I have a sweater I really like aside from the wide scoop neck, it's too obviously a women's cut and it shows the straps of my binder. Does anyone with more alteration experience think I could cut a v into the front and tighten it with laces?

another year another handmade book project for my dearest bestie, @acrowwithakeyboard ! <3

Had to bring back the Oghma Infinium for funsies. Ol Herma Mora would want this to be about him.

Progress below the cut!

I actually started this project almost a year ago (I don't even have my PC yet!) but the ADHD kicked in big time and it was shelved until now. I have half of the progress filmed from back then, but due to personal issues, I simply didn't film my final steps this week.

All that's really missing from the video is cutting the designs out on silver HTV with Cricut, and then once they were ironed on I used watered down acrylic to recolor the backgrounds of the designs. The Dragonborn book has an extra layer of grey vinyl behind it to maybe help with a more 3D effect.

Main materials: -Dollarama sketchbooks (used the paper to make new text blocks) -chip board (reused the covers from the sketchbooks) -cotton fabric (purchased from Walmart and Michaels) -acrylic paint -Mod Podge -Shoe Goo (my favorite glue right now) -heat transfer vinyl

I can't remember where I got the magic symbols (seems like I just Googled transparent .pngs), but I did purchase the symbol of Akatosh from Etsy, and used border pieces from this designer on Cricut Design Space!

edit: found some progress pics while cleaning my photos out. Sharing because showing failure is important too. The vinyl was giving me a really hard time (I had to realign Cricut in order for the design to cut properly).

Had to "repair" two cushions yesterday. Bought years ago, but last year i noticed that the stuff that was around the fillings -i don't know the proper name for it, but looked like light weight interfacing- completely disintegrated.

Leaving me with this:

Two weirdly shaped big chunks of filling. So i looked for some white cotton in my stash -didn't matter if it is washed or not, because this will just protect the filling from getting dirty (filling is anoying to wash) and itself will not be washed, because there always will be a cushion cover over it. And it is easier to handle the cushion, when it is more compact.

I just cut it about the right size, which normally is around 40x40 cm (which is the most common size of cushion covers i have, but there are bigger ones and smaller ones available).

It is not important, if it is smaller, but shouldn't be much bigger than the cushion cover you own.

Iron them with steam and serged (if you don't have an overlocker or overlocker stitch on your machine, you could probably also use an zig-zag-stitch) them together on two sides, leaving on side open.

Stuffed the filling inside the cushion, turned inside a bit of "seam allowance" on the open edge and closed it with a straight stitch from the outside.

Doesn't need to be pretty or very precise.

And now they are ready again for their cushion covers.

And today i have to "repair" one of my duvet covers. That one has just a flap on one end you tuck in, which i hate. I actually prefer buttons, but i don't have enough length to make them, so i have to sew in a zipper.

I'm as grateful for cellphones as the next person, but sometimes I think about how everyone having a phone on them at all times really did cause us to loose some things as a society. I mean - for example, kids these days will never experience their car breaking down and needing to find the nearest place with a phone they can use. They're never going to have the opportunity to tentatively approach a house only to discover that it's full of queer people having a party hosted by a transvestite to celebrate his creation of a sex homunculus, stay the night, and loose their virginity while unintentionally partaking in cannibalism. It's tragic, that kind of gay sexual awakening just doesn't happen these days because of cellphones.

Guyz. I am thinking of rewriting Alteration.

I feel it needed much more planning. Cus the plot was supposed to be deeper by this point and I wish I could delete few aspects.

Of course, I would do that after McFly AUGUST.

I would delete Emma and Evan aspect since they add nothing to the plot. This would leave Verne and Marty in the spot light.

(For those who dont know, Alteration focuses on Verne who moved to 1985 with his family. (Grew up with Marty) and Marty from timeline where Doc does not return)

ALSO. Then should I delete or keep the old Alteration story on ao3. Since in my standarts its big. I am asking for experienced writters help 😭😭😭
