A Months journey from Spellbyndell, some time after the Dark lords defeat...

Regalia's champions, affectionately dubbed the 'Roses of Thorns,' are reveling at their campsite, filled with laughter and libations. Among them, the formidable knight Parish is seen playfully bantering with Captain Brom. "So, whatâs your game plan when we return home, big guy?" Parish teases. "Honestly, no grand plans. Iâll be happy just to get everyone back safe and lend a hand wherever itâs needed," Brom replies. "Oh really? You know~ If you really wanted to help out, youâd rescue me from the dating scene!" she exclaims, bursting into laughter. "You're such a brute... don't you know anything about romance, Parish?" he asks, amused by her continued giggles. "Very well, I accept. Perhaps I can teach you a thing or two." he suggests. A grin remains on Parish's face as it quickly turns into a vibrant shade of red.
The focus shifts to Avi, prince Lumin's childhood friend, whose musings are interrupted by Sir Lorcan. "I've noticed a certain hero is missing. Why not go fetch him?" Lorcan suggests. "Nah, let him wallow; heâd just bring the mood down," Avi replies. "But he can't stay like that forever! You two are practically brothers! What good are you if you can't pull him out of his slump?" Lorcan insists, nudging Avi to rise. "I'm not taking responsibility for that! Being friends with the prince just gives me the right to kick his butt," Avi retorts. "Then maybe he needs a solid kick in the rear!" Lorcan exclaims, kicking Avi's chair out from under him, forcing him to rise to his feet. "Sigh~ What a pain," Avi mutters as he makes his way to Prince Lumin's tent.

Hay party pooper! your people are missing their hero! Avi remarks with sarcasm as he nears the entrance of the tent. "Really? Brooding in the buff, you are so dramatic! I should've been a bard, I would have made a fortune using you as my muse." Avi jests. "Whose dramatic? You haven't a musical bone in your body, you'd only make a fortune in debt. Besides I wasn't brooding." Retorts Lumin as he turns to face his friend.

Anyway, how's the research going? Avi inquires, lowering his voice to a more concerned tone. After a brief silence, Lumin finally speaks up.
"I've gone through every grimoire, every journal, and even the smallest scribble the dark Lord had in his possession, and none of them contain the curse he used on my mother therefore, I can't make a proper cure. " He pauses before adding, "However, we do know that the Imp believed the Springtide Scepter could heal him."
"... But he was wrong?" Avi asks. "Indeed," Lumin confirms. "The magic within the royal scepter, better known as the Springtide, could only make new things, like the rebirth of spring, which explains how he used it to conjure the creatures of decay. He was able to use it on himself, but it only contained the curse in him like a cocoon, slowly transforming him into something potentially far more dangerous than what we encountered, and that's why the scepter had to be shattered. To undo everything he had made with it."
"Right. So... what does this mean? If the scepter was useless to us all along and it couldn't have healed queen Aine, are we really back to square one?" Avi questions anxiously. "No no, not entirely." Lumin reassures him. "Ever since we left Spellbyndell, I've been researching mystical gems because of the dark lords interest in the Springtide, and only recently have I found something promising: Hematite! By applying Lunar magic to this stone, we can prevent the curse from taking my Mother's life prematurely. As long as I keep it charged and she wears it, she'll live on normally." "THAT'S GREAT! Where do we get some!?" Avi exclaims enthusiastically. "I'm not sure yet, but I have an idea." Admits Lumin.
"GUESS WHO'S GETTING MARRIED!" Suddenly shouts Parish from behind Avi startling him. "Think you can hitch me and Brom up tonight Lum?!" Parish asks with a charming smile.
"You and theâCAPTAIN?! When did this happen?!" Avi exclaims in bewilderment. Lumin, initially surprised, softens his voice into amusement and responds with, "I-uh... Unfortunately I can't officiate outside of Spellbyndell, Parish... Though I can sympathies with your eagerness; spring is an ideal time for weddings." Avi, in utter shock from what he's hearing interjects, "How are you so calm about this?! Parish! Dose Capt. even know about your plans?" Parish begins shaking her head up and down to imply a yes at Avi's question confidently.
Lumin looks over at his distressed friend, and with a pat on the back replies, "They've been flirting for months, and I even noticedâhow did it go over your head? Besides Avi, It's the end of an era and a birth of anew.
"I expect multiple weddings will be held once we're finally home."

I am the pretty thing that lives in the castle
And I pray one prayer - I repeat it till my tongue stiffens - Catherine Earnshaw, may you not rest as long as I am living; you said I killed you - haunt me, then! Emily Bronte, âWuthering Heightsâ.
Y/N became a ghost instead of Myrtle. She couldn't care less about Tom. He wishes he could say the same. Wordcount: 3k.
At their first meeting, Tom even shrieked a little (as he later justified, solely because Y/N took him by surprise). He crept towards the sinks that bathed in the bluish light of the moon, and did not at all expect that someone would jump at him from the ceiling with a âBoo!â
âBoo,â Y/N said reluctantly and passed through him like a light bluish cloud. Tom closed his eyes, but didnât feel anything.
âGood evening to you too,â he said, looking at her cautiously. Y/N floated up to the ceiling and was now studying the stucco, running her ghostly finger absentmindedly over the frozen gargoyle masks. âWhat's new?â
âAs you may guess, absolutely nothing,â Y/N responded, âbut I like that youâre trying to be polite. It's nice.â
âDo you feel âniceâ?â
âNot really. I'm using words that I learned in life, but they don't quite describe my experience because I've never experienced anything like this before. I'd rather you be polite than rude, and that's my new ânice.â
Tom looked at her, a luminous spot against the black wall, which trembled slightly, like the wings of a strange butterfly. Y/N died wearing a thin shirt, but there was no longer any way she could be cold or get sick.
âIf I didnât know you were a Ravenclaw, I would have guessed by now,â he said.
âI was different when I was alive,â Y/N said judiciously. âMore livelyâ
âYou sure wereâ.
âNo, I mean it. I can't explain it enough for you to understand, but this experience is...changing. Everything becomes so transparent, unreal. If I were the same, I would have already cried barrels of tears and flooded the toiletâ.
âThere is someone who is eager to do that for you,â Tom said gloomily. âMyrtle has been whining all day long, telling everyone what a wonderful friend you were.â
âMe?â Y/N sounded surprised. âI canât remember that we were friends. However, I did stand up for her a couple of timesâŚâ
Tom kept silent a little longer, angrily tapping his fingers on the broken edge of the sink. When falling, already dead, Y/N hit her head here. They didn't fix the sink, instead, they put a lock on the toilet door, but Tom sneaked in almost every evening.
âIs that why youâre not angry at me for killing you?â he finally asked.
âWell, technically you didnât kill me. You just released a basilisk, which also didn't do anything against its nature, so it's kind of like an accident. Although I can understand why you didnât tell anyone about it all,â Y/N said. âNo, thatâs not the reason whyâ.
âYou are very understanding,â said Tom. âIs it okay if I stay here a little longer? I need to prepare an essay on the history of magic, and tomorrow is the final match between the badgers and Slytherin. All of Hogwarts is shakingâ.
âMake yourself at home,â Y/N said indifferently.
She went down to the Chamber of Secrets with him when the time came to seal it. Hovering silently two steps behind him, she looked at the tunnels and rusty gratings that were many, many centuries old, and for the first time something like curiosity was reflected on her transparent face. For some reason this made Tom feel almost happy. Y/Nâs curiosity became almost human when, rustling its scales, a huge snake slowly crawled out of the black hole in the wall and surrounded them with a ring, and put its terrible head so as to get a better look at the guests, and hissed in greeting.
âI've read that those who speak Parseltongue can look a basilisk in the eyes and survive,â said Tom, looking down, âbut I donât want to test that.â
Y/NÂ looked fearlessly with her dead eyes straight into the face of the creature.
âYes, the cost of a mistake would be very high,â she said. âWhat is your pet's name?â
âSusie,â Tom said quietly. âIt's a girlâ.
Y/N smiled weakly.
âHello, Susie,â she said. Susie let out a squeal that sounded more like a laugh. âNice to meet you. Unfortunately, this is not for long, because we have come to seal the Chamber of Secrets forever.â
âFor a while,â Tom corrected her. âSusie, I'll be back, I promise. I don't know when, but I'll be backâ.
He closed his eyes and stretched his hands forward. The basilisk poked its terrible mouth into his chest, and Tom hugged her.Â
***
When Tom returned to school the next year, no one noticed anything, and he even began to think that the ritual did not work, but as soon as he crossed the threshold of the toilet on the third floor, a quiet exclamation was heard from under the ceiling:
âOh! Tom, what happened to you?â
Like a feather or a petal, Y/N slowly descended towards him. Tom looked at her and thought that flying suited her well.
âIs it that noticeable?â he asked suspiciously.
âYou have become very small,â Y/N said, flying around him. âLike this,â and made a small circle with her hands. âWhere did half of you go?â.
This is how he learned that ghosts see the effects of Horcruxes.
âI wonât tell anyone,â she promised. âWho was it?â
And Tom told her. About everything, about how he found out who the Gaunts were, about how he found his uncle, about the Riddles, about how scary it was to look at his fatherâs corpse, because he was so very alike him, about how he made a Horcrux right there while the bodies were still warm. It was easy for him, he wanted to talk, to free himself from every detail, take it out of his head, let Y/N look, discuss, judge.
She was in no hurry to judge. She just said:
âThis could backfire on you.â
âHow?â Tom suddenly felt offended. He just now realized that he would like her to admire what a cool magician he is, and maybe even clap her hands.
âI know more than you,â she said vaguely. âNot everything, perhaps, but more. Yes, Iâm still on the threshold, but from where Iâm standing, itâs clear that you acted very rashly.â
âWhat do you mean by âstillâ?"
She didn't answer.
All autumn, winter and summer he went to visit Y/N, even leaving textbooks in a niche by the window. It was quiet and somehow very cozy there, the light from the window was so gentle, and on sunny days the stained glass windows seemed to light up with colored lights. Y/N was silent for the most part, but seeing her figure out of the corner of his eye and hearing her thoughtful humming under her breath was... nice. This was his new âniceâ, because something inside of him began to change inexplicably, irreversibly and horribly.
In winter, he asked her to come to the Yule Ball, and she agreed, and she blew out all the candles and ruined the chandelier. Oh, the chaos!.. And in the spring they celebrated Y/Nâs first Deathday Party. For this occasion Tom stole a lemon pie from the kitchen, but Y/N politely thanked him and said that she couldnât eat that. She fluttered back and forth, he chewed on the pie, they argued about the technique of using Fiendfyre, and it was a nice evening.
âI wonât come back here in the fall,â Tom said suddenly, because in fact thatâs all heâs been thinking about for the last few days.
âI know,â Y/N said. âYou are in seventh year. I can count to sevenâ.
âBut Iâll come back someday,â he said stubbornly. âI just donât know whenâ.
âI think Iâve already heard this onceâ.
âIâll come back for Susie too, donât you worry.â
âAnd what will we do then, riddle me this?â
âSeize the Ministry of Magic,â he blurted out. âY/N, I'll miss you. Will you miss me?â
âI would like to tell you something nice in response, but Iâll tell the truth. Maybe I won't be here soon.â
He suddenly felt very hot. Then terribly cold.
âWhat do you mean you wonât be here? Where are you going to go?â Tom asked in an unnaturally high voice. âArenât you here forever?â
âNot really,â Y/N answered evasively. âYou see, when I died, I was not at all ready for thisâ.
âCan anyone possibly be ready for this?â
âYou must be ready, Tom. Now I know that. I was confused and made... the wrong choice. Stuck on the threshold. Didn't go any further. But I can step forward at any moment, I just need to think it over carefully and make a decisionâ.
âCanât you step back?â Tom asked. He did not put hope into these words, but it sounded nevertheless.
âNo,â Y/N answered simply. âI died, Tomâ.
He rested his hand on his cheek and watched her spin, arms outstretched, right up to the ceiling, the invisible wind blowing her hair. He said:
âI regret that I didnât know you when you were alive. I think we could become friends.â
âWe could,â Y/N agreed. âBut for this to happen you shouldnât have killed meâ.
Tom jumped up sharply and, his burning face hid in his hands, quickly walked out of the room. The door slammed so loudly that the noise echoed throughout the entire corridor.
***
Tom did not soon cross this threshold again.
He walked from Dumbledore's office after the first unsuccessful job interview in his life, he wanted to get out of the castle as quickly as possible so as not to endure this humiliation anymore, but his feet themselves led him to the third floor.
âYou have become even smaller,â said a familiar voice, which he had only dreamed about in the morning. Loud, distant, but somehow comforting. âYou're barely visibleâ.
Tom was silent. He looked and still did not believe that he was seeing her again. Finally he grinned and stepped forward.
âBut youâre still the same,â he said.
âThe same, but not quite,â Y/N objected, going down to meet him. âI thought a lot and almost decided to take a step furtherâ.
âBut not yet?â
âNot yet. This is a complex process, and it doesn't get any easier now that I have all the time in the worldâ.
âWhat exactly are you doing?â Tom asked, leaning against the wall. A forgotten feeling of comfort covered him in a cool wave. He felt like he wanted to stay.
âIâm thinking,â Y/N said. âA lotâ.
âDonât you need to, I donât know, take revenge on your murderer?â he asked and realized that it sounded like a request. Lord Voldemort had a lot of requests that day.
âNo, thanks,â said Y/N. She looked him up and down with a curious look and added: âIt seems to me that thereâs not much left of him anyway.â
Tom tiredly sank to the floor and tucked his legs under him. He wanted to talk to her again and again, so that she would answer sharply, but always to the point. He wanted her to scream at him, to rush to claw his eyes out, he wanted her to thirst for revenge.
âI sometimes saw you in my dreams,â he said. âLike weâre friends or something.â
âI have nothing to do with this,â Y/N said. âHave you made any living friends over the years?â
âWait for me,â Lord Voldemort said without listening to her. He wanted it to sound like an order, but it turned out to be the third request. âY/N, I figured out how to defeat death.â
âSure you didâ.
âI am not lying. I really fought it all this time and almost wonâ.
âI wish you would know how stupid you look now.â
âAre you going to listen or not?! I tell you, wait, I will bring you back, I will fix everything, you will be alive again, I will get you outâŚâ
âPromise?â
âYes, yes!â
âLord Voldemort's promise?â
She smiled. Unable to look at her, Tom stormed out.
***
The third time he returned to the castle was on May 2, 1998. He walked along the empty corridors of the third floor, and his steps echoed loudly. He was going to congratulate Y/N on her yet another Deathday. In his hands was not a lemon pie, but an Elder Wand.
The door to the girls' toilet was blown off its hinges by the explosion. He crossed the threshold and saw that the stained glass windows were broken, and golden dawn rays were pouring into the room. For a second it seemed to him that the place was empty, that he was late.
âOh, Merlin!â a familiar laugh rang out. âWhat's happened to you, Tom? You have become so very small, smaller than a mouse!â
She came down from the ceiling as before, but for the first time he saw her in the pink rays of the sun, and she seemed almost alive. For the first time he saw her almost alive.
âCome with me, Y/Nâ, he said softly. His hand trembled a little, grasping his wand. âI will bring you back to life. I will give you back everything and even more. Soon I will have the Resurrection Stone, and you will live againâ.
She laughed even louder, twirled as if in a dance, and he felt uneasy.
âStupid, stupid Tom,â Y/N said. âStill donât get this, do you? Everyone gets smarter over the years, but you seem to only get dumberâ.
And no Avada Kedavra could shut her up.
âBut I'm glad you came. Really, I am. I wanted to say goodbye to you, Tom. I'm finally making that stepâ.
âNo,â Lord Voldemort said in a changed voice. âDonât. Donât you dareâ.
âOr else what?â
âDon't do thisâ, when was the last time he begged for something, pleaded? Was it with her?! âStay. Stay, Y/N. I told you, I'll bring you back!â
âYou forgot the magic wordâ. Y/N giggled. She sank to the floor and looked at him cheerfully and seriously at the same time. âI feel sorry for you, Tomâ.
He had heard it once before, but coming from her it sounded and felt like âCrucio.â
âI have to go, really. There's no time to chat. Iâll tell you one more thing. Soon you will be offered a choice one last time, so please, please, donât be stubborn. Can you do this for me?â
Tom looked at her desperately, afraid to blink, and still missed the moment when Y/N melted into the air.
***
The empty platform shines white, as if it were covered with snow. There are no trains here. No people, too. The bench blackens on the platform like a wound. A faint whimper came from under the bench.
A girl is walking along the platform.
She is wearing a thin shirt, but there is no way that she could be cold. The blue tie is fluttering in the invisible wind. She hurries to the bench, bends down, carefully takes out the bundle of robes from there, and opens it, and smiles a little and carefully presses it to her chest.

