Showing emotions | Natasha Romanoff
Tumblr media
Pairing: Natasha Romanoff x Reader
Prompt: “You know it’s okay to show emotion, right?”
Warning: Hurt comfort and metion of a childhood lived without a mother/being taken away from a parent.
masterlist | requests: closed | words: 750
Natasha had always been a private person when it came to her emotions. It took a long time for her to share her feelings for you before you started dating and many more months to get used to sharing her emotions in any way. She had come a long way since you first started dating, but due to her past there were some emotions she’d rather keep to herself.
You would always be there for her no matter what and you hoped that Natasha knew that. That is why you like to remind her at random times during the week. You’d tell her things like, “I’m always here for you.” Or “Anything for you, my love.” When she asks you for something.
So, when you came home and saw Natasha sitting at the kitchen table wiping the tears off her face, you rushed to her side. “Hey, what’s wrong, love?” She shakes her head, “No, it’s nothing. I’m fine.” You notice she’s looking down and not meeting your eyes. You move your hand towards her cheek and move her head gently to make her look at you, “You know it’s okay to show emotion, right?”
You slowly stroke her cheek with your thumb. By the look in your eyes and the way you’re holding on to her face, Natasha knows that she and her emotions are safe with you. She leans into your touch, and you put your other arm around her to hold her close. Her head now leaning on your chest while you rub soothing circles on her back with one hand and your other hand is going through her hair. Something you knew Nat loved.
You were glad Natasha was getting her emotions out and would sit there with her soothing her for how ever long she needed you too, because bottling up feelings wasn’t good for anyone’s mental health. Natasha spends some more time in you arms before she decided to share the thoughts that were going on in her mind.
“What if I don’t know how to be a good mother for our future kids? I didn’t grow up with a mother and I don’t even remember her because I was so young when they took me away. For three years growing up I had Melina, the closest thing to a mother I have ever had. But then she got taken away from me too. I barely have any experience on the subject from my own childhood, I’m scared that I won’t be good enough.” Natasha says with a sad look on her face.
“Darling, remember how excited you were when you told me for the first time you’d like to have kids with me in the future and how you were telling me what way you imagined our future to be like? We said we will figure out all the things together, because it’s you and me against the world. We will always go through everything with the other by our side, you will never have to be alone. And with that being said I would also like to mention that we can take all of that as slow as you need to go and only when you’re ready for it.” You reassure her. “As for the experience part, my love, though I know that like you said for most of your childhood you didn’t have a mother figure in your life, but I think you have created your own experience from the way you care for the team. Remember when Wands first joined the team, and you were there for her every step of the way? Or when Peter got sick that one time while Aunt May was out of town? And not to forget your bond with your sister. An older sister bond is often very parent like, and you’re so protective over her and you always want to make sure she knows she will always have you to be there for her. You are a natural at taking care of people and all those different experiences have given and will continue to give you all aspects that are going to make you an incredible mom and I will be very lucky to co-parent with you.”
Natasha felt much more confident, she hadn’t realized that all of those experiences we’re based on a motherly aspect of her personality. Ultimately she was glad that she shared her emotions with you, because now she felt a lot better and more reassured about the future.

Media Reflection - Blue Giant and Live Jazz
For two of my free days while I’ve been in Japan I went out to local Jazz bars. One in Tokyo (Pit Inn), and the other in Kyoto (Zac Baran) I was treated to wonderful live performances done by “amateur” musicians. I put amateur in quotations as I do not mean it in any detractive sense. The people I heard play weren’t professionals but the passion for music was evident in every single one of them. The first bar in Tokyo was a sort of open mic (more like a open stage) event with anyone in attendance being allowed to play. They even asked me but I didn’t have my instrument and I haven’t played in a long long time. A majority of the players at this bar were older, and their experience on their various instruments was evident. The event itself was also on the cheaper side (primarily why I went) but I wouldn’t have wanted anything else as I got to see many different groups of people play one song after another for about 2 hours of sweet Jazz. Near the end of the performances I was even able to hear singers contribute, and while English may not have been their first language they gave it their all. At the second bar, it was a duo and the chemistry between them was tangible. They played off each other the whole night, singing in a Bob Dylan-esque fashion. While it was only a guitar and drums they played a wide range of music (rock/blues/jazz). This performance was completely free, so these two men were playing just for the sake of it and that warmed my heart. Music can be many things, but one of the main reasons I pursue it is for the soothing effect it can have on my own soul. I went to this bar last night, and as we near the end of our trip my own mental health and weariness for home had begun to effect me. These two men helped me quite a bit that night.
The media I consumed back home is the manga Blue Giant! Blue Giant is about a young high school boy who ignites a newfound love and wish for music (specifically the saxophone) after he leads a fairly ordinary life pursuing other hobbies such as sports. The song he listens to that starts him on this journey was by Miles Davis, and the love for the “Blue Giants” from the West is evident at both jazz bars I went to. At Pit Inn large pieces of vinyl held portraits of artists Miles Davis, Nat King Cole (and others) along the walls. The reverence to these artists is clear as the jazz standards each musician had at Pit Inn was filled with the classics created by these giants. The manga holds this same reverence, with certain panels feeling as if the music is infused into them (I would listen to Miles Davis when the main character Dai would play and it felt like he was playing).
However, what came through the most from the manga that I saw in real life was the passion. While professional jazz players exist in Japan, the landscape is not quite the same as it is in the US. While I can’t say this with 100% certainty, conservatories and audiences don’t exist here in Japan on the scale that they do back home. However, that isn’t what jazz is about. Jazz is purely about passion, about the heat of playing. Especially at Pit Inn, where the room was filled with fellow musicians it was clear that no one was restricting themselves. Each song every individual that was part of the piece had a solo, and they just let it fly. Halfway through the night, in the middle of a solo a fellow artist on stage might play a short accent allowing the soloist to go off onto another plane with their music.
The manga also reflected the reality of the age of those who played. While Dai is a highschool student he is largely mentored by older veterans, who only want to see him grow. While some young people played at Pit Inn, it was clear that they were reverent to their senpai (and the oldest gentleman there was the one guiding the event by calling names of those who signed up to play). This feeds into be larger legacy of jazz as an art form, as a tradition that is built upon by generations.
I’m so glad I pursued both of these opportunities. While I haven’t quite finished the manga, I will now return to it with a renewed vigor and appreciation at the reality of live music in Japan that it presents.
PS: Fun find at the Kyoto Manga Museum was a mold of mangaka Shinichi Ishizuka who authors Blue Giant. You can see a photo of it all the way at the bottom of my post.

Natasha met you post-Black Widow. She was helping out Yelena with freeing the Widows’ when she came across you.
You were a teen at the time - but still brainwashed. Thankfully because of your age you hadn’t been brainwashed into doing anything too bad yet, but you were almost finished with your training.
Something struck Natasha when she saw you. Looking back on it, she assumes it was the fact that like her and Yelena, you had been put into the Red Room at a young age, and you were the first teen they saw while on these various missions.
While she was okay with fighting the other Widows’, it was hard for Natasha to fight you. At the time, she brushed it off as not wanting to hurt a kid, but she knew that she was taking a liking to you.
Which was why, when Yelena managed to free you, and you told them that you had nowhere to go, Natasha felt the need to do something about it. Unlike the other Widows’ who were adults, you couldn’t go out into the world alone and, after talking with Yelena, Natasha decided to take you along with her.
It wasn’t adoption per say, at least at first, but it was close enough.
You jumped at the opportunity to tag along with Natasha and while Yelena continued the Widows’ mission, Natasha took you back to Melina’s house., where you met Melina and Alexei.
You were wary around them at first, clinging to Natasha, but you warmed up.
However, it wasn’t long before Natasha had to go on the run again. She offered you the chance to stay there with Melina and Alexei but you had grown very close to Natasha and wanted to come with her.
So, you did.
It was difficult, escaping authority and having to constantly be moving, but it in a way it strengthened yours and Natasha’s bond. You guys got closer and learned to work together — as fighting partners as well as mother/daughter.
Which was why, not having known your biological parents or where they were, the word ‘mom’ easily fell off her lips.
It happened when you guys were eating take-out in your latest house. Natasha had passed you the water pitcher and “thanks, mom” just came so naturally.
For a second, you didn’t realize what you had said, until you looked up to see Natasha staring at you with wide eyes.
Then, it hit you. Holy shit my god. Had you just said that?? What just happened?
You got scared that Natasha would react badly, but it was the opposite. A huge grin broke out on her face and even happy tears of pure joy.
When you asked her what was going on, she said: “I’ve never been a mother.”
That’s when you smiled and hugged her and you officially agreed on becoming mother and daughter.
Natasha was worried on being a mother at first, scared that she messed it up, but after reassurance from Melina via a phone call, she fell into the role naturally.
She became much more protective.
Not that you minded.
This went on until the Avengers called upon Natasha to fight Thanos.
She brought you along with her and the team was thoroughly stunned.
“wHO ArE yOU???”
“NATASHAAAA”
Yeah, it was chaotic.
You weren’t fazed though and quickly befriended Wanda and attempted to befriend Vision.
Steve and Sam also became like uncles.
Tony was a bit more difficult because you initially blamed him for you and Natasha on the run, so you were distant at first.
You were also kinda disappointed that Clint wasn’t there. You had wanted to meet him (and Natasha wanted you to meet him) after the stories you heard.
Nonetheless, you went to Wakanda and that’s where you met Bucky. It wasn’t long before he became another uncle.
You absolutely loved fighting alongside Okoye and meeting Shuri. You were fascinated by her technology.
You also kicked ass on the battlefield.
But then . . . You lost.
You watched Bucky disappear and even though you hadn’t known him for nearly as long as Natasha and Steve did, you still felt great pain.
Then you learned to that Sam and Wanda had gotten snapped and it got worse.
The days leading after were some of the most difficult days ever.
It was the first time you had to be strong for your mom, seeing as she had lost her friends too, and you panicked at first.
But you had been her daughter for awhile now and you knew what to do. You hugged Natasha and was there for her.
In the months coming, you helped the reminding heroes rebuild the world and you eventually joined the Avengers under your mother’s lead.
You also met Clint but it wasn’t a happy meeting, really, since he had lost his family.
You continued on as an Avenger with Natasha by your side. You met Carol and she was like an aunt and was amazing.
Things started to turn on the bright side when one day Natasha walked in with a genuine smile and held papers.
You could only guess what they were for at first, but quickly was shown and freaked out (a happy freak out) after.
Adoption papers.
You jumped and yelled and screamed and cheered, unbelievably happy that this was becoming official official.
You were Natasha’s daughter.
While the past few years had been difficult, this made it all worth it. You didn’t know where you’d be without Natasha and she was always with you.
Eventually, the team had a plan to defeat Thanos.
Which felt liked a miracle.
Natasha lives because I say so.
You and her got to tag-team Thanos’ enemies.
Literally the best team since Clint and Nat.
(Clint was jealous)
Then, you got everyone back!
You were SO happy to see Bucky, Sam, and Wanda again, and so was Natasha.
After you all reunited and the world went back to semi-normal, you and Natasha visited Yelena, Alexei, and Melina who were beyond happy to see you both.
Things started to turn up again and you were so grateful to have Nat at your side.
She was the best mom EVER.
Always looking out for you and protecting you
If any of the other Avengers made the slightest of snide comments, she was on them like a bloodhound
She always reminded you to hydrate and was always asking you how you were doing
It was hard to believe that she hadn’t had any experience with children before
Well, she had, with Clint’s kids, but still
Speaking of Clint’s kids, they all looked to you like an older cousin
But getting back to Natasha
She insisted that only she would train with you, not trusting the team to not injure you (besides, she knew you best)
You loved training with Natasha too
She always made it fun, putting on music and stuff
It helped you had similar music tastes
She also would always gush to anyone but really Clint, Sam, or Bucky on how cute and adorable you were
And they definitely agreed
One time during movie night you fell asleep with your head on Nat’s shoulder
She was so happy
Made Bucky take a picture
But she did feel a little bad because you must be tired
So she carried you to your room and put you to bed, kissing you goodnight
You had missed out on a childhood so it was nice for your mom to bring you to bed
All in all Natasha was the best thing to happen to you
Despite it being tough, you were thankful for every second of it

MCU!Peter Parker x Enemy!Reader
Synopsis: reader and Peter have been dating for a handful of years. Neither of them had expected, however, to be on opposite sides of a battle.
A/N: Just because tasm!Peter is my fave, doesn't mean I don't write for mcu!Peter :) I feel like I should clear that up lol.
Tags: None as of yet, but if you'd like to be tagged in any future works involving mcu!Peter, just let me know and I'll make sure to add you then :)
Warnings: lots of angst, swearing, canon-typical violence, but nothing too bad.
And also, reader is not American in this. I imagine they're from some sort of fictional country in the Marvel universe, but I left it open for interpretation. Could be Sokovia, could be Canada... It's up to you lol.
Tumblr media
You held your breath as you watched your opponents line up. These used to be your allies: you had fought alongside these people on numerous occasions, even went to space to kick an alien's ass with them.
When you were fourteen and suddenly gained the ability to control the weather, it was the Avengers who had taken you under their wing. Clint had practically adopted you, while Nat was like an older sister or aunt to you. You were closest to them, although you did love the others as well.
But Clint and Nat were the only ones of the original team to be standing by your side right now. Thor was off doing whatever it was he did when he wasn't trying to stop his brother from total word-domination, and you weren't sure where Bruce was, but Tony and Steve were on the opposite side of this conflict.
You couldn't help but find it ironic: not too long ago, it had been them having a fight like this. Only recently the whole team had somewhat reconciled, and now you were already tearing them apart again.
But this was on them.
You were the only one who knew perfectly well how absolutely fucked up the government of your country was, and you were the only one who knew perfectly well how hated the Avengers were in your country. It was why you didn't live there anymore.
When the Avengers had learned about some secret weapons program that might have ties to HYDRA, they had decided to strike hard and fast before it could become more than it already was.
You warned them not to do it, begged them, but Tony and Steve -who, you supposed, were the unofficial leaders of the Avengers- decided your opinion didn't matter because you were too young. They were arrogant enough to believe your country wouldn't strike back against them.
That they wouldn't use HYDRA's faulty weapons to fend off the invasion -because that was what it was, there was no way around it.
That the weapons wouldn't blow up half the country, and your family with it.
Steve and Tony's ego was the reason your family was dead.
You couldn't be blamed for wanting to hold them accountable. You couldn't be blamed for wanting revenge. You had tried to stop them, you knew what it was like in your country, and they ignored you because you were barely eighteen and had no idea how HYDRA worked.
So you threatened to go to the press to make their actions public and start a lawsuit going against the Avengers who had participated in the attack.
Who were, apparently, willing to battle it out with you for refusing to back down.
They murdered half a country, and yet you were the bad guy.
You knew now how Wanda had always felt.
She was on your side as well, still not a fan of a Stark, but also immensely understanding of your situation. And Vision would follow Wanda to the ends of the earth, so he was with you as well. The ant guy, Scott, had shown up as well. You had no idea who had called him, but it didn’t matter: you were grateful for his support.
Steve and Tony had Sam and Rhodey on their side, but save for Cap, they all relied on mechanical suits. Suits that could very easily be thrown out the air by sudden gusts of wind and bolts of lightning.
And then there was your boyfriend, Peter, who was trying to stay out of this. You couldn’t blame him, not really. You were important to him, yes, but so was Tony. Tony was practically a father figure to him. You understood he didn’t want to get caught up in this mess.
“You don’t have to do this, (Y/N),” Steve called across the open space between you.
“No,” you said softly, letting the wind carry your voice to them. “But you didn’t have to invade my country either.”
You saw Tony roll his eyes, knew he was about to pull the HYDRA card. “They were working with HYDRA-“
“Were they?” you cut him off. “The hundreds of thousands of people you killed?”
“You’re being unreasonable,” Steve tried to reason, but you saw Sam and Rhodey exchange an uncomfortable look. “Your government was working with HYDRA, we had to do something to stop them.”
“I told you not to do it,” you said. “I told you what would happen if you did. And you ignored me, even though I was the only one who had any idea how they’d react. My country doesn’t care for it’s people-“
“Name one country that does,” Tony muttered, but you ignored him.
“-but I thought you guys would. I was wrong.”
“We do care, (Y/N),” Steve argued, always the diplomatic one. “But we had to stop HYDRA.”
“Stop trying to make this about HYDRA!” you snapped, and the wind picked up around you. “This is about how you fucked up.”
“How is it our fault that your country decided to try and blow us up?” Tony retorted.
“Because I told you that would happen! I warned you over and over again, and you still went!”
“We didn’t know the weapons were going to malfunction,” Steve tried.
