I have some ideas about big man and your ability to beat him in a fight and its all in my tags
Note: these incoherent ramblings are largely based on personal headcanons so sorry if this doesn't line up with your beliefs

Its been 4 days since SO and like heres my opinion:
- for not the best gamers/casual players the beginning will be a pain in the ass and become more fun with hacks later
- alternatively if you only do the easy levels on multiple runs because you suck it will get boring FAST, the issue of there being a set amount of levels is really noticeable if you only play easy levels
- did not remotely live up to the story/lore/atmosphere hype of the first trailer, i Understand the first trailer didn't even show any gameplay so as makes sense. but the art really gave such an edgy atmosphere and made people think of such more scary ideas that were not there, some art felt isolating to me, the theory of Splatoon 3 polution and nuclear waste???? Salmonid lore??? None of that was there.
- one of the most eery things are the audio files of some bosses, see here
- it's fun and sure not all splatoon story needs to have, much story or lore but it really was what I was looking forward to and what OE and ROtM did right to me. In ROtM the last extra entry felt like real pay off but the extra entries in SO? Didn't answer any of my burning questions, and if youre into Acht the way they misstranslated (I think it was atleast, maybe they just updated their lore) in the NA localization fucks up their character (also why are you pale)
-Agent 4 mention was so miniscule </3 had expectations for a bit more, maybe actual Feature
-pearlina is so canon and I nevr was a shipper of them it's just undeniable
Also I've got all the gear with prlz and all hacks I care for and the DLC has been out less than a week meanwhile I don't think I've ever even had 20 golden scales in all of SR. A few people are hoping chance of another story DLC and idk if I see that happening but I was also hoping for that at one point </3
Tl,dr: bit fun, wish it was more edgy with more lore

So...
If you have seen my post about making a Salmonid Conlang, (which I deleted the file for to start over. don't worry, I haven't abandoned it.) I confess that my ambitions went beyond that.
Succinctly, I want to construct a Salmonid conlang, an Octarian conlang, and finally, a Mixed Language of the two. also, I want to create an Inkling conlang because it felt criminal to leave them out.
Now here's where it confuses me. predictably the Octarian conlang and Salmonid conlang are spoken by their respective species. this I find plausible due to the cultural and geographic barriers involved between the two parties. But this also takes place in a head canon alternate universe of mine. one where the Octarians and Salmonids collaborated on a project together.
That project being the combining of their respective biology. inspired by a post by @5tell4r, the Octarians managed to do just that, bringing into existence what you would know as "Salmonlings".
Long story short. the Octarians kept these Salmonlings on a research outpost that bordered on Salmonid territory. it is here that they were educated in the ways of both peoples, including their languages. Thus, what I call the Octo-Salmon language came to be. Due to competent teaching from both parties, it is thus a mixed language that combines phonological, grammatical, syntactic, and other features of both languages.
I also have an idea for story about a team of Salmonlings leaving the outpost to be the first of their kind to visit Inkopolis and/or Splatsville. They would slip into their native tongue - the Octo-Salmon language - when they get excited. but that's a story for later.
Like I stated above. to create this Octo-Salmon language I need to:
Create a Salmonid language
Create an Octarian language
Combine the two.
despite my deleting of the former, I am well on my way to creating the first one. the second one is more of a challenge mentally. and the third step is sure to be interesting.
Wish me luck, and till next time... ;).

but humans are so incredibly WEAK. i mean, one strike to the head or torso and you've already won, so why would you prefer those fragile vertebrates over other lifeforms? (🐙)
There’s a gradual clicking, escalated to a groaning— that of stressing metal. Paper crinkles.
“What a rude question. You should be grateful that you even have this opportunity to communicate with me. Tsk tsk.”
“Your attempt at antagonism is…
[CALCULATING EFFECTIVENESS OF PROVOCATIVE STIMULI:
24% SUCCESS
CONCLUSION: FAILURE]
… charming, at best.”
“You claim that humans are incredibly weak, downed by just one jab to the torso or the head, but I would strongly encourage you to look inwards. You Inkfish combust if you are submerged in water, despite the fact that your common ancestor is a squid, a marine life form. On top of that, your mobility is severely hindered if you so much as step foot in ink of a different color.”
Tumblr media
“I would also like to point out that you mostly lack true lethal force and stick most strictly to ink-based weaponry. You also generally lack the self-preservation instincts of your predecessors now that you’ve gotten so used to the hectic and thrilling life of the surface. If the respawn points became faulty and broke down, Turf War wouldn’t be so much of a game anymore, would it?”
Its chair creaks as it sounds to be leaning back slightly.
“My point is: people who live in glass houses should not be throwing stones.”
“I would argue the weaknesses of your species are far more easily exploitable. The humans were on the top of the food chain for a reason. You were simply lucky enough to end up in a position where they they could no longer contest you. But that doesn’t give you passage to laze and play around.”
“There’s always a bigger fish.”
Tumblr media
“Besides, what would the alternatives be, if not humans, hm? Jellyfish? Salmonids? Birds? Inklings and Octolings?”
The bubbling of a thick fluid is heard through the radio again.
“Your species does have potential, yes, I would be a fool to deny that. But bringing the humans back is of utmost importance to me, for reasons that I’ve outlined previously. Once my mission is complete, Inkfish and humans shall be together. All in due time…”

"Undertow Spillway?! You're certain?!" Salomon exclaimed.
"Yes, milord, there's been movement reported there. And it's not from the common jellyfish visitors either. It's a salmon scent."
"This is bad..."
"Why so?" Mirage asked. "It's another Turf Stage like any, right?"
Salomon shook his head. "Not quite. You kids don't know it, because it's not common knowledge among Inklings....but Undertow is a relic from the old world, you see. The one with humans. Your mother had informed me as such."
"It's...a human structure...?"
"Yes. But not just any structure. It was a sluice gate. Meaning that its entire purpose is to control the flow of water."
"Ah...!"
"In other words, a tragedy waiting to happen." Salmon scratched his chin. "I highly doubt the rebels know this, but in case they discover it...we need to locate the control room and protect it at all costs. If they manage to power it up and start it..."
"All those Inklings and Octolings will be wiped out without a trace, Cod....alright, Dad. I got it."
"Mirage-"
"I'm...the heir to the kingdom. I can't just sit aside and watch it happen. Besides, that's a ton of people in danger if I don't do something."
"I really don't want you to go in there. But...I can see your mind is made up. Hah. You're stubborn just like your old man."
"Please." They rolled their eyes, leaving the war room.
Mirage couldn't focus anyway. Not after the conversation Minu had with them.
-
"Minu, what do you mean 'this wasn't supposed to happen'? Cruesa is safe, isn't that all that matters?"
"If only it was that simple, squid jerky." The young Inktoling shook her head. "See, time is so incredibly delicate Mirage. If you were to go back in time and kick a rock down a sidewalk, you could completely alternate the course. That rock could've changed history to where the Octolings won the Great Turf War."
"Is it THAT complicated...?"
"Trust the girl that comes from a time where time traveling is commonplace." She huffed, pointing her finger aggressively at them. "Yes, it's that complicated. Papa and Mama have warned me that if things aren't correct, it can wreck the flow of time. And Cruesa being home, in that room....it's all wrong!"
"Explain to me how it is. What's supposed to happen then?" Mirage asked in annoyance.
"....Fine, if it'll get the barnacles off my back." Minu sighed. "Originally, what had occurred, was that Cruesa up until this point was supposed to remain in the custody of the rebel Salmonids. You, around this time, would go off into Undertow Spillway charging headfirst into the army, Tristringer ablazing. You would get injured. So much so that you would receive a scar on your right eye that would remain for the rest of your life."