đ˛đđđđđ đźđđđđđđđ đ đđđđđđ

âyou like him donât youâŚ?â mirabel asked as she hung upside from her bed.
âpft- me? noâŚnah couldnât be me..â you peaked up, being careful not to ruin your nails. âoh shut up! you totally do! i see how you blush around himâŚâ she laughed as you had a surprised expression âyou can actually see me blush?!â was the only thing you could think of in that moment.
âoh so you do blush? hm..interesting..â she fell as you pulled her pj shirt down. âagh! rude!â
âthatâs what you getâŚyour lucky i didnât mess up my nails-â you were cut off as someone erupted through the doors.
âare you guys okay? i heard something fall and dolores told me to checkâŚohâŚy/n..!â he smiles quickly at you and went back to his concerned face. âuh..you sure if wasnât just an excuse to see y/n?â mirabel snorted as you hit her subtly.
âwha- no! i justâŚi wasâŚbah!â he hid his face and closed the door. âbye..!â mirabel smiled as she turned her head towards you. âiâve never seen him stutter like that beforeâ she smirked âyou make him nervous~!â you laughed sarcastically âi didnât even say anythingâŚhe was just nervous because he heard something fall.â
camilo was still outside hearing the whole conversation and mirabel was in fact, correct. you make him nervous ever since that dayâŚhe recalls it every night and in his dreams all he can see is your pretty face.
-flashback?-
âcamilo? something the matter?â you sat down beside him on a bench.
âuh no..just uhm thinking..â he wiped his face quickly. what would she think if she saw him crying? heâs supposed to manlyâŚ
you placed a hand on his shoulder and wiped his tears away gently. âcamilo you can tell me anything, when youâre ready chulo.â you smiled reassuringly.
his heart skipped a beat, you called him cute and you were caring about him and everything about you was perfectâŚhe thinks heâŚbut he canât say it.
âthank youâŚit was just a tough day.â he leaned his head on to your shoulder and ranted about what happened. you listened, and gave advice that actually helped him. and for once he knew how to solve the equation, you were the answer all along.
-flashback over-
mirabel stepped out of the room to get some snacks and drinks. camilo took this as a chance to shape shift into her.
âhey y/n/n, tia said we couldnât get snacksâŚâ her voice seeming a little lower than usual to you. you shrugged it off.
âitâs fine, i need to tell you something anywayâŚâ you fidgeted with your rings.
âhm?â she tilted her head and sat down.
âokay well since you brought up camilo i guess maybe i do have a potential crush on himâŚâ you groaned âi like his beautiful stupid crooked smile and his awkwardness but also his confidence, the way he helps everyone but still makes time for the most important people in his life. i like the way his dumb voice sounds and how he calls me namesâŚâ you sighed softly.
a blush came from mirabel, maybe it was too much. âsorry i bet i uh sounded dumb..â you hid your face. âi..uh iâll be right back..â before you could protest she was already out the door.
it was already said and you canât help but feel relieved. just then mirabel bursted through the door with snacks and fizzy drinks in her hands. you looked at her confused, didnât she say that tia pepa told us we canât have snacks?
âwait if your mirabel then that makesâŚâ your eyes widen and you ran to find camilo.
âcamilo!â you whispered yelled and then a arm yanked you into a room. camilos room to be exact.
âfirst. my smile is gorgeousâŚsecond. my voice is not dumb. third. do you really like me? i mean all this timeâŚiâŚâ he trapped you between himself. sighing heavily he spoke up again, âokay iâm just gonna say itâŚâ
âyou make me feel better and i like your pretty face, i like the way you comfort me but also help me laugh, when you do that little mumbling to yourself when youâre nervous, i canât help but wonder do you ever think about me?â you smiled and nodded âall the time..â you whispered.
this was it. the part he always imagined. except, theyâre in his room, so close, leaning in. you put a hand on his cheek, his warmth felt nice on your cold palm. âyouâre always on my mindâŚâ he confessed, whispering softly as he leaned more into your hand. âcamiloâŚcan..â you didnât have to ask, he wanted to this whole time.
you both leaned in, a burst of different feelings hit you. love was the main one. his hands dropped to your waist and lifted you up. his lips felt like the missing puzzle finally being put into place. he could get used to this.
a shining light hit both of your faces. you detached from his lips and looked at the doors. a big rainbow was over pepas head as she smiled, mirabels match making worked, and dolores big doe eyes were a little watery.
you felt embarrassed, how long have they been standing there?! you hid your head under camilos ruana. âdios mĂoâŚâ you mumbled as he did little head pats to calm you.
âwe interrupted them! go get out guys!â mirabel whispered yelled. felix gave camilo a small thumbs up and pepa couldnât contain the light from her rainbow. dolores closed the door, telling him to not do anything too risky.
âyou can come out now amor..â he chuckles as he looked down at you. you peeked your head up and saw his eyes looking straight at you.
âiâŚi know weâve been friends, and youâre probably not feeling the way iâm about to tell you right now, but y/n youre just so irresistible iâŚi love you, okay?â he sighed lovingly âand all this time i was contemplating on if i should-â
you cut him off his rambling and gave him a quick little kiss. âheyâŚâ you smiled softly and gave him a gentle hug âi love you cami, i know weâre young but i know for sure youâre going to be the one whoâs holding my heart.â you leaned into the crook of his neck.
âthis is niceâŚâ he smiled, the overwhelming feeling came back just like when he kissed you, he was stuck on the way your lips felt against his. he likes comparing your presence to the rain, so helpful to the world, relaxing to have, and enjoyable to listen to.
he felt like fireworks, so beautiful to finally see him show his colors, the way his voice can have a loud boom yet can be so quiet, and how he makes everyone happy just by seeing him, his charming liveliness making him captivating.
he loves you, and you finally knew.
â â
i really hope you guys liked this and it didnât disappoint đ¤ thank you so much for the support :-) iâm also very in love with the song being matched with camilo âi belong with you, you belong to me en nuestra casita ternura â AAAAA SHUT UP IM GONNA WRITE ANOTHER FF RN DONT TEMP ME >:(

10th Day: Just a Little Longer, Baby
Navi
Kazuha x gn!reader, Getou x gn!reader
Advent Calender
Warnings: Getou smokes weed (also, i don't know much about it, so I hope I depicted it alright)
Wordcount: about 200-300 each
âI feel like I´m forgetting something,â you sighed as you looked over the shopping list for the 100th time.
âWhat is it?â Kazuha asked, peeking over your shoulder in curiosity. âAh, is this for the celebration Lumine invited us to?â
âYes. I´ve written down all the ingredients I need for the cookies we wanted to bring, and I´m sure the presents we both decided on are also on here, but I just-â
âI mean, we still have time. How about I make us a hot drink and I read you something while we lay in bed?â he suggested.
Your eyes narrowed in suspicion.
âAre you sure you´re not just too lazy to do the shopping?â
Kazuha laughed sheepishly.
âI just want to spend some time with you, my love,â he said, softly, arms gently embracing you from behind.
âLove, I want to spend time with you too, but we´re invited for tomorrow. Brunch. And it´s nearly a two-hour drive. We can spend time together buying and baking everything together.â
He hummed, considering your argument.
âBut-â
âKazuha,â you warned him, eliciting a pretty laugh from him.
âI´m not doing anything, dear. I just feel like it is my duty to hold you. And right now, that is my priority.â
You sighed, nuzzling against his cheek. After casting one last glance at the list, you stood up and turned around to face your boyfriend.
âI have to admit, your idea does sound good.â
Kazuha sent you a victorious smile.
âIt does, doesn´t it?â
âYou feel better now, Sugu?â You brushed his hair to the side, watching him as he laid on your lap.
He hummed, breathing out in contentment. Sweet smell hit your nose and your eyes fluttered close for a moment, feeling slightly lightheaded. Getou snorted.
âYou´re so cute, baby. All hazy with just a little bit?â
âNot used to it,â you told him, yawning.
â´s good for your sleep.â
âMmh. Makes you feel a bit better.â
His eyes softened.
âYeah.â He took another drag, smiling lazily up at you and running his thumb over your cheek as he puffed the smoke back out. âYou know what´s gonna make me feel even better though?â
âWhat?â
âGoing to the big mall and looking at the decoration. Getting some hot chocolate and sweet snacks.â
You laughed.
âBut I already have a sweet snack in my lap,â you teased. He snorted, before pushing himself up.
âTrust me, baby, ´s gonna be a whole lot better having two snacksâ

Scaramouche & Zhongli Here | Part 2 Here
You Die!
You ran as fast as your feet would carry you, desperate for an escape. A scream erupted from your lips as the ground shook beneath you, causing you to stumble and fall over. You had received an emergency request to help fight⌠someone. The request wasnât very detailed but someone needed help and you couldnât turn your back on them. So, you went ahead and tried to help.
You shouldâve been careful. You shouldâve brought help. But you didnât and you were paying for your stupidity. The person that you were fighting was strong. She was tall, pale, and had long black hair. Her unearthly glowing green eyes were terrifying. She was fast and all of your attacks were unable to touch her.
As you ran, only one thought crossed your mind. The smiling image of your boyfriend. Tears welled up in your eyes, blurring your vision as you tried to run. How you wished you could be in his arms, feeling safe and sound.
As you ran out of the forest and down the field, the woman appeared in front of you, catching you in her arms and stabbing you with a poison dagger. You shrieked as your hands curled around her clothes. The sharp pain turned into a burning sensation and you looked up at her. Her face was inches away and she smirked, her eyes glowing bright by the second.
âFinally. But youâre not the only one I wanted to break.â What? What did she mean? Her head turned to the left and you followed her gaze and the second you saw what she was looking at, your heart shattered.
The woman pulled the dagger out and it seemed to vanish as she smirked at your boyfriend. The tears slid down your cheeks as you weakly reached out to him for help.

â(F/N)!â His heart stopped as he watched the woman disappear and you fall to the floor. He sprinted to you, picking you up in his arms as blood poured out of the wound. âH-hey! Hey, keep your eyes open! J-Just stay awake!â He held your head against his chest, trying to calm himself, but how could he? You were bleeding out in front of him.Â
He looked down and ran his fingers along your cheek as your skin started to turn purple. The poison had taken its effect and it was moving fast. You were leaving, you would leave him just like Lumine left him. He was gonna be alone all over again.
âA-Aether⌠I-I l-love you.â
âI love you too! Youâll be fine, everythingâs g-gonna be ok.â Who was he kidding? You werenât going to make it. But he couldnât admit it. Aether still had yet to find Lumine and heâd never gotten over losing her. You, you were his light. You were his guiding start. You were his moon, his everything.Â
To think that he could lose you? No, no! He didnât want it. He didnât want a world without you. A world without you was pure torture. So why? Why was the universe so hellbent on taking things away from him? Why did it demand everything precious to him?!
Why you?Â
A pained cry left his lips as your hand fell to your side and that light disappeared from your eyes. âN-no. No, no, no, no! W-wake up! Please wake up! Do-donât leave me! Donât you leave me too! Not like this! PLEASE DONâT LEAVE ME!â He held your lifeless body against him, his head pressed against your chest. He couldnât hear it⌠he couldnât hear your heartbeat.

âNo⌠NO!â He ran as fast as his feet could carry him and caught you before you hit the ground. The woman had disappeared but he didnât care. You were⌠you were dying! How could he stop it? He wanted to stop the bleeding, he wanted to stop the way your color was changing, he wanted to stop time!
âK-Kaeya⌠h-how-â
âI was told to come here. A messenger came to me and said you called me and told me to come here.â He explained, taking your cold hand into his, pressing a kiss against it.
âI-Iâm sorryâŚâ
âNo. Donât apologize and donât close your eyes. Please, just stay up a little longer.â He wanted to pick you up and run to the nearest doctor, but he knew⌠it wasnât worth it. He wouldnât make it. Heâd never felt so worthless and weak. He swore to protect you and keep you safe and now that you needed him⌠he was useless.
âT-tiredâŚâ Slowly, your eyes closed and your hand fell limp in his. Kaeyaâs eyes widened as the tears slid down his cheek.
â(f-f/n)? B-baby! No, wait! Donât do this! Pl-please no!â He took your hand and pressed it against his cheek, but the second he loosened his grip, it fell. Kaeya shook his head, tears flooding down his cheek as a scream erupted from his mouth. â(F/N)!!!â
Slow. He was too slow. Why couldnât he be fast enough?! That woman, he knew her. He knew her and he vowed to hunt her down and tear her to shreds. But right nowâŚ
Venti picked you up with trembling hands, letting his now bloodied hands touch your cheek. He couldnât even talk, his voice quivered as he looked down into your eyes. No. This wasnât happening. You werenât going to leave him like this.
âH-hey, love. E-everythingâs going to be just fine. Youâre fine.â He tried to keep his smile up but it was so damn hard when he knew the truth. He couldnât do anything, he couldnât even lie to himself. You were slipping away and all he could do was watch. He knew he was the weakest of all archons but why? Why couldnât he be a little bit stronger to save you.
âI-I wa-wanna sl-sleep-â
âNO!â He frowned and pressed a kiss to your lips. âNo, donât sleep. Not yet. Just stay awake a little longer and then we can both sleep together tonight.â You weakly nodded, but you couldnât stay awake any longer. You felt like you were moving, but your body was slowly going numb, until everything disappeared. â(f/n)? (f-f/n)? H-hey! Hey this isnât a joke! WAKE UP! WAKE UP, PLEASE, PLEASE WAKE UP!â
The second he saw the woman step away from you, a fiery phoenix flew towards her, but sheâd disappeared before it could hit her. Diluc ran to you as he watched your body fall to the ground.
He fell to his knees and quickly picked you up, shaking you a little. There was something that snapped inside. Heâd always kept his composure, but after seeing what had happened, his emotions burst out of him. He wasnât in control of anything. He couldnât control his thoughts, emotions⌠or your death.
âItâll be fine! Everythingâs fine!â He said, pressing his hand to the wound. You winced at the pain as your skin started to turn purple and blood spilled out of your mouth.
âI-Iâm so-sorry.â He shook his head, taking your face in his hands.
âNo. Iâm sorry. I sh-shouldâve gotten here faster.â He was still trying to convince himself you were going to be fine, but deep down, he knew the truth. He knew the ugly truth that was coming up.
âD-Diluc⌠y-youâre pretty.â His eyes clenched shut at your words as a tear slid down his cheek.
âDonât leave. Th-there are so many things I-I want to do with you. Pl-please donât leave me. Wh-what d-do I do?â You smiled weakly at him.
âY-you b-be the Darknight H-heroâŚâ He scoffed and looked down at you.
âWithout you⌠Iâm nothing.â You wanted to say more, you wanted to deny his words, but you were so tired. Slowly, the world faded away and you could no longer hear his cries. âNo! NO! NO!! DONâT DO THIS TO ME! STOP! COME BACK! PLEASE BRING MY (F/N) BACK!â
The wolf within had appeared but he wasnât able to catch up before the woman disappeared. He ran to you and picked you up, seeing the blood gushing out of the wound.
âN-no! (f/n)!â Tears flooded his eyes as he watched your color turn purple. That woman, she reeked of poison so she mustâve poisoned you.
âShhhâŚâ You muttered, holding your hand to his cheek. âD-donât c-cry.â He didnât know what to do. He felt so lost and helpless, but the worst part⌠he knew what was coming. He shook his head vehemently and tried to pick you up, but you let out a cry of pain, making him lower you back down.
âI c-can save you!â
âI-itâs ok⌠itâs ok, Razor. I⌠Iâll be ok.â He hated those words. He hated everything you were saying so much. Razor adored you, he missed you every second he couldn't be with you and normally, heâd never hate your words. But today⌠right now, he hated how right you were. He shook his head as the tears slid down his cheeks as he felt you slip away.
âDo-donât do this t-to me. Not you too⌠they left me. Why do you want to leave me too?â You weakly tugged him down and made him kiss you, but half way through the kiss, he felt your head fall back and he knew. You were gone.
He knew that woman that had done this to you. He knew her and he was going to make sure she paid. But right now⌠right now you were more important. Xiao took you in his arms as tears started to fill his eyes. Heâd never felt like this before and he hated feeling like this.
You made him feel so powerful, so invincible, so untouchable. But right now, he felt so vulnerable and broken. If he had been faster, if he had just gotten here faster he couldâve saved you. He couldâve been hugging you, seeing your skin bright with life, seeing your glimmering eyes, seeing that dazzling smile. But no, he was a failure.
A sob escaped his lips as he watched you starting to slip away. He pulled you close, pressing a kiss to your forehead.
âD-donât do this. Pl-please donât leave me. Y-you pro-promised you w-wouldnât do this to me!â He looked down at you but you still had that angelic smile on your face. Why? Why would you do this?! You touched his cheek and spoke; your voice was a quiet whisper, but he heard it.
âI-I love y-you, XiaoâŚâ He shook his head and glared at the sky before shutting his eyes. He didnât want to see it. He didnât want to see this happening to you.
âI love you too. S-so much.â He felt your body go limp and another sob escaped his lips. âY-you pr-promised youâd c-come back to me.â He raised your face closer to him and pressed a kiss against your lips. âP-please come back to me. I-I canât live without you⌠I do-donât want to.â
He sprinted down the hill towards where you lay, gathering you in his arms when he was at the bottom. He didnât know what to do, there was so much blood, so much poison, and no hope. He fell beside you and pressed his hands onto the wound as blood gushed out.
âNo, no, no, no, no, no, itâs ok, itâs ok, everythingâs just fine!â You winced in pain in your torso, but it didnât last very long. It only took a minute before you lost feeling in your legs and arms.
âXingqiu⌠i-it hurts.â
âI know, I know and Iâm so sorry! If I was faster, I couldâve helped you. Itâll be ok, I promise, my love. I wonât stop until youâre taken care of.â Why didnât he believe his own words? Maybe it was the fading light in your eyes, maybe it was the color draining from your face, maybe it was the sheer amount of blood that poured from the wound⌠but Xingqiu didnât have a single ounce of hope. Why? Why was the world doing this to him? Why was it punishing you like this? Did he do something? Did he commit a sin that was so unforgivable that the universe or the gods would punish someone as sweet and amazing as you?
He wanted to cry, but he bit his lip to hold the tears back. His eyes were glossy and his vision was blurry, but he refused to cry. He wasnât going to show you the fleeting hope in him. He wasnât going to show you that he was a liar.
âXingqiu⌠w-will y-you g-give me one l-last kiss?â His head snapped to you and he shook his head.
âIt wonât be our last kiss! Weâll have more chances. Weâll have so many more chances.â He did kiss you however. It was short and sweet, as he returned to applying pressure onto the wound. His eyes flickered to you for a second before his entire body tensed. You were staring at the sky⌠with dull, lifeless eyes. â(f-f/n)? H-hey⌠hey wake up.â He gently shook your shoulders. âHey, stop. Th-this isnât funny! I know you like playing tricks on me but this isnât funny! St-stop!!â Finally, he broke. He laid his head on your chest as his tears started to flow.Â
âNO!â Oh, he knew that woman well. Heâd worked with her once. She was, indeed, powerful. She was a killing machine and there was a time where he was impressed by her. But right now he felt nothing but pure hatred for her. But that had to wait, because you⌠you were dying.
Childe pulled you into his arms, holding you against his chest and kissing your head. He was trembling and his emotions were a mess. Tears trailed down his cheeks as he looked down at you. The wound oozed with red and purple, so he knew youâd been poisoned.
âH-hey, darling. You ok? Everythingâs just gonna be ok, you hear me?â You gave him a weak nod as you looked down at the wound. However, he took your face and made you look up at him. âNo, no. Just look at me. Nothing but me.â
âI-I wonât⌠Iâm tired.â
âHEY! Donât you dare close those beautiful eyes on me! Everythingâs going to be fine! Everything⌠everything is fine. Do you hear me? Donât you dare even think about leaving me. Donât you⌠donât do it. Please, god Iâm begging you (f/n)! Donât leave me all alone in this world!â
âI-I ca-canât stayâŚâ
âYes, y-yes you can! You canât leave me, please d-donât.. I-I donât know what to do! What am I supposed to do?! Just go on, pretending everythingâs ok?! JUST PRETEND LIKE THE LOVE OF MY LIFE DIDNâT LEAVE ME?!â
âShh⌠d-donât get so angry.â
âI-â He sighed, taking in a shaky breath, âI love you so much i-itâs hard to breathe without you. Do-donât take away m-my reason for li-living.â You didnât answer. You only weakly smiled before your eyes closed and your head fell back. Childeâs eyes widened and he shook his head. âN-no. No- HEY! No, no, no! Please no!â He held you against his chest as he let out a scream. What else could he do besides cry.

