skilled. If you are like me and prefer doing art on your computer, you probably have your tablet. If not, well you should have. Not having a tablet is not an option if you want to get better at art ^^’ Best tablet for beginners in 2020. Or you can just buy an old used one, if it still works, and you are a beginner, a small intuos is all you need. When talking about softwares, the three big ones I see people using are: Photoshop, Clip Paint Studio and Paint Tool Sai. The best one is CPS, but I find Sai easier to navigate, but CPS is extremely complete and I hope to be able to master it someday. CPS Tutorials. I don’t have much to say about photoshop, people use it mostly because they’ve been using it forever lol I divide my digital painting process in steps: Sketch/Lineart/Color Blocking/Shading/Blending/Color correction. Sketch is the basics, draw your idea. Lineart is to clean your sketch. Color Blocking is to color your drawing one color, so it’s easier to work in it. Shading is to understand where the lighting sources are coming from and apply them. Blending is to blend the colors of your drawing with brushes. Color correction is when I use filters of hue/saturation and others to make the drawing more appealing. if anything jimmy would go in the second tier. i know the canary curse thing is popular fanon and i think that's fun but honestly, in a similar way to bigb, i think thats just the way humans can be sometimes (obviously, since jimmy is actually a real human) and im so attached to the concept of people being 'supernatural' in extremely natural ways. i always find a way to bring in my philosophies when i talk about this stuff........ anyways . what i mean with jimmy is that you might think he is cursed and doomed but actually its just a bad string of events and he will thrive despite them

everyone in the 3rd tier from the top except stress is like. they are completely visually human but they're not *actually* human and i, me, mason, haven't decided on what exactly makes them inhuman. its just their aura

whereas stress (the exception) is completely visually human but she has a bunch of weird beady eyes under her hair swoop (you can kind of see them in my hermitaday stress). hence, stress monster. but she's not a 'monster' in terms of personality. she's full of joy.

cub and pearl are similar in terms of i think they change appearance sometimes. cub moreso than pearl. i think it just kind of.... happens.... with cub. he's like innately tied to supernatural happenings (not just through convex) so he's just kinda visually unpredictable. personality wise he is always the same, though. wheras pearl is like some sort of celestial body who you would genuinely believe is human until like a full moon or something where she can't keep the appearance up. that's my pearl lore. she's very grounded and human in terms of personality though

scar. scar? idk. similar to cub except he changes appearance for like. 'roles'. i dont even Know with scar. he's like mostly human but sometimes he got elf ears. what's up with that guy. idk that's scar.

the only one in the 'nonhuman/hybrid' tier that i dont have a set 'species' for is tango. he could be like an elemental or something.....? or he's just a weird humanoid. ? shrugs. cave beast this season.

all the others there are p obvious though. cleo zombie gem deer ren dog jevin slime (i dont actually watch jevin that much but he was an obvious pick for this category soooo)

tempting because i love drawing skizz but honestly my design for him isn’t all that different from canon or even fanon

i know the fanon right now is that he’s an angel/part angel but recently i’m not the biggest participator in hybrid designs :p

(i answered this ask and then proceeded to use this ask as an excuse to ramble about some of my design process….)

i do think its really cute though, especially when paired with demon impulse, because their personalities don’t perfectly match what would be expected from angels and demons typically.

skizz is wayyy more chaotic and impulse is betrayed more times than he betrays other people, just as examples, yet i still find the designs fun as a duo!

(begs the question though — angel and demon from what? the christian heaven and hell? the minecraft heaven and hell? is this a watcher lore thing that i don’t know about because i don’t keep up with the watcher lore? probably none of those actually, it doesnt really need explained [like how theres no explanation really needed for how cleo’s a sentient zombie, its all for fun])

i don’t really do hybrid designs as much as fanon does because my goal with designing them is to capture their vibe, or how i perceive their personality. like a person who’s watched a lot of hermitcraft but has never seen hermitcraft fanart could look at my drawing and say “i’m almost certain that’s bdubs”. and doing hybrids doesnt always fit in to that for me! you’ve probably noticed i’ve gone super back and forth on my zed design, particularly whether he should have long or short hair and whether he should be a sheep hybrid or not. i’m partial to the ‘not’ but i havent really decided yet— we’ll see!

though if a person’s mc skin is already a hybrid or if that just fits well with their energy (ren the canonical dog ; gem just reads as a deer/similar to me) i do draw them as that! i just don’t always hop on fanon hybrids, like grian is never an avian or any other hybrid in my recent drawings, and etho has become more and more human as well, etc.

On Depicting "Aged Up Characters"

Just some rambling and ranting about something im coming across with work regarding character depiction.