"What....?"
"But you wouldn't stop. You would beat down Cruesa's older brothers, and then make your way to their base of operations alone, and free Cruesa yourself. With brute force, might I add."
"C-Cod...I was going to do all that...?"
"Yep. They called it 'The Crusade of Monarch Mirage' in stories. Cruesa would end up back with us, but...one, that scar, and two..."
"What??"
"...We would lose the spillway. The rebels discovered a deadly tactic that wiped out every single employee in there. They all died."
"!" Mirage couldn't believe what they were hearing. They would get Cruesa back...but at the cost of Undertow?
"It's gruesome, I know, but that's the way history went. Until now. And now I hear of Cruesa being helped out of her imprisonment...it has to be them...."
"'Them'? What do you mean? There's someone behind this?"
"More like an organization. People from the SCTT- the Sealife Counsel of Time Traveling- call them the Mystics."
"Mystics?"
Tumblr media
"The Mystics believe differently from us. They believe that they can alter history, change the course of time without any severe repercussions." Minu explained. "Somehow, they travel through time, and change things. Even the littlest things. It's like...they know something we don't....but it's still such a dangerous practice!"
"So you're saying a...mystic...changed the course of time? One where I don't run headfirst into battle and almost kill myself?"
"Yeah. And I'll admit...this whole Cruesa returning now did seem to go positively..."
"Then what exactly is the problem? These Mystics didn't cause any detrimental harm, right? Cruesa's back, I don't go get a scar, and I'm here to support Inkopolis! Isn't this good? Why are you saying it's bad?!"
"It's bad, Mirage, because it's messing with things that have already occurred. Yes, it looks good now, it's positive FOR NOW, but there's a butterfly effect, a ripple on the water's surface! Though one good thing happens now, another tragedy could happen later!"
"Listen. As long as Cruesa is safe, and the Undertow is protected, and the kingdom prospers, I don't care who made it so. Ghosts or whatever the hell. I'm going."
"M-Mirage! Take this more seriously! MIRAGE!" Minu shouted after them, growling in anger once they left the room.
"....Believe me, Squid Ring, I'd love to rely on these guys more than anything. But....the last time was messed with too much....M....Mama...."
Minu clasped the shark keychain hanging from her belt.

My Drizzle Season '23 Predictions pt. 1: Probable Assumptions
I have some ideas for what may happen in the next season that I'm gonna prattle off now. I literally have a checklist in my notes app to go through and check things I got right later.
If you don't follow dataminers, this contains a few spoilers for known potential future updates (there is NO Side Order datamine info here, don't worry!).
● Side Order released close to or even simultaneously with the update, or at least more information revealed in September's Direct(?). Or... literally anything about Side Order, really. Little surprise scene at the end of the season trailer (if they do one), maybe in a similar cryptic style to what we saw in the original Side Order teaser? ● New octoling hairstyles, possibly introduced in a customization screen in Side Order and then usable in multiplayer, at least by DLC owners. ● Salmon Run "Underground" mode finally added. ● Boss Salmonids "Balloon" "Wheel" "Ghost" implemented. • "Balloon" "Wheel" and "Ghost" possibly Underground exclusive. • Alternate theory: "Balloon" "Wheel" and "Ghost" are not regular bosses- they could be for some sort of brand-new (and *also* potentially Underground exclusive?) Night Waves. ● King Salmonid "BigBalloon" finally implemented and introduced this Big Run. • "Balloon" and "BigBalloon" turn out to actually be different size+strength versions of the same kind of creature, just like how their internal names make it sound. ● A new King AND another SR stage. (Dataminers already know all S2 stages are coming back- with how much longer the game is said to be being updated for, they won't all fit if the alternating 'new stage, then no new stage' pattern continues.) ● New Hotlantis items. I don't think they've ever added new decorations/stickers apart from the catalog unlockables so the anniversary would be a nice time to add some. ● New weapon in the Stringer class, or DEFINITELY a new Tri-Stringer kit. ● Possible reveal of Deep Cut amiibos at some point. Surely it's going to happen eventually, and around the anniversary would be a great time. ● Some sort of substantial gift for the 1-year anniversary (gear?), given either through a QR code, or the terminal will have it waiting for you automatically upon installing the update. ● Splatoween Fest in October, 100%! Topic possibly something like different types of monsters.
Or something like Scary, Funny, Cute Costumes, probably in that order. • Gear from S2 like the devil horns make a comeback, AND brand new gear is made? The idea of the theme being costumes would be fun here because the new gear could have cutesy accessories, some more creepy/edgy things, some goofy stuff. Maybe they instead squeeze Cosplay in as one of the three options and they could have gear referencing other Nintendo games? Iunno. ● Much more gear than previous seasons, because anniversary + making up for how Sizzle '23 didn't seem to give us anything outside the catalog and SR monthly gear.
● Noticeably more new kits than previous seasons, because anniversary. ● Another significant change/addition to the Shell-Out Machine that makes everyone's seeds change again. ● Gold Dynamo finally? ● Balance: Brella buffs finally?
● Return of gear abilities: Damage Up or Main Power Up, Bomb Sniffer, Cold-Blooded. ● Return of Specials: Any Bomb Rush/Launcher, Stingray, Bubble Blower, Baller. Or another brand new Special like Super Chumps were? ● Splashdown added to multiplayer. ● Some other Hero weapon(s) added somewhere, somehow.

Splatoon 2 Basic Glossary
Tumblr media
So, you just started reading Ebb & Flow and you have no idea what the fuck Splatoon 2 is? Well, you’re in luck, because here is a handy rundown of basic Splatoon 2 knowledge!
Thank you for reading Ebb & Flow! Enjoy!
What is Splatoon 2?
Splatoon 2 is the sequel to the Wii U game Splatoon. Yes, a creative title, but we can forgive Nintendo for it, since the quality of the game makes up for it. The game got released on July 21st 2017 for the Nintendo Switch family (as in Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite and Nintendo Switch OLED). It’s Nintendo’s version of a 3rd person post-apocalyptic shooter game, but without the gruesomeness of a usual post-apocalyptic shooter. After all, Nintendo needs to retain its family friendly brand!
So instead of a war-like shooting game, this game is all about ink! Squid ink, to be more specific. You play as a squid-like character (called Inklings) and you use several weapons to shoot/distribute colourful ink. You are bound to the colour of the ink. You can shoot and store your colour and also swim in it to make speed or to refill your ink tank. If you are in the enemy’s colour ink, you get hurt and if an enemy shoots you with the other colour, you get “splatted” and you need to respawn.
(Fun fact, the initial concept was tofu characters instead of sea creatures!)
Basically, there are different ways to play it. Most of them get mentioned in the fic, but you don’t actually need to know a lot about it. I do namedrop things, hence this glossary, but I don’t go super in-depth about the gameplay. (Or so I think.)
There is a single player story mode. This is a classic RPG where you traverse through levels and beat bosses. This one does not get mentioned in the fic, since it’s a solo thing.
Salmon Run. Here you pair up with 3 other people to defeat a bunch of rouge Salmon-like enemies (Salmonids) who want to steal Golden Eggs. It’s basically Splatoon 2′s version of an shoot out where you have to defeat zombies or something. This doesn’t get mentioned either, which is a shame, since this is my favourite mode.
Turf Wars. Two teams of 4 vs. 4 have to cover as much ink of a stage as possible. The team that inks the most, wins. Kurt and Blaine play this for Splatfests (we’ll get to those).