Your boyfriend stood up, holding you tightly in his arms. There was only one thought in his mind as he glared in the direction the woman had gone.Â
There was nothing left for him. So he wouldnât stop; he would relentlessly hunt that woman down and tear her apart completely. That way, she could feel an ounce of his pain.

Hanamakki takahiro +college au + getting drunk + one bed + âStop looking at me like that!â
The thought for this is your in college and you get drunk with your friend makki and just sleep on the same bed together and begin to recall everything that happened
Love your writing and happy milestone <3
thank u!!! hope u enjoy some of our favorite strawberry boy <3
hanamaki takahiro + âstop looking at me like that!â + college au + getting drunk + one bed (fic)
âHm?â The person taking up seventy-five percent of your bed makes a snuffling noise as you lift your head up, distancing yourself so youâre not quite pressed flush to them as you were. Blinking blearily and trying to gather your fuzzy thoughts, you notice that the bed is not in fact yours, that youâre not wearing pants (but you are wearing fuzzy socks), and that the stranger in your bed is actually your best friend.
Also, the sun is really, really bright, and possibly trying to kill you.
You screw your eyes shut, trying to block out the evil luminance, and let your head fall back onto the pillow, getting a faceful of pink hair for it. Like this, the way you were sleeping, you notice that Takahiro is lying on his back, head turned away from you, snoring on every other breath, while youâre on your side, one arm thrown over him and cuddled up to his side like youâre â well. Cuddling.
Itâs probably late by now, which means that the whole day is gone and you should just go back to sleep until your hangover and your confusion go away and tomorrow starts, fresh and clean. Youâd planned for this, anyway, because every time you drink with your friends, it ends up taking you out for the next day anyway. Youâre no Oikawa, who seems perfectly able to get up at seven A.M. two hours after he went to bed and be as peppy as usual. You hate Oikawa.
âIf you keep drinking like that, youâre gonna have a killer hangover tomorrow,â Takahiro said, leaning his elbows on the table and tilting his head.
âUh-huh,â you hummed, pouring yourself another shot and trying to keep yourself from coughing as it went down. âYou donât need to tell me every time. I know what Iâm doing.â
âOkay, feisty drunk,â his grin was lost on you as he stood up straight and wrapped an arm around your shoulders. âGimme some of that.â
He took your glass from your hands and guided you toward the couch, your stumbling feet moving almost without your notice. You collapsed on top of him when you reached it, your back on his thighs, your head dangling so that the top of it touches the couch, your feet in Iwaizumiâs lap.
âOi, you kicked my drink,â the athletic trainer said heatlessly.
âSorry, Iwa,â you said, and threw an arm over your eyes. âOh, wow, why is the room doing that?â
âItâs doing what, pretty?â Takahiro asked.
âDonât laugh at me,â you whined, trying to blindly smack him with your other arm but only hitting unfeeling sofa. âYouâre such an asshole.â
âIâm not laughing at you,â he said, but his tone implied differently. You reached out again and connected successfully with his arm. âOw! That hurt.â
âDeserved,â you said smugly. âStop being high and mighty. I know youâre gonna throw up tomorrow.â
âYeah, but youâll be there to pat my back because youâre too drunk to get home and you donât trust driving services, so itâs worth it.â
âMaybe I just like staying over,â you said. âYou always let me have the bed.â
âYou mean we usually share,â he arched an eyebrow.
âYeah,â you hummed. âYouâre the best bed.â
It was a stupid compliment, but when you lowered your arm and peered up at him, his cheeks were pink.
You grumble and squeeze Takahiro tighter. Last night is coming back to you in bits and pieces, and remembering what you did while three sheets to the wind is never an ego-inflating experience.
âHiro,â you said, your words slurred. âWhatâre you doing?â
âGoing to sleep,â He answered, though the sentence sounded more like a question than a statement.
âWhyâre you all the way over there?â You reached out weakly, with all the air of someone on their deathbed. âHiro⌠come closer⌠I need to tell you something.â
Unwillingly, he came to stand beside you, hands on his hips.
âCloser.â He bent his knees. âCloser.â He bent a little further. âCloser.â He let out an exaggerated sigh and put his ear next to your lips. You grabbed him and yanked him down, forcing him to roll into the bed with you. âDeez nuts,â you whispered loudly into his ear. He made a sound like a dying whale and laughed lowly into your ear, warm breath ghosting over your neck.
âIâll do you one better,â he said, putting two fingers under your chin. âLook at me.â
You turned your head, eyes wide with the promise of a secret.
âCloser.â The sheets rustled as you moved towards him until the two of you were nearly nose-to-nose. âThatâs â good. Thatâs good.â
âTell me,â you said, voice barely above a whisper.
âOkay,â he took a deep breath and shut his eyes, lovely lashes sweeping down toward his cheekbones. âI love you.â
It was silent. So, so silent. You couldnât hear the crickets chirping, the traffic outside, your own heartbeat.
You laughed.
âVery funny, Hiro. But I fell in love with you first.â
Oh, heavens.
You snatch your hand away from Takahiro like heâs on fire, vaulting out of the bed so quickly you land in a heap on the floor. From this new vantage point, you can see your clothes, and scramble over to scoop them up and put them on. You almost wish youâd taken them off in the usual circumstances someone drunkenly stripped, rather than the all-too-comfortable familiarity you felt around your best friend. And crush. AndâŚ
Heâs awake. You feel his eyes on you as you shove your legs into your pants, not turning around until youâve smoothed out every wrinkle in your outfit.
âSomeoneâs in a hurry,â his morning voice is so gravelly it sounds painful.
âItâs late afternoon, Takahiro, I have to get home.â You pause before you turn around. Everythingâs normal. Maybe he doesnât remember. âI canât believe I have to suffer a walk of shame when nothing even happened last night.â
âHey, thatâs not true.â Your jaw drops. Was there something you forgot? You thought you hadnât â surely you hadnât â âOh, shit, no, not like that. I meant, you know, what we said.â
You gape at him, face still in resting fish pose, completely at a loss for words.
âI love you?â Itâs so unfair how un-insecure he sounds. Like heâs merely reminding you of something as mundane as youâre a mammal or we need chips.
âWhat â I â I thought you were joking!â
âNo,â he says thoughtfully, shading his eyes with his hand and aiming your favorite smile at you. Thereâs pleasure in the squint of his eyes, in the lines of his mouth.
âStop looking at me like that,â you say, the breath taken from your lungs. âI canât deal with this.â
Youâre standing by the bed again, and his arm snakes out to grip your wrist loosely.
âI meant it,â he looks lost in a daydream, glowing like heâs the awful sun hurting your head. But you like looking at him. You like him a lot.
âI know,â you say quietly. âYou should get up.â
He groans and kicks off the sheets, and oh, his pale chest is on display, his joggers pushed low on his hips.
âYouâre such a hardass.â Your lips quirk into a smile.
âYou love it.â Then, before you can second-guess yourself, you drop a quick kiss onto his lips, lingering just long enough to feel him tilt his head up and back, enough for him to kiss you like youâre kissing him. Then you pull back, and he chases you a little, whining when you step away and back.
âIâll see you later,â you toss at him before shutting the door. A second later, you open it sheepishly, poking your head through. âI forgotâ I love you! Bye!â
He waves at you as you leave for good this time. Ah, Takahiro could get used to this.

Brooklyn Honey - Bucky Barnes x Reader
(Repost!) Hello, this is for the lovely @wkemeupââs 9k writing challenge. I decided to go with the song prompt âLife in the Cityâ by The Lumineers. It really reminded me of 40s Bucky.
Title: Brooklyn Honey
Summary: Life in the city ainât always so pretty, but youâve got Bucky and heâs got you. Â
Pairing: 1940s!Bucky Barnes x female!reader
Word count: 2.4k
Warnings: nah

***
âThatâs so not how you do it.â
âSorry, I mustâve missed the day you wrote the manual on how to put up curtains.â
âYou sure did, and I can tell you as an expert, the nails arenât supposed to resemble a mountain range.â
âSmartass. Câmere.â
Buckyâs palm opened and you took a nail, carefully tapping it into the wall.
âOr is it the skyline youâre going for?â
âYouâre pretty mouthy for an assistant.â
âI keep it interesting, doll.â
âIs that what weâre calling it?â
âJames Barnes, what on earth are you doing in there?!â
Your eyes went wide and you hurried to scramble off the chair you were standing on. Bucky put a hand on your back, shaking his head.
âBuckââ
âI got it, donât worry. Keep hammering.â
âButââ
âHoney, donât you trust me?â
âAbsolutely not.â
More knocking, faster and louder this time.
âComing, Mrs. Anderson!â
Bucky buttoned up his shirt, smoothing his pomade-slicked hair back, and went to answer.
You stepped down from the chair anyway, daring to peek around the corner.Â
He had his arms up, trying to fill the entire door frame and hide the obnoxiously yellow curtains you probably werenât supposed to have. Mrs. Anderson, Steve and Buckyâs busybody next door neighbor, was a small, shriveled, old woman with a perpetually pinched face that looked like it had been stored in a jar of formaldehyde for the last twenty years. She kept trying to look over Buckyâs shoulder but he wouldnât let her, moving when she did.
ââcouldâve sworn I heard hammering coming from this apartment.â
âOh! You mustâve heard me fixing my bike.âÂ
âYou donât have a bike, James.â
âDid I say my bike? I meant Steveâs.â
âSteve rides a bike?â
âAbsolutely. Keeps him fit.â
âI donât recall seeing him everââ
âWell, bye, Mrs. Anderson! Always a pleasure to see you, maâam.â
She gave another stern look before shaking her head, walking away.
You sighed as Bucky shut the door with his foot, a too sly smile on his face.
âDidnât I tell you to trust me?â
âI think you might be a worse liar than Steve.â
âWell, ouch, doll.â
âFirst of all, whoâs ever heard of needing a hammer to fix a bike?â
âWe can be the first.â
âNext time, Iâm answering the door.â
You clambered back onto the chair, returning to knocking in the nails.Â
âI still donât understand why you wanted curtains in the first place.âÂ
âIt adds a homely touch, doll. Arenât you the one whoâs always complaining about how drab this place is?â
âOf course, but itâs not my apartment.âÂ
âIt could be, with how often youâre over,â Bucky said sweetly.Â
âKeep dreaming, Barnes.âÂ
âI will,â he assured with a smile that could melt butter.Â
You shook your head and returned to focus on the curtains. True, the first one was beyond help in terms of nail placement, but the least you could do was try and make the next one even.Â
Bucky had offered at least ten times to do it himself but there was no way he was getting his hands on a hammer after what had happened when heâd tried to install some shelves last winter.Â
Besides, you were better at decorating when it came down to it. At least, thatâs what Bucky kept insisting, letting you do essentially anything you wanted to the apartment.Â
The chair suddenly groaned under additional weight and you startled as you felt the side of a body press against yours.Â
âHowâs it goinâ?â
âBucky, this chair really isnât meant for two people.âÂ
âYou sure? Seems pretty sturdy to me.âÂ
âYeah, Iâm sure.â
Bucky wrapped an arm around your waist and you fixed him with a look.Â
âWhat? Donât want you to fall.â
âHow valiant of you.â
âAinât it?â
He hopped off before you could scold him further, grinning up at you.Â
âBeer?â
âYeah, thanks.â
Bucky disappeared and returned a minute later with an open bottle for you, holding it so you could sip safely while still perched on the chair.
Then you kept hammering, eyes narrowed as you focused on not hitting anything other than the nail.
Bucky watched from the floor as you did so, leaning back on his hands.
âWhatâre you looking at?â you asked after a while, glancing at him from the corner of your eye.
He shrugged, a gentle smile on his face.
âThe city.â
***
âHoney, Iâm home!â
âWhat did I say about that, Barnes?â
âYou said⌠youâll love me for all eternity because youâre as sweet as honey?â
âI think it was more along the lines of, âdonât call me honey unless you mean it.ââ
âI always mean it, Y/N.â
And that was a little more sincerity than you were willing to explore, so you pointed to the bag instead.
âWhatâs that?â
Bucky grinned, setting a giant paper sack on the counter.
âLemons.â
âWhat?â
âLemons. You know, the little yellow fruits that make you do this?â
Bucky puckered his mouth and smacked his tongue, eyes screwed shut.
âLemonâs not a fruit.â
âIt sure is! Fruit got seeds. Read that in a book about agriculture. We produce a lot of corn, did you know that?â
âOkay, Bucky, the presiding question still remains: why do you have every lemon in the city?â
âThere was a good deal at the docks. Dirt cheap for produce. Some guys told me they were takinâ some home for their wives. Didnât want you to feel left out.â
âIâm not your wife.â
Bucky just grinned. You rolled your eyes.
âI don't know who taught you this, but the way to a girlâs heart is not twenty pounds of lemons.â
âThink of all the lemonade we can make.â
âUnless youâve also got FDR and his cabinet in those bags, weâre gonna have a lot of leftovers.â
âLook at it this way: no vitamin C deficiency. One less thing to worry âbout.â
âBucky.â
âTheyâre not all lemons, doll. I got other stuff too. Tomatoes, cabbage, snuck some cucumbers, even bananas.â
You sighed, smiling tiredly. This ration was taking its toll on everyone. You knew Bucky was doing his best, had seen the vegetables and thought of you and how much you missed having cucumber salad and tomato sandwiches like you used to.
âThank you, Bucky, really. I appreciate you.â
You brushed past him to begin preparing the excess vegetables you three wouldnât eat this week to pickle. Salt and sugar was going to be hard to gather, but youâd manage. You always did.
âWelcome, doll.âÂ
He beamed, eyes full of warmth as he watched you.Â
âYou gonna stay for dinner?â
âI dunno. Seems like Steveâs gettinâ kinda tired of me,â you laughed.
âNever. âSides, even if he was, doesnât matter.â
âOh, really?â
âNope. âCause you stay for me.â
âAnd where did you get that idea from?â
He shrugged.
âSeemed kinda obvious, doll. Youâre smitten, admit it.â
âOh dear, youâve got me all figured out. However did you know?â
âIâm a bright fella.â
âUh-huh.â
âYou ainât saying noâŚâ
âReally, I have to say no? Canât you tell I only stick around for the great deals you get on produce?âÂ
âBut itâs me that gets the great deals, so really, youâre still staying for me.âÂ
Bucky was against the counter now, shoulder to shoulder with you.Â
You sighed, hand on your hip as you stared at the table.Â
âWhat the hell are we going to do with all these lemons?âÂ
âWeâll figure something out. Always do, donât we?â
You hummed, leaning your head on his shoulder, aware he was talking about more than the lemons.Â
âYeah. We always do.âÂ
***
Steve had been home for a while, wordlessly letting you in when youâd shown up an hour ago. You didnât have to explain anything to him anymore.Â
The record player was on, crooning gently. Steve was in the corner, drawing, away from the window after the breeze had whipped his papers around one too many times.
âCanât believe theyâre building another skyscraper down on Lawrence.â
Steve frowned.
âReally? Wonât be able to see the sunset now.â
âYeah. And Brooklynâs not exactly known for its scenery to begin with. Saw a rat and a pigeon fighting over a pretzel this morning.â
Steve chuckled from the floor, shaking his head.
âTimes are tough. Even for rats and pigeons.âÂ
âSure are.â
âNice curtains, by the way. I like the color.â
âOh. Yeah. Sorry. Did Bucky askâ?â
âNo,â he answered, smile evident in his voice. âBut thatâs alright. I know heâs just tryinâ to gauge what you like.â
âWhat?â
âYeah, after the warâs over and all, heâs gonna try and buy a nicer place.â
âAnd he wants my furnishing tips?â
Steve shrugged, gaze soft and knowing.
âGuess so.â
You cleared your throat, pushing a lock of hair behind your ear.
âWant some lemonade?â
âJesus, thereâs more? I thought weâd run out of bushels.â
âYouâd think, right? I put âem in the icebox so they wonât spoil so fast.â
âSure, yeah. Thanks, Y/N.â
You were in the middle of stirring the pitcher when Bucky came in.
He didnât greet you or Steve immediately, like he usually did, instead setting down his keys, then slapping the mail onto the table.Â
âWell, hey there, mister. Fancy a drink? Todayâs special is sour lemonade, your favorite.â
Bucky looked up, startled, and glanced at the pitcher before nodding, attempting a half smile.
âSure, doll. Thanks.â
âEverything okay, Buck?â
He nodded, slipping away to the bathroom with a sigh.
You turned to Steve, who shrugged.
âLong day at the docks, I guess.â
***
June twelfth. That was when Bucky was being shipped out, somewhere in Europe, too far from you. This entire year youâd been holding your breath, hoping, needing the draft to leave him alone.Â
Now they were taking him away from you in less than a week.Â
You were in the apartment, lying on the floor, on Buckyâs second to last day. Thatâs how he found you upon coming home.Â
âTrying to count all the cracks in the ceiling, doll? Youâll be here all night.â
You had a glass of lemonade by your head, spiked with a bit of rum. It was already warm, because it was summer and things were supposed to be warm in the summer.
The curtains danced in front of the window, yellow like sunshine and all those goddamn lemons in the freezer. The only respite from an otherwise colorless world.
âThis city is so ugly.â
Bucky looked up at the sound of your voice. He walked over, crouching by your arm.
âThink so?â
âYeah. Canât find a single pretty thing in the city.â
âI can.â
âCan you?â
âSure. Sheâs looking at me right now.â
âThat was sappy.â
âYes it was.â
Bucky lay down, rolling onto his side next to you, taking a sip from your glass.
âBut I ainât mean it any less.â
You hummed, closing your eyes.
âWell, for what itâs worth then, I think youâre handsome.â
âOh, yeah?â
You could hear his proud smile.
âDonât make me take it back.â
âNo, Iâm just surprised to hear it is all.â
âSurprised, huh? Iâm certain I ainât the first one to call you handsome.â
âYouâre the only one I wanna hear it from.â
Something fluttered in your chest.
âWhat dâyou say then? You and I, think we can take on a city as ugly as ours?â
He smiled.
âWith you, doll?â
âYeah.â
âWith you, of course.â
âGood. Iâm gonna hold you to that.â
Bucky propped his head up on his elbow. It was quiet again, with only your occasional sighs and his quiet breaths.
âWhatâre you looking at?â you breathed, opening your eyes.
âYou.â
Bucky flicked a drop of lemonade from the tip of your nose.
You turned, now face to face.
And oh, Buckyâs blues. Those had been your color even before the curtains.
âIâm gonna miss you,â you blurted.
He smiled a little sadly.
âGonna miss you too, Y/N.â
You pushed your lips together, taking a deep breath.
âYou were right, you know.â
ââBout what?â
âThat day when you brought home all those lemons. You said that I stay for you.â
Buckyâs lips quirked, gaze fond like it always was.
âAll those times I stayed for dinner and pretended to know what I was doing putting up those curtains. I stayed for you.â
You wiped your nose quickly, sniffling.
âAnd Iâm gonna keep staying.â
âYeah? What if the bridge collapses tomorrow?â
âIâll swim.â
âEven in the winter?â
âIâll get myself a pair of ice skates.â
âYou donât know how to skate, doll.â
âThatâs right. So you better come back safe and teach me.â
Bucky leaned in, nose brushing your cheek. He rolled over and carefully straddled you, holding his weight.
âIâll be there, honey.â
âNow what did we say about that?â
Buckyâs eyebrows pinched in thought.
âDonât say it if I donât mean it?â
You hummed, pulling him closer, arms around his neck. Buckyâs lips were a millimeter from yours, breath fanning over your chin.
âMm, I think it was something about eternity.â
Bucky was soft, tangy and sweet. His scruff scraped your cheek and your fingers curled into the baby hairs at the nape of his neck.
He slid his hands under your back and turned so you were on top, head on his chest. You lay like that for a while, listening to his heartbeat, arms strong around you.Â
Yellow fluttered in the breeze, tacked unevenly onto the wall, catching your eye.Â
Bucky glanced to the side, chuckling.
âDonât let Anderson take our curtains away.â
âOf course not. I spent a weekend on those. Sheâll have to fight me for âem.â
âGood God. Now I gotta worry about you brawling with old ladies and Steve getting into alley fights while Iâm gone?â
âNah. Steveâll help me.â
âOh, great.â
You reached up, brushing his jaw with your knuckles.
âCall me honey again.â
âHoney, honey, honey.â
You reached up to get just one last kiss, except it definitely wasnât going to be the last. It couldnât be.
âTheyâre not gonna take you away from me.â
Bucky shook his head, kissing you much slower this time, trying to memorize you before time ran out.
âNever. âM gonna think of you and Iâll be back âfore we know it.â
You nodded, wishing hard, hoping somebody was listening.Â
âThen, when I come back,â he whispered, promise riding on the summer air.
âWeâre gonna make the best damn lemonade youâve ever had.â
And maybe this city could take away your sunsets, your tea and jams, even your summer.
But if there was anything that was yours and yours only, it was the lemon pulp on Buckyâs lips and the undissolved sugar on your own, as bitter and pretty as home.

