🌈💫 - my favorite colors r green n yellow . i like all shades of green, and specific shades of yellow (im picky w my yellow shades,) most of these shades include orange leaning yellows and light summery/sunny yellows. like i said before i enjoy all shades of green but some of my favorites are yellow toned greens (light and dark) and minty greens

🪻💫 - last song i listened to was Rabbit Hole by DECO*27. it's one of my favorite songs, and listening to it on repeat is an act of stimming for me agfehjgghj its also a big creative inspiration helper for me. i love this song so much so dearly

🌚💫 - coffee or tea? neither sorry gang. but if i had to choose then it would be coffee even if it gives me severe shakes. first and last time i had coffee was when one of my old friends bought me one in middle school (it was chocolate flavored) and i couldnt focus and couldnt stop shaking/being incredibly anxious and giggly after drinking it o7 i prefer sodas and 'energy drinks' (i know people dont count gatorade as energy drinks but i do bcs thats what i grew up callin them. i think if i had an actual energy drink i'd straight up die given the effect coffee had on me. but i'd prefer an energy drink over coffee i think because i dont like the smell of coffee, and smell is a big part of food/drink for me. im unfortunately incredibly picky with eating.)

Jaemin has a reputation as a “cool” kind of guy, which is why he wears bracelets to hide the words permanently etched on his left wrist

“Wait- if it’s not butter, then what is it?”

Jisung and Haechan are notorious for giving him shit for having a ‘weird’ soulmate, but Jaemin thinks it’s kind of funny, honestly

Like great question dude but,,, why are you asking me this

Jaemin’s apartment is around the corner from a little family-owned grocery store that he’s frequented since his high school days.

He’s very much a regular, to the point of the owner being like “Jaemin…. Please just work here. You already know where everything is”

To which Jaemin has to respectfully decline, because he wants to focus on his dancing and singing, and working too much would get in the way of practicing.

That, however, does not stop the old man from sending customers with questions to Jaemin whenever he comes in.

Because Jaemin is too polite to be like “uhh I don’t work here, good luck”, he always ends up helping them

But secretly, he doesn’t mind. He thinks that maybe one day, his soulmate will be the next one to ask him a question.

Even after repeated questions about “how much does this cost?”, “when do you guys open tomorrow?”, “when will the next shipment of bok choy be in?”, he still isn’t terribly bothered.

The other employees chastise the boss for sending customers to Jaemin, but the old man is always like “he knows this store better than you all do. That’s why he gets a discount higher than yours”

Employee discount: 15 percent off all merchandise

Na Jaemin discount: 20 percent off all merchandise

It’s an unspoken rule amongst employees that Na Jaemin gets a discount, but they are NEVER to mention it to him! He knows that business has been rough recently and wouldn’t accept the generosity, but the boss thinks Jaemin is too skinny and wants him to be able to afford to eat well.

Now lovely reader, this is where you come in. You recently got a job at this grocery store but you work in the back, so you have never seen the famous “Na Jaemin” that all your fellow employees chat about so frequently.

Coworker #1: “Ugh, he’s like SO dreamy”

Coworker #2: “I know right? He’ll have no trouble becoming an idol at this rate”

Meanwhile you’re like “lol what who? Also where is the printer for printing clearance labels”

You specifically applied for the back of house position because you did not want to talk to people.

It’s not that you’re antisocial by any means- honestly it’s the opposite. It’s just that you have the tendency to say whatever you’re thinking with absolutely no filter.

So in the past when more…. challenging… customers have talked down to you, you gave back the same energy without thinking.

Management was not happy,,, so you were like “mmmm maybe I should just keep to myself and everyone would be happier”

One day though, it seems that you’re shit out of luck.

Your work bestie calls you at 3 in the morning on your day off saying that her kid has a fever and she’s gotta stay home and take care of him.

You have no plans other than generally being a lazy lump at home, and she’s always had your back at work, so you’re like “girl don’t worry about it, I got your shift. I’ll make some chicken noodle soup for him too”

To which she’s like “bitch if I hadn’t found my soulmate already I would’ve snatched you up T-T”

You giggle and tell her to try and get some rest- both her and her kid.

And then sleep another blissful 4 hours before rolling in for the 8am shift.

When you get there, boss man is like “ayeee so you’re covering for her shift which is stocking shelves, are you gonna be okay doing that?”