Tower Control / Clam Blitz / Rainmaker / Splat Zones. These are four game modes where two teams of 4 vs. 4 have to fight against each other in a certain mini game. Tower Control needs you to ride a tower to the enemy’s base. Clam Blitz is, I suppose, some sort of basketball. Rainmaker needs you to transport a weapon to the enemy’s base. Splat Zones need you to cover a specific zone with ink for the longest time. You can play these as Ranked Battles and League Battles. Kurt and Blaine play a lot of League Battles, since you can choose your team or duo. These game modes alternate each other. There’s always one in Ranked and one in League and it changes every 2 hours.
Octo Expansion. Another extra single player mode. Only gets mentioned once in passing.
What is Splatoon 2 even about?
I redirect you to this nice video.
youtube
You don’t really need the storyline of the game for the fic, since that’s in the single player story mode and Kurt and Blaine don’t play that in the fic, but if you’re interested, you should give it a watch. Beware of spoilers, though!
Splatfests
A Splatfest is a special event that happened every month. Players can choose between two choices in a category (Chicken vs. Egg, Ketchup vs. Mayo, Dog vs. Cat etc.) and then those two groups battle in Turf Wars to see which side has won. A special stage is made for each Splatfest and you get extra gear. The two Off the Hook hosts (we’ll get there) represent a side. It is always seen as a big in-game party with the Off the Hook hosts giving a concert wearing specific outfits. Player characters dance around and wave banners with player-made art etc. It’s honestly pretty fun.
The Splatfests mentioned in Ebb & Flow were real, and I used them to keep track of the timeline. You can see an overview of all Splatfests here.
Weapons, gear, stages
Don’t worry about these! I name dropped them for fun. I did put some thought in what weapons they’d use for each game mode (i.e. Kurt’s Carbon Roller is definitely for Turf Wars only), but it doesn’t really impact the story.
Tumblr media
Each weapon has a main weapon, a sub weapon and a special weapon. The main weapon is what it says on the tin, a sub weapon is an extra thing like bombs, and a special is a big game changer that needs to be charged during the game. So when the fic mentions things like the Baller or Tenta Missles etc., those are special weapons. That’s all you gotta know, I guess.
I put zero (0) thought in what gear Kurt and Blaine wear. Gear is, in gamer language, the armour. It brings extra stats and abilities, but I stopped myself from losing myself into the world of Splatoon 2 gear, especially since I am like Kurt and I use the gear for aesthetics only. I have no clue what abilities etc. are out there. I did a bit of research for this fic, but that’s it and I didn’t really put it in the story anyway. All you need to know is that in the Splatoon series, there are a lot of in-universe brands and Kurt, as a fashion lover, likes this extra layer to gear.
Stages are where the games take place. I often picked the stages that were actually happening at the time of writing. All you need to know is that stages change periodically, which is why Kurt and Blaine sometimes wait for a certain stage. Current stages with its accompanying game mode always get announced when you start the game, which leads to...
Off the Hook
An unskippable intro! It happens every time you start the game. It’s a TV show format and the two hosts Pearl and Marina announce the stages, whether Grizzco is open for Salmon Run, and extra news like patches or upcoming Splatfests. Kurt loves reading the news every time (as do I). Blaine wishes he could do without. Boo, Blaine, boo!
Tumblr media
Competitive Splatoon 2
It is quite funny that so much about this fic is about Competitive Splatoon 2, since it is actually quite difficult to learn about it if you’re not part of this world. And I am not part of this world. Kurt’s probably a better player than I am.
Basically, like other Nintendo games, it is possible to play Splatoon 2 as an eSport. You create a team and start to train. Like I said, I don’t know enough on how you can get to a competition, but there are big and small tournaments, with the biggest one being hosted by Nintendo itself: the World Championship. There, teams from Asia, Europe, North-America and Oceania are fighting for the title of World Champion.
If you are reading this right at the beginning of Ebb & Flow, then here is a small spoiler for you. I know I said it was going to be spoiler-free, but alas, have this. Blaine has tickets for the World Championship of 2018. This too was a real event. The semi-finale and finale are on YouTube. The finale is here:
youtube
You can watch this if you want to know what a game looks like. When you do, skip to 29:09 to see one of the best plays ever!!! I did actually write some plays from competitions into the fic.
The music
Yeah, so, the music of this game is amazing on its own and one of the reasons it works so well is because there is an in-universe explanation for why the music is like this. There are multiple styles, because there are multiple in-universe bands. Ink Theory does experimental jazz, Diss-Pair loves adding EDM and metal elements to their songs, Chirpy Chips live up to their name with chiptune music, Bottom Feeders mix pop rock with sea shanties, ω-3 does whatever the fuck they’re doing, and so on, and so on.
And yes, I will point this out in the actual fic, because I don’t even know much about music, but Blaine does, and I assume he has an absolute field day with all this information.
Anyway, my favourite band is Wet Floor. Stan Wet Floor.
Oh and remember Off the Hook? They are also a girl group. One of their songs, Ebb and Flow, is the inspiration behind the title.
youtube
I listened a lot to the soundtrack while writing it. It’s really upbeat and if there’s some singing, it’s in a made-up squid language. Nintendo is aware of the music’s popularity. As a result it even hosts hologram concerts for Off the Hook and the Squid Sisters (the hosts from the first Splatoon game).
youtube
This particular concert even has K.K. Slider from Animal Crossing as an opening act!
Why Splatoon 2?
Why indeed. All I can say is that I love this game a lot and I saw reasons for Kurt and Blaine to like it. It’s a fun game and I think a lot of people will enjoy it. The music and gear felt like an added bonus. And to be honest, should there be a reason? I just thought to myself “what if Kurt and Blaine meet through Splatoon 2?” and here we are.
I didn’t pick the first Splatoon since I never played it, and Splatoon 3 only got announced last year and it’ll be released in September 2022. Oh, and like I mentioned, all the events mentioned are real, so Splatoon 2 also made the most sense for a fic set in 2018. Splatoon 2 got updated a lot in its 5 year lifespan, so I did have to let go of some game things that weren’t out yet in the time the fic takes place (one day, Kurt will get a Kensa Splatterscope), but again, you don’t need to know that for the fic.
So why Splatoon 2?
Why not.
Tumblr media
I hope you enjoy!

A4, B9, C3, D10
~
Worldbuilding starts with you! (Ask prompt)
A4: What are is one of the most dangerous areas in your setting? How so?
I already answered this one!
B9: Are there any taboos that exist for the major races or species? What are they and what consequences does one suffer for dabbling in them?
There are a few things that will upset the average Salmonid and will get you in bad spirits with an entire school, the biggest one is probably not eating the food you were offered. I’ve talked about this in “clean your plate” before! Since food is such a major part of their culture, it’s a direct insult to the cook to not eat what they gave you.
Another taboo is that you should never harvest from a grave garden unless you are a part of the family of the Salmonid buried there. The care and harvest of these gardens is considered the responsibility of the school and family.
Touching a Goldie’s head is considered taboo, as is touching their scales without permission. If you don’t accept a gift of scales (or other gifts) from a Goldie, it’s considered extremely rude.
Otherwise, common taboos are fairly similar to our own, such as not killing each other.
C3: What methods of transportation are most common?
Most commonly, waterways! Rivers, streams, lakes, the ocean, etc. Swimming is their most effective means of travel, as nearly every Salmonid is capable of it. It’s faster than walking in a lot of cases, especially when swimming with currents.
