It’s oh so quiet 🤫
It so peaceful until……
Our two faves are quiet. I am taken this as a beautiful sign of them working and living there life happy together.
As for the adjacent, they are also very quiet. Ant 🐜 is cleaning her IG more reducing even more tags and JD is promoting his play. Nothing special nothing crazy.
The only crazy is straitjacket wearing happenings of Jakolas. OmG! I can understand why there has been a reduction of Lukola social media presence.
The main issue is they tag Jake and Nicola in their bullshit and it is just straight up lies.

And to top it all off you get crazy blind items from who I assume are Antlukes spewing hate to DM about Nicola about the frequency of SM likes. I mean cmon…..FFS
We as a fandom follow our faves because it brings us joy and gives us connection and a place to chat about a common interest.
Perception….the last year was crazy namely last 9 months. Before we knew who A or JD were (I am not sure about you) but I did not follow or look at any of Nic or Luke’s friends profiles.
Until the media labeled, tabloid pushed certain narrative that little sub fandom groups dropped and ran with them, starting to creep, investigate and twist the perception of the real story.
We are fed what we are meant to. But then anyone can write ✍️ a blind item, knowing that it is 💯 inaccurate just to cause chaos. Look at the two recently, one from the SAGs and from DM.
Netflix posted this today

To true….you can destroy the world with your quill. The question is are you willing to believe everything you read or place some faith on common sense and evidence.
I am a common sense evidence kind of gal… my common sense comes to body language and clear signs, that A & JD have just been friends, we are getting fed so many different lines of stimulus from all over the place that it should all just come back to

Our two faves have been consistent in each other’s lives as BFFs for 6 years. They post together and on each other’s grid, you can see and hear the connection in their words and actions.
I hope things stay quiet for there’s and our sake while I love content I prefer them to be at peace.
Things on the horizon…March 27th is when they announce other BAFTAs awards. Manifesting hardcore for Lukola, and if you haven’t voted and can please do.
To finish just a small PSA…..
When I first came on tumblr I had no idea what I was doing. I followed heaps of blogs….mostly those with the names Lukola and Polin in the name. Now as I started blogging my self, and got a bit more savvy, I put notifications on the blogs who I read every day and followed and sometimes scrolled through my FYP. I became complacent and did not know about content on some of the blogs I was following. Nor did interact with them, unfortunately one particular blog which was a big problem was quite rude, and I had no idea.
I guess what I am getting at is if you do not want to be blocked by association or mistaken identity check who you are following before just clicking the button. Just because it says Lukola4evs, does not mean they are kind.
Have a good day 💛🐝