“No, but you knew they were going to use them. I told you they would. And you. Didn’t. Listen.” You smiled bitterly. “Because I’m just a kid, right? What would I know of how the world works?”
“(Y/N) has a point,” Wanda said, putting a hand on your shoulder.
You weren’t aware of how tense you were until you felt yourself relax a little at her touch. You weren’t sure if she was using her powers, but you didn’t particularly care either. Wanda’s magic had never scared you.
“You never listen,” she continued, her flowery dress billowing around her legs in the strong winds. “You never consider that someone might know anything better than you.”
“This isn’t about our egos, Wanda,” Tony said, clearly exasperated, but Wanda wasn’t done yet.
“Isn’t it? Because from what I recall, this isn’t the first time your ego has gotten people killed. Maybe you have the luxury of forgetting about Ultron, but I don’t. Because he’s the reason my brother is dead. And you know what the worst part is? I saw how sorry you were, and I forgave you. And then you turned around and did it again.”
You saw Tony falter, but Steve sighed. “It looks like we’re not going to be able to solve this by talking.”
“What are you going to do, Cap?” you asked. “Kill us all so we can’t start that lawsuit? I mean, what’s five more people, right?”
“Speaking of five,” Clint started, sounding a little smug. “You do realise you’re outnumbered, right?”
There was a moment of silence, no sounds but the howling winds your anger had caused.
“Actually, they’re not.”
You didn’t want to turn around. You knew who you’d see if you did, and it already took all of your control to keep from striking him with lightning. Seeing his face wouldn’t help.
“Really?” you heard Clint ask. “I thought you were better than this.”
“I’m sorry, Mr. Barton,” Peter said, sounding closer as he pushed through your little group, and you closed your eyes.
“I’m not the one you should be apologising to, kid.”
“I know.” You felt someone grab your arms. “(Y/N), will you look at me?”
“If I do, it’s only to blast you into a million little pieces,” you said, but you opened your eyes anyway.
Peter looked torn. “(Y/N), I’m sorry. I didn’t mean-“
“You didn’t mean what?” you cut him off. “You didn’t mean to betray me? You didn’t mean to condone the murder of several thousands of people? What, Peter? What the fuck do you think you can say that makes this shit okay?”
“It’s not like that, I swear, I just- I…”
He fell silent, which was enough of an explanation. The worst part was that you weren’t nearly as angry as you could’ve been. Peter was forced to choose between his mentor and father figure, and his significant other. And after his luck with father figures, you weren’t upset with him for picking Tony’s side.
You were, however, pissed that he had lied to you about it.
“I thought you said you were gonna stay out of this,” you reminded him.
He had the nerve to look hurt. “I’m sorry.”
“Yeah, I’m sure you are,” you muttered.
“But you don’t have to do this.”
You stepped back. “I do. You’ve made your choice, now respect mine.”
Wanda touched your arm again, a silent sign of support, and you looked past Peter, who was still hesitantly standing in the middle of what would soon be a battlefield, to Tony and Steve.
“Are we gonna do this or not?”
“I’d rather not have to,” Steve replied. “But you’re not giving me a choice.”
“You have plenty of choices. You just have a tendency to make the wrong ones.”
You didn’t give anyone the opportunity to protest. If you know there’s gonna be a fight, make sure you throw the first punch was what Nat always said. She didn’t have to say it now for you to know she was thinking it.
You raised your hands and called down hail the size of basketballs, going straight for Steve. It wouldn’t knock him out, he could withstand this, but it would at least slow down any attack he came up with.
From the corner of your eyes you saw one of Peter’s webs flying your way, but you threw out your arm and a gust of wind threw it of course.
Meanwhile, Nat was busying herself with Steve. Looked like Steve was getting fried today. Oh well, he chose to do this.
Scott was now several feet taller and attempting to bat Sam out of the there while Wanda went for Rhodey. Clint was trying to disable Tony’s suit without accidentally killing Tony.
You ignored everything that was going on around you and focused on Peter, who looked like he’d rather be anywhere else.
“(Y/N), please,” he pleaded.
You were tempted to bring a hailstorm down on him, or make a blizzard and let his issues with thermoregulation take care of it.
“I already told you: we’ve both made our choices.”
You tried to knock him off his feet with a gust of wind, but he dodged it easily, knowing the movements of your hands by heart from years of fighting together.
“They’re sorry about what happened to your family, (Y/N),” he tried desperately, still dodging every gust of wind you sent his way.
“That’s not what this is about,” you snapped, your anger rising -and with it, the pressing heat in the air as well. “You know it isn’t.”
Peter, for his part, made a few valiant attempts to tie your hands together with his webs, but was mostly too busy dodging whatever you went his way.
“I know you’re hurting-“
“Damn right I am!” you spat. “I’m hurting, these assholes think everything they do is justified, and you- you think not disappointing your mentor is more important than doing the right thing!”
It happened almost without you realising it. One moment you were snapping at him, the next you were watching as a steady stream of purple-white lightning come down from the sky and hitting Peter square in the chest.
This was the strongest lightning you had ever summoned, and it took all your strength to keep it from getting out of hand and laying waste to everything in its path.
You were barely managing, when someone made the mistake of grabbing your shoulder and yanking you back. You stumbled and lost the control over the lightning you had summoned.
You heard a strange buzzing noise, and then the world exploded into that same purple-white light.
You squeezed your eyes shut to prevent being blinded, and threw your arms up to shield your face. You didn’t dare look up until that buzzing noise had died down.
The second you opened your eyes, you wished you hadn’t. The concrete was scorched black in intricate patterns. No one was left standing. Not even Peter or Steve, who both had superhuman endurance. Everyone was sprawled on the ground, passed out -or worse.
You staggered back. This was your fault. Your powers had caused this. You could’ve killed them -fuck, you might have. You were too scared about the answer to try and find out.
All you knew was that you had to get away from here, as far as you could possibly get.

Being a genius/billionaire/superhero’s kid doesn’t always sound nice like it usually does.
You were one of the Stark twins, the other half being your brother, Ethan.
The both of you showed signs that you inherited the commonly known Stark trait (intelligence) at a young age. But Tony mostly focused on his son, showing him all his inventions and gadgets, teaching him everything he knew while you on the other hand, were being babysat by Happy or Pepper, sometimes Rhodey.
You tried so hard to get your father’s attention but he always had his excuses:
“I don’t have time for that.”
“I’m busy with Ethan right now.”
“Maybe later.”
At first you didn’t mind if your brother got all the praise and attention. It wasn’t until your mid-teens that you really started to feel left out and ignored.
You were left to frown when the other Avengers never found anything interesting about you, just like Tony did. They all liked Ethan better. The topic of him being the next Iron Man when Tony retires is getting exhausting.
There was this one time when Tony announced that they were all going out to dinner since Ethan got, yet again, a full set of A’s on his report card.
“Did you get my card?” You tapped on Tony’s shoulder lightly.
He gave you a side glance, “ah shoot, I forgot. I’ll go get it tomorrow.” Then returned his attention to your brother.
But he ended up forgetting again the next day and you had to convince your teacher to give it to you instead. Your marks had A’s, but littered with B’s as well, of course that was no match for your brother’s perfect marks.
And that sort of scenario wasn’t just a one time thing, Tony forgets to pick up your report card every. single. time. The messed up part was you and Ethan literally attended the same school, he was just in a more advanced class than you.
As time passed, Tony went from ignoring you to getting annoyed and pissed at you for everything you did. In his eyes, you were always in the wrong. And the reason? You didn’t know.
“Dad? Can I borrow Bruce for a minute?” You knocked on the glass door of his lab to get him to look up.
He didn’t, but responded, “kinda busy with him right now.”
You looked at your fractured arm, regretting your decisions. “W-well, Ethan was training with Nat, and... and he wanted to try the new moves he learned on me. He went a little hard and - I think my arm’s broken, I just wanted Bruce to check it out-”
“Goddammit!” He shouted after you heard a glass shatter. Bruce covered his face with palms, muttering an ‘oh no’.
Tony glared at you, striding to where you were standing. All that was left for you to do was to brace yourself for what was about to come. “See, this is why we never let you do anything with the team,” he spat. “That right there?”-he pointed to your arm-“that’s on you. Things go wrong because you’re in the way!”
“I’m... I’m sorry-”
“Just get out of here.”
Your arm remained untreated after that.
Then Peter Parker came into the picture. Friendly guy, he was actually nice to you. Him and Ethan got along right away when Tony first recruited him. The fact that he treated Peter better than you made you even more miserable. It made you think he never wanted a daughter in the first place.
You first met Peter when he accidentally entered your room without warning, thinking it was the bathroom. Cliche, but that’s what happened.
“It’s on the first door to your other left,” you stated.
“Yeah, yeah okay, thanks,” he turned around to leave but stopped to look at you again. “I’m Peter Parker, by the way.”
“Y/N Stark.”
Peter’s eyes lit up at your last name. “I... I didn’t know Mr. Stark had a daughter - no offense! It’s just-”
You sighed and waved him off. He didn’t even notice the similarities you had with your twin. “It’s fine. I get that a lot.”
After many events of being, to be blunt, treated like shit, you finally had enough. You neglected your studies, only went to school when you felt like it (which was rare). No one cared your grades anyway, so what’s the point? You became a whole new person, you surrounded yourself with the wrong sort of people, causing you to dabble into smoking and alcohol.
Since you were always in trouble, you could recite Cap’s detention speech at school by heart now.
The principal of your school wanted to see Tony to talk about your behavior. Normally he’d make an excuse not to go if it wasn’t that important but he got flooded with messages from the school, so he couldn’t say no.
You had your legs crossed, sitting across from Tony who had his eyebrows furrowed as he listened to the principal. For some reason you didn’t feel nervous. “Y/N barely attends her classes. I’ve seen every attendance. Are you aware of this, Mr. Stark?”
Tony only maintained his usual relaxed posture and avoided your gaze.
“Some students have also seen her smoke in school grounds. We gave her a few weeks suspension for it, but it doesn’t look like she’s learned her lesson.” They pulled out a couple boxes of cigarettes from the desk drawer. “We found these in her locker.”
“You went into my locker?” You shot up from your seat. “You can’t just do that!”
Tony cleared his throat and got up, gripping your wrist. “I’ll take it from here - will that be all?”
On the way out he doesn’t say a word to you, only that his grip on your wrist got tight as you near the car.
“So,” he started the car. His voice was calm, but it screamed that you were in deep trouble. “What do you have to say for yourself?”
You sighed and slouched in the passenger’s seat, crossing your arms. “I’m... sorry you had to know...?”
“Yeah, I’m just gonna be honest with you here,” Tony still doesn’t look at you. “When I found out I had two kids, I got worried about Ethan.”
You let out a snort. Of course he would.
“I didn’t want him ending up like me. But surprise surprise, my daughter did instead.”
“I’m not ‘ending up’ like you, Dad-”
“Then what do you call - this,” he referred to you. “What, you’re just gonna waste your life, drop out of school? You’re a fucking mess, Y/N, and here I thought I raised you right. Sometimes I think: why can’t you just be like your brother?” He had a hard grip on the steering wheel as he drove, the way he spoke affected the speed of the car greatly.
You opened your mouth to speak but you couldn’t fine the exact words you wanted to say. “I... well, I’m sorry I’m not a goody two shoes like him!”
“That’s not what I-”
“Please, that’s exactly what you meant.”
He scoffed, shaking his head. “Look, I’m grounding you until you pull yourself together, understand?” And he did. He gave new orders to Friday when the both of you got home. You weren’t allowed to leave the compound without Tony’s permission.
Were you giving up that easily? Of course not.
You were on your laptop for the rest of the day, hacking into Friday’s system, the security to the elevator and the entrance. That night, your executed your plan and everything went smoothly.
“This is why you never underestimate me,” you sighed, deactivating the hack once you were out of the building.
Your friend who was picking you up was already waiting a few blocks away from the compound. “I hope you’re cool with me staying over for a couple days.”
“If a bunch of Avengers come and destroy my place to look for you, I’m not going to be friends with you anymore.”
You laughed at out, “oh trust me, they don’t care.”
----
The next day no one noticed your absence, nobody did for another two days. Tony just assumed you were mad about your punishment, so he didn’t think of it much.
Not until Peter came to the compound on the third day, wanting to hang out with you.
“Whatcha got there, Pete?” Ethan asked.
“Star Wars movies. I wanna watch them with Y/N - she could use some company, don’t you think?”
The older Stark twin shrugged, “yeah, I guess she could.”
Peter then headed to the elevator and stopped at the floor where your room was. He knocked on your door and waited a bit, after a few minutes of silence he knocked again, still nothing.
“Y/N? Is it okay if I come in?” He called out. No response. He hesitated a bit, for all he knew you were probably changing or something, or you could be in danger. He went to open the door anyway. “I’m coming in, I’ll close my eyes just to be-”
To Peter’s surprise, your room was empty.
----
You were at a 711 parking lot, waiting for your friends who were buying supplies for a house party. You gave them your wallet, not really caring about anything anymore. Your phone was starting to pile up with messages and missed calls from Tony, Edward and Peter, occasionally from the others as you scrolled pass more.
Without thinking you threw your phone to the ground, cracking the screen, breaking it completely. They’d be able to track you through it now that they know you ran away. You really had no intention of coming back. You weren’t wanted, what’s the point of going back?It’s early but you’ve had a few drinks already. You weren’t sure if breaking your phone was a good idea but there’s one thing you’re sure: you didn’t care anymore.
You didn’t have to turn your head to see who just arrived and ambushed your friends inside the store. They ran out and left you behind. The sound of webs coming out of his shooters was enough for you to tell.
“You shouldn’t be here, Peter,” you sighed defeatedly.
Peter gently took a seat next to you, not removing his mask since you were in public and handed your wallet back. “I don’t understand why you left.”
He took in your awful state. His suit scanned how intoxicated you were, estimated how many cigarette packets you’ve had. His frown deepened at the information.
“I care about you. We all do. Mr. Stark’s not going to stop the search party until you come home.”
You rolled your eyes at the term. “Stupid search party – pathetic – I’m not coming home anymore, Pete-” you slurred and tried to get up but stumbled back, almost twisting your ankle but fell to Peter’s side. “Ow.”
He sighed, struggling to get ahold of you since you always pulled away.
“Stop being so stubborn, okay?”
“If you don’t like my stubborn fucking ass then maybe you should just leave,” you stated. “I’m not wanted there. I got the message. I didn’t run away just to be fucking found.”
Peter stared at you for a moment. He didn’t know why you got grounded in the first place, how you got here and why you didn’t want to go back home. There was something off in the father-daughter relationship, he knew that, but it was news to him that it was that bad. That bad for you to waste your life, to run away. He always thought Mr. Stark was an awesome parent, the way he was treating Ethan, and him…
“It’s unfair,” you ranted. “God, if you only knew how pathetic I feel whenever he tells me off. I’m always annoying to him - not just to him, to the whole team, I’m always wrong in everything I do and it’s honestly tiring? What the fuck do I have to do just to feel loved and wanted?”
You went on rambling while Peter tried to comfort and deny every negative thing that came out of your mouth. He didn’t believe any of it, but the way everyone’s been treating you. He hated that he didn’t notice sooner. He could’ve defended you.
“I have nothing against you, I really don’t,” you sighed. “But you should be grateful they’re treating you perfectly.” You got up and strode to the opposite direction, mentally cursing because your friends ditched you and you has nowhere to go, phone destroyed and everything.
But you were staying true to your word: you didn’t have any plans to go back to the compound. You were going to figure your life out on your own.
“Y/N, I… I’m not leaving you alone out here!”
You were so fed up of the spider-ling. How good he was, how perfect, how Tony clearly wanted him more than you, how he always wanted to do the right thing, because none of you expected what happened next when he went to grab your shoulder. The action was so sudden that it Peter didn’t have time to avoid it.
Knife, shoulder, really deep.
Maybe it was just how wasted you were, because he knew you would never do anything like that.
“You’re really annoying, Parker,” you muttered, not wasting any more time watching him stumble out of shock and pain, sprinting across the streets.
With his uninjured arm, he shot webs while trying to pull the knife (the blade wasn’t even visible anymore on how deep it was) out of his shoulder. There was a loud bang, and Peter never sprinted so fast in his life, not caring less about the pain and blood, because what mattered most was your safety. When he got there, you were far from safe.
-----
A week went by. And during those seven days Tony was on edge, I mean, how can be calm at a time like that?
Peter managed to show up at the compound the same night, breathless and shaky. His state made everyone worried but he wasted no time telling Tony what happened. He got you to the hospital, making sure you were being sorted out right before leaving to break the news.
Tony didn’t think twice and went to the hospital where you were admitted, not listening to Peter’s apologies and leaving Steve to sort everyone out on what they should do.
