ok. gonna say something, and its i hate kpop. ok. its out. fr i grew up in the west w severe internalized racism and u would think kpop would b like oh representation well yeah somewaht i guess but 1.) it made ppl start fetishizing asian ppl which is weird as fuck theres a gurl at my school who is so obsessed w hanging around and being associated w asian people shes a fucking creep and tries talking to me in korean when im not even korean lmfao but ive spoken abt that so heres my main point rn: kpop is fucked cos literally they r going for the same look in everyone like there is not enoigh diversity within ethnic features bcosnits frowned upon or not the social “”“ideal”“” so we have like 90 lb girls and its fucked but also kpop wasnt rlly representation for me cos when i tried to find pieces of myself in kpop people or even cpop people im like thats not me none of these people are remotely me besides what?? being east asian?? i get it i grew up in the west im influenced by western culture and music but like?? kpop has generally the same aesthetic the girls r pretty and thin and “asian doll” or they have the skirts and have that super femme look and i was never that girl like i have so many masculine influences in my life that it dictates how i talk and act and sit and it pisses me off bcos the asian girl stereotype is idk like smart tiny girl wears skirts idk i dont kno what im saying but i never found comfort in kpop bcos even tho its racial representation its not full representation u kno i always feel like an outsider cos i never fit the femme of either western OR eastern culture and even now i try to buy frilly blouses r whatever cos its not like i dont like being traditionally feminine cos i do i love it but i just cant actually do it myself but it seems like everyone idk i try to buy these femme things but i end up never wearing them but then i get stuck going like SHIT i should try being more femme or more asian kpop girl cos thats really all i know abt being asian having grown up here but then im like sweats nervously cos i cant b like that like fuck man im fucking doc martens wears all black better than van mccann can idk im just frustrated cos it sux havingn to do everything urself all the time