How did you spread your Ko-fi/ comms? I've had a Ko-fi of my own set up for a little over a month now but I'm struggling to get any commissioners. Do you have any tips?
disclaimer: This is what worked for specifically me and my specific situation/style/etc and I don't know your specific audience or how you typically interact with them, so take or leave what I say in terms of what seems like useful or helpful information to your own situation. I do have some more specific advice for you in the back half, just I'm gonna be starting out with the "this worked for me" stuff.
Anyway actual answer/info behind the cut, hah. God, this is so long and only mostly organized, I apologize, I just get INTO it sometimes when I get asked this kind of thing.
First and foremost, for clarity's purpose and all: I have been on the internet for literally twenty-five years and am WELL established in fandom, as well as someone who has been reasonably popular and/or well-known in multiple fandoms on multiple sites at multiple times. There are literally people following me who were reading my stuff ten or fifteen or even the full twenty-five years ago. Given your profile says you're in your twenties I may have LITERALLY been online longer than you have been alive, haha.
So like, I've been at this a minute and have a LOT of experience in engaging and maintaining an active audience because that's a thing I value having and therefore do my best to encourage; it just works best for my process. So if you're feeling a little vexed with the response you're getting, know that this is all coming from a much-experienced Old(tm) who has had issues getting commissions and attention several times themselves and just currently has a decent chunk of followers and a very communicative "yes and" writing style and is, as a writer, WILDLY prolific. Like. WILDLY prolific. Genuinely, I am not trying to brag or talk myself up here or anything, I just straight-up feel like I haven't written at all if I don't break 2k in a day ( and even 2k feels kinda low to me at this point ), and I write EVERY day.
Literally. Literally every day. Like I missed two days after I got COVID and solo-drove four hours and needed to sleep for a week to recover, and I missed one day at the beginning of this month because I was real burned out from writing 32k more than usual last month and just needed to veg for a day. That's it, that is it all. Those are literally the only days that I have not written in like, the past SEVERAL months. Like, the high end of "several", to be clear. Occasionally I have a lighter day and only write a few hundred words, but typically I do somewhere in the range of 2.5-3.5k, and on my more productive days I can break 5 or 6k easy. That is the kind of person that you have asked for advice here, haha. 😅 So like . . . I'm low-key a freak, productivity-wise. Like I am the living embodiment of that one interview where George R.R. Martin is staring at Stephen King with visible fear in his eyes as the dude describes how many billions of pages he writes a day like it's no big.
tl;dr: I write SO. SO. MUCH. So much, and ALSO I have a backlog of something like two million words on AO3 and definitely hundreds of thousands more words under my tags list on here on top of that. People get a LOT of content when they get into me, I am MADE of content. I have built up a lot of momentum over time, that's just what's worked for me personally.
Also I'm cheap, ngl. I'm just--I'm very affordable, Ko-fi-wise. So I am sure that helps, considering!
ANYWAY. Some of this advice is not going to sound relevant to Ko-fi, but it is relevant to how I personally use Ko-fi, so yeah, here we go:
Always remember: everyone on the internet has social anxiety. Yes, even the people who don't actually have social anxiety. Just go into everything assuming most people you meet on here are gonna be shy or nervous or just feel awkward striking up a conversation with you out of the blue, especially if they've never really spoken to you before. It doesn't matter if they don't actually have social anxiety, thinking that way just puts you in a mindframe to be mindful when you're talking to them and being mindful in your communication makes people more comfortable with things like messaging you with questions and the prospect of going through the commission process with you.
Generally just assume the best of people's intentions whenever possible, and when their intentions are clearly not the best, just move on and don't engage. It is a lose-lose situation; you are not gonna convince them of anything and you're just gonna look like a dick to people who don't have the context and leave a sour taste in their mouths. Which, long story short, people are just way more likely to enjoy your stuff and WAY more likely to commission you if you're putting your best foot forward whenever possible. I definitely try not to get too negative on here myself; like I'm not doing any toxic positivity or anything, just I am here to vent some feelings and make some friends and enjoy the process, and I wanna cultivate a setup where other people can benefit from that too.
Link. Link link link. How easy is it to find your Ko-fi link? Make it easier than that. Keep it in your pinned post and on the front page of your actual blog and in your back pocket and stapled to your sleeve. When you post a commission, link your commission info in the description. When you talk about your art in general, link your commission info in the body of the text--like for example, "I'm trying to use my Ko-fi more" or "I finished up my last commission, I have some slots open again". ( used my own Ko-fi links for reference here, obviously, hah, but specifically linking to your main page OR just straight to your actual commissions page are both useful options. linking your main page introduces you as a person more effectively, while linking straight to your commissions page removes a step for people and makes it easier for them to find the info they're looking for. )
Communicate! Remind people that your Ko-fi/your commissions exist every now and then. Like, definitely not daily or weekly, but depending on how often you update your blog in general, maybe once every month or couple of months give people a heads up if you've got commission slots open/available. That way they're not awkwardly peering at the pinned post you put up months ago wondering if you're still actively open or just forgot it was in your pinned, and also it gives a heads up to people who might've been thinking about or meaning to commission you that you're available for work.
Post consistently in general; not just about commissions or Ko-fi, obviously, just like making yourself available and open to people and hanging out WITH people. Answer as many asks as you have the spoons to. Talk about stuff you like and stuff you're excited by and into. Like obviously not everyone can do this but I personally post a lot on here and I definitely UPDATE a lot on here; generally speaking if someone swings by my blog once or twice a week, there's gonna be at least a few hundred to a few thousand words of new stuff for them to read ( or SEVERAL thousand, even ). Or to look at, when I'm feeling arty.
Answers asks and make personal posts. Like I'm not saying trauma-dump on your followers or use Tumblr like a diary, definitely, but it's a good idea to give people a bit of an idea about yourself in terms of things like talking about your dog being cute or if you're going to be out of town on vacation or how your process works or just new or different things that you're trying out/experimenting with/interested in. Bluntly put, you want people to remember you are a person who wants to hang out with them and not just a Content Generator to be "liked" and then scrolled on past, and you want to engage with them and try to talk to them when they talk to you and generally be, like, approachable. In my case I just do my best to assume the best of every interaction and try to notice who's regularly popping up in my notifs and remember what I can about them. This does not always work for me because my memory is swiss cheese, but I do what I can there because I very much appreciate people engaging with my stuff ( and also my me, haha ) and I think communicating that kind of thing to people usually makes them feel good, and in turn you feel better about what you're doing and how people are responding to your work, and then you're more motivated TO work and maybe they catch some mistakes for you or have good ideas that vastly, VASTLY improve what you had in mind. The circle of fandom! The life cycle of a WIP!!
Which leads us into: you need to be doing things that are very recognizably You(tm) and cannot just be picked up for free just any random anywhere. Which like, that can be an issue with fanart, obviously, because the internet is FULL of free fanart, so what you probably want is to be looking to court people who are looking for art of their fics/AUs or their own original characters. Like your style is very distinctive for sure, that's definitely a good thing, so leaning into your personal interpretations of characters is a good idea, and it does look like you're doing that with the stuff of yours I've seen. I would just say lean into your own designs and own little quirks of styling and stuff you really love to draw and go hard on all of it. Once you really feel it out, the stuff you are REALLY vibing with is the stuff that is gonna resonate with people the most significantly in the long run, in my experience. Even if it doesn't always get the same level of response as less niche stuff does, it'll very likely get a more DEVOTED response, and people who'll come back for more of it. I did not write so dang much of Darcy Lewis in my MCU days because her fans were uninvested in seeing new content for her, put it that way.
Also, I AM in fact cheap; I have a few different price options on my Ko-fi and two-thirds of them are five bucks or under. The nature of how I personally do Ko-fi means I'm adding words to already-established stories, though, so people are coming in invested and more willing to donate so they can find out what happens next. Which, like, is obviously not something that works with art commissions, unless you're doing something like "when I hit this donation goal I will draw the next page of this comic script I have written in thanks for hitting the goal". But honestly, sometimes doing a limited amount of projects and getting people interested/invested in said projects is more cost-effective in terms of your time and energy and less overwhelming than doing a million different things all at once. Plus it gets your audience more story to chew on in the long run and I have NEVER met anyone who complained about a fuller narrative happening to them.
Mind, I don't actually know if you're the comic-making type, comics are just the first example I thought of, but also you do have to make sure you're giving people enough content to be invested in to begin with. Sticking with the comic example, people aren't gonna donate to see more of a comic if they don't know they LIKE your comics, so doing some shorter ones and posting a nice selection of those first and THEN doing a donation goal is more respectful of your audience because you're clearly actively interested in them and want to make things you can share with them, not just, like, collect their Ko-fi donos, and at the same time it's also just better advertisement for you. Ethical marketing, basically; there's plenty of content you shared freely, and you're also posting the things that get crowdfunded for everyone to see and not paywalling anything, and ideally building some community and making some friends along the way. Which, like, obviously substitute whatever works for you for "comic" here; I personally just find having overarching narratives/stories/settings helps people get invested and enjoy themselves more with your stuff, and also be likelier to REMEMBER your stuff. Come up with an AU, do some little comics or illustrations in it or some design work for it. Just make a thing that is very specifically YOU and what you like.
On that note: get niche. Get weird. You REALLY don't wanna be making stuff that is not as You(tm) as possible and can just be picked up anywhere. You wanna make the kind of stuff where people go "I wanna see more like this, fuck, who else is even MAKING this, alright OP please do me a solid and have more of this on your blog--fuck YEAH you do, look at all this, okay I live here now". In fandom terms: yes, everyone loves Timkon, Timkon'll get likes, it'll probably even get comments, but if you really want to find the diehards who are gonna lock in and ENGAGE, you wanna make sure you also do the niche shit that you're telling yourself everyone else is gonna think is too weird or just not be interested in. Shut up, imposter syndrome, people LOVE weird! People WANT weird, this is fandom, we're a largely queer subculture that's reclaiming our modern mythologies from capitalism, we're not here for the normie shit! We'd be rereading canon again if we just wanted the normie shit!
Seriously, being openly weird and leaning into said weird is a VERY definite reason that people recognize and remember my writing as opposed to, like, just consuming it and moving on without even noticing there was an author involved. If people vibe real hard with the themes you get really into working with or really like the unique parts of your style/voice or appreciate the way you handle certain subjects/characters/weird niche shit, they're a lot likelier to remember you and either come back or just stick around from the start. Like attracts like and your "like" will be delighted to have found you, and you will get to enjoy the benefits of BEING found by your fellow niche weirdos and all be thriving together! Everyone wins!
Also, I have some more specifically tailored practical advice/critique that is based off my immediate reactions to what I saw when I clicked over to your blog/Ko-fi, which definitely take with a grain of salt because I am giving it without being familiar with your process/situation/audience and from a different position. I'm just trying to be less general and offer some stuff that might be more specifically useful to you. So like, please feel free to hit me up in DMs or asks if you wanna talk about any of this in more detail or get some clarification on anything I'm saying here, this is just what I've got from my initial impressions and off the dome.
Also-also, again, this is all based on what's worked for me personally, so I'm sure there's some stuff that might not be applicable to or just not vibe with you because of that. So like please don't take this as me trying to smack down what you've been doing so far or anything, I'm just trying to be thorough in building on it and also, like, my graphic design experience definitely slipped into some of this, hah.
So to start I took a quick look at your blog to see how easy it was to find your Ko-fi and then a quick peek at your Ko-fi itself to see how it was set up. I found your Ko-fi immediately, which was good! Having it in both your bio and your pinned is definitely the right idea. I did have to expand your bio to find the link that was listed in there, which not everyone will do while scrolling past, but that's just like, nitpicking on my part since you do have the pinned post directly beneath it. I just am very much "make literally everything as easy as possible for everyone ever in every possible way".
It'd probably be helpful to mention that you're open for commissions in the "about" on your Ko-fi's front page so people don't have to scroll too far or click any links to find that out/have that confirmed. You may also wanna either slim down the descriptions in your commissions listings or break them up into paragraphs; you wanna do your best to avoid big solid blocks of text because people are likelier to only skim those and therefore less likely to absorb the information.
Skimming is also bad because it means people are less likely to notice that something you're describing appeals to them, and are way MORE likely to end up confused. "Confused" ups the chances that they just decide they don't wanna bother you by asking for clarification, given they might feel stressed by asking or pressured to buy or just like they're bothering you.
Avoiding text blocks is also just gonna make your descriptions wayyyyy easier to read for people who are dyslexic or have vision problems or possibly didn't learn English as their first language ( depending on their fluency for that last one, obviously, but you never know so yeah ). Basically you wanna make the commission process as quick and effortless and A-to-B as possible for people; your goal is "how can I make this process as close to one-click shopping for people?" Your goal is to become the Occam's Razor of commissions.
Your promo sheet on Tumblr I'd say could be an issue in the sense that it's a little difficult to read; you want people to not have to think about it to clock it as what it is. I only immediately knew it was a commissions sheet because I went in looking for one, and you want people to INSTANTLY know it is a commissions sheet. Like, before they even process anything about it, they should have the instinctive recognition of "this is a commissions sheet" and be primed to read a commissions sheet.
The main issue I see is that the sheet's layout is pretty dense and lacks visual flow in its composition; the prices are scattered and the font on the header is hard to read at a glance; my reflexive assumption from the moment it took to recognize it as text and the overall layout of the graphic was that it was a border, not a header. And like, I figured it out like half a second later, yeah, but that first couple of seconds can disorient or confuse people or just make them just scroll by without stopping to read, because it's not a tall image and the image is ALWAYS your best chance to catch somebody's eye, especially when deliberately going for art commissions.
The first thing I actually read off the sheet was "X no NSFW GORE", which I was initially unclear on the meaning of and had to reread to realize what you meant, but either way is not the first thing you want me to read; it should definitely be on the sheet and very visible, but not positioned to be the first thing someone's eye goes to. It belongs off to the side in a lower corner or just over on the right-hand side. Right now it's too high and too emphasized in comparison to the actual header, which is very much what you WANT people reading first.
There's almost no negative space on the sheet and some of the example art you've included is shrunk down so small that it's REALLY hard to read unless you've seen the larger pieces before, so I think considering doing two or three complementing slides so you can spread out your offerings/pricing and make your examples bigger would really be helpful there. I think it's a really good idea to include multiple pieces as examples, it shows your range and makes it clear what people are gonna be getting for their money; that's definitely the way to go imo. You just also wanna be sure that people can see the details and get the full vibe of your art and the work you put into it. Like, I REALLY love that pic of Match you have down at the bottom, full disclosure I realize we have like never spoken but it is literally my phone background and has been since the day I first saw it ( my lock screen being the complementing Kon pic, natch ), but you can't see any of the cool little details I know are in it with it shrunk down that small. I wanna see his eyes and the detail in his hair and the phone cord wrapped around his throat and the heart freckles, I LOVE those dang heart freckles! And like, those are also interesting little quirks and creative things that will make people think, "oh, I like how that looks, if I commission this person I'll get a cool pose or creative styling or fun details out of it!", so they are definitely the kind of thing you should make sure to show off when you are showing off your work.
I personally tend to go for vertical posts over horizontal ones, given Tumblr is meant to be scrolled and it's more important that people's eyes get caught by something in the scrolling process than that your graphic expands across the screen in the best fit; a lot of people won't even click on the image to expand it anyway. You do want to make sure it'll stay readable if they DO click, of course, so I'd personally recommend stacking two or three horizontally-composed sheets on top of each other to make the POST'S composition vertical. Scrolling down is how people traverse this site; you want to lean into presentations that read well when they're being scrolled down.
The accompanying text below the actual sheet is also not as neatly balanced/formatted as it could be, so it looks less . . . hm, less INTENTIONAL, maybe? Less thought-out than it could be, at least. It makes it harder to read at first glance and doesn't give off a professional vibe. Using bullet points or indents or headers can help with that kind of thing and just make it easier for the eye to follow along and for people to read/focus on what you're saying. ESPECIALLY when you're doing promos/price lists you want to have the most stripped-down and functional version of the text you can manage. You wanna get your point across as clear and succinct as you can and make sure there's negative space around your text so the words can be read quickly and the text itself can breathe, visually-speaking. Negative space is your friend.
Yes I realize talking about the VISUALS of text is a little weird but listen man, you're an artist, you get what I'm saying here. You wanna make the actual first-glance look of your text aesthetically appealing and easy to follow through at the pace and in the order you want it followed. Which like, takes some practice, obviously, but again, I have been here for twenty-five years, haha. Just this is a very visual site and very scroll-oriented, so you wanna do your best to be eye-catching! That's why I frequently post my finished fics with a little accompanying image, just to make sure they stick out to people in the tags.
uhhhhh okay this was a lot, lol, sorry for dumping a ton of info all at once there, but hopefully some of it will be helpful to you! Even if some of it probably sounds weird and way too concerned with curb appeal, haha. Sometimes you just gotta put in some grind and build your momentum, sometimes it's really just that; in the meantime, just try to be approachable and enjoy yourself! If you build it, they will come.

I would like to address an elephant in the room.
I've kind of reached my tipping point with the amount of slurs that people seem to feel completely comfortable using derogatorily in this fandom, so long as it's in the name of 'in-character' roleplaying.
I don't feel like calling anyone specific out, but these people will know who they are, and what's more, I'm sure that most people who are familiar with the plethora of It fandom tags that I've also used are unfortunately very familiar with these accounts.
Let me be clear: while personally, I do not have a strongly negative opinion of reclaiming slurs, there is a big difference between 'reclaiming', which overwhelmingly is seen as a process of taking back words and redefining them, and just straight up using a slur the exact same way a homophobic (or anything else) person would use them.
It is not okay to use the F slur, for example, as a derogatory term. This is a hard line that we must not cross, because no matter what, it is a term that has been used in the past and will continue to be used in the future as a way of discriminating against or otherwise insulting people.
Even if you want to defend yourself by saying that it is simply in-character roleplay, I would encourage you to take a step back and try to figure out why exactly perpetuating homophobia (which is what you're doing, for the record, if you use a slur derogatorily, no matter the context) is something that you must do, particularly in a public space, without any trigger warnings.
At the very least, trigger warnings are a must, particularly if you insist on using harmful words in public. I understand that in the current year most people are somewhat removed from such a thing as homophobic or otherwise LGBTphobic bullying and/or harassment -- which is a wonderful concept, to be sure! However, that does not mean that all of us are so lucky. Many people have trauma resulting from such kinds of bullying and/or harassment and would appreciate at least a tag that they can avoid, rather than having to walk on eggshells because of a lack of consideration by others.
I think this also holds true for any other slurs you might see people using, but I'm picking my battles where they need to be picked.
As a side note, I think that whether you as an individual feel comfortable reclaiming slurs or being around people who do so is entirely up to yourself, and no one can tell you what to feel or how to act about something that is so intensely personal.
Personally, I have participated in reclaiming slurs that have been used as insults for myself in the past, and to some extent do this even now, although much less often. However, I specifically do not use these slurs in public -- whether in real life or online -- because there is no guarantee that people who overhear or read your public message are not going to take it as A) you genuinely saying the slur as an insult or B) a go-ahead to use the slur as an insult.
I will again state though that it is ultimately your choice to reclaim or to not reclaim slurs, although I will reiterate that I believe that it is actively harmful to use these slurs derogatorily, and I do not think that it is a personal choice but instead a moral failing to use slurs derogatorily or to insult other people.
Sincerely, someone who was beaten up many, many times in school for being any number of slurs that people have now decided it is okay to use derogatorily even as part of those marginalised groups.