They didn’t expect you to show signs of waking up after only a week since the accident got you mangled up, it was mostly a blow to the head and as expected, you slipped into a coma.
Right, what happened: an awful timing really, not sure if Peter’s the one to blame but he accidentally stuck you to the ground with his webs, and it just so happened a car was driving at a fast speed – there you go.
Tony made sure you got the best treatment possible. He even went and asked Strange if he could do all the surgeries needed, but he declined, claiming he couldn’t anymore despite the sympathy he felt inside. Instead he asked the best doctors he knew, but still helped out sometimes in any way he could.
You took a breath, trying to open your eyes but the blinding lights of your room and them almost feeling as if they were glued shut from not being open for so long prevented you. You also tried moving your hands, only to feel a warm one rest on top of it, you finally opened your eyes.
“You’re awake,” Tony mumbled, rubbing a thumb on the back of your palm soothingly. “You’re awake and you’re okay.”
“Mr. Stark?” Peter called out, spotting his mentor sitting outside the room where they were doing the final surgery on you. It was his first time visiting, seeing as the knife wound was worse than he thought. “I’m so sorry, I-“
“What happened?” Was the only thing Tony said, not looking up to look at the kid. Peter stood there for a moment but told him everything that happened.
After that and after he made sure you were okay, resting in your room and everything, he let Natasha look after you for the night and headed back to the compound.
The kid would never lie to him but he had to see it all for himself. The Spider-Man suit caught everything through the baby monitor protocol. From when he arrived to the convenient store, when you told him countless of times that you weren’t coming back, and when your drunk self ranted about what you felt.
“What the fuck do I have to do just to feel loved and wanted?”
“He seemed to like both of us equally when we were younger,” you sniffled. “Of course he would, but… my brother just turned out to be special and talented and,” you frowned, “he’s all Tony ever wanted for a kid. Maybe I reminded him of the chick he fucked, I don’t know – must be it, right?”
“Y/N, you’re just as special as-” Peter tried to reason but you threw him a glare. Tony could see the pain and heartbreak in your bloodshot, tired eyes. One that said you didn’t want to hear anything like it anymore. You didn’t want to believe it.
“The thing is, they only want you when you’re gone. Missing. Dead,” you shrugged. “I can take a hint, you know? My only family hates me. My only family doesn’t want me. Now you – all of them – are looking for me… why?” Peter flinched at the loudness of your voice. You truly were broken.
Tony fast forwarded, it didn’t clearly show how you got hit, but he had enough anyway. He wanted to make things right with you. He could only hope that you make pass this, hoping that you’ll let him make it up to you.
“It’s not too late, you know,” Steve said from the entrance to his lab. “Y/N is strong. She’ll make it.”
“Why am I not dead?” You croaked, looking at your father with an anxious expression. You letting out another shaky breath as you struggled to move and look around. “I should be dead. Why am I here-”
“Take it easy-”
“Don’t you understand?” You felt your throat aching, breath quickening. “I don’t want to be here!”
“No, you’re okay. Y/N you’re okay,” Tony tried to calm you down when he saw the lines in your heart monitor go up and down in rapid pace.
“I’m not - no I’m not - not okay,” you struggled to let out. It felt like you were choking on your own breath, getting harder and harder to breathe by the minute, soon tears started to prick your eyes. “I don’t want to be here!”
“Tony, what's going on?” Steve bursted into the room with an alarmed but calm expression.
“Call Strange. Anyone.” He told the captain but his eyes never left you. He rubbed a part of your arm that wasn’t injured soothingly in attempt to calm you down. “Just breathe for me, okay? I’m here and you’re okay.”
Something about the softness and encouraging look in his eyes made you nod eventually and follow his breathing patterns. He held a glass of water for you to drink, holding your struggling hand softly to get it out of the way.
He’s never looked at you like that before.
Most of the time he ignored you, most of the time he looked at you at anger or annoyance when you’ve fucked something up.
“There we go, we okay now?” You looked away and nodded lightly. That was enough for him. Tony wanted to let you know how sorry he was so bad, but thought against it, at least for now. He was scared you might start freaking out again.
Stephen entered the room with the doctor, the other Avengers following closely behind. The amount of people in the room overwhelmed you a bit, but you were strangely calm because of how your father’s acting. Soft and caring, it made you feel safe.
Both doctors concluded that you had some sort of amnesia. In English, your past memories were blotchy, all of them even from your childhood. Again because of the blow to the head it was already expected. But you remembered the recent ones clearly, which was the reason why you avoided looking at Peter and his patched up arm.
Which also meant it was possible you didn’t remember all of the pain you felt concerning your family. It was unfair on your part.
Strange insisted that you stay a few more days, or one more week, just to run tests and make sure you get enough medicine and stuff.
They decided to see how bad your memory loss was.
“I did that to you,” you still refused to look at Peter completely. “I’m sorry, Peter.”
“I’m just glad you’re okay.” Peter gave you a smile.
You moved to the next person. Red hair, seemed to give off a friendly but civil nature. “Natasha? You’re Natasha.”
The Russian merely smiled and crossed her arms.
“Steve,” you stated, moving to the next person. “You always read old books in the kitchen.”
Steve chuckled, nodding to confirm.
“Ethan,” you smiled as you looked at your twin. He gave you a small wave even if he felt as guilty as Tony about everything even if he wasn’t the one to blame.
You stared longer at the next person, almost shoulder length dark brown hair, he’s wearing a jacket to cover his metal arm but you knew it was still there.
“Ducky?”
Peter let out a giggle, so did you brother.
“It’s Bucky, doll,” Bucky smiled, covering his face with his hand to suppress a chuckle as the rest laughed.
“Oh, right, I’m sorry,” you let out a weak giggle yourself.
You meet Tony’s eyes again, the softness still there.
“Dad,” you stated. “You’re my dad. Tony.”
No, you didn’t completely forget how he treated you. You knew he was annoyed with you, which lead you to think that you did something that made him act that way. “Am I bad?”
Tony’s hopeful expression dimmed. “What do you mean, sweetheart?”
You shrugged. “You’re mad at me, I just… I guess it’s just not clear on why.”
Steve thought it would be best for everyone to head out for a bit so he ushered everyone out of the room except for your brother who took a seat at the corner.
“About that, it’s about time we talked, yeah?” Tony sat on a chair backwards beside your bed. It made you nervous, but you were reassured. “You’re not in trouble, don’t worry.”
He exhaled, resting an arm on the top rail. “You deserve so much better. I should’ve treated you better,” you opened your mouth to ask but he continued. “Look, I haven’t been fair with you and it’s a problem. You’re smart, talented and beautiful. I figured you needed to hear it more often because it’s true. What I’m trying to say is, I’m sorry. I really am.”
Your bottom lip involuntarily trembled. “You – you really mean that?”
“From the bottom of my heart.”
You sighed, a genuine smile plastered on your face. “Thank you. And I’m sorry if I was a pain in the ass-“
“You never were,” Tony shook his head. “You always did your best and I really should have acknowledged it more. Give me a second chance?”
“Of course.”
Tony smiled, getting up and planting a gentle kiss to your forehead.
Everything in life was so much better after all that. Tony treated you and Ethan equally, same goes for Peter. The other Avengers were nicer, not the kind of nice that was almost fake, but it was genuine. All of them were. And you were thankful.

Welcome Back
*College age Peter Parker and Stark Reader-- 1.7K Words*
*Where Peter and Tony Stark's daughter meet up again at her welcome back party, and escape from the boring atmosphere*
"You know we're having a welcome home party for you tonight," Tony said as he leaned against your door frame. "Dad, you really don't have to. I mean it's not necessary." You replied and continued to put your stuff away in their proper locations. Tony scoffed, "You got straight As, and I never got a call from a hospital on your twenty-first birthday. You deserve it." You chuckled and rolled your eyes, "Okay, Dad...well, then can you at least tell me who's all coming to this party?" You questioned. Tony shrugged, "The usual crowd. Parker's going to be there too." You looked up from your boxes, "I forgot about Peter, is he balancing Spider-Man and college?" You respond. Your dad nodded, "Yeah, he's doing great. You guys should catch up tonight." You gave a quick laugh. "What? You should," he got defensive. "Dad, he never talked to me for more than ten minutes when I used to see him almost on a daily." You said then added, "I mean it's not like neither of us tried to talk to each other, it just never worked out like someone," you glanced up at Tony, "wants us to." He sighed and rolled his eyes. "I'm sorry that I want the two age appropriate people to be friends." You chuckled back at his remark. He looked around the room again, "Alright, well, I'll leave you to unpacking and see you later." You nodded and waved him away.
You sighed at the memories of Peter that filled your head. "Peter Parker, the son my dad never had, and apparently wants me to be just friends with," you spoke to yourself. You blew a raspberry and continued to unpack all of your belongings in your room.
***
You knew your father's welcome back parties. They were fancy, well most of your dad's party were. These party just had more of a focus on you; thus, you had to look nicer than the other parties.
Hair curled, make-up finished, you began to dress for your night. You saved the tight, off-shoulder maroon dress for a special occasion like this. You took a deep breath as you looked in the mirror one last time. "Alright, let's smile for the crowd." You told yourself and practiced your glamorous party smile for when your supposed to walk down the steps for everyone to look at you. It was the most main character action you have done ever since your sixteenth birthday party. Yes, sometimes it was unnecessary, but you did it all for your dad.
You repeated the same action you have years for now, never any less anxiety feeling with everyone's eyes on you after Tony announced your presence. However, you managed to do it all with grace. You waved to the adoring crowd with your royal wave and managed to walk down the steps in your high heels without effort. Your eyes kept meeting Peter Parker's along the way. It felt different than your first time when he came to one of your celebrations. He didn't quickly look away shyly, he kept looking at you this time. You tried to keep your eyes moving around the group of people while only having a few more steps to go, even though it felt like an eternity.
When you reach the floor, you took an invisible sigh of relief. Everyone seemed to form into their groups and continue conversing again. Your eyes caught Steve standing by himself at the bar. You shyly smiled and walked over to him. "You need to stop getting older," he smiled and hugged you. Steve always reflected on how much you grown physically and mentally from the time he has known you. It was comforting. Conversation was light. You knew most of them would be tonight with you, but you didn't mind. That's how your night mostly went. Walking around, or people walking up to you and talking. The conversations were incredibly repetitive. Apparently, when your in college there are three things people want to know: what you want to be after you graduate, where you want to move to, and if you are dating anyone. Boring and dull after the twenty-some time explaining.
You huffed after getting away from the pair of people you were talking to, now that you returned to the bar and made yourself a strong drink. Nat looked at you with raised eyebrows as you quickly drank it then made another one. "Having a good time, Y/n?" She questioned. You rolled your eyes, "If people could give me different questions to answer in conversation I might," you responded and took a sip of your drink. You noticed Tony wave you over while he stood by another group of people. You nodded and made your way over there. You were tempted to lie to away from the group. However, you didn't have to.
Peter tapped you on the shoulder. For once, you were truly delighted to see him. "Can I have a dance?" He questioned. You didn't even look at your father or anyone else in the group. "Please," You stated and started walking away with him, leaving your empty glass on a nearby surface. During the waltz, Peter talked to you, actually talked to you unlike most there. "I saw how bored you were, and I needed to save you." He stated as he led. You lightly chuckled, "Thank you for that. Are you getting the same questions too?" You responded. "Most likely," he said. You both joked about how dull the parties could become, and how really neither of you partied while you were in school. The two of you caught up and really got to know one another in the process.
At some point you caught the pair of you laughing as you never have before. You then gave him a curious look. "Peter," he raised his eyes as a response with anticipation for your words, "why have we never talked like this before," you lightly chuckled during the questioned. He shook his head, "I have no idea," he also laughed. It caught the attention of many others in the room. You looked around the room. "Looks like we're the life of the party," you smirked. "Well, the party is for you," Peter casually reminded you. You groaned and put your head on his shoulder, "What if I don't want it to be though?" He continued to sway back and forth, "Little late for that." You raised your head with a huff, "Don't remind me." Then, an idea popped in your head. You looked around the room and saw the attention diffused from the two of you.
"What do you say we get out of here," you questioned with excitement. He gave you an inquisitive look, "I don't think you can leave your own party." You shook your head, "Trust me, I've done it before. We just leave for about an hour and get away from all the noise." You reassured him. He agreed you and allowed you to lead him to a secret escape you had used for years now that led to the quiet upstairs.
You giggled as you led him in your room. "I can't believe I'm doing this, I mean Peter Parker is in my bedroom." You laughed and sat on the bed. "Not like I haven't been in here before, Y/n," he simply said, a little more sober than you. You scoffed, "Yeah, with my dad's permission you have, but you don't tonight." You watched him closely observe the details of your bedrooms. "You've changed," you pointed out. His head turned towards you, "W-what do you mean?" His voice in slight shock. You stood up next to him, very close, actually closer than the two of you when you were dancing. Your noses were almost touching.
"You're different," you stated and played with the end of his tie. "You're not that nervous and jittery kid that used to look away from me when we made eye contact." You explained. "Yeah, I guess I have," he exhaled. "Have I?" You looked up at him. "I-I mean, I guess, yeah," he cleared his throat and his cheeks changed to a tint of pink. "In a good way?" You softly spoke. Peter quickly nodded, "Y-yeah, I-I say so, Y/n. We've both grown up." You softly chuckled at his response. "Grown up," you repeated on an exhale, "I'd hate to do that. I want to stay just like this, you know what I mean?" You questioned. "I-I guess," he responded and placed his forehead on yours. "Be like Peter Pan," you breathed, "stay young forever with others that want to do the same." You softly kissed Peter at the end of your breathy sentence. His lips were soft. You melted into him, draping your arms around his neck to prevent you from falling. His arms wrapped around your waist. Both of your lips continued to unite together as did the rest of your bodies get closer.
"Eh-hem," Tony loudly cleared his throat to end the kiss. You drew away with a deep breath. The lovely moment taken away from your father. "Some guests want to see the guest of honor," Tony stated in stern tone. You looked into eyes, almost forgetting what he was talking about, "Um-yes, I'll -yeah- go down right away." You struggled to form the sentence before scattering back down the stairs. Tony gave Peter a questioning look, "Do I want to know to ask what happened?" He crossed his arms. Peter flattened his lips and shook his head. "Remember, Y/n is my daughter. So if she breaks, I break you." Tony stated. Peter nodded, continuing not to make eye contact. "So just don't break her," he said in more of a casual tone and uncrossed his arms. Peter looked up him with curiosity and confusion. "No, I'm not forbidding anything," Tony said with a light scoff. "I've just been waiting for it to happen." He added with a hint of a smile. Peter nervously smiled. "Just don't mess this up," Tony stated before walking back to the party, leaving Peter in shock from all of the events. "I just kissed Y/n Stark!"

Nothing For Me
Part 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Main Masterlist
Part 1|Part 3
2012
     You were turning 11 this year. Natasha, as you learned she went by, was always a phone call away if you ever wanted to talk--since your sperm donor was obviously no help. You had recently had to call her due to your period starting, which you weren’t expecting to happen for at least another 2 to 3 years. Needless to say, it freaked you out and regardless of your smarts, nothing could have prepared you for that.
     Nat took you shopping for what she called, ‘lady items’; bras, pads, tampons, anything a girl could possibly need. She also taught you how to shave if you ever wanted to. She specified that you should never feel forced to do it because ‘people need to normalize women having body hair. It grows there for a reason.’ And you totally agreed with her on that by the way.
     There were a few times when she’d let you in on minor S.H.I.E.L.D secrets even though it was quite unnecessary seeing as you could hack your way through it all no problem. That’s how you found out about the Avengers Initiative. You couldn’t agree more with what was said about Tony.
     Through your hacking and research of the initiative, you ‘met’ Clint. It was through a video call. He had invaded your girl-talk with Natasha. The three of you were practically best buds now. You’d go to Nat for advice or just when you needed a sister to talk to. You’d go to Clint when you just wanted to let loose and talk about absolute nonsense.
-
     It was another lovely night in Stark Tower for you--please note the sarcasm. You were bored out of your mind. Natasha had been on an undercover mission and Clint was busy at the base; something about the Tesseract. You thought they should’ve just left the thing alone; let fate take its course. Some bad things were going to come with them messing with something they had no knowledge about. They’re joining a game without knowing any rules and are pretty much destined to lose. But, hey. What did you know?
     Pepper and Tony were probably in the common area, sucking each other's faces off. Despite how much you disliked Tony, based on your experiences, you couldn’t deny the fact that they’re pining was absolutely annoying, disgusting, and cute all at the same time. You were just glad it was over honestly.