Some alternate forms of travel include the use of cars--usually similar to the Scrapper vehicles we see during Salmon Run. There’s also the use of gushers, which uses pressurized ink to zip Salmonids through tunnels; however I think this method of transportation isn’t preferred, due to the fact that Salmonids can’t breathe in ink, and must hold their breath. At least this mode of transportation is quick!
There’s also the use of motherships and crates, however I think that’s strictly for combat and produce shipment purposes.
D10: What sort of currency or bartering system exists?
This is another thing I’ve touched up on in the past, but I’ll talk about it a little more here, too. Salmonids primarily have a trade and bartering system, relying very, VERY little on currency. Many schools in the Salmonid community don’t even CONSIDER a currency, and may not understand it at first when going somewhere that strictly uses currency, rather than trading. Cultural shock when in Inkopolis and the sort.
Salmonids will trade their crops, crafts, handiwork, tools--anything valuable that they make or have--for other goods and services. This falls in line with the fact that they have a trade deal with the Octarians, exchanging their Power Eggs (and produce) for the Octarian’s blueprints, technology, and scrap metal.
Helping each other is paramount in Salmonid culture, so trading something for “money” rather than tools or food is a little bit strange in their eyes. Why go through the middle man of a currency, when you can just trade some corn and peas for some chicken meat? Why nickel and dime someone who’s clearly in need of a new frying pan?
It’s not perfect, and there are some Salmonids that may ask for more than their item is worth, but it works quite well for the Salmonids, and helps with communication.

2 more things i noticed about Splatoon 3, both relating to the Smallfry companion
Observation 1) Ocean Phase Salmonids
Tumblr media
[Image Desctription: Above is the official model of the Smallfry enemy from Splatoon 2, a fishlike creature with pale red spots on certain parts of its body. Below is a screenshot taken from the February 17th Splatoon 3 trailer that depicts a version of the Smallfry without any noticable red spots. End ID]
Tumblr media
Taking a look at the little buddy vs the average Smallfry, they seem to lack the red bits on its body, most noticably on their and back nose. Since the reddish salmonid we're more aquainted with are based on salmon in their spawning phase (the time at the end of their life cycle where they swim upstream to make tons of babies), these new guys are probably a for more tame, less animalistic form based on a salmon's ocean phase! However, now i'm worried about what'll happen to these little guys and their cephalopod allies once they reach full maturity. It is apparently canon that Inklings eat Salmonid despite both being species of similar intelligence...perhaps a Salmonid's last role as an Inkling's companion is to become a tasty meal...? Food for thought (pun absolutely intended)!
Observation 2) Salmonid Companion Alternatives
Tumblr media
[Image Description: Above is official artwork used to promote the Chaos vs Order Splatfest that took place in Splatoon 2. The artwork depicts many characters from the Splatoon francise representing their chosen team, most relavent characters for this topic being the Salmonids who chose team Chaos, Marina and the Octotroopers who chose team Order, and Mr. Grizz, who isn't loyal to either side. End ID]
(Warning, this section is less of a fun fact and more just ranty speculation, h) Although everyone seems excited for our adorable new Smallfry companion, myself included, we still have very little knowledge on what their role is gameplay-wise and how it'll effect pre-existing game modes. Most obvious is Salmon Run, which was one of, if not the most highly praised editions Splatoon 2 added to the franchise. There's no way the Splatoon team would just get rid of such a beloved feature, right? Considering Mr. Grizz himself was neutral in the Chaos vs Order Splatfest, the winner likely dictated what new goal he'll be hiring the player to help him achieve. Perhaps he'll have us fight off the sanitized Octarians, or even a brand new opponent all together! As for my next point, what would he filling the role of the Salmonid had team Order won that Splatfest? It still could've been Salmonid since, like i said, Mr. Grizz was neutral, but i highly doubt that. Another possibilty is some sort of robot companion, like a modified Squee-G or Octopod, perhaps even being manufactured by Marina! However, what i feel to be slightly more likely is some form of Octotrooper. Not just were Octotroopers part of team Order, but having more of Octarian society and culture mix in with the Inklings sounds like the kind of world Marina would want to create.
All that being said, i love our new Salmonid buddy and can't wait to see what their presence means for the future of Splatoon!!!
(Also, please gimme some feedback if i missed anything, if you have any ideas you want to add, and ESPECIALLY if i messed anything up with the image IDs!)

Oh yeah, some points I want to point out that I got now the
By "Splatoon has currently not handled the salmonids as a people in a good way" is that we have not seen much of the world from the salmonids point of view and their feelings on their problems. We got plenty of stuff from the octarian point of view in the modes featuring them, even in Splatoon 1 where the were just enemies.
I think propaganda (and some neutral sources) from just one side is not that well done when handling the salmonids or enemies that we know are sentient and violently discriminated against. Especially since we know Splatoon can pull off showing the perspective of the enemies! They did with the octarians!
The other thing about them not handling it well was the splatoon playing into the harmful trope of savage indigenous people with their (unintentional probably) coding of the salmonids. They should have thought it through better.
Yes, it's natural to connect and take inspiration the real world cultural depictions of salmon when making a group of salmon people. But they should have thought through that together with the other traits of the salmonids can play into a harmful trope.
But yeah. I think they can fix things in the future. They can address the trope and maybe do something to prove it wrong, you know? And as part of a major beat in a story mode, so people can't just ignore and keep thinking in terms of this harmful trope.
Or alternatively, I hope they have a point with not giving us the salmonids' view on things the same way they gave us the octarians view of things. Like: "Even though you don't understand these the way you do your neighbors or the way you view other outsiders to your community, they still deserve respect and are just as hurt by your violence as people you understand better." Something like that.
But we'll have to see what they do. It might take them longer to make the point of "they're also people like you!" that they made with Octo expansion and Marina's role as an announcer in Splatoon 2. I don't like that it's taking them longer, but I hope they put in more effort with salmonids to humanize* them in the eyes of both the players and the society living in the Splatlands and Inkopolis
*(to be clear, not like actually make them look more human in anatomy, but in the metaphorical and emotional sense)
no nuance just yes or no, but say your reasoning in the notes if you want

Last time on Syer's Rebellion:
The Neo Squid Sisters and the Syer's Siblings split up with the Neo Squid Sisters continuing their concert tour southwest to New Orleans while Sandra and James continue leading the rebellion in the Central US Theater.
The Rebellion has managed to march their way to the Black Hills, gaining allies and advantages from malicious acts made by President Howe. Thus, they've easily surrounded the Splat-Coats around the Black Hills with the states in this theater having their favor in the Revolution. A victory in the Black Hills would mean half of the United States rising against President Howe. Before Sandra and James can start a battle that would bring an easy win, a familiar face appeared before Sandra, Telemachus.
Fort Laramie - Wyoming, United States of America - 4:05 PM
Sandra and James bring Telemachus back to the tent so that the Agent can explain himself.
"What are you doing here!?" Sandra is surprised. "How did you even--?"
"Neo-Squidbeak Splatoon has its own fleet, remember?" Telemachus folds his arms and shook his head. "They're docked at a port in Galveston Bay, Texas. Dicorus was generous enough to drop me and Celeste of in New Orleans." His explanation indicated at the fleet meet Dicorus's Fleet at the Panama Canal.
"So this is Agent 7's son?" James asked Sandra.
"Ehh...?" Telemachus knows that Agent 7 is his father, but he is illegitimate. "She told you that?"
Sandra sheepishly scratched the back of her head, regretting that she told James that.
Sandra then wondered about Celeste. "Where is Celeste by the way?"