One thing that made me stop believing that Taekook is real was when Taehyung posted that Taekook Dream photo on his IG only to be seen going on a late night date with Jennie in Paris a few days after. It made me feel like he posted that TK photo on purpose to feed shippers and keep them occupied while he went to Paris with the person whom he was really in a relationship with.
I know you also think the video was real and not edited in any ways and definitely those were not cosplayers, but then you seemed to convince yourself that everything was just media play even when it was clear that Paris walk was a "soft launch".
I never questioned the bond that Taekook have. We can all see how close they are. I would have love to think it was more than a platonic relationship, but their dating rumors are telling me otherwise and Paris was the last straw for me.
I think Taekook do fanservice as a way to help each other cover up as to whom they are really dating. They do stuff like the Wooga ring, Hello Kitty plushie, the ILY sign, the stares etc etc to feed shippers so when dating rumors emerge, no one would believe in those rumors. Do I make sense?
Hi anon!
I don’t really feel like having yet another conversation about why I feel Taennie isn’t real. I mean, look through my tag system and you’ll find everything I have said on it in the past. I will say something on why I don’t feel you make sense though.
You’re basically contradicting yourself. You think it was a soft launch, but at the same time Tae needed to use Jk to hide his relationship with Jennie. When you soft launch something, you don’t also try to hide it. To me it also makes no sense at all for him to use a rumored queer relationship to hide a straight one. We’re talking about a hugely homophobic country here.
I think your thoughts are heavily based in heteronormative thinking. Because Jk and Tae are just as much a rumored relationship as any of the straight rumored ones. Theirs is the only rumored one though in which we have gotten actual organic clues from (opposed to Taennie which was all fed to us from outsiders).
I would like you to think about this… All throughout his career Tae has been given the narrative of weird/outsider/alienish. When he was a rookie he wasn’t allowed to be visible with the other members until their debut. He then was said to be quirky. His friendships outside of BTS were somewhat used to set him aside. His talk with Jk in ITS was edited in a way that made him look like the one who caused a rift; using his mental health issues. AYS once again put him in a narrative of being a guest.. amongst two people he is super close with. What effect do you think Taennie has had on his image…? It’s once again something that’s made him stand aside. It’s something that for Army’s made him connected to Blinks. It made him part of a dating scandal. In the wider context, Taennie is just another narrative Hybe stuck to him to make him susceptible to fandom criticism.
You are free to think Jk thought about ways to trick shippers before doing his first live in a year.. and came up with the brilliant idea of the Hello Kitty plush.. which ofcourse he made sure to pack up in a convenient place just for this occasion before moving house. I am however convinced that the plushie actually means something to him.

HOW DO ANY HOMOPHOBIC MORTAL KOMBAT FANS EVEN EXIST?? DID Y'ALL JUST NOT PAY ATTENTION TO KUNG JIN, MILEENA AND TANYA IN MKX? OR MILEENA IN MK11? OR MILEENA AND TANYA IN MK1??
EDIT :
Kung Jin is a confirmed gay man, Mileena is confirmed to be bisexual. (I'm unsure if Tanya is also bisexual or if it's unconfirmed yet.) They are explicitly stated. So, only three characters, out of hundreds of named Mortal Kombat characters, are confirmed to be queer.
It's clear nobody is 'forcing' anything, or 'making everything LGBTQ+', because those three examples are the only canon characters apart of our community. You can just block the ship tags, the lgbtq tag, or the people who post that art / fanfictions, you're making a huge issue out of something that takes less seconds to solve than putting on a sock.
If a character has a spouse and kids, it's in no way confirming that they're straight. To believe that is ignoring the bisexual people in real life who have children and a spouse, it's ignoring the fact that bisexual is attraction to all genders, including the opposite, and if a bisexual person wants kids? That's great! It doesn't make them any less bisexual.
It's rather disingenuous to claim you 'have no issue' with our community, but then turn around and be genuinely disgusted or even angry when ships or headcanons are made about us.
It's telling when you only focus on the LGBTQ+ aspect of that headcanon or ship. It's telling when you, only after the post is made and you're rightfully getting harmless criticisms, mention cishet ships and headcanons offhandedly because 'look guys! I'm not homophobic!' Even though you never actually mention what ships or headcanons you dislike, just that you dislike a few.
Unless they're LGBTQ+. In which case you go in vivid detail, you describe how frustrated you get, how it's clearly 'new fans' despite the fact that queer people and their ships + headcanons have been a part of fandom space, since fandoms existed.
To bring up past timelines when you're specifically referring to Mortal Kombat 1 is plain stupidity, Liu Kang changed Tarkat from a species to a disease, it's not hard to believe a character could be trans or gay when before they were hinted otherwise.
It proves that, for you, it's not about shipping or headcanons, or new fans, or fandoms in itself. It's about the fact that our community is gaining acceptance, we're being seen as normal, because we are normal, and we shouldn't be treated as 'it NEEDS to be confirmed to be true.' But for cishet people? Oh, EVERY character is cishet, that's just the 'default'.
Oh, and, by the way, it isn't 'good representation' if you can't actually tell if the character isn't cishet/allo, if it takes years for you to realise Kung Jin is gay, that means his queerness was written badly, which it was. If straight men characters get to flirt with women, and straight women characters get to flirt with men, why can't men flirt with other men, or women flirt with other women?
If cis male characters get to talk about their bodies, and cis female characters talk about their bodies, why can't transgender characters talk about being transgender or how it affects their bodies?
If your audience needs to go to a twitter post or ask around to check what your character's sexuality/gender is, you've quite literally just failed at writing.
Beside that, there's nothing wrong with believing a character is straight or cis, either! Just, don't be awful to those who believe differently, don't send threats, just because somebody believes a character is a part of our community.

First fic tag game
I was tagged by @pennyplainknits - thank you! ❤️
Rules: Pick a fandom and post an excerpt of the first thing you ever wrote in that fandom. Could be a scene, part of a scene, a couple of lines, whatever your first foray into writing for that fandom was. Feel free to include a link to the story it comes from if it’s been published (excerpts from WIPs count too).
Man, I wish I could delight all of you with the absolutely horrible Wolfstar fic I started and abondoned at fifteen, or the Angel self-inserts I co-wrote with a school friend in a notebook that we swapped back and forth. Sadly, none of these incredible works have been preserved for posterity, so it'll need to be Someone who cares, my first Steddie fic. Snippet under the cut. Some zero-pressure tags here: @sourw0lfs, @vecnuthy @wynnyfryd
He is so lost in his own thoughts that he barely notices when Eddie gives a heavy sigh, sets his bottle down and straightens up in his seat.
“Hey, Steve?”
Steve snaps back to the present with a small flinch and lightly shakes his head to clear it.
“Huh? Wha-” he starts to say, but doesn’t get any further.
Because his mind abruptly goes blank.
Because, suddenly, there is one fluid blur of movement and then the only thing he knows is that Eddie is straddling his lap.
Because Eddie’s hands are suddenly in his hair and his lips are sliding against Steve’s.
Steve feels his entire body go rigid with surprise. He opens his mouth to - say something? Let out a gasp? He doesn’t even know, really. It also doesn't matter, because Eddie doesn’t waste a second, just parts his own lips, gives Steve’s hair a firm pull to angle his head just perfectly, and licks straight into his mouth, like he’s trying to devour him.
Someone lets out a low, breathy moan and it takes Steve a second or two to recognize his own voice.
Eddie, the coy little bastard, grins against his mouth. Then, he bites down on Steve’s bottom lip. Not hard, just a hint of teeth that has Steve hiss in surprise and sends an electric shock down his spine, makes heat pool rapidly in his groin. His head is spinning. His hands, desperate for something to ground himself, twitch helplessly in the air for a second before they come to rest on Eddie’s hips.
Eddie flicks his tongue over the spot he just bit, his fingernails and rings scraping against Steve’s scalp. And then he ducks his head down and suddenly his mouth is on Steve’s neck, sucking and licking and biting on every available inch of skin.
“Eddie, what-” Steve’s voice comes out as a low groan. His head falls against the backrest of the chair, which is somehow both a great and a terrible idea, because it gives Eddie perfect access to his throat. He rises to the occasion by licking a long, firm stripe from bottom to top and laughs lightly when Steve squirms. Little puffs of air tickle over the sensitive skin. Eddie’s shirt has ridden up with the movement and Steve digs his nails into skin for dear life.
Eddie makes a soft shushing noise and brushes Steve’s hair back with nimble fingers. He scatters kisses and gentle nips over his jaw, then uses his teeth to sharply tug on his earlobe. Steve’s hips twitch up involuntarily and he moans again. He’s half-hard already, he notices with a flush of embarrassment and, shit, with how close they are, there’s no way of hiding it from Eddie. Not with how his body seems to be developing a mind of its own, bucking and grinding and seeking contact.
Eddie chuckles against his ear, a deep, humming sound that comes from his chest and reverberates all through Steve’s body.
“Ah, you like this, don't ya, big boy?” he practically purrs. “You’ve been wanting to do this for a while, huh?”