You: “Ahaha yeah it’ll be fine~ just please don’t send customers to me oh my gosh”

Boss Man: “Don’t worry, I just saw Jaemin walk in. I’ll send them to him”

You: “... who is Jaemin”

Boss Man: “He’s my FAVORITE!! Remember that!”

You: “Oh, okay!! Yes sir!”

You’re like fifteen minutes into your shift and you’re already on edge because all you’ve done so far is dodge all the old ladies who are shopping this early.

No actual products have been put on the shelves yet, or at least not by your hands.

Settling down in the dairy section, you relax a bit and start putting cold products in the cold shelves fixed to the wall.

And of course- things are in the wrong place. Why would anyone put anything back where it belongs?

Picking up a product, you glance at the label out of sheer boredom more than anything.

“Wait- if it’s not butter, then what is it?”, you say to yourself.

Or so you think.

“Yeah, that is like the one question I don’t know how to answer”, you hear a masculine voice say from behind.

You spin around and look up into the man’s face.

And oh boy is that a nice looking face.

“Oh I’m sorry, I- WAIT”, you start, before you realize what he said.

Grabbing his left wrist, you push up the bracelets to reveal what you’d just said. Then you drop his hand out of sudden shyness, and because it’s not cool just to grab people.

“Do… do you mind if I look at your wrist as well?”, he asks quietly.

You roll up your sleeve and present him with your arm. He delicately wraps his fingers around your wrist and flips it over to read the words written”

He drops your wrist and sinks into a squat, flopping his arms over his head and looking at the ground.

“Oh my gosh why did I say something so lame…”

“Umm,,, to be fair,,, I did ask you about butter so by comparison yours isn’t that bad,,,,”, you try to comfort him, and he lifts his head up to meet your gaze.

“You mean that? It wasn’t like the lamest thing you’ve ever heard?”

“Oh I’ve heard much lamer things, don’t worry!”, you say with a cheery smile that contrasts your words entirely.

He stands up again and clasps your hands in his. With a look of determination he looks straight into your soul and asks:

“What time do you get off work?”

You tell him, but let him know that you’ll be busy after work making chicken noodle soup for your coworker and her son.

He’s like “oh you can cook?” and you’re like “lol no but I’m gonna die trying”

He writes his phone number on your arm (next to your soulmate tattoo) and is like “text me when you’re done with work and I’ll swing by and walk you home and maybe I can help you cook”

And quickly clarifies “ONLY IF YOU’RE COMFORTABLE WITH ME IN YOUR HOME, I UNDERSTAND IF BECAUSE WE JUST MET YOU-”

You’re like “dude,,,, it’s fine, we are literally destined to be together. Also if you try anything I’ll just beat you up so it’s chill”

Looking at his watch, he sprints makes a beeline for the checkout counter, going on about he’s gonna be so later and Haechan’s never gonna let it go if he’s late twice in a row, and something else but by that point he’s so far away from the dairy aisle you can only hear muffled sounds where words should be.

The next several hours could not go by ANY SLOWER.

Starting off today, you figured the day would go by quickly because you’d be preoccupied figuring out how to do something new, but now all you can think about is pretty soulmate boy.

And how he never mentioned his name, but to be fair, it was a rather quick exchange.

What feels like centuries later, your shift is coming to a close so you grab the ingredients you the internet tells you you need for the soup and head to your favorite cashier.

Somehow the front of the store is both quiet and abnormally loud for this time of night.

“Jaemin’s been waiting there for fifteen minutes? Do you think he’s waiting for someone?”

“Maybe he needs to talk to the boss? Usually he’d just ask one of us to grab him but he’s just standing outside”

“Ugh it’s so cold, should we tell him to come inside?”

You glance over to the crowd of coworkers towards the entrance and break out into a smile.

“Just keep ringing me up, I’ll be right back!”, you tell the cashier and fast walk past the small crowd.

Peeping your head out the door, you greet him.

“Are you cold? Come inside, I’m almost done”

“Oh okay, should I wait by the door though?”

“No, come with me. I wanna show you off~”, you instruct and he raises an eyebrow, but plays along.

Holding open the door for him, he scuffles his way in and shyly offers his hand.

Gladly, and with a pounding heart, you lock your fingers between his.

“Your hands are freezing, dude”

“Shhh it’s fine. I was trying to be cool, okay”, he jokes with you as you walk back to the register

Ringing up your items, the cashier is looking at you and him with raised eyebrows, and you’re just like “shut up jessica I’ll explain tomorrow”

The two of you walk back to your apartment and spend the rest of the night cooking and talking about everything and nothing.

