Fredrich had made his way to the breakfast table, rather later than he normally would. he had not want to fully wake up, in case the night before had been only a dream. a wonderful, life changing dream, but a dream none the less. that was until he saw her handkerchief on his bedside table. it had been real, and that made him smile, and ready to face the day. upon arriving at the table, he saw his sister and smiled  ❝guten Morgen❞ he sad down next to her  ❝what are you reading?❞

“i must admit,” daphne began as she approached the blonde. “you did not strike me as a person who stood to the side during a ball, your highness, and yet, here you are,“ her tone was light and teasing as she sought a distraction from her own thoughts, joining the princess’ side. “—how does the london ball compare?”

❝your majesty ❞ he bowed then smirked. ❝perhaps i am just better at hiding my behavior than some❞ he would never mention to anyone what happened with francesca. not because he was ashamed, but because he would never do anything to chance her reputation. ❝but in all i have been behaving myself. trying to be more than just "the merry rake"❞ if he ever had a chance of being with francesca, he had to change how the ton saw him. her eldest brother surely would not approve of a man with his reputation marrying his sister.

" well , if it isn't the merry rake , " the prussian princess grinned slightly as dark hues observed the male close by . she had heard rumours even back in prussia of the scottish male's reputation and alexandra could not help but curious . " i was sorely disappointed not to see a mention of you in lady whistledown . behaving yourself ? "

    “are you keeping out of trouble?” most would assume not to speak with a princess in such a manner, however, they had become accustomed over the years, to know when one was playing with the other. she placed some fresh pastries, fruit, and a drink in front of her with a smile. “if you are feeling up to it, there is a spread of more , shall we say , ‘posh’ foods in the other room.” she had placed these in front of her, thinking she would perhaps prefer breakfast in bed.

sun piqued through the curtains as elizabeth lazed across the silken sheets of her friends bed, there was no urgency, no cares, just basking in the morning warmth. a rustling of sheets had her blinking away the last remnants of sleep, waiting with bated breath for the incoming reaction. ❝ good morning. ❞

The festivities in full swing and she absentmindedly sat observing the ton. She had found herself a seat, taking a moment to recuperate from the dancing she had just taken part in. She knew such festivities were vital to finding a husband, something of which her family were pushing for. She wanted to do them proud, but marriage was not on her agenda, and she did not believe in a ‘love match’. She felt she would marry for convenience, for the sake of her parents and sister. She had lost hope in what many perceived as an ideal match. She once believed in it, but such things had been tarnished. She knew better than to be gullible, and instead, expected the worst to avoid disappointment. She would make such attempts to socialise on behalf of her sister, she would do anything to ensure she had time to find a love match.

Upon hearing her sister join her, Florence turned her attention and grinned, head tilting to the side to observe her. She hoped she was enjoying things, and that the ton were welcoming to her. “Isn’t it a delightful occasion? Many have come to celebrate together, which I think is fantastic.” @alvxvndra​

Eloise wasn't even sure how she was supposed to respond to that. "Uh..." She looked the other woman up and down quickly. "I mean. Yeah. Yeah I think so." She gave her a sheepish smile. Why was this so damn awkward?

This had been the night he had finally slept through, no momentary scares, no panic induced through dreams that peaked reality. For once, his mind was still, at ease; and he wondered if perhaps the company had soothed his tired and busy mind. He appreciated the company, for he felt alone a lot of the time, mind preoccupied by self-doubts, and yet when she was here, his mind was silent, still, composed; and he appreciated the peace she brought with her.

Eyes flickered open and observed things for a moment, the peace, silence which was surely welcomed and he only hoped remained. Ears peaked the sound of her voice, instinctively finding his lips curving into a smile as he rolled to face her.

"Forgive me, not one night of rest has come for so long, I did not remember true sleep until tonight."

alexandra could not help but shoot the beautiful female an amused grin . “ you’re awfully brave to be nagging to a princess . you’re a brave honigbienchen , aren’t you ? ” the prussian princess purred slightly as she watched the other like a cat watching a canary . “ i am certain that there is something you could do but it wouldn’t involve a beveridge . ” even though , alexandra was in a sort of relationship with libby , it did not mean she could not flirt . after all , perhaps she could introduce the young lady to libby .

the comments that fled from the female caused a roar of nerves in agnes’ stomach, however, she did best not to let it show. “i’d say i am insistent, not a nagger.” she retorted, a smirk raising to her lips. she slowly, and mockingly bowed to her. “your highness.” she spoke softly, a smirk lacing her lips as she moved to stand beside her. her comment caused a smirk to raise to agnes’ lips, eyebrows raising in amusement. “and what would that be exactly? i live to serve.”

the woman’s voice pulled daphne out of her head and back into reality. she turned to face the blonde and smiled, only now realising that she had been shivering in the chill night air. she couldn’t be certain how much time had passed nor how long the other woman had been standing there as she was much too preoccupied with her thoughts. “thank you very much,” she replied with a soft smile. it was a little embarrassing, to be caught lost in one’s own thoughts. she typically saved any introspection for when she was alone and could pace in her room until she grew tired. “that is quite generous of you, but i— are you sure you will be alright without a coat?”

Eloise nodded. She tried to put on her most confident stance and smiled at the other girl. She wasn't used to women being so forward with her. She didn't even know that women could think of one another like that. "I do. Much better than some of the men that are here."