thank you for the tag @glitter-stained :]
Fic Writer Ask Game
1) How many works on Ao3?
33
[fun fact there used to be 2 more but they're gone now. lost media.]
2) Total Ao3 wordcount?
161,906
3) Top 5 fics by kudos
lies of omission
Something's Wrong with Jason Todd
homicidal tendencies
admonition
Unfortunate Circumstances
4) What fandoms do you write for?
27 - DCU/Batfam (26 are about Jason Todd)
3 - Moon Knight (2 of the show adaptation, 1 for comics)
3 - Wings of Fire
it's been jason todd for like 7 months straight at this point, but I do want to come back around to marvel eventually + wings of fire is like a sleeper agent that awakens every now and then and forces me to write another angsty oneshot about a children's book series. also i'm reading more non-bat dcu characters so maybe !! one day we'll get something there.
lots of unposted fics as well about ocs i have in various media (among us, hollow knight, rain world, etc.)
5) Do you respond to comments?
i am extremely inconsistent about this, but i do try! i do definitely read & cherish all of them though <3
6) Angstiest ending?
um. first instinct is protocol. because i do have other fics that end in very angsty ways but they're in like... 'hey remember this canon thing that happened? i'm gonna frame it in a way that hurts even worse' ways, while protocol innovated new and exciting pain.
7) Fic with the happiest ending?
why is my catalogue compressed misery who let this happen hang on. i think redux is the closest to a happy ending and even that is just the promise of joy on the horizon. maybe i need to be adding more fluffy codas to my works.
Something's Wrong with Jason Todd has a happy ending i think but also i am holding that fic at an arm's length still so i'm not rereading it to double check.
8) Do you get hate?
not off the top of my head, no! lies of omission gets a lot of people cursing out the characters (bruce, babs, and most recently cass) and i'm worried one day they'll figure out that it's me forcing said characters to do these things and redirect all the negative energy at me (joking)
9) Do you write smut?
nope.
10) Do you write crossovers?
no, but writing for comic characters is trying to wrangle 3 separate canons into something cohesive at all times, so it probably replicates the experience well enough, lol. i certainly think about crossovers often, and maybe one day one of my more well-formed concepts could make it onto a page.
11) Ever had a fic stolen?
i think the answer to this is no but i'm weirdly uncertain?? i know my art has absolutely been stolen so maybe i'm thinking of that instead.
12) Have you ever had a fic translated?
nope, but i've had someone ask if they could, so maybe that'll happen one day?
13) Have you ever co-written a fic?
yes! honestly it might have been more than once but the one that comes to mind is... i believe it was called Mirage, and i could dig it up if i really tried (which i will not be doing so). it was a future dystopian wings of fire fanfic that i think we got about seven chapters into and there was a general embarrassing lack of coordination between us lol.
anyway the person i was writing it with later revealed that they were multiple people using the same account and i'm still not entirely clear on which of said multiple people was actually writing it with me. you think you know a guy.
i would love to cowrite something again. it sounds like a lot of fun. does anyone want to roleplay with me and turn our transcript into a fic-- (also used to do a lot of roleplaying!! those were the days <3)
14) All-time favourite ship?
my wings of fire ocs. canary/aethon they're both fucked up and their relationship was a messy messy thing even before canary got themself blown up (don't worry about it) and it's even worse now. they're the dragons in my pinned post and i think the fact that aethon is killing canary there helps you get an idea of what their relationship is like. also acanthus is there and unwillingly part of the world's worst polycule.
for favorite ship that people might be more familiar i'm gonna have to go with marc spector x greer grant nelson (although jayroy might be edging them out for the top spot. it's hard to tell rn but jayroy has the benefit of a large fanbase throwing more propaganda in my direction.)
sorry thinking all the time about how marc's last words were him apologizing to greer because he promised he'd come back, and greer planning to break a god out of prison just to bring marc back, and neither of them were the 'first' for each other but that devotion is genuine. how greer first came back into marc's life as a way of monitoring him and he knew this and the way he betrays her trust and lies to her face later and they talk through these issues!! they make it work!! god. i lvoe them. i should probably figure out what their ship name is at some point.
15) WIPS you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
something shaped like brotherhood. fucking HATE that thing. it's um. from back in november. it was supposed to be part of what crawled out. let's not talk about it.
okay actually i will talk about it a little bit. the issue with that fic is that the plan for it was far too ambitious for my understanding of dc canon at the time and now that i do understand it slightly better, i don't think i could write it in a way that feels satisfying and true to the characters without wildly reworking how all of it works, and at this point i have other vague plans and concepts that hit similar emotional notes/plot points that i'd rather work on instead. like i guess i don't want to finish sslb itself but i do want to do things with its concepts and i'm sad that i can't reuse what i actually drafted for it without having to do major rehauls.
+ i do like the general concept for what crawled out. and i do want to finish the series but it's ughughhg. unlikely at this point. especially since i'm now rehashing similar beats in other fics.
anyway here's one of a couple theoretical summaries for it that have been Sitting There. Abandoned.
Red Hood slams onto the scene in Gotham in a meticulous, extravagant demonstration of violence. Nightwing disappears off Bludhaven's streets as everything that defines him crumbles into ash. These two things are, for the most part, unrelated.
there are fics that i really want to write and know that i realistically am unable to ever get done (cough cough suicide watch) but i'm still in denial about that and am chipping away at that monster very very slowly. if i just believein myself hard enough.
16) Writing strengths?
i like to think i'm good at dialogue + giving the narration a Distinct Voice. i love my limited third person pov that is filtered through a specific character's perspectives and beliefs!!
also TRUST that i am good at imagery. please. i know i don't dip into the flowery figurative language bucket often but i know that when i do, i do it well! i should do it more honestly. look out. i'm gonna personification all of your phenomenon.
17) Writing weaknesses?
i am weak on action scenes unfortunately :( i hate having to research and meticulously put a scene together and i think it shows a little when i vaguely navigate my way through a scene while describing minimum possible things going on. i'm gonna be entirely real. i forget how to write humans sometimes. i don't know how these bodies work despite living in one. it's what i get for being exclusively into a dragon book series for like 6 years straight.
like i genuinely believed if i watched more shows/movies with fight scenes i'd be better and more confident at blocking them out. anything including the characters doing more movement than waving their hands around a little makes me Struggle.
18) Thoughts on mixed language dialogue?
hmm i don't have any strong feelings. the way i speak at home is a fucking mess of chinese & english so like yes i can see multilingual characters speaking this way, though it's only in pretty specific scenarios (like with family that also knows all languages involved). and as a reader i'm always a little excited when the writer starts blending in a language i Sort Of know so i can guesstimate at the meaning and then check the translation to see how far i got. + when people don't include translates but write the narration around it so you get the gist of conversation anyway is very fun. little endearments & nicknames (mijo, baobao) are neat. <3
but it's also like i do think if you're writing in other languages you do need to put in the work to make sure you're translating things correctly & sprinkling in the words in a way that would actually be natural for the speaker. (ex. damian calling jason 'akhi' -- akhi means 'my brother' so saying 'his akhi' just... is not right. and i've seen posts i can't find now about how that's formal arabic no one actually uses to address their siblings? take that part with a grain of salt i don't know any arabic & i'm repeating things from memory.)
19) First fandom you wrote for?
wings of fire!! my love for this children's book series about dragons truly knows no bounds. but i've also written entirely original writing back in like... fourth grade, or so. i was nine at the time, i do know that. i have an entire completed story about this girl named lokia born of the goddess of spring who had to go on an adventure to defeat the winter god after he kidnapped her mom. she met a cloud named fluff on her adventures. apparently it's titled Seasons and Dragonflies, and i actually managed to dig it up so have a lil excerpt:
“The blizzard is enchanted,” said Fluff. “It’s special.” The blizzard sprayed snow everywhere. Fluff charged into it and was whirled around by the storm, and thrown to the ground. “Oww…” said Fluff painfully. Lokia thought about what she was carrying. She knew she couldn’t destroy the blizzard with a sword. Suddenly she knew what to do. Taking out a few dry sticks, she poured the last of the fire onto the sticks. The flame flickered, then started burning the sticks. The blizzard felt the heat and melted, fell gently, like rain, and disappeared into the snow. The fire flickered and was also gone. Lokia and Fluff entered the palace with caution.
that's the solution guys just melt the blizzard.
unsure what my first wings of fire fic would be. it's almost certainly deleted by now.
20) Favourite fic you've ever written?
one that is not on ao3... it's about aforementioned wings of fire ocs <3 whom i love dearly, and it's titled A Thousand Words We Never Said. here's an excerpt from it. my writing was Worse than it is now but the Heart of it. the CONCEPTS. they're Killing Me. and each other, apparently.
"You're distracted." It wasn't a question, but she offered a shrug anyway. "Too busy daydreaming about your pretty eyes." They were dark brown, rich, deeper than the night sky that glinted before them. They ignored her. Fair enough. "It's compromising your ability to fight." "Oh, we both know that doesn't matter. We'll just keep sparring, and I'll beat you next time." "I'll kill you, one of these days." Their eyes flickered towards her, without the slightest shift of their head. "I'll forget, or I'll overestimate you." She hummed, because there was nothing else to add, because it was true, because it ran both ways and it was just as likely that she'd be the one tearing a chunk out of their throat one day.
um for fic that you can actually read. compound fracture. ossification series in general i am very fond of compared to most of my other output.
no pressure tags: @birdieisnotwriting @havenesc @helsingvania @haithhegimp @just-a-random-dungeon-master + all my other beloved mutuals and anyone else who may want to join in!!

Chapter Nine: Nightjars
Jason waited on the roof, swinging his feet as he sat on the ledge. The black of night and lights of Gotham shone beneath him. He tilted his head back and looked up into the sky at the darkness as a familiar wave of sadness and fear washed over him. He took a few deep breaths, trying to pull himself together.
It wasn't like he was scared of being home alone. He kept trying to tell himself that, but the way his hands shook after waking up from another one of his nightmares said otherwise. "Hey, got space enough for two?" a voice asked. It didn't startle him in the way that it usually would have.
"I'm not gonna jump. I'm just waiting for my sister to get home," Jason mumbled.
"You say that like your sister is Batgirl," he chuckled as he sat next to Jason. Jason turned to him, and he gasped.
"You're the Boy—. Robin. You're him," Jason whispered, "Did she tell you to come here?"
"So she is your sister? And no, I'm just in town. Thought I'd stop by," Dick smiled, "And thanks for not calling me the Boy Wonder. I'm a little old for that. Why are you waiting for her up here?"
Jason tried to conceal his trembling hands as he spoke. "Pop's out of town... It just feels weird knowing he's not in Gotham, so I'm watching from up here until she gets back," Jason explained himself.
"How long have you been—? It's none of my business. If she wanted me—."
"Almost five months. Didn't really think I'd be here this long, but they feel like family," Jason confessed. A breeze blew past, and Jason shivered.
"Come on, I'll make us an omelet," Dick whispered, "You like eggs?"
Jason nodded and followed Dick back to the apartment. They climbed into Barbara's window, and Dick went straight to the kitchen as if he'd been there before. "Who are you?" Jason asked.
"She really didn't tell you?" Dick asked. Jason shook his head. "Well, if she trusts you... Dick Grayson." Dick held out his hand, and Jason shook it.
"Jason Todd... Or Gordon. Not really sure how the name thing's gonna work long-term... People really call you Dick?" Jason asked. Dick nodded as he took off his gloves and mask and set them on the counter.
"So, Jason... What's it like having Barbara as a sister?" Dick smiled. He cracked a few eggs and chopped up some peppers and sausage.
"I thought I was stubborn, but I think she's got me beat," Jason replied, "But I've never had a sister before, so I dunno... Maybe they're all like this."
"Nobody's like Babs, trust me on that," Dick replied, "But yeah... Stubborn. That's her."
"But she's also a good friend," Jason whispered.
"Oh, boys. Now, who's gonna tell me I'm pretty?" Barbara asked. Dick and Jason turned to her. "What are you doing here?"
"When were you gonna tell me you had a little brother?" Dick asked. Barbara messed up Jason's hair.
"I would've told you the next time we talked... Jason, what are you doing up?" she asked.
"Having an omelet with your friend, Dick," Jason answered casually, and Barbara cleared her throat. "I couldn't sleep, so I went up on the roof to wait for you."
Silence fell over the kitchen, and Jason looked at both of them. "Who's taller? You or Wonder Girl?" Jason asked.
"Which one of us are you asking?" Dick replied.
"You say that like Barbie knows Wonder Girl," Jason replied. Barbara sighed.
"Barbie?" Dick grinned.
"Don't start," Barbara went into the fridge and poured herself a glass of juice.
"I'm taller. Not by much," Dick answered.
"How many questions can I ask before it gets weird?" Jason questioned.
"Um, you can ask what—."
"He can ask three questions, eat his omelet, and go to bed," Barbara interrupted. Jason stuck his tongue out at her. "Three."
"Fine. How old were you when you started out as Robin?" Jason asked.
"Don't answer that," Barbara chimed in, and Jason opened his mouth to argue.
Dick chuckled as he asked, "Why? How old are you?"
"Thirteen," Jason replied.
"I was around your age," Dick replied.
"Oh, you just love to start problems, don't you?" Barbara pinched the bridge of her nose. "You know he's never gonna let me hear the end of it." Dick made Jason's plate. "I told Jason I'd train him, but I don't want him out in the field. He's not old enough."
Dick nudged Jason and whispered, "You'll wear her down. It might take a while with her, but if you really want to change her mind, you won't give up."
"I'm not like Batman. He's not gonna wear me down. He's too young," Barbara replied.
"Oh, come on. It's not like you waited until you were an adult to throw on the cape," Dick scoffed. Barbara sat down next to Jason and sighed.
"Did you two used to date?" Jason asked. Barbara and Dick turned to him.
"Eat your omelet," Barbara replied before responding to Dick, and Jason started to eat while they argued. After he finished eating, he lay on the couch and drifted off to sleep. It wasn't until he'd been asleep a whole hour that they'd stopped arguing.
"Look at that," Dick chuckled, "He's out cold." Barbara picked him up and carried him back to his bed before returning to her conversation with Dick. "What's the story?"
"He was living in an abandoned apartment all by himself. Two parents dead, his birth mother in the wind... I don't want him out there because of what he's already been through. He won't really talk about it, but from what he's told me, his father was horrible to him," Barbara whispered, "I didn't want to say it in front of him... But when I took him home, I promised myself that I'd protect him. I can't do that if I allow him to do what we do."
Dick nodded and sighed. They talked for a few hours, and on Dick's way out, he whispered, "The biggest mistake you could've made was letting him know what you do, but all you can do now is train him as best you can and hope that he'll listen to you."
Barbara nodded, and once Dick was gone, she changed into her pajamas and checked on Jason. A thought weighed heavy on her mind as she went back to her room. It kept her up for the rest of the night.