     Pepper was an okay person to you. There was nothing you found super nice or mean about her that was prominent to you. She’d greet you on the quite rare occasion the two of you would cross paths and would start the casual small talk (“how are you?” “I’m fine, what about you” “Good, thanks for asking.”). She probably thought you were a live-in intern or something like that. With how much she tries to doctor Tony’s life, you’d think she would try to fix whatever nonexistent relationship between the pair of you, but nope. That just added to your intern theory.
     You were reading a book on quantum physics, when your personal AI, M.I.A(miraculous intelligence assistant)--that you did in fact create yourself--notified you that someone had overridden Stark’s systems and gotten into the elevator. Just because you didn’t leave the room doesn’t mean you weren’t nosy.
     “Who is it, M?”
     “Agent Phil Coulson, from S.H.I.E.L.D.,” M.I.A. spoke in her smooth voice. “Would you like to listen in on what they are saying?”
     “Is that even a question?”
     Jumping out of your beanbag, you went to the center of your room, where M.I.A had pulled up footage of what was happening in the common room.
     “Security breach,” Tony turns to Pepper. “That’s on you.”
     “Mr. Stark.”
     “Phil! Come in,” Pepper greeted. Since when were she and Agent Coulson on a first-name basis. You’d have to look into that.
     “Phil? Uh, his first name is Agent.”
     “Come on in, we’re celebrating,” the red head invites. This was getting more interesting to you by the second!
     “I can’t stay.”
     “Which is why he can’t stay.”
     Phil ignores Tony and starts to hand him a file.
     “He doesn’t like being handed things,” you muttered.
     “I don't like being handed things.” Called it.
     “That’s alright, ‘cause I love being handed things, So, let’s trade,” Pepper says. She hands Coulson her glass of champagne, takes the file, hands Tony the file, in return taking his drink.
     “Official consulting hours are between eight and five every other Thursday,” the billionaire said.
     It was quite obvious Phil was over his jokes and that he was here for a much important matter.
     “Is this about the Avengers? Which I...I know nothing about.”
     Both men ignored Pepper. “The Avengers Initiative was scrapped, I thought. And I didn’t even qualify.”
    That was a nice day. Finding out what they said about Tony had been nothing less than amusing in your opinion.
     “I didn’t know that either,” the CEO said. She sure does have the best cover-ups, doesn’t she?
     “Yeah, apparently I’m volatile, self-obsessed, don’t play well with others.”
     “That I did know.”
     This whole thing was odd to you. Why were they trying to put together the Avengers when the whole idea was tossed?
     “M, pull up the most recent S.H.I.E.L.D files on the tesseract and the Avengers Initiative.”
     The AI did as told, and you scrolled through all of them. You saw things on Thor, Clint, Natasha, Bruce Banner, Steve Rogers, and lastly your sperm donor. Looking at Thor’s file, you found something about his brother Loki. And looking at his name, you saw his connections to the tesseract and everything had clicked. Loki had the thing and was definitely going to do something evil with it.
-
     Both adults in the house were gone. Such responsible ones they are. Tony left earlier the next day and you honestly couldn’t remember when Pepper left. Now, here you were in your safe haven, trying to figure out what in the world Loki would want with the tesseract. There’s probably no way for you to figure it out since you weren’t where all the info was, actively investigating. But what you didn’t understand is why would they leave you here when such a threat was hanging in the air.
     You knew Tony didn’t necessarily care for you, but he couldn’t forget about you, right? Natasha wouldn’t forget about you. Clint wouldn’t forget you. Right?
-
     It’s been two days. Two fucking days, and no one had come in or out of this building.
     You were currently pacing in your room, while your AI--not even a fucking person--was trying to comfort you.
     “Does no one answer their fucking phone anymore?”
     “I’m pretty sure there is a reasonable explanation as to why no one is answering.”
     Out of nowhere, you heard commotion from outside. Rushing over to the window and moving the curtains, you saw these alien things coming out of the sky. You ran out of your room and made your way to the nearest set of stairs as quickly as you could.
     “Ah, the little Stark.”
     His voice sent chills up your spine. It was deep and quite terrifying.
     “Come over, no need to be scared.”
     You followed his orders, having a feeling that if you didn’t things would end up ten times worse for you. He looked at you before basically yeeting you out of the window. It hurt; it felt like every bone in your body screamed for peace and anything in the background just became white noise.
     You landed on the roof, writhing in pain and groaning. Everything hurt.
     Attempting to get up was hard and painful, but you knew that you had to leave or you’d die.
     Looking up, you see that doctor. He was mentioned in the files but everything was just so fuzzy, you couldn’t remember properly. Finally being able to get up after numerous attempts, you limp your way down the stairs and out to the streets in the middle of all the chaos.
     You were so scared. You knew you probably wouldn’t be able to contact Nat or Clint unless you somehow hacked into their coms system. You continued to walk down the streets, hoping to find some type of shelter, but it felt like you were about to collapse at any second. Sitting down in the nearest alley, you looked around. Looking left, there was a face right in front of yours.
     “Fuck! What the hell man?”
     The other person wasn’t fazed. Looking them over, you saw their frizzy, somewhat curly hair pulled back in a low ponytail. Her brown skin was covered in dirt and a little blood.
     “Hey, you’re (y/n) Stark, right?” She asked a little breathlessly.
     “I refuse to be acknowledged as such.”
     “I’m Michelle. But don't call me that or I’ll have to hurt you.”
     “Are you really trying to converse with me in the middle of an alien invasion? And acting like we’re both not hurt?”
     Michelle shrugs her shoulders when you both look over due to some yelling that you heard.
     “MJ! Michelle where are you? Michelle Jones!”
     MJ looks back over and starts to get up but she trips and falls. You decide to help her up and take her over to the people calling her name. You both struggle but eventually get over to the adults with some time.
     Before you could get away from the Jones family, the mother gripped your shoulder.
     “C’mon, stay with us. We’ll find somewhere to lay low.“
     You were too tired and in too much pain to argue, so you let Michelle’s mother help you keep your balance while the young girl’s father did the same for her.
     It was at least a good ten minutes until the four of you found a decent place to take a break. It looked like a gas station, but you really couldn’t tell due to how much damage there was. You and the Jones’ took cover behind a somewhat stable looking wall and tried to stay as quiet as possible.
     It was quiet besides the distant screams of people and the yells of the aliens. You wondered if Nat and Clint were okay. You wondered if Tony was okay. You wondered if anyone was safe from this. This seemed like something no one could recover from.
     “What’s your name, sweetheart?” The older woman asked.
     “(Y/n).”
     “Where are your parents?”
     “My sperm donor is fighting I guess.”
     To say the adults were appalled by your bluntness  was an understatement. You’ve had a potty mouth for quite a while. There was no one to really correct you on what to and not to say--not that you really needed help with that being a genius and all; well a genius with common sense because your father didn’t have any of that. Without anyone to really monitor what you did,  you kind of just roamed free in a sense.
     The fight had died down eventually. The aliens were still coming, but a substantial amount of them had been killed. How a group of 6 people/gods/supersoldiers/or whatever amazed you. Maybe you could work behind the scenes one day; even though you already do. Just without anyone knowing.
     Before you knew it, there was a nuke flying across the sky. ‘Leave it to the government to find an excuse to hurt civilians,’ you thought. But before it could hit anything, you saw a red and gold figure carry it to the portal.
     You knew who it was. He was going to sacrifice himself for the safety of these people. If he didn’t make it, you would miss him even though there wouldn’t be much to miss. When that portal closed, your heart dropped to your stomach. You would never be able to make amends with him. You would never have a single conversation with him. Yeah he was a total douche bag for forgetting all about you, but you had at least expected to be able to see and maybe talk to him. Sort things out.
     Without thinking, you ran as fast as you could towards where the newly assembled Avengers were; well at least where you last saw them. You ignored the calls of the Jones family, telling you to come back. Their protests telling you not to go so you can stay safe. You ignored the pain. The aching of your ribs. The dull throbbing in your head and on your lips. There was no doubt that your steps were uneven; limping down the street at your speed probably made you look like a crackhead.
     You kept running; not stopping. Not when your breaths got shorter and turned into wheezes. Not when you heard rattling in your chest. Not when you felt like you were going to collapse. Not when your joints popped and begged for rest. You didn’t stop. You couldn’t. Not until you found someone; anyone you knew.
     You stopped after what felt like hours. It most likely was considering the sun was going down. You heard a little commotion inside a surprisingly intact building which turned out to be a Shawarma. Tony always talked about this place for some reason.
     When you looked inside, the Avengers were there. At least, you guessed they were still called that. But that didn’t matter. They were relaxing after the battle. They looked quite relaxed considering they had just fought aliens.
     But that was what kind of hurt. They weren’t worried about you. At all. Of course only 3--well not really 3. Only two really knew you and knew you were in that tower when the attack happened. Sure you weren’t expecting Clint or Nat to be running around the streets of this huge city, but a little effort or at least the thought of it would’ve been nice. You could’ve been dead and they sure as hell didn’t seem super worried about it. Maybe you were overthinking it. Or maybe you were just as forgettable and insignificant as you thought.
-
     You limped away from the establishment, trying to find somewhere to stay seeing as your home--if you could even call it that--was most likely destroyed. And you were in your feelings and nothing was a better cure than isolating yourself even more. You also wanted to see if you could get M.I.A running on a computer or something. Maybe update yourself on what was going on over the world at the moment. Or look up your frizzy-haired friend you met while you were running for your life.
     You managed to find a computer near a dumpster. You leaned back against the wall and slid down slowly, not wanting to aggravate your injuries too much. You were able to get M.I.A running on the laptop and then looked up any news. The headlines were crazy. All you saw was the fight that just happened and the death count rising and rising…
     You didn’t want to be focused on anything dealing with your father, S.H.I.E.L.D., or any current events, so you decided to give M.I.A. the task of figuring out who Michelle and her family was. It sounded very creepy, but you were her age. What harm could you do with her info. Well you could cause harm to her and her family with any info you found but that was besides the point. The most you were going to do was send them a message or something like that.
-
     You ended up sleeping in that alley. Deciding that you should head back to your place of residence, you got up and started walking back much to the process of your bones and joints. The tower seemed like it was so far away. Especially with your injuries and supposedly no one around to tend to them.  After what felt like hours, you made it to the entrance of the establishment and, surprise surprise, it’s already being rebuilt. You honestly didn’t know what time it was. You just wanted to get in your bed and sleep forever.
-
     It had been about a month since the Battle of New York. Your injuries weren’t treated until about a week after the fact. Not because someone noticed you were hurt, but because it was getting hard to breathe and that didn’t seem like a fun way to go to you.
     You’d been healing nicely so far, but your emotions and mental health were on the opposite side of the spectrum. Every time you close your eyes, you had this dream, vision, whatever it was, that when Loki threw you out the window, there was no balcony or landing area to stop on. You just kept falling, and falling until you hit the ground. Then you woke up.
      You had been isolating yourself as well. There had been plenty of missed calls from the pair, but you just couldn’t find the energy to move and pick up the phone. They were probably just doing it out of obligation anyway.
       Seeing everyone, especially Nat and Clint, just made you rethink anything you’ve ever done. Were you too clingy when it came to Natasha? Did she really like you or did she just feel bad? You were probably just overreacting, but you can’t help but think these thoughts.
    Everything was just spiraling out of control for you. And you couldn’t get help; well you at least felt like you couldn’t. If you told Tony--not that you would, but hypothetically-- he’d probably wave you off and laugh. If you tried to get a therapist, someone would probably leak that shit to the press; confidentiality be damned.
     You felt like you were drowning and you didn’t know how much longer it would be until you fully sank.

TPN - “Dreams Come True”
What better way to cheer up the TPN fandom after the second season’s final episode than with the special exhibition chapter finally being fully translated. I caught glimpses of a few pages here and there over the past couple months but seeing all the children live happily together in the human world in their own little village that they made close to Emma and Alex warms my heart. Of course I would’ve loved if we got to see more of the GP Resistance (because the anime denied us of them) but following the GF kids around the world as they experience their dreams is fair enough. We started the series alongside them so might as well finish strong with them too. I really loved seeing everyone grow up but no matter how old they get or how much time passes, I’ll probably never get used to seeing Emma without her iconic “63194.” It’s a bittersweet feeling for me, but her smiles bring me so much joy and I’m beyond happy that she accepted everyone into her life as they accepted her without her memories.
Tumblr media
I haven’t a clue on how much time passed since everyone found Emma in ch181 to now, but seeing her call out everyone’s names is a little detail that I love so much considering she had no idea who anyone was at first. Trying to remember 60+ names doesn’t seem like an easy task to me. No doubt I was just as shocked as our girl upon learning these mere children bought a goddamn plane! We learn in a couple pages that it’s because of Norman’s company that they can afford it, but still, he’s like 15 or 16 now? He’s still a child! And I’m impressed! Not only at him, but that Oliver and Violet became pilots as well! It’s especially cute when you remember that Lucas gave Oliver a little toy plane during their time at Goldy Pond.
Tumblr media
Speaking of GP, is it just me or does Emma’s current outfit resemble her GP one just a little bit? Sure we have no idea what color scheme this one has but come on, the short jacket, the dark shirt and jeans.. just imagine it! Jemima, Yvette, Alicia and Mark remade Gillian’s original GP outfit sometime before the Grace Field Raid arc (ch137 extra page) so I don’t doubt they could’ve done the same for Emma. Of course that’s just me being completely hopeful and missing the Goldy Pond arc to death but yeah! I’m also so happy to see Chris up and moving again! Seeing him wake up briefly in ch181 was nice but this is so much better. I imagine he and Emma have a lot to catch up on in terms of stories, with him being unconscious since ch105 and Emma not remembering anything.
Tumblr media
But here we go, the original 15 escapees plus Norman, Phil, Sherry, I believe I saw Carol somewhere and a couple other random kiddos ready to see the entire world. They get to accomplish so much.. and in a single day too I believe? At least that’s what Phil and Alicia say a bit later about everyone’s wishes, but aahh what a lucky bunch. Hell, I’ll say we’re lucky readers too to be able to see such a great story. Can’t thank Shirai and Demizu enough y’all. I wish we got to see more of Alex though. He’s such a kind soul but I’m sure he’ll be just fine staying behind with everyone else.
Tumblr media
This entire page where we learn about Norman as a CEO is gold. I still can’t believe this child successfully built up an entire multipurpose company not only to help their search for Emma but also because he didn’t want to live off the Ratri clan. I wish I knew about this last week when writing out Norman’s birthday post because hell yeah this deserves some praise! AND he managed to graduate school as well during all that! Well, by skipping grades which totally makes sense. I mean, if he managed to pass all the Grace Field and Lambda tests effortlessly I’m sure normal human world school was a piece of cake for him. Holy shit dude, keep on impressing me why don’t ya. Not only him but Nigel and Sonya too! I’m not surprised that Vincent helped out but I’m glad those two got a tiny moment to shine as well! Ray is another obvious choice when it comes to helping Norman, as they’re best friends and he’s always been good with machines.. but boy, I can’t take you seriously when you’re just sitting there unamused and eating chips! Hahah I love him so much! And the fact he replies to Norman’s idea with just a simple “kay” is an eternal mood.
Tumblr media
Okay boys aside, can we talk about our fabulous girls now? Because oh my god, they’re so darn beautiful! They’re more fashionable than I’ll ever be and it’s so cute how they drag Emma along to take advantage of the 3-for-1 deal. But our girl pulls off that sporty look so well! (r.i.p. goldy pond outfit ver2.0). I’m not at all surprised that Nat wanted to go see the opera. That's perfect for him and I’d like to think the anime did something similar with that one shot we see of him in the human world. We don’t see him in a theater like this but to me it looks like he’s on the streets of Broadway? At least that’s the vibe I get from it. I’m sure there was something music related on one of those signs.
Tumblr media
I can’t get over how adorable all the children look and how happy they are fulfilling their wishes, even if some of them aren’t as extravagant as others. Like eating a fluffy pancake and a ton of ice cream? We can do that whenever we want. But for these kids, it means everything and they absolutely deserve to experience such simple joys like that after all the harsh nonsense they’ve been through. I also love how Ray continues to be such a great older brother by still looking out for them too. The fact he remains completely unfazed by the haunted house is perfect. This boy has been haunted by his own nightmares and demons his entire life, there’s no way a couple of lousy jump scares are gonna spook him. Though I do find it funny that Alicia and Rossi still manage to get scared while Yvette is having the time of her life. I can’t help but laugh at Thoma’s “Shirai face” as well.
Tumblr media
I find it interesting that out of all the different kinds of exhibits they could’ve shown us while Rossi visits a museum, they give us dinosaurs.. like that seems so silly to me. Y’all have seen several demons in your young lives already and yet dinosaurs manage to amaze you too? God these kids are precious. And then our boy Phil finally gets to see and ride a train! Just look how happy he is! The poor kid can’t even sit still he’s so darn excited and I can’t help but smile with him! Thankfully the anime showed us this too.
