Monster Hunter Stories 2 fanfiction. Because I may or may not be simping for Alwin. (Also, my character is a male because I simply like the male armor sets way more)

This goofy Wyverian loves cats, that’s the biggest green flag in my book. Also I love his quote at Lulucion city, he says something among the lines of “Does everyone here has that… a sense of humor?!” with a goofy ah surprised Pikachu face and it made me laugh so loud lmfao I love Alwin, he is so goofy.

Also, I know post game he isn’t the best pick out of the NPC characters to accompany me gameplay wise, but man… Alwin and Shaulk are so awesome I can’t help but love them and want to have them around with me after the grand adventure was over 😭 like, seriously, ever since I had to part ways with him I thought “damn he’s so cool! I want to have him in my party again eventually!” ALSO his kinship animation with Shaulk is so cool like AAAAAAAH and his voice is 😳😳😳 damn (at least in Japanese, idk about the english voice because I haven’t heard it lol)

(Also also, why the flying fuck did they choose fucking Congalala for the ice region?! Isn’t there an artic monkey in the Monster Hunter games called Blango or Blangonga or something?! It would’ve been so much better than the pink stink-bomb monkey 😭😭😭😭 if I could delete a monster from this game it would be Congalala, I hate that thing)

Greetings beings of Rotomblr. My name is Alwin, and it’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance!

I’m I was a Wyverian from Rutoh Village in Alcala region. My age is almost three centuries old, if I recall correctly. Not that my age matters. My pronouns are he/him.

I’ve been in this world for some time, almost a century and a half. Enough time so that I’ve watched my chosen’s descendants come and go. I don’t know why Arceus took me from my own home (and my universe, if He is to be believed), or why He’s commanded me to be His right hand, but won’t disobey. It would be too much of a risk.

I have a few disciples, but I’m not willing to share any of their names currently.

Even after all this time, I still do not understand my other form. Since Arceus informed me that I am the only two-formed being from another universe in our universe, He gifted me this odd device. He told me that here I may communicate with people from other universe and ask for assistance without risk to my identity here.

I hope to speak with you all more personally soon! Perhaps you can help me with my situation.

Alwin comes from the universe of Monster Hunter. Themes of both human and animal?(/pokemon/monster/monstie) violence and death will all be present. It won’t be a main feature of the blog, unlike other tws here, but it is part of the “lore”.

There are also heavy religious themes, both Christian and otherwise. (Think Greek mythology.) If this makes you uncomfortable, this is not the blog for you. Alwin will constantly speak of being afraid of Arceus.

Idk if these are big triggers- so here’s just a few basic themes.

time/space manipulation- like going back in time and traveling to other universes.

omnipotent gods- the big four are always watching. always listening. even if they don’t want to.

corruption- giratina. yeah.

underworlds- the distortion world functions as the underworld. souls/ghosts and the holiday día de los muertos are also important! distortion worlds also got layers and stuff, the one seen in dppt is the final layer where giratina resides with the “eternally punsished”. just felt like mentioning that here.

their eyes start off a bright red, with Honeydew Melon green hair, several years before finding out their beloved granfather passed away, his Rathalos returning to its position as Island Guardian. Age 7-14

Meleni roughly about midway through the story, the growing Bond with Eiwyn and Babydoll are beginning to appear. Their hair is beginning to lighten, and the stress and anxiety over the weight of the responsibility for the potential chaos that would occur if Eiwyn really does have the Wings of Ruin makes them almost an entirely different person. Meleni avoids fighting alongside Eiwyn for a time, instead using a white Monoblos named Noble. Their sclera have a slight blue tint to them, and their right iris has already shifted to a bright green. Age 15-17

Meleni towards the end of the main story. They've fully accepted Eiwyn again, their body changing to match their Bond. Pale blue sclera, left iris a brighter blue with a red-ringed pupil, right iris a bright green with no pupil but a red reflection when light is shone in their eyes. the clarity of Meleni's vision hasnt changed, but what specifically they can sense has. Sharper teeth and even sharper instincts honed by their experiences no child should have gone through. has an unusually high pain tolerance and doesnt realise that healthy people dont visit the Hot Springs three times a week. Age 18-22

Making my own versions of the partner Monsties, Part 1, featuring: Shaulk (I wish I had his little head armor)

Alwin's had Shaulk for a quite a long while now. Don't let his age fool you though—Shaulk's still plenty fast, and more than capable of sharp turns and plunging dives at a moment's notice. A keen eye for sudden movement further makes him a formidable guardian of the village. A lightweight body and plenty of experience means that he glides effortlessly through the air, expending minimal energy.