Chapter 51
... Bucky’s PoV ...
They are all sitting in the big kitchen of the Compound, and if Bucky has to judge by Peter’s expression, then he’s not the only one feeling uncomfortable. Well…not all. [Y/N] isn’t there, and though he hates to admit it, it’s actually a relief. What she has done is messed up and it has rattled the teams at the worst possible time, because the looming threat of an alien invasion is still hanging over their heads. That’s what they are discussing now.
“We know that some managed to get away,” Stark is saying. “And not just from our site, but also from Washington.”
The mutants and Inhumans from the area had been amazing, ensuring a minimum of friendly casualties as they beat back several waves of attacks. No new vessels have arrived, but it’s a constant threat looming over them all.
“We have no way of knowing how long before Thanos will strike again. Next time he’ll be prepared.” Natasha points out.
“That’s why we need all hands on deck.” Steve’s voice is low, almost soothing, but Bucky knows his old friend well enough to understand that it means he is frustrated by their indecision. The blond man’s presence has helped Bucky keep his head relatively straight, but knowing how vulnerable Steve is now, has made his own chest ache and his lungs seem incapable of granting him enough oxygen.
Steve’s frustration is shared by Stark. “We know what you want to say. You’ve made your position abundantly clear, but it won’t be you out there next to her.”
Steve jerks forward in the seat to add strength to his words: “If you think I’m backing down from this fight just because I’m not enhanced anymore, then you’re wrong!” Oh boy, here we go again. They’d all tried to talk Steve out of it before, but the man was stubborn righteousness incarnate. This time no one tries to contradict him. “Then that’s settled at least.” He glares at all of them with icy blue eyes, before settling back in the chair with a sigh. “I understand why you are freaked out by what [Y/N] did, so am I…but frankly it’s no different from what the rest of us do.”
“She never told us that she could do this. In fact, she denied it less than 24 hours before we deployed.” Stark has a hard time trusting people.
Vision’s voice is void of emotion like always. “Her ability is still developing.”
“She didn’t even use a weapon…” Bucky is surprised to hear his own voice, but even more afraid to understand that he wouldn’t be able to be alone with her…not because of fear, but because of distrust from not understanding her anymore. She’s as alien to him as the creatures they fought a few days ago.
“Neither do I…or Vis.” Wanda speaks quietly, the accent rounding her words, making them curl in on themselves. “You could all kill without a weapon if you chose to.” The young woman has a point, and it makes some of them look down at their own hands.
Loki is the first to break the silence. He has been leaning against the counter, but now he walks over and tosses a folded piece of paper on the table. “She knows and fears what she has done more than any of you seem to understand.” The Asgardian does nothing to hide his disdain of the people he is facing. “Do not underestimate her devotion to you or her family.” At the last word he nods towards the object in the centre of the table.
“That’s for her parents?” Steve demands, causing Loki to nod. “I’ll make sure they get it. Thank you.”
“Loki, Thor. What would you suggest we do about her?” Banner has had a different respect for the mythological men since his stint in space.
“I believe my brother is right,” Thor begins, “Thanos will seek her out if he learns about her power. He craved Hela’s gift for his own use and he will want the same for [Y/N]. She is protected for now, but we cannot hope to keep her there forever. I say we meet him head on.”
Natasha’s curiosity is always awakened by planning. “How?”
The God of Thunder seems to consider his words, giving Loki the chance to voice his own idea: “We lure him to a place of our choosing.”
“Use [Y/N] as bait?” The disapproval is dripping like venom from Steve’s voice.
“She may not be opposed to the idea herself.” Loki counters.
No, she would welcome it, if it meant drawing the fight away from innocent people. “I think she would accept, but ask her.”
“The soldier understands.” Loki smirks.
Sam’s been keeping oddly quiet, but now he uncrosses his arms. “It feels like a shitty move but it might prevent her from doing something more stupid, to be honest.”
“Speaking of not doing stupid things...” Steve says with a hard voice, “guess someone else will have to take over for me.” He picks up the shield and tosses it gently at Sam who grabs it, stunned.
Bucky can’t help a little smile, it’s not often they manage to get the better of the snappy man. “We’ve made a decision.”
… Reader’s PoV ...
You put the book down and rubs your eyes. Loki has been gone all day, leaving you alone and confined to his room. Even though it’s a comfortable place, you still feel locked in. Oh, let’s try. Getting up, you walk over and yank the door open with determination but your further advancements are blocked by the guard who has been standing out there all day.
“Is there anything you require?”
“No, I just wanted to see more of this place.” You smile, hopefully kindly, as you attempt to move past him.
“I cannot allow you to leave these quarters.” His heart is pounding and sweat is starting to form under the brim of his impressive crescent-adorned helmet.
“What is your name?” Make a personal connection, just like Natasha taught.
His answer is hesitant. “…Arvid.”
“Arvid. I must say you are an excellent guard…” He nods proudly. “What exactly was the task you were given?”
“To ensure the safety of you and those near you.” Repeating the order makes him snap into the rigid posture he has been using all day.
“So not to keep me confined. As long as you accompany me, then you won’t be in breach of your duty.”
He is baffled by your reasoning and you grab the chance to duck past him and stride down the hall.
You are near the end before he catches up with you, mumbling under his breath.
Walking two steps to the right and behind you, he trails you down increasingly bigger corridors and hallways, many hewn in stone so smooth that it reflects the light of the braziers. Everywhere you look are seemingly new paintings or tapestries depicting battles and people that are strangely familiar after having leafed through some of the books in Loki’s chamber. Good thing I loved reading about mythology when I was little, you muse as you pass an embroidery of three women busy sorting long, spindly threads hanging all around them.
The only people you meet on the way seem to simply be more guards, although, behind some of the closed doors you pass there are what seems to be a mix of residents and staff.
The place is supposed to be brand new, nothing survived the destruction of Asgard but even so everything here has a soul and a story. Perhaps there was a vault off planet? It would also explain how Thor had been able to afford buying the great expanse of land from Norway.
At one point, when walking along a loggia, you have the pleasure of looking down into a large garden, which would be lush in the summer. Sprawling flowerbeds spiralling in towards the centre where a solitary apple tree stands, and though the tree is barren and the few plants are waiting for spring it’s a promise of calm. There has to be a way down there. You haven’t followed any particular system while leading Arvid on the little expedition.
“Dear Arvid, how do I get down there?”
“I believe we established my task was only to guarantee your safety. I’m not obliged to bring you anywhere where you haven’t been asked to go.” His face might just as well be carved in stone, but you could swear he’s enjoying having the upper hand.
“Touché.”
Refusing to be deterred, you pick the route at random until you find a staircase leading down to another gallery, through which you can either walk around three sides of the high-ceilinged room before facing a set of stairs that lead back up, or you can follow a descend wide enough to allow several elephants to walk side by side.
Choosing the latter, you find yourself on the floor of what must be the grand entrance to the palace of Asgard. The ground under your feet is midnight blue, with golden bands criss-crossing through the star-strewn stone that extends seamlessly into pillars that support the gallery above. Golden runes and bands adorn the monumental supports around the massive gate, the guards standing at either side look like children in comparison, and their uniforms seem drab compared to the gleam of its surface. It’s nearly impossible to tell if it’s wood inlaid with gold and amber or the other way around.
Between you and the way out is a circular basin, maybe four meters in diameter, with benches curving around it to allow people to sit and watch the shimmering figure that is projected upwards from a perfectly round stone in the middle. Yggdrasil? From what Thor once had explained you, the Tree of Life was not a tree as such, but rather a metaphor for the connection of the Nine Realms the Asgardians consider themselves a part of together with Midgard.
Behind you, the assigned watcher is having a whispered conversation with another man before turning to face his charge. “Lady [Y/N]. I must implore that you stay here. I have been called away, but I shall return momentarily.”
You nod and he leaves only pausing briefly to whisper a few words to one of the guards that were already stationed in the great hall. Someone will keep an eye on me, I see. All guards in Asgard seem to carry the same armour: golden cuirass, greaves and vambraces with matching helm and round shield. They don’t lack weapons either as they are sporting not just a sword and a dagger, but also a long spear, that makes you think it’s as if they are overcompensating…on the other hand there is safety in being able to attack from a distance and you have no doubt that these big warriors know how to use every bit of advantage they can find. Eight of them…I better behave now.
Sitting down meekly, you entertain yourself by staring at the translucent tree and trying to figure out how a place, build by refugees, can seem so ancient and well financed already.
… Loki’s PoV ...
Loki has found his involuntary guest lost to the world. She doesn’t startle, when he approaches, but she gives no excuse for leaving the safety of the chamber. In silence, he walks her to the place that serves as a sort of throne room.
Thor is there. Though they returned not long ago, he has already busied himself with the records they have retrieved about Hela, Thanos and the Infinity Stones. Several astronomical maps are scattered across the long table and Heimdall keeps leafing through them. In itself, that’s not a new sight, as all of the Asgardians hope to some day find a place truly of their own, not bought with gold from another ruling power.
“[Y/N], it is good to see you up and about.” Sitting down, Thor smiles broadly. “What do you want now?”
“Honestly, what I want might not be what I should.” Showing the first sign of uncertainty since they walked through the doors, she exhales silently. “I wish to return home, because there are many people there that I worry about and would like to ensure are safe. Still…if the prevailing theory is true, then I should stay away from them to keep them safe…”
Valkyrie, who has been loitering at the other end of the room, narrows her eyes at the Midgardian. “So, you admit you are a danger to those around you?”
“Indirectly.” [Y/N] looks the other woman in the eyes. “I don’t want to hurt anyone.”
The king sits silently for a while, staring at the woman standing tall in front of him as he absentmindedly rubs his knuckles against his knee. “How far would you go to save your friends?”
“As far as I must.” She manages to add the title just in time, and Loki could have sworn he saw the tiniest flicker of a smile on his brothers face.
“The Captain said as much.”
She looks down. “Steve would do the same.”
“Not him. Your new Captain, Sam Wilson” Her head snaps up and [Y/N] stares open mouthed from the king to Loki and back several times as she tries to make sense of the words. “While you have been here, our friends have had to prepare for the next battle which will undoubtedly be upon us sooner rather than later. Not all changes have been desirable...”
The words are meant to study the reaction they call forth…but the reaction is minimal. She has feared this already, nothing you say is shocking to her, brother.
“That is a reasonable concern that I would share after having learned more about Hela. I can only think of two ways to avoid utter destruction of any realm –”
“Two ways?” Thor interrupts, and Loki would have asked the same.
“Make sure there is nothing for Thanos to come for either by removing his…target from anywhere populated…or by destroying what he wants.”
Several people speak at once, making it impossible to discern what any of them are saying. Only Thor and the Midgardian keep quiet and it is with a sense of dread that Loki realizes that a decision has been made between the two of them.
“There may be a way to assist you in drawing the Mad Titan away. Go now, and I shall see what can be done.”
“Thank you, Thor.” She bows before turning away.