Tumblr media
We eventually get to Ray’s wish and guys.. oh my fucking god. Tell me that this is not the absolute best and prettiest smile we get to see from him!! It honestly leaves me speechless okay? Ray never imagined he would ever get to see the outside world, let alone live past the age of 12, and yet here he is, seeing such a beautiful sight such as this, right in front of him instead of from inside a book. You can’t believe how happy and proud of him I am right now. Did you see how ecstatic I was when the anime kept Isabella alive? Multiply that feeling by ten and there ya go. That’s my level of happiness upon seeing my favorite boy smile like THAT! AAHHH!! That panel is gonna live rent free in my head until the end of time. I can’t get over how damn perfect it is. His smile is so pure and how he looks like he’s in complete awe is beautiful. He’s about to burst into tears and I swear I might do the same because I’m making myself emotional over this fantastic boy. Someone hold me.
Tumblr media
No seriously, hold me because we’re about to get into some angst as we move onto to Emma’s wish. We all know that ever since 2039 her one dream was to ride a giraffe once they got outside, so here we are, about ten years later and the animals in question are within reach. Our girl should be totally excited, right? Ha, not quite.
Tumblr media
That wish was something the old Emma wanted, but since demon god had to be such a bastard, this Emma doesn’t know what to think, let alone what to even feel. She hasn’t experienced the same hardships as her family. She hasn’t gone through hell and back while holding onto that one wish that would make all the suffering worth it. The amount of joy everyone else felt upon living out their dreams, she wonders if she would be able to feel it too.
Tumblr media
They brought her here to make her happy, but is this truly want she wants as well? This is old Emma’s wish after all. What about her and what she wants? Could this wish make her just as happy as her old self? She knows her family is only trying to help, but seeing her doubt herself does a number on my heart. Even without her memories, she’s still the same Emma deep down, as she doesn’t want to disappoint her family. She spends so much time worrying about living up to her family’s expectations, to try and be that Emma they all love so dearly.
Tumblr media
Little does she know that she acts the exact same as usual, almost as if nothing has changed when she finally expresses how much she wants to ride a giraffe. And that’s great considering when they first arrived at the giraffes, no on had even mentioned riding them. She came across that feeling all on her own and everyone else can’t help but laugh and feel relieved. Her mind may have forgotten but her heart remembers everything. There is no “old Emma” and “new Emma” to her family, just “Emma” and words can’t express how wholesome that is because they love her regardless. All that matters to them is Emma’s happiness because if anyone deserves to feel and experience that, it’s her.
Tumblr media
I just made myself tear up, damn it. I started this series with season one okay? I heard about this precious girl’s dream within the first minute of the first episode and here I am, a little bit over two years later, finally reading about it coming true and seeing that bright as hell smile on her face. Do you know how amazing it is to come full circle like that? My heart feels so full right now. I’m beyond proud of her and love her to death. Say what you want but I believe this to be the true manga ending in my eyes.
Tumblr media
(damn this series for always getting me emotional)

All the things you went through could not be compared to the last battle of your life, the one where to save an entire world, numerous people you deeply loved had gradually lost theirs.
It was a terrifying feeling, observing the bright light in their eyes fade away while their eyelids drooped until there was no more energy to keep them open. The guttural voices were stuck in your head as their mouths opened and closed several times. The way they attempted to swallow, believing that the action would let them say their last words. Some got to announce their latest wishes or goodbyes, others weren't so fortunate, gagging on their blood.
Everyone knew that this last war would bring grief, guilt and trauma. And even though everyone knew that some people would inevitably be left behind, they also deeply hoped for them to survive. But perhaps, it was too much to ask for the universe or whoever was up there.
Natasha Romanoff, also known as Black Widow. She was probably one of those people you couldn't help but end up loving like an older sister. She tried to maintain that witty, cold facade to avoid people from deceiving her. Nevertheless, you always thought that she didn't need to maintain an image. Everyone knew how great Natasha Romanoff was.
Deep inside, every one of the Avengers knew that they would lose her. Nat had been a woman with a tough childhood and life. She was someone who believed and claimed not to have a family. Of course, all of this, before she became part of the Avengers. A group of people who would have given their lives for her. However, she was the one who gave up her life.
You sometimes glimpsed at Clint when he was in the compound, staring at the space Nathasa always preferred. It was her seat, her place. An empty one.
You had cried. You had mourned when Clint had come back, swearing he had tried to save her. You knew he had. Everyone knew. But they also knew how Natasha's mind worked. They knew she would sacrifice herself for Clint, one of the closest Avengers to her, and the one who had a wife and children waiting at home.
Notwithstanding, there was a big pain in your heart. You hoped that she felt loved, that she knew that every one of the Avengers had lost a piece of soul and brightness as soon as they understood she was never coming back.
That night, it was Steve Rogers who held you tightly even if his heart was as broken as yours, or even more. His fingers had intertwined with the locks of your hair as he shushed you while his body rocked your own one. If only that was the only sadness you would have to go through.
Not long after Natasha passed away, Tony Stark had sacrificed his life for those he loved. At that time, everything was over. The war with Thanos was over. But, another war invaded everyone. The internal war of dealing with the death of Tony Stark.
How unfair, right? The joker, the one who always tried his best to cheer others up even if it was with sarcastic comments. The one who seemed the brightest was leaving certain darkness in everyone's hearts.
You never expected to see Tony sitting down against ruins as he tried to say his last words to the woman of his life. God, Morgan was just a child and she was back home, of course. Pepper would have to tell the little girl that her dad wouldn't be coming back. Ever.
Tony fought, he fought to stay in this world for a couple of minutes more. He had expressed his everlasting love to Pepper, telling her to remind Morgan of how much he loved her and how she was his salvation. Tony had hugged Peter, repeating over and over again that he believed in him. He was proud of the teenager. Parker would just cry while nodding his head. And then, Tony peeped at you. He wanted to offer you a smile, but the pain was too much for that. The Tony Stark legacy was yours too, and he had pleaded for you to teach Morgan everything you knew. Everything he had taught you.
And as soon as the last flick of life left his eyes, everyone was kneeling on the ground. Steve was beside you, clutching your hand tightly as you sobbed.
Tony Stark was the one who rescued you a couple of years ago. You were someone lost in life. Too young to have all of those horrible thoughts invading your mind. He had just decided to take you in and show you all the potential you had. That's when you started working alongside Tony and Bruce, after learning everything from them.
Before his funeral, you sat next to Pepper and Morgan as Tony had prepared a hologram. You had chuckled because Tony had to leave in a big way.
He looked so real. He looked as if he was sitting down on that chair. And sometimes, it seemed like he could actually look at all of you. Of course, all of this was just what it looked like.
"Then again, that's the hero gig, right?" His eyes seemed to shift from Pepper to you. "Part of the journey is the end." You felt Morgan getting closer to your body. "What am I even tripping for?" Your hand softly rested on her back as Tony got up from his seat. "Everything is gonna work out," He was standing in front of the three of you. "Exactly like it's supposed to." His eyes seemed to find the ones of the little girl. "I love you 3,000." Then, he just vanished, once again.
The day of the funeral was horrible, everyone cried because Tony Stark was deeply loved. Because everything that happened was proof that Tony Stark had a heart.
However, if we talked about the present, your heart ached as much as your legs. Your heart throbbed because Steve had left a letter on your door, letting you know that he was going to return the stones to the same moment where he got them. Steve was leaving. Perhaps not to come back.
And your legs ached because you were running to the only place where you knew he could be right now. In the distance, you could recognise Bruce, Sam and Bucky. The Captain was getting on the platform, his suit changing from the usual one to red and white. "Steve!" You continued running, not thinking you will arrive on time. Steve made a gesture, begging Bruce to continue with the process. "Steve! Please!" Tears started running down your cheeks.
"Going Quantum," Bruce informed. "Three,"
"Steve, I swear to god I will kill you!" You tried to run faster, but your legs gave up as you fell to the ground. "Steve Rogers, I swear to god!" You screamed once again, getting up and ignoring the mud stuck to your cheeks due to your tears.
"Two..." Sam and Bucky looked between the both of you. The Falcon was pained to see you in that situation as much as Bucky. Both of them were your friends. And both of them had noticed the longing gazes you directed towards their other friend.
"STEVE!" You were now closer to Bruce, quickly stopping the machine. "Don't you dare to turn it on." Your finger accusingly pointed at Banner, who nodded, a little frightened of how angry you were.
"Y/N," A firm voice sounded. "I need to get back and put these stones where they bel-."
"Who are you trying to lie to?" Your voice cracked. "You are going back to the past and you will not return." You shook your head. "And that's not fair on Sam because he had started to like you and he considers you his friend now, right?" I glanced at Sam, who bit his lower lip and nodded. "That's not fair on Bucky! He has always been there for you and you are just going to leave him? You can't just leave him, Steve!" Bucky sighed, glancing at the floor. "We just lost a lot of people we profoundly loved. It is unfair that you make us go through that once again because-."
"Breathe." He interrupted me. "This isn't my place anymore."
You yelled, trying to get rid of some of the anger invading your body. "You, Steve Rogers, are the biggest liar ever!" He furrowed his eyebrows, sighing and letting you go on. "You gotta move on," You repeated those words. The words he had told a group of people who were trying to get through the losses of the blip. "You gotta move on. The world is in our hands. It's left to us, guys. And we gotta do something with it." You were now sobbing harder. "O-otherwise..."
"I'm sorry," He whispered. "But, this life is no longer for me, Y/N." He glanced at Bruce, then back at you. "I wish I didn't have to do this."
"Nothing is making you go back!" You cried. "You can return the stones then come back to us and-." You gasped. "Steve, I know I'm selfish for saying this but please, don't go back to her-."
"Y/N," His voice was firmer this time. "I have nothing to do here, okay? Believe me. Yes, I will have to leave you all, but that's a price I must pay. You knew I always felt like this was not my world. Everything was always too strange for me." He sighed. "Don't get me wrong, I love you all. Especially, you. I love you. But I'm not the one you deserve." Tears fell down his cheeks. "Take care."
Before you could say anything more, he disappeared. You glanced at Bruce, glaring at him for listening to Steve and then, you got on the platform, screaming with all your strength. "That's for me to decide, Steve Rogers! That's for me to decide!" You recovered as soon as possible, running towards Bruce after noticing that Steve wasn't back yet. "Bring him! Bring him back!" Bucky walked closer to you, resting a hand on your shoulder as you continued crying. "How long until he comes back?"
Sam glanced at the other two men, sighing. "He isn't coming back." He coughed. His voice cracking. "Steve isn't coming back."
"He believes he isn't apt for this world." Before you could answer, Bucky interrupted you. "I know, it sounds stupid. But he truly felt like that." He shuffled closer to you. "He didn't go back to Peggy. Believe me."
"Then why?"
"Because he believed he wasn't enough for you." Sam stepped forward. "We tried to let him know that he was. But he said that he was never able to be there for you as much as he wanted to." He was always there. "He went back to safety. To the world, he knew. A world without," He glanced around. "All of this."
"A world without me." There was no reason to justify his actions, even if you wanted to. "So... this is all that's left."
"Not all." Bucky placed a tiny box on your hand. "He would probably kill me if he knew I gave you this. But I think you deserve to know. You deserve to...just...open it."
A ring. There was a ring with both of your names. A wedding ring.

Nat hi!!! Prompts!!!
How about repair for Obi and soka?? 💕
yes of course! // from these prompts
(also sorry this took so long, my bad)
repair - being confined to bed due to injury or illness and hating every second of it.
~~~
"Ahsoka, it’s time for medicine."
"No," Ahsoka said, crossing her arms with an indignant huff. "It's gross. Don't want it."
"Ahsoka,” Obi-Wan warned. “You need to take your medicine if you want to get better."
Ahsoka huffed again, turning her head to face the blank wall.
Normally, Ahsoka wouldn't be one to put on such a display of petulance for her Grandmaster. But for the last two days she had been stuck in bed suffering from a case of bronchitis which had not so fortunately developed after her latest mission to a dingy jungle planet. And so she had been left feeling tired, weak, and miserable—not to mention the cough, fever, and oh so wonderful chest pain that accompanied her affliction. So right now acting 'normal' was the last thing she wanted to care about.
Obi-Wan let out an exasperated sigh before sitting down on the side of the bed—Ahsoka could tell from the way she felt the mattress dip beside her, the slight creak that came along with it. She turned to look at him.
In his hands, the older Jedi was holding a small bottle filled with brown liquid; her medicine. She had already taken it four times within the last two days since she had been assigned to bedrest on Master Che's orders—much to Ahsoka's chagrin—and each time the taste seemed to become more and more intolerable. 'Gross' would be an understatement. She would rather have one of those awful fruit-flavoured medicines than this rancid concoction.
"Come on, Ahsoka," Obi-Wan said, shooting her a sort of sympathetic smile. Of course he was being sympathetic. Ahsoka looked down at her lap, picking mindlessly at the stray threads on the seam of the mattress. You’re not the one who’s suffering here, Master Kenobi. "It will only be bad for a minute,” he continued. “You handled it last time, so I am sure you can manage it again."
Ahsoka glanced up from her lap, opening her mouth to reply—but suddenly there was an odd yet familiar sensation in her chest and in her throat. Before she knew it she had erupted into a coughing fit; holding her chest, coughing harshly into her elbow. She felt a hand on her back a moment later, moving in gentle, comforting circles.
As soon as the coughing finally eased, Obi-Wan handed her her glass of water from where it had been sitting on the nightstand and waited patiently at her side as she caught back her breath.
"Thank you," she said sheepishly, her voice grating even after taking a few sips. Obi-Wan took back her glass with a warm smile.
"It seems your body is trying to tell you to take your medicine too," he said, setting the glass down on the nightstand with a slight grin—a 'you know i'm right' type of grin. Ahsoka rolled her eyes. He was right, though wether she wanted to admit that or not was a different story.
"Fine," she mumbled, letting out a sigh of defeat. Obi-Wan breathed out a light chuckle before he lifted the bottle of medicine to check the dosage, unscrewing the cap and picking up the spoon.
"Do you want to hold the spoon, or do you want me to feed it to you like the last time?" he said. He was genuinely asking the question but there was something in his eyes; a spark of humour flared. Ahsoka narrowed her gaze.
"I'll hold it myself this time, thank you very much," she said, snatching the spoon from his offering hand. The older Jedi let out a chuckle before he held up his hands placatingly.
“By all means.”
Ahsoka watched as Obi-Wan slowly poured the medicine onto her spoon, wrinkling her nose as she eyed the rancid liquid. She really didn’t want to have to drink this again.
"Are you going to drink it?” Obi-Wan asked after a few moments, noticing that she had yet to make any move to drink the medicine. “Or are you just going to stare at it until it goes away?"
“The second option sounds nice.”
“Well, I’m afraid that would be rather fruitless, my dear.”
Ahsoka scrunched her nose and let out a huff. Fine, I’ll do it. Taking a deep breath, she lifted the spoon to her mouth and downed the brown liquid, gagging at the awful flavour and the sickly way it coated her tongue, her throat.
“Good girl,” Obi-Wan murmured, taking back the spoon only for him to pour out another spoonful of the medicine. Because one just wasn’t enough.
“One more. Here you go. You can do it, young one.”
Ahsoka let out a whine—she didn’t care that Master Kenobi was taking the brunt of her petulance, even when she knew it wasn’t directly his fault for her suffering. It was just easier to blame him since he was the one technically forcing her to drink the medicine at the moment. She grabbed the spoon and drank the rest of her medicine, but before she could gag again Obi-Wan lifted a glass of water to her lips and she drank it gratefully, though it did little to get rid of the rancid aftertaste lingering in her mouth.
As she sipped her water, around the rim of the glass Ahsoka could see Obi-Wan silently studying her. She lowered the glass to rest in her lap and Obi-Wan’s gaze stayed focused on her for another few moments before his lips curled into a sympathetic pout.
“You really aren’t enjoying yourself, are you?”
Ahsoka mimicked his pouty expression. He was right. She very much was not enjoying herself. At that, Obi-Wan shuffled a little closer and settled a hand on her back. Ahsoka relaxed into the touch.
“Is there anything I can do or get for you that might help you feel a little better?” he asked. Ahsoka breathed out a sigh—but when she felt a tickle in her chest she froze, bringing a hand up to her mouth, steeling herself for another coughing fit. She waited. False alarm.
“I just wish I wasn’t stuck in bed all day,” she mumbled, letting herself fall against her Grandmaster’s shoulder. She felt Obi-Wan tense at the action, but it was only a moment before his tensed muscles relaxed and he wrapped his arm around her shoulder, surrendering to the touch.