Heya! Can I request an Aether/Lumine & reader?
So reader is basically an immortal half-elf who've lived for centuries and a well refined fighter. Well at the beginning even tho they volunteered to tag along on traveler's journey to find their sibling, reader is rather obnoxious and a lazy-dork who only help when actually needed. But as the journey continues, they began to act like traveler's bodyguard after witnessing (archon quest spoiler!) traveler almost getting killed by the Shogun? And maybe random shenanigans happen between them (ft.Paimon). I don't mind if you do either Aether or Lumine if you feel pressured đ
Hi! This kind are my favorites! Tysm for requesting! (ŕš>âĄ<ŕš)
I did this with Aether since he is my favorite is who I chose, and I feel more comfortable writing with guys than with girls.
I know they have some different personalities but I can help but see Lumine as the all mighty abyss princess.
Hope you enjoy!

Aether always thought that immortality brought with it wisdom, beings who live for much longer than an ordinary human tend to gain an understanding of life and changes in the world after years of appreciating the passing of the ages.
But when he met you he couldn't help but feel that all his beliefs were based on fiction and old rumors from other worlds. You were anything but wise, not even his first choice to be the voice of reason.
Even Paimon takes her role as his guide seriously.
But what was so wrong about you that get him on his nerves all the time? And most important, why does is he still dealing with you?
To be fair, maybe he was waiting a little too much from you. After all, he always forget that you still have half of a humanâs nature.
âMmh? What are you doing?â You asked Aether the first time he removed your hair from your ears to see if they were pointy. They were, and Paimon yelled kind of a objection when she realize she had to pay for losing their bet.
Not a human, not a elf, but a hybrid between them.
The first encounter was really something he would never forget. Rumors about treasures and requests from the guild made them follow some clues to find a cave that was marked as lost, impossible to enter and explore.
But âimpossibleâ is a word that doesnât exist their vocabulary. Yet is common that regretting comes along when youâre that bold and risky.
At the very end of that strange cave there wasnât a treasure waiting, not even a new clue to keep going with the mystery. Instead, was a humanoid silhouette, they seemed to be meditating, not showing a single interest in their voices neither getting nervous because of Aether and Paimon taking some steps forward to have a better look.
But they were breathing, and both could see the pupils moving slightly under their eyelids. Eyebrows twitching now and then, like they were having a nightmare, one of which they couldnât wake up.
Paimon encouraged him to get even closer to shake that person's shoulder, while she was hiding behind some rocks, obviously.
Aether summoned his sword and then he approached slowly until touching them with his fingertips, waiting for some kind of jumpscare.
The stranger raised their arm, carefully but also in a robotic way. Their fingers were tense, as much that it was painful just looking at them. Like a quiet call, like a order that couldnât be heard, from the pile of rocks where Paimon was hiding something emerge, breaking through the stone and letting a rusty polearm to be seen.
Their fingers closed around the weapon, bringing them back to reality.
âMaster and weapon, reunited again, rise so the world can meet their end!â
Or at least that's what he would have preferred to find. A servant guarding a lost relic, a soulless body moving by a curse, perhaps even a fate that death could not prevent.
But instead it was something really underwhelming, something that broke the mystical and strange atmosphere. That person opened their eyes, annoyed by the light of the torches and disoriented by the situation.
With their body in pain and numb at the same time, how long have they slept in that position?
The first thing they did after waking up was sneezing.
âSo much dustâŚâ
Never accepting missions for exploring legendary caves ever again. Nope. Negative. He refuse to.
What if they find another (Y/N)? Thanks, but no. One is more than enough.
âSo what you mean is that your parents' families exiled you and locked you up in the cave for being an âabominationâ to both species?â Paimon confirmed once the three of you were back in the surface again. Her hands moving side to side to explain -in a very expressive way- everything you told them.
âIt seems that we found the remains of an ancient race that used to exist in Teyvat.â Aether said, still surprised by the way you roamed to feel the wood of the trees and the grass under your bare feet. Kind of heartbreaking.
âLike the boar we found with Xiangling!â
He wasnât sure if it was okay to compare both encounters but he could see her point.
â⌠âWait for usâ, they told me, âthink about your existence and find the answer to why your conception is not the atrocity that everyone says you are. May their words not reach you, because we have long ears to hear the words of the gods and not the ones of those who defile earthâ⌠â You pronounced after decades of not needing to use the language you were taught, with one hand on your chin and eyes closed to concentrate. All you had left was the few memories you preserved inside your mind and heart.
âWith âtheyâ you mean your parents?â
You nodded.
âAnd what happened next?⌠â Asked back the tiny companion of the blond guy that rescued you.
âI got bored and I fell asleep.â You admitted, carefree about it, shrugging your shoulders and sighing.
A total waste of your youth.
âEh!? Then you didnât thought about those things? That sounded important!â Paimon seemed disappointed for your answer, while Aether held his forehead, without having a clue of how he was supposed to react.
That was the day you joined their party! New team member, (Y/N) strikes in!
Or something like that,,
âH-Hey! We could use a hand over here!⌠woah!â The little white girl scold you but from your high sit on the top of a big rock only a exaggerated yawning can be heard. Paimon crossed her arms to almost immediately duck down to dodge a fire bullet from the Fatui. Aether didnât say anything, he was concentrated fighting.
âOh, yeah⌠Youâre doing great. Go, Aether, goâŚâ
âWas that supposed to be a cheering?!â
âHey, calm downâ You said âHe doesnât need my help. Just take a look, heâs an adventurer. If I meddle it will be really boring for him.â
âHmp! Now Paimon believes that you were lying when you said that you were a well refined fighter!â She was floating around you, ignoring the battle of his blond friend. Like a pesky bee, the only thing you did was avoiding her furious gaze. âDonât ignore Paimon! How can you not hear with those ears!? Thatâs it! Paimon will give you a ugly nickname!â
âWhat about âextinct deaf elf-derâ?â
âYeah, thatâs a good one!â She agreed immediately, then she shook her head, pointing at you like a guilty criminal. âWait, Paimon doesnât need your suggestions!â
When the last Fatui was defeated Aether turned back to face both of you, sighing because of the new arguing between you two. His sword disappeared and some steps were took to get closer.
Your eyes met each other, a slight smile in your face after looking him safe and sound. So confident but so unaware of the remain danger hiding. Your expression became a surprised one, then your gaze sharped like a killer sight.
You left Paimon on top of the rock when you jumped down, summoning your own weapon you ran straight to where Aether was. The traveler panicked just a fraction of second before loosing sight of you.
Next thing they know was that a you were behind him, facing at the nothing with a defensive pose, just a second of silence before a impact could be heard. Some dirt and dust was lift as the pair of Fatui Pyro Agents became visible again. They stayed there, defeated in one hit.
âLike I said. It would be pretty boring if I meddle...â Aether and Paimon were shocked, none of them felt their presence, not even the heat of the pyro delusion. Your weapon disappeared in the air, and your hands rested on your waist. âDear Seven, that was intense.â Looking at your friends you sighed, with the laziness on your body language. âIt was my turn to cook dinner, right? What a pain having to eat again⌠â
Acting that relaxed after that really made them went Ă_Ă and Ă
A silent speech, where devotion and gratitude are the best topics of conversation. The message that is heard even if thereâs no words in between. Just a exchange of gazes. Little signs of affection that are shown when itâs necessary.
Your family was gone. No clues about their whereabouts couldâve found in that cave of where you came. Not even the skeletons of a couple holding their hands and petrified in a sobbing position. Not even ashes.
When you have been thinking about the most unimportant things in the universe for so long you can deal with the lost faster than anyone else. Getting the idea of no remain evidence of your parents and feeling that it wasnât that heartbreaking.
Maybe because you gained a new family almost immediately.
Still you could empathize with Aether, he still had his precious memories with his sister, still remember her face and her voice. And most important was that he knew that she was still roaming Teyvat, waiting for him.
Even if they leave behind Paimon and you at the end of the trip.
Or even if they just leave you behind.
âIâm okay with that.â
You thought, stroking Paimonâs hair when her head found a comfortable place to rest in your lap. You thought, moving your shoulder so Aether wouldnât have neck pain. Both sleeping peacefully and you staying awake night by night.
Youâve slept enough, for so long besides.
Somehow the flames of the campfire are warmer now that you have someone to look how the fire dance in the night.
âˇâšâˇâšâˇâšâˇâšâˇâšâˇâš âˇâšâˇâš âˇâšâˇâš âˇâš âˇ
âI see, so you were serious when you told me that your companion was a mystical extinct creature, werenât you?â Albedoâs hand went up to hold his chin, analyzing you from distance.
âThey are half of it, actually.â Aether answered back, notice how Sucrose was asking you permission to check your features. The sparkle in her eyes made you accept her petition after feeling with the back against the wall.
âYour ears are like mine! Look, look!â Klee pulled your shirt, then she pointed at the side of her head.
â⌠Still the shape of both are quite different, the length too.â
Years of isolation really are hitting hard right now. You felt overwhelmed and somehow shy when Sucrose hold your face to have a better look.
You follow the traveler to everywhere, no matter the place, you were there. Like a shadow, sometimes just a spectator, other times like an actual active team member.
âWho wouldâve tell that our Honorary Knight also has his own knight watching his back.â Kaeyaâs voice has that joke but charming tone, as always.
Day after day, itâs the same, everyone talking you through Aether. Like some kind of translator.
âMore like a human shield.â Your hand landed on top of Aetherâs head, not agreeing with his explanation.
Bonk.
âI guess everythingâs better than being Emergency Food.â
âHey!â
âHaha! You three are quite a team, arenât you?â
Of course you were. Mondstadt, Liyue, you name it. You could assure that every place in this two nations have at least one story about the team.
You knew that the most brave and magnificent outlander in Teyvat didnât need a guardian, he can defend himself (somehow even if heâs still using that dull blade).
Bodyguarding also sounds like such a hassleâŚ
You only provide a last resource help when was needed, sometimes also helping with some puzzles and mysteries.
The long eared people was known to be wise and smart people that searched for the full comprehension of the world. Also such a nerds and fans of knowledge. So, even if you considered yourself dumb, in your blood was the instinct of looking for the truth, and sometimes that impulse could be really annoying.
You were always near enough to reach him. Pulling his scarf from behind to move him away from danger. Countering after he gets hit.
Always in a place where you could reach him.
You just needed to extend your arm and you would catch Aether. It was always like this. Always with you jumping in the middle of the crossfire to shield them if it was necessary.
Itâs always like this.
Until the day you three set a foot in Inazumaâs land. And a bad feeling of a imminent catastrophe made your shiver.
A new nation, a new problem to solve. But a war? Boldness and stupidity sometimes looks like the same thing, but no matter how many times you repeat this to Aether, he would still ran into problems.
And you would follow him, until your debt is paid, until his travel is done.
It used to be like this.
But then you failed him after being unable to move because of the fear that paralyzed your body. The day Aether faced Shogun Raiden in the ceremony. The day you heard the broken voice of a god inside the Shogun you also fell apart. It was painful, cruel, a void of anger and sadness.
Jumping into danger, without you behind.
You tried to ran between the goddess and your savior, you tried to get closer to at least be useful one last time as the shield you promised to be.
You tried.
But, for the first time, your hand didnât reach him.
The void of despair and darkness that could be heard inside the Shogun devoured him.
The tears of panic and fear in Paimonâs eyes. The way the Shogun lifted her sword to end his life. The way you were paralyzed because of her presence, forced to be part of the crowd and presence his execution.
That day your facade of laziness faded away, the real feeling of being a knight burnt along your proud. It was so annoying, it was so unnecessary, but still you couldnât ignore it.
âAre you⌠are you sure that youâre okay? We donât have to find the Sangonomiya resistance today. If you need to rest then-â Your hands were shaking when you placed them in Aetherâs shoulders, holding yourself for tearing up.
âWe have to keep going. Iâll be fine.â
âBesides, if we stay near Inazuma this night they could find us! Paimon wonât be able to sleep like that!â Your mouth opened to counter their arguments, but not a single word dared to go against Aetherâs plans.
They could see it in your face. The worry, the remains of shock and fear, the guilty.
âDonât try to look strong then. If you get tired, tell us. I can carry you in my back.â Even if you were offering help your voice was serious, so cold but so hurt at the same time that nor Aether or Paimon knew what to said to bring the old you back.
âˇâšâˇâšâˇâšâˇâšâˇâšâˇâš âˇâšâˇâš âˇâšâˇâš âˇâš âˇ
â⌠Arenât you coming?â You could hear how the door was slid to let him saw you. The lighted spots on Aetherâs clothes were purple, just as the lighting that almost end him. Your lips made a concerned and stressed grimace.
The young traveler took a seat next to you, outside the structure, sitting on the wooden steps and looking at the starry sky. The wind was cold but still the soldiers of the resistance were talking normally and the slight feeling of discommodity because of the excessive presence of other people was climbing up your back.
â(Y/N), thereâs no need of guard us every night. You also need to sleep.â
âI'm not tired, I think I've gotten enough sleep, at least not to need it until the next century.â
Aetherâs expressions went into a sarcastic one, asking if you were serious with just his gaze.
âThatâs not how it works.â He said, trying to change the mood. âAnd if it does, then why are you always snoozing during the day in every chance you get?â
You had the answer to that, but you werenât sure about telling him.
âBecause everything supposed to be boring. Nothing really changed a lot and⌠looking at the familiar places was depressing.â So easy, so simple, but still enjoying the company, still enjoying the sound of theirs laughs and their own shenanigans. â⌠Lately, Iâve been thinking that I should not had left the cave. Donât get me wrong, I do appreciate that you two helped me to be back at the surface, and I really want to help you on your journey, but if you still run into the chaos by own decision I think I could not follow you any longer before being a burden in your adventures.â
Overprotection, an unbreakable shield, frequently avoiding fights, always being pulled back to not be part of the battle. Enemies of the braveness of the traveler.
Worry, panic, an overreaction due to fear of loosing everything again.
âlet me do itâ, âI got itâ, âwait hereâ, âdonât get closeâ.
These day could be described like that.
âSo, before I do something worse as an excuse of defend you, please let me find a cave to await. You do whatâs is needed and⌠call me back, or leave me there, anything you think itâs better⌠â
You could be pronouncing the words from the very bottom of your heart, but still your face was the same seriousness as the accident almost happened.
And even with that you felt his gloved hand removing the hair that was covering your right ear, revealing how it slightly leaned down, showing sadness unwittingly.
âHey, cut it out⌠Iâm serious about this⌠â
âIt doesnât matter if you think that itâs the best option, youâre still sad about leaving.â
â⌠Thatâs cheating.â Removing his hand away from your hair you tried to act indifferent.
âYou know the reason why we invited you to came along?â
âYou felt sorry for me.â
âI canât totally tell the exact reason, but it wasnât for you to pay us some kind of debt because of saving you.â He crossed his arms, looking at the stars, wondering if his sisters was doing the same. âWe donât need a guardian, we need our friend back. And I know you care about Paimon and me, but still you must enjoy the journey. Itâs not fair that you are always aware of every potential danger while we mess around lately.â
An eternal silence, your response is late to appear but somehow Aether can tell that you already have something on your mind.
âThen apologize.â
â⌠Why?â
âFor believing that playing as the hero and jumping to face the Shogun was something you had to do.â
â⌠but-â
Neither Aether nor you slept that night, the blonde had to listen for hours to all the things that you ever wanted to complain about since you arrived in Inazuma.
You made your position on joining the army of the rebellion very clear, you had no intention of fighting to seek "justice" or "peace". Because after all, that fight did not correspond to you, but if he asked you to, you would protect some soldiers or help to guard the barracks, if he asked you to, you wouldnât complain about it (at least not that much).
Both had enough of each otherâs attitude, but it was okay. Because that was what all of you chose in first place.