Not sure who made you Gale's Sole Interpretor, but could you fucking chill with CALLING PEOPLE ABUSERS over what smut they write with him? -.- Thanks.
it genuinely took me a while to figure out what you could possibly be referring to, since i didn’t talk about smut fanfiction & abuse anywhere on my socials. i presume it’s this post, yes?
gale’s sexual preferences & kinks
which i started off with:
note: this is merely my read on gale’s sexual preferences/kinks. i don’t want to police anyone on their headcanons or claim they are “incorrect”. since the game doesn’t provide too much detail, many things remain up to interpretation. (and lest we forget fanfiction has always encouraged the exploration of dynamics that may not be present in canon.)
this is the part of my post that addressed dubcon within the game’s writing, not fanfiction:
gale is also not a voyeur, nor a cuck. the entire scene with the drow twins leans way too much into dub-con territory for my tastes. the only way you can get him to participate at all is by rolling a persuasion check with DC 25. in every other dialogue option, he immediately (and explicitly) declines. even if you do manage to pass the persuasion check, he is still very hesitant about participating.
here i talked about the parallels to common abuser rhetoric (i.e. “you just have to try it, you might be into it” after already being told no.):
i am aware that fandom uses the fact that his “orb lit up in telltale excitement” as a justification that persuading him was the right choice, as well as confirmation that he was secretly into it and “just needed a little push" to explore his desires/get out of his comfort zone. that implication alone is very suspect and goes straight into the sort of logic abusers often use. you can be physically aroused by certain scenes, images, or sounds, even while being visibly uncomfortable with the presented scenario. it is a natural response that you can’t often control. which is what he is showing throughout the entire scene: discomfort. he was coerced into this situation, without any prior discussion or an opportunity to talk about his boundaries.
in fact, the devnotes (as well as the patch 6 notes) even explicitly stated that gale is very uncomfortable with this entire scenario. this is nothing new:
gale: "ahem. i hope you're not here to ask about our recent, erm, activities. i'd rather those were consigned to the footnotes out of romance, if it's all the same with you." nodecontext: clears throat awkwardly at the start. the first time you've spoken since having a threesome.

improved player attitudes in the dialogue options when gale expresses discomfort at the drow twins' four-way proposal and removed the persuasion roll.
yet again, what i was addressing in said post is the writing within the game and the interpretations of the game canon — this is not about fandom exploring the smut aspect of this scene in fanfiction. i didn't mention anything along those lines once.
how you choose to examine this scene within the confines of your own writing is solely personal/another matter entirely. as long as you practice common courtesy and tag your work with the according trigger warnings so people can avoid your content/they're not exposed to it without their consent: it’s all good.
#there is a strict difference between: ‘this is how it happened in canon because it conveniently aligns with my kinks’#& ‘this aspect is intriguing to me so i’d like to explore it more in my own writing’#on that note: there is nothing wrong with addressing abuse in your own writing either. you do you#just tag your work#dubcon mention#abuse mention#coercion tw#asks#it speaks#fandom discourse#gale dekarios

I am new to the Landoscar fandom but I adore their chemistry and the fics. I saw your post about how you’re a part of the fandom that actively protects the girls in their rl which is awesome because I didn’t even know what the Carlando fans had done. I’m so happy to hear this fandom seems a bit more mature than that. How can I join? I’d like to make like minded friends 😊
yes!! we love and support Lily here and the line between shipping landoscar as a couple vs as their real life relationship is extremely clear. a similar ship is George and Alex where both Lily and Carmen are beloved by the people who ship galex. it's so easy to not hate women, adore the two guys' real life friendship, and then ship them romantically for fun in non-public spaces. so so easy.
the larrying of car|ando breaks my heart a little bc that was my first F1 rpf ship and I also love their real life friendship - genuinely the Singapore race meant way more to me emotionally for Carlos having always been big protective brother to Lando than needing to put on ship goggles. no one rly knows why car|ando is the one that people have decided is "legit" esp when Daniel and Lando straight up did the gay baiting stuff and Max V is the only driver that Lando actively has an off-season engagement with (as well as a longer driver relationship than Carlos or Daniel). but there's no reasoning w people who use vile rampant misogyny against real life girlfriends as if that will someone make two guy friends suddenly get married or whatever.
but I will say that a lot of us who still ship car|ando aren't in the larry crowd and can distinguish reality from fiction so don't be too spooked off them <3
honestly as a relatively new blog myself I can tell you that everyone in landoscar fandom is extremely kind and welcoming! my walls of text have got to get tedious at times but if anyone's annoyed then they don't say and just scroll on by!
but a heads up that tumblr is a very tricky place for keeping up with people and content by the tags and dash alone so I would make sure to tag your posts very well and also just start sending in some asks to blogs! personally I try to systematically check mutuals blogs bc tumblr sometimes shoves a person's posts wayyyy down.
and this is a personal preference and I'm not sure if you're a fic writer but it's such a huge help with fic posts if there's a banner or even just a pic bc for some reason those show up on my dash more than text post only fic.

I have no problem with gay ships but why do people ship incest ships? Like, why would you ship siblings? It’s just wrong. It’s not a one off either. Incest is just so wrong, and the fact that people think it’s okay, let alone ship it and even write fanfics about it, is just gross. Honestly in my opinion it's a fine line of inconsiderate and disrespectful for those that have been victimized by family members in incestuous sexual abuse and never had a choice in the matter! I'm a pretty wide open person and I'm lesbian as well as someone also said above. I don't offend easily (EVER) but that being said I also believe it's human decency to be aware and treat some topics with the sensitivity they deserve! This whole incestuous relationship crap is definitely something twisted and diabolical for someone to even think that it's normal and acceptable! I think these tags shouldn't be allowed even. What if you become a mother and have two sons? And in this way you also dilute real gay issues and what you are doing is actually straight white male fetishization #stopshippingincest
We need to narrow our scope of what shipping means. Do you mean, support, squee over, want to be canon, goon to? Do you also mean, acknowledge, "legitimize," discuss, and tolerate? Because saxloch is technically canon? Brother/brother intercourse occurred in the show, and I discuss it and how it affects the characters involved. We actually need to make a lot of things clear. I am a gay man. I'm a white gay man in fact. I can't fetishize my own demographic. I am more an expert in "real gay issues" that pertain to gay men than you will ever be. I will also never have children but that's beside the point.
Because I don't have an incest kink. I don't know if you're "accusing" me of anything or just asking for me to discuss fandoms in general. But I am normally so against incest shipping that I got chased out of the Flash fandom for being like "Um, why does Barry Allen consider Joe West his real father but also wants his real father's daughter? Okay..." and yeah maybe I need to clam down a little. I try not to judge. What I find compelling about saxloch is not that they're brothers and ooh how scandalous. But I find brotherly relationships compelling in general (I only have sisters so it's like studying an alien civilization for me lol), and saxloch in particular allows me to explore how what should be and sometimes almost is a wholesome brotherly relationship turns out so deranged and toxic.
(There's also the whump aspect, seeing my blorbo go through emotional distress because of his shithead groomer brother like yeah... that's good content).
People like toxic shit, what can I say? Like, I really like arranged marriage au's, even though in most cultures that practice(d) it, it's a misogynistic institution rife with nonconsensual implications and would never apply to gay couples anyway. So am I supporting something bad? Am I deludedly sexualizing a practice that goes hand in hand with homophobia? Maybe that's a weak comparison, and a copout.
I agree, that incest in real life is a manifestation of familial abuse. But I have consistently differentiated between Real Incest and Fantasy Incest, which is what people in fandoms are indulging in, and in fact what most media that depicts incest uses. Do I find it a little... unimaginative that people who ship incest view it as a sexual orientation, and that the primary driving emotional force of their stories is "We're made for each other, but society won't accept us, I wish I could quit you, what will mamà and papà think"? Well yes. But consider that maybe these people aren't comfortable or don't feel equipped to explore the themes of grooming and sibling abuse and how traumatizing and confusing it is. I would love personally for people to explore just how fucked up saxloch would be if it were treated like realistic incest. I want Lochlan to be acknowledged as a victim, not just to vindicate my own emotional response (based on my own trauma), but so I can reach through the screen and put a bandaid on his booboo and kiss it better. You know, heal the child I see myself in, gay ass shit like that?
And yeah, all that said, it can be triggering if you're an incest survivor to see people sanitize or celebrate what happened to you. But my advice for that is, block! Protect yourself first, moralize second lol.
I hate to say "that's life deal with it," but people have been railing against this since livejournal was the main fanfiction platform, and it hasn't stopped anyone. People are going to take your pain (whatever that is) and find it cute or even beat their meat to it. There's nothing you can do as one person about it, so stop harming yourself and fixating on it!
I've never been to conversion therapy, but I've been threatened with it. That was actually such a horrible time in my life lmaooo. Conversion therapy au's are not something I want to read; the research and care required is typically not done, and setting a bland coming of age romcom in torture camps is... odd. I may privately judge people who find this a compelling setting for gay yaoi love stories. But the only person I can control is myself. The only person I'm accountable for is myself. I can discuss the ~problematic~ nature of these things in a general sense, but it's not my place or responsibility to get people who like conversion therapy as a fanfiction trope to "be better." And again, maybe that's a copout, since these au's are pretty universally reviled and many people speak out against them in concept and they've largely disappeared.
So it's a matter of culture almost? What's considered broadly acceptable changes like the tides. And to that I say, I don't fucking know? I mean, incest is widely condemned anyway, so that only makes the incest shipping "community" more tight knit. My hunch for most incest shippers is that it's more than a fun fanfiction setting like a conversion therapy au, they are aroused by it, as a concept. Human sexuality is complex, but it's largely set in stone once you reach a certain age. People are precious about their kinks, and there's a powerful group behavior impulse in fandom spaces on top of that, especially if they feel persecuted. So I think a lot of it is identifying with a character who has fucked up desires and wants someone he shouldn't (and yeah it is mostly white boys so go figure) because that's how they feel.
Of course some people clock into incest shipping like it's their job and start making incest au's or shipping siblings who aren't actually part of an incest subplot. Those are the professional gooners, and they're really not going to stop being turned on by this shit just because you wag your finger at them. So at the risk of sounding glib, just move on?
If you have enough empathy to imagine/understand what it's like to enjoy unhealthy or toxic fictional content (in a romantic/sexual sense), but not enough empathy to realize you shouldn't go up to random people and (albeit both parties are anonymous) yell at them demanding they explain themselves to you and apologize for indulging in fiction? No, it's a chop for me. If you're genuinely experiencing emotional distress, you need to go take care of yourself now. If you're just intellectually sneering at people that you are not actually superior to (we're all human and we're all weirdos in different ways) then you need to get over yourself.
#I black out and when I wake up there are 400k words on my screen whatever#fandom etiquette#incest shipping