Although he's certainly matured with the years, and frequently matches Alwin's own taciturn personality, Shaulk maintains a thrill for the chase that he's had ever since he was a fledgling. His specialty is to deter potential threats from the village with sweeping blasts of cold and clever manipulations of ice, covering a wide reach. For those more persistent intruders, Shaulk has a wicked dive bomb, and prefers to take the initiative in striking.

Moveset:

Freezing Burst — a sweeping blast of cold wind, packing considerable punch from an aggressive beat of deceptively delicate wings. Offers a wide range of deterrence while also keeping Shaulk on the wing. A favorite opener.

Silver Blast — a big breath of ice, made worse with added wind pressure from his beating wings.

Icicle Terror — generates and launches icicles over a large patch of ground. Cleaning them up is kind of a pain, though.

Cold Blast — gusts of cold air kicked up generally from his comings and goings. Shaulk uses sharp twists and turns to control where he sends them.

Vengeful Ice Drill — how fast can he spin? Very fast. The large amount of torque generated makes this a nasty finisher.

Sonic Strike T — a no-nonsense, fast and furious strike. Sharp talons and a hooked beak makes it hard to fend off.

Trivia:

Unfairly pretty in flight and absolutely knows it. A bit vain, actually.

Extremely popular with the village Paolumu. Uses it to his advantage to nap in a cloud of fluff. Alwin has long since given up trying to understand this.

His head armor was commissioned as a congratulatory gift on Alwin's ascent to the leader of Rutoh's guard. It matches the headdress that Alwin received at his own coming of age ceremony.

Shaulk's original head armor was actually damaged in an encounter with a rage-rayed Tigrex. However, Shaulk had been due a re-sizing anyway, so at least there was some silver lining to the incident.

About the cult: Vyffor hates them as well, but not as Zellard, the interactions they had were in my lil postgame story where Zellard didn’t “get the hint” from the Oltura fight & decided he must somehow try again but with a new plan, after he learnt that Vyffor is blessed by the forsaken god (Vakuum), he thought “Hmm, if he has such powerful powers of a god then if i will have control over him i might be able to force it out of him & create a new world to my will” & then he kidnapped Vyffor right in front of Cheval & Cheval tried to catch up but they were too quick for him so he asked from the crew (the crew in MHS2 is: Vyffor being the ‘leader’, Kyle, Cheval, Lilia, I might add Kayna in the future, Avinia, Reverto, Orgo, Tsukino, Navirou, Ena, Alwin, Losi, everyone’s monsties in general & Vakuum who is secretly hanging out with Vyffor because it’s against the laws of gods) for help, and then they went to rescue Vyffor (cuz lil guy can’t handle an entire cult of psychopaths all alone) & there they saw Zellard torturing Vyffor, like, hitting him, kicking him, harshly pulling the leash on him (they leashed him like they did to Losi), in short causing him a nightmare and pain, Zellard & the cult were fighting them & then Vyffor saw his friends were in danger & transformed into his Forsaken winged form (a wolf wyvern thing with chain, i posted it for the first time as design suggestion for someone who mad a pkmn xenoverse au) & killed the entire cult including Zellard the most brutal way ever & then went to the crew and lowered his head down as a way to ask for pats with a cute expression on his face, like he never killed an entire cult of psychopaths, Ena who didn’t want to end up killing Zellard nor anyone at all was horrified at the sight (even though it was her second time seeing this form of his) but she understood, if she was tortured like that she would also want to kill them, plus his cute face was convincing its justified

Alwin is one of my favorite characters in MHS2, he's so sweet and really smart, but also really dumb. He's gentle with Mc and caring towards Ena and the other people in his town.

I fell in love with him and his character as soon as he first appeared on screen.

He seems so mysterious, but he loves talking about Red (headcanon they were lovers at some point). He gives me gender envy with his androgynous design, I love this boi to the ends of the earth.

Progressing through my new file on MHS2 and it's only now I notice Alwin also does a fabulous pose in his Kinship Skill lol. Though the player version is a bit more dramatic, throwing their head back.

Also good job me, Sunbreak comes out for MH Rise, starts a new file on MH Stories 2 lol.

I will get Sunbreak sometime, but for now I'm really having a lot of fun replaying MHS2 (funnily enough, when MHS2's new content was being added I was playing Rise more, so I guess my brain just works weird.)

I can't believe I never noticed this in my first playthrough, but Alwin sure has big dad energy. Takes one look at the player character and just adopts them straight away lol. I didn't screenshot it, but he even gives a head pat in that cutscene.