The Celestial Archon
Chapter One: A Storm of Stars
Genshin Impact x F!reader
In the first chapter, you may find the mystery archon described in a way that doesnât fit you. Thatâs okay, it will change to each individualâs own tastes with time. The archon is described a certain way for reasons regarding the story line!
WARNINGS: lots of genshin spoilers, mentions of blood/violence, & mentions of injury.
tag list! @pebblegwn @krexpe @rockinaflock @creation-magician @noythe @weightlessrose @kclremin @vievi @simpinforkirari @red-riots-crocs

Our story began when Mona, the esteemed astrologist made a bold declaration. The stars foretold the return of a mysterious eighth archon. With this information, the most influential people of Mondstat and Liyue set a plan into action. The beloved traveler and his sidekick were quickly dragged into the preparations for the Celestial Archon. Aether and Paimon were looking forward to resting after weeks of hard work but unfortunately were interrupted by a star falling from the heavens. And so, we continue onward with our adventure.
â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘
Aetherâs legs were sore, his knees began to buckle as he finally made it to the entrance of dawn winery. He yelped, falling forwards and closed his eyes preparing for the impact. It never came as two sets of hands grasped the boy and steadied him. Diluc, the esteemed owner of Dawn Winery sighed as his brother gently removed the mysterious young woman from Aetherâs back. The red headed man scowled as the travelerâs knees buckled once more, catching the now unconscious boy.
The knights of favonious stood outside the winery, watching the two men carry the weakened traveler and mystery lady. With the stars still falling in the distance it was quite a sight to behold. Mona gasped as Kaeya approached, the woman in his arms still still sleeping. Her hair was long and wild, strange silvery tattoos danced on her skin, and her body was frail. Kaeya tried to be gentle with her, holding her bridal style but he could feel her losing strength and the warm blood from a wound staining his shirt.
Noelle rushed forward to remove Aether from Diluc, âMy apologies Master Diluc, but this young lady needs a free room immediately.â
Diluc nodded, grimacing at the sight of the wounded woman in his brotherâs arms. He pushed the doors to Dawn Winery open, making his way to the nearest guest room. Kaeya followed him and Jean yanked her younger sister along. The room was simple with a bed, night stand, and single chair. Kaeya set the woman down on the bed carefully, and rolled her over to see the back of her top soaked.
âKaeya, go wash up.â Jean ordered, unsheathing her sword.
Diluc steered his brother out of the room while Jean got to work. With speed and precision, Jeanâs sword cut the cloth away from the injury. Her eyes widened and she stepped back as the wound as freed. Barbara peeked around her sister and felt nausea building up. Noelle entered the room to see the two sisters in shock. Jeanâs eyes were filled with a mixture of sadness and disgust.
âDid she have wings?â Barbara whispered, eyes never leaving the back of the woman.
âNo, this isnât a tear. Somebody or something did this to her,â Jean gritted her teeth, âthey carved it into her.â
Noelle glanced over them to see something incredibly awful. There were two deep and wide gashes starting at her shoulder blades and meeting at her tailbone to make an upside down v symbol. Her breathing was shallow as the air hit the open wound. Barbara made her way to the bedside to infuse the wound with hydro energy and try to help the pain.
âNoelle!â Jean barked, âFind the Alchemists and tell Albedo to set up a direct teleport point here. Bring Sucrose here, we will need all the help we can get.â
Noelle nodded and dashed out the door, nearly colliding with the knightâs librarian. Lisa frowned but ignored the rushed girl and stepped into the room.
âLisa,â Jean sighed as the woman walked in.
Lisaâs hand found its way to the dandelion knightâs shoulder, âYes, acting grandmaster?â
âPlease send word to Liyue Harbor that we need the aid of their best herbalist right now. This is urgent. You may also inform the adepti and Zhongli of the archonâs arrival but we need aid now.â Jeanâs tone was serious, it struck a chord of anxiety in Lisa.
Without a word, Lisa strode out of the room and began to do as she was asked. Barbara continued to ease the pain of the sky goddess but grew more worried each second. The wound was infected. Sucrose burst in soon after, tears forming at the sight before her.
After what seemed like an eternity, Liyue Harborâs esteemed top herbalist arrived with a small zombie girl. Together, the best healers from both countries began to work hard. They poured all their energy into their work and successfully removed the infection. By the time the sun began to come up, the wound was rapid healed but scarred terribly.
Though morning approached, the temporary residents of Dawn Winery found themselves crawling into bed to get some rest. Jean didnât want to leave the eight archonâs side but was convinced to by her loving sister. The healers slept all day and all night long, missing the arrival of Liyueâs highest regarded people and adepti. Not a single soul dared to peak at the mysterious goddess as she slept, in fear of interrupting her much needed peace.
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
24 Hours had passed since the arrival of the eighth archon. The herbalists and knights began to wake finally as morning approached. Unfortunately, when they went to check on the strange woman and her injuries, the room was empty. Dread set over Dawn Winery with the goddess of the stars missing once more.
Noon soon came to pass but there was no sign of the Celestial Archon. Everyone had split up to search for her but had no luck. Aether was frustrated and panicked as he fell onto the grass. Suddenly a large gust of wind blew him over, Paimon clutched to his hair as a winged blue beast shot across their line of vision.
âDvalin?â Venti stood abruptly, âCould it be..â
Realization hit Aether, âLetâs go! We need to follow him!â
Aether, Venti, Kaeya, and Lisa trailed behind the dragon. Paimon screamed at them to slow down but they were too focused to care. Finally, out of breath, they stopped. Dvalin had landed on the edge of a cliff, his head leaned down to press his snout against the cheek of a beautiful woman. Her hair was still long and wild but not unkempt. Her eyes shone bright like stars and her skin seemed to glow under the sunlight. Aether was awestruck. Was that really the same person he rescued only a day before?
The wind carried her laughter as the majestic beast snuggled up to her. Her hands came up to stroke his scales as her feet left the ground. She truly was floating. Starstruck, Aether and the knights of favonious could only stare. Venti, however, burst forward with a gleeful giggle. The celestial archon turned as the bard crashed into her. Dvalin rested his head atop of hers as her arms wrapped around the childlike god.
âDonât worry, Barbatos,â She reassured, âI missed you, too.â
âYou scared me, you stupid supernova!â Venti nuzzled his face into her chest.
Aether shivered as a growl tore through the air. The noise startled him enough, he fell right on his ass. Xiao shot forwards, ripping the anemo archon off of the celestial archon.
âYou bastard drunk,â Xiaoâs face was dark, âDonât touch her as you please.â
âEhe,â Venti giggled as the adeptus held him by the collar.
Aether stood and sighed, gazing at the shocked woman. He turned, hearing footsteps behind him. Zhongli had found them and the remaining adepti trailed behind him. The eighth archonâs mouth was agape. She flung herself at Xiao, tackling him. Venti escaped the yaksha as the goddess fell ontop of him.
âOi,â She grinned clutching onto him, âI think I even missed your shitty attitude, pretty boy.â
Xiaoâs face was red as he grumbled, âJust shut up, space case.â
Zhongli clicked his tongue, impatient. He pulled the goddess off of the yaksha and embraced her. His sudden affection made her cheeks flush but she returned the hug. Zhongliâs arms tightened around her, fearful that he would wake up from a dream. After a few moments he released her only for the poor bright eyed goddess to be swarmed by the adepti.
She giggled as they each took turns showing her how much she was missed. Even as Cloud Retainer scolded her, the smile never left her face.
âWhat exactly happened to you anyways?â The female crane adepti grilled the goddess.
A nervous laugh escaped the young woman, âWell, I kept thinking about how my heart was restless. So I guess I kept walking. Eventually this strange darkness consumed me and I couldnât go anywhere. It was as if all the evil gods I struck down were exacting their revenge. Some time ago, the void I was stuck in opened up a bit and I escaped but was forced into something even worse. There were terrible monsters and powerful beings who sought my abilities I guess. They mistook me as a new goddess and attacked me.â
Aetherâs ears perked up. She was talking about the Abyss, he was sure of it. His heart hurt at the way she tried to mask the pain of the endeavor. She reminded him of Lumine a bit.
âSo anyways,â She continued, âI ran again and got caught in this space. It wasnât bad, but nothing happened. I mean nothing, I was actually stuck for real that time and the space seemed to shift around me even though I couldnât move. Time didnât pass and my thoughts came to a stop, too. Then I was forced out and I think I was falling? That blonde kid picked me up but I was weakened. Sorry I donât remember much but that.â
âForced out, hm..â Cloud Retainer seemed stuck in her thoughts.
âThatâs not quite right,â The goddess sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose, âItâs more like it shattered? I think I fell with the pieces of it.â
âHow strange,â Kaeya started, âIt almost sounds like a domain.â
Zhongli nodded, âIt does. Letâs not discuss this any further for now, it seems to be a painful topic.â
The celestial archon smiled gently at the geo archon, embracing him again. Zhongli stiffened but wrapped his arms around her again. Aether felt Xiao shift next to him, he glanced at the adeptus and had to restrain his laughter. He didnât think the rough adeptus could ever pour, but there he was pouting.
After exchanging greetings and parting with Dvalin, the group headed back to Dawn Winery. Paimon had already taken a liking to the goddess of stars. Aether couldnât blame the chubby fairy, the archon seemed oddly mortal to him. The other Archons carried themselves with grace and authority. The Celestial Archon was strangely human. Her appearance was godly and she did have a sort of divine aura to her but she was far more down to earth then even Venti.
âSo why did you leave so suddenly?â Aetherâs curious eyes met hers as they hiked back to the winery.
âI, uh, well the sun was calling to me.â A bashful smile formed on her lips.
Aether raised his eyebrows, âCalling to you?â
âYeah,â her eyes were a bit distant, âItâs as if it was reminding me that the sun is a star, too. It willed me to bask in it I suppose.â
Paimon giggled at the archonâs clumsy wording. Aether pondered over what she said, thinking it was unique. Dawn Winery came into view and the traveler noticed that everybody else had returned. Chaos ensued at their arrival.
âAhem,â Venti cleared his throat, âThis is the eighth archon. The Celestial Archon, Seraphim. I call her supernova though cause sheâs beautiful and destructive.â
âHello! Letâs skip formalities, feel free to call me by my chosen name!â She introduced herself cheerfully.
Everybody chose to ignore Ventiâs comment on the goddess being destructive. She was far too kind and gracious to be anything of that sort. Aether was the only one among them who noticed Ventiâs words. They filled him with curiosity.
âIâm so hungry,â Paimon groaned.
âOh, I missed food!â The bubbly goddess yelled, âLetâs eat! Can we eat?â
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
The dining room was filled with chatter as they celebrated the arrival of the long lost archon. Paimon was stuffing her face as Venti chugged another bottle of dandelion wine, hiccuping. Diluc sighed as Kaeya poured another glass for himself with rosy cheeks. The scarlet haired man found himself looking for the celestial archon again. No matter how heard he tried to distract himself, his thoughts and eyes always found their way to her.
She was levitating above her seat, giggling as people brought her food to try. Xiao was uncharacteristically calm and looked happy even, as he fed her bits of almond tofu. Zhongli was smiling at her as she took sips of tea. The goddess picked up the small zombie girl and sat her in her lap, letting the child introduce âcoco goatâ milk to her. Things were going well overall.
Diluc watched as the kind hearted goddess set the child down and excused herself. She glided towards the terrace with a lingering sadness in her eyes. The esteemed Ragnvindr swiped the unopened bottle of dandelion his brother was reaching for and uncorked it. For a moment, the man was hesitant but his legs carried him to the open terrace anyways.
âHello, Mister Diluc,â The goddess greeted him without turning to look at him.
âPardon me,â He stopped at her side, âI donât mean to intrude. This is a gift for you, Dawn Wineryâs special.â
She glanced at him through her peripheral vision and held out her hand. He sighed and placed the bottle in her slender hand, watching her take a sip. She returned to staring at the stars above, sipping on the wine. The tycoon couldnât help but stay by her side, seeing the look of longing she had. He felt that if he left her, she might just disappear again.
âItâs good,â She murmured, closing her eyes.
âThank you,â Diluc tried to hold back the smile growing on his face, âI appreciate that youâre savoring it and not gulping it down like certain alcoholics.â
A snort escaped from the girl, âBarbatos the esteemed anemo archon and local alcoholic.â
Diluc snickered at her comment. She was so surreal. Everything about her felt dreamy, it was truly enchanting.
âI can leave you alone with your thoughts, I am deeply sorry if I disturbed you.â The man sighed and turned, but was stopped by her fingertips grazing his wrist.
âDiluc Ragnvindr, you are not a bother,â She sighed, âI am just a fool who would rather look for answers in constellations than face the reality before me. For me, not much time has passed since the Archon War. So youâll have to forgive me if I seem cold, I simply am frustrated and depressed by the changes in Teyvat. I missed thousands of years and it will haunt me for a long while.â
Dilucâs jaw nearly hit the floor at the bluntness of the woman in front of him. He was empathetic to her situation, after distancing himself from everyone around him he had moments of sadness as well. He was also fascinated by her adoration for the stars.
âDo the stars give you answers?â He asked quietly.
She laughed, âNot always, but iâm able to read the constellations of an individual, even you Darknight Hero.â
âOh, fucks sake thatâs mortifying!â He groaned and then leaned in, âWait. I have a constellation? How much do you know?â
âYour constellation is Noctua, and itâs fairly easy to read. I know that you pretend like everybody is bothering you at all times, because you donât want to be disappointed again as your brother disappointed you after the loss of your father. You feel the need to be strong and never seen as weak, somewhere between inferiority complex and social anxiety.â Her words made his heart pound.
âBut,â She continued smiling, âI understand. I also have daddy issues of sorts. And it often feels easier to put up those walls.â
Diluc was speechless. Their conversation was interrupted by clapping, as Kaeya made his way out of the shadows. Any vulnerability left Diluc at his brotherâs entrance. He quickly exited the balcony seeing Kaeyaâs smug expression.
âYou are interesting,â his voice was almost sultry, âTell me, what do you see from my constellation.â
The goddess gave him a sour look. She was quiet for a minute, eyes narrowed at the man. He waited, expectantly.
âPavo Ocellus,â She sighed, âA complicated constellation. You do carry a heavy burden savior of Khaenri'ah. So much of you is shrouded in mystery, although thatâs fitting isnât it? I donât know enough to see you as a threat, however your dishonest habits and constant tests you put people through seems irritating.â
âOh, youâre bold,â He grinned, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, âBold, beautiful, and busty. Just my type.â
âAnd you say things like that so casually,â She pushed his hand away, making her way back to the dining hall.
âSir Kaeya, you should be careful saying such things. If you arenât, somebody might fall for you. Itâs like a honey trap. Give the wrong person the wrong idea and youâll find yourself in a pinch.â
With that, she left the calvary captain alone with his thoughts. He was pulled in by her, but knew she was dangerous. His mind shifted back to Ventiâs word earlier and he clicked his tongue. The bard may have been onto something.
When Kaeya returned to the banquet, the Celestial Archon was back to eating and being doted on. Xiaoâs glare was locked in and targeted as Kaeya sat a short distance from the goddess. Kaeya merely winked at him, sticking his tongue out slightly. The yakshaâs hand flew to the spear by his side as he snarled at the cryo wielder. The goddess noticed the sudden change in the atmosphere and moved to the adeptiâs lap. He blushed and scowled, but set his head on her shoulder.
The young womanâs affection towards Xiao didnât go unnoticed and soon Zhongli was offering her tea while Venti offered her booze. Even Jean was attempting to seek some attention from the goddess. For once, Diluc and Kaeya had the same thought. That woman is troublesome.

summary: the production of genshin impact is amazing! now letâs see what the actors are really like separate from their characters
style & genre: bulleted; modern!au, general fic
warnings: mentions of drinking
notes: another idea thatâs popped into my head! this is pretty random but iâll be updating more parts if you guys like itâşď¸Â