"We managed to find the Neo Squid Sisters and a few others in New Orleans. They told me Pyrrhus, Emerald, and Sapphire are here," Telemachus explained, "Celeste and Kitzeh decided to stay to offer protection for Camille and Nebula."
"That's good," James commented.
"Nebula then told me you are with your brother, leading a revolution. Sandra, it's great you found your family, but Agent 7 and Circe miss you. Come back," Telemachus demanded.
Sandra didn't know how to answer; she hasn't felt at home living in Inkopolis, and Agent 7 and Circe never treated her enough like parents. James can see the hesitation and intervenes.
"I wish she could, but she has to stay here, the rebellion already looks up to her," James defended.
Telemachus calculated in his head the consequences that'll be made if Sandra deserted the Revolution. He steps back and turns around.
"I still need to follow Agent 7's orders... but if it means to help the rebellion, very well." Telemachus shook his head. "What is going wrong in this country?"
"Ever since President Howe and her administration came to power, they started perverting the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. They imposed, a steampunk movement and hoarded advance technology for the government. And don't get me started on her treatment of the people." James slammed his fist on the table.  "Her administration has abused Democracy for malicious intent, letting bakers run our country."
"Hmmm... I see..." Telemachus then noticed where their next battle is taking place. "You do realize the Black Hills are sacred, right?"
"We know that," Sandra acknowledged, "But if we put down the Splat-Coats here, all the Splat-Coats in the Great Plains will have to retreat to the East Coast."
"And Texas, Hawaii, and Alaska will rejoin in favor of the Revolution." James looked eager to end this.
"When will this battle commence?" Telemachus took a closer look at the battle plans.
"In three hours, Thunderbird has already deployed early to skirmish," James answered,"We expect this battle to end in tomorrow morning without a struggle."
Three hours later...
James and Pyrrhus have left -- with Telemachus joining them-- leading Coyote-Stallion on the ground raids. Sandra and Sapphire have yet to deploy and lead Peacemaker. The camps were already taken down and packed up for the trip to the Black Hills. Going on foot would have their army arrive late, and going by bike would almost make Peacemaker late. Sandra made the alternative to bring the army in the same route as Coyote-Stallion and stop at a memorial by carrier jeeps and go to the Black Hills from there by armored carrier vehicles prepared by James. It took half an hour to contact him through a cell-phone.
Route from Fort Laramie to Crazy Horse Memorial, United States of America - 5:35 PM
On the way to the memorial, Sapphire and Sandra had this conversation in one of the carrier vehicles. Sandra started it off with a question -- one relating around Sapphire, Pyrrhus, and Camille.
((In this part of the chapter, Sandra is narrating again.
Author's note: Like the back story, I developed for Camille, the timeline of the relationship between Camille and Sapphire is considered canon to my timeline only and is questionable towards the following users involved. In addition, this may change.  ))
The carrier jeep that Sapphire and I were in was driving at an average speed; it was enough to get us to the memorial. While the jeeps were moving, I wanted to know more of Camille's friends. And judging from what I saw between Pyrrhus, Camille, and her, I want to know what was going on between them.
"The first time I saw you, I've noticed something between you and Pyrrhus," I confessed, "And I already know Pyrrhus was probably a past boyfriend of Camille."
I first noticed this from the first concert back in San Francisco with Sapphire and Pyrrhus meeting face-to-face. They both looked hostile and it showed when Pyrrhus left the backstage and Sapphire followed him. And soon, I keep seeing those two meet together and talking about... something.
Before I can ask my question, Sapphire looked uncomfortable and embarrassed, but at the same time, she sounded annoyed by the fact I was monitoring this. Yet, she allowed me to continue.
"What about it?" She replied.
"Are you jealous that Camille is with Pyrrhus?" I asked.
This question caught Sapphire's attention, but she reacted negatively by turning her hands into fists. I should apologize while I have the chance, but my curiosity got the better of me.
"...Did something happen between you two?" I sat closer to her, prepared to comfort her if she broke down.
And the answer I got, surprised me. She sighed and looked down at her hands.
"Camille and I used to have something." Sapphire put her hands together. "She was very kind to me and we've been hanging out a lot... and then there was one winter..." Sapphire then frowned. "...I wish it would've lasted longer, but she belongs in the race tracks."
"Oh... I'm sorry for asking, it's just that you and Pyrrhus have this... rivalry going on--" Sapphire correct me on my assumption.
"We don't... I just didn't know Camille moved on with someone else." Sapphire looked at me. "I already accepted her choice, and I didn't want to upset her."
I can understand why she just didn't step in and tell Pyrrhus that Camille is hers. She's shy, but despite that, Sapphire looks out for Camille. And where Sapphy is shy and protective, Pyrrhus is somewhat chivalrous and devoted. Seeing Pyrrhus around Camille, other than what I've seen between them back on the Shinkiro, they seem like a couple. However, Camille told me back in San Francisco that this relationship wasn't a big deal. And I assumed they'll go their separate ways when they return to Inkopols, but they'll still be friends though,  I just know it. I can't help but agree with Sapphire: Camille loves racing.
"Do you think you'll get the chance to get together with Camille again if you had that chance?" It was a stupid question to ask, but I asked it anyway.
And Sapphire shook her head at me. I'll take that as a no.
Then about an hour and a quarter later, our army reach the memorial. In front of us is a sculpture that representing the model of what was supposed to be carved into the mountain: a man on a horse pointing into the distance. I've read something about the man on that horse; I can only remember the name: Crazy Horse.
Looking at the mountain where the memorial was supposed to be, only the head, arms, and shoulders were complete. The horse has yet to be sculpted.
Soldiers from the Peacemaker army managed to collect documents and information about the Crazy Horse Monument. When I read them I learned that the monument was in honor of a warrior who leads a people called the Lakota to fight encroachments from the U.S. Government. The construction the memorial started in 1948 and has been far from completion until now; the construction was abandoned.
There was no time to explore this unfinished monument as my brother managed to send the armored carried for me, Sapphire, and the Peacemaker army. In just a few minutes we were on the road again.
Another hour passes, and in twelve minutes, Sapphire and I can already hear cannons fire and ink drop splattering all over the place. Then there were the shouts of inklings and octolings and the clanking and hissing of inkomatons. Speaking of the inkomatons, I can even hear the steampunk stuff breaking apart.
When the carriers stopped the doors were opened and the army and we had to get out immediately and fight. Out there, the outcome was expected; the Splat-coats were already losing the ground. I can see the humanoid Salmonid, Chris Zorin, already fighting in a blaze of glory with just 25 men forming a square; they splatted in seconds. Pyrrhus and James were already splatting another Splat-Coat commander, running him over with one of the steampunk automobiles. Telemachus had some officer apprehended for James to interrogate. Their Coyote-Stallion army was tearing down Splat-Coat settlements. All me and Sapphire had to do was lead Peacemaker army to drive the Splat-Coats east. In the sky, however, the Splat-Coats are still struggling -- those soldiers of President Howe had some help from a certain inkomaton: an Angel.
The inkomaton has all too human with metal angelic wings. It was dressed in a simple white tunic, its eyes were blindfolded, and it's armed with a scale and a sword.
This is Justice.
"That must be on the Angels that Mysteeri was talking about." Sandra took out binoculars and took a closer look. "My Brother's air fleet won't last. She's tearing through them like zeppelins."
"Then we'll have to help them?" Sapphire insisted.
Sandra soon left the Peacemaker Army to split up and help take Splat-Coat settlements. She then looked to Sapphire. A few retainers were behind the indigo inkling.
