I find it so funny to imagine that even when Shigeo is chilled out he still gives people That Look. Nobody can tell if he's actually mad or if that's just his default "don't do that" expression.

Oh absolutely yeah. Shigeo is not looking at his own sexuality because like. He has enough to have a crisis about. He's already having to reevaluate his entire world view and learn how to trust people and figure out who the hell he is outside of Mob so like. "Am I attracted to men" can wait he has other shit to do 😭

Shigeo's grudge against Teru is the best because it's both so interesting and complicated and so compelling and also it's fucking HILARIOUS. I've talked with a friend a lot about how in any other situation Teru and Shigeo would get along way too fucking well but in this Shigeo is willing to explode him. Like *if* and when they actually get along everyone's immediately missing when they didn't because they're both little shits. I will forever headcanon Shigeo is very mischievous when he's not being Dead Serious. They'd be absolute nightmares together. Mob left front for five minutes what the hell did they do.

Reigen is another dynamic with Shigeo that is A) narratively compelling and B) so fucking funny. Like. Dude. Dude. Hear me out. He immediately passed out the second Reigen told him his parents were safe and seemed to hold his word in such high regard and I feel like he resents that. He says in confession arc "No, I can't listen to him" because he KNOWS damn well he cares about what Reigen thinks and says too much and will want to listen. He also despises how much he lies and distrusts him and it's so interesting. That's his family and he hates that he cares so much. And also the dynamic of Shigeo just staring into Reigens soul mid him bullshitting and he's just aggressively backpedaling before this kid stabs him. Reigen trying to parent this weird extremely traumatized child who cannot make up his opinion on him. He also has a tendency of doing the opposite of what Reigen asked him while looking him directly in the eye. He is nothing like Mob.

Tome is safe for him having to question his sexuality a little. Like he can have the "so hypothetically if I like men-" crisis to her with less anxiety about "will they be accepting that" or god forbid telling that to a guy so it's way less scary. Also I headcanon Shigeo as Not Cis at all. I change my mind on what exactly I view their gender as but I like to imagine them exploring their gender separate from Mob. Shigeo is not cishet. To me.

Oh yeah absolutely. Shigeos powers are massively important to him and I feel like hes the type of person to find sparring fun. He'd be SO overdramatic about winning sparring matches too. Did you see how much he monologued to Mob and his lines. He can't be normal about winning he has to give a stupid little speech. (Which is so funny to me because GOD he is so fourteen. Of course the first thing he does after being free is monologue. He's so funny I love him.)

I love system mob and Shigeo for so many reasons and one of them is the comedy potential. Mob and Shigeo having full blown conversations in their head and they don't realize they've been silently staring at the wall for 12 minutes while the others make sure they don't walk into anything. Mob and Teru being Not Straight and the entire time Shigeo's just judging him. Mobs just trying to bat him away with a newspaper so he can have his damn date in peace. I think Shigeo being fucking Goofy as well as, y'know, literally terrifying is underrated.

literally the funniest thing I can think of is teru leaning in to kiss mob and shigeo grabbing his face one handed with That One Expression and simply saying. "No." 💀

I agree though! shigeos fear over acceptance and feeling like tsubomi was the only one who would understand him I think would mean his sexuality is Off Limits for A While. like warming up to the people in mobs life Takes A Minute. so doing any additional soul searching now on the other side of puberty? pump the fucking breaks for a second

and its doubly funny that teruki who's been on the other side of him twice also has a bad impression bc he did it babe! he saw you at your worst and he likes you anyway! he saw you do terrible things and he stood by you until the bitter end! but he also choked you out and tried to explode your bouquet so fuck that guy.

reigen spinning some tall tale and mobs like wow shishou :) you're so amazing :) and then he says smtn else and shigeo drops a flat one liner that suckerpunches him & contradicts everything he just said so blatantly he's left fumbling to catch up. (and worst of all: it was really fucking FUNNY.)

which brings me to my next slide: the first person in mobs life that shigeo falls in with is absolutely tome. imo. she's blunt with her feelings, she's up front, she's sardonic and silly and she's a girl. safe all the way down for someone getting their sea legs. also imo tome is gay so it eases his concerns right. vibes.

one last consideration: shigeo enjoys his powers. they're a part of him. he wants to flex his wings. so him sparring w ritsu (gently) and shou (less so) in a way mob would NEVER before. but it's good! it's healthy to blow off that steam! esp bc shous a firecracker and also desperately needs to blow off his extra power. do u see my vision
