meeting up w/ boops + his gf was soooo nice. i was v nervous and jangly but the longer we spent together th emore i calmed down lol which is probably the correct way (imagine if it was the other way round lol)

Uh, not anymore unfortunately. When i was in middle school, i played basketball, volleyball, did cheerleading, and was in running club. In highschool, i did cross country in the fall, and i think that's it lol, since i was mostly obsessed with doing theatre lol. I realy liked building the sets and painting, and being on running crew lol. If i ever decided to join a sport, it would be either soccer or beach volleyball, since those seem the most fun. Surprisingly, yes. Uhhh, it's kinda complicated.

I like makeup as a concept of freedom of expression, feminity, a way of transforming yourself into a piece of art, blurring the lines between gender ideals, presentation, makeup for fantasy concepts, etc.

But i also dont't like makeup sometimes because it's def been used as a tool to pressure women into performative feminity, used, as a way to groom young girls, used a sneaky way of breaking down a lot of ppl's self confidence, it encourages highly unrealistic beauty standards (for both women and men), i also hate how motherfucking EXPENSIVE and unsustainable it is.

So as a tool for art, genderfuckery, and self-expression, i love it. But as a msrketing concept mostly driven by male CEOs and years and years of misogny and captialism? Not so much lol. I like wearing makeup for big occasions or for when i feel hyperfeminine some days, but I usually prefer going without it.

Well, I could be one of those queers who automatically says Halloween, but the more i think about it, i think i like the fall/halloween season waaayy more. Festivals!!!! I looooovee going to any type of market, festival, etc. with someone. I think it's a great way to explore, start conversations, and learn about someone. Cuz like, the type of art, food, trinkets, and music that draws someone in can you a lot about that person, if you think about it! It's hella cute. And then once you're tired of the crowds, most festivals usually have quiet garden or parks near them that you can escape to for some quiet time and deep conversations, lol.

pulitzer: tell about/link a piece where you felt your writing was the best.Honestly, I’m still pretty proud of Paths That Cross for the Yu-Gi-Oh! fanfic contest. It’s a friendship fic / character study. The writing is tight and polished, no unnecessary rambling, but there’s a lot of emotions and I feel it has good insight in both of the characters written about. Also very consistent feel. (the same criteria could probably be applied to Pushing Boundaries, which I love a lot as well, but since it’s longer it naturally suffers some in the polish department)My original work is often much less polished because I don’t put them up anywhere, so I don’t do so much editing. I think my favorite might be a short story about houses growing out of bodies, because the imagery on that is just so on point, and it has some really good use of repetition and wordplay that I only know how to do in Finnish. It would probably use some polish however.“Taloista tuliihmisten näköisiä ja kuuloisia. Joskus talot huokailivat, joskusvalittivat, muutaman kerran nauroivat ja aina välillä olivat aivanhiljaa. (this & this, and one other with Uffe/Vivek that’s buried somewhere in my drafts)

backstory: how did you come to love writing?Huh. I’m not sure. I’ve been writing actively since I was 8. I did enjoy getting that little “great” at the corner of every school project from my teacher and I did enjoy writing / talking about writing with my best friend, but mostly I was just so very enthusiastic about the ideas and the images and how I was able to translate them into words.

characterization: describe your favorite character(s) you’ve written.Oh probably Siv from my 2011 Nano. She was the ex-gf of the main character’s best friend, and since the novel was written in 1st person PoV her whole demeanor was tainted in the anger the MC felt towards her, it turned out to be a really interesting dynamic. I still need to get around to editing that beast into something readable though. :P(also I really love Konstantine from our rp, altho I haven’t technically written anything with him, except his 7 page bio)

faulkner: what tropes do you LOVE writing? which ones are your guilty pleasure?I can’t say fake dating since I’ve only ever written one fake dating fic, but I must say that’s a big one nevertheless. And that one fic was like 30k words so… I think I might have slotted myself into this “adults having frank conversations about their feelings and what family/friendship/love means to them” and “casual intimacy (mostly holding other people, but like sometimes just talking)” -place with the Boundaries fics but I can’t say I mind.My guilty pleasure is definitely angst and/or h/c, bc I get super-melodramatic so they often don’t see the light of day. I’m trying to tone it down so it doesn’t feel too out of place with all that sweet hand holding or whatever I get around to. :P These are all fic stuff. For original fiction body horror is where it’s at. Man I’m like two different writers between the two, haha.

houghton: what’s something you love that people compliment your pieces on?Honestly if there’s a sentence/a paragraph that really hits someone and they let me know, I’m so happy. Fic specific complimenting characterization (absolutely best is when my writing changes how someone views a character; A+, still can’t believe anyone has said that to me). I've got two dogs, Belle and Angel. They're both Staffordshire bull terriers and they are massive sweethearts that just want food, walks and cuddles. Lots and lots of cuddles. I've also got two cats (Freddie and Loki) and a snake (Riddle).

Oh wow, the snow sounds lovely. I think snow is beautiful, but we never really get any here, sadly. I'm sorry that it brings the crowds with it though. Snowy mountain walks with the dog sounds incredible, minus the rude people flouting the rules. The same kind of thing happens here, because we are right by the coast. So lots of people have flocked here, despite the restrictions. Which is selfish because 1. The rules exist for a reason 2. We have a high elderly population and 3. We have fewer medical resources than the more populated areas. I'm sick of people that think the rules don't apply to them and find it perfectly acceptable to put others at risk.

Sorry to hear that your dad is at high risk. I wish you and your family the best and hope you all manage to remain safe and well. It's such a scary time, especially when loved ones are at risk. I'm with my parents too and they're at high risk of catching it because of their occupations and I worry every time they go off to work. And my girlfriend has a host of medical issues that put her at high risk, so I'm just constantly worrying about her. And missing her like crazy, but I'd never forgive myself if I risked her health.

I have to be in the right mood.