The more you learn about Jaemin, the more confident you are that the universe got this one right.

Even when most things feel unclear, you know this person is someone you can always rely on.

Pineapple- ok more likely than not, this is a colour association thing, but this one works as a nickname- Pineapples- but also because back in the 1700′s-1800′s a single pineapple costed $8000 in today’s money- and renting a pineapple- yes renting a pineapple started at $5000- ok I’m way off track now but Mammon in as much as he is sweet he can be a little tart when it comes to you spending time with someone else-

Chapstick- again, I don’t really know why- I really don’t know why until I start typing and then I’m too lazy to delete the though process sorry y’all- maybe it has to do with how much he snacks and the energy drinks he has- between salt from chips and not drinking actual water, he would use chapstick to stop his lips from getting dry because he doesn’t like the way they look or feel when they are...idk man I got like.. five mL left of brain juice bear with me-

Rattle (like...a baby rattle-)- because he’s the baby of the family probably- IKIK he fell as full grown-ass man but he’s still the youngest- also if you’ve never had the experience of holding an angry child and giving them a toy I encourage you to be careful- they find it funny when you say no more hitting-

If not a rattle, then curtains- reason being that he’s always putting on a show, always hiding away his anger while he puts on an act and hopes nobody provokes him-

Dew drop- (ok that’s my nickname for him now shhh) but honestly I don’t really know why I associate this with Asmo. Maybe it’s because to me seeing dew in the morning is a simple pleasure. While Asmo is far from simple, perhaps it’s moreso that people need to see him as more than a demon that only wants sexual pleasure- but little things too..little things to make our little dew drop content

Beel

A Lovebird- Again, idk! Maybe it’s the colouring some lovebirds are, (green, yellow, red-) that make me think of mangoes and just...Beel’s red hair and bottomless appetite- also he’s just really sweet and struggles to be by himself.

Belphie

Hedgehog- uhh...first nocturnal animal that came to mind without wings? Probably- or horns on Belphie vs little spikes- will hiss at you if displeased, will sleep around you if comfortable...:D

Barbatos

Campfire- hUH ok so probably has to do with the fact he seems the most mysterious to me, but very intriguing, almost like when someone tells a story around a campfire...there’s a different feeling being around a fire and telling a story versus anywhere else, but combined with the sounds of the forest, a bright moon and stars above, and an enchanting tale to listen too? Idk to me that feels like almost the same energy Barb exudes all the time-

Diavolo

An Old Stuffy/Doll- As far as we know, Diavolo was an only child growing up, we don’t know how long it’s been since his father has been asleep, and idk if it says later on in the game, but there’s been no mention of a mother. Diavolo likely entertained himself often when he was younger, and clearly didn’t make very many friends until he was a little older. Maybe it’s just me because I was an only child for ten years and wanted siblings, but an old toy...one day was the last day he stopped playing with it- likely the day he grew too lonely to play pretend or he was made to mature whether he liked or not...so now he holds on to that playful spirit because it was something he missed having for a while- (hnn might write a Diavolo angst piece we shall see we shall see I don’t wanna hurt my baby!-)

Solomon

A Cracked Mirror- actually for once not going to make fun of Solomon and say he’s bad luck just his cooking but rather where this superstition started- a Greek foretelling strategy of catoptromancy (the use of a reflective object/surface to tell the future), where looking into a mirror or bowl of water would reveal a person’s soul- if the reflection was cracked, it symbolized the person’s soul being damaged- now I don’t know about you guys but being immortal sounds like a lot of opportunity for pain- it’s not like a cracked mirror is impossible to fix, but it takes time and patience, and if MC can show him that then maybe- maybe he can lower his guard a bit and let them in so they can help him rebuild what may be broken for now. 

Simeon

White Marble- mostly pure white, with streaks of grey or black..not everything is clear to or as an angel, just what is “good” and what is “bad” and with enough questioning and trial- marble chips easily..but can also be repaired easily. Is there one clear “right” path?- no and mistakes will be made but they can be fixed...most of the time- (oof this is more abstract than I wanted it to be but fuck it brain juice at 0)

Luke

Flowering Meadow- is this on one of his cards? Idk- but a meadow full of growth, a place to run, a place to let go- there’s no rules in a meadow..just be a kid- Luke has been through a lot and I think its about having room to grow- having room to improve...yeah :3

Overall, their children would learn how to cook, do embroidery, chop wood, doing custom house decorations, and more.