First and foremost, most of my long-time followers probably already know that when it comes to fictional characters, i do not care about needing to age up characters to enjoy them and whatnot, cuz fictional. But also, i 100% understand why people age them up to properly enjoy them.

That said, i need people to at least kinda explain to me what they need to see to consider a character aged up.

This is mostly for patreon work and commissions, cuz this pops up really often???

I don't subscribe to "traditional traits" of what makes a person appear "aged up." Stylistic choices aside, i generally try to make a character look as much like how they are canonically as possible with more realistic proportions, barring me changing traits to something i personally find more attractive (see me making literally every character i like chumby with a tumby). My drawing actually being seen as "oh hey, its THAT character" asap (preferably, on sight) is very important to me.

Real people don't always have the (mis)fortune to get all the traits that people need in order to appear like an "adult" to everyone.

Not everyone gets taller after that last growth spurt they got at 15.

Not everyone gets facial hair, or hell, they decide to stay clean shaven regardless of the level of hairy they achieve.

Not everyone gets broad superman shoulders or huge tits

Not everyone gets a Dorito-faced bad touch senpai chin. (this one drives me up the wall because round face shapes are CUTE and not everyone gets chiseled cheekbones or jawbones at 18, god dammit.)

A lot of these traits are only seen as "adult traits" mostly cuz hollywood really fucked us because they depicted a LOT of teenagers in media using adult actors that are deemed conventionally attractive. So most people's perceptions of what looks like an adult is pretty warped.

IMO, subscribing to traditional traits of being an adult, or simply appearing older, limits what you can do when designing a character, and also comes with othering people who dont get those traits in reality. I, myself, for example, am pretty short compared to most amab people of the race on my mom's side (which is black). And when i shave, people tended to think i was like, 16, even in my mid-20s because my filipino genes kept my face relatively roundish too. (Which is to my advantage being a trans woman, but thats not my point.). Most traits that are taped onto a charatcer to "age them up" dont apply to me when i became an adult. Then this becomes more difficult when you add in stylistic choices in art (see: chibi art)

So where i stand, i dont care for traditional adult traits because most of them are dumb anyway. But, im more than amenable to depicting them for work and art if asked!

When people ask, i follow up to ask them to clarify how they'd want them to appear "older" or "aged up" or "adult" and one of two things happen:

they never explain what would they want to see and magically expect me to read their mind or something

They literally don't know what they're looking for.

Which is problematic to me because, some people dont change at all as they get older. Genetics just be like that; Some of us grow into our final proportions once we hit 15, and das it.

So my choices in this situation are to either take a wild guess at what they want, or just do nothing and leave them the same (the latter often being suitable enough to most situations since my style is semi-realistic enough in terms of proportions, which leads me to think its less them wanting them aged up, and more to cover their own ass in case of implications). I don't like defaulting to "the traditional traits" to make them appear like an adult cuz it may end up not looking like that character after a point. Some of those traits dont even apply when you make them chubby or they gain weight or won't even be noticeable unless you put in something else as a frame of reference. ie. being fat diminishes the chiseled cheeks/chin that a lot of older male characters are depicted with, so to some who follow this rubric, chubby faces make people look younger.

But it also infuriates me because it goes to show that people are often just saying these things in order to adhere to demands of the political climate. Which, of course, is totally valid when you want to avoid Discourse™, but less so when you're not thinking about it critically and go around assuming that everyone reacts to and copes with the concept the same.

Also... it dumps all the brainwork on ME. >:T

I know i'm a badass artist and whatnot, but guesswork is my least fun thing to do to make sure some cartoon character looks suitably adult enough to enjoy guilt-free by one-person-in-particular

Taller? i can do that. Body hair? sure! Definitely. But you gotta give me something to work with. I can't read minds (yet).

WHEW, this is such a lovely question. I am not very good at character design i am afraid, but I CAN say something abt kazu’s designs: despite many of his character features are recycled, they are good character designs (rather mediocre and wacky but yes, dare i say it, good) but they are also bad. Good enough and logical enough to do it all simply, efficiently but still recognizable (I would know because I tried drawing the characters as simple as possible once, and I was still able to identify which is which), which is what character design is all about.

He isn’t exactly very good always, though, for starter’s: I FUCKING HATE HIS ARMOR DESIGNS. AT ALL. It’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen and although it looks dangerous and mystical. it makes no damn anatomical and practical sense, and a huge pain in the ass to draw. And I’m sure he knows that, and i’m sure i wasnt the only person who sighed in relief that trellis’s armor got damaged in book 5. It’s literally a blessing to anyone who wants to draw trellis ever

I don’t really have much issues over anything else, but i dislike his robot designs but that’s just me. Tbh, I’d wanted him to diversify his facial features more and actually learn how to draw black characters because he sucks at it. And to one of my greatest frustrations, for all of his cartoon style, he is somehow abysmal at drawing expressions. A lot of his works are stiff and rather boring/lifeless that it’s hard to enjoy it. Instead of I dunno, going all out because the cartoon style is a a more liberating style than most, he doesn’t take full advantage of it (I would know because I tried drawing like him and now looking back i wanna gag at my works because I had to unlearn all that crap and I AM STILL UNLEARNING. The damage has been done).

