#legend of zelda #echoes of wisdom #loz eow #loz #zelda #tri #josh art tag #been meaning to do a full on stained glass drawing for like 2 years now lol #ive had ideas but none really stuck with me until this one #and the reason why is cuz this one was more of a scene! it wasnt just a normal drawing made to look like stained glass #it had what is supposed to be a literal window with someone standing before it looking up at it #also i find the timing of this drawing funny #cuz i just recently changed my shading style to resemble stained glass even more so than usual #cuz for years now ive gottem comments saying #my style reminds people of stained glass #and sometimes i see it sometimes i dont #cuz my shading style changes and sometimes it really did look glass like #but other times i dont think it did?? but i still got those comments??#maybe its like the way i do lineart or block out shapes?#idk but recently when i was growing tired of my previous coloring style i remembered those comments #and decided to lean into it #but now just a little while after that #here i am doing a legit stained glass illustration lol

I also hand tied parts of the fringe to make sure it looked right. I could have styled it better #but my straightener is old and not suited for doing anything at this scale #anyway he's already become a custom emote in a discord server and is very loved. as he should be.

on a more serious note i know ad astra as a whole isnt over but i still want to thank daybreaker for their fics. what friends are for was the very first md fic i ever stumbled upon when trying out ao3 for the first time, and prior to joining the server i was checking it near daily for uploads. god knows if i'd be as deep in ao3 as i am now if it werent for this story and convenient timing. #crunchchute art #my art #sam and max #sam & max #i hope it will be viewable as i dont know how much tumblr will crunch it #in any case i have it up on twitter also and it seems to be in good quality there #it looks like a 'the 7 human souls:' meme hfhdhf #hey i can put more thoughts in the tags right? so first i didnt really put enough effort into my own one and i kinda realized my style #is kinda mid ngl. cause im lazy + this coloring style might not really fit them. anyway.#for sootnukis style i adore the rendering of the clothing folds and stuff but i couldnt get it just right it remains a mystery to me #silcrow i tried to do a traditional drawing but kinda messed up some of the coloring especially on the pants #also couldnt figure out if its just markers or markers + pencils or what. so i kinda did my own take of 90% markers 10% pencils #mtsodie i love the color palettes and the shapes so that was a lot of fun to try; i like the outcome #narnour i absolutely love the tiny little eyes and how goofy and round they look so that was fun to try to replicate too #as well as the colors which i mostly color picked cause i couldnt get a red overlay right #zembo was a nice way to revisit a chalky brush that i havent used in ages not sure if i got it right though #applettoast i feel like theres some gorillaz influence or its at least something i used while coloring. as you might know i used to draw #gorillaz a lot and tried to replicate the coloring etc. and i think it fit here. correct me if im wrong lol #snuckeys was also hella fun cause i love the cartooniness and the details like the teeth showing gums and stuff. hope i did it justice #also the eyes! i love the big highlight and that the eyes are brown its cute #it was nice to branch out for a bit

ART RAMBLES: as i mentioned on the tags of my last drawing this piece gave me SUCH a headache #i think it's probably cos it was just supposed to be a quick sketch so i used a more stable pencil brush #but then i really liked it so i decided to properly colour it instead of just doing the watercolour thing i usually do for sketches #but with finished pieces i like the lineart to be kinda messy and the sketch to even show through bit #and since i used the more stable brush for the sketch it ended up looking WAY too clean. not like my stuff at all.#so i just started throwing stuff at the wall to see what could make it more interesting. full background! actual lineart! texture layers!#and this here is what i was the happiest with. i don't... love it though. it should be looking way more interesting given the pose #and then i also did the purge girl halfway through this and it looked SO good right out of the bat (pun intended)#so i went a bit into a spiral. did some realistic stuff i'll post soon. and now am trying out a thick black lineart style.#(i'll definitely still use the coloured lines for the sketchy watercolour stuff though. it just looks way too cute)