"How, Sapphire? We don't have anti-aircraft weaponry, Howe has those nearly destroyed and stored away." Sandra looked at an abandoned steampunk vehicle. "But I think there's some way to reinvent it." Sandra got her retainers to go over to the vehicle and make haste in disassembling it and rebuilt it. "It'll just take a few minutes."
Soon an ink-musket was fired by a Splat-Coat, splatting one of Sandra's retainers. Sapphire turns around and gets behind a rock with an ink sword at hand. Sandra did the same, taking out her steampunk dualies; they guns have names: Lewis and Clark. They had to protect the construction.
A small regiment of Splat-Coats is already marching towards them. The inkmaton numbers were very low in their ranks: Tinmen and Ichabods were stripped of their metal armors and left as skeletal machines. However, there were two new inkomatons in their ranks: a living furnace that shoots flaring mists of ink and a patriot in leather and animal skin, mistaken as another Splat-Coat, carrying a modified charger.
"What are those things?" Sapphire watched with caution.
Sandra was quick to nickname her enemies. "Let's call them the Fireman and Frontiersman."
The Fireman stomps once and releases one wave of flaring ink. The Frontiersman aims his charger and charged it's shot; when the trigger is released, ink shots are fired automatically into three directions, hitting the rocks and one of Sandra's Retainers.
"How many inkomatons will President Howe commission to stop us?" Sapphire asked.
"Enough to try and splat me and James!" Sandra answered before questioning the ink sword. "How deep can that sword cut even when the ink runs out?"
"Deep enough to tear a limb..." Sapphire only fight when she has to, and now is the time.
"Can it cut through metal and glass?" Sandra asked.
"Inkopolis doesn't call me 'The Weapon Seamstress' for nothing." Sapphire smiled. After all, she crafted this sword by herself. "What's the plan?"
"I'm going to fill my special gauge and perform a bomb rush on the Splat-Coat regiments." Sandra then pointed to the Fireman and Frontiersman. "And I need you to disarm the Frontiersman and cut off the arms and use its charge against the Fireman."
Sapphire knows that the two new inkomatons are too close to each other, they can cooperate to splat her in less than a minute.
"Don't you see how close those machines are?" Sapphire questioned.
"Oh... my bad." Sandra is now thinking of a way around it. "What is if I draw the Fireman close to me, and you go after the Frontiersman? I'm willing to risk drawing a heavy-hitter close to here."
Sapphire didn't question it and nods.
"We understand each other then, now wait 'til I draw the Fireman close enough for you to go around and confront the Frontiersman," Sandra stated, "That's an order from your Commander."
Sapphire nods without question and offered to double the bomb rush. Both their ink gauges fill and the two started tossing numerous splat bombs at regiment and the weak inkomatons. The Fireman and the Frontiersman, however, took the hits and continued advancing. The Fireman was moving more faster.
Sandra shoots her dualies at the Fireman, trying to encourage it to move faster. When it's close enough, Sapphire sprung into action and sprinted towards the Frontiersman. The inkomaton that Sapphire ordered to disarm removes an empty glass flask, replacing it with a full flask. It was reloading. Sapphire kept sprinting and prepared her ink sword.
When the Frontiersman prepares to aim, Sapphire jump and slashes downward, breaking one arm. However, this wasn't the arm on the trigger, but the aim was lower. It's three shots missed.
Sapphire then cuts the hand holding the handle of the charger. She then knocked the Frontiersman down and deliver a few hacks to the chest.
Sapphire grabs the charger, pulled the machine's severed hand away, and recovered the empty ink flask. She looked back and see the Fireman being slowed down by a few splat bombs that Sandra saved up. The flaring ink the Fireman made Sandra's ink evaporate before the splat bombs can hit it.
Sapphire tried to reload the charger with her ink, but it was enough to produce one shot. She hasn't tried firearms in a while, but she knew how to fire a charger. She looked into the scope and aims at the back of the Fireman's head while the inkmaton is distracted. With one pull of the trigger and the shot hits the Fireman's head.
It turns out the Fireman's head is a helmet, covering a bust made of a furnace. The Fireman stops and turns to face Sapphire. Sapphire lowers the charge. The Fireman is distracted and not longer targeting Sandra and her retainers; it's now targeting Sapphire.
The Fireman slams its fists down and started charging towards Sapphire, but it didn't manage to reach 2 feet of Sapphire. A steampunk automobile rams into the Fireman, and it collapses with a huge dent. The fires from this Inkomaton are now put out.
James and Pyrrhus get out of the cockpit as their automobile loses power.
"...Thank you." Sapphire called to them. She was breathing fast.
"What is Sandra doing?" James asked.
"Anti-Aircraft is ready, ma'am!" A retainer notified Sandra.
Sandra puts her dualies, Lewis and Clark, away and runs over to the newly built weapon. Her retainers filled it with a tank of ink while James and Pyrrhus run over to stand by Sandra's side.
"Sandra, what did you do to this?" James thinks Sandra is crazy.
"Re-invented the anti-aircraft cannon, what did you think?" She gets into what was once a cockpit and turns the machine on.
"Sandra..... thank you." James know what she did this for.
"Go lead your men, take Sapphire with you," Sandra ordered.
James nods in understanding. He runs off with Pyrrhus and Sapphire following, making their way to one more Splat-Coat settlement to take for the Rebellion. Sandra focused on aiming the angel, Justice. Once she has the inkomaton in her sights, she places a finger on a button and took a deep breath.
Sandra rephrased her mother's words:
"No matter what happens, I'll stay brave. I'll keep moving forward and stay brave, even if all is lost and even if there’s nowhere else to turn. I know James and I will make our names known to the world like you and Dad. I'll stay brave!"
She presses the button.
The ink is fired.
An angel's metallic feather falls and lands on the surface of an ink puddle.

Irresistible Carp Pellets For Maximum Fishing Success!
[ad_1]
You probably use pellet baits. But there is far more to using, adapting, boosting and even making pellets than most anglers ever realised! You can have far more success exploiting pellets when you know far more about them and what to do to vastly improve any pellet bait! Better still you can make your own homemade pellets and give your fish maximum reasons to feed using incredibly potent ingredients and especially powerful components; so read on now!
There was a time when the majority of carp anglers used trout pellets in one way or another and the choice of pellets was quite limited compared to today. Pellets were usually ground up and made into boilies and paste baits. Pellets were also used as free baits but most often simply introduced with no additional treatments or adaptations to make them far more effective at making fish feed.
The thing to think about is that pellets such as trout pellets, salmon pellets and halibut pellets are designed to put weight on farmed fish for maximum profit. They are not optimised to make fish feed most of all. They are optimised to ensure the most feed gets efficiently biologically converted so the farmer has healthy fast growing fish to profit most from. Feed triggering efficiency is not the main aim at all! This point is a massive one to remember every time you use any pellets not designed specifically for carp fishing! This point means that you must treat pellets to maximise their feed triggering impacts!
You might well assume that for instance that halibut pellets are ideal for carp however they are certainly not ideal for health and certainly not optimised for maximum numbers of bites. These pellets are designed for fish with a higher protein requirement and a higher energy requirement which additionally means that such sea fish and salmonids such as salmon and trout have a higher oil content than carp require as carp metabolism is lower over all that these other fish.
Halibut pellets are high oil and used in volumes by numbers of anglers all the time on lakes is bad new for carp as this imbalances their ability to generate energy and burn off stored fats and glycogen in and around the major organs, and affects blood triglycerides and cholesterol in the body detrimentally. High oil impacts produce vitamin E deficiency and as this is a very potent antioxidant this reduces the immune system and other roles and functions in carp.