Aether and Lumine arenât actually related in real life, they just look so much alike that they thought they were long lost siblings. Even off set they act like brother and sister because it feels natural after spending so much time together
Their phone contacts for each other are âmy twinâ and their greetings are always âi found you!â
Paimon uses a green suit to hide the lower half of her body but when she was getting used to âflyingâ around, she would forget that she didnât actually fly and would step on other cast membersâ toes: most of which were Aetherâs
Bennett is the luckiest guy on set and actually pulled two five stars in a ten pull and hit 30 pulls to get another five star, however, he is really clumsy and trips over air every three seconds even if he watches where he walks
Diluc and Kaeya donât hate each other but have a mutual rivalry over certain beverages. At one point they stopped talking to each other for a whole day because Diluc said the alcohol Kaeya brought him tasted cheap
Speaking of Diluc: he, Aether, and Albedo use the same brand of hair oil, only to realize when they sat next to each other and commented how familiar their âcologneâ was
The drinking buddies (Kaeya, Beidou, Rosaria, Venti, Lisa, and Scaramouche) hang out on their days off sometimes
Klee really likes to be around Kaeya or Albedo because she thinks theyâre good-looking. She gets excited when sheâs in the same scene with either one of them so her personality is really genuine on screen
Albedo keeps chapstick in his pocket and uses it periodically between scenes. He zones out quite a lot because he gets bored easily. Yells at people to hydrate but in like a calming voice
Qiqi is already a pretty quiet kid but she likes to act and her role was perfect for her. You might see her sitting in the directorâs chair when the cameras are rolling because they want her to see what sheâs a part of. aw
Mona likes her hat and keeps it on most times but it always wacks people in the face when she turns. She doesnât mind when it hits Scaramouche because he has his own hat. They have impromptu hat battles sometimes to which the costume designers get nervous about
Fischl canât speak German for the life of her and she really likes Jojoâs and laughs in references with Razor. You might think sheâs still in character off camera but no, thatâs just her
Zhongli is possibly the richest person on the set but everyone else pays for all of his expenses just because. He does pay for everyoneâs coffee especially when they have an early morning shoot
Scaramouche, Keqing, and Xiao have a group chat where they poke fun at other cast members showing up late and then proceeding to roast them behind their backs
They also like to change their lines in the middle of a shoot like Keqing ranting about the archons but instead she replaces them with other cast memberâs names; Scaramouche replacing âwhen did i give you permission to issue your own ordersâ with âiâm hot arenât i;â and Xiao repeatedly saying âcan i eat something other than almond tofu pleaseâ or âi feel bad for this guy, he needs a hugâ while looking straight into the camera
Xiao is actually a shy guy who is very kind to everyone around him so the cast was surprised when he started saying character lines because they never heard that tone in his voice before. He was mildly flustered afterwards from the compliments
Out of all the cast members, Aether forgets his lines the most even though he doesnât say that much. When he forgets he autopilots to âwindblade!â
The younger cast have a group chat to keep each other accountable for their early shooting times. But they all forget and end up late to the reading table
Signora actually did punch Venti in the stomach too hard on accident and they had to take a break as she apologized profusely to which Venti kept reassuring her that it was fine; got his gnosis back after the scene was over as symbolism for âiâm sorry i punched you in the gut really hardâ
Barbara sings like an angel and the theme song for the series is written and sung by her
Childe stared at his prop bow for a good five minutes when he first got it and told the director that he didnât prepare in using a bow but for âdual-wielding.â (plot twist: they never actually told him he was using a bow as a weapon but they knew he was a fast learner). All of the shots of him using it are genuine confusion as to how the thing works
One time with his last shot, he threw the bow on accident and hit Bennett
During the cast interviews, Venti likes to do them all with Zhongli or Xiao because they actually let him talk as much as he wants without overpowering his already loud voice
When he does it with Paimon, they tend to blow out the surrounding peopleâs eardrums so they were never paired again haha
Other interview pairings are Ningguang and Beidou and people like watching them together because of how soothing they sound and just the overall way they talk to each other
The opposite with Kaeya, Childe, and Lisa interviews. They keep flirting with the interviewers and viewers
âHey girlies, watch the next episodeâ wInK
âSeize the day. Watch us again tomorrow night 8:30pm PSTâ wOnK
âWhat a cutie, would you like to see us again?â im blushing
Honestly, anyone could listen to Zhongli talk all day so he has longer interviews because even the people asking the questions want to keep him for longer
The whole cast is like one big family and whether theyâre protagonists or not, they all have a close bond behind the scenes

Night Swim
Garth of Shayeris/Tempest x batsis!reader
Summary: pinning over him. I know like 7 people will read it but heâs too cute. Canon has no home here and timelines donât matter.
Warning: dash of innuendos.
The apprentice of a justice league member that went on his own. That could describe almost all of your brothers but it also described the beautiful man standing before you. That currently didnât even notice you were staring at him puppy dog eyed.
âSo, are you ever going to do anything about it or just stare at him until he jumps back in the sea again,â Kori said beside you. You jumped and gave her a look. âNoise cancelling glass. He canât hear us and no one is looking over here,â she reassured you.
âThat obvious,â you asked turning to face her. She nodded with a little smile. Of course she thought it was cute. She had told Dick the first time she knew she was attracted to him. Thatâs how she was raised. No fear of rejection or shame in sexual attraction. You were raised by batman and had a healthy dose of both.
âThereâs not like it would do any good. Heâs never given me a second thought and I donât even think he likes surface walkers anyways,â you deflected. She snorted.
âHe dated Donna.â
âThat shouldnât count. Sheâs Themyscirian. Theyâre like perfect,â you rolled your eyes.
âI donât know. I find Dick very appealing and he is human. Is his powers what attracts you to him?â She asked leaning on a desk. Her long curly red hair flowed over her shoulder in a way that only Kori could.
âNo, of course not. I mean, theyâre cool for sure. But itâs.. heâs nice and honorable and funny,â you said and she grinned almost proudly.
âAnd you can be nice and honorable and funny without any meta powers. Donât put yourself down. And if you need help..â she started.
âNo no no. No wing woman,â you said quickly.
âWhat do you need a wing woman for?â Dick asked behind you. Your eyes widened before you turned around.
âNothing. Just some guy from college. That I donât like,â you said in possibly the worst lie of your life. Dick narrowed his eyes at you.
âI can tell youâre lying but if I donât know the truth, I canât lie to Bruce about what youâre doing so donât tell me,â Dick said. Wally, Donna, and Garth walked in the room.
âWait, did I hear that Nightwingâs little sister is seeing someone? Is he ready to die,â Wally laughed clapping Dick on the shoulder.
âIâm not having this conversation,â you squeaked out before squeezing between the heroes, feeling yourself far too close to Garth for just a moment. Thank goodness Mâgann wasnât there to read your thoughts or feelings. Kori stayed mum on the subject and concentrated on the mission that Dick was prepping the team for.
You didnât go on missions now. An injury that put an end to that. You just couldnât maintain the level a vigilante needed. Sometimes youâd help with the computers but mainly you worked at Wayne Enterprise with Tim. You were just visiting on this trip and wasnât involved in the mission.
âWish us luck,â Kori said giving you a hug. You couldnât help but watch Garth in his new blue suit that fit perfectly as the rest of the team walked by.
âWoah,â you said barely above silent but Kori hugging you caught it all and giggled quietly. You flushed and tried to stutter out some excuse.
âHe is very handsome. Wish him luck,â she whispered in your ear. You made a little noise to disagree and she simply grinned at you while walking away.
âWhat was that,â Dick asked, suspicious.
âNothing, just a joke. Good luck. Be safe,â you said to him and Dick didnât argue but definitely didnât believe you before joining his team.
As they left, your mind wandered to the first time you met Garth. It was a mission in a warehouse fire that had homeless people camping out on the second story. You walked carefully to the back office through dense fog with flames threatening any moment to see if there was anyone in there. The fire was getting really close and it was kinda dicey. But it was your first job away from Gotham and you were 14 and you felt the need to prove yourself.
You entered the room bent low with smoke overhead. You saw something move in the back of the room and you made your way towards it. But just as you crossed to the back half of the room, part of the ceiling collapsed, trapping you in the room and knocking you to the floor. You jumped back against the wall. There wasnât a window and the movement? A toy.
You shrank against the wall and pushed your panic button. The fire was hot and you cursed wearing shorts. âShit,â you breathed as it started moving closer. The air was starting to get thick. The flames jumped and you pressed against the wall with your eyes covered, expecting flames to hit you.
But instead you felt cool wet air and you opened your eyes to see water surrounding you. It appeared to float in air and you reached a hand out to touch it, confused. As soon as you felt the tips of your fingers dampened, the water crashed to the floor causing you to jump.
In there place was a teenage boy only a few years older than you, grinning. You stared at him in silence. He had just saved your life.
âDid you- how did you-â you stuttered and his smile grew even wider.
âAqualad, at your service. You wanna leave before it crashes on us?â He said and you took a step to wince in pain. Oh yeah, when you jumped you twisted your ankle. Your plan, like all the other bats, was to suck it up and hobble out. But Garth had other plans and he quickly scooped you up bridal style as soon as he noticed you couldnât walk.
âJust hold on. Iâll carry you,â he said walked down the charred stairs carefully. You couldnât take your eyes off his handsome face the whole time. Your heart pounded and your lack of experience with dating or liking anyone had you completely dumbfounded. âYou can let go,â he said with a little smile.
You were out of the warehouse clinging to him past the time necessary and quickly moved away from him, feeling your skin flush. Dick gave you a look over before give Garth with a look you couldnât recognize.
ââââââââââââââ
âSheâs catatonic, Bro.â
âFeed her something.â
âWally, food isnât always the answer,â Dick said giving your shoulder a shake. You jumped and knocked over a glass of water.
âSorry!â You yelped reaching over to grab a towel.
âIâve got it,â Garth said and with a flick of his wrist the water started to pour in the sink rather than off the counter. As you watched the water jumped before flowing down the drain. You laughed a little and looked up to see Garth grinning at you. Dick stared suspiciously at you both before being pulled somewhere by another Titan.
âSo was the mission okay?â You asked, not knowing what to say. Your crush was more âstare across the roomâ rather than do anything about it.
âIt went well,â he answered grabbing a water bottle and chugging it. You tried not to stare.
âCool suit,â you said and immediately felt stupid. He wiped his mouth with the back of his hand.
âThanks,â he said without adding anything else, leaving an awkward air to hang.
âDamn, you might be from the sea but are soo dry, Garth,â Roy said clapping him on the back on his way to his room. Garth looked at you confused.
âItâs been awhile since Iâve been land side. Is being dry an insult now?â He asked.
âI mean, kinda. It just means boring,â you answered with a shrug. âYou know Roy.â
âBut you are dry. I mean, you live on land. Not that youâre boring,â he said with an awkward laugh. You smiled back at him before taking a sip of your drink nervously. âDoes that mean you want to be wet?â
You coughed as you choked on the liquid. He tapped you on the back. âYou okay?â He asked concerned. Donna walked by with a raised eyebrow but said nothing.
âIâm fine. No, thatâs not how that works. Itâs just we arenât really dry. Weâre like 80 percent water. Dry means like sand or something. Too dry,â you said and he nodded humoring you.
âIt seems pretty dry here,â he said playfully.
âI can knock over more glasses. Get this place all wet again,â you quipped.
âTempting. Or you can go swimming with me,â he answered back.
âHaha or I could- what? Itâs nighttime,â you answered. âAnd doesnât that do something to the currents or something?â
He gave you a dry look. âThe currents come in at night? Yep. Youâd be the safest person in the water swimming with me. I could navigate night swimming as a squirt. Come with?â Garth asked.
âI-â you stared before mumbling.
âYou what? I didnât hear the last part,â he said.
âI... canât swim,â you said and he stared at you and you felt like sliding under the counter and through the floor. Then Garthâs lips curled into a smile and he laughed a little. You looked down awkwardly.
âOh youâre serious?â
âYeah...â
âIâm sorry. I forget that swimming is learned skill here. I apologize,â he started.
âItâs okay. Really,â you insisted.
âCome with me. Weâll stay shallow,â he offered. You looked at him before nodding.
âThis is a bad idea but letâs go,â you said pulling him along. Garth laughed as you pulled him out the back door towards the beach. âI forgot a bathing suit,â you admitted.
âI guess you could go insi-â he trailed off as you pulled your shirt off and shorts to swim in your underwear and bra. He quickly looked away as you ran in the water to your waist.
âComing in? Canât believe I have to ask, mermanâ you said and he pulled off his shirt to quickly join you. You splashed him with water which quickly turned into a splashing war.
âOkay, you win!â You yelped as he bombarded you with water. He splashed you one last time and you turned away. Garth grabbed you by the waist as a wave splashed over you. You simply watched each other for a moment. You noticed your feet didnât touch the ground anymore. You clung to him.
âI canât touch,â you said a little panicky. He held on to you.
âDonât worry. Iâm right here. I wonât let you drown. Itâs my job, remember?â Garth smiled. âLook around. Look at the moon.â
You looked up to see the luminous globe hanging above the sea. It lit a silvery path through the water, highlighting waves crashing. The beach seemed far away. The only sounds were the sea and a few night birds as well as Garthâs breath from being so close. You looked back at him and almost froze. He was gorgeous. The water truly was his element. His dark hair curled in the water and the moon glow highlighted his nose and collarbones. His purple eyes looked almost black in the darkness but the way he looked at you said a ton.
He looked down at your lips and you couldnât help but lick them, tasting salt water. Garth bent a little and you turned your head up to touch lips softly. His arms wrapped closer around you as you kissed. Garth easily kept you above the water. Your brain was broken. You were kissing Garth, who youâve had a crush on for a long time.
Suddenly water splashed over your head as a wave crashed on you both. You leaned away with a cough as water invaded your mouth and nose. Your eyes stung and watered a little.
âSorry, I forgot to pay attention,â Garth admitted sheepishly.
âItâs okay,â you said with only a little cough. âCan we?â
âGet you on land? Yeah. Youâre getting cold anyways,â Garth said before swimming towards the shore. It wasnât a rough choppy swim the way people did. He seemed to simply glide through the water gracefully. So beautifully. Which was broken when he fell over on the beach.
âYouâre the most graceful swimmer and trip on your feet when you hit ground,â you said with a laugh as you attempted to help him up. He was far too heavy to lift but appreciated the effort.
âAtlantean,â he shrugged. âDonât make fun of me too much. You canât even swim.â
âYeah? You wanna take a dip in Gotham Harbor?â You asked and he laughed.
âAbsolutely not. I donât want to get some unknown cancer from whatever pollution they have. Or whatever rouge is living there,â he added.
âThatâs why I canât swim,â you answered. It really was cool in the wind and you quickly pulled on your clothing.
âBut doesnât batman have like multiple pools?â
âYeah but I never used them. I was 15 when he took me in. Too old to learn,â you shrugged.
âYouâre never to old to learn to swim. Itâs important for safety,â Garth said. âEspecially here,â he motioned at the beach.
âEspecially if I keep kissing Tempest in the water?â You quipped.
âThatâs just a bonus,â he said pulling you close by the hips. You grinned up at him and wrapped your arms around his shoulders.
And a spotlight shined glaringly at you both. You covered your eyes and looked away.
âCome inside,â boomed the voice of your brother. âNow.â
And thatâs how you got a 20 minute lectures on the danger of night swimming and risk of hypothermia and Garth got the shovel talk. But despite the fact that Dick was really angry, you didnât regret a thing and went to bed with wet hair and smile on your face.