No, I am actually going to be that person:
Stop trying to talk down on fucking Anti tags.
I am so tired of you all being like "Drivers deserve no hate, they are human too blah blah". Guess what. Humans fuck up. They get called out for it like they should so they can learn. Sugarcoating especially won't help in a fandom that is already centered around the most privileged fucking people imaginable (majority being cis, straight white men)
Humans also have people that like and dislike them. Do you not think that these tags were created for a purpose? Most of us saw that we didn't like a driver and just like most of you guys want to connect to people who do, we want to connect to people who don't.
Stop trying to argue that you fandom experience gets ruined by anti tags when fans have specifically created those tags so they wouldn't ruin your experience.
I am not excusing deaths threats or threats of violence in anyway but that is not what 95% of anti posts are about. Threats of any kind aren't okay but that is not the case in most posts, hell the majority do not have that.
You create your fandom experience. There are so many kinds of subfandoms that yes are aften found connected to the main fandom. So if you want to avoid one of those fandoms, block tags that are related to it. All of us who interact in and with anti tags are specifically doing that to make your fandom experience easier and more comfortable. We know how hard it can be to navigate a fandom so we are trying our best to make clear where not to go yet you all keep insisting that it is still horrible etc.
This is a sports fandom. People dislike teams, players in every fucking kind of sport. People have preference in every kind of sport. Therefore the same will happen in F1 only instead of players it will be drivers.
Nowadays we have the incredible privilege of being able to choose what fandom spaces to enter, how we want to create those experiences.
Yes, there are still people who do not know fandom etiquette but that really is a very small minority.
I also find it funny that only when your favourite white boy is suddenly under criticism are you all complaining about hate meanwhile drivers like Max and Lance where cyberbullied since they entered the sport as teens, Lewis still has to face racism from within the motorsport community, ...
Again: Anti tags do not mean death threats or violence should ever be allowed there. Those have no place anywhere.
But Anti tags are not made to threaten drivers. Anti tags are a result of people personal negative opinions on drivers that they want to share with others just like the normal tags are a result of people's personal positive feelings that they want to share with others. Both of these people deserve their place in fandoms, on completely opposite ends as to not disturb one another.
#f1#sorry for the rant#but i am actually pissed off at so many of you all insisting we do not need anti tags

Hey,
I just wanted to make sure: have you been in the ofmd fandom during s1 coming out? I'm very interested in meta from that time (I'm not asking for any links, I can search myself, don't want to bother you, unless you would like to recommend something, that would be great of course)
(Forgive any spelling errors for now, im in bed on my phone lol)
Hello! Yes I have! I started watching the show a few days after s1ep7&8 came out, and watched eps 9&10 the moment they came out!
During the early days of fandom meta, you had a lot of straight up show analysis. Songs, motifs, symbols and explaining characters actions and the like. Back then I don't think I ever posted, just reblogged some stuff relating to Ed/Stede.
For that, I'd recommend looking up the topics I listed from lighthouse symbolism, music in certain scenes. Bare bones, but fun stuff! The tags 'ofmd meta' 'Edward Teach meta' or character + meta. That or ofmd symbolism, ofmd mental health, Ed's heart(referencing the red cloth), Oranges, Oluwande's earing.
My biggest draw here is I just love characters and analyzing character arcs in stories. So I have always been on the more meta sides of fandom.
I started posting light meta for Ed and Izzy maybe around June ish of 2022? Maybe? Nothing big, but from then on I focused mainly in the Izzy spaces. FOR ME: I was more intrigued by the meta on the cycles of abuse, classism, refrences to historical piracy, and just sheer angst and heart and emotional honesty of the Meta on this side of the fandom. I grew up and still live in a very red very rural US state and cant safely be visibly queer, so i latched onto Izzy's caution around visable queerness/vulnerability and habit to cling onto the established norm vs. Stede and Ed's story on 'The Love Shack' Carribean eddition. (and the fact Izzy's side treated Ed and Stede like characters that COULD still make mistakes.)
Some fans prefer the romance of ofmd while others prefer the story of family/acceptance/angst. We as a fandom split pretty quickly after ep 10. Trust me.
I sadly can't recommend you anyone specific due to essentially texting this post rn (and if any fans at the time comment down below any notable meta writers they can remember, I'd appreciate it-im drawing a blank besides my mutuals-hell give yourself a shout out if youd like). What i can give you are the disagreements that split meta writing in the fandom during the hiatus. Hell some of these even have trickle-down effects to this day as to how the fandom portrays these characters TO THIS DAY. This is where I see the clear line between what ofmd fandom will call the Izzy 'canyon' of meta vs general fan posting.
1.) Did Izzy influence/order Ed to become the Kraken? [Ed meta: (to be a bit uncharitable) Ed felt like he was alone and he'd only be able to keep Izzy in his life is if he became the Kraken (or Izzy is somehow abusing Ed to make that choice to become the monster he feared)] [izzy meta: izzy wanted blackbeard back, his friend and captain, not the Kraken. He cares about Ed being safe, and for them, that means hiding behind the blackbeard shield. Even if it keeps them both stagnant]
2.) Does Ed want to kill? How does he frame killing? How does he moralize it? How does this trauma affect him as a character? How does he value the lives of his crew ('they're pirates, that's their job' s1ep4 vs his dad or the ship he lit on fire for example)
3.) Is izzy homophobic/racist/a colonist/more of a piece of shit beyond just being an antagonist(if i were you I'd also just stick away from a post if it seems like the writer is framing all of Ed's actions like Izzy is his 'puppet master controlling the strings'.)
4.) Why do Stede and Ed seem to struggle to care about anyone else in their lives beyond each other? (Not really popular outside of Izzy spaces unless discussing ADHD/AUTISM. Honestly I don't know how you'd look for this in a Tumblr search bar, but it's some good stuff)
5.) Edward Teach has Adhd/BPD/Depression or the cycle of abuse, Stede Bonnet has Autism/Adhd/emotional childhood neglect including some amazing meta on masking. I think I even wrote something about Izzy and autism actually....
If I were you this is where I'd start. The mental health discussions in this Fandom are intriguing. S2 did basically confirm the ADHD 100% for anyone who was doubting, and healed Ed's btd with stedes dick, but other than that. There's some really good stuff in there. An easy way to find some good writers!
>) ALSO: Does piracy represent masculinity?? (S1 says maybe, it depends. S2 throws that whole meta out the window, but it was fun to talk about equating Izzy and Ed's leather daddy ship and more masculinity presentations of queerness to traditional masc gender roles)
6.) Do you define Ed and his actions as his own or as that under labels? This one is super frustrating to me personally. It does nothing for me to look at s2ep1 and say 'see that's the Kraken, that's a mask, that's not Ed'. But a lot of the general wider fandom do see Ed masking as somehow putting on a role, like in a play, and carrying out his evil actions under a pseudonym. These people usually will also believe the 'Izzy is manipulating a mentally ill man' stuff. As if Izzy isn't also SUPER fucked up.
THIS lack of character direction affected our fandoms fanfic and fanart too. I look at Ed and see a man who is and has fucked up. But hell, go back to S1 fic and you can read a fic where izzy slaughters puppies and Ed stands by with 'sexy cow eyes' unable to stop him. Then the next read 'Ed/Stede slowburn post s1 where Izzy goes to get Stede and learns to be apart of the crew' in 40k words.
7.) Jim's religious trauma, what is up with Buttons, Lucius/Izzy and Polyamory dynamics, or other topics with side characters that are brushed off. I bet right now if you look at people writing S2 Frenchie trauma Meta, they wrote stuff for s1
8.) Also- was izzy turned on by the toe thing/getting slammed into a wall. Yes. This is still debated. As a con oneill fan, those are not his 'I'm hot for this' faces. But No. You will still see that interpretation today that he wanted Ed to do something to him only because he got off on it. Even after s2. (Izzy being a masochist however? Fan theory that was embraced and made into a refrence in s2 which was fun)
I've just rebloged a post with some meta from a writer I enjoy and I will tag you!! But yeah! OFMD mutuals if you can recommend any meta writers, don't be afraid to!! Thanks for the ask!!! ❤️(I will likely add to this post when I think of more lol)
#ofmd meta#ofmd meta meta#lol#izzy hands#ofmd s2#thanks for the ask!#god...am i a meta writer now? shit...#weird to think about#you read 1 meta about Izzys microexpressions and BAM here we are#ofmd#ofmd s1 meta