Fatty liver is just one symptom of excessive salmonids and halibut pellet use by the herds of anglers using these in spod and PVA product mixes and as other forms of free baits. It is insane how many carp have enlarged livers that form a bulge in their side which so many anglers simply ignore not realising they are harming fish health by using such pellets! The impacts all add up and in fact slow down the fishing especially in the later autumn, the winter and spring because the excessive and ignorant use of pellets by the masses simply means so much oil is converted and stored for vital energy, that very little feeding is required outside of optimum water temperatures for carp feeding!
I used to be a fan of oily fish meal baits and oily pellets, but not any longer now I know what harm they do. In the early day of using halibut pellets before the herd jumped on the bandwagon I used three grades of them each having a different rate of breakdown do to different levels of components. This made for great fishing for a short time as I could exploit this staggered breakdown to make it very difficult for fish to detect which bait was the hook bait. In fact after much initial success it only took the fish in my local lake 5 weeks to begin to go off halibut pellets and start to pick them up with great caution, to the point where numbers of bites were aborted, and a noticeable drop in bigger fish was noticed compared to initial use.
I altered my approach by cutting the large pellets I was using into fragments, and shortening my hook links. Again this approach worked for a while, but the main problem was that the bait was not new any longer and the fish knew they were dangerous even though they at them.
There are so many options you can use to overcome fish caution using your own creativity. Of course you can use buoyant fake pellets on the rigs. You can disguise your hook and rig with pellet paste. You can make pellet boilies in alternative shapes, textures, with different flavours and colours and so on. There are many ready made pellet paste and pellet boilies on the market including pop up baits and neutral buoyancy type wafter baits that negate the weight of the hook. This is a very vital point to fool the warier fish.
Preferably you will take full advantage of the new generation of specifically designed carp pellets available today. But some are far better than others. Again you need to bear in mind that fish become wary of familiar products pretty quickly, and anyway there is no need to cut your chances of success when you can be the very first to introduce a new bait to a water. To guarantee this massive advantage making your own homemade pellets can be the most powerful edge as I know from experience.
You need to think about why pellets are very successful. Originally baits used in carp fishing were predominantly water soluble and this was why such baits worked so very well as their components could react with water and as solution impact upon fish receptors very effectively. Paste baits and small particle baits with a high water content and trout pellets were among the main baits used for carp fishing before the advent of readymade baits.
You can do almost all the things in pellet form as you can with boiled baits using the same massive range of ingredients and liquids but personally I prefer paste and pellet bait formats and avoid heated baits for a huge list of reasons! Boiled baits are a bait format that can be less effective than many other bait formats. This is because carp have associated danger with hard round or barrel shaped baits containing egg for decades and the conventional sizes shapes, surface textures, ingredients and liquids and general characteristics mean boilies are very easy to associate with danger from previously being hooked on them.
You can of course apply all bait theory and ingredients and additives and so on to pellets to make highly water soluble baits. But of course you can also make homemade baits that are not round, that have rough textures and completely alternative nutritional profiles and totally alternative ingredients and additives etc compared to well over 90 percent of ready made baits. Such unique homemade baits can be made in any alternative shape as they do not have to be made by machine rolling pressing or extruding or heating!
Making homemade pellets means you can tailor your recipes extremely precisely for cold winter temperatures and also for the hottest summer temperatures so you exploit the practical function and chemical and physiological aspects etc of carp in the bigger scheme of things all year round.
I have been an obsessive fan of homemade bait making for decades since I noticed that the new readymade baits from the bait companies could easily be out-fished. In fact the more ready made baits that are round or barrel shaped and smooth surfaced are used by the masses on a particular water, the easier such baits are to out-fish using ready made baits. The reason for this is very simply that you can systematically remove out of your own bait formats and bait recipes any commonly used substance, and you can create baits so different in function and characteristics that you have removed virtually all reasons for carp to be cautious of them. Of course carp are wary of baits they have been hooked on before and this means for me that ready made baits are only a compromise for anglers either without the time or the vision to utilise superior solutions.
Even if you are formulating a bait recipe and having it rolled by a bait company the fact is that you have just lost a major potential advantage over carp defensive instincts and that is that almost inevitably the surface, shape and density of the baits will in some way be almost certainly similar to most other ready made baits! Not many anglers appear to have figured the profound implications of using smooth and rounded familiar baits. Only when you have experienced using baits that have as little resemblance of ready made baits as possible and used them in testing directly against standard rolled ready made baits can you experience the drastic improvement in catches. The difference in catch rates can be simply unbelievable and I am not alone in experiencing this phenomenon, many of my eBook readers now know all about this too! Perhaps you can see why I am so passionate about making homemade baits now!
I expect you want some instant tips on pellet uses. I will not give anything really potent here. If you have been using pellets straight out of a bag, then I suggest that you might try getting some of the potently bioactive citrus oil on a high PC lecithin base type flavour from Phil at CW Baits on request. This example of a unique flavour was deliberately custom designed to harness the powerful biological potency of special citrus oils and components and is really something unique. If you have not done this yet I suggest that next time you use a pellet or a mixture of them, mix them with CC Moore Marine amino Compound mixed with their unique liquid Red Venom which is a great alternative when you wish to avoid the ever so over-used Robin red. Robin red is now becoming a danger signal as it has been used in ready made baits for decades. I have avoided using this additive for years and benefited big-time!
Just one example of an additive to really improve the quality of water soluble protein in your baits while avoiding milk and egg proteins is CC Moore hemp protein powder. Teamed with the pure hydrolysed krill extract liquid this company offers you can easily begin to adapt ready made baits of all formats or even just exploit these two products to make completely unique baits. Making a coarse pellet based on hemp powder, crushed and whole hemp and crushed nuts bound not with carbohydrate binders but with high protein binders only plus boosted concentration liquid foods is merely a functional idea for a starting point for a range of possible homemade baits.
My head is spinning with so many ideas I could offer that have caught me outstanding catches of big fish but you need to develop your own thought process to creatively invent your own unique fishing edges with bait and bait applications.
I could list 500 additives and liquids you could use in your alternative pellet mixes for any fishing purpose. The trick is in knowing which substances are specifically so potent that you get excited just thinking about using one of them or a unique combination of them, knowing which ratios and levels will produce maximum feed triggering impacts in the short and long term. You need to consider the fact that it is extremely prohibitive for bait manufacturers to use very high levels of quality protein and extremely potent extracts and other very costly substances in making their baits, because their main aim is to make a profit.
This is why it is so easy for you to beat ready made boilies and pellets by making the stimulatory levels of incredibly stimulating components in your homemade baits massively higher because your aim is to get as many bites as possible, and not to make a profit! So if your wish to make milk protein based pellets or corn steep liquor or enzyme treated liver or pure bloodworm extract pellets for example then you can literally make them as potent as you can with no restraints!
Part of this choice is how to improve the palatability of baits so fish repeatedly eat more and more of your bait the more they eat. Obviously this is a fantastically vital part of improving baits because this means maximum numbers of chances of fish picking up your hook baits again and again until they get hooked! These effects can be built into baits so they act in cumulatively habit-forming and even addictive ways. The term addictive is no joke because the fact is that teleost fish are the ancient ancestors of us and we share so many physiological similarities. When you take a much deeper look at the food groups and things such as the most biologically active components of flavours you soon discover substances when used in the most appropriate dosage, concentration and in unique combinations that can be harnessed to catch far more fish and I have spent years researching and testing this whole subject!