During birthdays, they'd be visited by their uncles and aunts along with their little ones—if they have (you know who they are 😂😂😂)

The children would receive so many gifts—heck, they'd all be spoiled by them especially by Zeke (best uncle award)

They'd also play with the others' children (like they'd always play tag outside while the parents are indoors having a chat 🥺👉👈)

The bickering two would look at him and start pointing at each other and start shouting then glaring at each other—debating again.

Personality-wise they got the temperamental attitude from Eren while the calm demeanor from Mikasa.

Eren would look at the door and see Mikasa standing and giving her an 'um, help?' look.

Mikasa deciding to be mean, smirks and leaves to go to the kitchen and cook.

Eren felt "betrayed" because of her actions (your guy gotta deal with 2 hot headed teens in a phase arguing for some reason)

But Eren managed to calm them down.

They're all calm and collected, the 2 are no longer screaming and Eren began asking questions.

Mikasa decides to take a peek inside to see what's going on now

They'd then start talking about who's wrong and all, and giving a few more minutes, they finally got along.

Mikasa, seeing this, can't help but smile so she finally decided to come inside then looked at their teens and was like, "Glad you got along."

Eren just looked at her—not even bothering to ask why later since she looks happy about it.

Ooooh of course, their reactions when Eren starts snaking his arms around Mikasa's waist and just resting his head on her shoulder in front of the kids.

When they were young, they were just giggling.

It's the fact their children just cares for them even if they had their own lives/families.

So I listened to all of the Side tracks and I thought I’d make a quick summary of each for those who are debating checking them out.

people who say “but these playlists have been out forever” you’re right but I’m fashionably late

They’re listed in order of my personal preference (sorry Virge)

Virgil’s Playlist:

the second-longest at 1h 13 min

pretty much exactly what you’d expect in terms of music- predominantly emo/rock songs

most of the songs seem to be about his past with the Dark Sides and his journey over the course of the series

in my opinion, Virgil’s offers the least new information about his character, as the songs don’t give us much we didn’t already know/wasn’t already implied

my personal favorite songs were Be Calm, Sally’s Song, and Ignorance

my least favorite was Sunrise, Sunset

Even if it was my least-favorite playlist overall, it’s still pretty fun to listen to bc it lowkey slaps

Patton’s Playlist:

the shortest at 1hr 4min

passes the vibe check with acoustic guitar, nostalgia, soft/soothing songs- aura of calm

gives perspective on Patton’s character and outlook on life; there were songs about his tendency to assume the best in people, the love/concern he has for the other Sides, the battles he’s currently fighting with himself/how he’s processing POF, and how he feels about his past mistakes

Like Virgil, there’s not a ton of new information, but Patton’s playlist definitely deepened my understanding and appreciation of him

my favorite song by far was Sad (not really because it was about Virgil- I just really liked the song)

I didn’t have a least-favorite song :D

Remus’s Playlist

as you would expect, this playlist is... odd. It doesn’t stick as tightly to one genre as V and Pat did. I’m atrociously bad at identifying genres but uhh it has alt pop, rock, and lots of synth/electro-pop stuff idk I’m bad at this

Remus’s playlist basically boils down to the recognition that he’s the only Side who’s truly free, and he revels in it. Also he and Roman definitely have some stuff to work out jeez

It’s also really, really funny. I laughed a lot and I was super entertained listening to it because it’s so bizarre and not-PG and Remus

Logan’s playlist has a clearly defined arc(!!) It tells a story that will likely be mirrored in the series proper- Logan’s feelings of being ignored come to a tipping point and he lashes out big-time before he finally begins to accept who he is and stop forcing himself to fit the narrow role of “Logic”

I understand Logan’s thought process more now, I think. What really got me, though, was how much vulnerability his song choices seemed to show, especially in the last few songs or so (I’m rhyming :D)

My favorite songs were Algorhythm, The Watchtower, Streaks, One More Time With Feeling, and Time Adventure

my least favorites were Fitter Happier and Human (the latter mostly bc it’s really, reallllly long)

If you’re a Logan stan (or someone who likes him a normal amount), I cannot recommend his playlist enough

like Logan, there’s some hidden vulnerability that comes to the surface and it’s so wonderful. Janus has always seen himself as the protector at odds with the “Light Sides”, and now that he’s been accepted he doesn’t really know how to deal with the change