“Well you’re going to have to stay here until you get better, I’m afraid,” he said, his voice reverberating through her montrals. “But,” he continued, “If you would like, I could teach you how to play that variant of Sabacc I told you about.”
Ahsoka perked up. “Really?”
“Yes, really,” Obi-Wan replied. Then, quieter, “As long as you don’t tell Anakin.”
“Deal.” Ahsoka grinned. Finally, something interesting. She had previously been stuck watching cheesy romance holos with Anakin before he had to leave for the front (which he wasn’t too happy about—having to leave her behind while she was sick—though Obi-Wan had managed to reassure him that she would be fine) and he had cried at every single one of them. Ahsoka really didn’t understand what was so sad about them—they were so predictable! But apparently Anakin didn’t see it that way.
“All right. Why don’t you get yourself comfortable while I go fetch the sabacc cards from my quarters.”
While Obi-Wan left the room to find the deck of sabacc cards Ahsoka did as he said and tried to make herself comfortable, pulling her favourite blue fuzzy blanket around her shoulders and settling herself against her propped up pillows.
Shortly, Obi-Wan came back, sabacc cards in hand and plopped down on the opposite end of her bed with as much grace as a Jedi Master of his standing could muster.
Which, at the moment, didn’t seem to be a very high level of grace, now that said Jedi Master was trying failing to stifle a coughing fit after landing a little harder than he must have expected.
“Master…”
“I’m fine, Ahsoka—that was nothing.”
“It didn’t seem like nothing,” she muttered, watching as Obi-Wan sheepishly evaded her gaze as he tried yet again to stifle another feeble cough. “Master, I think you might have caught what I have.”
“No no—I’m fine.”
“Master.”
“No, I’m—”
Suddenly Obi-Wan burst into a full-fledged coughing fit, holding a fist to his mouth and a hand to his chest, pointedly turning fully away from Ahsoka. As soon as the worst of the coughing ceased, finally, Obi-Wan let out a sigh.
“I suppose you may be right,” he rasped. Ahsoka felt a pang in her chest that had nothing to do with her current infliction.
“I’m sorry.”
“No, it’s not your fault Ahsoka.”
“But you caught it from me—if I hadn’t—”
“No. This isn’t your fault, young one. If anything, it’s mine. I sent you on that mission. If you hadn’t gone, you wouldn’t have gotten sick.”
Ahsoka rolled her eyes. Of course he was trying to blame himself for this. But before she could mutter a reply, tell him that it really was her fault for making him sick, Obi-Wan reached out to feel her forehead. Ahsoka couldn’t help but lean into the touch. His skin was cool; ice for the burn of her fever. She let out a small, satisfied hum before he pulled away.
“Just checking,” he said. “Not too bad.”
Then, before Obi-Wan could move, Ahsoka quickly lifted her hand to feel his forehead. He didn’t feel too warm, though she didn’t miss the slight sag of his shoulders, the way he seemed to surrender to the touch.
“Just checking,” she said with a smirk. Obi-Wan’s look of surprise fell into that of fondness, shaking his head with a slight grin as he moved back to sit across from her.
“Well,” he said, opening the deck of sabacc cards in front of him. “Seeing as the two of us are now most likely going to be stuck here for several days, would you like me to teach you this special variant of sabacc now?”
Ahsoka nodded with a grin, pulling her fuzzy blanket even tighter around herself.
“Alright,” Obi-Wan said. “Let’s get started.”
Bloodthirsty (2)
Part two of Bloodthirsty catch up Here
Summary: More questions arise as you lie to your teams faces.
Tumblr media
____________________________________________
              Two Gods and A Vampire
The silence was beyond nerve wrecking, the team of righteous heroes sat unmoving in a judgmental stupor. You were sure their minds were working overtime trying to piece together the many chips being tossed about in the living area by a specific pain in the ass Norse god. You didn’t know what to say but you needed to figure something out, and considering you were sure everything in the compound was being recorded and monitored, it needed to be believable.
“Not that it hasn’t been explained before, but I was used as a stand-in for their mutated super soldier serum remake that was botched. I was practically dead when they took me from that village, no thanks to you,” The venom in your voice made it clear to Loki that he was to blame for leaving you there for the people that were after him. He didn’t know that it wasn’t Hydra, or that they weren’t the ones to revive you but it was close enough to the truth, you had been used by Hydra but that didn’t happen until the 60’s. The partial truth didn’t register in his mind as a lie, he felt genuinely horrible at leaving you to those pests experiments. You hoped it was enough to take the pressure off of you as you asked the team a question, trying to change the topic of conversation.
“Why is Friday offline, and what’s with the no lights? I thought I was walking into a trap or something,” you couldn’t help but wonder what the reasoning behind it was.
“Oh, point break over there “accidentally” shot out our electric box by beaming down too close to the compound. Friday is undergoing some maintenance so this doesn’t happen again,” Stark answers while glaring at Thor for his transgression. That calms your nerves a bit, they weren’t trying to trap you and they didn’t suspect anything.
Yet. Your subconscious held the nagging suspicion that sooner rather than later you were gonna be forced to show them your hand.
You’d leave without a trace before revealing yourself to them, no need to let them in on the darker avenues of the afterlife. That would be a problem for another day though. Shrugging off your leather jacket, you take your leave and head to your room to shower and relax. Not bothering to listen to the continuing conversation taking place between the team and the two gods, you start your after battle self care routine feeling less nervous now that you were away from Loki.
You didn’t know what it was about the god that had you so frazzled. He left you for dead in that small village, not bothering to at the very least bury you properly. The sword had pierced close to your heart, not directly through it, but that didn’t matter. You still bled out on the muddy path that led to the town's hermit who just happened to be a vampire. An extremely old and disciplined vampire that took pity in his cold heart for a young maiden bleeding out next to horse shit. One blood transfer later and you were waking up on a bed of furs, the icy cold venom had flooded your body leaving you frozen in time in your 23 year old body. You could barely remember the actual date but you placed your turning around the early 1800s, losing track and not bothering to care enough to write it down. Besides, the last thing you needed was to have someone snoop and find out you were older than the big bad criminal organization Hydra. Unaware of the conversation taking place across the compound, you settle into your routine.
“Are you certain about this brother? Lady Y/N may be older than she appears but you're saying she's in her 200’s,” Thor whispers to Loki in Asgardian as the team talks amongst themselves.
“240 give or take and I am certain, Thor. There’s something very different about her but I’m quite positive she is the same maiden that helped me escape those wretched trials. Time has not touched her in the slightest,” Loki whispers back in Asgardian as well, so even if one of the mortals hears them speak they won’t understand.
“Should I-,”
“Don’t say a word to Odin, we don’t know what she is for sure but even you know he would gladly collect her like his precious relics and bend her to do his bidding,” Loki cuts Thor off, the hatred for Odin seeping into his voice unwillingly. Thor only nods to convey he understands, not wanting to upset his brother further.
Loki continues after a moment of silence, ”I’ll consult someone that may have the answers we seek if I cannot produce them without help,” Thor looks confused for a moment until Loki speaks again, “I have been missing the scenery in New Orleans of late.”
As the gods continue to speak, Natasha listens very carefully while maintaining conversation with Clint about his and Kate’s escapades the other night while she was on a mission. Truthfully, she had always had a sneaking suspicion that y/n wasn’t telling the full truth about her past but that was her preference and she couldn’t fault her for that. However, if it was true what Loki was saying, the team needed to know who she was, no exemptions.
Looking at her phone while still listening to both conversations, she reserved a hotel room in New Orleans for the following day so she could see what Loki would find out. Secrets got people killed, a lesson Natasha had learned the hard way. She also knew secrets kept people safe but the situations varied. This was one of those times where she wanted to determine the outcome before it became a bigger issue, one that couldn’t be settled with a simple explanation.
“Hey Clint, mind doing me a favor?” Nat asks with a small smile. It was time she cashed in a couple of favors.
wc: 3.4k
You worked in the evenings at your coffee shop on campus during the week. Being that you went to school in a major metropolitan city, there were endless amounts of students bustling in and out of the shop daily. Day in and day out, it was pretty repetitive. The same kids, stressed, ordering a coffee and snack, and then sitting at a desk or in the upstairs attached library for hours on end, cramming or stressing about some test that was probably the following day.
But there was one part that always made your day brighter, no matter how horrible your day had been thus far.
Him.
His dark, long brown hair that looked soft to the touch, his large physique that had you melting in seconds, and his voice.
He was always kind when he spoke to you, never short or rude. He always took his time to ask you how your day was going, took the time to learn your name, and even sat with you in between customers at the counter.
Today, it was him sitting through the lunch rush, and while you whirled around the coffee machines and mugs, he watched you and made conversation while you steamed milk for the next latte that was ordered.
“So, what are your plans for the winter break? Seeing any family?” He questioned, looking down into his own mug of dark brew.
“Yeah, usually I go up to Canada to see my family there. I miss them a lot around this time of year, can’t wait to see them.” You shrugged your shoulders with a smile. “How about you, Bucky?”
Bucky hummed, wrapping a large hand around the body of the mug and pulled it up to his lips.
“Yeah, not as far as you, though. Can’t wait to see my ma and sister. Miss ‘em to death.” He matched your grin.
“Aw, how is she? Doing better now?”
You recalled one day where Bucky came into the cafe, head hung low. You immediately poured him a cup and sat with him as he talked.
“She’s doing great now, thank God. Would’ve had to take off from school to stay with her if she didn’t, and she’s still so young. No one deserves to be bound to a hospital bed when they’re a kid.” He spoke brightly, glad he could say Rebecca was out of the hospital.
“That’s amazing, Buck! Glad to hear it.” You grinned even brighter than you had before, and Bucky couldn’t help but to stare at the sparkle in your eyes.
You were a shy girl, and Bucky had initially first seen you in your sophomore art class. For you, it was a core requirement, but Bucky was taking courses aimlessly, trying to figure out what he wanted to do. He was at school on a football scholarship, and almost everyone knew him and his teammates. But as soon as he spotted you in that class, he knew he had to get to know you. It was hard at first, he’ll admit. You weren’t quite as responsive to him as he’d hoped, but over time when he would see you more often, he would make more conversation and you eventually warmed up to him.
You never knew what to do with Bucky. At first, you thought he was pranking you when he tried to talk to you. But over time, you let your guard down. You often fantasize about him and what it would be like to be with him. You fell for the side of him that was kind and caring, the soft side. Others saw the big, brawny football player, but that couldn’t be further from who he actually was.
“You know, you should come to our party tonight.”
You scoffed at that.
“And why, Bucky, would I do that?” Your tone was incredulous.
“Because, sweetheart, I want you to meet my friends?” The nickname made your heart flutter, beating wildly against your chest.
“I’ve already met Steve and Sam, and as far as I know, no one else is relevant.” You countered.
“I- Well, you’re right, but I want to have fun with you! I never see you outside of work or school.” Bucky’s eyes shone with pleading, basically begging you.
“I… Fine, maybe I’ll drop by after work…” You compromised, but Bucky’s smirk grew.
“Yes! I’ll see ya at eight, doll, but I gotta head out and help set up.” He tapped the counter and stood up from his stool, flashing you one last smile before heading out the door, the bell ringing above it.
And fuck, you couldn’t wipe that damn smile off your face.
-
Eight o’clock couldn’t roll around fast enough, and as soon you clocked out of work you practically ran to your apartment. Your roommates were out, so you picked out the best outfit you could put together in half an hour.
The walk to Bucky’s fraternity house was jittery, your hands shaking uncontrollably, and it wasn’t just because of the frigid November air.
It was exactly eight. Music was booming, you could literally feel it from the front porch. Not a minute late or early, and you were wondering why you were so nervous. Of course, it was because of Bucky, but also about the prospect of a party. You don’t go to many at all, and to go to a college party was more or less social suicide. You didn’t want to embarrass yourself, let alone in front of Bucky.
You lifted your hand to knock and after a minute or so, the door pulled open.
And that was definitely not Bucky.
“You here for the party?” The guy said, a brunet just a bit taller than you, but you could tell he was older than you.
“Uh- yeah-” You barely got out before he pulled you in by the arm.
“Great, uh, I don’t have too much time for formalities or anything, but drinks are there,” he said, pointing to the kitchen, “and if ya gotta yak, please, for the love of God, do it in a toilet.” He said, leaving you in the middle of the hallway with people stumbling around you, mumbling apologies as you bumped into countless people.
You felt like looking for Bucky was hopeless, so you stayed by the drinks for a bit, seeing if he’d come by, and after a few minutes, he turned up.
But of course, not alone.
“Y/N! You made it, I was wondering if you bailed on me!” He was basically yelling over the music.
“Oh! Yeah, I made it, I guess.” You tightly smiled, giving a fake laugh.
“Where are my manners! This is Nat, ot Natasha. We’re in the same Human Sexuality course. ‘ve known her since freshman year, can always count on her.” Bucky announced, pulling the interest of the redhead that he walked in with.
She extended her hand with a smile as you shook her hand.
She’s fucking gorgeous. Of course Bucky’s here with her. Fuck. Why did you think he would hang out with you tonight?
“So, Y/N, what’s your major?” Natasha asked you, her soft voice pulling you out of your intrusive thoughts.
“I uh, I’m an English Lit major with a minor in Cognitive Psych.” You responded, wanting to be done with this conversation. Done with this whole party, actually, at this point.
“Oh shit, that’s so cool! I’m just a boring Criminal Justice major,” she answered, taking a sip from her drink.
Suddenly, her eyes lit up, looking at you in shock.
“Buck! Get this girl a drink! She’s just been standing here empty handed!” She slapped his arm, causing him to curse.
“Fuck, Y/N, let me get you something. Any preferences?” Bucky asked, already turning to the counter.
“Uhm, not really, just no beer. Tastes like shit.” You huffed out a laugh, looking down at your hands until Bucky handed you a cup that was almost full.
“Vodka lemonade, doll, sweet enough where all you taste is the burn.” He smiled a wide smile that made you realize something. Bucky was drunk.
“Thanks, Bucky.” You smiled and took a sip. He was right, it wasn’t strong at all, but by the time you looked up, Natasha was pulling him back to the dance floor, throwing her arms around his neck and swaying to the beat. His hands almost immediately found her hips, moving at the same pace.
Somewhere deep in your chest, you felt a pang. You knew that of course, you had no claim over Bucky. But you thought that after really getting to know him that there was something between you two.
But seeing his gaze never waver from Natasha, you guess you’d thought wrong.
Setting your cup down on the counter, you felt a hand land on top of yours, and he spoke before you could.
“Hey, another rule I forgot to mention. Never leave your cup unattended. We try to keep a clean act here, but some assholes always slip through.” It was the same brunet from earlier.
“Oh… I was actually just about to go…” You mumbled.
“Leaving so early? You make me feel like a horrible host!” He yelled dramatically, placing a hand on his chest. “Oh God, you don’t even know me, do you?” He questioned.
“I… I’m sorry, I don’t.” You responded, fiddling with the hem of your shirt.
“Well, nice to meet you. I’m Tony, but I prefer ‘Greek God’ or ‘Ruler of the Universe,’ up to ya.” He smirked.
“Well, it’s nice to meet you, Tony. I’m Y/N.” You shook his hand, looking around. You just wanted to go home at this point.
“So why do you look like someone just killed your cat, Y/N?” He asked, leaning back onto the counter.
“I just… don’t really think this is my scene, I guess.” You shrugged. It was the truth, this wasn’t where you wanted to be on a Friday night. But you came for Bucky, and right now he’s dancing with a gorgeous redhead on the dance floor, while you stand in the kitchen talking to a stranger.
“I see… have you come to one of our parties before?” He asks, scanning the crowd.
“Uh, just a few with my old roommates, but not too many, but Bucky invited me…” Your words trailed off, spotting him in the crowd, head thrown back laughing at something Steve or Natasha had said.
“Ah, I see. Bucky.” Tony smirked. “You like him, don’t you?” He questioned.
“What?” You paled, “No! He’s just a friend, we’ve had a few classes together, that’s all.” Your face turned beet red as you looked down at your feet.
“Listen, Y/N, I don’t know you very well, but I can tell you’re not dumb. If you like him, tell him that. I almost waited too long to tell Pep, but now we’ve been together a whole year and I can’t imagine my life without her. What’s the worst that could happen?” Tony proclaimed, bounding away and pulling a strawberry blonde girl, who you’re assuming is ‘Pep.’
And although Tony’s word instilled an unusual wave of confidence in you, what you were met with when you turned your head towards Bucky made it disappear into thin air.
There he was, in all his long-haired, muscly glory, kissing Natasha.
Oh.
Alright.