Ok now that i reread all those answers are unrelated to the ask, so uh I’ll try to fix that (altho i kinda indirectly answered this with my recent char redesigns):

Emily: limit her color palette because god she is a vibrant over decorated horror. RED hair with YELLOW cap with CYAN shirt with GREEN pants?? IM GONNA MURDER YOU. Also thicker eyebrows for better expressions:)

Trellis: Give him a blind eye. I honestly am unsure if his monochromatic color scheme is good or bad. Give elf eyes color because ngl only having it as slits is super boring and severely limits its potential variety

Navin: give him an actual outfit that you could immediately recognize as his?? he has the most inconsistent wardrobe in Amulet I dont know if I enjoy or hate it. Also, same face as Emily

Leon: give his snout some depth dear god

Vigo: no offense Vigo but your outfit is boring as all fuck and kills the mood w your hat. How the heck do I rectify this

Riva: make her yellow coat look more like a thicker raincoat. Thicker boots, pants, and gloves ala chemist style and for comfort and maneuverability

Karen; give her red hair I guess?? And change her hairstyle. She looks wildly different from her kids its hard to think she’s the mother

Elf King: a complete overhaul redesign except for the palette because not only his wardrobe is boring, ugly, it ALSO MAKES NO DAMN SENSE. I like the mask concept, but the way kazu designs his clothes throws me in a loop

Max: would it kill him to actually clarify what the color palette his clothes are?? I’M GONNA SHAVE HIS HEAD HIS HAIR IS HARD TO DRAW

Also when i say my art's improved... my baseline drawing has not significantly improved imo, i just learned how to use colors and drawing tools better

And like... I really dont think i've had an improvement of leaps and bounds. The hair was simpler than i've been drawing lately but that was a specific choice rather than a complete inability, and their facial features were less balanced, but it was still a choice to give them facial features that were slightly too big to be correctly proportionate, because they're a very expressive person. Mostly it was just clumsiness in the pencil drawing, which was from something like 2 years of not drawing before that.

I could also ink quite well in traditional media when I was in better practice, but all my inked drawings are much older, and I dont feel like scrounging any up any examples.

I just didnt know what the fuck to do with coloring! I never really learned! Buying markers is exPENSIVE! And has a bigger barrier of entry than I could manage. Sometimes i would do stuff with prismacolor pencils but i was also just as likely as not to ruin a drawing. For the most part, i just decided it was something I couldn't do, and I would never learn, and it took me a while to come around to even accepting that I could try.

I'm probably getting a little too silly with it now that i'm really into dreamy cloudscapes and evocative geometric shapes for backgrounds, and I'm almost certainly going to find it as clumsy as I find most of my older stuff.

But like... also I have this drawing of neil and razma from almost exactly 2 years ago:

And that does legitimately feel like a good improvement! It's nice to be excited about drawing again because I've stuggled with it from basically the moment that people tried to prod me into monetizing it/making it a career when I was merely a very large teenager of the exact height I still am, and it was up to me alone to face the truth that I didn't have the *anything* for a career in art, not talent, not dedication, not the ability to work myself to the bone.

I've quit drawing so many times! Probably many of those were the massively untreated depression! Some of them were that my restaurant jobs were literally too taxing on my hands and arms and I couldn't wear them out further with that hobby. It's actually a little bit terrifying to even open myself up to it again because all the depression pathways in my brain want things to be the texture and simplicity of instant mashed potatoes because everything is frequently Too Much.

So uh... Yeah, I guess this is what I mean when I say that I can draw again because of the wellbutrin.

It is pretty hilarious how much i've improved at art since i started taking wellbutrin actually

It doesn't really fix the nadirs of depression for me but it does help when my baseline other stuff is taken care of to not still have the "nothing matters" -itis

If you want a [specific]!reader in a request, I am more than happy to oblige!!

I try my best to keep features (size, skin colour, hair or in general facial features etc.) unmentioned or vague, with fic-specific personality traits and dis/likes.

It is never my intention to discriminate against any of my readers in my writing, or make anyone feel like they are not welcome on my blog. I write from “experience” or at least what I am more familiar with as I also do not want to come over insensitive or inaccurate in my representation of the character.