Sorry not sorry but kids on TikTok are being so dramatic about the JJK fandom right now. “The new MHA” “the figurine incidents” are you new to the internet??? Have you EVER been in a fandom before? If not, you’re not old enough to be watching JJK or interacting with its fandom anyways. And for the record, JJK is nowhere near MHA in terms of fandom horrificness. I’ve never been in either, but I can easily name like five different things about the MHA fandom that make it so much worse than JJK. (Grown women simping over and making their whole personalities wanting to marry and prey on 15 year old boys, nsfw audios and other sexual content of 15 year olds everywhere, people actually getting into physical altercations and doxxing eachother over ships, actual 15 year olds thinking it’s fine to be with adults because of the aforementioned shit, the destruction of hotel and convention property, etc). The JJK fandom makes horny jokes about fictional characters and themselves. That’s it. That’s the “horrible” fandom these people are whining about. That shit is hilarious, and if you don’t want to see it, you can block tags on TikTok effortlessly to avoid it. No seriously, just click “not interested” and opt to add more detail, then block the tags on the specific post that you don’t want to see more of. If you’ve been on the internet for more than ten years you’ll be fully aware of the fact that someone squeezing period blood from a tampon on their figurines is harmless and doesn’t affect you in any way. There’s an entire subreddit for people cumming on their figurines, this is nowhere close to the worst thing fandoms have done to their figures. Have we already forgotten the rainbow dash jar?
Just to be clear so people don’t start trying to twist this around, I’m not saying they don’t have a right to be grossed out by it or something. I’m saying that making several posts about how horrible that person is for doing shit to their own figures, and blowing it out of proportion by implying it’s even remotely as bad as a fandom full of 30+ year olds simping for teenagers is stupid. It’s dramatic and it’s annoying as hell to be scrolling my normal fyp and suddenly see several vocaloid background slideshows about how “problematic” the JJK fandom is. It’s not even like I can block that shit because they use main tags like “anime” to tag it. If I block that my fyp will be in shambles and I’ll be thrown to the depths of footballtok or something.
“It’s against TikTok TOS” and they got banned. They’ve been banned already. For a while now. Also people literally just straight up post cropped porn on TikTok all the time, this isn’t news either. Just block the tags and move on if you think the fandom is that gross. Better yet: block the tag of the CHARACTER that gets all of the sexual attention. It irritates me to no end how people will just complain about shit then refuse to fix the problem and continue to complain. It’s not the responsibility or fault of other people to bend to your preferences. “Don’t like don’t read”, block and move on. And I can assure you, not seeing harmlessly weird fandom shit isn’t a need. It is VERY much a preference.
Little edit/side note: the vast majority of people complaining directly state in their slideshows and videos that they didn’t get the video on their fyp. They were told about or linked to it and made the conscious decision to view it. We REALLY need to teach people Dead Dove: Do Not Eat outside of ao3.
Anyways I hope my mutuals have a wonderful day, just ignore this lol I had a moment and will likely delete this later.

The first part
Part 4
Shimazaki's working hours were - well, let's just say - quite flexible.
Since being recruited by the government, he and Hatori have been part of a special investigative team focusing on psychic crimes under the direct supervision of Joseph. This arrangement allowed them to be useful to the government, and also kept them under constant close surveillance. Shimazaki, as a teleporter and skilled fighter, naturally took on the role of field agent. He (theoretically) reported on his progress once a week, and spent the rest of his time on various operations. This meant that no one really knew what he was doing during his "working hours".
Well, Hatori knew. But they were good buddies who cover up for each other. So...... It made perfect sense to take a day off work, and go on a date with his boyfriend to enjoy the flowers.
Wednesday evening, Shimazaki's cell phone rang loudly.
Minegishi was sorting through the letters at the dining table. The apartment's mailbox was on the first floor, but they were so used to teleporting straight back to the entrance that by the time they remembered, it had already accumulated into a thick pile. He had to sift through all the countless junk advertisements to find a few important bills. Shimazaki couldn't help with that; if he lived alone, he would throw everything straight into the trash.
So when the phone rang, he was in the kitchen boiling water for tea. His little damned electronic device kept buzzing and vibrating, emitting a poor quality default ring tone at maximum volume. He sensed that Minegishi's attention had shifted from the letter to the living room.
Shimazaki teleported over and ended the call.
"...... I don't think that will work." Minegishi said.
Two seconds later, as if in a show of determination, the cell phone beeped loudly and relentlessly once again. Shimazaki briefly considered throwing it away, maybe dumping it in a gutter, or leaving it on top of Mount Fuji or something -
But he gave up. Shimazaki picked up the phone and put it on speaker, so that Minegishi could hear too.
"Hey." he said.
"We found the mastermind." Joseph's voice came from the phone's speaker, "We just intercepted that he's meeting with the cadre tomorrow afternoon, time and location confirmed. I'll send you a briefing later. We’re having an operation meeting at 9:00 am. There will be a lot of people on the other side this time. We'll arrange extra support to work with you, so no skipping out. Understood?"
Minegishi looked at him, his aura alert and tense.
Shimazaki scratched his nose, "Uh, I’m actually not available tomorrow."
"Haha, very funny." Joseph said coldly, "I may not have made it clear. This is a top priority. Everything else can wait. They haven't shown their hand for six months, and now we finally have a chance to catch -"
Bzzzz. Bzzzz.
The cell phone suddenly made a noise. They all know what that was about.
With a click, the third-party call was forced through. Hatori's voice blared through the speaker, "Hey, hey, hey! Joseph, what the hell are you doing? You can't send Shima on the mission tomorrow! They're going on a date!"
"A da- Wait, what?"
"A date! You know? The romantic kind?" Hatori paused, "Oh, just like what you did on the 17th of last month with -"
"I know what a date is. My Japanese is fine." Joseph growled, "Stop investigating me. I don't care what you had planned, but you'd better show up tomorrow."
Hatori complained, "Oh, come on. Don’t we have anyone else on our team? What do they even get paid for?"
"Must I say it out loud? We need Shimazaki's abilities. We have only 18 hours to plan an operation against a large, multinational organization. It's one thing if the mission succeeds, but it's also my job to make sure everyone gets back safely, and Shimazaki's participation in the operation will minimize the risks."
"You could just say 'He's great.'"
"That's what I mean." Joseph said through clenched teeth, "So, unless you can replace him -"
"I can't, but I know someone who can. Serizawa. Do you remember him? The big guy who threw you out with an umbrella? He's now working for a...... Well, a chaotic good fraudster. If you ask him for help, I'm sure he'll say yes."
"Hmm. He's very strong indeed......"
Beep-beep-beep. Beep-beep-beep. The speaker made the dialing sound.
A few seconds later, the call was answered, bringing the fourth party into the conversation. There was a loud, boisterous noise in the background, as if they were somewhere busy outside. But Hatori seemed to have made some adjustments, and the background noise faded away.
"Hello?" Serizawa said.
"Hey, Serizawa, you got a minute?" Hatori said, "Joseph wants to ask you a favor."
"Oh, yeah, sure. You mean Joseph from the government?"
"That's me." Joseph said.
A distant, muffled voice from the background said, "Is your mom okay?" - followed by Serizawa’s reply, "It's not my mom, it's Hatori." - Serizawa turned back to the phone, "Sorry, I got distracted. Was that Mr. Joseph on the line? What can I do for you?"
"They're trying to arrest a bunch of bad guys tomorrow, but Shimazaki is not available for his date with Minegishi, so they're looking for you to fill in." Hatori said.
Joseph sighed, "Pretty much what he said, but you can think of it more formally. Think of it as the government asking for your help in maintaining public safety or something."
"Uh, tomorrow? Is it going to take the whole day?"
Serizawa hesitated.
"I have to work tomorrow. But if it's really important, I think I can ask Mr. Reigen......" - Another muffled voice from his end, obviously Reigen himself, Serizawa's current boss, asked, "What? What's going on? What do you want to ask me?" - Serizawa moved his cell phone away and explained the conversation. Reigen said something again, but his voice was even more muffled, and it was difficult to make out what he was saying.
Hatori snapped his fingers, and Serizawa’s speakerphone turned on automatically. The voices of Serizawa and Reigen suddenly became clear.
"- sounds very dangerous." Reigen said.
"Serizawa?" Hatori laughed, "Yeah, very dangerous for the other side."
"Oh! Wow! Is that Hatori? Don't put it on speaker all of a sudden, you scared me!" Reigen quickly regained his composure, "Okay, I'll be straight here. If Serizawa is willing, of course we'll help the city. But as his employer, I have to make sure that he is treated fairly."
"What do you mean?"
"I demand that the government pay Serizawa's daily wage, the special danger bonus, the confidentiality fee, and the compensation for my business losses due to Serizawa's absence."
"I don't think the government has budgeted for that." Joseph said.
"Is this really what the government wants, for him to work for free? You’ve got to be kidding me! If that's the case, then I can't allow Serizawa to be exploited by you."
Hatori interrupted, "No, no, that's easy to fix. Do you have an online bank account?"
"I'll have Serizawa send you the number tomorrow."
"Hatori, you can't use your powers to change bank numbers." Joseph said coldly, "Your employment contract states this very clearly. The government prohibits you from interfering with financial institutions to prevent an economic crisis. That’s part of the deal to ignore your past and keep you employed. You don’t want to end up like Suzuki, do you?"
"That's not in the contract! You can't fool me like that."
"............"
"Wait, is it really there?" Hatori suddenly became nervous. "Are you serious?"
"HATORI -"
"Uh...... You can't be blamed for something you don't know, right? Laws don’t apply retroactively?"
Joseph sounded like his head was about to explode, "You had even dug up my elementary school report card, and you're telling me you've never read your employment contract?"
"Come on, who would actually read that?"
Shimazaki couldn't help but say, "Not me, obviously."
Joseph groaned. Hatori giggled.
"What? Who's that?" Reigen said.
"Sounds like Shimazaki to me." Serizawa said, "Hello, Shimazaki. I didn't know you were on the line." He turned to Reigen and said patiently, "Shimazaki was born blind, so he said he has never 'read' -"
"Stop it." Joseph interrupted, "Blind jokes are bad enough. Don't explain it to me."
"Let me remind you all, my situation here is still unresolved." Reigen said.
"Well, actually," Shimazaki said, "I don't mind paying Serizawa's substitution fee."
"That's great! Finally, someone sensible!"
Serizawa said, "What should I do tomorrow? Should I meet you somewhere?"
"I'll send you a briefing later." Joseph said. "There will be an operation meeting tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. in the government building. I'll give you the details then. Contact me on this phone if you need anything. And -" Joseph's tone turned stern and cold, "Hatori, you’re coming to see me an hour early. We need to have a serious talk."
"What the hell!? Eight in the morning!?"
Hatori let out an incredulous wail, followed by a series of mumbled curses. The phone's speaker crackled again. With a final muffled static noise, the call abruptly disconnected. The sound faded, leaving only the monotonous beep of the call-ending message echoing through Shimazaki and Minegishi's apartment.
For a few seconds, the room was very quiet.
Then the water boiled in the kitchen. The kettle whistled on the stove, spewing clouds of steam. Shimazaki teleported over to turn off the burner. He scooped tea leaves into the cups with a small wooden spoon, and poured in the freshly boiled water.
He came to the dining table with a cup in each hand. Minegishi had already divided the letters into two piles. The thick pile on the left was junk advertising mail that Minegishi would take to the flower shop for gardening purposes, while the one on the right was utility bills and discount coupons from nearby supermarkets. Minegishi picked up the letters and gave them a quick tap on the table to straighten them out.
"Our friends are a bunch of idiots." Minegishi said.
"That's why you love them." Shimazaki smiled, placing the hot tea beside his boyfriend.
BONUS
Serizawa: Wow, I'm so nervous. I can't believe I'm going to meet some real criminals tomorrow!
Reigen: You might want to listen to what you're saying.