We get addicted to very many substances and the food industry exploits this to manipulate your food buying choices and patterns. Homemade bait making and improving ready made baits is just the same; you have power to make your baits as potently biologically active, as enzyme active, as palatable, and as internally stimulating and addictive as you desire.
You do not know what you are missing until you actually experience the incredible satisfaction of catching new personal best fish after new personal best fish on baits that you have very specially adapted or have actually designed and made yourself! It is your choice! I regard the best value bait as the kind of bait no fish has ever experienced before and which catches me the most big fish possible in as short a period of time as possible.
If your mentality is still merely the price of a deal on popular ready made baits then you are not truly getting it about true value for money and instead are missing the whole point about bait! I would always much prefer to fish exploiting just 1 kilogram of the most potent homemade baits a lake ever saw than with 50 kilograms of a popular ready made bait, even if the cost of my 1 kilogram was the same as the 50 kilograms of bait. I hope you get my point about potency here.
Using more bait is not a guarantee you will catch the fish you aim for particularly if others have hooked that fish on the same or a similar ready made bait you are using! However when you present fish with a totally new experience, well as they say, carp do not have hands with which to test baits do they? What do you think they are going to do with a uniquely potent uniquely alternative profile bait, and how would you feel if you were the only person who knew the recipe of such a bait when it catches the biggest fish in your lake? Revealed in my unique readymade bait and homemade bait carp and catfish bait secrets ebooks is far more powerful information look up my unique website (Baitbigfish) and see my biography below for details of my ebooks deals right now!

"Hmm..." Minu hums.
It was hard for her to see anything within the clouds. Though once Lutarna's trick worked, she began to enact her own plan.
Jumping from the wall, she landed on the railing of the staircase on the other side. Balancing on the metal beam, she began to carefully walk upward on the incline of it, and landed on the landing on the other side.
She activates the crab tank on the other side, grinning. "Eat ink, suckers."
She began to open fire, pelting the clones from behind. Alternating between blasts and shots, she took them down in a matter of seconds before the special gauge was empty.
"Don't mess with me!" She huffs, looking up. The clouds began to clear up, allowing the others to get to the landing.
"It's just up ahead." Plat surmises. "Be careful, we might be facing more resistance."
Sure enough, sensors went off, and before they knew it, lasers activated.
"Oh....what happens if we touch them?"
Minu throws a splat bomb forward, triggering one of the lasers. In an instant, a massive downpour of ink rained down, causing the two to recoil back.
"Something tells me that was ORCA's doing, not Tara's." Plat groans, remembering the test chambers of Alterna.
-
"The scream was down here!" Sandy exclaims, skidding to a stop in front of the last door at the end of the hallway. She kicks the door open at full force, bringing up her blaster. "Miss Annalise?!"
Silence. "Eh? But I know for sure...."
The two were jumped by another set of clones, from both behind and in front. "Eep!"
The surprise attack did do what was intended: surprise. Sandy wasn't ready for a clone to get a slash on her arm. "OWOWOW! That really hurts!!" She cries, blasting said clone in the face.
After they finally clear out the room, Sandy hobbles inward, holding her arm. She spots another door within the room, and opens it.
Another room. But this time, there was someone on the bed.
"O-Oh my goodness! I think that's...!"
A woman with strawberry blonde hair was curled up on a bed, eyes closed in a slumber. She looked uncomfortable; her brow was furrowed. Like she was having a bad dream. She was covered in bruises and scratches, evidence of a struggle.
"Mm?" She mumbles.
-
Vulture and Mirage continue to dig away the dirt, hands thoroughly covered before coming across a small metal box.
"Is this...?"
"Yes." Vulture pulls the box out of the earth, dusting it off. He unlatches the locks, and opens it. Inside was a worn set of papers.
"This is the directional course." Examining it, it had diagrams, numbers, calculations. It shows a rocket and its trajectory. "The course of a rocket that successfully launched into space. I know it's now one I wasn't aware because of the model and name. 'X-07-HOPE' is the name of it."
"So, you're saying..."
"...Somewhere out there, there's a whole colony of humans, and they're alive. I know they are." He looks upward at the ruined ceiling above them. "There's hope for us."
"How come you didn't know about it? Weren't tasked with saving the world?" Mirage looks up at him.
"....I think....they knew we weren't going to succeed. The government." He mumbles in a low voice. "So this was their emergency plan. A back-up rocket."
"So...are you saying they didn't have faith in you guys?"
"..."
The conversation was interrupted by shuffling, Vulture quickly shoving the papers back in the box. "We're not alone."
Mirage's nose twitches. The smell was awfully fishy.
Before they knew it, a chain-like object wraps around Vulture's ankle, dragging him to the ground and away. "GAH!"
"PROFESSOR!"
He tosses the box at Mirage. "I can't see them in the dark!! Be careful! AAAAAAH!" He's pulled into the shadows.
Mirage studies the scent with their nose. It's....familiar. They smell of the ocean. Specifically, the very metallic waters in Salmonid territory.
This wasn't a clone.
This was a Salmonid.
"Don't bother! I can smell you!" Mirage shouts, putting the box under their legs and crouching down, drawing their Hero Stringer. "Reveal yourself, now! This is Mirage, royal heir to the Salmonid throne!"
".....Royal?" They spoke. Their voice is raspy, but light enough that they sound young. The individual pops out of the shadows, holding what looked like a fishing rod of sorts. They turn the handle, and Vulture is hung upside down by his ankle. "Graah...!"
"I belong to no king." They hiss. "The only person who looks out for me is Mother."
"What...?"
"Now GIVE ME THE BOX!"

It was late at night. A gentle wind blows through the city of Splatsville and the sky sparkled with thousands of twinkling stars. The square was bustling, filled with Deep Cut's music. In the distance, however...
Dal finally heaves the last of the equipment down into the sewers, setting it up into a decently-sized corner, by the murky waters. They set up their base about three quarters of a way from Alterna's entrance; close enough to access the area easily, but far enough from being detected.
Vulture was counting the amount of provisions they had (kids got hungry after all), and then turns to the four agents. "Are you ready? We're about to begin."
Mirage nods. "Yeah, ready as we'll ever be. Cod, it smells awful down here..."
"Yeah, there's zero chance of us smelling normal ever again....that's what I keep telling you guys, but...." Sandy sniffled, both her emotions and the pungent smell making her cry. "But I guess I'm good to go."
Plat was absorbed in a text book in hand before looking up. "Oh, yeah, I'm good. Sorry, studying a little in the meantime..." He flips through a few pages.
"You know I'm good to go." Minu quickly adds. "Easy job, really. Grandma could do it in two seconds flat."
"Right...." He pulls out his phone and snaps a few quick photos of the base camp, the table with equipment, the entrance to Alterna, just a general understanding of the area via picture. He then sends the photos to T. [Hey, we're ready. When you're ready, open a portal up to here, send whoever wants to help through.]
He pauses. [....Don't worry about me, either. I'll be just fine.]
He then switches messages to Lutarna, readying a set of coordinates. [Alright Lutarna, it's revenge time. Here's the coordinates. Hop over when you're ready.]
"So....what will we do when your friends get over here?" Plat crosses his arms.
"We'll go over my plan. I know that tower inside and out. I have an entrance point in mind..."
Xingxi pops in. "Alright, Gravitational Pull is here and ready to help!"
"Thanks, Xing. I'll have you and Dal hang back, if that's alright..."
"Let me at 'em!!" Biela growled.