“(...) x reader fighting” domestic disputes are a no no for me. at least not when it has to be the focal point of the story, a light argument is ok. This includes romantic pairings but also family or friend problems.

ive been feeling lately that im not sure i’ll ever transition. like idk if i’ll ever come out publicly. i dont want to. im certainly not ready for that now, and like partly because i still dont know what id even necessarily come out as. and its okay if i dont know, but obviously people are gonna ask. not everyone will think it’s okay if i don’t know, lol. and like.... idk. my friends will know. i’ll be me online, like here on this blog. but i’m not sure i’ll ever transition publicly. my sister is trans and is transitioning, on hormones, wearing clothes that express her gender better, that she never used to wear before, so she’s making a lot of changes and becoming happier for it. and going by her new name publicly now, which previously she wasn’t, i was one of the only people who knew it. but i can tell that that’s not me. 

whether i’m a girl or like none binary with left girl... either way... a transition for me wouldnt really involve changes to my physical appearance, except i guess taking hormones and shaving my face all the time instead of lazily letting my facial hair grow out even though i hate it and i think it looks and feels bad to have. but like... i wouldnt grow my hair out... i had long hair when i was in high school, longer than plenty of cis girls i was friends with haha. and eh, been there done that. no thanks. i dont wanna change how i dress because tbh i dress like... nothing. like really plain. the plainest things. and i wouldnt change that lol, i dont care. that’s a personality thing, not a gender thing. if i was born a cis girl, i feel like i would look exactly like i do now, dressing the same and with the same haircut. and on a cis girl, that might be very visibly queer haha, but.. i’m not a cis girl. so i dont even know what a transition would like... be. hormones i guess, but tbh i dont feel like they’d do a lot for me. 

testosterone makes afab people change in very noticeable ways, sometimes very fast, they start growing facial hair, building muscle differently, and their voices change. estrogen wouldnt change my voice, alter my overall shape all that much, or make facial hair stop growing. id get boobs i guess, but like, shrug, if that’s the only thing i would be doing it for, then it’s probably not what’s right for me. estrogen does make a lot of trans women feel a lot better about themselves and im not knocking that lol, i’m just talking about how this all pertains to me. top surgery for trans guys is relatively simple, they have a thing that they dont want and it can be removed relatively easily. i know it’s not actually easy, it’s expensive and hard to get and there’s always gonna be risk involved with stuff like that, but like compared to trans surgeries involving genitals, it’s a relatively simple one right? i think most trans guys who have top surgery dont necessarily have bottom surgery in any way, but just that first one, top surgery, makes such a noticeable visible difference and is a great weight off their shoulders, pun intended. im not interested in bottom surgery either, like, i mean im not wild about my thing, but im not interested in doing anything with that. but i dont have anything to chop off above my waist lmao, only things i think it would be neat if i had, haha. so basically what im saying is.... the list of changes i would even make to my physical appearance is like.... actually really small. and not because i love myself and am content with everything, cause im not. sigh. i just wish i had been born as a cis girl from birth. testosterone is too powerful and i wish it never ran amok through my body lmao, cause like i cant really undo all the stuff it did, not easily anyway. and the ways that we can undo those changes... arent things that i would be comfortable with. so im just left.... uncomfortable. that’s why trans guys transition so drastically... testosterone really fucks you up hahaha

hmmm. idk. i feel like the only thing a transition would really entail for me, at this stage in my life, is just people calling me Gwen in person. and using they/them or she/her, i guess. but i dont think i’m ready for that. that thought scares me. ive heard it sometimes in person, via my boyfriend (who is also trans, and transitioned before we started dating), and that can be nice, but i dont think im ready for my family or strangers to call me Gwen. i like it online because none of you know what i look like. i can be myself because none of you have preconceived notions about me... all you know is what you see when i say things online, which is great. in person though, im not sure im ready to handle the judgment and confused looks and suffer through every time someone goes “Wi- uh, i mean Gwen” like my mom still does with my sister. she’s trying, but she calls her her deadname like 50% of the time or more, and like i just.... idk. obviously she calls me my birthname too, because she doesnt even know my new name, but the fact that she doesnt know it means that it doesnt really bother me when she calls me my birthname. if she knew it, and said my deadname, even by accident, it would just be like... idk... a whole thing.... you know? i wouldnt correct her necessarily, not all the time anyway, but she might correct herself and idk that just seems like something i would feel really awkward experiencing, i dont think im ready for all that. especially cause like... and this is the big reason..................................... i dont feel like Gwen. not physically, anyway. i feel like Gwen when i’m online cause i can just *be* Gwen, but physically... if im in my room, by myself, it’s fine, but when i’m around people i *really* don’t feel like Gwen. because i havent transitioned i guess, but like... idk. i just really dont wanna draw too much attention to myself. i talk a lot on here, but i’m an anxious person, i’m shy, i’m very introverted, etc.
