Hey there! Hope you're having a great day/night! May i please get a love reading? My name's Irene and my friend/possible boyfriend's name is Roger. Thanks so much for taking the time to read this, hon!
here you go darling
tarot: ace of cups, 5 of wands/the devil, 4 of diamonds, 10 of swords, 10 of cups, king of wands, strength, knight of cups, page of wands
Theres’s some mixed stuff in here.
We start off very strongly. The ace of cups represents a new opportunity specifically a new relationship which makes sense. And it’s clarified by the 10 of cups which is fulfilment and happiness and dreams coming true. So together they suggest that this new relationship would bring you happiness and lead to peace and contentment and love. So far so good.
But then we get the next set of cards. In the Jane Austen deck the cards a doubled up so that some of the minor arcana are also major arcana and this is one of those cards. The 5 of wands represents conflict and here it doubles as The Devil which is about addiction and vices. Interestingly both have less dark undertones too. The traditional 5 of wands imagery depicts a group of boys brandishing sticks at one another but it isnt clear if the conflict is serious or playful, and the devil can represent magic and playfulness. Traditionally they are both seen as more negative though.
Under them we have the king of wands, the first of three court cards. The king of wands is a big picture kind of guy, he’s very controlled and has a lot of leadership qualities but he does also symbolise overcoming challenges. Along with him we have the Strength card which obviously is about strength, though not just physical. It can be strength of heart, strength of spirit - courage, resilience, confidence, integrity.
Together these cards indicate that someone in the relationship (im inclined to say him but obviously you know the situation better) may have a bit of a wild side or be into certain vices that cause friction between you. I don’t think it’s anything devastating or astronomically big because the cards do suggest you will overcome the issue, that you have the strength to get through it as individuals and a couple, but it is worth mentioning.
The next cards are the 4 of pentacles and knight of cups. The 4 of pents is about protecting what’s yours, fearing the loss of something. In regards to relationships this can sometimes fall into jealousy or possessiveness, even if the intentions are well meant. The knight of cups is very romantic. He’s idealistic, a bit of a dreamer, and follows his heart over his head. It’s possible that this is a warning to not be too clingy with each other, to not fall into the trap of jealousy about other people. It’s interesting that three different court cards appear in this reading. Sometimes three will appear if there is a third party situation but that isn’t always the case. Related to that it might be that one or both of you is holding onto something from the past that you need to let go of before you can move forward properly.
Then we have the 10 of swords. I think this is the worst card in the deck. The 10s are about excess and while the 10 of cups was about an excess of happiness, the 10 of swords goes the other way. It’s pain and sadness and grievances.
the page of wands on the other hand is a lively card. he’s adventurous and excited and represents a desire to try new things and find as much fun as you can. He falls in love fast but may also grow bored quickly.
Together it doesn’t look good. There’s definitely the potential for a breakup here (or at it’s very worst a betrayal). I can’t deny or sugar coat these cards. But there is a silver lining. The 10 of swords is often described as rock bottom. It’s about as bad as you can get, as worst as you can feel. But that only means things can get better from there. And while the page suggests it may be difficult to create something long term, that doesn’t mean that it’s all bad news. You did get the 10 of cups right at the start. There will be happiness and love and satisfaction. No matter what you might go through as a couple, no matter where it may lead, it will be good at least for a time. It’s up to you to decide if that’s enough.
(I will also remind you that the future is not set in stone. I can give you the advice and warnings and thoughts of the cards, I can tell you what they suggest, but that doesn’t it will all come to pass. This isn’t an exact science. Decisions you make today will change what happens tomorrow, or at least that’s what I believe. Come back in a weeks time and ask the same question and the cards may have something entirely different to say because things have changed.)
Onto your oracle cards.
You got two heart cards which say:
The past is now behind you. Release it and embrace new possibilities. A new path is now available to you. Follow it with faith. // When it comes to matters of the heart, there is no right or wrong.. Even choice you make expands your understanding of life and love.
That first one definitely fits in with what I said about potentially holding onto something from the past. It could be a previous relationship, an ex not quite forgotten, a situation with a friendship group that changed when two people started dating, general trauma or anything else.
Then we have 2 angel oracles:
Engagement - Your love life is ascending to a higher level of commitment. // Co-dependency - Addictions are affecting your romantic life.
The first one does not have to mean engagement in the marriage sense, it can just be about decided you are dating or to use words like boyfriend or girlfriend in relation to each other. It’s just about taking another step in the relationship.
The second one definitely ties into that devil card though.
And then finally we have two spellcasting cards: Prosperity and Love.
Both of those are definitely positive. They suggest successful and flourishing circumstances approach and that the love you seek is waiting to be manifested.