Your mind was blank, and before you knew it you were out of the house and running back to your apartment, ignoring your roommates calling you from the couch as you held back tears.
Of course Bucky would never go for someone like you.
-
Waking up and having to go to class on Monday was a feat on its own. But going to work?
Impossible.
You had been avoiding going on campus all weekend, although you had to go in for a studio hour. But all in all, you managed to avoid Bucky. Thank God you didn’t have to work on weekends.
But alas, Monday came, and Monday meant work.
And work meant Bucky.
You took your time clocking in and pulling on your apron in the back and as you emerged, you were met with tons of customers waiting in line.
No Bucky yet.
Hm.
An hour into your shift, you’re whirling around behind the counter, completing orders, when he walked in. Bucky quietly sat himself down at the countertop and waited for you to greet him with a mug of hot coffee and a smile.
All you could manage was a tight, rushed smile while placing the mug in front of him haphazardly.
Bucky’s brows furrowed as you kept up your work, not even stopping to speak a word to him. He waited and waited, but you kept to yourself and served the countless students that walked into the cafe.
Needless to say, Bucky was confused.
“Hey, Y/N?” He finally piped up after almost two hours of watching you.
“Oh, yeah, need something James?” You asked, focused on pouring the right amount of milk into a cup.
James.
You never called him James.
“Uh, no. Just wanted to ask you if everything was alright?” Bucky inquired, hoping you’d give him something.
“Yeah, just working.” You replied shortly.
“Oh. Alright, doll.” Bucky took the hint, you thought.
But he still sat there until you got off your shift, which is exactly what you did not want.
While walking out of the cafe, you didn’t even look in Bucky’s direction. You walked right out, and by the time he saw you leaving he was sprinting out of his seat, but you had disappeared into the crowd of people walking about.
The next day was more of the same. Bucky sitting and waiting, and you sneaking out to avoid him.
On Thursday night after work, you waited for the elevator in your apartment building, and just as the doors were about to close, a tall, burly blond slid his way in.
“Oh, hey Y/N.” He nodded down at you.
“Hi, Steve.” You muttered, looking down at your shoes.
“How ya been? Haven’t seen you around that much lately.” He asks.
“Oh, just busy with work and school, finals and stuff are coming up.” You answered, pursing your lips.
“Yeah, Bucky’s been mentioning that he hasn’t spent time with you in a while. You should talk to him.” He looked at you.
“Steve, are you here on behalf of Bucky?” You asked, anger raising inside you.
“Well, no, not really. My girlfriend Peggy lives on the 13th floor, so I gotta head out, but just… talk to him, Y/N? He misses you, I think.” Steve punctuates his sentence with the elevator doors sliding shut and leaving you with your thoughts.
-
Of course, you didn’t follow Steve’s advice. You didn’t know how to really act around him now, but you didn’t want to completely cut him off.
So the following week had been a bit of the same, but Wednesday came, and that’s when it all blew up in your face.
After work, you snuck out from the back, but the alleyway that was usually empty had one single person there, waiting for you.
“Hey doll, can we talk?”
Fuck.
“Uh, yeah, sure what’s up?” You asked, standing a mere distance from him.
“It’s just… why have you been avoiding me?” Bucky sounded unsure, like he was crazy.
“Bucky, I’ve just been busy, I’m sorry-” You started, but he wasn’t having any of it.
“Y/N, please. It’s been almost two weeks and you haven’t said more than five words to me. Did something happen? Did I upset you somehow?” He sounded desperate, like he was really trying.
But all your mind could think of is him that night. His arms around Natasha, his lips attached to hers.
And then it went to all of the moments you two shared. Hours of conversations, pet names, talking about everything under the sun.
“Bucky, I just… I don’t understand.”
“What, what don’t you understand, doll?” He was pleading with you here.
“That party… why did you invite me?” You carefully asked.
Bucky looked confused now. “Because I wanted to hang out with you and have fun?”
You shuffled your feet against the gravel, scoffing at yourself.
“So why did you spend the whole night making out with Natasha?” You asked, pretty boldly if you would admit it to yourself. You were never one for confrontation, but Bucky had put you in a corner.
“I… doll… I’m sorry, ya gotta believe, it was never my intention to make you feel unimportant,” Bucky’s eyes flashed with realization at what he’d done, “I was drunk out of my damn mind because Tony was pregaming and… I’m sorry, Y/N.” Bucky bowed his head in shame.
“Just… was I all a game to you? Someone who was just there to comfort you when you needed it? Did I… ever mean anything more to you?” Your voice was meek.
“Y/N, please, look at me.” Bucky’s hand found your cheek, tilting your head up. “You are the sweetest, kindest, most intelligent person I’ve met in my entire life. There is no one else like you.” He spoke passionately.
“Then… why can’t I be enough?” Tears pooled in your eyes. “Why can’t I be the one you hold when you dance?” Why can’t I be the one who gets the guy?
“You have to believe me, I was drunk, Y/N. I know that’s no excuse, but I’m so, so, so sorry. I was just afraid. You’re always so quiet, I never know how you’re feeling, so I just assumed you weren’t interested in me the way I was interested in you. I thought I was chasing a dead end.” He confessed.
By now, fat tears were running down your face, being gently wiped away by Bucky's large thumbs.
“I just- I know I don’t talk much, but I always talk to you. It was so hard for me to open up to you and when I saw you with Natasha I just… I thought I had driven you away. I thought you’d found someone better because I wasn’t enough for you.”  You barely choked out the words.
“Sweetheart, you are more than enough for me. I come and sit with you at work for hours just to hear you talk. I just didn’t know how to tell you without freaking you out.”
By now, the both of you were crying, trying to understand how you got here.
“I’m sorry, Buck. You’re just so different. I never thought someone like you could like someone like me.”
“Doll, please. I wouldn’t shut up about you to Steve, he was going insane.” Bucky cracked a smile, thumbing at your cheek still.
You giggled at that, sniffling.
“Look at us. Two big idiots, huh?” You laughed.
“The biggest idiots. But I think I’ll be an even bigger idiot if i don't do this.” He  mumbled.
“Do what?”
Before the question could leave your lips, his mouth was on yours, capturing it in a sweet kiss that you didn’t even know you were longing for.
After coming out of your daze, your eyes fluttered open when Bucky pulled away.
“What was that for?” You breathily asked, bringing your fingers up to your lips.
“It was to show you how sorry I am. I wanna take you out and show you off, Y/N. I wanna make you my girl. Whaddaya say?” Bucky was smiling, but you could tell he was nervous.
“Sure, Buck. I’ll be your girl. But you gotta take me out for dinner first.” You smirked, clutching Bucky’s face in your hands.
“I’ll take ya wherever ya wanna go, sweetheart. I’d take you to the moon if you wanted.”
You are my home.
Introduction: this is my first writing on here. Bare with me.
Summary: you are a new member of the team after tony finds you in a hydra raid. You are shy, reserved, and not very talkative at first until you realize the team is not going to hurt you. Once comfortable you show them your powers and fall for a certain super soldier, again.
I used google translate for words in Russian, so if the words are wrong. I apologize.
In my writing, no one is dead.
Pairing: bucky x reader, everyone else is platonic.
Genre: fluff, anguish, mentions of torture, blood.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I am crouched in the conner,on the floor of my cell waiting for the guards to come get me. My daily training. More like torture.
They make me train as hard as I can and if they think I am slaking, I get a few thousand jolts of electricity shot through my body. Or even a few punches.
Yesterday was one of the worst days so far, that I can remember. I was getting random images flash inside my head, almost from a past life from what I saw, which made me loose focus quite a bit. In return the men who watch me train were heavy with the electricity jolts and even harder punches, anywhere they could land on my body. So, I was not looking forward to today's training.
I don't have a clock or windows in my cell but I knew every time they would come to get me. Like my body knew the exact moment every day. So when that time came and I was still in my cell I was growing a little worry. They are never late, sometimes early, but never late. Just then a siren rang out and the lights dimmed then went red. Was that the alarm for an intruder? How is that possible?
As a million thoughts ran through my head at what could possibly cause the alarm to go off. A very vivid picture or memory came to me and played on repeat. It looked to be the 40's, on a dock or a pier, I was laughing and looking out at the water. There were two guys with me. One was small, blonde hair, blue eyes, and had a small smile on his face. The second was bigger then the first, had brown hair, bright blue eyes, and laughing with me. Why do they look familiar? Why do I have two names on the tip of my tongue? Who are they? Just as I was about to say those names my cell door was blown off and there was a cloud of dust.
As the dust settles and I can properly see, there is a man in a red and gold suit of metal. He walks towards me as he says "Cap we got someone here. She looks no older then 24, covered in bruises, and looks terrified.""Yes, I'll make sure to get her out.""No, I can't tell if she is dangerous." He sighs and crouches down so he can look me in the eyes.
"Hi, I am Tony Stark, and I am going to take you away from here." Tony says and offers me a hand. I take it cautiously and follow him out the door and eventually outside.
Once we made it outside I take a deep breath. It felt so good to get clean air. I don't even remember the last time I was outside. Must have been years. I had to shield my eyes, it was so bright out. I didnt notice more people joining us. I was to busy looking at my hands and arms. Was I always this pale? I look up at the guy who took me away, Tony, and then darkness.
Tony catches me before I could hit the floor and runs into the jet. He lays be on a table and Bruce starts an examination. Nobody dared bother him. Nat hands Tony a flash drive and sits back down with the others.
While I was unconscious and now in the medbay at the compound, I was getting more images. Some are to fast to register what it was and some stayed a good while showing me a life I do not remember, but wish I did. Also things I did, hurting people, a chair, and training. It was all to much. To much pain, suffering, lose. I could feel myself have a panic attack. Which alerted everyone.
I jolted up into a sitting position clenching my chest and taking big gasps of air. My heart monitor going off like crazy. I looked around frantically, not recognizing where I was. I tried to rip out the Iv's but a pinching sensation in my shoulder makes me stop. I look up and see a women, before I am unconscious again.
Meanwhile in the common area Tony, Steve, Natasha, Wanda, Sam, Clint, Vision, Bucky, Bruce, Thor, Loki, Scott, and Peter all sat around looking at my file.
"Her name is y/n, y/ln. She was born in 1918, lived in Brooklyn, New York. Was taken by Hydra in 1946 while she was working on a S.H.I.E.L.D mission. Hasn't been seen since. Until about 2001 when she was spotted riding a motorcycle from a crime scene. Looked to be an assassination. Then again in 2003, 2005, 2007, 2012 and the last time in 2014. So the last time was 7 years ago. It shows she was trained like the winter soldier, but never met one another. But her powers got out of control and they have been training her to keep them in control since 2014. She has assassinated 6 men, 4 women, 2 children, and 1 hydra agent in a training gone wrong on that one." Tony reads outloud to everyone.
Steve and Bucky look at each other with a look in their eyes, as if they can't believe it. Then Tony brings up a picture of me for the group to see. Everyone gasps as a few photos show up. One is me, Steve, and Bucky at Coney Island. Then one of me and Bucky smiling at each other. Then there is one of me and Peggy Carter. Once all pictures are shown, all eyes are on Steve and Bucky.
"You know her?" Asked Natasha. Everyone silently asking the same thing.
"Yes, we know her. She was our friend. She grew up with us. She was our best friend. And a little more to Bucky." Steve answers quietly, looking at Bucky. It has been 78 years since he has seen her.
As they tell the others about me and what they remember, I am waking up again at the medbay. This time more calm. The nurses and doctors where asking me questions but I wouldn't answer them. They could tell they were not going to get anywhere with me, they called Tony and Bruce. I still would not talk to them.
How could I trust them? I don't even know them. For all I know they could be Hydra as well. With all these images popping up I don't even know what to believe anymore. Both men were throwing question after question at me. I didnt know how to answer. Or if I even should. Once they realized they were not going to get anywhere they left.
By the time I got the okay from the doctors, I was put inside a cell. Something I am all to familiar with. But this one was clean, had a comfortable bed, running water, and was warm. All the walls were glass and I could see people standing around watching me. Two I kinda recognized due to the images that I get. Each one would ask a question, each time I just stared ahead.
"We want to help you." A women with red and blonde hair spoke up after a few minutes of silence. I laughed.
"You want to help me? You don't even know me. How can you help me?" I responded quietly.
"Wanda has some powers and is able to look inside your head. Put the pieces together for you. Help you remember." The same women responded looking at another women with red hhai. I am guessing is Wanda.
"We read your file, y/n, let us help you remember the things they have taken from you." Tony says as he walks around. I don't respond, just look at everyone.
They gave up after 3 hours of silence from me and them asking questions. They leave me alone until a few days later. For those days they would bring me food, check to see if I am okay, then leave. It was Wanda, Tony, Bruce, and Steve that came a few days later. I watch them as they open the door to my cell and take a seat on a bench.
"If you are okay with this, we would like to try something. It does involve bringing back everything Hydra took from you. It might be painfull. But we think you should have the choice in remembering your life."Tony speaks up after a few minutes of silence.
Do I trust these people to try and help me? Do I even want the help? To remember all the pain I have caused and I life I will never get back.
I look at the four people in front of me and when I looked at the blonde man named Steve a memory came to me. It was just us two in a tent that looked to be on a base of some sort. He was the way he is now bigger then the other one I have seen. As if he grew or got on steroids. He was telling me about someone but it was fuzzy but I had this feeling of sadness.
I take a big breath in and look at them. "What do I have to lose? Not like I am going anywhere anytime soon." I tell them as I look at my hands.
I didnt see Tony nod at the door but did hear it open. I look up to see a young girl, with a different wardrobe then the others. She smiles kindly at me as she sits next to Wanda.
"Hi, my name is Shuri. I am from Wakanda and I can help you remember." I just stare at her.
"How long will this take?" I ask quietly.
"Depends on the damage they have caused for you to forget everything. Could be a few days, weeks, months. If you have trigger words. We will make.."
"Trigger words? What does that mean?" I interrupt her.
"Words that change you into a different person. Like they did witht he winter soldier. When we got the files from the base you were held in, shows you do have some." Tony says to me.
"Oh, so then I guess we should start this thing." I tell them. They did not expect me to say that.
They step out of my cell and start to say 6 words in Russian.
"девять- nine"
"машина-car"
"цветок-flower"
At this word I started to feel a crawling sensation run across my skin. I started to blink rapidly, my vision was getting foggy.
"слива-plum"
"банан-banana"
Now I'm rolling my shoulders, flexing my hands, shaking my head. That crawling sensation is getting thicker, heavier.
"рок-rock"
Once that last word was said I stand up, look at them with a blank expression, and cock my head to the side a little. "готов подчиниться- ready to comply."
They ready the words and I am me again. Well the shell of me that I know. I sit on the bed and take deep breaths. I did not like the feeling of having no control.
They watch me before they leave me alone for a little bit. I don't remember those words but it felt like my body did and it hurt badly.
As i sit and then pace and sit again for I don't know how long, everyone else is in the common area trying to figure out what to do next.
"Her words are different from Bucky's, why?" Same asks as they watch me in my cell.
"They made the words unique for that person. Hers are more girly because she is a girl and what she likes. They make it so only one person gets triggered and not all at once." Bucky says with a frown.
As they continue to talk and see the next step. I am going a little crazy in my cell. I started to throw everything that I could, I tried breaking the walls, the floor. I was screaming, crying, and bleeding. No one knew of my powers because it was not put in any files. So when I fall to my knees and scream everything shuts down and I pass out.
Once the lights were out, they were up and running to my cell. As people in the building were trying to get the power back on.
When they get to me I was laying on the floor and covered in some weird goo. That started right as I hit the floor. Bruce went to check if I was okay and when he tried to check my pulse he got shocked. He steps away and goes to the others.
"This is not in her file, didnt show if she had powers or not. Why would they do that?" Natasha says as the nurses come in hazmat suits.
"Because she is more dangerous then we thought." Steve says sadly.

That is part 1. Possibly a part two.

You weren’t wanted, what’s the point of going back?

Age: 20 Year: Dec. 2014 Location: Brooklyn, NY
"How have you been James?”
Bucky looks out the window to his right. Hands grasped together in his lap as he sits on the dark green sofa across from the woman he's been seeing for the last 5 months.
He ponders the question, making sure to answer it honestly. He looks back at her giving her his full attention again.
"Good," he answers truthfully, a small smile planted on his face. Life has been good. School is going incredibly well. My job is going better than I could've imagined. Really learning a lot."
"How are things going with Natasha?" The older lady asks.
“Great. Really great," Bucky says with a slightly bigger smile.
"Good. I'm glad to hear that," she smiles back, proud to the see progress James has made since his first visit moths ago.