Title: who we are in the aftermath
Fandom: The Owl House
Synopsis:Â Belos falls and the Golden Guard survives. Itâs a new world and a new day, and sooner or later Hunter has to figure out where he fits in it.Â
Or: in which Hunter stays at the Owl House, becomes a (very, very reluctant) apprentice, continues to have accidental sibling shenanigans with the annoying human, and finally finds a place where he belongs. Probably. Â
AO3 link is here.
[Next chapter is here!]
.
chapter one: battling birds
.Â
They give him a room near the east side of the house, stuffed full of broken things and a miscellaneous number of random items. Itâs not the humanâs old room, and not Lilithâs, eitherâthereâs too much dust and too much stuff for either option. Hunter canât tell if heâs grateful for this or not. Heâs still deciding on whether heâs grateful for the room at all.
Thereâs no time to set up a bed. He spends his first night here on a blanket, restless and half-awake and lying so still heâs half-convinced heâs shaking from the strain of not moving at all, not making a single sound. He can practically taste the dust on every inhaleâdoes the Owl Lady ever clean, Titan help himâand by some godawful midnight hour Hunter gives up on sleep entirely and sits up, carefully, to whisper to his palisman.Â
Nothing important. None of the real questions that are swirling around in his head, like what am I even doing here and why am I still here and what am I supposed to do now, do you know? Instead he just says nonsense things, useless things, like âIf I shine a flashlight in that little demonâs face do you think I could get him to chase the dot?â
The palisman coos and chirps and sings nonsense back. Red is a pretty color. I like tulips. If we iced over the Boiling Sea could we make human rain?Â
âNone of those answers make sense,â Hunter tells it, and then writes a small note about the sea and rain connection on the dusty floor, if only because thatâs actually kind of interesting and he wants to check it out again later.Â
Red tulips are tasty, replies the palisman, and nuzzles his fingers when he goes to pet it. Its feathers are soft and its eyes are luminous in the moonlight. Nonsense, all of it, but the nonsense helpsâfamiliar as a friend, safe and easy. Better than thinking of Belos. Better than wondering what heâs doing here, sleeping on the floor in the Owl Ladyâs house.
The human has left. He could walk out right now and sheâd never know, not that her disappointment has any bearing on if he chooses to stay or go. Sheâs vanished back to the human world, probably gone forever. This house means nothing to Hunterâthe Owl Lady is annoying and dislikes him about as much as Hunter dislikes her, and as endearing as the weird little demon is, that isnât enough to make Hunter want to stay.Â
He could leave easily. He could go anywhere. He has nowhere to go.
âI donât know what to do,â Hunter tells the palisman, at last, hours later. It is almost morning. The sunrise has only just begun, the peace of this dusty attic room wavering thin and fragile in the light of early dawn. It is a quiet admission. He says it very soft. âI donât know if I know anything.â
I love you, says the palisman.
âThatâs not an answer either.âÂ
Oh, well.
Twenty minutes later, the Owl Ladyâs weird bird-worm security creature bursts through the window and sings good morning loud enough to shatter eardrums. Hunter grabs his staff, throws a blast at the thing on instinct, teleports to the kitchen in a panic, and smacks the Owl Lady in the face with his palisman first thing in the morning.
.
The easy explanation is this: the castle falls and Belos dies and the Golden Guard somehow survives it all: portal collapse and half-realm merge and everything, which means when the dust settles, ultimately Hunter is left with absolutely no idea of what to do with himself.Â
âYou should work with Eda!â says the human, in the aftermath. Given she says this in the ruin of what was once the Emperorâs castle, barely a half hour afterâeverythingâHunter feels pretty justified in his response. Which is to say he strangles his broken mechanical staff in his hands, takes a deep breath, and says in a very tight voice: âNo.â
âButâ!â
âNo. No, no, no. I canât even believe I did this, I donât⌠itâs not happening. No.â
The humanâhe does actually know her name by now, after all theyâve been through, but also given all of This Nonsense she has lost name privilegesâdoes not take that well. Of course she doesnât. Sheâs so fourteen it makes Hunter want to die inside. Â
âWhy not?â the human says, petulant. She has her hands on her hips and everything.Â
Hunter is kneeling in the rubble of a castle heâs called home for almost all his life. Somewhere down there is the throne where Belos used to sit; somewhere down there is a body. Itâs not a surprise, really. Itâs not a shock. From the moment the palisman fluttered into his life and Hunter let it stay, he always knew, deep down, that one day he was going to have to choose.Â
It does not make breathing any easier. âI donât want to,â he says.Â
âYou can learn wild magic! And, and glyphs! Eda knows a lotââ
âDoes the Owl Lady know youâre offering up her house to an old enemy?âÂ
âEda wonât mind. Well, okay, maybe sheâll mind a little, butâ sheâll let you stay if I ask her!â Yeah. The Owl Lady probably would. The human has that witch wrapped around her little finger; Hunter almost snorts. âPlease, just hear me out. Iâm sure we canââ
âNo.â
âHunterâŚâ
âDonât talk like weâre friends,â Hunter hisses. He drops the broken remains of the mechanical staff and stands, his hands curled to fists. âDonât talk like you know me. You donât know anything. You donâtââ He canât breathe. He drops back to his knees in the rubble and rubs a hand over his eyes. âJust stop. Please.â
The human doesnât say anything for a long time. On his shoulder, the palisman, thus far staying silent, flutters its wings and hops down to his knee, nudging his hand with its beak. It sings nothing. Just stays there.
After a moment, the human kneels next to him. There is blood on her face and dirt staining her leggings. âI know,â she says, and she suddenly sounds very tired. âIâm sorry.âÂ
Hunter doesnât say anything.
âI justââ the human starts, and then she stops. âI donât know how else to help you.â
She looks small and weirdly sad, which makes no sense at all, because she hated Belos and never really understood why Hunter did not. (Hunter is not sure why either. If that is still something he can say. If you can betray your uncle and fight against your uncle andâandâ and do these things, do everything Hunter has done, and still say that this feeling isnât hatred.)
They arenât friends, Hunter and the human. They have barely been allies. He doesnât need her help, and she probably knows that as well as he does. But Hunter looks at her then, and despite the rubble and the ash and the blood on his tongue, for some reason instead of digging himself a makeshift grave he saysâ
ââŚOkay.â
Which still doesnât really explain anything, but then, thatâs just how it goes.
.
âOkay!â says the Owl Lady, smacking down her second cup of apple blood on the table. She does it too hardâa good splash of blood escapes the confines of the cup and adds yet another stain to her already-stained dining table. Hunter raises an eyebrow. The Owl Lady glares back. âHouse rules.â
Thereâs a red mark on her cheek, still, from where Hunter had hit her with his staff, and a stain all down her side from when, upon being hit with the staff, the Owl Lady spluttered and cursed and accidentally spilt the first cup of apple blood all over herself and the floor. She looks⌠barely awake.Â
âHouse rules,â Hunter echoes, dryly.
âYour scorn is noted and not appreciated.â
âOh, Iâm so sorry.â His palisman pecks his hand lightly. âOw.â
âLuz, you owe me one,â mutters the Owl Lady, and takes a really deep drink of her apple blood. Hunter rubs at his hand, peeved, and eyes the palisman in case it gets any more hand-pecking ideas. The palisman blinks innocently back. Hmm.
âSo. First of all.â The Owl Lady raises a finger. âBreak any of my stuff and I end you.â
So just like the castle, then. Hunter sees where this is going. He settles gingerly back against the chairâwhy, why is all of her furniture stainedâand rests his cheek against one fist, already bored. âNoted.â
The Owl Lady puts up a second finger. Thereâs a long silence.
ââŚSeriously?â says Hunter.
âQuiet, you.â She snaps her fingers. âHah! Got one! Hurt King or Luz or Hooty or anyone I like in any way and Iâll destroy you. Yeah, that works.â
Hunter gets the sneaking suspicion these house rules are being made up on the spot, and are also only for him. He knows better than to say that aloud. âFine.â Wait. âHow am I supposed to know which random people you like or dislike?â
The Owl Lady grins. Her gold fang glints. âThat sounds like a you problem, donât you think?â She cackles a little. âGuess youâll just have to find out! Or, you know. Maybe donât attack anyone? Thatâs a start.âÂ
Her owl palisman coos a little. Her nose wrinkles. âWhat? What do you mean thatâs hypocritical? Stay out of this, Owlbert, Iâm teaching life lessons or something.â Her eyes turn to him. âAnyway. You get the gist.â
Hunterâs hand is curled white-knuckled around his knee. His palisman flutters from the table to his shoulder, singing nonsense again. Red tulips, so tasty. Its feathers brush against his cheek.Â
He pries his grip off his knee one finger at a time. ââŚUnderstood.â
âGood.â The Owl Lady stands and stretches, yawning wide into one hand. âAnyway, Iâll give you a pass for this morning, because Hooty can beâŚâ She trails off. Outside, muffled by the front door, the bird-worm creature shouts âHOOTâ at full volume and then smacks into a tree.
ââŚa lot,â decides the Owl Lady. âBut seriously, keep the windows locked. I donât want you trying to blast him and burning my house down. I just got it back.â
Hunter says nothing. The Owl Lady squints at him and then picks her mug back up. âRiiiight⌠well, good talk, I guess. Get some more sleep, kid, you look worse than Luz after an all-nighter.â She waits. Hunter raises an eyebrow at her. âUgh. I donât know why I agreed to this.â
At least Hunter isnât the only one second-guessing everything. Still, that reminds him. âThe human.â
âLuz,â says the Owl Lady, unimpressed.Â
âYeah, whatever.â He links his fingers. The palisman flies down from his shoulder to his cupped hands, and hops a determined circle in his palm for no apparent reason. Hunter watches it play. ââŚIs she coming back?â
âWhat, tired of our company already?âÂ
âYes,â Hunter says, because obviously.
âRude. Well, canât say the feeling isnât mutual.â Thereâs a long silence. The Owl Lady sighs. âLuz⌠she promised sheâd come back. You were there, werenât you?â
Yeah, he had been. Standing in the back of the group, on the fringes of the goodbye. Two hours after the end, and the human had already roped the Owl Lady into letting Hunter live in her stupid owl house, and also somehow run around hugging pretty much everyone. And then sheâd stepped through the mirrors that were all that remained of the realm-merge between her world and theirs, and not come back since.Â
She had, indeed, promised to return. But that was hours ago; that was yesterday. The mirrors are gone and no doors remain. And Hunter does not put much faith in promises.Â
âAnd when,â he asks the Owl Lady, a little lofty, a little snide. âWhen, exactly, do you think sheâs coming back?â
The Owl Ladyâs eyes narrow. Her lips press thin. For a moment he thinks she might snap at him, but then her shoulders slump, and in the end she just looks away.
âI donât know,â the Owl Lady admits.Â
Useless, Hunter thinks. But he doesnât say it. Just nods and turns away to head back upstairs and make that stupid dusty storage room somewhat presentable, because if heâs going to be staying here forâforâfor whatever amount of time he ends up staying here, heâs going to breathe actual air instead of dust, thanks.
âRemember, kid! House rules!â
âYeah, yeah,â Hunter says, and teleports back up the stairs without a single glance back.
.
Hunter manages to shove all the junk into one corner and make the start of a fairly presentable bed in the other corner by the time the human re-arrives in the Boiling Isles and throws open his door hard enough to smack it against the wall.
âYou took my advice!â shouts the human, at the top of her lungs.
âHiiiiii,â says Hunter, hands over his ears. The human takes a deep breath. Hunter closes the door in her face. âByeeee.â
âHey!â
âWhy are you yelling.â
âI canât believe youâre here!â
Itâs just nonsensical enough to get him to open the door. Why does this always happen to him? Why is the human like this? âYou said I should come here! You saidââ
âPsh,â says the human and flaps a hand in his face. Hunter stops mid-word, gritting his teeth, practically feeling his whole face turn bright red with rage. âI didnât mean it in a bad way! I justâ I didnât think you would actually listen! But youâre here!â Sheâs beaming. Hunter looks away. Her smile fades. ââŚAre you okay?â
He canât sleep. His eyes are hot and burning like he wants to cry and he has no idea why. His uncle is dead.Â
âNo,â he tells her. âNo one in this house dusts. Iâve forgotten what air tastes like.â
âPsh-haw! Iâm sure it's not thatâŚâ The human steps inside, inhales, and chokes. âOh. Ay Dios mĂo. Wow, this room has not been dusted.â
âI noticed!â
âOh, man.â She hides her nose in her elbow and sidles outside again. Sheâs wearing her weird human clothes and her palisman staff strapped to her back. She looks tired, and a little like she has no idea what sheâs doing here either. She lingers in the door almost awkwardly, rolling back and forth from her heels to her toes.Â
Hunter watches her for a long moment. âYou came back.â
âHaha. What gave it away?â But the smile she gives is small and blinding, brighter than the sun. âWatch this.â
âWatch whaââ The human lifts her hand and trails it through the air, dragging her fingers down in a straight line. Golden light follows her fingers. It breaks the air like a fractured mirror, a rift sparking to life in the hallway, the dark greens and blues of a galaxy intertwined with a burning glow. Hunterâs voice dies in his throat.Â
âIf I push at it, it opens. Like a door. It leads me right home.â Sheâs smiling so wide it must hurt. The portal almost seems to whisper; the golden glow of the rift shines in her eyes and catches on her face, still tear-streaked. The humanâs cried over this. Sheâs right to. The human world and the Boiling Islesâshe has found a way to keep both.
Presumably he thinks he should be jealous. Instead he finds himself smiling too. âIâm glad,â Hunter tells her. âThatâs⌠pretty cool.â
âRight!?â She bounces on her heels and waves a hand through the rift, dismissing it into nothing. âI canât wait to show Amity. And Eda. And King. And you! The human world isâitâs amazing. The rain doesnât kill you even a little bit!â
It takes sudden effort to keep up the smile. ââŚIâve heard.âÂ
âAnyway, I just came by to say hi. Eda said you were here, andââ She stops, visibly hesitating. Her head lowers. âI know⌠I know this must be hard. And that we arenât really friends. But⌠if you need anyone to talk to⌠Iâm here.â She peeks up her head a little, grinning. âAfter all, weâre house buddies now!â
âHuman,â Hunter says. Her nose wrinkles. He sighs. âLuz.â
âYeah?âÂ
Thereâs so much he could say that for a moment he has no idea where to start. Why did you think this was a good idea. Please stop talking. Why are you so insistent that we could be friends. I didnât say I was staying here for long. Iâm very tired. Youâre bizarrely forgiving. My uncle is dead because of you.Â
ââŚThanks,â he says. âAndâ Iâm sorry.â
Luz blinks at him. Then she grins. âNoooo problem, olâ buddy olâ pal!â
Hunter shoves her stupid smiling face away and closes the door on her toes. Luz yelps and swears and kicks at the door, and yells rude things in that other human language of hers. âByeeeee,â Hunter says, and behind the closed door, Luz makes a muffled noise of rage and shouts, âWould you stop saying that!?â
And it doesnât make things better but it doesnât make things any worse, either, and when Hunter turns away he is almost smilingâso maybe itâs okay.Â
.
The sun sets. The dusty room has been aired out to its best ability, and Hunter has made a somewhat functional and comfy-looking bed in the corner. A sticky note with the boiling sea + ice = human rain idea has been ceremoniously pinned to the empty wall space. In addition to the sticky notes, Luz has donated his âsad, bad boy roomâ what looks to be a dying houseplant. Hunter suspects she gave it to him purely because she has despaired of trying to keep it alive herself. Â
He puts the plant on the windowsill. The palisman apparently loves it. Maybe he should find red tulips for it to eat. Whatever a red tulip is.
He settles next to the palisman on the windowsill, and strokes its head with his finger. He feels strangled and small and the sunset looks alien to him. Everything has changed. Everything is over. He is a powerless witch with a wild magic staff, and he will never be the Golden Guard again.
His eyes burn. He blinks fast. Far down below, he can hear the Owl Lady and Luz arguing over dinner.
âI still donât know what Iâm doing here,â Hunter tells the palisman. The sunset makes all the trees look shadow-like and sharp, outlined in red. It reminds him of his palisman, a little bit. âI donât even like these people. What do you think? Is it too late to head back and dig myself a grave in the rubble?â
Iâm happy I know you, chirps the palisman. It hops from the dying houseplant to the top of his head. Â I love you, I love you.
His throat feels tight. ââŚThat still isnât a real answer.â
I want apple blood for breakfast tomorrow. The palisman nibbles at his hair. It looks tasty.
Heâs quiet for a long moment. Then he closes his eyes. âOkay. Ifâ if you say so.âÂ
The sun is setting, and the light is warm on his face. The Boiling Isles feels, for once, almost something like peaceful. It probably wonât last.
âWeâll stay.âÂ

Heyhey! It's 20th november here and uh, it's my birthday! Yeepee yoohoo or whatevs i suppose, um, is it okay if i request Bakugou, Todoroki, and Tamaki with an S/O who's crying on their bday? Like maybe life has been hard on them for the last few months and now everyone is pressuring them using "act more mature" or "you're old enough to stop acting like a kid" or sumn, and the fact that they're getting older just kinda makes them sad cuz now people are going to expect MORE from them. I hope that's aight, thanksâ¨đ
aaa happy birthday :) if youâre experiencing that then iâm sorry :(( youâre supposed to feel special on your birthday, so this is my birthday treat to you đ¤
youâre sad on your birthday
characters : bakugou katsuki, todoroki shouto, amajiki tamaki
legend : [Y/N = your name] iâll use they/them pronouns. reader has a strong quirk
fic type : headcanons [comfort; angst-ish to fluff]
âżââââ-ăâăââââ-âž

bakugou katsuki
he likes to pretend he doesnât really care that much about your birthday
again, heâs pretty tsundereâ thatâs how katsuki is
IN REALITY
katsuki cares about your birthday a lot
heâs been saving up for your gift for a few months, and he will NOT fuck this up
so, heâs kinda shocked when he sees your melancholic expression the entire day
youâre someone thatâs usually pretty laid back, and you seem pretty carefree
you do what you want, even if it seems a little immature at some times
butâ why do you look that way??
so he comes to confront you around dinner time while holding his gift behind his back, asking what the hell is wrong with you
but your eyes,, theyâre teary eyed
âwhatâs wrong idiot?? isnât it your birthday??â
heâs kinda confused, but his spirit is right
âi donât know katsuki, itâs like itâs crashing down on meâ
your room is dark, so he places the gift onto your desk quietlyâ before running his hands along the side of your arms
âtalk to me, idiot. whatâs on your mind?â
and thatâs when you voice all your worries.
on how youâre getting older and older by the second. even though you guys are still young, the expectations people have on you are building up on you
âeveryone says im being âimmatureâ for my age, and iâm starting to think itâs true.â
you heave, and you push your head against his chest (not wishing to see his face)
âY/N, look at me.â
begrudgingly, you look at himâ tears rolling down your face
and even in the dark, you can see that genuine expression on his face
âfuck everyoneâs expectations. look, it might be pretty plain of me to say this, but does some random extraâs opinion matter? no- hell no. itâs irrelevant.â
and itâs actually quite true, youâre lost for wordsâ are you surprised? no. bakugou has a habit of doing that, catching you by surprise.
âalso, youâre not immature. youâre just really genuine, and take that complimentâ idiot.â
you giggle. youâre no longer cryingâ and you wrap your arms around his torso âthank you, katsukiâ
âno problem, idiot. iâll beat up any idiot thatâll say that shit about you.â
you guys lay in silence for a while, and he pulls you off of himâ and walks back to your gift
âhappy birthday, idiot.â

todoroki shouto
heâs oddly ethusiastic about your birthday
âlove, where do you wanna go on your birthday? iâll get anything you want.â
though, heâs confused when youâre not sharing the same ethusiasm.
youâre pretty relaxed and upgoing, so this is a little off. something is weird.
he doesnât like pushing things onto you, so hours before your birthday,
he comes to your room, and youâre simply staring at the clockâ watching as time passes by you.
âwhatâs wrong, love? itâs fine to hate birthday celebrationsâ
heâs too blunt, but expect that from him
you sigh, trying to find the words that you want to say. he encourages you by running his left hand along your back
âitâs my birthday soon, and everyone is expecting so much of me.â
he blinks
he doesnât understand, butâ heâs waiting for you to elaborate.
âi mean, given my quirkâ iâd see why but. in the end, they always forget that i canât meet their expectations.â
you tear up
âand iâm getting older, and itâs building up on me. i know i have to suck it up some day but.. itâs painful. sometimes i can be a little immature but really- itâs just me trying to save whatâs left of my youth i guess...â
you guys arenât even that old ngl
his expression is pained, and he pulls you into a hug
âiâm sorry love, you shouldnât be feeling that way. you donât have to please everyone all the time, and if you make mistakesâ it shouldnât discredit you for your talent. embrace your personality, even if you find yourself immatureâ iâll always love you regardless.â
you donât say anything, but youâre smiling. thatâs the important part
growing older is still scary, but with shoutoâ it makes the journey less intimidating.
also, he spoils tf out of you on your birthday