After the blow up he and Steve had, Bucky fell into a depressive state. He refused to talk to anyone about what had happened. It wasn't until his younger sister Rebecca came to talk to him:
"I get you don't want to talk to any of us about what happened last week," she said as Bucky laid in bed looking out the window, his back facing her, "But you can't just stay in bed, hiding for the world. Starving yourself isn't going to solve anything.
"Sulking is only going to make you worse. It's not healthy, Buck. We're all worried. Ma is incredibly worried. She's barely been eating. I hear her wandering the house at all hours, because she can't sleep."
"You don't want to talk to us, fine. But you need to talk to someone. If not for yourself, but for Ma. Please," she begs, before leaving Bucky alone to ponder what she said.
He knew he wasn't coping the healthy way. He hadn't realized how much he was affecting his family by shutting down. The last thing he wanted to do was worry his mother. So he got himself up, took a shower, ate breakfast with his family. They were surprised to see him come down, but tried not to draw any extra attention to it. Rebecca gave him an understanding nod, which he reciprocated. After breakfast, he began his research. He decided to listen to Rebecca's advice and find someone to talk to someone to help him make sense of what is going on in his mind.
And that's how he ended up in Dr. Abraham's office.
"Have you contacted Steve yet?" She asks.
"No," he answered fiddling with his fingers, "I feel embarrassed about the way I reacted."
"That's normal, James," she assured him, "But in order to repair any damage that's been cost, you need to talk to Steve. To move forward. From what you've told me he's a very understanding person. I'm sure once you've apologized and explain to him the steps you've taken to help your mental health, I'm sure he'd be willing to accept you back into his life."
"I'm not so sure," he looked down at his hands.
"You won't know until you've tried. Listen, I'm not here to tell you what to do or what not to do. I'm just here to help you navigate your thoughts a little better. In a more healthy way. If you're really serious about living a more healthier mental life, I think you should talk to him. You don't want to really throw this lifelong friendship away, do you?"
"No, I don't," he shakes his head.
"Good. Remember to be honest," she tells him, "Vulnerability isn't a bad thing. Your feelings aren't a nuisance. it's how you handle them is what matters. I'm not saying you have to talk to him as soon as you walkout of here. I just want you to start making the notion of doing so. Our time is just about up, how about we do this. Some homework for the week.
"I want you to write a letter to Steve. Bring it in next week, you don't have to read it. But I would like to discuss it. What do you say?"
"Okay, I could do that," he agreed.

Christmas week
Steve and Elizabeth flew back home a few days before Christmas. They put their bags in the trunk of their rental car.
The car ride was silent for awhile, both tired after a long flight, now sitting in traffic on their way back to their parents' place. This would be their first time back to Brooklyn since the whole Bucky situation. The road trip back to California was fun, but there was a looming sadness over Steve. It's not like he regrets standing up to Bucky he doesn't. He just wishes thing would've played out differently. He really wished Bucky would've talked to him before he left back to California.
"How are you feeling about being back?" Elizabeth asks, while they sat in traffic.
"I don't know," Steve sighs, "Feels weird going back home and not talking to Bucky."
"Maybe you should try calling him. It's been a few months. I'm sure he'd be willing to hear you out," she said, rubbing his right arm.
"I don't want to push him," Steve said through gritted teeth, his grip on the steering wheel getting tighter.
Bucky had been a touchy subject the last few months. During the first month Elizabeth would ask Steve if he'd heard from him, the answer always being no, followed by Steve shutting down. After that Elizabeth stopped asking, noticing how much it was affecting Steve, but the constant reminder of it wasn't helping. She knew that if Bucky ever did call, Steve would tell her. The only thing she could do was be patient and be there for Steve whenever he needed her.
The holidays kept everyone busy. On Christmas Eve. Steve spent it with Elizabeth's family at her grandma's house. Elizabeth found herself watching Steve play with her younger cousins, she couldn't help but giggle when they roped him into a tea party. She found herself imagining a future where Steve would do the same with their own children. She quickly shook the daydream away. Reprimanding herself a little for even thinking about kids at their young age.
On Christmas morning Elizabeth and Steve spent it with his parents. It was a nice peaceful day just lounging around in their pajamas. For dinner, Elizabeth's parents went over to have dinner at the Rogers' house. It was a nice little send off dinner for their parents who were leaving for Mexico to spend the New Years for a couples' getaway.
Elizabeth and Steve were heading to the Hamptons to spent NYE with Wanda, Thor, Loki, and Scott. They had planned to have a nice, peaceful trip.
While Steve and Elizabeth were at the Hamptons, Bucky and Natasha were spending their NYE at his family's beach cottage in Port Washington.
They were cuddled on the couch surrounded by take out containers, watching the New Years Eve special waiting for midnight to happen.
Bucky got up about 15 minutes to midnight to grab something from the kitchen. He walked back into the room with a new bottle of champagne and two champagne flutes.
"Got some champagne," he said holding it up for Natasha to see.
"Um," Natasha awkwardly shifted in her seat, "Actually about that."
Bucky looked at Nat confused, putting the bottle and flutes down on the coffee table before sitting back down next to her.
"What's wrong" he asked, grabbing the tv remote to mute the tv, and give Natasha his full undivided attention.
"So there's something I haven't told you," she says looking down at her fidgeting fingers.
"You're worrying me Nat," Bucky said, grabbing her hands to help ease her nerves
She looked up to meet his worry filled eyes.
"I'm pregnant," she announced.
Bucky eyes widen at her announcement, instantly dropping her hands. The look on her face showing she was telling the truth.
"How is that possible?" He asks in disbelief, "We've been so careful. We use double the protection. Condoms and you're on the pill."
"Actually about that," she nervously shifted under his intense gaze, "I haven't been on birth control in a little over two months."
"What?" Bucky yelled, quickly rising from his seat, "What do you mean you haven't been on birth control in a little over two months?"
"I got off of it," she shrugged trying to play it off, "It's my body and I can do what I want with it. And I just wanted to give my body a break, I've been on the pill since I was 15."
"I get it's your body, Natasha, I'm all for you doing whatever you want," he stresses, "but you should've told me. I'm your boyfriend, we have sex frequently. You should've at least had the respect of your sexual partner, letting him know that you were no longer on birth control. So in that case I could've been a tad more careful."
"We were using condoms," she half heartedly defended herself.
"They aren't 100% effective Natasha," he gripped his hair, in complete disbelief over this entire conversation, "You even know that. That also doesn't defend yourself for not telling me. You should've told me."
"I'm sorry. It's not like I was planning for this to happen," she yelled.
Bucky just stared at her like she just grew two heads. How is she not freaking out, he thought. They were clearly way too young for this. Which is why they took precautionary measures.
After a few moments of silence Natasha spoke up, "I'm keeping the baby."
Bucky didn't know what to say. He felt the room closing in on him. He started having a hard time catching his breath.
"James," Natasha quietly said, getting up to check on him. He raised his hand, silently telling her to stay where she's at.
He headed for the back door, the house felt too suffocating for him. He walked through the the small yard to the gate that led to the beach. Stumbling around.
To a stranger they would just think he's drunk. In reality he was just having a panic attack.
It was all too much. His mind was racing.
She's pregnant. With a baby. My baby. I'm going to have a kid. I'm going to be a dad. I'm not ready to be a dad. My dad was shit. God I can't be like my dad. I'm not ready for all of this.
He put his hands on his knees, hunched over trying to catch his breath. But he just couldn't. He did the only thing he could think of. He pulled out his phone and dialed the only person he knew would help.

Steve and Elizabeth were laughing with their friends, waiting for the countdown to begin. Steve felt his phone vibrating in his pocket. He moved his shoulder off of the back of the couch, where Elizabeth was cuddled up against.
He pulled his phone out and his heart dropped at the name that appeared. He quickly got up and walked out of the living room and upstairs to the room where he was staying in for the week.
Wanda raised her eyebrow at Elizabeth, who just shrugged her shoulders, equally as confused.
"Bucky?" Steve answered the phone, closing the door behind him. He could hear Bucky hyperventilating on the other side.
"Steve," he tried to get out.
"Buck, what's wrong?" Steve asked, pressing the phone even closer to his ear the sound of everyone downstairs counting down to midnight.
"Steve, I-," Bucky was struggling to get out.
"Buck, please try to calm down," Steve stressed, "Inhale, hold it for a few seconds and then exhale. You need to calm down. I can't help you, if I can't understand you."
Bucky tried his best to calm himself down, with Steve talking him through it.
"Now, can you explain to me what's wrong?" Steve asked, hearing Bucky's breathing leveling out more.
"I-I'm not re-ready Steve," Bucky stutters, sniffling his nose.
"It's okay take your time, I'm here whenever you're ready."
"No, it's Natasha.”
"What's Natasha? Is she okay?" Steve questioned, getting more concerned.
"Yes, she's fi-ine," he stuttered again, trying to say the words.
"Where are you Buck?" Steve asked, looking around for his shoes and keys.
"I'm at the beach cottage."
"I'm in the Hamptons. Is there any way you can meet me back at my place?"
"Yeah, I think I can," Bucky said a bit more calmer now.
"Okay, I'll see you soon."
When midnight struck Elizabeth went upstairs to check on Steve, making sure everything was okay. She could hear him on the phone talking to Bucky, trying to calm him down. She waited outside of the door to give them some privacy.
Twenty minutes later Wanda went to go check on them, to find Elizabeth sitting on the floor.
"Is everything okay?" She whispered.
"I don't know," she answered, "I'm waiting for Steve. You can head back down, I'll be down shortly."
"Okay. We're here if you guys need anything," Wanda said before walking back down.
After another 25 minutes Elizabeth heard Steve hang up the phone. She softly knocked on the door, and let herself in. She walked in to see Steve frantically going around the room collecting his things.
"Steve is everything okay?"
"It's Buck. He called me while he was having a panic attack. Something about Natasha," he tells her.
"Is she okay?"
"I think so. I was able to calm him down. I need to get back home," he said putting his things in his suitcase.
"Okay. I completely understand. Do you want me to go with you for the drive?" She asked.
"I don't want you to have to cut your time here short," he says, feeling guilty for bringing this on her.
"Steve, something is clearly going on with Bucky. I want you to go to him, but maybe it's best if I drove. I haven't had a drink in hours, and you seem too frantic. Please let me help," she pleaded, placing her hand on his stopping him.
Steve looked up and noticed the worry on Elizabeth's face.
"Okay," he gave in, "We'll need to leave as soon as we can."
Elizabeth nodded, quickly grabbing her weekender bag and start shoving things in. If they forgot anything's he knew Wanda would bring it back.
They said their quick goodbyes and were on the road within 5 minutes, with Elizabeth behind the wheel and Steve fidgeting in the passenger seat.

Bucky took a few minutes to himself on the beach, trying to make sure his anxiety was at rest before he headed back inside. When he entered the house, Natasha shot up from her seat.
"Happy New Years," she awkwardly said, trying to cut the obvious tension.
"Umm," Bucky scratched his head looking everywhere but at Natasha, "We need to leave."
"What?"
"I mean, you can stay if you want and I'll pick you up tomorrow," he rephrased, "But I can't stay here. I need to go. Steve is meeting me at his house."
"Steve?" She was taken back by that mention, not expecting to hear Bucky say his name. He hasn't mentioned Steve in months.
"Yeah, I called him," Bucky says rubbing the back of his neck.
"Well that's good right?"
"Yeah, listen. I really need to go, so are you going to stay or come with me?"
"To see Steve?"
"No. I would drop you off at your place," he tells her, "I'm seeing Steve alone."
"Will she be there?"
Natasha didn't really know exactly why Steve and Bucky weren't talking, at first. Then she heard that Steve and Elizabeth were dating, and it all made sense. The only person that could tear Bucky and Steve apart. She never told Bucky that she knew. Figured it wasn't worth the fight. Especially not now when she was carrying his child.
To an outsider it might seem like she got pregnant on purpose, but that wasn't the case. She knew they were too young for this, at least that's what she thought when she first found out about the pregnancy a week ago. But now that she's sat with it she's taking it as a sign that this is meant to happen. She's just really hoping that Bucky would see it, if not now but eventually.
"Listen, Natasha, I don't have time for this," he looks her in the eyes, "Are you coming or not?"
"I'll get my bag," she remarked with a snark tone, walking passed him to their shared room.

A couple of hours later Bucky was pulling up in front of the Rogers' house. 2:15 am read the clock in his car. He looked to his right, out the passenger side window to see a dark figure sat on the front steps of the house.
Bucky took one last breath before exiting the vehicle.
As soon as he opened the front gate Steve stood up from where he was sat on the stairs.
Once Bucky approached him both young men threw their arms around each other. Gripping each other tightly, fighting back the tears that threatened to fall. They stayed like that for awhile. Relishing in the comfort of being back in each other's arms. Their silent fight no longer important. All they knew in that moment was everything was going to be okay, because no matter what they'll always have each other.

Steve walked into his parents' living room holding two mugs of coffee. As he rounded the couch, he handed one to Bucky.
"Sorry, if I ruined any of your plans," Bucky apologized, "Tell Elizabeth I'm sorry for taking you away."
'Buck, don't worry about it," Steve waved him off, "She completely understands. And truth be told, I wasn't necessarily feeling in the New Year's mood."
"Yeah," Bucky sighs.
"Do you want to talk about what happened tonight?" Bucky nods his head, placing the coffee mug on the coffee table in front of him. He shifted his body to the left to face Steve.
"She's pregnant," he announces.
"What?" Steve asked, not expecting that to be the reason, he quickly placed his mug next to Bucky's.
"Yeah, my reaction exactly," Bucky said.
"What? How?"
"Apparently Natasha hasn't been on the pill in a couple of months," Bucky explains, "And even though we always used condoms, they aren't exactly 100% effective."
"Did you know she wasn't on the pill?"
"Nope," Bucky tells him, "If I knew I wouldn't been a bit more cautious."
"So she told you she was pregnant?" Steve said getting back to it.
"Yeah. She was so nonchalant about it. Like it was no big deal," Bucky stressed,
"How is she just so calm. We're not prepared for this. I'm not ready for this Steve. I can't be a dad. I don't even know how to be a decent human being."
"That's not true Buck," Steve disagreed.
"Come on Steve, we haven't talked in months, and we both know it's not because you didn't try," Bucky says, "I was so caught up in my own jealousy. And selfishness, that I never even considered your feelings or Elizabeth's. And I don't think I can ever make it up to you for treating you like you're nothing to me."
"You were hurt," Steve tried to excuse.
"Doesn't excuse the way I behaved," Bucky says, "I know that now."
"I've been seeing a therapist," Bucky informs him, "I never realized how much my mental health was taking a toll on those around me. So after our fight, I found someone to talk to. To work through the shit that's going on in my mind."
"How's that been going?" Steve asked.
"Good," Bucky gives a half smile, "Really good. She's good. I've realized a lot about myself that I didn't know. Working through all the issues I've had with my father leaving."
"That's good Buck. I'm proud of you, truly," Steve beamed, patting Bucky on the shoulder.
"I really am sorry for the way I behaved," Bucky repeated again.
"Buck, you really don't have to apologize again," Steve told him.
"I need to Steve," he said, "I can't believe I acted that way. I should've been happy for you and Elizabeth. I'm glad you two have each other. Seriously. I couldn't imagine her with anyone better, same goes for you. I won't cause any more issues for you two. It's not worth not having you in my life. You're my brother Steve, and I don't want to miss anything."
"Thanks, Buck. It really means a lot to me to hear that," Steve smiles, "Because I don't want to miss anything in your life also."
"Yeah, especially now," he says, the reality of why they're there dawning back.
"How are you feeling now about the baby?"
"I don't know, man," Bucky shakes his head, "I'm afraid I'm going to screw this up, like everything else."
"But now you're working on that," Steve reminds him, "And you're not going to be doing this alone. You have people who are always going to be there. I may be in California now, but I'm just a phone call away. You're not alone. But you do have to try Buck. That's all that you can ever do. Try your best, no one's asking you to be perfect, but as long as you're trying your best, that's what's important."

Age: 21 Year: 2015
The sounds of a baby crying woke Bucky up from his sleep in the early depths of the morning. He quietly and quickly got out of bed, making his way to the small New York kitchen to make a bottle.
He walked into the small nursery where the two-month-old baby wailed from hunger.
"It's okay," Bucky shushed gently, picking up the small baby, "Daddy's here."
He adjusted the small baby in his arms before placing the bottle in the baby's mouth.
"There you go," he encouraged the small one, as soon as he heard the sounds of the baby drinking.
Bucky sat down on the chair in the corner of the room, opposite of the crib. He just stared as the newborn drank their bottle, while simultaneously falling asleep. Even though he was completely exhausted, he had never felt more happier. More at peace with where his life was at.
As long as he kept trying his best, he knows he can do this for the rest of his life.