amajiki tamaki
oddly enough, heâs doing the midnight countdown with you
youâd guess heâd be asleep by now, since tamaki isnât such a ânight owlâ to be frank
but!! heâs so pumped for your birthday
so heâs anticipating the clock to hit midnight, and when it does..
heâs elated! heâs looking at you for that classical Y/N smile
but itâs not there..? your expression hasnât been this empty.
heâs worried if he made you mad, and his anxiety almost sets off
âd-did i make you mad, Y/N?â
âwhat? no- itâs not that.â
âplease tell me Y/N, iâm not sure if i can go pass this without you telling me..â
you sigh, the moonlight luminating your faceâ enough to showcase that melancholic expression
âitâs my birthday. i know i should be happy but, getting older is so scary- you know?â
he gets it, because he himself has his troubles
but youâre there to calm him down from his worries. thatâs why he fell head over heels for you.
heâs so shockedâ and heâs not the best at comforting, so when you cry
it makes it worse for him. itâs like heâs in that much pain as you are!
âb-bunny, i know how hard it must be.. iâm not the best at this comforting stuff, but i want you to know that iâll always be here. you donât have to match everyoneâs expectations, thatâs what youâve taught me. and i want you to know that i-iâll love you, really! and seeing you in this pain isnât what i want. i donât care if people say youâre âimmatureâ i love you for you, bunny!â
itâs honestly the most tamaki has said, and it catches you off guard too.
he seems equally as surprised as you are, however, his intent is solid.
âthank you, tamaki.â you pull him into a hug, tears rolling down your cheeks âi.. really needed to hear that.â
tamakiâs cheeks are painted a bright red, but he pushes deeper into the hugâ his hands running up and down your back
you finally allow the emotions to spill. all the buildup falling apart, and does tamaki mind? no. not at all, he prefers you to be clear with your emotions the most.
heâll be your #1 supporter, even if he has to speak paragraphs and paragraphs to you
âżââââ-ăâăââââ-âž
likes and reblogs are appreciated, thank you for reading! (happy birthday exclipssesđ¤)

pov: random girl hitting on ur mans so u needa teel em to back off <3
tw: kn1fe, cussing (?), neck snapping (?)
ft: kaeya, diluc, zhongli, & venti :)
kaeya
kaeya can't really control something,, and it's how freaking hot he is.
however, as much as you enjoyed the hooker boy, all of monstadts women (married or not) would hit on him.
it pisses you off, a fucking lot. even though he would turn them down because he was already dating you,, they would not,, i mean NOT,, leave the cavalry captain alone.
and everyday,, at some point,, some random monstadt woman would walk up to you and ask if kaeya was with you.
and man, you have never,, and i mean NEVER,, have wanted to slap a bitch to barbatos.
kaeya would feel bad about it, he'd apologize profusely (as if it would do anything),, but you'd end it almost immedietly with a 'it's fine'
but there was this one woman,, who always came up to kaeya with this big, fat, unattractive uwu voice. that was also the exact same day that you finally had enough of their bs.
"excuse me" you poked her shoulder as she unattractivally flirted with your boyfriend.
"what do- oh, it's you." she'd say, giving a disgusted glare at you as kaeya just stared from behind.
"yeah, hi, it's me." you replied sarcastically. "mind backing off of my boyfriend? i'd really appreciate it!" you stated, knowing it wouldn't work.
"and why sh-"
"or i'll shove this knife into your throat!~" you stated, pulling your pocket knife out.
she ran away as kaeya chuckled giving you a big hug
diluc
even though the two step-brothers look nothing alike,, apparently the name 'kaeya' is so much more easier to remember.
people would go up to aether/lumine and just ask "where's the long haired red bartender from the tavern?" as if he doesn't have a name.
to be honest, you've had the urge to scream "his name is diluc for fucks sake" in front on monstadt, but you sadly,, never got the chance.
why?
because diluc always readsured you it was fine.
but you knew, he hated it.
just from the look on his face when people called him the "red-haired bartender",, he was really hurt.
even though monstadt is a pretty small place, people still didn't know his name, and it angered you.
what pissed you off the most was people hitting on him while you were standing right beside him while holding his hand.
"oh diluc you're so tall and handsome!!" this random girl stated, clinging onto him.
'for once someone remembered his name...' you thought.
"mm." he replied, displaying that he's uninterested since you were holding his hand.
"oh! and who are you?"
'please end me-'
"they're my-"
"oh, a friend!" the girl interuppted.
'tHIS BI-'
"i swear to fUCKING BARBATOS-" diluc stared at you with wide eyes, already enjoying the drama unraveling.
"IF YOUR HILICHURL LOOKING ASS WON'T STOP FLIRTING WITH MY BOYFRIEND I WON'T HAVE A PROBLEM WITH GETTING ALBEDO TO MAKE A POTION THAT WILL DESTROY, AND I MEAN FUCKING DESTROY,, YOUR VOCAL C- oh she's gone?"
diluc was really proud <3
zhongli
okok this homeless bitch forgets mora is a thing,, especially when you're with him.
he'll make you buy something but oh boy,, when his fans are there it feels great to not spend your mora on him.
but the girls that swoon over him are a WHOLE different story.
their flirty looks, dress to impress, high pitched voice, and their too polite.
you can't count how many times a girl has told you to back off even though your his s/o.
but it was fun seeing zhongli suffer,, because you knew you were his <3
but oH bOy,, there was this girl who just made you want to murder her.
"a knife." you mumbled as zhongli chuckled at you.
"[name] don't touch it." he warned, giving you an aggressive look.
"why do you need to tell them what to do and what not to do?? oh that's right,, they're a dog!" the girl laughed, zhongli was absolutely pissed and you were ready to snap her neck.
"suddenly [name] you can take that knife."
"i'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE!" you shouted as you grabbed the knife from it's holder.
you grabbed her buy the neck and placed the knife on her throat as she quivered in her spot.
"one, two, th-"
"[name]."
"but babe.. i wasn't going to hurt her.."
"yet.." zhongli stared at you,, sugesting you put the knife down.
"fine, fine. but you owe me." and with that he nodded as the girl ran away.
venti
the sneaky fuckass was well known with his words,, and it's not okay.
venti could either slide in small sarcastic teasing flirts or on demand drunk flirtting 24/7.
and he always, and i mean ALWAYS flirts with other girls, but the two of you know it's a joke because barbatos himself knows he'll drag you into an alleyway for a lil' makeout shesh and shower you with some lovely words.
his love songs also described you,, a little too much. but i mean, it was really freaking cute.
as much as his fans loved him, he spent about 30 minutes after hos preformance with him, and if it felt like forever for you,, then you'd end up stealing him from you. but there was this one time this girl would not let go of him.
"venti!!~" you whined as you ran up to him, engulfing the bard in a hug.
"hi [name]!" venti grinned back along with serving a hug.
"aether told me to come and get you since he needed something, if that's alright that is."
"oh it-"
"i'm seriously tired of this bullshit already, who are you and why do you take him away every so often?! seriously, the world doesn't revolve around you!" a blonde girl shouted as an irk mark appeared on you and venti.
"oh, is it my fault the honorary knight of monstadt need the bard? i'm sorry for aether needing him." you replied sarcastically, the girl getting more fed up.
"yes, in fact it is your fault! you take him away because of your fucking jealousy that we get to spend more time with him than you do! i've seen you sitting from a far watching all of us talk to him! bitch." she answered, walking up to you as she then slapped you.
"hey, cut it out! seriously what the heck!" venti glared at her, as he turned to face you. "[name] are you okay???" he questioned, grabbing the cheek the random girl slapped gently.
"rest assured that i'm fine, it's best you get aether and paimon incase things begin to escalate." you smiled as he nodded in response, making his way to the knights headquarters.
"pfft, you can't even fight can you? well i sure can! so test me!" she grinned preparing to throw punches.
"mhm, ok yeah sure." you laughed, letting her take the first hit, as she stood there absolutely confused.
"what are you waiting for?! hit m-"
"no."
"i'm sorry what?"
"i said no, are you fucking deaf?"
the girl fumed as she began to swing, that was her first mistake. reluctantly, you doged her punch. pulling out your weapon, you stared at her.
"should i, or should i not stab you right here?"
"[name] are you alright?!" venti and aether shouted as they bith dashed towards you.
"ah, i'm fine!" you replied, grabbing venti's hat as you pht it onto yours.
"i suggest you leave before i snap your neck." you told the blonde as she stumbled in shock, running away from your dark aura.
"you're amazing." venti laughed.

Venti: Friendship HCs
YES! YES! YES! Youâre absolutely beautiful anon, I love friendship HCs. I have yet to get a Venti rq at the time of writing this [I actually have another one that came in yesterday (?) but that one is a bit special].
I wasnât sure if you meant MC as in a reader or the actual MC [Aether and Lumine]. I still used âyouâ but if you meant Aether/Lumine just lmk.
Also, these few weeks might be a bit slower since Iâve got major assignmentâs coming up.
---
Part 2:Â Venti and Diluc: Friendship HCs
---
Venti: Friendship HCs
If you want this bard to do anything, just run at him with some slime condensate on your hands and heâll scream bloody murder. Â
He likes apples and lively places so whenever he has free time, which is almost all the time, heâs either dragging you to taverns or out to pick apples. If you mention that you needed to buy cheese he might look at you differently.
If youâre both under the Mondstadt tree and just hanging out he might sing you songs or new poems heâs heard. Some of them are old poems or oneâs heâs created. Sometimes heâll just play the lyre as you both listen to the wind rustle the treeâs leaves.
Venti has a rather mischievous attitude and is quite bold so if anyone is giving you a hard time heâll slide in without fear and insult them. Is the type to stick his tongue out at the offender as he drags you somewhere else.
It sometimes freaks you out when Venti switches to his Wind Archon self and startâs spitting metaphorâs like heâs Shakespeare. But heâll switch back into his Venti persona and itâs starting to feel like heâs doing it on purpose to make your head spin.
No matter what season or weather, Venti wantâs to have fun. If itâs raining then itâs a competition to see who can make the biggest splash. If itâs snowing and too cold to go outside, Venti is going to element burst snow at your face. You should have dodged he says.
He will push you to make friends with Diluc just to feed his wine addiction, even though thereâs no way Diluc would let you sample anything. Heâll push your towards Diluc in hopes youâll distract him enough for Venti to sneak something out but so far it hasnât worked.
If you ever need a boost to justtt grab that apple or even to reach a jar on the top shelf heâll skyward sonnet you. Even as paperâs fly or youâve hit your head heâll just ehe his way out.
If Venti is taking a bit too many liberties, just threaten that youâll get a pet cat. Heâs allergic to them so he wonât be able to hang out with you but youâll have a whiny bard yelling at you in public with no shame. Itâs not like you would actually do that but itâs nice knowing he appreciates your company. Sadly catâs seem to like him. Youâll have to pry him away from a tree and telling him that no, catâs are not vile archon killing beasts.
If we were in modern times he would be the guy that pulls up to a ice-cream shop with kids in the back and orderâs for himself only. Best way to avoid Venti stealing hands is to eat something with cheese.
Itâs always hilarious when people think heâs underaged even though heâs older than Mondstadt itself. When he turns to you to prove that he is, in fact, of legal age to drink just turn away and pretend you donât know who this green bard is. I donât know him officer. Â
Heâll make a big deal of you being his disciple and writing songs about you but if you turn him down heâll get immediately sadden, which is a kick in the heart, and youâll take it back.
He wants to roam free and experience the world. Now that Dvalin has been saved and Mondstadt has returned to its peaceful life, he insist he must join you in your adventure. He sayâs itâs for bard purposes but he might just be a bit lonely.
If you ever mention you would to see someplace in the sky or to be able to fly, Venti will actually treat it quite seriously. If youâd like a feather from an eagle heâll immediately get one for you. Itâs a bit of a somber time with him when he hands it to you but he quickly covers it up.
If you want to learn the lyre heâs actually a good teacher when he wantâs to be. Do what you love while you still can. Make the world a place you want to live in.
Then heâll ruin the mood by asking you to braid his hair.
âYou know Venti, your hair is actually really nice,â you commented as you folded blue strands of his hair over each other to create his signature braids. You were both under the huge tree next to the Statue of the Seven. It was one of Ventiâs favourite places and it was peaceful. Only occasionally a researcher might stop by but either then that, it was just animals.
âYou think so?â Venti asked as he opened one eye to look up at you. He was lying on his back with his head resting on your knee, quietly strumming his lyre. You werenât sure what tune he was playing but it sounded familiar.
âYeah, how your hair turns to blue at the tips. Itâs a really nice colour. Were you born with hair like this? Is this some special Archon power that gives you colour bending hair?â you chucked at your joke as you tied the end of the braid. There all done.
âWe could dye your hair!â Venti exclaimed as he shot upward almost hitting your forehead if you didnât dodge out of the way. Whenever youâre with Venti you always end up with friendly fire, maybe youâre developing a Venti reflex? Venti looked at you and you could almost see the excitement rushing to his brain
âUm, how?â you asked, you werenât aware there were ways to dye your hair in Mondstadt. The most you could get was food, flowers, and materials. Maybe you could craft dye?
âHmm...â Venti thought for a bit, the excitement that had been rushing to his brain started to simmer down. He shrugged in his happy-go-luck manner, âWell, weâll figure it out! You know Liyue is a lot bigger than Mondstadt, maybe we can find something there?â
âVenti. Iâm not letting you play mad scientist with my hair,â you deadpanned, the last time you let Venti âexperimentâ was with food and your stomach is still crying from that. This would either work or youâll end up with all your hair burned off if his cooking skills were anything to go off by.
âAww come on. Donât you want to be colourful too? Oh, maybe we should make your hair a rainbow wouldnât that be a sight, come on letâs take a trip to Liyue,â he laughed as he dusted himself off before offering a hand for you to take.
âWonât you miss Mondstadt?â you took his hand as he pulled you up. He crossed his arms, giving an overexaggerated thinking face.
âHmm maybe a little bit but Iâve been watching Mondstadt ever since I became an Archon. It doesnât hurt to venture out and explore. Fly over new heights and see thingâs weâve never seen before. At least while we still have the freedom to.â Venti smiled softly as his eyeâs seemed to be staring at something far away, or maybe he was looking back? Â
"Venti...â you started, before quickly taking the end of that sentence back. Venti doesnât really talk about the past and you didnât want to ruin the earlier mood, âAlright. Letâs go. No time like the present.â
âOh, we should take the scenic route. Iâve heard Liyue is especially pretty this time of year. You think Liyue has any good wine? Maybe I can finally stop getting mistaken as a child or-â
You sighed as he kept rambling as you dusted the grass from your clothes. As much as tried to keep a calm face you could feel excitement building in your chest. You grinned as you clenched your hands still and ran past him cutting off his sentence.
âCome on Venti! If youâre too slow Iâll leave you behind!â
âWha- Hey! Thatâs not fair! Time out! Time out!â

BRO U LIKE GENSHIN? since we r talking abt paimon i found her rlly cute in the beginning but my main problem with her is her goddamn voice. so high and it gets progressively higher as the game goes on. it was rlly nice and calm in the beginning and now sheâs screeching. i also have a massive problem with silent traveller. they tried to do a breath of a wild thing where the main character is silent but the difference is, their main character has options that are apart of the convo. aether and lumine are just there. we get options sure but they donât do anything. paimon speaks for us and thatâs really annoying because what if we have a separate idea from that? they can keep the silent traveller but hoyoverse, donât make it seem like a one on one convo with paimon and the npc. another massive problem i have is the character designs. idk if youâve seen yelanâs physics but her boob ones? immaculate compared to lisa. and the heizou leaks? heâs so pretty. if theyâre able to do that they should be able to do justice to ittoâs body. heâs an oni? not a muscular man like itto should be massive. donât get me started on dilucâs face. he looks a like a grumpy baby. and albedoâs hair????? it looks so flat ingame and i understand it might not work but im sure they can elevate it a bit more? and we now arrive on the biggest problem of them all, resin and rng. fuck resin. thatâs it. either donât make everything locked behind resin, or make the cap higher. no way is someone supposed to do everything they want with 160 resin when all domains and bosses are 20 and 40. and fix the stupid ass rng???? i donât want to be doing domainâs multiple times and my resin running out and finishing it with one good artifact. and even after getting one good artifact leveling it up relies on rng. like yeah you get a good substat but now, you have to once again rely on rng for that substat to be upgraded as well. okay this was rlly long but itâs just so annoying and frustrating bc we all know hoyoverse can fix this stuff but they donât bc capitalism yass
God, Paimon just... Is so goddamn irritating and nearly made me quit the game in the first place. Her voice makes my teeth feel itchy and i have to keep muting her at this point so i dont get a headache.
BUT YES THANK YOU, if silent protagonist, why take away perks of having a silent protagonist by having the world's most annoying little bitch speak for us.
Like im sorry, but if Paimon was like... Bibble, from Barbie, and spoke in squeaks and noises and yet the traveler was the only one to understand her and everyone else was just ??? Like, translating her words for the player and we can chat with her that way, i'd love that way more. Also, it would hit harder if the only words the traveler ever say are to their twin, or something. Like, imagine how much better that would be! Rather than having a diaper demon speak for me and being a little cunt.
Ngl, i don't really look too much into character design, but the genshin women... They do feel designed by a horny incel. Specifically when it comes to boob physics?? Why do they need to have physics??? But the genshin art looks so much better than the models in game? Specifically @ diluc, like he's super hot out of game but the model? Suddenly he's not the hottest dude in mondstadt, he's a grumpy newborn.
Honestly, the resin is one of the many mechanics that just don't really make sense? Like, i can see how they thought it was a good idea, but several in game features don't.. Work.
Also, I have a personal vendetta against the pause screen. Because, say, if you go from the menu and want to go into your inventory to fucking heal up, instead of pressing alt and selecting the inventory backpack, because its easier.
Why.... Would you make time continue in the space between going from the fucking menu... To the inventory? To the Wish screen? TO THE CHARACTER SCREEN? Like, it's... Neat? Idk what they were going for but it just pisses me off at times, because you can't move in that time but enemies can and its enough time to get a fucking swing in. Also some of the enemies are legitimately fun but some aren't levelled correctly at all? It's just irritating.
Edit: paimon is the main character
I'm just basically her oversized Swiss army knife that she sets on people.
Therefore... I want to put her in a washing machine
